I wonder if my customers EVER look at me while I'm checking them in and feel any level of remorse for breaking the "no pets in the loan car" rule
#yes I am the person who cleans your fucking dog shed#put down a fucking dog mat. put them in the trunk. WALK YOUR DOG WITH YOUR FEET.#once they fix the system and we can tack on damage and cleaning fees on these fucking people#like yall realize we are letting you BORROW a BRAND NEW CAR for FREE#have some fucking respect#also lose the entitlement. be fucking grateful you get a car at all#I have the right to refuse to give a customer the loan car#it's finicky bc I need actual reportable reason so I can't say no bc I don't like the vibes#and reportable reason doesn't include ''customer car is fucking disgusting''#a customer made the mistake of telling me she just had a traumatic brain injury#but the ones I fucking loathe are those who bring their dog to pick up their loan car#like at least try to hide it. seriously.#I'd rather you bring that shit back with zero gas than you put your dog in my cars#three cars out of the fleet already this year because fucking dogs fucked up the inside#do they realize we still have to turn around and sell these cars?#it is AMAZING how much damage a single dog can do#btw I love dogs. @wikwalker hi sure yes anything to give me an excuse to procrastinate the post i should be writing right now. here are all teh drugs and how to manage them. you can trust me, a drug addict
first of all: https://www.erowid.org/ , erowid always
don't be afraid of drugs, if they're the right drugs, you should do them since they will be a blast regardless and overcoming fear is also good (but outside the scope here)
OK to do as much as you want: alcohol - social benefit greatly outweighs health effects, no reason to avoid if predisposed to abuse since that'll happen sooner or later. what can i say? don't be a fucking dork. when you start drinking, really overdo it as much as possible without dying and get a few real nasty hangovers under your belt so you know how much is the right amount to drink.
weed - innocuous enough to be fine but will make you stupid in the long term. make sure to only buy from a real drug dealer and never some legal institution. cut it out when you're a "real adult". don't smoke weed and watch TV routinely, go out and do things so you naturally grow to hate it. good to go through this as early as possible to minimize the time you spend as a cringe weed enthusiast
i guess those are the only two.
ok to do infrequently (annually): "lsd" - or whatever it is, probably not lsd, blah blah blah, if it works and is sold on blotter its fine and won't make you go nuts or whatever. opt for a better psychadelic imo. see psych rule at bottom of section
mushrooms - better than acid since you know what they are. rule of thumb is to always do more than you think you want. minimum 1/8oz. see psych rule at bottom of post
dmt - if you somehow have a dmt hookup you don't need to be reading any of this. lasts 10 minutes which leads to tendency to way overdo it, don't do this, my favorite webcomic artist is permanently crazy from exactly that. using a crack pipe is also not the uhhhh most dignifying-feeling thing to do either. it's harder than you think.
mdma - for use at electronic music event or rave. overuse causes brain lesions or something.
coke - wait until you're in your 20s, have maxed out your roth IRA for a couple of years in a row, and havent missed a car payment in a similar timeframe. better still if you've worked a very shitty low paying job and know the value of a dollar. if you still find yourself buying candy you're not ready. too expensive to be worth it to get hooked on. know that you are VERY ANNOYING to anyone who also isn't high. don't fuck around with the guy selling it to you. avoid discussing or thinking about business ideas. you can't afford to make it a habit + kinda turns you into a piece of shit after a while, but at least a very interesting one
ketamine - another sick drug that rules, but save it for a special occasion. don't try and go into the k-hole your first time
rule for psychedelics - you get one good strong trip a year and that's it, make it count, always opt for doing a bit more than a bit less. but don't make it a habit, otherwise you turn into a very stupid very annoying "hippy" style cliché and believe in ghosts, aliens, crap like that.
ok to try once prescription opiates/benzodiazepine (xanax), valium, this kind of shit - worth trying so you can go "holy shit, this stuff is way way way too good to ever use responsibly" and then never do again. especially if you're white. for some reason we just can't handle this shit. if a doctor prescribes it to you, idk, that's your call to make.
ayhuasca - this is just dmt in a different form. do some other psychadelics a number of times before you do this. once you realize the whole "substantial visual hallucinations" thing is made up, its time. do exactly this: -buy root online (legal). receive box of dirt -boil dirt into "tea" (read erowid for exact recipe) -take over-the-counter anti nausea medicine or anything that will give you a stronger stomach -drink tea (its nasty as fuck, get it down quick) -have someone bigger than you keep an eye on you for the next five hours. -have the experience, which is absurdly intense, has no bearing to the real world, etc etc. don't be a bitch and throw up, if you do it'll only last an hour or so. again there is no way to provide a consistent description of the experience except that you will meet god. you only ever need to do this once and never again. trust me
peyote/salvia/etc - try em if you want, you'll never ever want to again afterwords. these are drugs for idiot teenagers too lame to get real drugs. imagine being very very sick from poison and utterly terrified at the same time. No good
whippets/nitrous oxide - just find a dentist that uses it and don't bother creating hundreds of pounds of trash on your floor for this crap that lasts ten seconds. you have to understand the extremely short timeframe coupled with the cost makes zero sense. go to a phish concert parking lot and do some people watching -- you do not want to be these people. only use is as a motivator to get routine dental exam. also if you somehow manage to make it a heavy habit your fucking legs stop working, no shit, but they start working again once you quit.
don't ever do heroin/meth/pcp - is is truly a mystery why you should never do these 🙄
synthetic weed/k2/shit from the gas station - it is so funny that they sell this as "weed that won't pop you on a drug test". its not weed. it is some dubious chemical sprayed on yard waste. smoke it to have a terrible time and go nuts. only buy drugs from legitimate drug dealers!
kratom - anyone's guess as to why this is legal but it's heroin for pussies. its still heroin
dxm/cough syrup - do you ever wonder why it is exclusively teenagers robotripping? it's because it sucks ass. is like a cheesegrater on your brain in terms of health effects with repeated usage. you're better than this king
inhalants - these are at the bottom of the list for a reason. do not huff gas. don't huff paint. do not consume computer duster. not fun + fastest way to make yourself a complete, uh, (word i can't say anymore) and then dead
not listed quaaludes- unavailable due to no longer being manufactured. these ruled apparantly
sincis2c - unavailable due to not existing, i just made this up
amphetamines - cannot provide objective take here. they're my albatross, lifelong (posted 4:55am natch)

