They’re really interesting foils in many ways. I’ve always thought that Marcille & Mithrun have underrated dynamic potential. Give me the cringefail dungeon lords. Give me the elves with ears-centric metaphorical self-image issues. Give me the academic elites whose deepest strongest desires will always remain unreachable and the only option is to turn to the corrupt forbidden fruit of a demon pact. I am so so normal about Mithrun and Marcille

I wonder if the resemblance between captain Mithrun and general Hagreus aka Marcille’s fave in Dalclan is intentional… They definitely look very alike. It could represent idealization vs reality? Something something the romanticization of elves and their societal drama in their fiction vs a very real and imperfect product of their military system. The canaries certainly aren’t glamorous next to whatever Hagreus is the general of. I feel like she never had the opportunity to notice the resemblance herself bc within seconds of meeting him he was wrestling her on the ground but. If she had… She would so think he should have been his actor in the tallman stage play of Daltian Clan in that new extra comic hehe. I love the little details like Hagreus’ lips being drawn with extra details because they’re full and pretty while Mithrun’s lips are drawn with extra details because they’re chapped lmao.

This art is all silly and surface level but in my head mithrille is like so dramatic and I make up daltian clan level big plots with them gbdgd. I made a spotify playlist for mithrun if y’all interested, rn it’s mostly centered around cravings that consume and losing yourself and illusions inspired from his time as dungeon lord but it’s branching out. Varied vibes, levels of intensity and degrees of confusion and await you ✨ I would emotionally rant about Chainsaw Man ost lyrics and how they tie in with Mithrun and the winged lion’s relationship but this post is already a monster

I want more of these two please please please pleaseee just one or two interactions in the new canon content coming up… All they ever did was debate philosophy on desires and human self-fulfillment and try to murder each other, please… I never get to gush about them and I can’t shut up so if you want more thoughts I talk about them more below

Sorry if most of these were Marcille-centric with Mithrun standing there looking cool, if I were doing these more from Mithrun’s pov things would be like "She’s a bit much but I guess I don’t mind hanging around her." or "Oh you’re a half-elf? -insert elven supremacist rethoric-" or "I have to keep her from becoming demon stew." immediately followed by "Did someone say demon? Kill kill kill kill kill" since these are set prior to like really knowing another. Then things would be more like "huh she has bad tastes in novels but her magic research is pretty interesting" and "I’m lonely and don’t understand myself— Oh she loves talking about feelings? Oh shi-" That last one is an aspect of why I like Marcille and Mithrun’s potential dynamic lol. She’s very… Emotionally intelligent alongside being impulsive. You think you have no feelings because the world has beaten them out of you? Think again!! Marcille be upon ye! -In a therapy sort of way but mostly in a connecting with people and your own self through interpersonal relationships and talking kinda way. I just think a lively, upbeat, annoying friend way too interested in your personal life would do him good, the canaries are nice but like if Marcille went to prison and was a sort of extra new bunkmate I think that’d be interesting and fun to read is what I’m saying

Unlike Kabru she wants all the useless messy filler of his backstory, eating chips while listening. Like two chibi sets side by side, "me and my fellow canaries, name name and name-" "Hold on that’s too much info we have to compact this" vs "Then we were to sleep on the third floor of the dungeon, which had the look of a mausoleum, and name and name got into a fight over the campfire placement." while Marcille is like uh-huh what next what next while kicking her feet. She thinks of pre-dungeon pompous Mithrun and is like omg you went through a character arc and became better as a person- and then he opens his mouth and she’s like nevermind let’s keep working on that. She would also go "ew ur hair is greasy" and give him a full hair care treatment. What I’m saying is I need them to be forced to spend time in a dungeon together and become besties through a life or death roadtrip

