I am now over here reading all of Dash and Leo’s fics 😭

RATTLES THE BARS OF MY LITTLE ABODE! Leo is CATNIP to me in!!!! I think a slightly different flavor or variety than some of my other blorbos, but breaking down his behavior is just!!!! OOUUU I've been in my feelings about it all day.

And I think... part of the catnip of Dash & Leo is... is I Think... there was a level to them where they both identified the Other as Better and man I just. Bowl of soup, I want to drink it directly from the bowl. I'm probably incoherent right now because it is bedtime but OUUU. YOUR HONOR.

Funnily enough what started all this was chatting with another friend on Discord [so like whole bonus ramble I guess for this] about blorbos and that sent me on a Leo spiral that had me, in short, pondering the what if, or if he does, actually, end up twisting around his whole deal of getting into smuggling from... well, a predicament he got into and doesn't have a clear out of to... something he might be able to favorably manipulate if only so he finally has some room to pay back caring for the few people he is close to and I think... with Dash in his life and Liv still genuinely usually across the galaxy from him, he's... just trying to make a version of this bad scenario in which he might be a bit more genuinely able to look after himself so he's not worrying them all the damn time and I cannot emphasize enough how much I want to shake him like an ill-advised move against a vending machine about it. [He still thinks Dash deserves better but he is so, so, so Dash's sad little wet stray feral cat about it, he will Not Leave unless he is booted back on the street. Might still shake about it in the meantime though.]

I do also still have the handful of kiss prompts I got sitting in my inbox, one for the boys among them, I have kept them. This semester has been... That's a whole 'nother post in and of itself, but it's been a Time, so I haven't been rotating them to actually write much of them yet but they're in there. My little dragon horde of blorbo thought kickstarters when I need a pickup. And ofc the BG3 takeover happened, too. >.> [Inhales] But ouuuu Dash and Leo cuddles... I could return to those thoughts... new au ive been sorta chipping at

jd notices how upset branch is during the big fight, and rosiepuff steps in and tells them to quit fighting, so he doesn't leave. this prompts bruce and clay to stay too, as well as floyd, and no one leaves! things are tense for a while, and clay is particularly short with jd, but they stick around

bc five boys is a lot to handle, jd starts looking for smth to help support them. he ends up looking to work with a group of scavengers that sneak out of the cage to forage stuff in the northern forest. he meets a couple of trolls who let him tag along to look for something specific

they go out and jd is trying to figure out what theyre looking for since he was never told, but he doesn't figure it out before they find it; a troll with a debt. he realizes the trolls he's joined are bounty hunters and becomes alarmed, but they laugh and point out he's sorta just as much of one now too. they get back and he gets his share of the payment, and it's Really Good.

jd is suuuper torn as he goes home, but he's met by a very excited branch and becomes even MORE torn about his newfound line of work. he doesn't tell any of his bros what he was doing, but still decides to keep going with it, determined to take care of his brothers

he's gone for a few days at a time, but he does his best to spend time with his family whenever he's home, and things start to get better. bruce and clay slowly let go of the anger of the band stuff as jd proves to have stopped pressing them about it

after a while one of the jobs is a little harder, and jd gets injured- minorly, but significantly. he gets back and is immediately caught by bruce, who demands to know what he's actually doing, bc scavengers don't get hurt. jd hesitantly admits what's going on, and bruce decides to help him

idk any details after that but clay ends up joining their lil team, and floyd knows abt it but doesn't try to get into it until rosiepuff gets taken. eventually all five of em are in on it and brozone are now bounty hunters!

they each kinda have their own roles; jd leads and negotiates pay, bruce ends up really good at undercover work, clay is sorta like a guy in the chair and does a lotta the bg stuff, floyd's a really good scout, and branch is still sorta forging his role

GOD chapter 59 was SO GOOD n i have a lot to say so sending an ask instead of leaving it on the post.

i /love/ when you make things hyper detailed, because your shading techniques are so much fun to sit n stare at and soak in for a while. that being said, the coloring of the wine spilling is what does it for me this time. it still would have been really cool in bw, but not as cool as seeing all the shades of red over the dark blue bg. you did the glass really well too!! I don't think there's a noticeable difference between the wine color inside and outside the glass which is fine bc it's clear, so it RLY makes me appreciate the lighting you have around the glass rim to show the edge in contrast. that tiny little detail makes the image for me. stellar work. i love it

also i do wanna throw in appreciation for the handwritten serif. super well done at first glance it did look like you'd jus typed it out. idk what texture you have on the brush you use for words but it's rly nice to look at up close.

i think the color kinda tipped me off but i waffled bc i couldn't remember if either of his parents spoke in serif font and was a bit daunted to dig thru 50+ chapters to confirm who it was if it didn't turn out to be them. i'm glad i looked at your tags tho haha saved me the trouble. what a way to end the act too!! i read this one on my phone and was scrolling thru the images at full size and after four or so i kept expecting it to cut off. it was a very pleasant surprise to have it keep going, worth the wait to have a longer chapter :)

maybe it jus wasn't meant to be a la sabo getting the letter from sally. it might have to be stelly after all tho there are things that come before then. what a bad time to have one or both of his parents speak to him for the first time that night. oof can't wait for the next act lets goooo

Because i couldnt figure out how to make this moment look slow mo with multiple different panels on one page, I really wanted to make a piece that is like,, frozen in time instead.

I dont know if you can see the difference between this and my usual handwriting, but it’s supposed to look taller. Higher up. Neater. Cleaner. (Still my handwriting though so like so actually neat or clean, but you know like,,, in comparison to the norm.)

I definitely felt the same about the pages when drawing them. But probably the opposite feeling lol. Mine was more like “ugh i forgot theres so many. How many more of these do I have to get through??? How did i do this the first act ending with 11 pages???”