You always thought you were pretty good at giving dating advice. It’s easier when you’re not the one doing the dating, right? That’s how it all started with Jungkook. You two were chilling at your apartment one lazy Sunday afternoon when you suddenly blurted out, “Why are you still single, Jungkook? You’re amazing, good-looking, and fun. You should at least be on like three different dating apps.”
He laughed, running a hand through his hair in that effortlessly cool way he always did. “Dunno' just haven’t found the right person,” he said with a smile that made you heart do a weird little flip. “I don’t think I’m good at dating, haha.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you shot back, sitting up. “Let's make you an account. We’ll get you some matches in no time.”
He hesitated for a second, then shrugged. “Sure, let's do it.”
And that’s how you ended up setting up his profile, not realizing that this would be the beginning of the end of your denial and the start of a love story you never saw coming.
You grabbed his phone and he settled onto the couch next to you. “Okay, first things first. We need some killer photos. Let’s start with your main picture.”
You opened the camera app. You sat there, looking at his phone for a minute before he let out a loud laugh.
You looked up. “What is it?"
He grinned, pointing at something behind you. "It's just Tae taking a picture of us setting up a dating profile," Jungkook said, chuckling.
You turned around to see Taehyung standing in the doorway, holding his phone up with a huge grin on his face. "Don't mind me," Taehyung sang out, winking at the two of you. "Just capturing this for posterity."
Tae showed Jungkook the picture and a fit of laughter erupted again, now from the two of them. "Your face! You look so focused and super serious right now."
Rolling your eyes, you lightly smacked his arm. "This is serious business! We need to find the perfect picture to reel in all the potential matches."
Then you started browsing through his photo gallery to curate the most attractive selection of pictures.
There you had him on the gym doing weights, him on his boxing gear, with his dogs, him doing the dishes with a strangely tight black shirt, a few selfies on his car, with his motorcycle. You could sell a whole album with his photos, how on earth would you do him justice and only choose 10 of them?
"Why is this so hard?"
Jungkook chuckled. "Because you're not choosing photos for a profile, you're trying to find a reason to stare at me and my body for too long."
"Boy, I'm trying to help you here, and if I'm gonna do it, I might as well do this like a professional matchmaker." You retorted.
His eyebrows furrowed. "When have you ever paired someone up?"
You smiled smugly. "That's none of your business, Jeon."
"It is, actually, since you're helping me with this thing."
"Fine, if you must know, I hooked up one my friend's older sister with my college roommate."
"Really? How did that go?" He asked, curious.
"Pretty well, they've been together for a couple years now." You answered, still going through his photos.
"Wasn't your college roommate that guy with the blue hair?" He asked, his tone changing slightly.
"Uh-huh, why?"
"Wasn't he the guy you were dating during our third year?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that."
"How can you forget about him?" He sounded annoyed. "You spent an entire week crying in my bed because he broke up with you."
"Oh my god, did I? I don't recall." You were playing dumb, of course you remembered but there was no need to talk about that. "What do you think of this one?" It was a shirtless picture, point blank.
"I think you look kinda slutty but everyone's gonna eat it up, you'll get a date in no time." You continued.
"I am not posting a shirtless picture, are you crazy?" He snatched the phone from your hand.
"Well, it's not like we're gonna sell the damn picture, it's just your torso and the picture is really nice, you look good, I don't know why you're making such a fuss."
He didn't say anything, just looked at you.
"What? I'm complimenting you, it's the truth." You rolled your eyes.
"Okay, thank you." He was blushing.
"Are you blushing?" You asked, amused.
"No, it's just really hot in here." He took off his hoodie, throwing it somewhere in your living room.
You didn't even realize how close he was sitting next to you. It wasn't like it was the first time he'd been on your couch, but something felt different today. It was strange.
All the photos that you chose showcased different aspects of Jungkook's personality. Each photo told a story about him - his love for his dogs, his passion for staying active, his playful side with silly selfies. As you scrolled through his gallery, you couldn't help but notice the genuine smile on his face in many of the pictures, a smile that seemed to light up the whole world.
After him putting up a fight on choosing his favorite photos of him, next you had to write him something for his bio.
Jungkook leaned in closer to read over your shoulder.
"This is stupid, what do you want me to write? My name, my age, my occupation?" He was whining.
"Yes, those things obviously, but also things like, I don't know a joke or something to sum up your personality. I want them to know you're fun and cute, mind-blowingly good at everything, something along those lines."
"I am mind-blowingly good at everything." He said, his tone confident.
You rolled your eyes.
"So let's say, what if I write 'shit i'd date the hell out of me', you like it?" You asked him with a smile.
He laughed. "I do, I really do."
"Okay, it's settled." You wrote down the phrase, and a bunch of things about him.
"Now we just have to add something that will hook them up."
"Like what?"
"I don't know, just be honest. Just, don't write that you're looking for a girl to have sex with."
"But I am looking for a girl to have sex with." Blank expression on his face.
"You are so dumb sometimes." You threw a pillow at his face.
He caught it mid-air. "God, you know I'm not look— this was YOUR IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE!" He yelled, trying to defend himself.
"Yeah, but, just write something that will make you look not like a manwhore."
He thought for a moment. "I know, I got it."
"Okay, shoot."
"I'm a manwhore." He had the brightest smile.
"Oh, for the love of..." You couldn't help but laugh at his antics. "Alright, fine. If that's what you want to go with, who am I to stop you?"
You two were done, and he was already getting notifications.
"Woah, that was... surprisingly fast." He was surprised, and you were proud of yourself.
"Of course, you're hot and cute. We don't see your type in dating apps very often."
He gave you a weird look, you couldn't quite figure out. "Thanks?"
"No worries, I'm sure you'll find someone in no time." You patted him on the back as you were getting up and ready to go to the kitchen and make some dinner. "See who you like and I'll help you on how to ask them on a date."
"Okay." He smiled.
"What are you smiling at? Are you looking at them already?"
"Yeah, I'm trying to see which one of these girls will be our first victim."
"Don't call them victims." You laughed.
The truth is that Jungkook only agreed to this because he loves spending time with you.
As you busied yourself in the kitchen, Jungkook couldn't shake the warmth spreading through his chest. He scrolled through the notifications on his phone, half-heartedly swiping left and right. His mind wasn't on finding a date; it was on you.
He couldn't believe he agreed to this. Making a profile on Tinder just to humor the best friend he was in love with, seemed harmless at first, but now, seeing the app light up with potential matches, he felt burdened. He wasn't here to date. He was here because he wanted to be closer to you, even if it meant pretending to search for someone else.
Each time a new message popped up, he found himself wondering if you'd approve. Would you laugh at the cheesy pickup lines together? Would you help him craft witty responses? He realized he didn't care about meeting any of these girls; he only cared about spending time with you.
But as much as he tried to focus on the dating app in front of him, his thoughts kept drifting back to you. To the way you laughed and teased him, to the way you always seemed to know what he needed even when he didn't realize it himself. Jungkook found himself longing for something he couldn't quite name, a feeling that stirred deep within him whenever he was near you.
He sighed, setting his phone down on the coffee table as he leaned back on the couch because he didn't bother looking through any of the profiles. Instead he made his way to the kitchen, where you were standing over a pot, stirring absentmindedly.
He stepped up behind you, watching as you stirred. His chest was warm, and he had a strange urge to wrap his arms around you and nuzzle his nose into your neck.
"Hey," he said, his voice soft.
You turned your head slightly, not looking at him but smiling. "Hey."
Jungkook took a step closer, placing his hand over yours. "Let me help," he said.
You handed him the wooden spoon, your fingers brushing against his in the exchange. He stirred the pot gently, mirroring the way he wanted to handle your heart. Neither of you spoke, the only sound filling the room was the clinking of utensils against the pot.
"You okay there?" Your voice broke through his daydreaming.
He answered you softly while running a hand through his hair nervously. "Yeah, just... thinking."
As the aroma of the dish wafted through the air, you felt his warmth seeping into you, comforting and familiar. You couldn't ignore the heavy tension that hung between you, thick like a fog.
He cleared his throat, breaking the spell. "So... what do we do now?" His voice was low, almost a whisper.
You turned around to face him, his eyes searching yours for answers neither of you dared to voice. "We eat dummy," you said with a laugh.
You and Jungkook sat down for dinner, the tension from earlier still lingering between you. As you ate, you caught each other stealing glances when the other wasn't looking.
"So...have you looked at any of the matches yet?" you asked, trying to break the silence.
Jungkook shifted in his seat. "A few, but no one really caught my eye," he said evasively.
You nodded, poking at your food. "Well if you see anyone you like, let me know. I want to help."
"Thanks, I will," Jungkook said with a small smile.
You returned the smile weakly, a pang in your chest at the thought of Jungkook dating someone else. You had pushed the feelings down for so long, not wanting to jeopardize your friendship. But your dumb decision of making him a dating profile forced you to confront how you really felt.
After you finished eating together, Jungkook helped you with the dishes. You dried off your hands, and he was ready to leave. Almost as if he was on a rush.
"Thanks for making dinner," he said with a smile.
You nodded. "Of course, you know I love having you over."
You stood at the door awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
Jungkook cleared his throat. "I'll text you," he said.
You gave him a thumbs-up, your voice coming out more high-pitched than normal. "Yeah, cool. See ya later."
He chuckled and leaned down to give you a hug. You wrapped your arms around him, breathing in his scent. You held him a little longer than necessary, wanting to memorize the feeling of his arms enveloping you.
Jungkook's hand lingered on your shoulder as he pulled away.
"Goodnight," he said softly, his thumb brushing against your cheek before he turned to leave. You watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside you. As the door closed behind him, you leaned against it, aching with the realization that you might have just pushed away the one person who meant more to you than just a friend.
If only you had the courage to do something.
The following week, you found yourself cleaning your house, the mess had piled up and you had a bunch of your clothes all over the place and that's when you found Jungkook's hoodie from last week. It had fallen between your couch and the wall, so you pulled it out with a considerable amount of force. That's when his iPod fell to the ground.
He still uses this thing? The corners of your mouth turned up involuntarily as you recalled teasing him about the ancient device.
You were surprised, most people uses their phones, or maybe he still has this thing because it was a present from you. If you hadn't seen it you wouldn't have remembered that you had given him this iPod for Christmas like 7 years ago.
You took the device in your hand and turned it on. You figured it would be nice to hear his playlists while you kept cleaning.
You should have just connected it and played it on shuffle. But I guess humans are very nosey creatures. Creatures who love to go through someone else's things, just to see another hidden side of said person.
So, like any other normal human being, you opened his lists, and started to go through them.
"Golden mix", "Euphoria", "OST's". Those were pretty standard. "Lonely nights" a bit of a stretch, "Best of the 00s", "Dance party" and "Songs to sing along". Fork found in kitchen. And there was one more playlist that caught your attention.
Simply labeled with— "Your name."
Your heart started beating faster. What is this?
You opened the playlist and you were welcomed by a list of what it seemed like... love songs.
The first one was "Best Friend". You didn't know what to think. Why did he have a playlist with songs like "Kiss me" by Matt Maltese, "Mountains" by Charlotte Day Wilson, "Making Time" by Rex Orange County. All love songs.
Then it hit you. He's in love.
You started panicking. Your heart racing with thoughts you couldn't ignore any longer. The playlist named after you echoed in your mind.
You couldn't believe it. Jungkook, your best friend, the one who always seemed so casual and carefree, had a playlist dedicated to you filled with love songs. Your mind raced as you tried to process this new information. Was it possible that he felt the same way you did? That the tension between you wasn't one-sided after all?
You sat down on the couch, still holding his iPod in your hands. The weight of it felt heavier now, as if it held all the unspoken words and emotions that had been swirling between you and Jungkook. You couldn't bring yourself to put it down; instead, you scrolled through the playlist again, each song title tugging at your heartstrings.
A sense of warmth washed over you, mingled with fear and uncertainty. What should you do now? Should you confront Jungkook about the playlist, lay all your cards on the table and risk changing everything between you? Or should you keep quiet, pretend you never stumbled upon this precious list?
You knew there was something going on, you weren't stupid. But you couldn't bring yourself to accept the possibility that the guy you love, might like you back. It's easier to pretend like nothing is happening. You have built this whole imaginary life with him in your head, but not once did you consider that it might be a two-way street.
"I already said I'm in love with you Can't you hear me? Why do you act like you don't? You know well the spark in my eyes when I look at you Can't you see it? Why do you act like you don't?"
You had been listening to the song on repeat for an hour. It was stuck in your head. Your heart was aching.
The reality was finally sinking in.
"He's in love with me," you whispered to yourself, the realization hitting you like a tidal wave. It explained so much—his kindness, his attentiveness, even his willingness to go along with making a stupid profile for a stupid dating app. But you had built walls around your heart, afraid to acknowledge the possibility that your feelings were reciprocated.
You felt a surge of emotions, a mix of joy and fear swirling inside you. Jungkook's unspoken confession through his playlist left you feeling exposed and vulnerable, yet strangely hopeful.
"Falling" played softly through the speakers, its lyrics painting a picture of longing and uncertainty. It mirrored your own inner turmoil, the battle between fear and listening to your heart for once.
You had spent so long convincing yourself that this was just a friendship, that any romantic thoughts were one-sided. Now, faced with the truth, you didn't know what to do next. Should you tell Jungkook? Should you pretend you never saw the playlist?
Your mind raced with questions, but deep down, you knew you couldn't ignore this any longer. Jungkook's feelings were out in the open, laid bare through these songs that said a lot about his emotions.
Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes and let the music wash over you. Each melody, each lyric felt like a confession, a plea for you to see what had been in front of you all along.
"I already said I'm in love with you," the lyrics repeated in your mind, echoing the words you longed to hear from Jungkook himself.
The weight of the situation settled over you. You constructed the exact same playlist on your own phone, replaying it endlessly, searching for answers in the same songs he had chosen. It became a ritual, a way to understand what Jungkook hadn't yet said aloud. Each track felt like a message, a confession hidden in plain sight.
As days passed, the playlist became a lifeline, a connection to Jungkook that transcended words. You wondered if he knew the impact his secret gesture had on you, if he realized how deeply you analyzed each song, each lyric, each subtle hint of affection.
It was as if the playlist had become a conversation between your hearts, a silent dialogue that spoke volumes about your unspoken emotions. You couldn't deny the truth any longer—the love you felt for Jungkook had bloomed quietly, nurtured by his unwavering presence in your life and it reflected in the selection of songs carefully chosen by him.
And so you continued to listen, to immerse yourself in the music that spoke of love and longing. It was a soundtrack to his emotions, a testament to the unspeakable love that had grown between you and him.
The guys had planned a small gathering at your house. Hoseok, Jimin and Tae arrived at the same time around 8:00 p.m. with food, drinks and Cards Against Humanity. They were already having fun when they rang the bell.
"Hey," you said as you opened the door.
"Hey!" they greeted you.
You all headed towards the living room and they placed the things they brought on the table.
You chuckled, feeling a wave of warmth at their enthusiasm. "Thanks for coming, guys. I've got the place ready—cleaned up only for you the other day," you teased, motioning towards the neatly arranged living room.
As you all settled in, chatting and unpacking the snacks and games, there was a noticeable absence. Jungkook hadn't arrived yet, and though you tried not to dwell on it, his absence didn't go unnoticed by your friends.
"Where's Jungkook?" Tae finally asked, voicing the question that lingered in the air.
You shrugged nonchalantly, though your heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name. "Not sure. He said he might be a bit late."
Hoseok raised an eyebrow, exchanging a knowing look with Jimin. "Didn't he say he was gonna meet with someone from Tinder?"
"Tinder?"
"You know, the dating app," Tae chimed in, taking a bite of a snack.
"I know what Tinder is Tae,” you replied with a laugh, trying to keep your cool.
"So you didn't know he was on a date?"
"No, he didn't tell me. Are you serious? He's on a date right now?" Your voice came out louder than expected, and you cursed yourself for the slip.
Jimin frowned, concerned. "Are you okay, Y/N?"
You waved dismissively, trying to downplay the hurt and disappointment. "Yeah, all good... well, more food and games for us until he gets here."
You tried to push down the gnawing feeling of jealousy that threatened to surface at the thought of Jungkook on a date with someone else. The idea of him with another person stirred up emotions you had been trying so hard to accept the past days. You forced a smile as you joined in the banter and laughter, attempting to bury your own conflicting emotions.
Despite their casual remarks, you couldn't shake the unease settling in your stomach. You hoped Jungkook would arrive soon, eager for his presence to dispel the nervous tension building within you.
The minutes ticked by, filled with laughter and infinite jokes over Cards Against Humanity. Each time the doorbell rang, you found yourself tensing, hoping it was him. But each time, it turned out to be someone else—a delivery person, one of your neighbors...
As the evening progressed, you couldn't help but steal glances at your phone, checking for any messages from Jungkook. But you decided not to keep waiting and decided to send him a text first.
'whats taking you so longggggggg' it read.
He replied instantly. 'i'm outside, coming now'
You put down your phone, your heart pounding. A few seconds later, you heard familiar footsteps approaching and there was a knock on the door. You got up, heading towards the door.
"He's here!" Tae exclaimed, a grin spreading across his face as he jumped up to answer the door with you.
You held your breath as Jungkook stepped inside, a sheepish smile on his lips as he greeted everyone. His eyes met yours briefly, and for a moment, the world seemed to slow down.
"Sorry I'm late guys," Jungkook said, setting down a bag of drinks next to Tae's.
Jimin smirked teasingly. "Lost track of time, huh?"
Jungkook chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Haha nah,"
Absolutely not. It was a disaster. Why did I agree to this? She seemed nice enough online, he thought, but in person... It just wasn’t there. The conversation felt forced, and I couldn’t wait for it to end. He grimaced, recalling how he struggled to find common ground and forced a laugh at her jokes. I should've been with y/n tonight, helping her get everything ready for this.
Of course, all of that stayed in his head. He was embarrassed to tell everyone how much he hated meeting someone new. It would just give your friends the opening to tease him more about it.
"Well, you made it, and we're all here now. So let's start" you suggested, breaking the silence.
His eyes sought out yours, finding a mix of emotions reflected back at him—surprise, curiosity, and something he couldn't quite place.
Everyone nodded in agreement and moved to gather around the coffee table, pulling your cushions closer.
With Jungkook's presence, the gathering felt complete, as if a missing piece had been found.
And as you all laughed and played into the night, you couldn't ignore the way Jungkook's gaze lingered on you, a silent reassurance of the feelings you'd been trying to suppress.
"I'm going to take a photo of this." Tae announced, lifting up his beer.
You and the others followed suit, holding your drinks up and smiling. Jungkook on your right got closer to you for the picture, cheek to cheek, his scent surrounding you. You wanted to lean in and practically inhale him.
"Perfect." Tae snapped the shot, and then showed it to the group. "What do you think, everyone?"
Everyone agreed that it was a good photo.
"We all look great," Tae said.
"But not as good as those two," Hoseok joked.
You rolled your eyes. "Please."
"It's true," Hoseok insisted. "You guys look good together."
Jimin nodded, taking another sip of his drink. "They're right. You’d make a cute couple."
Jungkook felt shy at their words. It's not like he was trying to hide his feelings for you, but he hadn't exactly made his intentions known, either. It was frustrating, wanting to be closer to you but not knowing how.
At least it was encouraging to know that your closest friends were seeing you both that way. That meant he had hope, right?
"Okay, that's enough," you said, feeling your cheeks heat up. "Let's keep playing."
As the game resumed, the group's attention shifted back to the cards.
You cleared your throat, shifting awkwardly on the cushion. "So... how was your date?"
Jungkook winced, not meeting your eyes. "It was okay," he said, his tone lacking enthusiasm.
You bit your lip, curiosity gnawing at you. "Just okay? What happened?"
Jungkook shook his head, still not meeting your gaze. "I don't know. It just didn't feel right, I guess."
You tilted your head, searching his face. "What do you mean?"
Jungkook shrugged, a sheepish expression on his face. "It was just... awkward. We didn't really click. I don't know."
Your chest tightened, a mix of emotions swirling inside. "Oh," you managed, turning back to the game. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I'm not good at this kind of thing, you know? Meeting new people, going on dates. It's hard for me. I'd rather be with people I already know and trust."
You knew what he meant. The same went for you. It was hard enough trying to navigate your feelings without having to worry about other people, too.
You nodded, giving him a small smile. "I get it."
"I just wish it could be easier, you know? Like, finding someone you actually like who happens to also like you back, and not having to worry about anything else. Just enjoying each other's company."
Your breath caught, your mind reeling from his words. And from the way he was looking at you, you could tell he wasn't just talking about friendship.
"Why would you say something like that?" you questioned, the words tumbling out before you could stop them.
Jungkook's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? Say something like what?"
"That you wish you could be with someone who actually likes you and not have to worry about anything else."
"I... because it's true. I don't want to go on stupid dates anymore, I want to be with someone I care about. Someone I can laugh and have fun with."
You swallowed, your pulse quickening.
"Someone like who?"
Jungkook exhaled, a nervous smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I think you know who," he said quietly.
You stared at him, speechless, as his words sunk in. Your heart was racing, your body buzzing with adrenaline.
Hoseok, who had been unusually quiet, suddenly made himself heard, "I think I'm stuck in your bathroom!"
You and Jungkook turned to find your friend, who sounded flustered and slightly panicked. Jimin and Tae burst into laughter, trying to contain themselves as Hoseok continued to tug at the bathroom door.
"What do you mean you're stuck?" Jimin managed to ask between giggles.
Hoseok yelled helplessly. "I went in to use the bathroom, and now the door won't open!"
Jungkook glanced at you with a bemused smile, the tension from earlier dissipating with the absurdity of the situation. "Seriously, Hobi?" he chuckled.
Hoseok sounded exasperated. "It's not funny! How am I supposed to get out of here?"
"I'll go get some tools," Tae offered, still chuckling as he headed towards the kitchen.
You stepped closer to the bathroom door, trying to assess the situation. "It's just stuck. Let me try," you suggested, reaching for the handle and giving it a firm tug.
To everyone's surprise, the door swung open easily, revealing Hoseok looking both relieved and slightly embarrassed. "Oh, thanks, I swear it was stuck…"
Jimin clapped Hoseok on the back, still laughing. "Sure it was, Hobi. Sure."
The rest of the evening passed by in a blur of laughter and games, and despite the lingering awkwardness from earlier, you were glad that the night had gone well.
It was close to 2:00 a.m. when your friends finally began to call it a night, and you were exhausted.
"Thanks again for coming, everyone. I had a lot of funnnn," you said, giving them each a hug goodbye.
Jungkook was still on your kitchen helping you clean up all the mess you made. Drying the dishes and placing the glasses on your cabinets. You were cleaning up the table when he walked up to you.
"Need any help?"
"I'm done, thank you."
"Are you sure?"
"I am, thanks Kookie,"
You started walking towards your room when you heard him speak up.
"I really liked being here tonight."
"I know it was a lot of fun," you replied with a small smile. You grabbed his hoodie and his iPod to return them. Staring at the endearing device. Almost as if it were something fragile.
"I'm glad you had a good time," you responded as you walked back to the kitchen, handing him back his belongings. As you stood there in the dimly lit room, a comfortable silence settled between you. Jungkook's gaze was intense as he looked at you, his eyes searching yours for something unspoken.
Jungkook paused his moves, as if weighing his next words carefully. "I was thinking... maybe we could hang out again this week, just the two of us."
"What about the girl from Tinder?" you asked as you returned to face him, your tone sharper than you intended.
Jungkook frowned, confusion clouding his features. "What are you talking about? You know I went on one date. I told you it was a disaster."
You sighed, suddenly feeling foolish. "Yeah, I know, don't know why I asked that, haha" you muttered. "Didn't know you still used this thing,"
He smiled, his fingers brushing over the iPod. "I still love my music in here, you know, it sounds a lot better"
"Yeah, that's what I thought,"
He looked at you intently, and the air between you seemed to grow heavy.
"I've missed spending time with you, Y/N."
Your breath caught in your throat, your pulse quickening as you stared at him. "Me too," you whispered.
"So, is that a yes?"
"A yes to what?"
"The offer to hang out,"
"Oh, right. Um, yeah, sure. Sounds nice."
Jungkook's face lit up. "Cool. Well, I guess I'll see you later, then." With a final smile, he turned and left.
You watched him go and your mind was spinning. Jungkook's words echoed in your head, his words sending a flutter through your chest. You couldn't help but grin. Maybe there was hope for you two after all.
The following day, you woke up to the sun streaming in through your curtains, illuminating the room in a soft glow. You stretched lazily, savoring the warmth of your bed, before reluctantly climbing out and heading to the bathroom to wash up.
Unconciously, you began to shut yourself out. You had spent the whole night awake, thoughts about the possibility of being with your best friend swirling around your head, preventing you from falling asleep.
As you brushed your teeth, you heard your phone buzz. It was a text from him.
'Good morning'
A smile tugged at your lips, butterflies erupting in your stomach.
'good morning'
'can we go out today? im craving pizza'
You bit your lip, considering the invitation. A part of you was eager to see him, but another part was worried that it might be awkward, especially after the scenarios you created in your head last night.
You ended up refusing to go out with him. And he started to get anxious. He thought he may have done something wrong. That you were actually angry for going on a date or that you no longer wanted him to be part of your life just because he went out with someone else.
Jungkook started panicking.
And so, he called the guys.
"I don't know, she's just not acting normal." he sighed.
"Did something happen the other night?" Hoseok asked, concerned.
"No, I don't think so. She didn't say anything to me,"
"So why is she mad at you?"
"I have no idea. I was hoping maybe you had an idea,"
"Did she say she was mad at you?"
"Not directly, but she didn't want to go out today,"
"Well, I'm not surprised. She's probably just tired,"
"Tired?"
"Yeah, from work and all that, she's probably exhausted. I'm sure it's nothing."
"Do you think so? You don't think she's mad at me?"
"I really don't think she is. She'll probably just want to rest for a few days, and then things will go back to normal."
Your attitude changed so suddenly. You kept on cancelling on him. It’s been weeks.
"You have to talk to her, man," Jimin said.
"What do I say? How do I bring it up? Do I just ask her why she's been avoiding me? What if she doesn't know what I'm talking about?"
"Then ask her. Don't overthink it. Just say it."
Jungkook sighed, frustrated. "You make it sound so easy,"
"Look, I'm not gonna lie to you. It's probably gonna be awkward as fuck, but you can't let it get in the way of your friendship. You've been friends for so long, and it's obviously important to both of you. If she really is mad at you, then you need to find out what's going on. But if she's not, then you need to clear the air and move on. Because otherwise, this is just gonna keep getting worse and worse for you."
"Yeah, you're right. I'm just... worried, I guess."
"I know, but don't be. Everything’s fine. It’ll work out, especially if you let her know that you like her."
"What? Are you crazy? I can't just tell her that."
"Why not?"
"Because... what if she doesn't feel the same way?"
"So what if she doesn't? You'll never know unless you tell her. And if she does feel the same way, then you can finally stop being all sad and pathetic."
"You think she likes me?"
"Well, only she can tell you that, but you'll never know if you don't talk to her. So suck it up and go for it."
"Fine. I'll talk to her."
"Good."
"But... how do I tell her?"
"Just be honest. Tell her you've been worried that something is wrong, and you want to make sure everything is okay. Then let her know how you feel. But, be prepared for her reaction. If she doesn't feel the same way, it could make things weird. But you need to deal with it and move on."
That same day you were laying down in bed, scrolling through your phone. Reading over and over the lyrics of one particular song on the playlist.
"Is there a place for me? Is there a place for us? I can't tell you how much I love you, babe Open the door Open your heart Tell me how you're feeling, I miss you so bad I'm falling to pieces"
And just like that, your phone began vibrating, your heart beating rapidly as his name flashed across the screen.
"Hello?"
"Hey, are you free? Can we talk?"
"Uhm... sure, yeah. Now?"
"If it's okay, yes."
"Okay,"
"I'm coming up now."
"Wait, wha-..."
Jungkook was already at your door, knocking frantically. You opened it for him, your heart in your throat.
He stood before you, looking determined. His eyes were wide, his hair tousled, and he was out of breath, as if he had just run a marathon.
"Sorry, I was already on my way. I had to do it now. I have to say it, because otherwise, I won't have the courage to say it some other time,"
"Okay?"
He inhaled deeply, his eyes locked on yours.
"Y/N, I really, really like you. And I've been so confused and conflicted because I've always liked you, then I started thinking that maybe there was more. And then I realized there was. I really, really like you."
You swallowed hard, the words ringing in your ears.
"I-..."
"It's okay, I just wanted you to know,"
You shook your head, struggling to comprehend what he had just told you. "I'm sorry, I'm just..."
"I know, and I'm sorry. But I had to say it."
"So, does this mean... what are you saying exactly?"
Jungkook hesitated, running a hand through his hair. "Look, Y/N, I don't expect anything from you, and I don't want things to get weird. But I just had to tell you. I'm crazy about you."
You nodded slowly, processing his words. "uh. I-... uh."
"I know it's sudden, and I'm sorry. I just couldn't hold it in anymore. But I don't want anything to change, I promise. I'll just go, and we can forget this ever happened. We can go back to the way things were, I promise. I'm sorry,"
"Jungkook, stop apologizing. It's not a bad thing, I'm just... processing. I've never had anyone say they're crazy about me before," with your phone in your hand an idea immediately came to you.
"Can I show you something?" you asked him.
"What is it?"
You walked up to him, your phone in your hand. You handed him your device and let him see your screen. There it was, the infamous playlist.
Jungkook's doe eyes widened, a small gasp escaping his lips as he noticed. "What... is this...?"
"I went through your iPod when you left your hoodie last time," you told him with an embarrassed grin. "They’re the same songs you have on yours,"
"This is so embarrassing," he groaned, his cheeks red. "You... you went through my iPod?" Jungkook asked, now with a hint of amusement in his voice.
You nodded, feeling a mix of embarrassment and relief that he wasn't angry about it. "I was curious about the music you listen to. And I found… this,”
He stared at the playlist, then back at you, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "So... does that mean you... already knew how I felt?" Jungkook asked, hope flickering in his eyes.
Your heart raced at his words, a mix of excitement and uncertainty swirling inside you. Could this really be happening? Could your long-standing friendship truly be blossoming into something more?
"Jungkook," you began, your voice barely above a whisper. "I... I like you too. More than just a friend."
"So what does this mean? That we are supposed to be together?"
"Maybe, or maybe not. It could just mean that you have great taste in music and I admire it,"
Jungkook's eyes widened with hope, a grin spreading across his face. "I've been wanting to tell you for so long, but I was afraid of ruining everything between us."
You smiled, your heart fluttering. "Me too, I’m sorry for making you worry these past few days,"
"Can I hug you?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly.
You nodded, wrapping your arms around his neck.
Jungkook held onto you tightly, his arms snug around your waist. You rested your chin on his shoulder, closing your eyes and inhaling his familiar scent.
After a few moments, he pulled away slightly, his hands still resting on your hips.
He looked at you with a mix of relief and uncertainty in his eyes. "So, I didn't ruin anything between us?" he murmured softly.
You shook your head, a small smile playing on your lips. "You didn't ruin anything, Jungkook. If anything, you've made everything clearer."
His shoulders relaxed slightly at your words, a hint of a smile returning to his face. "I'm glad."
"I'm glad too," you began again, your voice steady but tinged with nervousness. "But I also want you to know that... I've been thinking a lot too."
Jungkook turned to face you fully, his expression a mix of anticipation and apprehension. "About...?"
"About us," you admitted softly, meeting his gaze. "About how much I enjoy spending time with you, about how much I admire you, and... how I've felt something more than just friendship for a while now."
His eyes widened slightly, hope flickering in them. "A while?”
You nodded, a shy smile playing on your lips. "Yes, Jungkook. A while. I've just been afraid to say anything because I didn't want to lose you in case you didn't felt the same way about me."
He stepped closer to you, his hand reaching out tentatively. "Y/N... I wish I had known sooner. I've been struggling with these feelings, not knowing if you felt the same way."
"I'm sorry for not saying anything earlier," you murmured, your fingers brushing against his. "But I'm glad we're talking about it now."
He squeezed your hand gently, his eyes never leaving yours. "Me too. More than anything."
There was a moment of silence between you, the weight of your shared emotions hanging in the air. Finally, Jungkook spoke again, his voice filled with determination.
"So... what do we do now?"
You chuckled softly, feeling a surge of affection for him. "I think we take it one step at a time. We've already taken a big step today."
He nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "Yeah, you're right. I'm just... really happy right now."
"Me too," you said, squeezing his hand.
"I guess the only question now is... are we... together together?" he asked hesitantly.
You grinned, your heart pounding in your chest. "Only if you want us to be,"
"Yes, yes, yes. Of course, yes,"
"Then it's settled. We're together," you giggled.
Jungkook laughed, the sound sending a warm feeling through your chest.
Cut to 4 years in the future.
There you were at a dinner with friends and family. It had been four years since you got together, but it felt like an eternity. You both were so excited for each other, for your life from now on.
"Hey, you got a little something," he whispered, brushing away a strand of hair from your cheek.
You couldn't help but smile, his touch as tender as ever. "Thanks,"
"No problem," he smiled.
Then you could hear someone clinking a glass. "A few words from the fiancé!" Jin's voice reverberated through the dimly lit restaurant.
"Y-yeah, yeah," your boyfriend stuttered, clearing his throat and standing up. He was a nervous wreck, and it was adorable.
"Um, first, thank you all for being here. It really means a lot to us. We know how important it is to have your loved ones around you on a special day, and we're so grateful for everyone who's supported us. Second, a special thanks to my future father and mother-in-law. Thank you for always being there for us and for supporting our relationship. And, um, thanks to my own parents for, uh, also supporting us."
As the guests began to laugh, your boyfriend cleared his throat and continued, his gaze fixed on yours.
"But most importantly, I want to say thank you to my amazing girlfriend. Thank you for making every day better. Thank you for always being by my side and for loving me unconditionall—"
"We know that already! Entertain us or I won't pay the bill!" Jin's loud voice interrupted again.
You couldn't help but chuckle and the guests laughed again, amused.
Your fiancé smiled, clearly enjoying the teasing.
"Alright, alright," Jungkook cleared his throat before he continued, "actually, we agreed that we'd never tell anyone how we actually got together but I guess we're past that, right babe?"
"Oh no, don't!" You blushed, a little embarrassed.
"It's a funny story," he continued. "It's kind of a long one, but this girl right here thought that the best course of action was to make me a dating app profile before telling me that she was in love with me."
Everyone burst into laughter.
"I was dumb, okay?" you joked, earning more laughter from the guests.
"So, we ended up talking to some people on said dating app and went on a few dates, which were terrible—"
"Hey! It's not my fault that you agreed even though you were also in love with me!" — "Everyone, he had a playlist with my name filled with sentimental songs like the most lovesick boy on Earth!"
"But babe trust me, it's a great playlist, by the way," you added.
"And then we got drunk, and the truth was revealed."
"What?! No way," Hoseok laughed.
"We weren’t drunk, I’m kidding, I just told her that I had liked her since the beginning," he said. "We just made a disaster, and we were both scared shitless."
"But here we are," you added.
"So, yeah, thanks for coming everyone," your fiancé concluded, his voice breaking a little as he wrapped up his little speech.
You could see him trying to blink back tears as he sat back down next to you, and you gave his hand a squeeze.
"You did great," you whispered, leaning in to give him a quick kiss.
"Thanks," he replied, his voice hoarse.
Your parents got up, taking the floor after him.
"Thank you, thank you," your mom said, a bit embarrassed.
"We’d like to share a few words as well. First, we'd like to thank everyone for coming. It's such a privilege to have all our family and friends here, and we're so thankful for your support. And we're especially grateful for our beautiful daughter and our soon-to-be son-in-law. We are so proud of both of you, and we know you'll have a long and happy life together."
"Thanks," you managed to say, overcome with emotion.
"So, now, we'd like to present the couple with a little something. It's just a small token of our love for them," your mother added, signaling for someone to come forward.
Jimin, Hoseok, and Tae stood up from the table and approached the stage, each of them holding a framed collage.
"Here, you can pass these out," your mother said, handing each of the guests copies of the photos.
You and your fiancé were stunned as the three guys presented the photos to you.
The photos were a collage of different memories: you and him during his graduation, another one from yours, a candid shot of him cooking for you, a photo of the two of you smiling in front of the sunset, and a picture of him holding your hand while you were asleep.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you took in the beautiful photos, each one capturing a special moment in your relationship. The love and happiness radiating from the images made your heart feel full to the brim. You glanced at Jungkook, whose eyes were also glistening with unshed tears, and you reached for his hand, holding it tightly.
"Thank you so much," you managed to say, your voice choked with emotion. "These are... perfect."
"I have a gift for you too," you told him, reaching under the table. You brought out a box wrapped in bright pink paper and a bow.
He looked at you with surprise, his eyes shining with curiosity as he took the box from your hands. Slowly unwrapping it, his mouth fell open in astonishment when he saw what was inside. Nestled within the box was a beautifully crafted watch, the silver band gleaming under the soft light of the restaurant.
"Oh wow," he breathed, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "It's... it's incredible."
"It's engraved," you whispered, pointing to the back of the watch where a message was etched. His eyes widened as he read the words: 'Forever yours, Y/N.'
"I was hoping you'd wear it to the wedding," you said, grinning. "But don't cry, you'll make me cry!" you exclaimed.
"I'm not crying, I just..." he trailed off, sniffling.
"I love it," Jungkook finally managed to say, his voice filled with emotion. He stood up abruptly and pulled you into a tight hug, “I love you.”
As you both separated, there was a collective 'aww' from the guests, making you both blush.
The rest of the evening continued with laughter and joy, surrounded by the love of friends and family. People danced, sang, and shared stories late into the night. It was a celebration of love and new beginnings.
As the night winded down and guests started to leave, you found yourselves standing alone in the dimly lit space. Jungkook wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close.
"Thank you for everything today," you said sincerely, looking into his big brown eyes.
"Thank you for being mine," he replied softly, feeling overwhelmed with happiness.
"I wouldn't want to be anyone else's," you whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
Jungkook cupped your face in his hands and placed a lingering kiss on your forehead. The world around you seemed to fade, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of the deepest affection you’ve ever felt.

“This is bullshit,” you mutter as you pull on the sheer dress. It's basically see-through. Why can't you wear regular clothes? Isn't it embarrassing enough that you have to sell yourself, you have to be as close to naked as possible also?
But you do it anyway and don't say anything more. This is really your very last resort. Everything else you've tried so far has been a failure.
Panic starts to rise in your chest. What if he's out there? What if he buys you?
Then you realize that everyone sitting out there is an alpha and he wouldn't be allowed in. It calms your nerves a bit but you still glance around now and then as you wait for your turn. He's found you before. You're not safe anywhere.
“This is bullshit,” Lloyd growls as he adjusts the mask covering his face. He recognizes the scents of at least three alphas, despite being unable to see their faces. The masks aren't hiding shit. He knows they're more for the omegas on stage than for the alphas but so far the entire event has been a disappointment, and he regrets attending.
Instead, he studies the high ceiling and artwork on the walls, only glancing at the omegas appearing, one after another getting bought.
Just as he's about to up and leave the omega on stage catches his attention. Eyes that keep flickering and a stubborn mouth, but otherwise delectable! He raises his paddle before he even knows it. A few people bid too, but Lloyd is determined. His paddle is the last to go up.
The omega's mouth is a thin line. A smile cracks Lloyd's face below the mask as he rises and makes his way out to pick up his newly acquired omega.
“Be nice, be nice, be nice. Be nice to the alpha who bought you. You need his protection.” You remind yourself as you stand outside in your clothes after being shown out by the attendant. There isn't an alpha around and your eyes keep searching. You don't like to be out in the open like this but if you huddle against the wall he's probably going to think you're weird. Or you'd have to explain.
With a roar, a flashy sports car pulls up. The owner steps out and looks at you. He’s tall with neat hair slicked back, a mustache above his smile, eyes sparkling with glee. You look away, he obviously thinks you're a prostitute. It would be great if your fucking alpha could show up.
“Hey, get in!” The man calls. You glance at him before saying, “I'm waiting for someone.” “Yeah, me! Omega, get over here right now or I'll command you.”
You stare at him. He waves a piece of paper. “You're the alpha who bought me?” “Damn straight, sugar plum!” Sugar plum?! Your name is on the paper!
“Actually,” you begin but he interrupts you. “We can talk in the car, come on now!” Displeased, you walk over.
The inside looks barely used but it’s filled with his scent. It’s a delicious perfume that smells like the woods after it's rained, an earthy clean smell with an undertone of burnt sugar that makes you think of creme brulee. Saliva pools in your mouth and you ignore it.
Your new alpha, who still hasn't introduced himself, steps on the gas and the car shoots down the road. “Where are we going?” “To my place, it’s not far!” At the speed he's driving, you're downtown within minutes, too focused on holding on to ask any other questions. He doesn't offer any more answers, either. Soon, you lose track of where you are, finding yourself in an unfamiliar neighborhood. Elegant houses and high-rise buildings blend together unnaturally. He parks in an underground garage, and the elevator ascends to the tenth floor. Everything looks new and untouched almost. You've never been in such a place before.
Inside the door, you stop and stare. The apartment you used to live in was a perfectly adequate size, but this is ridiculous. On top of that everything is spotless and sleek. Sure, his scent is present in the apartment, but otherwise it looks like no one lives in it, very similar to the car. Your new alpha seems to be very neat.
You look down at yourself. It's been a while since you had the opportunity to wash your clothes properly. The bag in your hand with your few belongings has seen better days. The alpha struts into the apartment, not noticing you've stopped. You don't have socks on so you don't want to take off your shoes.
Frozen in place you can't decide what to do. Everything is just too much. But you're still at the front door, if you turn around you can run and go back to what you know. It would be easier in a way. He doesn't know you. He has a name but it won't get him anywhere.
Steps coming towards you snap you out of it and you meet the eyes of the alpha. They are calm and blue. The urge to run settles and you notice he has a bundle of clothes in his arms.
“You'll have to borrow some of my stuff until we've washed yours and gotten you more clothes. Bathroom is this way,” he jerks his head and turns around. This time you follow.
The bathroom has everything one could wish for and you look longingly at the tub. How long ago was it that you had a real bath? The alpha puts the bundle down on top of a basket and then shows you where to find towels and what all the different dials in the shower do. You nod, trying to keep up.
Then he turns and heads out but before he shuts the door you blurt out, “Wait! What's your name?”
He turns around and grins at you in a way that is both creepy and at the same time not unpleasant. “It's Lloyd Hansen, sugar plum.”

