There's a version of the "don't go grocery shopping while hungry" rule specifically for writers where you should never under any circumstances be allowed to touch your draft within 3 hours of reading a really good story. Because sometimes when you read something great your head goes "fuck this is so much better than my stuff I should make that more like THIS instead!" Look at me. That's the devil talking and you should close the document NOW.

“The biggest fear the World Economic Forum has - is that you won’t Comply”
I did NOT comply the last time and I have no intentions of complying with anything they want the "Chattel" to do. Don't follow the herd, you're going to have to break off from the pack and take the road less traveled. 🤔

I know I've talked a lot about Alhaitham actually being one of the funniest characters in Genshin Impact, but every time I think about him, I find something new to laugh at.
Alhaitham's character stories and personal criticisms of Kaveh largely hinge on one specific point: That Kaveh's genius intellect and artistic abilities are incongruous with his idealism. Kaveh possesses more talent than a selfless person should reasonably have, leaving him vulnerable to constantly being taken advantage of.
However, Alhaitham states these complaints about Kaveh's personality while having the exact same problem himself.
Tumblr media
Alhaitham is literally the definition of "personality and talents do not match." Sir, you are the pot calling the kettle black.
It's a given: Alhaitham is exceedingly competent. He is intelligent, rational, and capable of being impartial when needed. Despite being a slacker as the Akademiya's scribe, during his stint as the Acting Grand Sage, the game goes out of its way to note--in several places--that Alhaitham was actually going above and beyond what was expected of him, taking the position very seriously, uncovering and fixing major issues in the Akademiya, and demonstrating a deep care for the sanctity and future of the Akademiya as a whole when Sumeru's people's will to research and learn declined after the collapse of the Akasha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By all accounts, Alhaitham is (was) a fantastic Grand Sage. Compared to Azar, who is shown as inherently self-aggrandizing and unconcerned with Sumeru's well-being, Alhaitham genuinely did his best during his brief time as Sumeru's leader, protecting students' research, concerning himself with how to address the people's problems, and even diving in to solve mysteries that normally would have been left for the matra. As Acting Grand Sage, we're told his behavior and judgments were fair, and he addressed problems immediately and with his full effort.
In short, there is literally no one else more qualified to be Grand Sage than Alhaitham.
And yet, despite possessing every talent needed to be the leader of a nation, Alhaitham doesn't have the personality for it. He has every single trait a good leader requires... And yet he refuses to be a leader. His own talent vastly exceeds the slow-paced life his personality leads him to seek, making his particular abilities more incongruous with his values than Kaveh's--by a mile. People keep trying to promote him into positions of leadership because his talents are so obvious, and yet he does everything in his power to deny his own abilities and instead fly under the radar--and under the level of his full potential too.
Awful hypocritical for you to claim Kaveh's talents don't match his personality when yours match even less, Alhaitham...

i don't like it when someone is easy to reach. when someone is open to everyone, when literally anyone can get their attention. it is a question of values and principles not to be open to everyone and not to have the need for everyone's attention. people who are easily available won't value soulful connections.

There have been several things in my everyday life that i have just, "decided to not let bother me". And that seemed to work really well for me. Like, well if i can't seem to change that then i guess i'll just accept the fact that i'm a person whose life is like that, and be at peace with it.
years later i'm finding out that while i thought i was not letting it bother me, what i was actually doing was ignoring that it was bothering me the whole time. And, wow, are those two things different.

Im gonna need everyone to hear me on this because some people are being annoying af with some Hansry shit
You can hc hansry running away, you can hc the wedding getting cancelled or whatever. It isn’t that serious. (Yes there is a specific post I’m referencing i will not name anyone i don’t want hate on them because i generally like a lot of their posts but this one and the one they reblogged were just typical fandom policing that annoys the shit out of me i blocked them immediately )
more below
People out here acting like people who do this suddenly can’t differentiate historical fact and fan fiction/head canons. Yes i know historically they couldn’t be together, stop acting like people who do this are somehow erasing or aren’t aware of well known historical fact. These are HEAD CANONS for the love of god.
Another thing to add; the “tragedy” of their relationship is the least interesting thing about them to me, i love the devotion of it, the strong platonic and romantic bond that transcends something being capable of putting into words (Hans himself said it best with the story of Lancelot and Galehaut). So no their relationship isn’t diminished because in an au they ran away together. Maybe to you it is but guess what that has nothing to do with me.
Also people not giving a shit about Jitka doesn’t make them automatically misogynistic. Jitka is a character named maybe twice and is literally just a plot device to be used to represent the marriage and responsibility Hans doesn’t want (that yes is also historically accurate). No it doesn’t mean people are undermining the actual side of the woman in that particular situation that happened in real life. Jitka literally doesn’t exist in the game other than as a concept, of course people won’t care all that much about her. Another example of weird moral grandstanding and arm chair psychology that social media loves so much. It’s an incredibly chronically online take imo.
I could also make “intellectual” sophist arguments how people love to fetishize and insist on gay relationships always ending tragically (no matter the time period ) but that would be wrong and incredibly self important of me because that’s also bull shit armchair psychology and moral grandstanding. People enjoy things the way they want to, you have to just deal with it.
Some of you like sucking the fun out of everything when people aren’t having “your version of fun” so you have to moralize or intellectualize the reason as to why “your version is the correct one”. I immediately block people who do this.
And that last statement goes for most fandoms. Some of you need to learn to just scroll away and block people because no not everyone who liked things differently for different reasons is dumber and wrong.

