#I've been EXHAUSTED these last few days #Ontop of commission work I also have shifts at my job room redecorating and doctor appointments #My anxiety med dosage may have to be altered but I won't know until a few days from now #and whats worse is I have all these amazing ideas for drawings but I can feel burnout approching #We also just celebrated my brothers bday and it's making me feel guilty for still living at home #Pretty much everyone who was in my class at Primary has moved out from home and drives #But I know I'm not in the right headspace or emotionally ready to move out #I don't have a support network and I know mentally I'll struggle #and I feel like shit cuz I still haven't posted anything writing wise and it's just UGH #It's been a lot #Fear of getting older and feeling like you're wasting your life with silly doodles hits rough #Idk I think I just assumed I'd be better at this whole thing in general #life balance and career wise #I'm also just anxious in general about work cuz a co-worker I don't like might be there #Vent #Palette talks #random #Liv

#fave spotting #patrick troughton #the adventures of the scarlet pimpernel #doctor who #classic doctor who #two #itp #itc #1955 #I've had a nice rhythm going lately with pairing a 50 min series (usually The Saint these days‚ tho not for much longer...) with a shorter #25 min one to dip into when I've less time or whatever. with The Adventurer over (adieu and farewell Gene Bradley you insane #multi talented everything) i thought I'd change it up a little and go for a much earlier itc series for a different tone. so early in fact #that they weren't even ITC yet; the company was then known as the Incorporated Television Programme Company‚ ITP for short‚ but be not #fooled; this is in every way the Lew Grade led company that would come to dominate the commercial tv world in the decades to follow #The Adventures of Robin Hood is usually identified as the first ITC production but in fact it beat this series to the screen by only #3 days and the two shows were presumably in production simultaneously. Hood went on to be the making of ITC and Lew Grade and lasted #a whopping 143 episodes over 4 years; Pimpernel made it to only 18 despite being planned as a 39 part series (standard length for these #early itc shows). exactly what went wrong i dont know; Goring was heavily involved in production as well as starring and maybe that played #a part‚ or maybe the popular success of Hood meant this show was no longer affordable. idk im just speculating but from #what I've seen it's fairly fun. starting on ITV just a week after the network commenced transmission‚ it's safe to say this didn't capture #the public imagination like Hood did and it does seem to have been rather forgotten about. Pat is actually a series regular and these #pics come from a few different eps among the first few. he isn't in the very first (nor is the Pimpernel's other faithful companion #played by Anthony Newlands) and i do wonder if that was a pilot (it has Robert Shaw as the Pimpernel's right hand and to my #knowledge he doesn't reappear; he'd make up for it with a starring role in one of ITC's next series‚ The Buccaneers #but yes he's here and he's fantastic and gets to be dashing and heroic (tho never moreso than Goring of course). he's also the one of the #three heroes who best suits the powdered hair look (Newlands looks quite unfortunate). and of course i know what im doing with that #last shirtless pic.. you're welcome Pat girlies (gender neutral)#maybe I'll make another post after I've seen a few more eps but i wasn't going to commit to a Pat post for every episode im afraid

My aunt decided a good way to wish me a happy birthday would be to text me a picture of me & my dead dad from my 22nd birthday.

Like yay thanks, I totally wanted to be sad and missing my dad on my birthday. I definitely wasn't trying to do the "out of sight out of mind don't think about sad things" thing to get through it without crying or anything 👍 Definitely wasn't already struggling missing not getting a happy birthday text from him 👍👍

#and like I get that her intentions were good but i find it SO rude #why would you bring up something heart wrenchingly sad to someone on their birthday? Unless they've indicated to you that they want that #it wasn't even like it was a new picture/one she could reasonably believe I hadn't seen before #we literally used a cropped version of that exact photo for his obituary #she has done something similar with EVERY SINGLE holiday since he died #fathers day & his birthday & thanksgiving & christmas all of them we got texts like “i know how hard today must be!”#like uh no i was doing fine til I got your text actually cuz I was blocking it all out & now your text has forced me to think about it #we're not even that close? Like she legit had never texted me before my dad died #and the last conversation I had with her was her telling me that me needing help with things was co-dependence #rather than a legit need because I am disabled #and that keeping my curtains closed all the time was unhealthy #and when I tried to explain sensory issues she said that she 'gets headaches from the sun sometimes too but you just have to power through'#as if that's the same thing as sensory issues from autism #(which she is apparently an expert on because she is a nurse and has worked with a few young boys with autism)#like literally she claimed she knew better than my actual doctor who diagnoses autism for a living #or my therapist who sees me twice a week (whereas i speak to my aunt MAYBE once a year)#oh also did you know that I should totally be able to hold down a full time job?#because the 18 year old autistic boy she knows whose parents do literally everything to support him and who has zero other responsibilities #and a huge support network trying to meet his needs #well HE'S able to work part time at the movie theater #so obviously that means that I should be able to work too because we're all the same #yeah anyway sorry rant over #it just really upset me #also because I was so upset I forgot I wanted to go to the park on my way home from the weed store 😔#beth posts