☆☆𝓘𝓻𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓫𝓵𝓮 𝓟𝓸𝓲𝓼𝓸𝓷 𝒫𝒶𝓇𝓉2☆☆
Warnings: Violence! (Rafe/Ward)(Rafe/JJ) Angst!
Pairing: Rafe x Black reader
This is Rafe's POVs
*+:。.。 。.。:+*
I cant believe I'm sitting here looking at this man's bald ass head again. Granted I am too but still we both look older than we are. I guess that helps with dealing to older customers. Selling this shit to kooks isn't as easy as selling to pogues. I know I shouldn't be but who the hell is gonna help me when things get hard besides her.
Sofia is eh..ya know somebody, she's help, very caring and optimistic but she still doesn't compare to her.
She however helps me figure shit out, calms me down, she's smart and understands the shit I go through. Plus, besides Barry she doesn't judge the shit I do.
Grabbing the kilo off of the small brown table in front of me. I start packaging it up for the next party we're about to throw at Topper's. He's paying too, especially after we almost got busted last time from some punk who was mad about paying for all the coke he was doing that night.
Turns out his dad is a cop,
That i've already sold to twice.
But of course I had to make an example so I beat his ass.
" Yo, the rest is in the trunk let's just sell this shit and bounce when it's over. I got shit to do, plus I have to get your girl from work." Barry says as he peeks behind the screen door.
Standing up and glaring towards him as I grab my keys, " Not my girl bro just someone I keep around."
" Ya okay country club whatever you say, I don't even treat my best piece like that."
This mf, I swear. Sofia is nothing but a smart lil girl I keep around for a good time. Honestly, it was easy. I mean she's still new to the island and she hasn't been out much. I'm just practicing being a nice person.
I bump past him and head toward the car, tossing the last kilo I had in his arms.
"Shut up and come on".
*+:。.。 。.。:+*
I'm sitting here staring at the last message I sent SIX HOURS AGO. Why the hell hasn't she texted me back. This lil girl got me messed up. I know she seen when I asked why Maybank's ass isn't blocked. Realizing I'm shaking I send her another message before I'm interrupted but a high pitch voice.
Soulmate: Stop ignoring me mama and block him. I wanna see the screen recording too.
"Why aren't you paying attention to me Rafey?" Sofia whined to me grabbing my arm and resting her cheek on my bicep.
Sofia. Sofia. Sofia.
So cute, but so very annoying and very fucking clingy. She's not the one I want to cling to me. The one I want is ignoring me on an island where she probably has a boyfriend waiting for her. Just thinking about it is pissing me the fuck off.
" I'm too busy selling Sofia, I got you when I get done. Meanwhile, you wanna line or are you just drinking tonight?"
She starts batting her little eyelashes up at me , "Just drinking but I will have a little line if you don't mine doing it for me."
I sat my phone on the white couch underneath me and grab my black card to start the line for her. I only do Y/N's lines and that's only when she's drinking. Two for one night and only on occasions cuz I'll be damned if my baby end up like how I was. I love her way too much to sit and let that shit happen but her puppy eyes are so cute and we ended up coming up to an agreement.
Two lines every three months, not every party and not every time she gets drunk. I'll know if she gets it from somewhere else but she knows better than to try that shit.
" Here Sofia, it's ready let me know when you want some more." I handed her a rolled up bill and getting up the go talk to Barry.
I already sold my portion and the rest was for the three of us to share when he gets done with his. Topper is talking to Kelce and some red haired chick I've seen around in a corner.
Making my way downstairs and into the living room I spot Barry talking to someone on Facetime while handing a baggie to some dude in a red polo setting his money in the pile on the table.
" It's all good baby, you'll be home soon right? You want me to let him know or you want to just stay with me?"
" I'll come over yours first and we can just go back to his together." The other voice on the phone sounding familiar.
Who the hell is he talking to? I know he doesn't have a girlfriend so the hell??
"Yo who's that? Are you done selling or what?" I sat on the couch next to him and start counting the money in my pocket
"It's ya bestie boo or whatever the hell girly shit she be saying." he said chuckling and handing me the phone.
" Hi baby, I miss you. Even tho you kinda trippin at the moment." Y/n says. Fuck she's so damn cute, I miss her too but why hell didn't she text me back. And why the hell did she call Barry and not me.
" Hey mama, I miss you too but why you ain't texting me back." I ask her.
"I did text you back baby and I sent your toxic ass evidence." She said rolling her eyes at me.
I'm acting shocked knowing damn well.
" I'm not toxic mama just protective and I didn't see the message yet. When you coming home?" I asked her setting the phone on the table to lean against the wad of cash.
" I'm coming back tomorrow love, have my room ready please? Or yours it really doesn't matter. Barry is staying with us by the way, we'll let you know the details later yeah?"
I sit back crossing my arms across my chest and look at Barry. " So when were you gonna tell me about this plan?" I asked him
He shrugged back and took a sip of his drink. " She wanted me to wait until she got back bro my bad."
Before I could respond I feel someone putting their face on my neck. Looking back I see Sofia. Fuck. I haven't told either of them about each other.
" Who's that Rafey your cousin or something?" She said, looking over my shoulder.
I shrug her off and before I even respond, I see Y/n's face turned up and frowning.
" Cousin, oh lord baby. Of course, you got a new one while I was away. Just make sure my room is ready please love and thank you." She says rolling her eyes as she puts her suitcase down in front of her bed.
" I gotchu mama don't worry see you tomorrow. Say bye to Barry baby." I turn the phone towards him as he waves.
She waved back and smiles hanging up the phone. Rubbing my hands down my face and handing him his phone back.
He smirks and giggles at me clearly being entertained with the situation.
" She's gonna fuck you up country club." Laughing as he threw his head back laughing.
" I'm already knowing."

It’s Criminal (79’)

Dave Mustaine x Fem!reader
1,569 words
- - - - -
Important Authors Note!!!: I originally came up with this idea when I found out Dave stole his first guitar! So this is where the fanfic idea came from.
Description: You decide to rob a guitar store for some quick, easy cash. However, you never expected to run into your ex high school boyfriend…
Warnings: PORN W/ PLOT!!! (As always, I’ll mark with three “^” when the good part starts) p in v, creampies, reader is on top, cowgirl position, praise.

You creeped your car through the back of the shopping mall, your lights off, trying to find the backdoor to the music store. Your eyes traveled from door to door, finally landing on the one that said “Guitar Center”.
“Perfect.” You muttered, pulling your car up to the side of the building, parking it and getting out. You opened the door to the backseat, grabbing your bag that had a flashlight, knife, etc. You walked up to the door and cut your knife through the slit that the lock was on, opening it silently and propping the door open with a rock that was to the side.
As soon as you entered, you starting swiping anything you could re-sell. Guitar strings? Might come in handy. Picks? Heck yea. Oh, and don’t forget about all the guitars in the wall.
You started grabbing two guitars at a time by the necks, bringing them out to your car and tossing them in the trunk. Just as you finished putting two in there, you heard someone’s footsteps behind you.
Startled, you grabbed the knife out of your pocket and turned to see who it was, but no one was there. The only thing that could be heard was crickets chirping and the wind through the trees. You quietly stepped in the door, looking around the guitar center to see if anyone was there.
“I must be fucking crazy.” You whispered to yourself, turning down an isle of the store. A shadowy figure suddenly jumped out from the aisle, grabbing you by the shirt and pinning you against one of the shelves.
“What the fuck!?” You yelled as the stranger grabbed you. The moonlight through the door abled you to get a glimpse of the persons face. Dark eyes and long curly hair.
They had their forearm up against your neck, causing you to gasp for air. You put your hands up, expecting it to be an officer who trapped you. “Why are you here?” The man asked, his voice sounding a bit familiar.
“Wait a minute…” you muttered once you realized who was in front of you. “Dave??” You questioned. The man’s gaze softened and the pressure on your neck lightened.
“No fucking way…” he muttered. Dave let go of you, backing away. You gently rubbed the part of your neck he put his forearm on as it was a little sore.
When he moved, the moonlight let you get a better view of him, confirming he was who you thought he was. “What are you doing-“ before he could finish, there was police sirens and lights coming through the storefronts windows.
“Shit! We gotta go!” You yelled, grabbing his arm and taking him out to your car. He quickly got in the passenger seat as you got in the drivers seat, starting the vehicle and driving off off, making sure your lights were still off.
“Fuck! My car’s still back there!” Dave groaned. You swerved the car down another street. “We’ll just have to get it in the morning, as long as you parked it and turned it off.”
A few turns later, and the sirens couldn’t be heard, so you turned onto the curb and parked your car, turning it off.
Your hands were shaking and your heart was pounding. You turned to look at Dave and he has a pissed off expression on.
“You seriously just had to fuck up everything.” He groaned, crossing his arms.
“I’m sorry?” You paused. “I fucked up everything? Nothing would have happened if you weren’t there! I bet it was your dumbass who set off the silent alarm!” You shoved his shoulder out of frustration.
“Yeah? Well at least you got to keep the pawned shit. I bet the cops are gonna look in my car, see the stolen stuff, then run my fucking license plate, and I’ll get arrested!” He lashed out.
You two bickered for a while, and eventually, you saw the red and blue lights in your peripheral. The sirens getting louder and louder with every passing second.
“No fucking way…” you whispered, cutting Dave off from finishing his insult. You bent down in your seat, getting out of view from the window. Dave followed after you, waiting for the cops to pass.
Thankfully, the police just drove by and didn’t stop next to you. Your heart was pounding even harder than before, and you heard Dave’s staggered breaths next to you.
Once the red and blue lights were no longer visible, you sat up, taking a long needed breath.
“I can’t believe I ran into you there out of all places.” You sighed, looking over at Dave.
It’s been a while since you two have seen each other. You remember meeting him once or twice at his gas station, but ever since high school, you two haven’t talked. What’s even funnier is you two were high school sweethearts, but since you graduated you’ve just drifted apart.
“You good?” He asked, snapping you out of your trance, realizing that he had been talking to you the whole time you were zoned out. “Huh? No yea, I’m good.” You paused, glancing into his eyes one more time. “What did you say?”
“I said that I’ve missed you.” Dave gazed at you. His lips formed a slight smile, and your heart started pounding in your chest. You stuttered over your words, not knowing how to react. Did you miss his warm touch? His laugh? His smile? Yes. Were you made he didn’t at all try and stay in touch with you? Yes— but now was the time to make up for all of that.
^ ^ ^
You leaned over the center console, grabbing Dave by the back of his neck and pressing your lips against his. It took Dave a moment to realize what was happening, but then he started moving his lips in sync with yours. His hands slid onto your hips, rubbing small circles with his thumb.
You parted your lips from his, staring into his eyes. His hair was messed up— courtesy of you— and his lips were slightly apart, along with his breath being heavy and his face being a deep shade of red.
“I’ve missed this…” he groaned, slamming you into another kiss. Your tongues collided, fighting for dominance before you submitted, allowing him to take over your mouths. His hands slid under the thin fabric that was your shirt, moving to take it off before you grabbed his hands and stopped him, jerking your head towards the back seat.
“Don’t have to tell me twice…” he cooed, opening the car door and getting into the backseat with you.
Once you two crawled in the back, your hands started roaming each other’s bodies desperately, taking off every article of clothing you could from one another. The cold air hit your delicate skin, causing you to shiver, but Dave’s warm hands roaming your body made you feel better. Once every piece of cloth was discarded on to the floorboard and you two were bare, Dave started kissing every part of you like he hadn’t in years; which was true. His butterfly kisses trailed across your body, and you couldn’t help but giggle.
His hands gripped your hips while you sat up, pressing your finger tips against his chest. He leaned back, watching you climb in top of him. He couldn’t control how exited he was to see you on top of him, a smirk tugging at his lips. You bent down, tangling your mouths together one last time before you started to sink onto his already rock-hard cock, both of your moans interrupting the kiss.
Once his entire length was nestled inside you, you sat for a moment, adjusting to the sudden feeling.
“So good for me…” He cooed, his words giving you a butterfly feeling in your stomach. Once you adjusted, you started to moving up and down on him, feeling his tip reach the deepest parts of you. Once you started moving, his grip on your hips tightened, his nails creating crescent-shaped red marks.
You supported yourself by having your hands on his shoulders, your mind clouded with pleasure as you sped up your pace, staring to grind.
Both of your grunts filled the car, the windows clouded from the contrast of temperature outside and that inside. You started to feel your body get tired, but you continued nonetheless.
As your grinding continued, you felt a wave of pleasure come closer and closer to the edge, threatening to fall off and crash over your tired and sweaty self. Your grip tightened on Dave shoulders, “fuck, I’m so close…” you whined out, increasing your pace. His grip tightened as well, definitely leaving obscene marks on your pretty skin.
“Fuck! Don’t stop-“ he grunted. You felt the string inside you tighten even more, before it finally snapped, pure ecstasy crashed over you as you rode out your high. You felt Dave cum inside you, his hot release filling you up.
You climbed off Dave and laid against his chest, too tired to put your clothes back on. Sweat dripped down your body and your legs shook. Dave gently rubbed his hand against your back as you listened to his heartbeat.
“I can’t believe my night ended up like this,” He paused as you both looked at each other.
“And it’s a night I wouldn’t change at all.”

@oakfern replied to your post “it's going to be fun to watch the realization...”:
i feel like this is going to play out very similarly to voice assistants. there was a huge boom in ASR research, the products got a lot of hype, and they actually sold decently (at least alexa did). but 10 years on, they've been a massive failure, costing way more than they ever made back. even if ppl do think chatbot search engines are exciting and cool, it's not going to bring in more users or sell more products, and in the end it will just be a financial loss
(Responding to this a week late)
I don't know much about the history of voice assistants. Are there any articles you recommend on the topic? Sounds interesting.
ETA: Iater, I found and read this article from Nov 2022, which reports that Alexa and co. still can't turn a profit after many years of trying.
But anyway, yeah... this is why I don't have a strong sense of how widespread/popular these "generative AI" products will be a year or two from now. Or even five years from now.
(Ten years from now? Maybe we can trust the verdict will be in at that point... but the tech landscape of 2033 is going to be so different from ours that the question "did 'generative AI' take off or not?" will no doubt sound quaint and irrelevant.)
Remember when self-driving cars were supposed to be right around the corner? Lots of people took this imminent self-driving future seriously.
And I looked at it, and thought "I don't get it, this problem seems way harder than people are giving it credit for. And these companies show no signs of having discovered some clever proprietary way forward." If people asked me about it, that's what I would say.
But even if I was sure that self-driving cars wouldn't arrive on schedule, that didn't give me much insight into the fate of "self-driving cars," the tech sector meme. It wasn't like there was some specific deadline, and when we crossed it everyone was going to look up and say "oh, I guess that didn't work, time to stop investing."
The influx of capital -- and everything downstream from it, the trusting news stories, the prominence of the "self-driving car future" in the public mind, the seriousness which it was talked about -- these things went on, heedless of anything except their own mysterious internal logic.
They went on until . . . what? The pandemic, probably? I actually still don't know.
Something definitely happened:
In 2018 analysts put the market value of Waymo LLC, then a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., at $175 billion. Its most recent funding round gave the company an estimated valuation of $30 billion, roughly the same as Cruise. Aurora Innovation Inc., a startup co-founded by Chris Urmson, Google’s former autonomous-vehicle chief, has lost more than 85% since last year [i.e. 2021] and is now worth less than $3 billion. This September a leaked memo from Urmson summed up Aurora’s cash-flow struggles and suggested it might have to sell out to a larger company. Many of the industry’s most promising efforts have met the same fate in recent years, including Drive.ai, Voyage, Zoox, and Uber’s self-driving division. “Long term, I think we will have autonomous vehicles that you and I can buy,” says Mike Ramsey, an analyst at market researcher Gartner Inc. “But we’re going to be old.”
Whatever killed the "self-driving car" meme, though, it wasn't some newly definitive article of proof that the underlying ideas were flawed. The ideas never made sense in the first place. The phenomenon was not really about the ideas making sense.
Some investors -- with enough capital, between them, to exert noticable distortionary effects on entire business sectors -- decided that "self-driving cars" were, like, A Thing now. And so they were, for a number of years. Huge numbers of people worked very hard trying to make "self-driving cars" into a viable product. They were paid very well to do. Talent was diverted away from other projects, en masse, into this effort. This went on as long as the investors felt like sustaining it, and they were in no danger of running out of money.
Often the "tech sector" feels less like a product of free-market incentives than it does like a massive, weird, and opaque public works product, orchestrated by eccentrics like Masayoshi Son, and ultimately organized according to the aesthetic proclivities and changing moods of its architects, not for the purpose of "doing business" in the conventional sense.
Gig economy delivery apps (Uber Eats, Doordash, etc.) have been ubiquitous for years, and have reported huge losses in every one of those years.
This entertaining post from 2020 about "pizza arbitrage" asks:
Which brings us to the question - what is the point of all this? These platforms are all losing money. Just think of all the meetings and lines of code and phone calls to make all of these nefarious things happen which just continue to bleed money. Why go through all this trouble?
Grubhub just lost $33 million on $360 million of revenue in Q1.
Doordash reportedly lost an insane $450 million off $900 million in revenue in 2019 (which does make me wonder if my dream of a decentralized network of pizza arbitrageurs does exist).
Uber Eats is Uber's "most profitable division” 😂😂. Uber Eats lost $461 million in Q4 2019 off of revenue of $734 million. Sometimes I need to write this out to remind myself. Uber Eats spent $1.2 billion to make $734 million. In one quarter.
And now, in February 2023?
DoorDash's total orders grew 27% to 467 million in the fourth quarter. That beat Wall Street’s forecast of 459 million, according to analysts polled by FactSet. Fourth quarter revenue jumped 40% to $1.82 billion, also ahead of analysts’ forecast of $1.77 billion.
But profits remain elusive for the 10-year-old company. DoorDash said its net loss widened to $640 million, or $1.65 per share, in the fourth quarter as it expanded into new categories and integrated Wolt into its operations.
Do their investors really believe these companies are going somewhere, and just taking their time to get there? Or is this more like a subsidy? The lost money (a predictable loss in the long term) merely the price paid for a desired good -- for an intoxicating exercise of godlike power, for the chance to reshape reality to one's whims on a large scale -- collapsing the usual boundary between self and outside, dream and reality? "The gig economy is A Thing, now," you say, and wave your hand -- and so it is.
Some people would pay a lot of money to be a god, I would think.
Anyway, "generative AI" is A Thing now. It wasn't A Thing a year ago, but now it is. How long will it remain one? The best I can say is: as long as the gods are feeling it.

BOY do I have a story for you guys!!! After a LONG hiatus I finally have some irl emeto content for y’all! So I started dating my girlfriend a short while ago and it is still very much a new relationship, but we’ve quickly settled into “lesbians who have been married for 30 years” vibes with each other. She is truly amazing and I adore her. And one super hot thing about her is she loves watching me eat🥵 so it was late and we were both hungry so we went to one of the few places that were open, which happened to be a place that mainly sells calzones (bread stuffed with meat and cheese, except I just got a 3 cheese one). So I order two gigantic calzones and I am DEVOURING THEM. Like, eating my little heart out. I start to feel full after 1 but in my head I go “nah, I can finish these.” Let me tell you- that was a fucking mistake. I am ravenously devouring my cheesy bread in a manner that is turning my girlfriend the fuck on and she is just watching me with horny glazed over eyes, and it’s only when I finish the last bite that I realize: I fucked up. My stomach feels stretched beyond it’s breaking point and I am downright uncomfortable. I ask my girlfriend if we can head home but don’t tell her why. She says, “sure,” and goes to pull the car around. As I’m waiting, I sneak a hand over my belly and it feels hard and swollen. I see my girlfriend’s car pull up and hop in. “I ate too much,” I finally admit, and she goes, “I know.” The drive home is only 5 minutes but I am literally squirming in discomfort the entire time. About 1 minute from home I gag for the first time and my girlfriend goes, “oh shit,” and rolls down the window. “I’m not gonna puke in your car,” I promise her. I can feel the car speed up to get me home. “You’re gonna puke, I can tell,” she says. Finally we arrive home and the second the car is parked I immediately throw open the door to gag outside the car. Nothing comes up. My girlfriend waits until I’m done dry heaving and then walks me to our front door where she fumbles with the key, trying to unlock the door as quickly as possible. My stomach can’t wait and I turn to gag over the railing that sits perpendicular to the door. I can feel her rubbing my back. Eventually she gets the key in and I RUN to the bathroom and immediately start heaving. They turn productive pretty quick and soon I’m burping up chunks of cheese and bread into the water. It’s coming up my throat painstakingly slowly and getting caught in the back of my mouth, and I’m having to work really hard to get everything up. After it’s over I lay down on the floor in front of the toilet, completely exhausted. Like for part 2!!!

