Remember Y/n nakedness is nothing to be ashamed of. As a huntsman I’ve seen all types of bodies no worries,” he smiled. You backed away in a corner bumping into something or someone.

“That you would come to the hot spring again. We’ve been tracking your movements for a couple of days now,” Leona confessed. “For what purpose,” you gasped. “Well me and Rook have been in a competition. We want to prove whether a lion or a huntsman would defeat their prey first.”

“Oui oui now obviously it’s a huntsman! But our results have proven to be inconclusive so far,” Rook frowned. “We haven’t been able to catch much valuable prey but things change with time. Which is something lions don’t seem to understand.” While Rook was talking Leona drew closer to you until his hand touched your shoulder.

You shivered due to the cold air hitting your back. “Don’t worry herbivore we would never hurt you.” Yes, mon amour we just want to see who can bring you the most pleasure. Who could make you explode until the only thing you can do is cry out our names? After all, you are one of the most beautiful creatures on this planet and you deserve to be cherished for the rest of eternity.”

“Stop all that rambling so we can hear them answer,” Leona yelled. They both shut up awaiting your answer. You thought a lot about it although they annoyed your core they were attractive. A lot of very short stories about skk living together) (im a sucker for domestic skk that r still silly and bickering for fun) (and this fanfic is exactly that) (instead of suddenly very cutesy and petnames using couple that some ppl write) (castles out of couches makes me giggle like a teenage girl) (i drew some old arts based on this one, even)

So i would start from there and then check other halfbloom works with tags u r interested in! (I obv skipped what i didn't wanna read right) (tho i think they mostly write skk talking things thru, which is cool)) (there may be nsfw in some ig?? But it's bearable amounts + none of that annoying uwu chuuya daddy dazai)

most of these are about reality/modern-based sex writing rather than fantasy stuff where all the bets can be off!

there is literally no god word to use for balls/testicles, it's fine

USE CHARACTER NAMES. no "younger/older" woman, "darker/paler" man, just use their names especially during a sex scene

do learn some basic anatomy, please look up where the prostate is, where the g-spot is

but fanfic sex doesn't need to be instructional, you are not teaching people how to have sex. it very much shows when you write like this

fanfic is also not consent 101. it's fine to just let your reader assume they're 100% into what they're doing, and i think "unnegotiated kink" should be reserved for scenarios where the kink is spur of the moment, not just "involves kink but no explicit discussion of it" (unless they're not meant to be, which one assumes would be made clear in tags or descriptions!!)

that said, writing about discussing consent can be really fun, doesn't mean you can never do it. you just have to vibe out whether it's adding to the fic or not

talking really helps break up sex scenes, so write at least one character who's chatty lol

plan out your sex scene so you don't get stuck with what's happening next. remember you can go back to it to flesh it out/work on the pacing. honestly most of my sex scenes start on the page as a list that goes: LICK LICK CIRCLE CHAT SUCK SUCK STROKE LICK SUCK GAG SUCK TALK BIG CUM

speaking of going back to pacing, literally invoking time can help make a sex scene seem longer without saying "they fucked for seven and a half minutes". "a long moment later" "by the time X, the sun had begun to rise/fall", "long into the night"

lube is preferable but optional, even for butt stuff. sex without lube doesn't mean it's painful or dangerous, especially for experienced butt stuff doers.

spit as lube is not a cardinal sin and is miles better than things that are actually dangerous (engine oil? things w sugar like honey? baby dont give your chars a yeast infection)

olive oil is fine but it's messy and it doesn't play w condoms, but fine if you're going historical

speaking of which, from my experience people in established relationships forego condoms way quick. and in general people forget to use them all the time. again, this isn't Safe Sex 101, it's fanfic.

but on the flip side, its sexy/funny when characters have lube and condoms to hand. there is no funnier environmental storytelling than there being a bottle of water based lube in the kitchen cupboard with the peanut butter.

