First post in a while. I have since made many things, but for now have my Godzilla work. The First King of the Monsters, The original Godzilla. He first rose from the depths in 1954. He suffered great pain from the nuclear bomb testing's in Bikini Atoll. He took his pain and wrath out on the people of Japan, or any unfortunate neough to find themselves at sea in his territory. He terrorized Japan for years, occasionally battling off other gargantuan monstrosities in his time, before his inevitable demise. He was killed by the Oxygen Destroyer, a super weapon created by the late doctor Daisuke Serizawa, who took his own life after destroying his work on the Oxygen destroyer to keep it from being recreated.
The Second King of the Monsters, Godzilla Though Godzilla perished in the 70's with the first and only ever use of the Oxygen Destroyer, his offspring survived. Godzilla Sr.'s offspring, simply called Godzilla during his time, had taken to his mutations much more easily than his father. Though he was born in his current form, and his body had adapted to its current form so he lived without pain, he knew the ones responsible for leaving him alone, without his father. In 1985, this Godzilla surfaced to unleash his own fury on Japan. Tho he was still destructive, after a few years he settled into life on Infant Island, and only came to Japan when he felt his territory was endangered. He died when his internal nuclear reactor had a melt down, irradiating all of Infant Island.
The Prince of the Monsters, Godzilla Junior The current Godzilla, and son of the previous. It's unknown where he, or his father, came from, but his presence on Infant Island was known prior to Godzilla's death. The radiation from his Father's death empowered him, allowing him to grow into a more powerful form. Jr. is notably more agile and faster than his father and grandfather were, having adapted perfectly to his new form. His atomic breath is also considerably more powerful than both of his predecessors. Unlike his family, Jr. never grew to hate humanity. Though he does not go out of his way for the express purpose of saving man kind, he doesn't actively seek its destruction.
The Golden Demise, King Ghidorah. A three headed alien from an unknown planet. He ofund his way to the Solar System landing on Venus. He eradicated all life on the planet, draining the energy from all of the beings on the planet, before moving on to the next planet, Earth. King Ghidorah however did not expect the planet to be crawling with other, equally large, equally deadly monsters, and often found himself unable to drain the life from Earth. Most often he would face either Mothra or Godzilla, the pair eventually forcing him to flee back into space, before Godzilla's death. Once he has absorbed enough energy, he plans to return to Earth and finally wipe out all life on the Planet.
Multi-Puprose Fighting System 3, Mecha Godzilla With the ever rising presence of giant monsters across the world, the people of Earth came together with a plan to deal with them. The UN formed the AMF, Anti Megalosaurus Force. This military force was made to combat any and all giant monsters that appear, when they appear. The AMF, using state of the art tech, advanced computers, and the bones of the original Godzilla as a base to work off of, created the Multi-Purpose fighting System 3, or Mecha Godzilla. It is piloted by a single person remotely. Mecha Godzilla comes with numerous armaments. On its right arm is a pair of rail guns. The base structure of the rail guns can also extend an electrically charged blade. The left arm comes equipped with the most powerful Maser Cannon ever built. Mounted on either shoulder is a more recently created weapon, high power twin plasma cannons, designed with the purpose of burning through hardened shells. Finally, the most powerful of Mecha Godzilla's abilities is dubbed the Proton Scream, a beam fired from the mouth with enough power put into it to slice many monsters clean in half. This ability is rarely used due to the amount of power it consumes. Though the machine has no life nor will of it's own, many of maintenance crew believe it to be haunted, often making reports of it moving, or activating on its own. One particular report from an engineer claims that Mecha Godzilla came online and watched the Engineer as they worked. These reports are unsubstantiated and assumed to be untrue.
Type 1 Maser Tank The original Maser Tanks invented in the late 60's to deter Godzilla Senior prior to his death. The technology has improved considerably since then, with modern Maser Tanks having a minimum power output nearly double the maximum of the Type 1's.