Marcille is insecure about her ears, long, like an elf’s pride should be, but rounder, inelegant. Seeing Mithrun though, the epitome of beauty, with his half-cut ears make it a sillier thought. Not sure if Mithrun is the best person to reconnect with ur elven culture with but it sure is an option Marcille would so appreciate being around someone both cool headed and kind, I genuinely think they’d get along, like not that Senshi isn’t that too most of the time but I think Mithrun would be in a way that’s more refreshing to her. I’d be so curious about them discussing Dalclan, I doubt he’d have read it but she could make him read it, maybe post-canon with the excuse that they’re trying to find him a new hobby hah. He’d tear into the writing and everything but it’d be a fun time, I like to think that it’d make him a bit less prejudiced. I’ve been in a Mithrun phase I want to make and read Mithrun-centric fics and angst so baaad. I razz him a lot here but he’s literally a traumatized military man that became obsessed with revenge due to bad coping and neglects himself in the process idk not much for him going on and some of it is because he has to work on himself, but hey no one’s perfect it all comes from a place of love and relating though I prommy. He’s the one ungodly angsty squeaky toy blorbo with brain damage rep I have don’t take him from me

can I ask for you trying to wake Laios up after he falls asleep ontop of you? after like a long day of fighting shit. or something in that vein. he has big dog energy so I feel like its something he would do

Nobody has ever claimed that adventuring in the dungeon would be easy work, in fact its notorious for being extremely difficult the further and further down you go

So you can imagine after a particularly grueling fight against a monster, that after everyone has eaten they would all be beyond exhausted. So its safe to say that its immediately bed time after senshi finishes up cleaning and everything.

However to your surprise, Laios doesn't head to his sleeping bag and instead heads to you with yours. When you ask him why he responds "after the last fight it looks like my bag got damaged...plus yours is way comfier." he would say with a slight blush. And looking over at his bag you see it fully rolled out and several noticeable large gouges and burn marks on it, seems he wasnt kidding.

You sigh and say that its ok, motioning for him to lay down. You thank yourself for deciding to get the EXTRA large sleeping bag since you often roll around in your sleep. He smiles excitedly and thanks you and takes the leftover pillows and blanket he has and lays down beside you, of course even then you two are still laying next to each other and basically laying side by side.

You cant help but notice just how warm he is, You can feel the heat radiating off of his body and sure you are phsyically touching but even then you note just how warm his body is next to and laying beside you. Of course with how tired you as well as everyone else is, you dont think about this too long before immediately falling asleep.

You have some nightmares about being crushed by a trap in your sleep, however the cause of said nightmares is quickly apparent when you finally wake up and realize that laios is no longer laying next to you....no now he is currently laying on top of you, his large frame draped across your chest and stomach as he he snores happily, an obvious drool stain at the corner of his mouth.

You cant help but chuckle softly, its no wonder laios was sleeping so peacefully. He saved everyones hides during the fight and took some nasty hits, so he definitely has earned his rest...However as you try to slowly move him you realize something very quickly....Laios is VERY heavy.

You hadnt really thought about it at first, But laios Armor is made of incredibly durable (and heavy) plate and with how easily he is able to move around in it as well as carry his sword, Laios has built up quiet a bit of muscle on himself. Add this together with his already impressive height and you have a man who is heavy with more muscle than most people realize.

You regret not listening to namari's advice in regards to building up some muscle mass for yourself as you try to move laios off yourself gently, as adorable as he is sleeping you really need him to move and you dont want to shout to wake him up cause you would feel bad. You struggle, quietly grunting as you try to wiggle out from under him, stopping whenever his snoring stops, only to return to your fruitless wiggling.

While laios doesnt wake up, your wiggling and quiet grunting drew Chilchucks attention once he finally woke. He tiredly looked over at you as you simply whispered "help me" to which he sighs and stands up, taking sleepy steps towards you and laios as he starts repeatedly smacking laios in the face. "hey laios! wake up your crushing Y/N"

After a few smacks laios's eyes groggily open as he rolls off you, yawning loudly and stretching before looking down and realizing he was laying on top of you. He blushes and rubs the back of his head, saying he was sorry. "sorry, so used to sleeping with my dogs where we would all just lay on top of each other and fall asleep, my bad."

Now that you are free from your meaty blond haired prison, you cant help but laugh at the situation, this was definitely something everyone will be able to make jokes about from here on out.

S4E12 & S4E13 - The Stolen Earth & Journey's End

★★★★☆

This is like Doctor Who: The Greatest Hits and I bloody love it. The Doctor? Check. Companions past and present? Check. Torchword? Daleks? The universe about to blow up again? Check, check and check.