The Guest House - Chapter 5
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Series Summary: Dean Winchester is going through a nasty divorce. He doesn't have much left to his name, but what he does have is his house. Leave it to his soon-to-be ex wife to find a way to even ruin that for him. Enter Y/N, who is looking to get away from life for a bit, and stumbles right into the middle of it all.
The Guest House Master List
Word Count: 2,478
A/N: I'm back!! It's been a doozy of a few weeks; lots of grad school homework, illnesses, my brother's wedding. And to top it off had a nice little health scare.
But I've been craving getting back to this story. This chapter is a little shorter but keeps the story moving! Hope you enjoy
“So what exactly did you do before you quit?” Dean asks casually as you head back to the house.
“Data marketing.” Dean turns towards you with a raised brow. “I look at how and what people spend their money on and make recommendations for how to sell products.” It was the easiest way to explain your job. You’ve tried a few times over the years, and you almost always left people confused, including your mother, who even after seven years still didn’t understand what you did on a daily basis.
“I’ll take your word for it.” He smirks. “Do you enjoy what you do?” You smile as the town passes outside the windshield.
“I do.” You hum. “For me it’s like a puzzle.” Your hands get animated. “You have all these pieces of information and you have to put them together to figure out how to best market a product. It’s fun. It’s like being a detective except no one dies.” This gets a hearty laugh out of Dean as you come to a stop light.
“A detective?” Dean chuckles with a wide grin as the light turns green.
“What can I say, I love a good mystery and I have a weak stomach.” You shrug. It was true. You loved a good murder mystery but if you were watching a movie, it was usually through your fingers. Even clearly fake blood churns your stomach.
Dean pouts out his lower lip as he rolls his head side to side, considering your response.
“Fair enough.” He concedes.
“What about you?” You ask in return. “You’ve been a mechanic since you were sixteen?” You recall him mentioning it earlier. He nods.
“I started part-time in high school to make some extra cash. I was saving up for an old car that I wanted to buy and figured taking a mechanic job would be a good place to learn how to fix it up once I got it.”
You look around the cab of the pickup; it doesn’t look like what you would consider a “classic” car, just a regular truck, probably a decade or so old if you had you guess. Dean catches your wandering eye.
“This is not the car.” He scoffs, almost offended you would think that. “This is my work car. My baby is at a special garage where she’s protected from sun damage, dust, anything else that could damage her.” He begins listing off concerns on each finger on his hand that’s not currently on the steering wheel.
“Your baby?” You gape at the mention of the presumed pet name. “I’m confused, are we still talking about a car?” His carefree laughter fills the truck.
“Yes, she’s a car, but I built her from the ground up. She’s the most important thing to me.” He speaks with admiration, and your brows fold in at the center, listening to disbelief as the man next to you speaks about a car like a normal person would a child, or a spouse. Definitely not a car.
“Has Lisa tried renting her on Hertz yet?” You laugh along with him, but you only hear the sound of your voice echoing through the cab. You glance towards him, his smile gone.
“Shit, Dean, I’m sorry.” You sputter, throwing your hands out towards him. “I shouldn’t have said that.” You quickly backpedal, your words almost tripping over each other as you realize what you’ve said.
What a dumb thing to say. You’re literally making fun of his divorce. Smooth, Y/N. If Dean weren’t sitting next to you, you would give yourself a rightful smack to the forehead.
“No, no, it’s okay.” He tries to assure you, but the lightness in his voice is gone. A silence settles over the truck as you squeeze your eyes shut and turn towards your window. AKA away from Dean.
Shit. Why the hell did I say that? You mentally berate yourself again. Just as the two of you were finally getting to a good spot.
“It was a good joke.” Dean chimes in. “Seriously, relax.” You open your eyes and peek over your shoulder to find Dean glancing between you and the road, his lips slightly turned upwards.
“Truly, it’s fine.” You huff out a deep breath. You don’t totally believe him, but at least he wasn’t holding it against you.
“I swear I didn’t mean it like that.” Your voice drips with sincerity, your body flashing hot with embarrassment. Dean just purses his lips.
“Can I ask you something?” His tone is serious. Oh god. You just look at him and he glances from the road to you. “Are you going to be super awkward now?”
You huff out a laugh, your heart still pounding hard in your chest as the tightness starts to dissipate. Dean chuckles next to you as the tension is left behind you like the town in the rearview mirror.
Ten minutes later, you’re back at the house, the hood of your car propped open as Dean leans inside, working on removing the corroded battery as you watch a few steps behind him, keeping your distance so as to not hover.
“You seem to be up early today?” He shoots you a glace over his shoulder as he pops the battery out of its place. He straightens up, giving his lower back a stretch before leaning his prominent figure down and placing the ruined battery on the ground and grabbing the fresh one next to it.
That was true. The last week or so you had been sleeping in. Especially since you weren’t getting rudely awakened by Dean anymore. But, of course the morning you had plans, this morning, your car decided to crap out.
“I was actually planning to hike Mount Carmel.” You had been researching some of the local hiking trails around, wanting to get out into nature and get in a workout, and Mount Carmel seemed easy enough that you didn’t have to worry about an injury since you’d be going alone. And a lot of the trail reviews mentioned that the area was safe for solo hiking. You weren’t trying to become a cold case on your vacation.
“Figured it could be a nice way to start the morning.” You shrug as Dean’s gaze catches yours as he reaches into his toolbox for something.
“Maybe do some meditating once I got to the top. But like everything else with this trip, nothing has gone according to plan.” You take a deep breath and your hands slap against your thighs.
“Meditating?” His whole face scrunches as he rests the new car battery on the edge of the car as he turns to face you.
“Yes, meditating.” You challenge back. “It’s good for you.” He raises his eyebrows at you.
“Isn’t meditating just breathing?” He asks with a slight shake of his head, like he’s trying to work it out for himself.
“Technically yes, but it’s about focusing on your body. Quieting your mind and honing in on the world around you.” Dean rolls his eyes with a scoff and he turns back towards the car.
“You sound like Lisa. She was into yoga and all the crap.” His voice is partially obscured as he leans in towards the engine.
You fold your lips in, wondering if you should say what just popped into your mind.
Fuck it. You seemed to be getting along. And it wasn’t like he didn’t deserve a few jabs after the nonsense he had pulled with you the first half of your vacation.
“It’s really good for anger, you know.” Dean shoots you a look over his shoulder, and you bite down a smirk at his gaze.
Well god damn if the sun wasn’t hitting him just right as he stared you down. Not to mention the view you were getting as he leaned over the car.
You had to wonder exactly what went wrong in their marriage for Lisa to leave a man this good-looking. It’s not like people didn’t marry just for looks alone sometimes. But obviously there were some deep-seeded issues considering how bitter their divorce seemed to be,
“I’m not angry,” He huffs, his bottom lip pouting out.
“Suurrreee,” You breathe out under your breath as you cross your arms and lean against a nearby tree as he continues to work.
A few minutes later, Dean wipes his hands on his jeans and shuts the hood of your car.
“All set.” He turns towards you with a grin, and you can’t help but match it as you push off the tree and straighten up.
“So how much do I owe you?” You rock back on your heels, your hands resting on your lower back. You were hoping it wasn’t going to be crazy expensive. You really knew nothing when it came to cars, just that you were always left with a nice dent in your credit card bill whenever you had to take it into a shop.
“It’s on the house.” He smiles at you easily.
“Dean.” Your shoulders drop at his offer. “C’mon, you don’t need to do that.” You start to argue, then a sour thought hits you and you frown.
“Are you just doing this because you feel bad that I don’t have a job?” Pity. That’s why he was helping you. And that's why you didn't want to tell him about your situation in the first place.
Dean’s smile doesn’t falter as he shakes his head.
“No this is not because I feel bad for you. Consider this my gesture of a fresh start.” He holds his hand out to you, and you can’t stop as your cheeks dimple with your smile as you take it.
His cool fingers wrap around yours and you tighten your grip on him, not wanting to think you were some fragile little girl who didn’t know how to shake a hand. He just raises his eyebrows before you drop your hold.
“Pleasure doing business with ya.” You want to wink at him like he did you at the shop, but like you said, no one in real life besides Dean apparently, can actually pull off a wink, so instead you just continue to smile bright.
Dean wants to laugh when you grip his hand extra tight, like you’re trying to prove something, but he just returns your smile instead.
“By the way,” he starts as he drops your hand, leaning against your bumper as he crosses his arms and ankles. His brows furrow as your tongue briefly peeks out onto your lips, and his own mouth pops open, before he realizes he was in the middle of a sentence. “This time of year Mount Carmel is probably pretty icy. Temps have been below freezing since the month started. If you’re going to hike, you should probably go with someone.”
You roll your eyes with a huff and cross your arms.
“Yeah me and all my friends can go.” You scoff with raised eyebrows. Dean just returns the gesture as he rolls his own eyes.
“Are you sure you didn’t get fired for being a smart ass?” He shoots back, and your mouth drops open.
“Huh.” You nod, your tongue pressed against your inner cheek giving you a weird lump that Dean grimaces at.
“Guess I deserve that for the Lisa joke earlier.” You conceded. Dean just gives you a nod to the side, but peppered with a smile, so you know, no hard feelings.
“Guess you did.” Dean smirks as he pushes off the car.
“By the way, there’s some local hiking groups, maybe you can give them a look to see if they’re doing anything. But if you’re still hellbent on taking a hike, I’m off Thursday, and I’ve hiked it a few times if you still can’t find anyone.”
The words fall out of his mouth before he even realizes what he was saying.
What the fuck.
He had not intended to offer to be your hiking buddy. Hell, he hadn’t hiked those trails since the early years of his marriage, back when he would do anything to make Lisa happy, even if he thought it was stupid. Who wanted to waste their day going for an hours-long walk? Apparently you and his soon-to-be ex wife.
Your eyebrows raise.
“Seriously?” You ask with skepticism. He doesn’t blame you.
No going back now.
“Uh, yeah if you want. I promise I’m not a serial killer or anything.” He gives a laugh, but cringes internally.
Who the fuck says that? Really, what the fuck was he doing.
You narrow your eyes.
“Sounds like something a serial killer would say.” Your face is serious, but your eyes give you away. A laugh escapes before he can stop it. He definitely wasn’t wrong about you being a smartass. And he likes that he can seemingly read you, whether you mean to show your emotions or not. He wasn’t sure. Yet.
“Fair enough.” He claps his hands together. “But I gotta be gettin’ back to the shop.” He points his thumb over his shoulder, like his motley crew were waiting behind him. “Someone’s gotta keep those boys in line.
You laugh with raised eyebrows. For some reason, it feels more like you’re laughing at him, and not with him. He feels heat rush up his neck.
Truly. What the fuck is wrong with me right now.
“Uhh, but if you have any more car issues, feel free to give me a call. Like you know, I’m right down the street.” He starts to turn, but your voice stops him.
“And how am I supposed to call you if I don’t have your number?” He turns back to you, happy to see you still smiling. Something about it warms the cool morning.
“Right.” He reaches into his back pocket and whips out his phone. “What’s your number?” He pops open a blank text message. When you don’t respond, he looks up. Your smile has turned cheeky, and you look like you have something smart on the tip of your tongue. He decides to beat you to it.
“If you give me a fake number, I kinda know where you live.” He gives you a pointed look before your whole body shakes with the most carefree laugh he’s heard so far.
“Once more, sounds like something a serial killer would say.” You continue through your giggles.
“Just give me the damn number.” He huffs and you relent, giving him your number as he types it into the phone.
Dean Winchester. Is all the message says when he sends it, and a moment later you pull your own phone from your pocket, holding up the notification to him triumphantly.
“I’ll see ya later.” He gives you a low wave before he hops into his truck and heads back to the auto shop for the day.
NEXT TIME:
“I can’t believe you consider this fun,” he huffs behind you, watching every step he takes.
“No one forced you to come.” You remind him with an easy breath. Not that you’re trying to taunt him while he seemed to be struggling as he staggered behind you, but it was just another reminder that he truly seemed to hate hiking.
“You know you could walk on a flat road. I mean, really, what the hells the difference? There’s plenty of trees on the road by my place.”

Winter Mood; Joe Burrow
Summary: You get dragged onto a snowy trip by Joe and end up having a blast.
Word count: 1335
——————————————————————————
“Do I have to go?” You whined.
“You would be the best girlfriend ever if you did.” Joe begged.
Joe was dragging you on a late winter trip with his family. The only component causing hesitation was the negative degree weather. You loved snow activities but hate the weather. In addition, you had just gotten back from a forced trip to Aspen, Colorado with your family. You were practically tired of the snow and the cold.
“Ugh, fine. But you will have to come ski with me. You need to experience it at least once!”
“I mean technically I can since it’s not season but I don’t want to risk any injuries.” Joe replied.
“Then I-” You started.
“Nope, you already said yes.” Joe cut you off.
“Appreciate your hustle, though.” You said turning into your walk-in closet to pack. You decided to just go and you knew this would make him happy.
“Love you.” He yelled down the room.
Tossing through your winter section of the closet, unsure of what to pack, you just threw in a few North Face jackets and snow pants alongside some thermal wear. Joe walked in to pack too.
“Babe, where’s that Moncler Toshiba Clashiba jacket you got me for my birthday last year?” He asked.
“Pft. It’s called the Washiba and I returned it.” You clarified.
“What! Why did you?” He exclaimed.
“Moncler would never sell anything to us ever again if they heard you call the Washiba jacket a Toshiba whatever.” You said as you pulled out the short-down jacket from a corner.
“Quit the jokes.” He chuckled stuffing the jacket into his duffel.
“You started it.” You smiled.

Next morning
“Y/n, you don’t need that many layers right now. We’re just going to the airport.” Joe laughed seeing you bundled up.
“You’re going to regret wearing shorts once you get off that airplane.” You disagreed.
“I hope that you are aware of a so-called invention called a heater.” He retorted.
“Knew you would be a jackass this weekend. Which is why I brought the other inventions. The ones that I am aware of.” You winked.
“Naughty girl. Doubt you’ll need silly little toys.” He smirked sliding a hand down.
“ Get in the car Burrow.” You scoffed.

Post plane ride
Luckily Joe secured a pilot for a private flight which resulted in you sleeping the entire time. Stepping onto the tarmac, the cold breeze hits your skin immediately.
“You cold?” Joe asked as you shivered.
“Nope! Not at all. I’m so glad we decided to escape to this secluded island with warm weather instead of going to some igloo state.” You gushed with sarcasm.
“Sure is going to be insatiable for my desire to have a little fun this weekend.” Joe muttered.
Noticing your comment got to him after realizing the tone in his voice and the sad look on his face. Wrapping your hands around his torso, you laid your cheek against his back as he bent down to grab a beanie from his bag.
“You know I’m just kidding right? I’d go anywhere with you. I’m actually looking forward to this weekend.” You said softly.
“You’re forgetting that I’m made of tungsten. That didn’t get to me, sweetheart.” He laughed.
“I’m going to throw so many snowballs at you, you aren’t even ready.” You smiled.
Greeting Joe’s family who all arrived at the Air Bnb before you both arrived. You helped out making dinner with the rest of the crew in the kitchen while Joe played Super Smash Bros with his nephews. After dinner, you walked into the bedroom with Joe already in bed.
“So we decided we’re leaving for the resort tomorrow morning. It's only a 10-minute drive from here. There’s a spot inside where you can chill and watch me tear up the mountains.” You told him after making plans with Joe’s brothers and their wives.
“Can’t wait to watch you tear up a mountain.”
“I just realized you never watched me ski before. I still can’t believe you have never skied or snowboarded like ever!”
“Snow activities aren’t really my cup of tea.” He said.
“Whatever. You’ll be stuck babysitting the kids.” You piped.
“I guess you’re going to be the one teaching our kids how to” Joe gushed.
You beamed at the concept of having kids with Joe. Joe noticed recently how obsessed you were with little kids at the moment, not to mention how good you were with them as well. “Yeah, I guess so.” You grinned.
_____________________________________________
Next morning
Waking up to Joe in bed, lying on his back with his pillow folded in half for extra height and his arms flexed behind his head, realizing that all the pillows were around you. Quickly jumping out of bed to shower and briefly do your makeup since your face would be covered with all the gear anyways. Coming out of the bathroom ready to go, you notice Joe right next to the door.
“Morning, Babe!” You chirped.
“Good morning beautiful. Looks like someone’s in a fabulous mood this morning, you totally look like a local here. Definitely the most gorgeous one.” Joe smiled with his sleepy eyes.
“Thanks and I am. Go peek out the window, it looks like a winter wonderland.” You said.
“I think I’m going to save the ‘I-told-you-so’ lecture until we get back home.” He chuckled.
“Okay! Go get ready! We have a fun day ahead of us.” You said swatting his bare chest.
Since none of the ski participants brought their own gear, you all decided to go to a small business rental shop before the rush hour hit. Leaving Joe at the Air BnB, you return to him just a few steps ahead of you on the front porch.
“Babe, where’d you go?” You huffed struggling to carry all your stuff and noticing him carrying a drink carrier.
“This one coffee shop down the street. Here, it’s your usual.” He said handing you a cup.
“A little busy here.” You muttered trying to step into the house.
“Here give me that.” Joe said as he threw your poles across his shoulder and grabbed your skis.
“Damn, this shit is heavy as hell.” He grunted. Scurrying into the house, he handed you your drink.
“Hmm iced light caramel macchiato with an extra shot of expresso. You know me too well.”
“Only psychopaths drink iced coffee in this weather.”
Switching different cars, snuggling into Joe’s side for those 10 minutes.
“We’re here!” Robin exclaimed, excited to hit the slopes. “Okay, kids. Listen to Uncle Joe and Grandpa, be good.” Joe’s sister-in-law was hushing her kids.
“So that’s the lift, it takes you all the way up. And the-” You were starting to say.
“Sweets, I know how the whole experience works, you don’t gotta’ explain it to me.” Joe rolled his eyes.
“Alright then. I’m going to go now.” You hollered pulling him into a bear hug.
“Be safe out there and come back soon.” He said kissing your forehead and pulling down your goggles off your helmet and onto your eyes as you giggled.
“These are sick! I should wear these for my season opener outfit!”
“Oh my god stop.” You laughed as you started walking towards the exit of the lodge.
Joe watched you glide through the slopes over and over again. Just happy to see you having fun. After your thighs bursts into flames, you decided to go check on Joe.
“Hey, there's the novice!” He yelled.
“Novice?” You questioned.
“I saw you fall a couple of times and do the splits at least twice.” He laughed.
“I fell twice.” You said flatly. Breaking into a loud laugh couple of seconds later.
“I love you, I’m glad I came even though I can feel a sore throat coming in.”
“Shoot! I gonna need to use that throat of yours tonight though.”
“Joey shh.” You guided your hands towards his dad sitting a few feet away.
“I love you more.”