Size comp of Mecha-G, Ghidorah, Sr., Goji, and Jr.

I'm coming back to my Justice League of Canada ideas again. Because seriously, I have close to 70 or 80 ideas for this thing saved in my phone. So let's try and share more. I left off with a cliffhanger regarding Issue #42, so here's the beginning of the resolution of that storyline.
Issue #43: After Issue 42's dramatic conclusion, the comic goes on hiatus. Because there's three seperate solo comics I need to write in order to give people context: there's the miniseries about Jemm, Son of Saturn, some of the events of which I covered in my note on Jemm. But there's also William Nielsen's solo comic, the story of a normal human man discovering his life is a lie and then having to cope with really being a powerful android, and there's The Question series. Because we need to introduce Vic Sage to audiences too. So these three series (plus maybe a solo series for the phantom stranger or for the green lantern corps) are definitely necessary reading before reading Justice League Canada #43, hence the book going on a 7 month hiatus.
This hiatus would be addressed in other books, though. In the pages of The Protectors, Martian Manhunter admits to having an uneasy feeling regarding his old team's safety, while Doctor Fate warns him they can't meddle in the affairs of that other team. It's a conflict of gods, and we're not yet involved… Red Tornado and Captain Marvel/Shazam both admit to having concerns about their old team in the pages of the Justice Society and Squadron of Justice comics, too.
But now to the actual plot of the story: the Justice League has been missing for 7 months. People have been concerned, but nobody's been able to find anything out of place. It's just like they've all vanished into thin air. People just assume they're off on a mission though, so alarm bells haven't immediately started going off.
But this is when things get even more interesting. Enter our five protagonists: Jemm Bhokanius, the Son of Saturn and King of the Solar Federation. William Nielsen and Willow, an android and a mystical martial artist who refuses to disclose her past. Sam Heartsea, an old member of the team who was off on a leave of absence. And The Question, otherwise known as Vic Sage, a skilled investigative journalist and media personality on canadian news stations like the CBC.
All five of them are here for different reasons, though: Jemm came to earn earth's goodwill (so they'd join the solar federation) by serving on the Justice League for three years. William Nielsen was an android built to infiltrate the Justice League Canada. Although he turned on his creators, William realized the league is all that connects him to life. So he thought he might as well go see them. Willow and her child Sequoiah go with William, just because Willow sees a kindred spirit in William. Sam was coming back to the league after his months long hiatus meditating back in Newfoundland. And The Question was the only one of these five aware of the League vanishing, so he broke into their headquarters (disregarding government regulations), all so he could get answers.
But none of these five expected to see each other here. So they almost all end up fighting and turning on each other, before they eventually come to their senses and tell each other who they are. But then the real villian makes himself known: it's Chronos, that C-list villian of The Atom. But something seems different about him. Something…sinister. And before anyone knows what's going on, they all begin to disappear too. And this story will be continued over the course of the next few issues…
1. Jemm, Son of Saturn
2. The Question (Vic Sage)
3. William Nielsen
4. Willow/Mantis
5. The Admiral (Sam Heartsea)
Issue #44: Let me now explain what's going on. The C-List Supervillian known as Chronos has actually gotten himself possesed by the spirit of the Titan Kronos/Saturn, and Saturn's planning schemes of world domination. His big plan is to mess with the timestream. On other worlds or in other times he's tried other schemes (like the second titan war of of the Percy Jackson series), but he knows better now. He'll merely exile superheroes to the past or to his altered future. Meanwhile, he's going to go about recruiting an army of supervillians…
But now for the plot of this issue: We join William Nielsen and Willow, who's found themselves in a dystopian future world, oppressed by massive armies. While trying to fend for their lives, these two find a resistance movement, being partially led by Booster Gold. Turns out Chronos exiled him here too, and so he's been stuck leading rebellions in a dystopian future for the past few months. For once, Booster Gold's boasts about from the future have actually come true.