simultanious orgasms are a pain to time and sure they're romantic but there's other fun climax dynamics. maybe one character feels duty/honour bound to always make sure their partner comes first

come/cum? it doesn't matter, just keep it consistant per fic

similar, be consistant with your body part names, even if you use a few. e.g. you use "cunt" in narration, but character A uses "pussy", keep that consistant.

you can still euphamise genitals without it sounding like you're afraid of them - sometimes six instances of "cock" in a row doesn't flow, that's when you should be utilising your "hardness" and "shaft" and "length"

the brain is a sex organ, and all the senses are engaged during sex. you can bulk out yor sex scenes and give great insight into the character experiences by describing what they're experiences with non-touch senses (or the lack of them, e.g. when blindfolds are in the mix)

even in pwp works, you're saying something about the characters who are fucking. you can give context and inferred complexity without plot. are they familiar with each other's bodies? is this new? are they confident, or nervous.

write for you! if you are a person who experiences sexual response to erotic fiction, then a good measure of your own work is if it makes you horny to write/re-read it. there's absolutely no shame about being aroused during the process. there's no harm in taking a wank break.

I'm honestly not sure what exactly these were so I'm kinda guessing but I think it was punnihawk (@onekisstotakewithme's Close to the Heart), piercentyre (it hasn't actually happened in this fic yet but it's in the tags, Ben by escapismthingy) and Josh/Donna (my wonderful gift fic I haven't had the chance to finish reading yet but I can't wait, Paper Thin by @librarianmouse).

Punnihawk

It was hard to accurately describe my feelings using a bingo card because they're kinda complicated! I don't think punnihawk is a spicy ship but that's okay, I'm not always in the mood for spice. It can get a little spicy, or at least messy though, and that's when I like it the most. I'm basically into punnihawk sometimes and if I like the story enough. But I still really struggle to see any romantic chemistry between Hawkeye and BJ, so I'm mostly interested in the BJ/Peg and Hawkeye/Peg sides and Hawkeye/BJ is kind of just along for the ride! At the end of the day I still prefer BJ and Peg as a couple having a platonic friendship with Hawkeye (although post-war Hawkeye-BJ friendship isn't my bread and butter either, I have written it). I do mostly still hc BJ as straight, because the BJ in the show reads maximally heterosexual to me, but I can make bi BJ work for the sake of a good fic, so the sexuality sort of clashes but not exactly.

Piercentyre

This is a weird case for fandom ruined the ship for me and then it got unruined. See, when I first joined the fandom, I encountered one consistent narrative for piercentyre, and I absolutely could not stand that narrative. I still can't. So I thought I just didn't like the ship until much later I met some people who who doing it in a different way and I was like oh, duh. I still think I prefer them as best friends rather than a couple, if only because when it comes to MASH I prefer canon over fanon always (Larry Gelbart and Alan Alda are better writers than anyone here including me). But I've also started to really enjoy them as a couple and just really enjoy funny silly sex situations for them. At the end of the day they're best friends who love each other and whether they're fucking or not is kind of just the icing on the cake.

Josh/Donna

drives me crazy! (affectionate), Where's the spice?! (affectionate). They're just two people who really enjoy each other's company and that's what makes it so good! Fandom didn't ruin it per se, but I do periodically get tired of it from overexposure in fandom, and I disagree with a lot of popular headcanons and fanfic tropes for them. I do also wish the fandom was a tad less Josh/Donna focused. But then I watch 17 People or Holy Night or Guns Not Butter and I remember I'm obsessed with them. The therapy has nothing to do with their relationship they both just need it for other reasons. I also chose "besties" because I think their romantic relationship is based on a strong friendship and they're basically best friends for the first 5 seasons, and it bothers me that both some fics and the last 2 seasons of the show itself sometimes forget that. I don't actually entirely believe Josh and Donna as purely platonic besties which is a problem for me in Sam/Josh universes, haha.