Meeting Superhero!Ateez
Hongjoong
Magic was not something to be tarried with. It was not a substance one could bend to their will, it was an art and a fickle one at that.
No one understood that better than a person who wasn’t meant to have it in the first place. He hadn’t been tricked into selling his soul, lost himself in some foolish, evil deal, no. Oh, no.
He’d gone and died.
It had felt just like blacking out when he’d been hit, coming to like the collision was barely beyond a concussion. But the world wasn’t the world when Hongjoong awoke.
There was no sun, no plants, only twisted, dead roots, and the people passing by him little more than glowing wraiths, some looking more human than others. His first reaction was to hold his hands before his eyes, exhaling in relief at the sight of their flesh. Except it felt like his ribcage had shrunk; he was unable to get as much air in or out as usual, every fight for air shallowed.
“What’s happening? Where am I?”
“This is the Underworld,” a low voice replied from behind him, sending him shooting up to his feet and turning to face its owner.
A woman perhaps twice his age, one draped in loose black veils falling around the tight shadowy raiment she wore. Her hair like emerald flame wreathing an expression of dark curiosity, like Hongjoong were a bug she hadn’t decided if she was annoyed by.
He was confused, but not afraid. “Well, I want out. There was so much I was in the middle of out there. I can’t lose it all in some accident. I can barely breathe down here!”
The woman chuckled deeply. “Getting sent back is no simple task. We do not idly accept mistakes.”
“Isn’t there something I can do?” Hongjoong urged, stepping forward and gazing into the woman’s blazing green eyes.
“You will never be fully living again. To return is to become a conduit of the Underworld.”
“Will I be a ghost?”
“No, but your humanity will never fully be restored. Death’s connection is inescapable. A part of you will forever be tied to us. Is this what you wish?”
Hongjoong had a career up there. Friends who weren’t ghosts. A hard drive full of projects. A distinct lack of green flame littering the ground. Music. Fashion. Whatever life he could have. Breath in his lungs. The words escaped his shallow chest so quickly he barely realized he’d spoken them. “Yes, it is.”
The deal was sealed willingly and the Underworld faded away, the final sight in Hongjoong’s eyes those points of green burning into his soul.
~
Nothing seemed different when breath rushed fully back into his heaving lungs or when he crawled from the wreckage of his car. His feet still hit solid ground as he walked back to his apartment under the night sky.
And the next day when he was yanked into an alley by two dark figures, his heart sure beat. And when they, speaking of him being the one they were sent for, raised knives, surely it was a one-way ticket out of his second life. Maybe he’d be like a cat, get nine…
All of the stress, every endorphin pumped through Hongjoong’s newly-reanimated body, dropped from him like sweat and arced out as green flame.
The cloaked assailants recoiled at the flame, cursed as glowing forms rose from it. Two of them little more than skeletons, one of them much more humanoid. More like the wraiths Hongjoong saw. More like the Emerald Lady herself. He couldn't help recoiling himself, glancing down again at his hands in disbelief. That was of his making?
The duo of skeletons lashed out first, parrying dagger with sword. You sealed the deal, slamming the butt of your polearm down upon the concrete and sending cracks erupting across the charcoal grey. Beneath their staggered feet, a fissure opened up, sending the men plummeting to some unknown doom.
And with that, you turned to Hongjoong, head cocked with interest. "You're going to be hunted from now on."
He took a deep breath, balled his hands into fists. "What did she do to me?"
"Why do you think she let you go so easily? You're the next Crane."
Tempting was it to look away from the burning glow of your eyes, so similar to the ones who bore him half-escape. Hongjoong wasn't the sort to give in, though. "What does that mean?"
"You were never meant to come to the Underworld, even witness it. Whatever your memories tell you, that was no ordinary accident you were in."
Seonghwa
When you first saw him, sparks flew. Literally.
You’d been focused on the mission at hand, hovering above what you hoped was the main jet for infiltration when a burst of the most beautiful glittering energy sparked before you, wavering like the Aurora Borealis at the edges as it struck open the adjacent craft. It was enough to shake you from the crosshairs haze of disabling anything, stealing your gaze over to the sweeping flight of a black-haired man in a dashing caped suit of violet and silver.
Stories of such a man had reached your ears. “You’re the one they call Cosmos, aren’t you?” You called, mirroring the smile that rose to his lips.
He nodded. “And you must be Depth Charge.
“I will have you know that that was not my first choice,” you replied as you sent a pulse echoing through the jet’s steel, “or my choice at all. It barely makes sense. I go up, not down.”
Cosmos chuckled at that. His eyes sparkled like the stars in his little energy burst trick, giving him an air of innocence despite his trim figure, the way he sailed through the sky in that l roguish suit. Maybe this was going to be a fun fight after all.
He swerved narrowly past a barrage of jet-fire. “Maybe we should talk when we’re not, you know, attempting to prevent the theft of confidential technology?”
"You're no fun," you mock-scoffed, smirking and boosting yourself to the next jet with a pulse of energy.
"And you're not the one getting shot at!" He fired back, blasting more crackling, star-studded energy at the next barrage before ducking below the shrapnel.
"Yeah, yeah, just come back me up, I see our guy," you urged him, crawling to the top of the jet and focusing the waves you felt into a bladelike space.
The hole had just been cut open when Cosmos swooped in next to you. He was somehow taller than you'd pictured once you saw him up close, serious expression completely changing his bearing. You studied his profile for a few seconds before sliding in through your entry hole legs first. Boots hitting hard floor with a wince-inducing jolt up your ankles, you readied another sonic blade and crept closer to the cockpit. Some shuffling at your back told you Cosmos followed close behind.
Two goons rose from their seats at the sight of you, landing a couple of punches to both of you and even managing to knock you over before you sent their inertia right back at them, slamming them against the wall as you held your surely-bruised jaw. For all his spark, Cosmos held his own in hand-to-hand combat. Well, relatively speaking. He ended up knocking his opponent out with a surprising roundhouse kick. You smiled again, giving a shake of your head.
"What?"
"Extra," you chuckled.
"I'll take that as a compliment," he replied, extending an arm to the cockpit door, "would you like to do the honors?"
"Thank you, my good man," you humored him, peeling open the door to meet with a faceful of gun barrels.
"I would stay back if I were you," the head thief remarked. Geez, was the guy reading an old movie script?
"I would stand down, actually, unless you'd like to sail through a hole torn in space," Cosmos told him, standing firm.
Your jaw dropped as you turned to face him. "You can do that?"
He gave you an urgent look.
"Sorry."
"You wouldn't risk letting this device go any more than I would," your enemy sneered, tugging his tie into place.
"I wouldn't have to. That's kind of the thing with being able to manipulate gravity. And yes, I can do that."
With that, he raised a hand and the jet flipped upside down. No, wait, you flipped upside down, drifting into the air against your own volition and flailing fecklessly for a few flaps before firing off a balancing pulse. The case drifted loosely in the air, into the hands of one of the gunners, and then right back out as Cosmos summoned it forth. The men opened fire instantly, bullets drifting slowly into air filling with faint whisps of smoke. Both of you banked hard left to dodge the fire, grunting as you hit the wall hard, but Cosmos stood firm again, offering you his hand. Taking it, you felt yourself hurtling through the air, a familiar sensation as speed returned, then the harsh blasts of wind upon leaving the hull.
"Sorry I stole your target," he told you as he drifted and you blasted away, gazes turning from the final jet's descent.
"Stole it?" You snorted, giving him a smile. "I believe that's called helping me. I'm not exactly in this for the brownie button."
"Oh, yeah, what was it again? For fun, right?"
"Something like that," you agreed.
"By the way, if we're going to be working together, we better know each other's names. Real names. My name is Seonghwa." And there were those stars again, lighting up his dark eyes in a manner far too on the nose for his hero name.
Heart fluttering, you gave him your name.
Yunho
Fortunate. That’s how many people described living in a city with a guardian. Hopeful, like if they were to get into trouble, that very man could, in the most literal sense, swoop in and rescue them. It was like magic how he appeared at the scene of wrongdoings- it only added to the feeling that he could see all that occurred through the hustle and bustle of the proverbial concrete jungle.
For Yunho, it was a lot of pressure. Phrases like the man, the myth, the legend hit a little too close to home. What if he were to let someone down? What if one day the mask got yanked off and all everyone saw was a fresh college graduate semi-desperately searching for a job to apply his major to? He didn’t always feel like a hero, just like a man doing his best to help out.
A man with wishes and dreams like any other. Oftentimes that wish was simply for life to be normal again. Like, he had been granted this amazing opportunity and yet it still fell like a burden across his heart sometimes. Especially when he looked at you.
You were his next door neighbor, the occupant of the apartment adjacent to his. Some days you both would be out on your balconies at the same time just staring out at city lights with your favorite drink in hand and you’d glance across the way and smile at each other. Start a little conversation. What do you think those people across the way are doing? Man, you wouldn’t believe this customer at work today. Whatcha got there, the usual?
It dawned on Yunho sometimes in some poetic delusion that you two took and occupied identical spaces, yet they would be wholly unknown to the other. Made reflections of someone still learned. It made him want to clean his apartment, frankly.
It put things into perspective about his powers, too. One time his spidey sense went off and he told you to step back, only for a bird poo to land exactly where your head would have been. As a jest you’d called him your hero, but the jolt that sent through his heart was anything but funny. Fuel, that’s what it was. Motivation to be the man, the myth, the legend, even in the smallest way.
~
The sense rang through his body, slid down his spine, mere seconds before the cry for help. Yunho would have recognized that voice anywhere.
As he launched a web out and swung closer to the sound, his heart pounded. It had never been anyone he knew before. It wasn’t supposed to be someone he knew. But it was you. Sailing between buildings, he stuck to the top of the nearest one, gazing down at the man before you and narrowing his eyes at his wild gestures. Without warning, though, he was grabbing you, pinning you to the wall and reaching a hand-
Thwip! A hand that was pinned to his side before it could even reach a weapon, touch you again. Swinging out from his viewpoint corner, Yunho slammed into the creep with his feet, kicking him off of you. In retaliation, he landed a punch with his good hand.
“What is this,” Yunho lowered his voice lest you recognize it as your neighbor’s, “‘I can take you with one hand tied behind my back’?”
Before the man could reply Yunho tied him down again, not wanting to stoop any closer to his level of brutality.
“I think I’ll have a word with the police on you. Heard they were investigating a bunch of abductions. It’s about time they got some practice in.”
Footsteps rang out as you ran to his side. “Spiderman! Thank you! I had no idea if anyone would hear me, but I should have known!”
“Hear you? I could feel you,” he replied, “well, er, that is, I… I have this, you know, danger sense and I-”
“Hey, it’s ok. I get it,” you said, wrapping your arms around him in a quick side hug, “I know you’re nothing like that guy. Your partner’s lucky to have a guy like you.”
“Well,” Yunho’s voice lowered even more as your eyes peered into his masked ones, as if you could see him, “I don’t actually have one. No one’s really into, uh, yeah.”
“Well, then, can I do this?” With two fingers, you motioned near the edge of his mask, sliding up its corner.
Yunho inhaled, eyes widening beneath their white affects. “Sure.”
Your fingers felt cool when they brushed the edges of his skin, staying true to their word as they peeled up the tiniest section of his mask. Leaning in, you pressed a kiss to his cheek. It took everything in Yunho not to giggle then and there.
“Thank you again,” you breathed as you leaned back.
“No problem,” Yunho replied, “need a walk back home?”
You put a hand on your hip. “Since when does Spiderman walk?”
Chuckling, he shrugged. “Thought offering a swing might scare you.”
You smiled. “I’d be down.”
“Alright, then, hold on tight and name the address.”
Yeosang
It was just another day on the streets of Seoul. The day's bustle had taken its toll on the sidewalk, crowding the strip with bodies and voices. All Yeosang wanted was to get out of there. No sooner had that thought occurred, though, was he reflexively granted that wish: one of the multitudinous passersby careened sideways into him, and in his startlement he’d disappeared entirely.
Cursing internally, he searched for witnesses, sighing with relief at the simple alley he’d unthinkingly sent himself to. Premature relief, for as he turned to leave said alley, there you were standing as if frozen in a bend over a trash can, eyes wide as saucers. He felt his own eyes reflexively widen, resisting every impulse to disappear again and leave you just wondering if you’d gone crazy, never to see him again in a city that large.
A smile spread across your face. “That was awesome! Dude, you just teleported!”
“No, I didn’t,” he deadpanned, taking a few steps toward the alley opening.
“Ok, gaslighter.”
Yeosang stopped dead in his tracks, turned to fix an eye upon you again, sighed. “You understand what a big secret you just witnessed?”
Straightening, you shot him a finger gun. “So you did teleport?”
“Yes, I did. I know how this works,” Yeosang answered, “what will it take for you to keep quiet?”
“Are you a superhero?” You asked, skipping over a scattering of alley trash to move to his side.
“I-” Yeosang sighed. Most days he felt more cursed than heroic. Burdened with secrecy and threats to all who stood for differences, deviations of any kind. But a mutation like his? Inherently greater safety than most challengers to Seoul folk. Dodging the proverbial bullet. He’d managed to teleport a woman who jumped off a building and have a conversation with her. Weeks later. She saw him again, said she considered him her hero. Humbling to say the least. After the long pause, he swallowed. “I try.”
“That’s so cool! What you need is a sidekick.”
“I’m not exactly spiderman,” he replied sheepishly.
Your eyes darted briefly away, then back to his. “Home base?”
“I mean, I live somewhere already, but-”
“No, no,” you cut him off, waving a hand, “I mean like a secret hideout where you can conduct your operations and keep your research with your…administrative assistant.”
“Ok,” Yeosang chuckled, “that’s a pretty clever workaround for ‘sidekick’. But you have to realize people like me aren’t exactly caped crusaders. It’s not an organized thing, I don’t have a danger sense, I just…help where I can.”
At that, you nodded, eager expression finally sobering a bit. “I know. I had a friend whose family attacked him over his powers. He barely made it out of there. I don’t even know where he is now. I guess I just want a better face for you guys. Maybe I just want to make a hero.”
Oh. Yeosang was not expecting that. His eyes widened, softened, blinked. “It’s a nice thought, but maybe let’s start small.” A part of him couldn’t believe he was even implying an agreement, but he’d been alone for so long. Alone wanting to believe someday the world would change.
“Like some cameras? A red-string sort of situation on local crime? Bullet dodge training?”
“I, uh, I think I’ve got the last one covered,” Yeosang replied, putting his hands in his pockets and finally shuffling toward the alley horizon, squinting as he crossed the sun’s threshold.
“You’ve been in a shootout?” You gasped, following him with a hand out over your wide eyes.
“Shh,” he hushed you, glancing back and forth at the thankfully empty street, “I told you! I try to help where I can. Even if it means making myself a target. I’m much harder to hit than the usual robbery victim.”
“This is so cool. What’s your name, by the way?”
“Yeosang.”
You gave him your name, glanced back at him from the peripheries of his vision. “They ever give you a nickname?”
“They usually just say I’m like trying to hit a ghost.”
“Ghost,” you murmured, “that could work.”
“Maybe it could,” Yeosang murmured back, smiling faintly into your wide grin, “maybe.”
San
Most of the other workers thought you were too young. You looked more the age of the test subjects, they said, despite you denying any presence of the mutagens. All you wanted was to understand them, just like anybody else. After all, harnessing the genetic component that allowed adaptation that fast had both amazing and terrifying implications for humanity. Implications not lost on the subjects themselves. It was for that reason that you were assigned to the one dubbed safest for beginners.
He was a young man about your age, a man with well-sculpted features and a contagious smile-on the rare occasion you got to see it. It wasn’t a happy life, after all, in a laboratory quarters, even if they did “simulate comfort”. It was a lie and everyone knew it- those were no apartments. They were cells. It was no way to live, and there you were working there and contributing to it.
Well, sort of. “Ok, I know they say no pins in the walls, but I keep hearing how the guy who likes to give himself bear claws has practically scratched the entire things off his room, so seems a bit hypocritical. I got your old Day6 poster,” you told your subject, holding up a few pushpins in one hand and his poster in the other.
“Aren’t you going to get in trouble?” San asked, grin emphasizing his charming dimples.
“If they fire me, they lose the latest honors geneticist, so I don’t think they want to risk it over a poster.”
“Good point,” he conceded, accepting your gift and crossing the room to pin it on the wall nearest his bed one corner at a time.
His motions were careful, calculated- far less erratic than many of the other subjects’. Subjects. You kept using that word. Dehumanizing. Was that the end goal?
“Alright, what do you think?”
San’s voice cut through your thoughts, directing your attention to the band now displayed upon his wall. One small addition and the room had that much more personality. That much more San.
You smiled. “I like it.”
He nodded toward all the guys in the picture. “Who’s your favorite?”
“I dunno,” you mused, pointing, “that one’s pretty handsome.”
“Young K? Oh, everyone tells me I look like him,” San grins.
“No, they don’t!” You tease. “You would’ve just said that about anyone I called handsome!”
“Maybe,” he shrugged, “gotta have some fun before my daily blood sample, huh?”
Smiling sadly, you just nodded, stepping back to take up your syringe tray from where you’d set it on his bookshelf.
~
Shrill warnings echoed throughout every corner of the alternately dimming and brightening laboratory, lights flashing their own alarm as your feet struck the smooth, institutional stained concrete. There’d been a containment breach, an immediate interruption to your protein synthesis as battle stations rang.
Restrain. That was the order. As if you could do anything against a guy with bear claws or venomous barbs or someone with the agility of a cheetah. That was why your company wanted the source so badly- super soldiers and all that. Always soldiers. Never curing wounds. Never jellyfish immortality. None of the subjects had thought of that one, either, as far as you knew, but then you’d yet to witness anyone using the mutagen’s power.
What could you do? There was a taser in your pocket, a small standard-issue you’d received in case of this very unlikely scenario. Restrain was about the only chance you had, but the thought of running into the breach barely crossed your mind amidst the chaos of scrambling compatriots and banging doors as the mass escape began.
All you could think of was reaching Quarters 314. San’s room. It was insane, it was stupid, it was the absolute irrevocable death of your career there- but then again, so would all the subjects escaping be.
If a bunch of the most powerful mutants you housed were escaping already, you wanted San to have freedom. Every cent you had, you’d bet that he could walk back out onto the streets and never hurt a single soul. That’s why they gave him to you in the first place- he was complacent. Kind.
304. The moment the door entered the haze of your vision, you slammed your key card on the lock sensor pad and tumbled in.
San was hunched near the doorway. “What’s going on, did someone get hurt?”
“They’re escaping. All the strongest ones,” pausing for a heartbeat, you reconsidered your words, thought about how every man and woman in the building had the same skills, “well, all the fighters. Come on.”
His eyes, shining as ever, widened. “Are we evacuating?”
“No,” you shook your head, grabbing his hand, “you’re leaving.”
“I don’t understand.”
“This might be your one chance to get back out there and live. I’ve been coming in here every day for weeks. You don’t deserve to live in a cell. As badly as I wanna know how you work, this isn’t a life for anyone. Do you want out?” You asked, tone firm despite your frantic heart, searching his eyes.
San nodded. “Ok. Thank you. I can get us out.”
You frowned. “Us?”
“If this is all on the cameras you stick everywhere, they won’t be your biggest fans anymore.”
“Good point. Are you going to…” You trailed off, unsure how to broach the subject.
He hummed in response, those soft eyes you’d seen every day hardening like never before and that sharp jaw setting. He squared…braced himself.
“You don’t like doing it, do you?” The question came out of your mouth before it had fully entered your brain, but to your relief he didn’t look annoyed.
“Depends on what it is. You haven’t seen it, have you?”
You shook your head.
“Well, sorry this is your first time,” San said, and with that, his shoulders squared again, his head falling as if struck down.
Subconsciously, you reached out hands at his pained expression, but what could you do? It was all inside him.
At least at first. Soon, the slick fabric of his moisture-wicking regulation top was splitting, bursts of blood spraying as new bone and tissue arose, tendrils that solidified into sharp flesh-toned blades before bursting into feathers. Tears fell from San’s eyes as he shakily rose back to his feet. He’d just grown wings.
And as if all that blood and tissue and the sheer amount of development occurring over mere seconds was little more than a strenuous workout, he wiped his brow with his left hand and extended his right.
“Alright, let’s get out of here.”
Mingi
Sometimes he wondered why he was chosen.
What it was about him that another race from a different planet would think he had what it took to bear and protect one of their greatest treasures? He’d just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or maybe the right place. The demand had been simple- keep it safe until others arrive for it.
The crash had happened when he was home, a sound so deafening it was like the world was ending. Shaking as he was, Mingi had run outside into the rush of the night wind, out along the smoke trail in the woods to see if whatever catastrophe had had survivors, if victims. And survivors there were- ones a bit odd-looking. Almost human save for the violet hue of their skin, the pointed tips of their ears, the vertical slits of eyelids revealed when the woman’s visor fell from across her eyes. Their skin felt different, too, as Mingi pulled them from beneath crushed metal and fire, firm and with smoothness gently interrupted by texture he could only describe as like small scales.
They didn’t look happy with him, but still accepted his help stumbling between trees and back into his home. They understood bandages, accepted beds. Swore Mingi to secrecy even as they thanked him days later. Be it technology or some uncanny occasion, they could speak to him. They could understand.
The mission they’d set out on was one of guardianship; the relic, something of myth, needed new housing and a new bearer.
“The one worthy will be selected,” the man told him in his deep, faintly accented hiss of a voice.
It was an imposition, sure. But how often did aliens land near one’s property guarding a weapon of legend? Mingi’s whole week had felt like a dream, and until he woke up the least he could do was deepen its lucidity.
“Can I see it?” He asked, peering up earnestly into their snakelike eyes from above the intricately carven and paneled box of steel with the most incredible iridescent shine he’d ever seen. Its contents had to be even more beautiful, right?
They watched, glanced down at the way his hands hovered reverently, stared back into his eyes.
“You are not of deceitful mind,” the woman replied.
“It is not out of depth that he welcomed strangers into his home,” the man shot back.
“No, it was out of kindness,” the woman insisted, waving a hand over the box, “as a reward, you may look upon the Heart of Steel.”
Gingerly, she traced some of the lines that Mingi had barely noticed with the tips of her long fingers, reaching beneath the bottom and holding her hands there until the top of the box simply floated a foot or two above the remainder, held by some microcosm gravity that drew a breath of awe from Mingi. Reflexively his fingers stretched toward the contents of the box, a smooth metal teardrop shape crafted from that same resplendent material.
Heat radiated from its small surface the moment he moved closer, sending him drawing back, but like a magnet it shot after him and into his hand.
“I’m sorry,” he said, glancing at both of the beings who still hadn’t offered him names, “I swear I’m not doing this!”
“No,” the woman shook her head, snake-eyes wide, “you are being chosen.”
~
“And you expect me to believe this why?” You asked him, brow arched.
“Because,” Mingi put up his hands in defense, eyes scanning your form, “I didn’t even want to touch it! Why would I steal this thing I know nothing about?”
“Delskvlln was right. Not a deep thinker,” you commented.
“See? I know him! They ended up telling me their names! His wife was…er…Syssmerlyss? I am so sorry if I’m not pronouncing it correctly.”
“Well, the accent needs work, but I suppose Syssmerlyss was right- you have a certain kindness about you.” You took two steps closer to him, half-tapping, half-pushing him on the shoulder twice in a gesture that probably didn’t fully translate. “Come on, then, we have training to do.”
“Well,” he scratched at the back of his neck sheepishly, “sometimes the suit doesn't cooperate, but I think I’m starting to get pretty good with the gravity swords.”
“It gave you the swords?”
“Heh, uh…yeah?”
Wooyoung
It was hard sometimes, using such abilities for good. Had he so chosen, Jung Wooyoung could have become a world leader, a dictator even. But that thought terrified him. The pressure sounded unbearable. No fun, either, not that former friends hadn’t tried to convince him countless times to use his gifts for that, too. He preferred the traditional methods of seduction, were he to desire employing any at all.
Accessing minds was Wooyoung’s least favorite skill, in fact. Seeing and hearing thoughts was crushing, uncomfortable, an unfair dominance. Bouncing twice as high as a person should be able to with a force field, though? Making things levitate out of people’s hands? Bee’s knees.
He'd been a rogue in the city, just a wanderer who did what he could to help others when he wasn’t working. Flinging the gun out of an armed robber’s hand, blocking bullets with force fields, even fighting back when he had to.
They just didn’t learn. He couldn’t help scoffing a bit and teasing them when they fired at him.
“Now, gentleman, isn’t this a bit insulting?” He’d ask, casually flipping a hand as the bullets ricocheted and buried themselves harmlessly into walls. “And besides, I don’t want to hurt you. I just think this doesn’t belong to you.”
Cue him summoning the stolen money or goods right from their indignant hands and, eventually, back to the rightful owner. After convincing them all to stand still with their hands in the air, of course.
There had just begun whispers of his presence, trepidation at the prospect of an illegal smuggle or a robbery for the first time, a name for him emerging when he faced the first true opposition.
“So, you’re the Vigilante everyone’s talking about, are you?”
“Is that what they call me?” Wooyoung shot back.
“Guess you aren’t in it for the fame,” you snickered, stepping further from the shadows of the doorway, a tube-shaped device Wooyoung didn’t recognize in your hand.
“What do you want with me?” He asked, glancing at it and crossing his arms.
“Ideally, you to get out of the way,” you replied, flicking something on the device and sending it unfolding with large cracks, climbing up your forearm like a mechanical caterpillar and glowing at the tip once your hand was completely enveloped.
“Out of the way of wh-” He didn’t have time to complete his sentence before a bolt of energy arced his way, his instincts barely kicking in in time for him to launch away from it.
Putting up a force field, he stood his ground, staring at you with new interest. “You’re part of the weapons racket, aren’t you?”
“A plus, genius,” you replied, smug satisfaction glinting in your eyes, “the city isn’t going to need you much longer.”
“You’re right,” he said, “because I’m about to kick your ass.”
Another bolt of purple energy came at him, shattering the faint glow of his field. Wooyoung’s jaw dropped, but he quickly righted it as he moved closer. It felt like his whole body clenched as his energy focused on peeling the device off. You winced in pain and jumped back as the gun fired an erratic shot that rained chunks of ceiling down behind Wooyoung’s back, sending a little lightning strike of guilt across his heart, but he kept at it, sending each piece yanked off to your side to fortify the restraints he was making. You struggled, panting and tugging as he worked, kicking aside his work and scrambling toward a panel on the wall. With each button you pressed, Wooyoung slid your feet out from under you, but in the end he heard the dreaded activation beep. The look you turned and shot him was a mix of defiance and resignation that shook him to his core and froze him to the spot. He didn’t even stop you as you ran away, just slid the nearest couple pieces of your contraption towards himself, grabbed them, and made his own flight out before the place blew.
Shielding himself from the heat and sound, he knelt and examined the scraps. Luck was on his side, it seemed; he’d gotten the chunk bearing manufacturer and serial number info. For the first time in his life, Wooyoung wasn’t going to just deflect and run- he was going to chase you down.
Jongho
It was cloudy. It was almost always cloudy. Not exactly ideal conditions for your lot, but what were you going to do? Couldn't exactly bottle sunshine, as they said.
Not that they weren't probably trying. Scientists had gone positively psycho in your city, the hottest trend being harnessing the elements. Success rate? You, at least. It wasn't supposed to be you. Maybe not anyone, for that matter, but the spores ended up in your body regardless. You'd heard that they were supposed to be used or they'd take over, but the call to do so was strong regardless.
Trees planted on the sidewalk suddenly bloomed and flourished. Green sprouted in odd hosts within the concrete jungle. Flowers out of sidewalks and the like. Anything to combat what the rest of humanity was doing, right?
That was all it had been until someone saw you. An older man, betrayingly grandfatherly, began a mild conversation that quickly deepened, progressed to him requesting your help in an investigation on the very place that exposed you to their research.
"Why me? I barely spent any time there. I wasn't the test subject, it was an accident!" Never had you realized you were afraid to return until it was asked of you. The infection was hell until it stuck, pain all over your body like you'd never known, violent reactions as your body writhed and tried again and again to reject the foreign invasion.
Then poof, there you were as the city's chlorophyll ninja.
"Because you have been inside. You've visited once, why not again? They'll never suspect a thing, and if they do, you're armed with something much greater than what I got."
"Oh," you raised a brow, "so this is personal?"
"It's beyond that," the main replied quickly, gaze darting from yours, "but yes. I'm getting older. This sort of mission is getting more difficult. But more than anything they would recognize me in a heartbeat, and I didn't exactly quit on good terms."
"I'm not in this fight. I didn't ask for any of this," you repeated, "and now you want me to go in there blind and alone? Maybe I don't want to be your recon pawn."
The old man waved a hand, the one that wasn't gloved. "You wouldn't be alone, poor dear. You think you're the only escaped lab rat? I used to think I was." Grabbing the hem of his pant leg, he pulled it up to reveal a very elaborate cybernetic prosthesis. "Both are different. But no, I've kept tabs on the place for a long time. Found another much like you."
With that, he motioned to the doorway with his free hand. Guess you could figure out why the other was covered. As your gaze traced the man's one organic limb, your eyes fell to the doorway, where a young man about your age stepped out.
His appearance was pretty innocuous. His hair was short and dark, his expression stony but his features kind. His broad shoulders were draped with a long coat that swayed near the base of his boots, and beneath that he wore a dark turtleneck and jeans.
"How do you do, Neo?" You quipped as your eyes scanned his form.
To your great surprise, that 'mission go' look on his face melted rapidly into a wide grin, a chuckle. Guy had a nice smile.
"It's Jongho. That was good, though." He nodded down toward you. "Was the green intentional?"
You yourself glanced down at your outfit, and you'd be darned. You were wearing green. Apparently this Jongho fellow knew more about you than you did of him. You were surprised he didn't comment on the potted plant necklace you'd gotten from Etsy- the one you'd nicknamed 'ammo'.
"No, but I guess fate has a sense of humor. Do you have beef with FTR Labs too?"
Jongho nodded. "They have my brother."
At that, your heart dropped. Just by the man's tone of voice you could tell he was trying to be brave, but he didn't want to go back to FTR any more than you did. Want, no. Need? Yes. Maybe the old man was right- maybe they were taking their experiments too far. You hadn't even seen what they'd done to Jongho yet. If it had been a fight for his body, too, let alone his brother's.
"Alright," you nodded, shoving your hands in your pockets, "I'll go with you. Do you have a plan?"
"Of course. My main goal is to disrupt their comms first."
"Classic. How do you propose we do that?"
"I figured a little lightning would do the trick."
"Excuse me?"
Wordlessly, Jongho stared at you, his eyes almost glazing over as gusts of wind rolled through the room and clouds drifted over his head, spattering his black-clad shoulders with tiny droplets of rain. Electricity arced between two of the clouds, light flashing like tiny, branched white roots as it traveled down his cheek, through his arm and into his hand as if illuminating his very veins. Harnessing the elements.
Nothing could have stopped your jaw from dropping, but as you righted yourself, you couldn't help smiling with a strange rush of anticipation. "Hey, if you're the one that's been keeping it so cloudy these days, can you at least rain a little on my friends?" And with that, you let ammo grow out, engulfing your upper body with the comforting hug of leafy vines.
"Kids," the old man shook his head, "always showing off."