Is this the strongest two-parter finale? No. While The Stolen Earth builds up a very horrifying tension with a decent cliffhanger, in Journey's End there's a very rushed resolution that seems unsatisfying - Donna flicking a couple of switches ends the entire Davros strategy and reality bomb? After entire planets were blinked out of existence? But this is is less about plot and more about character fan service. So I'm reviewing how they ended up.

Jackie and Pete 2.0 - they are together and expecting little Pete 3.0. Cute. 5 stars.

Sarah Jane and her kid - safe at home with K9 and Mr Smith. Love that for them. Sarah Jane got her proper goodbye with the Doctor, finally. 5 stars.

Captain Jack and the Torchwood gang - they live another day to keep saving Wales from more sex aliens. Class. 4 stars.

Martha - fuck you RTD for pairing her up with Mickey the Tin Dog. What happened to being engaged to hot Lucifer doctor?? My girl Martha always with the thankless job. 1 star.

Rose - as if Rose hadn't suffered enough heartbreak on a beach, here we are again. The real Doctor is there and dangled in front of her, but here's his Metacrisis human version that she has to settle for knowing that the real Doctor is going to continue on his adventures again and not with her...again. She gets to fix a man, yippee! It's not the happy ending I remember it being when I watched it as a teen. 2 stars.

Donna - oh Donna. You grew on me so much this season and to have your memories wiped in this way is beyond cruel. Hers is the ending of the series that we mourn. All those adventures in time and space that basically never happened. Because you know she's going back to her dull life in Chiswick where her self-esteem drops and her mum berates her all the time. It was painful and so 4 stars for that.

Pokemon and Hunter x Hunter (with the help of @iwritenarrativesandstuff)...Part 3...after a billion years! I've also finished the anime at this point (yippee!) Thank you again for your input friend and encouraging me to be more active on tumblr. Wing: Tranquil (Ordinary looking birb for the for the ordinary looking guy with the birb related name. ) Zushi: Kubfu (Kid wears a gi 24/7, 365 and you can't change my mind. Kubfu is also a tiny little karate child that happens to look like a bear. It was agreed that they'd get along great.) Gido: Claydol (He spin, Claydol spin.) Sadasso: Dusknoir (He'd probably have a big scary-looking ghost.)

Riehlvelt: Electrivire (Not sure if this one's a stretch, but Electrivire has those ...antennae(?) things that are kinda like the electric whips Riehlvelt uses.)

Kastro: Ninetales (Honestly...it just looks a pokemon he'd have. They're both majestical as fuck.) Cocco: Jigglypuff (Person in voice related profession has pokemon that also uses voice. They'd feed off each other's energy.) Nostrade: Mabosiff (Mabostiff is kinda a family man. Nostrade is a bit of family man, if profiting off his kid's nen ability counts...then yeah.)

Neon: Gothitelle (Pokemon that can see the future for the girl who can also kinda see the future. It also matches her love of creepy/unsettling shit). Baise: Liepard (Purple girl boss cat for the purple girl boss).

For the comics, Achdé art has always been my favourite, not saying that the others aren't good (like them as well)it's just that the expression of the Daltons in it is PRICELESS just look at em :

They look like wet cats whenever they're sad and i love, also just look at William going "yippee" and Averell being a mamas boy look at how happy they look!!i love how he captures the anger with joe aswell , the artstyle is just*muah* chefs kiss even luke looks dupe in it my bbg never looked better.