But now William, Willow and Booster are stuck trying to figure out how to escape from a life in this far future world. Since there's no clear way out, they just have to play along by trying to restore freedom to all the oppressed humans under Saturn's control in this future world. But this issue would leave them still trapped in the far future, since we'll need someone with powerful magics to get involved and free them later.
1. William Nielsen
2. Willow/Mantis
3. Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)

The Edge of Destruction
season 001 : story 003 : episodes 012-013
08 - 15 FEB 1964 || 27 - 28 JAN 2023
EPISODE ONE
This is possibly due to the story being so short, making the dialogue more distinct, but my god the dialogue here is great. The paranoia over whether there’s something intruding in the ship is well done, and everyone’s acting.. off.. after being knocked out definitely adds to the tension. \
Ian absentmindedly making observations of the Doctor is just so funny – just robotically pointing at the Doctor passed out on the floor asking “who’s that”.
The music at the start of the episode is really quite eerie, which matches quite well to the shadowy, claustrophobic story – “I never noticed the shadows before. It's so silent on the ship”. In light of some serials potentially being colourised for the 60th anniversary… this wouldn’t work nearly as well if it weren’t in black and white.
As The Daleks was Ian’s big moment for going up against the Doctor, this is Barbaras;
“How dare you! Do you realise, you stupid old man, that you'd have died in the Cave of Skulls if Ian hadn't made fire for you? [...] And what about what we went through against the Daleks? Not just for us, but for you and Susan too. And all because you tricked us into going down to the city. [...] Accuse us? You ought to go down on your hands and knees and thank us. But gratitude's the last thing you'll ever have, or any sort of common sense either”. Jacqueline Hill’s performance builds to the great writing, and the scene becomes pure gold.
The Doctor continuing to be a try-hard cryptic and one-liner is evermore enjoyable; “Frankly, Doctor, I find it hard to keep pace with you” – “You mean to keep one jump ahead. That you will never be. You need my knowledge and ability to apply it, and then you need my experience to gain the fullest results”. Him trying to get out of apologising to Barbara saying there’s no need for such “rash action” is hilarious.
EPISODE TWO
While episode one had all the great dialogue based conflict, this has the sciency reasoning behind everything and despite how out there and bizarre it is… I kinda love it..? The mass of a solar system gravitationally attracting the energy inside the TARDIS core? Alright. The TARDIS preemptively stopping itself from flying to its destruction and causing a sort of time lock? Moffat might owe part of his first season to this. The quick return switch has a broken spring allowing for the fault detector to correctly say there’s no technological fault in the ships’ equipment.. a great resolution to the story’s mystery. And about the previously mentioned mass of a solar system attracting the TARDIS’ energy… “I know. I know. I said it would take the force of a total solar system to attract the power away from my ship. We're at the very beginning, the new start of a solar system. Outside, the atoms are rushing towards each other. Fusing, coagulating, until minute little collections of matter are created. And so the process goes on, and on until dust is formed. Dust then becomes solid entity. A new birth; of a sun and its planets”. The cinematography of this scene; the Doctor leaning backwards against the control column with incredible shadows all around him as he narrates this scientific process to the audience… chef’s kiss. It’s gorgeous.
I really like the ending of this story; as previously mentioned, Doctor Who likely would’ve just had these first 13 episodes if not for the immediate chokehold Dalekmania had on the public. Possibly influenced by that, this feels very.. season-finale-esq; the Doctor has made his apologies to Ian and Barbara, and although they’re not enthusiastic about their situation, they’ve seemingly embraced it – all of them donning large winter coats to go out exploring while Susan runs into the ship and attacks them with snow. They just have this very organic familial feeling and I absolutely love it.
So yeah this is definitely my favourite broadcast story so far (counting An Unearthly Child's broadcast first epsiode as it's own story is the only possibility for competition).
★★★★½