I think if you spend most of your time on a computer you kinda owe it to yourself to learn how it works and, probably, to at least try to use Linux when possible. I honestly see it as a bit of a self respect thing? Like, are you seriously content with spending your entire day in front of a black box that's actively working against you? Seriously?
The contempt with which some people treat the mere idea of trying Linux/FOSS really irritates me, idk. Like, yeah, congrats on the superiority complex about your willful ignorance re: the tool you spend your entire day working with, asshole.
(Despite what you have doubtlessly been told, you can do art video production music production and play videogames on linux with either native tools or seamless compatibility layers. I will admit there are some compromises where dual booting or virtualization could make sense, though, but they're less every day)

yan wushi's betrayal is necessary, his cruelty is the point!!! much like the audience, shen qiao believes that there's kindness in yan wushi, and with time spent together, it will eventually show, no matter how small. that although they walk different paths, shen qiao's is the ultimate truth.
shen qiao's character flaw is not his kindness. it's his ignorance. and he doesn't truly accept (we, the audience, don't truly understand) this until yan wushi betrays him.

God I don't want to be too harsh because I know nobody means any harm by it but the way people analyze the Voices drives me crazy sometimes. Not even in the sense that I disagree with what's being written, but more in the sense of how these analyses treat the Princess.
I feel like in a certain section of the fandom there's this reluctance to admit that the Voices aren't always "positive" (for lack of a better term) characters? You'll see people give lip service to the idea that "it's good for a character to have flaws!" and then turn around and try to excuse their worst moments (and it's like. You don't have to do that. You can still like them).
And one of the consequences of this type of analysis is that the way the player's and the voice's actions affect the Princess is downplayed. I have seen analyzes of Happily Ever After which barely even mention the Princess, because they're so fixated on defending Smitten. I've seen people write off entire chapters as "bad" just because they didn't like the way the Voices were acting (with, again, barely a mention of the Princess). The Greys and the Witch chapters are arguably where both the Player and the Voices are at their worst, but fans will still twist around to make the Princess the sole villain of the story.
I don't know. I hate making these kinda posts because I don't want to shame anyone from writing/drawing something they love. But as a big fan of the Princess it's really saddening to see her pushed aside in favor of the male characters.

i'm aware that due to luffy's more cheerful personality and looks, a lot of people might find it weird to picture him in sexual situations. especially since most of us see him as aroace (as if aroace people couldn't have sex or be in love but, y'know, that's for another time) and it's completely understandable to not feel comfortable around sexual stuff if you don't like it with this specific character. however, being uncomfortable around that type of content and infantilizing luffy's character to the point that you consider it problematic or wrong to put him in romantic/sexual situations is too much and you should let people enjoy characters however the fuck they want. if you don't like something just scroll and ignore it, but don't try to make everyone follow your own moral compass and likes because we're all different and luffy is just a fictional character.
people often forget he's the captain of a pirate crew. he's mature and has critical thinking and if seeing a cheerful/cute character instantly makes you assume he deserves to be "protected" from sex/romance, you are: infantilizing his personality (that may or may not be neurodivergent coded, but that's another story), villainizing sex and romance instead of just seeing those as something you don't personally enjoy but should let other people consume, and using being aroace as a shield from the real world and a stereotype instead of actually being inclusive and truly seeing him as aroaspec. friendly reminder that aroaspec people can have sex and be in romantic relationships because it's a spectrum. that's the whole thing about it. it's understandable to not be comfortable around sexual situations with a character you don't perceive as sexually active, but that doesn't mean it's wrong to write him that way. let people do whatever they want with their idea of luffy and have fun!

I always respect your rule about suggestive posts, and I am 100% on board with it.
However please keep in mind that at least on mobile if there are many tags on a post some of these will be hidden! And some people might not notice the tag! Even I sometimes caught myself almost liking/reblogging something because I zoned out and didn't notice (I'm also a dummy and might not register that something is suggestive, especially that english isn't my first language.) When tagging questionable posts, please put the #suggestive tag first. Or not, I'm not gonna order you how to tag your posts, but please concider.
Thank you for reading and have a good weekend!
Sincerely, a 16yo ULTRAKILL fan
I’ll try to remember to put that tag at the front. I schedule all the posts when I’m at work so I’m usually more preoccupied with making sure no one is standing behind me while I’m doing that so the tags are an afterthought. But like I said I’ll try to fix that for future posts.
But anyway I reblogged that warning cause I had to block 2 accounts that followed and blatantly said they were 14. Meaning they couldn’t bother to read the short af blog description I have there. It’s right there as soon as you open the account. I can’t make it any more obvious. And I know they scrolled through the account because they were liking old posts that were tagged as well. They didn’t just follow from their dashboard. Not slick.
Like. Come on. I too was on tumblr from the age of 13 but I had the common sense to not do that. Stay out of trouble. Don’t cross people’s boundaries. 10 years from now you’ll realize how uncomfortable it’d be to have a 14 year old thirst posting in your replies.
If you’re going to do it anyway. Do that in your private discord or whatever with your friends that are (hopefully) around your age, I can’t stop you. But doing it out in the open with 0 respect is an auto block from me. Not only because it’s weird, but it opens themselves up to being creeped on.