Unrequited love?
Request: Could you possibly do one about unrequited love (or so they think) and the reader just spirals and starts getting in trouble and doing things like getting drunk and doing drugs, etc. I really want something that hits me in the feels, but has a happy ending. Requested by: @lelenikki
I hope I did it justice <3
Steve has been friends with you since childhood. The two of you were inseparable but the older you got the more complicated your relationship became.
Lately you’ve been having a really hard time hiding your true feelings for Steve and after thinking about what you should do about it you decide that it was probably best to just rip the Band-Aid off and tell him how you truly feel. Okay. You got this, what’s the worst that can happen? He says no, it ruins our friendship, he laughs...Okay maybe we shouldn’t say anything... The more you got in your head the more anxious you became. You take a deep breath before leaving to meet him at Family video, his shift should be over soon.
As you pull up to Family video you see Steve at the counter with his back towards the door as he talks to Robin. You walk in as softly as you can so you don’t pull his attention away from her. You start to walk towards the counter to return the movies you had rented earlier when you overhear him talking “I don’t know Rob, I think I’m in love her. Maybe that’s why none of these dates have been a success.” Your heart breaks. You’ve known Steve your whole life and he has only loved one person, Nancy Wheeler, and you know you can never live up to someone as amazing as Nancy. You decide that the late fee isn’t as bad as facing Steve right now so you turn around and rush back to your car. Robin looks over hearing the bell ring and she sees your figure leaving quickly, deep in her gut she knows you just overheard Steve and she’s ready to kill him for it. She shakes her head at him “You’re an idiot you dingus” and she walks to the breakroom to try and call you.
Since you were still driving home she got your messaging machine making her sigh before leaving a message asking if she can come over after work to hang out and she promises to bring your favorite take out. But instead of heading home you started to head to the trailer park to talk to Eddie.
Eddie started to become one of your closet friends and he was the only person you’ve told about your feelings towards Steve. You know he’s going to be upset seeing you devasted but you couldn’t be alone right now. You pull up and quickly get out, you start to knock on the door as you hear him yell for you to come in. He’s excited to see you until he sees the tears falling down your cheeks. “Sweetheart? What the hell happened” He rushes over to you and pulls you to his chest. You mumble against him and all he hears is Steve’s name but that’s all he needs to hear.
He slowly pulls away and he wipes your face free of the tears, “Steve’s an idiot for not seeing how amazing you are. You deserve better.” You nod softly before asking if you can spend the night with him. He smiles “Of course, but I do have a party I need to go sell at, why don’t you come with and enjoy yourself. I won’t be drinking or anything so you can let loose.” You agree but honestly if you knew how the night would turn out you wish you hadn’t.
It’s around nine o’clock when the party is really in full motion. You try to stick by Eddie’s side for the majority of the night but he didn’t want you involved with the sales so he would leave for about twenty minutes every other hour to take care of business. During one of the times you were left alone you went to go get yourself another drink. Walking to the kitchen you are trying to slip in between people to get to the drinks but it’s so crowded you keep getting pumped into. “Watch it” Some guy seethes as you almost knock his drink over. You mumble an apology as you finally get your own drink.
As you wait for Eddie to come back you realize you really need to pee. Being already a bit drunk you don’t even think about bringing your drink with you and you just sit it down before leaving to go to the bathroom. Eddie finishes up and he goes to meet you again but as he walks up to your spot he sees someone putting something in a cup. He assumes it’s empty and doesn’t do anything as he starts looking around for you. What he doesn’t know is that was your cup. And the person who put something in it was the guy you pumped into earlier.
You come back from the bathroom and you see Eddie back from the deal. You smile and walk up to him with a sway in your step. Eddie looks at you amused seeing that you are definitely at least tipsy already, when you get to him he places his hands on your shoulders to steady you “Okay sweetheart I think we need to take you home” You nod before grabbing your cup from the table “After this drink Ed’s” you mumble. You drink it quickly before Eddie can say anything and you throw the cup down before wrapping your arms around him “Okay...let’s go” He chuckles and helps you to the van.
He can tell something is wrong by just the way you’re sitting in the van. Your head keeps falling forward which isn’t a sign of you just being drunk and he starts to freak out. As he drives he is trying to get you to keep talking to him but he can tell by how your words slur more and more you’re getting worse. He rushes home and once he gets there he sees that Wayne is already there which makes him sigh in relief. He picks you up and carries you to the trailer before yelling out for Wayne’s help. As soon as Wayne walks in to the living room he can tell something is wrong, “Boy what happened?” Eddie explains what you guys were doing and Wayne loses color in his face, “We need to get her to a hospital”
Eddie and Wayne rushes you to the hospital and explains what is happening to the staff. They hurry you to a room and start to pump your stomach but they won’t let the Munson men follow, which leads to them pacing around the waiting room. The hospital went ahead and called your emergency contact, which happens to be Steve, making him rush to the hospital in a panic.
When he arrives he is greeted by Wayne trying to calm him down but as he sees Eddie all he can see is red. “How could you not watch her! She could be seriously in trouble and you were bust doing what? Selling drugs like the deadbeat you are?! God you were probably the one to do this to her” Eddie whimpers making Wayne clench his jaw “Harrington I know you’re worried but don’t you dare every say that shit again! Eddie took care of her, he made sure she got help, where were you at? If you’re so concerned for her why weren’t you there?” Steve is taken back and he goes to make an excuse but Wayne just puts his hand up and walks away.
Steve walks over to sit next to Eddie and he clenches his jaw trying to apologize “I didn’t mean anything I said. I know you care about her, I’m just freaked out” Eddie scoffs “How do you think I feel? I should’ve been watching closer” Steve goes to reassure Eddie that it really isn’t his fault but the doctor walks over before he can. Eddie stands up quickly “How is she?”
“She’s going to be okay. You brought her in just in time son, we got everything out of her system but it seems like her drink was spiked heavily at that party. If you know who did it I recommend calling the sheriff about it, that’s an extreme offense.” Eddie nods softly already planning on talking to Hopper as soon as you get out of here. The doctor tells them that they can go see you which makes both boys rush to your room.
You are just waking up as you see Eddie and Steve come into your room. You smile at Eddie but scoff at Steve, really not wanting to see him. Steve is taken back at your reaction towards seeing him but he tries to brush it off. “How are you feeling sweetheart?” Eddie asks softly. You shrug “I’m okay for the situation” he nods before pushing your hair back “I am so sorry sweetheart. I should have been there, I should-” you cut him off quickly “Ed’s it isn’t your fault at all. Don’t even try to blame yourself” He nods before looking back at Steve seeing him tearing up at the sight of you with iv’s in you and you being connected to machines. Eddie leans in and whispers to you “I think I’m going to tell Wayne how you’re doing. Go easy on him okay?” You scoff before nodding, which makes Eddie smile before he leans down and kisses your forehead.
Steve clenches his jaw and jealousy fills him as Eddie lips connect to your skin.
As Eddie leaves Steve walks closer to your hospital bed and he goes to hold your hand but as he touches your skin you jerk back as if his touch burns you. “There is something I need to tell you” Steve says as he pulls away from you. You grow nervous as you expect him to tell you that he is getting back with Nancy. You nod showing him that he can continue and he clears his throat trying to find the words.
“When I got that call...I thought I was going to lose you. And that made me realize I need to tell you the truth.” You grow even more nervous trying to figure out what he was going to say. He takes a deep breath before continuing, “You’re my best friend. But I don’t want to be friends anymore.” You whimper and tears fill your eye immediately, he see’s this and starts to freak out “No! Not like that, just...just let me finish.” You nod and he continues, “I want...god this is hard. I want to be more... I want to take you out, I want to hold you and kiss you, I want to spoil you and show you how much I love you” You gasps hearing this confession. “Are...Are you asking me out Stevie?” He nods softly as he stares anywhere but at you. “Steve. I would love to go out, but...but what about Nancy?” Steve looks at you confused “Nancy? What about her?” You scoff thinking that he’s such an idiot.
“I overheard you talk to Robin about how you’re in love with Nancy earlier today.” Steve furrowed his eyebrows. “What are you talking about? I wasn’t talking about her” You eyes widen, “Y-You weren’t” He laughs and shakes his head “No, I was talking about you! I’ve have had feelings for you since junior year” Your cheeks redden as you start to feel embarrassed “oh...” you mutter making him laugh. “So? Can I take you out after you’re released and start to feel better?” You smile, “I can’t wait”
I really hope you liked it! Thank you for the request, if you did like it please consider liking, commenting, and reblogging! It all means the world to me <3

Eddie's journey
Eddie is the 10 year old whose father told him he needed to be the man of the house. He's the teenager whose girlfriend got pregnant and who felt pressured to marry partly because of the Church. He's a Mexican-American man, and culturally/lapsed Catholic. He's the young man who enlisted to provide for his family, even though he never wanted to be like his father. He's the husband who thinks they could've done better, who feels guilt for his wife leaving. He's the man who proposed again but got asked for a divorce, and who feels he wasn't enough. He's the widower who didn't get to fix things with his wife, whom he still thinks of as 'the love of [his] life'. He's the man who thinks he needs to be in control, who doesn't want to appear weak, who 'doesn't panic'. He's the son who's recently been patching things up with his father. He's the father who's recently let his kid down and misses him terribly.
Non-exhaustive list of quotes pulled from the show, with links to videos when youtube allows (full 'playlist'), arranged by broad themes:
MASCULINITY
It's under control. Don't worry. S: Every time we talk about money, you tell me not to worry. Guess what, I worry. (2.15) / Bobby: I just wanna make sure you don't think you have to lose everything before you can allow yourself to feel anything. E: No, Christopher needs me to be in control. [...] I wasn't there when he was a baby. Stayed away too long, and it broke his mother. Shannon ran away, and I couldn't stop her. I couldn't bring her back home. (3.08) / S: We'll just sell the house and the cars and I'll go back to work. Maybe only part-time but - E: No, no. Christopher is the priority right now. You should stay home with him. [...] I'm trying to provide for this family. That's the reason I enlisted in the first place. S: I don't need a provider. I need a partner. (3.15) / I don't remember you being around much when I was his age. Ramón: I was working. E: So was I. / Frank: You're a man who spends all of his time managing other people's pain [...] but not a lot of time facing your own. Can't put all your feelings in a box, Eddie. You might think if you're strong enough that it'll hold. But at some point, that box is gonna blow open. E: And take me with it. F: You and anyone else around you. (5.13) / [R] spent his whole life driving across the state. Living everywhere but under his own roof with his own family. ... Oh, uh, why don't you tell them about the time you pulled your ten-year-old son aside and told him it was time to step up? Be the man of the house? [...] R: I was providing for the family. E: Providing? Providing what money? - Okay R: Exactly. I had to do what I had to do. E: A family needs more than money. (6.17)
RELIGION
Turns out, I'm a Manchurian Catholic. I've just got a reservoir of Catholic guilt just lying dormant, waiting to be activated [...] What, you think I should go to confession? You think a priest is going to make me feel better about all this? [...] Bobby: Lapsed Catholic, still a Catholic. [...] That was a lot of the reason why we got married. The Church. She got pregnant and I think we both felt pressured into it. But I never regretted it, and even when things got really bad, there was always a part of me that I loved being married to her. (7.05) / Bobby: Eddie, I was going through some things, and I found this [prayer book]. Made me think of you. Just hang onto it, It might come in handy.
SHANNON
He loves having you around.[...] We both do. [...] I want this. Want to have a nice day on the beach with my son and his mother. ... Bobby: Were you ready the first time? Eddie: No. I knew I loved her, but I didn't think I was ready to get married. [...] I guess the question is, can I be a good husband? ... I knew Christopher missed you, but I I don't think I realized just how much I did, too. [...] We could have done better, we could have tried, I want us to be a family again. (2.17) / I loved your mom and I miss her, probably always will. (3.04) / I'm angry at a dead person and at myself because I forgave her for everything, and and it wasn't enough. I wasn't enough. (3.08) / I just want what I had when I met Shannon. It just happened. It was magic. Hen: Oh, so you believe in magic. E: I believe in chemistry. ... Bobby: Eddie, I know how hard this is. One thing you can't do is compare what you had with what you think you're gonna have. You just have to be open to whatever comes. (6.17)
(7.09 deleted scene)
CHRISTOPHER
E: Christopher. Is this Mom? Hey. Is that who you've been dreaming about? (3.04) / I wish I could forget. People go away. Not just Mom. Abuelita, Carla, my friends. They leave and then I miss them. I don't want to miss anyone else. (4.08) / Ravi: You must be Eddie's wife? C: Not yet. (5.02) / They just end up leaving anyway. Buck: Uh, why would you say that? C: My mom did. B: Uh, Chris, your mom died. C: Before that. She left us. We loved her, and she left anyway. I can't remember her voice anymore. (7.01)
(5.03) (6.18)
Dad, do you think she can hear us when we talk to her? E: Absolutely. That's why we come here. C: I wish I could hear her talk back. E: Me, too, bud. Me, too. ...
I'm sorry. I was thinking maybe we could watch it together in El Paso next weekend. I know. Yeah, I know. I know, it's last-minute, but I miss you guys, and I know Christopher does, too. Exactly. Why wait? Well, there's no better time than now. (6.15) / Chris, he's excited to see everyone, he misses them. (5.17)
I tried to talk about it with him and he ignored me the whole drive back. R: That part, that part sounds like us. The old Díaz family cold shoulder. Your Abuela originated it, but as I recall, you perfected it. [...] You had to grow up a lot faster than you should have. But that doesn't mean you can keep Christopher a kid forever. (6.04)
It just pisses me off. I mean, here's a kid who actually wants his dad in his life, and he doesn't even bother to show up? I miss him so much, Cap. I'm trying to respect his wishes, but we zoom a couple times a week, barely says a word to me. ... Sometimes a son just needs his father. Hell, a father needs his son. I speak from experience. ... But you're missing out on watching him grow up, on who he's becoming. ... I'm a dad who doesn't live under the same roof as his son. And it's my fault. And I hate it. (8.04) / Christopher doesn't want anything to do with Halloween, turns out. [...] Not like I was gonna be able to do it with him anyway. I just wish I knew last year was his last. (8.05)
That's the path behind him, so I don't think it's outrageous to expect that his future storyline(s) at least in short and mid term will involve unpacking at least some of that as well as whatever moves/decisions made to actively heal his relationship with Christopher and get him back.
Also, this is why Christopher felt the need for some space; it's not out of nowhere, and he isn't throwing a tantrum.
Some interesting posts: Eddie Díaz's tragic timeline; 2.17 vs 8.05 comparison gifset; about Ryan Guzmán's references in interviews (x, x, x); about Eddie's background/potential SLs based on it (x, x).