Moving on to the shows!! Even though not alot of episodes of the new adventure of lucky luke has aired in the channel i was watching on but the Daltons episodes was one of the few that aired , and i just wanted to say that I adore the art style and how it's old comic accurate and how they're face colour change due to their moods:

and ofc how can i talk of the Daltons without mentioning their own spin-off, and yeah i know that the artstyle doesn't look like the original style but I'm thinking that's bc in the 2010s xilam (the studio) had chosen to make the lineart in their works lighter or even remove it.

but tbh i don't care much about it i think it was an amazing show and it has aired all the 2 season in the channel and it's really a funwacth to me to rewacth, love how they gave them more personality especially jack and William they deserved it+ they look so silly in a GOOD way like look at them :

And don't get me started on go west! That movie is a 10/10 one of the best things in the lucky luke franchise, the animation is so smooth and the new characters are so loveable and Luke looked so handsome in the style and ofc the Daltons had their roles in it and they never fail to make me laugh like always and their expressions?? Joe was a whole rabid dog the entire movie and i live for it and for Averell there are NO thoughts behind his eyes, jack and William were just doing nothing but giving worried looks at their brothers but it was kinda funny in a way to me.

Hey! Just found your blog, (yippee!) and saw in your about page you said you like to write about the villains - so if you're still doing the ask game, gotta know about 1 (and if it's cool, 5 & 38 too?) Cheers!

Absolutely! I'd love to answer all three, even:

1. Fave villain?

Definitely Rastapopoulos. He has a lot going on, and I've had a lot of fun unravelling his backstory from archival material. He's the typical mustache-twirling cartoon bad guy who just wants to "take over the world", and he was actually successful at this...but his sole undoing is always just some fucking kid with a little dog. Tintin doesn't want to keep running into Rastapopoulos, but over time the latter keeps getting sloppier and more manic with his planning, so it's just inevitable that he'll eventually get busted. It's a really funny dynamic to me. Like, imagine if some college freshman just set out to do an English assignment, and he accidentally took down El Chapo.

(I secretly wish I was better at drawing Rastapopoulos, though. If I soften his design too much, he looks like a Moomin, or if I make him too realistic in my style, he looks like Mr. Weatherbee. I have to keep training ^^;)

5. Fave thing about the Tintin series?

I love how much lore and hidden continuity there is throughout the series. A lot of characters who went on to become series mainstays actually started as bit characters (i.e. Castafiore's first canon appearance was just a joke about listening to live opera in a closed vehicle), but the Herge Studio crew obviously thought to bring them back for later roles. Over the course of Red Rackham's Treasure, you can almost feel Herge get more attached to Professor Tournesol, turning him from a one-off wacky scientist character (i.e. the various scientists of Shooting Star) to a valued member of the team. Not every detail we see leads to something later on in canon, but it makes for some really fun speculation with other fans.

38. Which is your favourite adventure from Tintin comics and why?

The Calculus Affair feels to me like it has the best blend of drama and comedy. It makes a very tense (faux) historical thriller, and it also has that great scene where Castafiore tricks Colonel Sponsz into giving up a government document...it adds so much to Castafiore's overall character, and it also gives the reader time to breathe in the middle of such a tight story. Sponsz himself also makes for a very ominous, striking main villain in this album.

So since @gingerandcelery has gone off trying to show off ships in The Cradle Of The Snake, I do believe it’s my turn. The audiobook I’ll be going through is Loups-Garoux.

So, firstly we are given information that the main characters/villains are werewolves (yippee). It’s only Turlough and the Doctor in this adventure (GAYMEN) anyway, we see them appearing to the big carnival. Turlough is very excited (most likely to be with his boyfriend) but before this carnival Turlough tries to eat a hamburger but ultimately fails when he finds it disgusting.

Turlough ends up throwing the burger to a nearby dog and then a group of dogs chases the couple.

Anyway, back to the carnival! Turlough and the Doctor are watching the carnival and a lady approaches the Doctor.

“Go on Doctor, get in there!”- Turlough.

(Is it just me or does Turlough sound really drunk?!) Turlough seems to be supporting this idea of getting with a woman, he probably had something weird in his burger or he is in denial. The Doctor and Turlough feel a wave of fear ripple past strong enough to affect both of them. The Doctor leaves Turlough and Turlough ends up seeing a big wolf and he freaks out but the wolf disappears as The Doctor approaches.

“Is Everything alright, Turlough?”

“Y-yes…”

TURLOUGH YOU LITTLE LIAR. Seeing him lie questions the arc of the character and puts him back to when he first joined, but we’ll talk about that later. The Doctor and Turlough rush into the TARDIS and the Doctor materialises roughly onto a moving train.