#pov u grow up in a 3rd world country(/planet) where healthcare workers are exported by the thousands like cheap produce to richer countries #it's your ticket out of poverty as long as you can deal with the loneliness the separation from everyone you know the discrimination etc #ive never talked about my hc that vespas mother was one of them sending money every month visiting every couple of years until it just stop #like why return to the swamps when youre doing fine working on a richer planet w much better living conditions #cost of living rises every year. sending home a % of your salary used to be enough to support your husband and daughter and then it isnt #you know how it goes #vespa is also dead set on this path until ranga realizes that hemorrhaging healthcare workers leaves them with little to none of their own #students on scholarships or in community/state universities are bound by return service agreements and are forbidden to leave the country #until theyve rendered a few years of work on ranga to pay back their tuition + as a really shitty solution to the brain drain problem #this is real in my country btw but my professors say a lot of ppl do break their rsa's and fucked off to work in other countries LOL #our state unis can barely afford decent facilities they do nottt have the budget to chase down their own alumni in other countries!#but the mental image is a bit funny #vespa ilkays first crime: tinakasan ang rsa #i do also think it lines up with her having a network of med friends everywhere in the galaxy (heart of it all) you kind of go into pre/med #expecting most of your classmates to leave to work in other countries eventually. mine are aiming for the usa / uae / europe / japan etc #anyway whether vespa breaks her rsa or not she leaves ranga asap decides to switch careers and the rest is history #i also deeply love the fact that she's superstitious i'm very sad it wasn't highlighted more (i've only heard s1-3)#as someone who did grow up in a rural area and went to more albularyos/folk healers than doctors in my childhood. (they never failed me)#lots of folk illnesses (ex. balis; pasma) local medical superstitions (dont eat noodles in hospital; youll have a really toxic shift) etcc #theres also a lot of potential in tying her past as a rangian + med student + assassin to me idk how to word this properly #being raised on cautionary tales of not to touch/disturb anything in the swamps then being given free reign to poke & prod at things in her #lab classes (now with the proper ppe)....she was having so much fun with the curemother prime too lmao #years of walking hanging bridges docks boathouses in ranga etc gave her great balance & stealth #cracking open alien shellfish in the swamps to cutting open bodies for studying then for assassination....#I MISS HER SO MUCH BALIK KN SAKEN 😭😭😭😭😭😭#i get why most people + the canon focuses on her being an assassin bc people find that cooler i guess #but vespa being a swamp girl > 3rd world med student > assassin is so personal To Me. the whole pipeline. eugh.#skl.txt

I wasn't expecting the one where the Doctor is standing on a landmine all episode long to end up being my happy place this season but here we are.

"Boom" was stressful but not as stressful for me personally as "Space Babies" (because babies in danger is hard). "The Devil's Chord" was stressful and didn't gel for me in the way that it clearly did for a lot of people. "73 Yards" is MEANT to mess with your mind every which way. And as for "Dot and Bubble"... I will absolutely sit breathless while people are trying to escape the monster of the week, I am very basic... But oh man, that ending. That hit hard.

Older generations and their obsession with weight is crazy. Like i was talking to my mom about my dietary changes that im doing to fix my digestive issues shes just like oh you look better youve lost weight. Like this was not at all the point of this. I just want my digestion to work correctly i dont care about that.

#she means well but its kinda triggering tbh #the entire reason my diet was so bad was bc i genuinely thought that was the best thing i could do to avoid an ed relapse #to clarify i mean in the sense of eating whatever i wanted and not worrying about the effects on health #which i was aware was a subpar option but i thought it was the best since every time i tried to change my diet to be “healthier”...#...it just devolved into ed behavior #obviously that didnt turn out well and it was a bad idea but bringing the subject of weight up in that scenario just isnt it #of course she doesnt really know i had an eating disorder in the first place but thats a whole other topic #but she is actually trying to be helpful about these issues and is going to help me set up a doctors appointment bc im kinda daunted by...#...the whole process especially when it comes to making sure the doctor in question is in network #our heathcare system is bad and needs to change which is a big part of why i was so vocal about bernie in the 2020 election #obviously its a little late for that but hopefully we can elect a president in 2028 who will help make substantial change #its definitely not going to be from the president elect with concepts of a plan for healthcare #but thats also off topic #eating disorders.#ask to tag #turning off reblogs bc i dont want people posting my vent about my personal heath problems on their own blogs lol #not that i think people would but just in case