how last twilight went in my head
It’s soon been a year since Last Twilight started airing and while it did some things right, it also did many things wrong. I’m not only talking about the ending and how it ruined the whole show for me, but also smaller things that I now see more as flaws. Or maybe not flaws per se; they’re rather things that could’ve been done better if some more thought was put into the story as a whole. (Which is ironic to say when I know how many hours they already spent writing the story.)
You see, I had a lot of expectations for this series. Many of us had, I guess, and it sucks that those expectations were not met. I also acknowledge that I’m partly at fault for my own disappointment; I’m obviously only one person and no person responsible for the series would be able to read my mind and make it 100% like I wanted it to be. But they gave me the pilot trailer, left me with it for over a year before the official trailer came out, and during that time I was holding that pilot like a precious trinket in my hands. I was turning it around and around under the light, watching and studying every glimmer and reflection with wonder. I thought I knew what they were trying to tell me. I thought I understood.
Then the series came out and it strayed far from what I’d imagined it would be. Once again, not completely their fault, and I was watching the show with an open mind – I wanted to like it, however it was. But the closer to the end we got, the more I noticed that I was starting to bend my mind backwards to explain some things for myself. I started making excuses for them. And then at some point, I realized I didn’t have to do that. They shouldn’t require me to do that just to have me like what they'd created.
So I eventually accepted that Last Twilight just wasn’t for me and that I was disappointed in it. Not only did the ending land far from where I wanted it to go, but so did other things. The flaws started bothering me more. I grew a little more bitter after each day spent thinking about this show. It had become something unrecognizable, and so I had to make it right. I had to paint the picture that will never be forgotten again.
These are my thoughts on what I thought the show would be like, how the characters would be, how the relationships would develop, and where the show would end. All of this is based on the pilot trailer and many details remain vague because of that; some thing I only came up with while writing all this. I don't have a full story in my head, only bits and pieces I thought would be part of it one day.
(Most of this rant is directed towards the lovely Monica @stormyoceans and Mimi @dimpledpran, as well as maybe Leo @idaokiwatine. Otherwise, I don’t know if anyone is interested in this, but this has been stuck in my head for too long and I needed to find some relief.)
(placing the rest of this under the cut bc it got super long)
Mork’s life – past and present
The pilot trailer introduces Mork (not Mhok btw, I refuse to change my mind about that) and his side of the story very briefly. That is expected from a 4 minutes long pilot trailer that’s main point is to rouse the viewers’ curiosity and only introduce the story as it was during the time of filming that pilot. Despite the briefness, we still get the essentials: Mork is harsh spoken, a bit crude, playful, aloof, and quite melancholic at times. We learn he works as a mechanic, is friends with Porjai (not named yet in the pilot), and most importantly, has a debt he has to pay off.
They left that debt out once the show came out, and its absence made me frown. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the change. I like the alternative story line with Rung and how her passing has left Mork deeply scarred. I love the symbolism of Rung’s car which Mork is unable to sell because as much as he is bitter about his sister’s decision to end her life, he cannot cut her and her memory out of his own life. It’s a good premise, yet the show doesn’t really explore it enough to make it stick, so I both love it and mourn it.
Anyway, when the pilot trailer introduced the debt plot to us, I got attached to that thought. That’s probably the most accurate way to put it, to talk about any of these thoughts I will introduce here. I am attached to my own delusions of this show. So let’s continue observing them:
Mentioning Mork's debt made me assume that it was a core element of Mork’s character and his motives in the story. It would be the starting point of his journey, and I was excitedly waiting for them to tell me more in the series. What kind of debt is it? How large? Where does it originate from? Who does Mork owe money to? How does that debt affect his life? How long has that debt affected his life?
And while I was waiting for the answers, I started coming up with answers of my own:
Mork is left with his family’s debt, not his own. He's an only child who carries his parents’ debt after their unfortunate passing (accidental or organized? Irrelevant for me during that time). That debt will stand in front of Mork’s future, holding him back. It’s like a weight he cannot get rid of even if he tries, its pressure stopping him from running forward. If I have to make comparisons, I thought Mork’s story would be a bit like Jack’s in Jack & Joker; he cannot start a new life before he’s settled his debt.
These thoughts were backed by Porjai who in the pilot tells Mork to pay off his debt; to think about his future again. Ths switch seemed important somehow. Porjai doesn’t want Mork to continue living like this, always owing money to someone and struggling to survive. Things need to change for him. He needs to find something else than work, avoiding his debtors, paying off his debt, fearing for himself, and not caring about his future. There needs to be another path he can take, a better road for him to walk upon.
And then, Mork meets Day.
How would that happen? I don’t have a clear answer to this but based on what was shown and said in the pilot trailer, I somehow assumed it would happen through Porjai (which it still kind of does, but it’s more accidental in the series). The pilot trailer introduces Porjai as the person who comes up with new things for Mork to do, jobs that would pay better. This made me assume that following her ideas would eventually lead Mork to Day.
As a side note, I find it really interesting what Porjai's ideas for a better job are. When talking about quick, easy money, her offer is “dining with rich clients”. Not something you’d expect her to offer to a mechanic like Mork, right? It's nothing like what she offers to Mork in the series now. Getting Mork a random gig as an AC repairman makes a little more sense than this, though this offer also makes Porjai a completely different character.
The offer really left me thinking, okay. Mork doesn't accept it, of course, and I understand why it’s not something Mork would do based on how we see him, but why does Porjai suggest something like it? What exactly is Porjai thinking Mork should work wth? What does “dining with rich clients” actually mean? Because for me, that sounds hell a lot like she is suggesting Mork become an escort/host (at a host club???), and so that was a thought I started linking to her.
Porjai is the one talking to rich clients every day. She works as an escort/hostess somewhere and they pay good money for it. She knows it’s an easy job once you get into it and Mork could pay off his debt that way, maybe, if he was able to take the pressure. But he wouldn't, and so they find something else.
But what exactly leads Mork to ring the doorbell at Day’s house? I don’t think Porjai would have a straight connection to Day, but she could know Night.
In the series we now know, they introduce Night as a bar owner. Maybe Porjai ends up visiting Night’s bar a lot because her clients like to go there? Maybe she knows this bar owner/bartender and sometimes they talk after she’s done with her clients. She and Night are casually acquainted, not too close but on good terms, comfortable.
And then, during one of these casual talks, Night lets it slip that his brother is going blind and looking for a caretaker. (Maybe he whines about how difficult Day is being about it. Porjai is a good listener, and it’s easy to talk to her, I guess. It must be rough for Night, trying to handle it all.)
Porjai answers that she knows just the man for the job. Night decides to give it a shot.
Cue Mork’s interview for a job he’s in no way qualified for, yet he goes anyway because like the pilot says, “he has no option”. It doesn’t sound too hard, taking care of someone. But things are made a bit more difficult by Day, and so the interview scene ensues as it does: Mork reads to Day again, and despite acting like an ass in front of this rich brat that could be his future boss, Mork gets the job. Suddenly, his life is turning around. He’s on his way to paying off his debt and becoming free.
Mork needs to start thinking about his future. It’s scary because he never had the chance for that before, never got the choice. His parents were gone and he was tied to his debt before he had the opportunity to really dream. So, what does he want to do? Where does he want to go?
Will he stay around or will he leave all of this behind?
Of course, I assumed that Mork’s plan would be to get enough money to pay off his debt and then quit his job as a caretaker, no strings attached. But Day turns out to be different. Day turns out to be someone who Mork wouldn’t mind staying for. Day is more than just the money Mork gets paid, and he needs to come into terms with that, with wanting something for himself.
Day's side: His family and Mork
It will probably sound funny when I say this but back when the pilot trailer was all I had, I never really gave much thought to why Day is going blind. I know they mention an accident happening, but I thought it was just that – an accident. Something in the past. Something irreversible. Something that cannot be taken back or “fixed”, and now Day just needs to learn how to live with his new reality and move on. (No cornea transplants... I never really saw this coming when the show started. Imagine my shock when they started talking about it.)
What surprised me about the show was also the time that has passed since Day’s accident and since his vision started getting worse, and before he and Mork meet. The pilot left me thinking that Day’s vision was like that ever since the accident; that it was down to 40% (20% in the series) until they later realize that it’s getting even worse. I thought Day was still fumbling to understand his condition, to figure out how to live like this. I thought he had only recovered and spent a short time visually impaired before Mork comes into the picture, and that all these things were as new to him as Mork who has never done this kind of job before. I thought that was going to be part of their dynamic; this sense of newness and slowly learning about things together. About solving problems, finding answers, and adapting.
But well, details. Let’s move on from that.
Day is mostly introduced to us through Mork’s eyes as he infiltrates Day’s world after accepting his job. We first see the insufferable rich brat, the guy who has it all but now has somewhat less. The guy who is still grieving what he lost with his vision, yet is fiercely trying to claim it all back. He fights for his right for independence by being a stubborn mule who refuses to accept any help. He’s obnoxious, and whiny, and demanding, and a bit snobbish. He is both determined to beat his disability and so close to crumbling under the weight of his own changed reality.
Mork challenges Day in all the ways Day needs in this moment. At least this aspect of their dynamic remains in the series too, this ability Mork has to keep Day from slipping further into despair. Mork is not afraid to act like a dick to Day who is more than delighted by his boldness. He doesn’t like people treating him like glass, so Mork’s harshness and playfulness is refreshing. It reminds Day of how things used to be; of how he used to be. He even starts accepting Mork’s help after Mork drills it into Day’s skull that it doesn’t make him any weaker. They build their relationship upon mutual understanding, but I'll return to all that a bit later.
Let’s focus on Night instead and how he fits into all of this. After the pilot trailer, I never imagined that Night would somehow be the reason for Day’s accident – I never even thought he would play such a huge part in Day’s story, though I did think he would play a part in it.
My first thought about Night was that he was going to act as their mother’s eyes and ears in the house. (I didn’t know what to expect from Night’s character back then, so I just thought there would be a reason for him to stay in the house all day.) He inserts himself into every MorkDay interaction, is present, watches, and studies them. Then he relays what he’s seen to their mother, letting her evaluate Mork’s fitness for the job and how his progress is. I thought this would be a more prevalent aspect of everything, this ever present sense of being watched and judged by an outsider.
This position would've also allowed Night to be the first one to notice when MorkDay’s relationship starts changing. It's difficult for them at first, and maybe Night decides to help Mork out a little. He cares for his brother, after all. He tells Mork privately why Day chose him as his caretaker. He sees something in Mork and decides to help him out. He takes upon the role we see Master Aon carrying in the series now, working as the bridge between Mork’s world of ignorance and Day’s world of newly found obstacles.
The closeness this springs between the two obviously isn’t part of their mother’s plan. Khun Mhon/Ramon wants Mork to be a caretaker, a professional Day could rely on. She pays Mork for that. The pilot version of feels very different from the her we see in the series, yet she is equally protective of her son.
This protectiveness causes her to be a meddler, and we witness her questioning what kind of relationship Mork is building with Day once it starts feeling like it's different from what she expected. She’s heard about it from Night (who already questions Mork’s feelings, asking him if he still cares for Day only out of pity) and that makes her doubt Mork. Already attached by this point, Mork is forced to lie and reassure her that he still knows “the boundaries of his responsibility”.
Because we as viewers are privy to Mork's inner feelings, we can recognize his lie, but Day cannot. Even Day’s “superpower” doesn’t help him at this point, and he is convinced that Mork sticks around for the money only. He hates the thought, hates to think Mork is somehow forced to care for him. That Mork cannot choose for himself because he's the victim of the circumstance. And Day feels pained, feels crushed. He cried to his mother, attached to his caretaker who has somehow become a friend. He does not want this man to leave, and on some level, maybe Day's mother understands. Maybe she is able to accept that her son needs Mork, and Mork is allowed to stay until he's completed his duty.
Day's mother never quite trusts Mork, though. She knows Mork isn't being quite honest about knowing his responsibility with Day, so she worries what might become of them. I think it gets more complicated if Mork’s debt interferes and places Day in danger. Mork cannot stay if his past is haunting him; he cannot stay if his presence is threatening Day's safety. Mork probably struggles with this aspect of his life too, and eventually Day is left with the choice to either accept or tell Mork to leave (and it wouldn't be a romance if we didn't already know his answer).
I think the question of safety and Mork's ability to do his job well and remain professional would explain Day's mother's apprehension towards him better than how they explain it in the series. I somehow do not feel for her in the show because her worry over Mork’s ability to “take care of Day” (outside of his job, as Day's partner) seems so belittling towards Day as a person. She assumes that Day needs someone to take care of him for the rest of his life as if he will never be independent again. Day never tells her otherwise which I find a little strange when Day otherwise remains so adamant about doing things on his own and mastering skills that allow him independence.
(Though now that I say that, I realize that in the show, they cut off him gaining any of these skills. They don't, for example, ever make Day use a cane or learn braille – skills that I assume would be essential for his independence. He relies on Mork a lot, and even after the time skip in the last episode, he rather asks for a "stranger" to guide him to the car than takes it upon himself to get there the way we all know he can.)
In the middle of all this, come the 180 days they give Day before he loses his vision completely. It changes everything. Of course, those 180 days are not the end for Day – he's not dying or anything. They just mean there’s more for him to do, more for him to process. He needs to reach acceptance and finally find peace with his blindness.
And all that he does with Mork, with his help and alongside him, which I will talk about next.
Mork and Day, quietly in love
I think what the show really nails is the development of the MorkDay relationship or at least the basics of it. Especially the first three or so episodes feel absolutely ecstatic as we witness how the mutual distaste between MorkDay turns to curiosity, turns to understanding, turns to hesitant trust, and then to friendship and eventually a crush. It’s all so beautiful – and yet.
It moves a little too fast, I’d say. That feeling I had ever since episode 2 should’ve probably been my first warning sign that I was not about to get the story I wanted, but I always worked with it. I understood they had only 12 episodes, that they had a lot of story to cover. Some sacrifices had to be made to get all they planned to fit in.
But. (Because there obviously is a but coming, a big but.) They never used that time they stole wisely. And in my mind, I wanted everything to happen slower, to feel lazier, stickier somehow. You know, I wanted there to be more struggling, more hardship, more setbacks. Things shouldn’t have felt so linear between Mork and Day; not only up after some small bumps in the beginning, without them sometimes moving backwards, too. They were supposed to take two steps forward and one step back, not just walk ahead like it was easy to trust a stranger like that.
(That back and forth could’ve also been the way to fit Mork’s trauma into the story; to force Mork to be vulnerable when he realizes that he has to give something in order to get something back. He learns a thing about Day, Day learns a thing about him. It's only fair.)
It would just make sense if things were not easy. They’ve both gone through a lot and it’s hard to open up about those things, especially to someone who is still basically a stranger. That made me think that it would take Mork and Day longer to even tolerate each other; Day does not want Mork to be his caretaker, doesn’t want him invading his space. Mork is there for the money, not to listen to Day’s bitching. They’d rather avoid each other than actually spend time together, both agreeing to this out of mutual benefit. Mork gets paid, and Day gets his mother off his back and is free to do how he sees fit. They’re stuck together but it's the lesser evil.
But that doesn't last forever, and eventually, their curiosity wins. Mork would probably give in first, would want to know more about Day after watching him. He’s the one with the ability to work his way under Day’s skin by annoying Day to opening up. Anger makes us quite honest at times. And when Day slams the doors shut at times, literally and figuratively, Mork remains unphased by the temper tantrums. We see parts of this in the series too, but I always thought it would take them longer to find it themselves to be civil with each other.
After the door is open though, things start pouring out of it. Vulnerability stops feeling as scary. We see the one palm distance scene happen which is still one of my favorites. It’s so beautiful in the pilot, the epitome of closing the gap between them, of stepping closer. Mork wants Day to see him, and Day's curiosity is aroused.
I was honestly kind of sad that the series gave that scene to us so early. I wasn’t expecting Day to let Mork so close so soon, though I should’ve seen it coming when they turned the flirting setting so high for Mork. I just thought that scene was going to be more than just Mork flirting with Day, about him showing interest. I thought it was about understanding, about wanting to know the other. About wanting yourself to be known.
I guess my version of Mork by nature is more hesitant to approach Day than he is in the series. He is still direct and unapologetic, won’t take any shit, won’t fear to annoy Day, yet he will be hesitant in other ways. He doesn’t like being vulnerable, doesn’t initially like being seen by Day, doesn't trust so easily. It takes him time to adjust into wanting all this and thinking about it as a good thing.
He also hesitates to touch, to grab, to hold; to get physical with someone who cannot see it coming. Mork might not know a kind touch, mostly used to the roughness and violence of others.
Day would be equally hesitant because it must feel strange to touch people so openly when you cannot se them, right? At least for me, I’d find it weird and uncomfortable to grab a stranger, to suddenly hold them, even if by the arm or shoulder. (Because how do you know it’s an arm or a shoulder you're touching when you cannot see? You cannot be sure. It could be anything.) This requires adjusting from them, accepting this physicality as part of their new relationship. Mork needs to allow himself to be grabbed. Day needs to be bold enough to do it and be comfortable with it.
They discuss boundaries, both for Day and for Mork. What are they comfortable with? Are they comfortable always or only sometimes? Are there times when they do not wish to be touched? Should they announce it when they plan on touching the other? What are the rules of their interactions?
They learn yet again, try to understand. These are the steps they take during their journey as they adjust to each other and their intertwining lives. They start lowering their walls and breaking the boundaries, allowing each other closer, closer, closer.
And suddenly, Mork is no longer just a caretaker. Suddenly, Day is not just someone Mork stays with out of money. More feelings appear, and once one of them – or both of them – recognize those feelings as romantic, things start going south.
I always assumed that August would play the biggest part in making both Mork and Day admit to their feelings (and he does! The series confirms this). He’s obviously introduced as the “love rival”, the one who makes Mork jealous. He will make Mork understand that these feelings he’s having for Day go beyond professional, beyond friendship. He wants to take care of Day in a completely different way, and that makes him come face to face with a choice: to tell Day or remain silent. To stay or to leave.
Because here’s the deal: Mork is Day’s employee which requires him to stay professional with Day. There is supposed to be a certain distance between them so that Day can trust Mork as his caretaker, as his aid, as his guide. Mork is supposed to not cross any lines for Day’s safety and comfort. Mork is not supposed to be having these thoughts and feelings about Day.
In the series, I assumed they would point this out; that they would bring out the moral question of are you allowed to look at your "boss" like that, with the eyes of a potential lover, when your professional relationship is as delicate and emotionally intimate as a relationship between a caretaker and the person they’re caring for? Are you allowed to cross that line, even on a thought’s level? Does that affect the trust between you two?
In retrospect, I find it a little weird how little Last Twilight brings up this issue. Back in the day I even saw someone mention it in a post (I cannot remember who or where) after pointing out how often and easily these positions of trust allow taking advantage of the other person. Not saying that Day wouldn’t be able to fight for himself or stand his own ground if Mork was, indeed, being a creep about it, but Day unfortunately cannot see it happening. If Mork had bad intentions, I think he would have many chances to take advantage of Day’s disability. Day’s in a vulnerable position that has nothing to do with his capability.
So, why not make the viewers think about it more? Why is Mork not realizing how much power he holds? Even after he becomes aware of his feelings in the series and starts thinking Day might feel the same, it’s Porjai who points out that they’re still employer and employee. Mork works for Day, and Day is supposed to be able to trust in his professionalism no matter what.
Of course, Mork is prepared to quit his job after their kiss in the series if Day doesn’t feel the same for him. He doesn’t want to make Day uncomfortable once he’s been made aware of Mork’s feelings. But my initial expectations based on the pilot were that this conflict of positions would play a bigger part. Night questions Mork's feelings first, Day's mother does it next. Mork decides to hide behind his lies. This made me think that we would succumb into a limbo of “will he or will he not?” as both Mork and Day struggle with handling their own (slightly forbidden) feelings.
It's just that they both wish to stay like this and they both fear that the other one will leave if they were to be honest about their feelings. It feels easier to put on the mask and pretend they’re still an employer and employee. Out of selfish reasons, they both need each other. On the other hand, they both see why the other would need this relationship to remain as it is.
If we assume that we embark on the 180 days journey with MorkDay once they're already aware of their feelings and are both remaining mum about it, I think their reasons to remain go like this:
Mork stays because he doesn't want to abandon Day now that he is facing all this so suddenly. It's a big shock to Day to realize that he will lose his sight completely, and he's formed this bond with Mork that Mork hates to rip away from him when he's already feeling vulnerable. It's Mork's priority to make Day feel safe and comfortable. It's Mork's wish to make Day happy, and so he wants to stand beside Day as he faces these last 180 however many days he might have. Mork helps Day to make the most of that time he has because what else is there for Mork to do? To return to his old job and struggle again? To be forever trapped in his debt? Because at least like this he is paying off his debt slowly and not feeling as trapped.
For Day, he might hate the thought that Mork stays because of his duty, but it's also that it helps Mork. The money he's getting obviously means a lot, is more than Mork ever thought he would have. Day has seen and heard about Mork's life before, how violent it all was/is, how much he struggles. He wants Mork to stay if it will help him. He wants Mork to stay because it helps Day. He likes being with Mork and Mork makes him happy, and all this change feels a little less scary. He thinks he's learning how to live again, with Mork.
This type of setting would’ve offered a delicious opportunity to explore the slowly blurring line between their professional relationship and what can be seen as something else, something more. It would’ve offered some very delicious gay yearning, and I think these moments could’ve been depicted through scenes like the fish tank scene or the fitting room scene. Of course, those scenes work as they are now, as indicators of budding feelings between Mork and Day. But those could’ve also been scenes that show their feelings to the viewer, make them obvious to any observer, yet remain hidden from the object of those feelings himself. The want to touch, to be closer; yet the fear to be too close, to get rejected, and eventually, to lose everything.
They have six months, dedicated only to each other. They have six months before some kind of end or a beginning or whatever they wish to think of it as. Six months. I would've loved the slow burn of it all, seeing those six months shape and morph and change them.
The ending
And what about when those six months come to an end? How would things look like to them? How would the whole story eventually end?
Honestly, I think the story in my head had a lot of similarities to what we get in the first 9 episodes of Last Twilight: Mork and Day meet, start developing a bond, find happiness and a new hope in each other, Day gets his final 180 days before he goes completely blind, and MorkDay decide to spend that time exploring together. Things are nice, simple.
Yet, I think they start that journey with very different ending goals in their minds. They have very different thoughts on how things will look like to them by the end of their six months, and while they spend time together and ponder on their hidden feelings, those thoughts only solidify. And this is what I think goes on in their heads and how it shapes the final ending of my own version of this story:
Mork comes to the realization that by the end of this journey, Day will no longer need a caretaker, need him. His duty is done and he is free to go. His debt will be paid (maybe he's counted he will have enough money by then), and he can plan his future however he wishes. Maybe this even means that it is his time to go and live the life he never got to have before. Why would he stay if Day no longer needs him? If other bonds (friendship, companionship) remain, they will be able to keep in touch through their phones, even if from a distance.
For Day, it's all very different. He might be very hesitant at first, not quite trusting his own feelings, not quite believing in himself. But after each day, after each moment spent with Mork, he grows a little surer. He knows what he wants. He knows what he wants from this future Mork has helped Day realize is still in front of him.
He wants Mork. He wants them to stay together.
So, during his last seeing moments, Day gathers his courage and kisses Mork. That is his last image, the last thing he wishes to do, the only image that is missing and the only image that will forever remain. Admitting to Mork that he likes him and accepting that he wants to be with Mork in the future are his ending and beginning. He is finally being honest about everything.
Day wants more, not just a caretaker. Mork is now free to accept or refuse.
Of course, by this point, we would all know that Mork will accept. He will be delighted to accept. What else is there when we can so clearly see the deep bond between them? How could they ever part when they mean so much to each other? They're the only two that have remained "blind" to the inevitable.
And so we get that yes, and another kiss. Followed by the happiest smiles they've ever shown us, maybe some tears even. Day holding Mork’s face between his hands and taking in the darkness, yet feeling happy in it. He has a future with Mork. He will build a future that has them both in it.
I don’t know if I would require much more story after that. Beyond hearing Mork’s answer to Day after finishing their journey together, I never asked for much else. It would be satisfying if done right, if it feels like both of them have found peace and purpose. They start off as troubled individuals and end up happy, content, together.
Maybe I would be a little greedy though, and accept a time skip which shows us glimpses of MorkDay’s life after. Day is doing something new with his life that makes him feel satisfied. Mork is finally living for himself.
I wanted there to be hints about what Mork might want to do throughout the story/journey, just like they gave hints in the series that Day would love to own a bookshop later. I never quite bought Mork’s cooking career in the series – I know they paint it so that Mork enjoys cooking, especially to others/those he loves, but it never fully felt like his own choice to become a chef. It feels more like something he has to do because at first, he enters the chef position for money. He loses his job as a caretaker and has to find something else to live on. It makes it once again feel less like his own choice and more like a survival instinct.
And so, we have come to the end of my string of thoughts. This is what I had in my head about Mork and Day, how I thought the story of Last Twilight would go. This is what the pilot left me with after giving me its impeccable vibes. Would this be a better series? For me, definitely. Others might disagree, but I did not write this for you anyway so, sorry.
Just… Last Twilight could’ve been so much, so different. And even a year later I still mourn the fact that it was not, that it will never be. Such wasted potential, but I’ll love it anyway. I’ll love the parts I've managed to salvage.
(Thank you for reading if you did read this whole thing! Feel free to discuss this idea with me if you want to or point out any things I might remember incorrectly/have forgotten. My inbox is open and so are my dms, I won't bite ^^)

I know a request of mine is still on the way but I thought hEY why not already give you the next one? I’m so sorry, the terry brainrot is doing this 😫
could we have more kk3 terry please? honestly when it comes to my requests, you can always make reader the innocent type. so maybe she randomly comes across the dojo and sees daniel train with terry. she‘s fascinated by terry’s skills and strength (and grows a crush on him) but doesn’t have the courage to go in. she‘d just pass by almost every day there to see if she can watch him train again. what she doesn’t realize tho is that terry‘s been aware of her presence since day 1 and is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to lure her in and of course also show her his true colors at some point
I’m super excited to write this one! I hope it doesn’t come across as too OOC for Terry, but I still think his actions fit with his character. Enjoy!

Payment Plan
---
They had moved your bus stop two blocks over, and an extra ten minutes away, a minor inconvenience that added up quickly into a more irritating problem when you used it to get to work six days a week.
Grumbling to yourself, you head up the more unfamiliar street, wanting to get to the bus stop a few minutes early just in case you had any trouble finding it. It was strange how you could live in one place for so long, but get so accustomed to your daily routes that anything beyond that felt new and interesting to you. There was a pottery and ceramics shop, what looked to be a bonsai shop opening soon, and…a place selling snakes? Strange, but then, this was L.A., and what else could a place called Cobra Kai possibly be selling?
Slowing your pace a bit – you had the time – you look in through one of the glass windows, wondering at what the store could be selling. To your surprise, there are no reptiles, no cages, just a largely empty room with training mats and mirrors. Taking a closer look at the sign on the door, you see that Cobra Kai is actually a karate dojo.
Sure enough, you see two people walk into the main training area of the dojo: a boy, probably close to finishing high school, in a white gi and nearly bouncing with enthusiasm, and a man that looked to be in his early thirties, in a half-open black gi, watching the boy with a stoic expression.
The man was probably the most handsome man you’d ever seen – he was definitely the most attractive you’d see outside of TV or the movies, and he looked like an action star himself. Tall, incredibly built, with long dark hair and bright blue eyes, you didn’t think that people could be this attractive…
A car horn sounds suddenly in the street behind you, causing you to jump. You turn away from the window, not wanting it to be obvious that you were watching, and check your watch. You had to leave now or you would miss your bus! Reluctantly, you walk down the street, though you sincerely doubt you’ll be able to focus on work today…
---
Hours later, and you’re on the bus ride home, tired and looking forward to getting home. Your boss hadn’t shared your plans of not focusing on work, and you’d been pushed to the limit with a last-minute double-shift. You hop off the bus at the new stop just as dusk is starting to fall. Bracing yourself for your now-slightly-longer walk home, you look down the street, and see that the lights at the Cobra Kai dojo are still on across the street.
…A glimpse of the man you’d seen earlier would be just the thing to brighten your day. And it’s not like you’d be hurting anyone; they’d never even notice. He may not even be there, you reason to yourself as you cross the street, trying not to move too excitedly.
You slow your pace as you approach the dojo window, taking a quick look around you and noticing only a couple of people nearby. Good, you wouldn’t be noticed snooping by anyone out here, at least. Peeking into the dojo, you see the same two men as this morning – had they been at it this whole time?! Karate seemed like a ton of work.
The boy is looking exhausted, sweaty, his hair matted to his forehead, but the man looks as stunning as he had this morning; not even a hair out of place. You suppose that makes sense; he’s clearly the teacher here – sensei, you think it was called – so of course the student would be actually doing the most karate.
The man stalks around the boy, staring him down intensely as they have a conversation. Everything about him seemed so strong, but at the same time so controlled, like he was constantly on edge of unleashing all the power he was capable of. You couldn’t take your eyes off of him – he seemed so passionate when teaching the boy, and his student seemed responsive, wanting to please.
You could relate to him in that regard, you think to yourself as you all but drool at the sight of the man through the window. You wonder what his voice sounds like, you wonder about everything…
The two have moved over to a crude training dummy made of wood and pipes. The boy kicks the dummy’s “legs” a few times, but doesn’t make much progress, even appearing to hurt his foot at one point. The man seems to reassure him over a pep-talk, before moving over the dummy itself and demolishing it – legs, chest and head – in three quick strikes. Your jaw falls open – you’re pretty sure that the boy’s does as well, having never seen anything remotely like it in your life.
Realizing that you’ve been staring too long, you force yourself away from the dojo, heading home. You can’t say that you sleep well this night, but that your dreams are well worth the lack of rest.
---
Over the next week, you find yourself looking through the dojo’s windows twice a day, everyday, trying to commit every glimpse of the handsome man to memory. You’re sure that this isn’t healthy behaviour, but you don’t know how you could go about introducing yourself at this point. “Hi, I’ve been watching you teach karate without you knowing for the past week and have fallen head over heels for you. Would you like to get a drink?” Yeah, right.
You’ve even tried to do things to get his attention, despite knowing that it’s a futile effort – he was always so focused when teaching or practicing himself. You had started dressing in the nicest clothes you could get away with wearing to work without drawing attention, and had gone to the library on your day off to pick up some books about karate, wanting to secretly share this interest with him.
Clutching the book to your chest, you start to walk back home, looking forward to walking past the dojo as always. Looking into the window, pretending that you’re checking your reflection so that no passersby get suspicious, you gaze into the dojo, only to find that it’s empty, leaving you with an overwhelming feeling of disappointment.
“You know, you’ll never really learn karate from a book.”
Spinning around at the sudden voice from behind you, you come face-to-face with the subject of your infatuation, looking down at you with a friendly smile.
You’ve forgotten how to breathe.
“I…um…what?” you stammer, feeling yourself already blushing deeply. He was somehow even more attractive up close. This was the first time you’d seen him wearing something other than his gi, and he looks a bit less imposing in jeans and a grey sweatshirt, his hair in the same ponytail as always.
“I noticed your book,” he repeats calmly, stepping beside you to unlock the door to the dojo. “You can’t learn something like karate from a book; you need hands-on experience.”
“Oh, umm, I’m sure you’re right. This is just a newer interest that I’ve recently developed, so I wasn’t sure where to start…” you ramble, trying to not make a fool of yourself.
“Come inside, and I’ll teach you the basics!” he invites, giving you a smile that has you momentarily dazed. Eventually your mind registers what he’s said, and you rush to excuse yourself from accepting his request.
“Oh, I couldn’t! I’m sure you’ll be teaching today –”
“Nope, only one student at the moment, and he’s taken the day off.”
“Well, then I guess you’ll be practicing yourself, right?” You had watched him, one day last week, practicing punches and kicks, seeming to dance across the training mats in a blur of masculine grace. You’d love to see that again…
“There’s still plenty of time in the day for me to train, but no time like the present to train you!” he insists, his lips quirked as he holds the door open for you. “I won’t take no for an answer! C’mon, first lesson is free!” he jokes, and you can’t help but crack a shy smile – he was something of a drug to you.
You hesitate, and he takes the opportunity to snatch the book from your grip and slips into the dojo, giving you a mischievous look before the door closes.
“Hey!” you cry out, your heart thudding like mad. He’d come so close to touching you, and you steel yourself to go after… your book, you try to convince yourself. Certainly not the man who had taken it. Right.
Taking a deep breath, you open the door to the dojo and step inside, trying not to be too nervous. The man seems to have vanished, and you crane your neck as you look around for him. He was a very big person, there were only so many places for him to hide.
“Hello?” you call out, trying your best to make your voice loud and clear. “Can I have my book back, please?”
“Not yeeeet!” he bursts out in a singsong voice, emerging out of a room in the back, having changed into his gi. So he had been naked in here while you had been in here… your blush deepens.
“C’mon… oh, I’m sorry, I don’t even know your name!”
“It’s Y/N,” you say, shyly extending a hand to him, telling yourself you just wanted to be polite.
“Y/N,” he repeats, and wow do you love the sound of him saying your name. “I’m Terry, Terry Silver,” he says, shaking your hand, and you try not to smile, feeling overwhelmingly giddy at the fact that he’s touching you. “I’ll be your sensei for the day,” he bows down towards you, winking.
“Unfortunately, sensei,” you say, giggling at your use of the title, “I seem to have forgotten my gi, so if I could just get my book back…”
“I have spare gis in the back; I’m sure one is your size. C’mon, I’ll show you!” He wraps a friendly arm around your shoulders without another word, guiding you through the dojo to a spare room full of karate equipment that you know nothing about, and a collection of gis. He grabs a top about your size, holding it out to you.
“Put this on just for now, on top of your clothes, and I’ll show you how to tie it properly.” You swallow thickly, nodding mutely as you put your arms through the sleeves. He tells you how to tie it, the right side first, then the left, securing the top to you with two knots, and emphasizes tying the belt, called an obi, so that it rests on your hip bones, showing you how to tie it by demonstrating with his own.
You spend most of the demonstration remembering to breathe, and trying not to tremble at his proximity, at the fact that he was helping you dress yourself, and then Terry leaves you alone in the room to change. The instant the door closes, you fall back on top of a stack of training mats, needing a moment to collect yourself.
You were alone in a private place with the man you’d been drooling over for days now. You dreamed about this moment, never thinking that you would actually be in this situation, but here you are, and now you needed to handle yourself like the grown woman you were.
He’s just going to teach me some simple karate moves, that’s all, you repeat to yourself in your head, like a mantra, as you get changed, your body on autopilot. Doing some (completely inaccurate) punches and kicks to make sure that your gi stays in place, you force yourself to walk out the door.
Entering the main training area once more, you take off your shoes and socks, having noticed that that seemed to be the rule from your observations over the past few days. Looking around, you see that Terry has done some brief tidying, moving training dummies into the corner and closing the blinds.
“You closed the blinds?” you ask, frowning at him curiously.
“I got the sense that you were a bit nervous, and thought that maybe it would make you feel less self-conscious. I can open them up again, if you’d prefer,” he offers, but you shake your head, oddly touched that he’d recognized your discomfort and done something to alleviate it.
“No, that’s fine, you were right,” you say, smiling, and he nods.
“Yeah, I figured you wouldn’t want some creep staring in at you!”
You freeze, panicking, thinking that he caught you in the act, but he mistakes your fear for something else, trying to calm you down quickly.
“Hey hey, I was just kidding!” he exclaims, giving you a reassuring smile, and you let out a breathless laugh, smiling thinly. Phew…
“Alright, let’s get started!” he says, clapping his hands together once loudly, and you brace yourself, hoping that this goes well.
---
He puts you through the paces for a couple of hours, walking you through several kata and showing you how to correct your movements. You were a bit breathless and sweaty by the end, but you hadn’t actually had to hit anything, and he hadn’t touched you – for which you were both disappointed and extremely grateful – the entire time.
“Not bad, Y/N, not bad at all!” he says, smiling at you in a way that has you feeling funny all over. You smile back at him, feeling somehow more comfortable and more on edge around the man after this short time together. It’s like the more he drew you in with his presence, the harder you had to fight to keep away. “You think you’ll come back for another lesson?”
“Well, I think that would depend on your rates,” you tease, unsure where this part of you came from.
“Ah yes, there is the subject of payment for today…” he says, his voice taking on a different tone and his eyes shining at you with an odd light. You cock your head at him.
“What happened to “the first one’s free,” then?” you quote, confused. Sure, you made decent money at your job; you could pay him, but he had told you that this would be free, and was holding your library book hostage until you agreed to let him teach you!
Terry smiles at you, a dark, predatory grin that makes your heart pound.
“Unfortunately, Y/N, we both know that you used up your free lesson a week ago.”
Your mouth goes dry at the implication.
“W-what?” you stammer, trembling now as he comes to circle around you slowly, intensely, just like you’d seen him do with that boy the first time you’d seen them training.
“Do you think I didn’t see you, watching us through the window? You should be more careful, spying on people like that; people could start to get the wrong idea,” he croons in your ear, and you take in a sharp, stuttering breath.
“You’ve had over a week’s worth of free lessons,” he continues, toying with the end of your ponytail. Your eyes flutter closed. “How should we go about making sure you pay for them?”
There’s no way this was happening.
“I…Terry –”
“That’s Sensei to you,” he purrs, giving your ponytail a tug. You let out a quiet whimper.
“Sensei, I’m sorry, I can go get money and pay you right now, just let me go get change –”
“That’s the dojo’s gi; I guess you owe me for that, too,” he murmurs contemplatively, considering you. “In fact, take it off.”
You feel your heart stop, you feel like swooning.
Terry doesn’t appreciate your failure to obey him immediately.
“Take. It. Off.” he growls, closing the distance between you with every word, “Now.”
“What?!” You’re flabbergasted, you’re horrified, you’re turned on like you’ve never been before. You had to be dreaming right now, right?
He steps into your personal space, and you step back, this dance repeating until he’s got you pressed up against the wall right beside the window you’d first spotted him through, caging you in with his arms.
No, you weren’t dreaming, you think to yourself as you tilt your head up to look at him. You didn’t have nearly this good of an imagination.
“Don’t be coy,” he says, smirking down at you. “You’ve been ogling me for days now. I know you want me, you know you want me, and I want you. What’s stopping you?”
“You want me!?” you squeak, shocked. Did that mean he had been watching you too?
“Very, very much,” he purrs, taking in a deep breath and smelling your hair in a move that makes you shudder.
“But I – I’m not – I haven’t,” you try to get the words out. You weren’t a virgin, having had a couple of awkward, fumbling encounters with a boyfriend in the past years back that had left you unsatisfied and disinterested in sex, until now, until this… surely he would want someone who knew what they were doing!
“Fuck, you’re a virgin?” he asks softly, the expletive making something in your belly clench. He certainly doesn’t seem upset by the notion, you think, as one of his large hands comes down to grip your hip tightly.
“No, but it’s been years and it’s never been good,” you admit, and you think you hear him snort a laugh in response. “I don’t know what to do…”
“Good thing you’re with a great teacher then.”
In an instant, his lips are on yours, kissing you with a passion that has your head spinning, his hands moving to your belt to untie it, while you reach up to clutch his shoulders, desperately trying to keep up. This one kiss already has you more aroused than you’ve ever been with anyone else, and it’s like it has awakened something in you, something primal and erotic and wanting. Moaning into the kiss, you trail your hands down his broad chest to his own belt, trying to take it off.
Naturally, he is successful first, pulling the belt off and tossing it to the side, untying one knot of your top and then the other, leaving the garment hanging open on you and revealing your lacy bra. Yeah, you’d worn it as a sort of dirty secret for yourself, hoping you’d see him today, but you never thought he’d know about it…
He takes in your half-bared torso with a hungry expression, and you swear he licks his lips before reaching down to his own belt, swatting your hands away in a move that has you blushing as he undresses himself, tossing his own top to the ground and leaving his chest bare. Your mouth drops open, and you’re sure your eyes are as wide as saucers as you drink him in with your eyes. Ancient statues weren’t as well-sculpted as this man.
“Are you even real?” you find yourself whispering, and he quirks his lips in a smile, reaching a hand out towards you.
“Come find out for yourself, doll,” he says, tugging you forward the instant you put your hand in his and laying your hand in the middle of his chest.
There’s something so intimate about the contact, and you melt into him, finding yourself kissing his chest, his neck, anywhere you can reach as you run your hands all over his body. He leans down to capture your lips once more, and you’re feeling so hot, so good, that you’re not self-conscious at all when he pushes the gi top off of your shoulders; you’re just grateful.
His hands come around your waist, lifting you up easily, and you wrap your limbs around him tightly, holding on to him desperately. He gives you a growl of approval, pinning you back against the wall just with his hips. He busies himself with taking your hair out of its ponytail, laying hot, open-mouthed kisses up and down your neck as he does so, making you squirm against him.
Finish raking his fingers through your hair, Terry’s hands move down to your chest, teasing you over your bra, his lips staying at your neck all the while. On a wild instinct, to keep yourself from mewling out loud at the sensations he’s making you feel, you bite down on the muscle of his shoulder. He tenses briefly, but then, without missing a beat, returns the gesture, biting you in a way that sends jolts of pleasure to your nipples and clit, making you moan needily.
“You don’t seem like you need much instruction, Y/N,” he teases, whispering in your ear before tracing the outer shell with his tongue. “No, you’re very good at this…”
“Terry, please!” you beg, panting against him. How could you feel so close already when you were both still half-dressed?!
“What’s that, baby?” he asks innocently, lowering you back to the ground. You stay leaning against the wall, not trusting your knees at the moment. “What do you want?” He toys with the waistband of his pants as he says this, fingertips disappearing just beneath the fabric, and you whine with need.
“You, Terry! I want you, please!”
Part of you can hardly believe that you’re doing this, having sex with someone you’d just met, but then, this man wasn’t just any man, was he? He was sex personified in every sense of the word, and he wanted you. Who were you to deny either of you what you wanted?
“What do you want, Y/N?” he coos, his voice mocking in a way that’s hot as hell rather than being condescending. “I wanna hear you say it. Look me in the eye, and say it.”
You do your best to lock your eyes with his, knowing that you’re blushing horribly and must look a mess. “I want you inside me, please!”
He grins wolfishly down at you before tugging you into his arms and carrying you over to a stack of unused training mats, depositing you onto them. Standing beside you, your prone form isn’t quite level with his hips, but you have a clear view of the large bulge in the pants of his gi.
Terry looks down at you, blue eyes glittering as he takes in your flushed appearance, and in one quick motion, tears your pants down your legs, leaving you in just your bra and underwear. Despite your lack of clothing, this move has you feeling hot all over, making you squirm on the training mats before him.
“Soon baby,” he promises you in a sultry voice, still with that mocking edge. “We’ve got to work out way up to that,” he says, leaning over you and laving one of your breasts over your bra with his tongue. Desperately, you arch your back, reaching behind you to unhook your bra and tear it off your arms, your fingers immediately moving to his scalp to keep his head where it is.
He laughs around your breast at your antics, and you feel vibrations course throughout your body before he focuses his attention on your nipple, swirling his tongue around the bud and making you cry out his name. He teases you like this for some time, switching back and forth between your breasts, eventually reaching a hand between your legs and teasing your clit with a finger through your drenched panties, until you think he’s going to drive you over the edge. You’re a moaning, panting mess, banging your head on the mats and responding to his every touch, and Terry looks like he’s having the time of his life tormenting you.
“Terry, please, I can’t take it anymore! What do you want? I’ll do anything!” you wail, fully meaning it in this moment. He grins down at you, obviously pleased that you’ve essentially written him a blank cheque for sexual favours. You truly couldn’t care less at this point; you wanted this man, you needed this man, right here and right now, and you’d make a deal with the Devil at this point if it meant he would take you.
“Say you’ll come back here tomorrow!” he requests, and you’d be more taken aback at this if you weren’t currently completely losing your mind with pleasure and desire.
“Yes, I’ll come back tomorrow! I’ll come back whenever you want, just please!” you beg shamelessly, grinding your hips up against his hand, desperate for friction on your clit, for release, for whatever you can get out of this man. He hooks a finger under the fabric of your underwear, brushing against your soaking wet slit for just a moment before tugging them off you, leaving you naked.
Your breath is coming fast now, knowing that he’s finally going to give you what you need, but your breath stops altogether when he takes his cock out of his pants. God, he was big, and God, you need to have him inside you filled every fibre of your being.
He pumps his cock a few times in his fist, and you whimper at the sight, before he moves to stand between your legs, spreading them to either side of his body. He grips your hips in his large hands, seeming to take a moment to savour the sight you make before him, flushed, breathless, desperate for him.
Finally, after what feels like forever, he lines himself up with your entrance, teasing you with the head of his cock. Right before you open your mouth to scream in frustration, he obliges you, thrusting inside you slowly, gradually, not pumping his hips but surging forward until he is fully sheathed within you.
You are breathless, you’re so full, and it feels absolutely incredible, your eyes rolling into the back of your head as he bottoms out.
“Oh fuck, Y/N, you’re so tight,” he groans, his grip on your hips likely to leave bruises as he stills within you. You try to buck your hips to make him move within you, but you can’t; he’s too big inside you, and he’s got you pinned down.
“Please Terry, stretch me out. I can take it,” you moan wantonly, trying to convey to him with every part of you how badly you need him to move at this moment. His eyes pin you in place with their intensity for a moment as he surveys you.
“God damn, I love the way you talk dirty,” he growls, finally starting to pull out of you before thrusting fully inside you again, setting up a slow but deep pace that has your toes curling. “Keep going.”
“You feel so good inside me, please don’t stop!” You’re not even thinking, obscene thoughts flowing from your lips as you take his cock again and again, never wanting this to end. “Please Terry, fuck me faster!” you plead with him, and he looks down at you again with that teasing look, maintaining his current pace.
“Now now, be careful what you ask for, doll. Too much too fast will leave you sore,” he explains, but you get the sense he’s more in agreement with your desires than he’s letting on.
“I don’t care, I need it! Fuck, I need you, Terry! Please don’t hold back,” you beg, arching against him desperately. This seems to be what he wanted to hear, and already you feel his pace start to quicken.
“I’ve got you, baby girl. I’ll give you what you need,” he promises, pounding into you hard and fast, your legs pressed against his front, your feet on either side of his head. “You need a good hard fucking, don’t you Y/N?”
“YES!” you scream, feeling your orgasm rapidly approaching, nearly faint from the stimulation. “I need it, I need you, please!”
He reaches down to rub your clit in circles, and that, combined with the way he’s pounding you, has you shrieking as you come hard around his cock. He doesn’t slow his pace, and he doesn’t move his thumb away from your clit, working you through the first orgasm until you an incoherent mess.
“Terry!” you cry out, your voice getting high-pitched as the overstimulation drives you wild.
“What do you want, baby? Tell me,” he orders, his own breath coming fast as he approaches his own release.
“Come for me, please!” you wail, barely able to string two words together. “I want you to finish inside me! Fill me up, Terry, please!” The thought had always repulsed you before, but when it came to Terry you wanted every bit of him you could get.
He grips your thighs, holding you still as he slams into you, coming hard with a growl of your name as he fills you with his cum. You’re both spent, and he only has the energy to pull you off the stack of mats and onto the mats on the floor with him, the pile not being large enough for the both of you. You snuggle into his side, feeling immensely satisfied and absolutely filthy with what you’d just done. His arms tighten around you, and you think you could happily die in this moment. Nothing could possibly be better than this…
Tilting your head to look up at his face, you decide to as a question likely inappropriate for your current position.
“Hey Terry?”
“Yes, doll?”
“Can I have my book back?”
“You’ll get it back tomorrow.”

Kite Flying with the Volturi masters
Kite Flying with the Volturi Masters
You love the weather in Volterra, but not the wind. Today, however, is breezy, just enough for another old past time of yours. Kite flying.
You go find Aro, who is sitting on his throne, doing absolutely nothing. His red eyes remain unfocused, that is, until he notices your arrival.
"My dear, it's good to see you. Please..." He holds out his hand to you, not to read you, but to draw you closer. He pulls you onto his lap, kissing your cheek. "What can I do for you today?"
"Well," you begin, "if you, Marcus and Caius aren't doing anything, and it looks like you're not, how would you like to spend some time outside, away from the city, that is. There's that large field a few miles away. It's perfectly breezy out."
"I thought you hated wind," he said.
"I do, but this is a breeze. I thought we might go kite flying." You look at him with an expectant expression.
The ancient Volturi master sometimes finds your ideas silly, but he does enjoy experiencing bits and pieces of your human life. "We have no kites," he says, assuming you would know that.
"Felix can go into the village. There's a small toy store there. He knows the place," you suggest.
"And how would Felix know about stores that sell toys?" Aro raises his brow at you.
You bite your lower lip. "I sent him there once?"
Aro smiles at you, his raised brow unchanged.
"Ok, three times." How does this master of vampires so easily make you admit the truth about anything, and without torture?
"Of course, our Felix would do anything for you. Very well, go ask him to get four kites. I will speak with Marcus and Caius. We will meet you here at say, 2:00pm?"
You hug your protector, grinning. "Thank you, Aro. Maybe we can run instead of taking a car?"
"You just want Marcus to carry you."
You blush. "I love having Marcus carry me. Look, Aro, you put us together, so no grousing when we find we like being together." You hop off the master's lap and say, "See you later, Aro." You go find Felix to ask him to visit the village toy store to buy the kites.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Later, Felix returns with four kites, hoping they prove suitable for you.
"Thank you, my friend. These are perfect."
You take the kites to the throne room to see all three masters waiting for you.
Marcus moves to your side and kisses you. "What is this new hobby you have, my love?"
Just being with your new mate has you wanting to participate in another hobby recently acquired. But you do still want to go outside to enjoy the fresh air away from the city. Later, you tell yourself.
"Who wants to take the kites? Marcus will be taking me."
Caius rolls his eyes but he picks up the package holding the kites, heading outside through the back gate.
Marcus smiles at you and picks you up in his arms, asking if you're comfortable. "Keep your face close to me and close your eyes, little human."
You nod and wind your arms around his neck, while burying your face in his chest, eyes closed. He takes off, moving so fast it forces you to tighten your hold on him.
Aro runs fast enough to easily catch up to you. It's not long before he arrives at the field you mentioned, Caius and you with Marcus close behind. Marcus kisses you before putting you down, holding onto you when you sway a bit unsteadily.
Caius puts the kites on the ground, and looking them over, chooses the kite that is shaped like a black bat. You wonder why you're surprised. "You do realize how cliché that is."
"You're just jealous you didn't get to choose it first, little human. The bat may seem a bit cliché for our kind, who do not turn into bats by the way, but they are fascinating creatures all the same."
You help the masters put together their kites, the breeze picking up a little bit. This should be great for high flying.
"What is the purpose of this again?" Aro asks.
"Haven't you ever heard of Benjamin Franklin?"
"He was an American also."
"Yes, Aro, but the important thing was his experiment using a kite and a key to see if there was a correlation between lightning and electricity. You're supposed to be among the most intelligent people on the planet, or so you implied."
Aro takes that as a challenge. "Yes, my dear. So kites do not have to be just toys."
You press up against him and kiss his cool cheek. "Now you've got it, Aro!"
"What do I do?" he questions you, feeling a bit resigned to your enthusiasm.
"Tie the string to your wrist. That way if you lose the string, the kite won't fly away." You show them by letting go of your string and how the end is tied to your wrist, securing the kite safely. "As the wind catches the kite, let the spindle string out so the kite will be able to fly upward.
You watch as all four kites slowly but surely make their way up into the sky. Then you notice the smaller black kite heading for yours, bumping into it several times.
"Caius, your kite is not a weapon. Stop attacking my kite!" The bat kite circled your rainbow striped kite, as if it were stalking it.
"I am not trying to attack your pathetic kite," he tells you, smirking and using the breeze to send his kite into yours once more.
"Ha! You're a leader of armies, a strategist of wartime fighting. It's all you know. Attack and destroy," you accuse him playfully.
Caius let his kite drift away from yours, and moved to your side. His red eyes bore into your human orbs, his concentration only on you. You felt yourself leaning toward Caius and not on your own accord. He still hadn't blinked. His hand reached up to touch your chin. "It's not all I know."
"Marcus! Caius is trying to seduce me again!" You saw your mate flash between you and the blonde vampire master. You clung to his shirt while you stood behind him.
"Brother, it was one thing when we were unattached to one another. Tease her no more in this fashion." His eyes had turned a shade darker when he stared down Caius.
Caius stepped back, his hands up. "It was just that, teasing, brother. She likes it." He looked behind Marcus to meet your eyes with his. "Isn't that so, little human."
You glare at him, then shake your head. "My soon-to-be-brother, unless you'd like to go around headless, listen to my mate."
"Oh look, my kite is falling to Earth. I'd better work on it. If you'll excuse me." Caius returned to using the breeze to his advantage.
Meanwhile, Aro was smiling to himself. He was happy to see Marcus finally accept Didyme's death and absence by taking you as his mate. Soon he would change you, then you would officially be a member of the Volturi.
"Uhem...wake up, Aro! You're entangling your string with Marcus' string."
"It will go no higher, my dear."
You see the breeze is starting to die, and the kites are beginning to fall to Earth. "I suppose we will have to call it a day. With no wind, there is no lift." You help the others reel in their kites, thinking if they're kept nice, the guards may want to play with them.
Once everything is packed up, Caius takes the package again and heads for the city and castle, followed by Aro.
Marcus takes you in his arms, and you burrow into his chest, wishing you could hear the beating of his heart. He may not have an active heart any longer, but he loves you, this you know with certainty. One day, your heart will stop beating, yet you know it will still feel only love for this ancient vampire.
Marcus looks down at you, and smiles. "To our chambers?" he asks hopefully.
You cup his cheek and kiss him deeply in response. "Please."
He then flashes back to Volterra proper.
The hours were fun for you, and you wonder what else you can share with the masters. They're so hard to keep entertained.