ALWAYS. ALWAYS can i just say i was absolutely floored to have this in my inbox its been AGES since ive sat down and thought consistently about block party ...

exile . i cant remember how much ive talked about it ... tommy is more or less banished from the lmanburg House (wilburs house (schlatts house (now tubbos house) )) and is living with dream . dreams house is decrepit but manageable - tommy is contrastingly unmanageable at least in the beginning, trashing the place and causing problems while dream goes out all day to do who-knows-what (probably try to get george out of his awesome acid-based stupor) . tommy is routinely punished for rebelling through increasingly intensive rounds of isolation and destruction of things he owns (all shit we see in exile canonically) .

such an important part of exile is that it all starts small ... tommys got pictures and mementos and junk and of course those go to the chopping block, but the little shit in the beginning is like. throwing out snacks. no hot water. no sitting on couches. no mattress. escalating and getting worse . this stuff evolves from "not being allowed to go home" to "not allowed to leave dreams property" to "not allowed to even go inside". anything he scrounges up or things that ranboo might leave him are destroyed. eventually the awesome dog chain is introduced. the equivalent of tommy waking up drowning in the ocean is tommy also waking up drowning, this time in dreams disgustingly neglected for koi pond (same koi pond he bashed his brains against when dream shot him in the duel) . the timeframe is still wintry, like nov/dec and he still spends christmas out in the snow, this time with stupid dog chain secured, huddled against the locked back door while inside patches purrs and dream plays tommys disc (whichever one he had at that time i cant remember) .

i feel like a big aspect of exile in bp is that for the most part, tommy can still sort of see things happening. hes chained in dreams backyard but if he stretches he can see the cars coming up and down the street, he can hear the shouting from the block over, he can see the neighbors going about their lives and throwing the frisbee for their dogs. hes become an outsider but hes no longer removed in the way he is in canon dsmp

that christmas stream where dream gives him the picture of the lmanburg christmas tree .... haunting lol. idk its the little things . some sort of picture taken of the lmanburgians actually in that little house with the boarded windows and the panelling all smiling with the stupid tree in the middle, just a crappy polaroid or disposable camera pic for him to hold on to .

exile ends with that final destruction of his shit , a suicide attempt via drowning in koi pond AGAIN, and the rediscovery of the knife tommy brought to the first duel which he uses to pry/destroy the base holding the dog chain into the ground & then running off through to snow toward technos house, who in bp is the equivalent of an overgrown eagle scout with an armored jeep (this is the wither) (he ran it into the lmanburg house) and a lot of weapons & you know how the rest of it goes .

for clarification that is meant to be techno but h thought it was dream and said his lord farquaad cut was funny

the prison is such a fun place it is sams basement. heres an image that i sent h months i guess over a year ago

sam padlocks the hell out of the door at the top of the stairs . after the final confrontation which, honestly, was never discussed so we'll have to come back to that one, sam (neighborhood watchdog type) is tasked with taking care of dream and making sure he's unable to harm other members of society. the exile dog chain comes back in order to restrain him and as an added precaution for keeping him away from everyone else. its around his ankle (compared to tommys neck) and he can just barely reach up the stairs with it on.

tommy begs sam to let him visit - sam reluctantly agrees - sam monitors while tommy visits - sams place is attacked - tommy is padlocked in with dream. theres like a doggy door style situation in the door to the basement through which sam can give them food & communicate . this is also how the cat comes and goes - we decided against killjng the cat bc we are pussies so instead it just runs off and dream throws a fit

so in any other situation tommy would be able to evade dream by just living at the top of the stairs, but dream is able to snap the chain during tommys stay and thats no longer an option . tommy cant be let out because dream is no longer secure & his escape isnt a risk theyre willing to take .

so the cat runs off, dream is at his limit, tommy meets an untimely demise (gets his skull caved in either against the unfinished concrete floor or with some miscellaneous basement object following a nice time being flung down the basement stairs), dream refuses to "bury" him and so he isnt revived for a few days (in bp in order to be revived the face has to be covered before the sun rises, idr why we went with that mechanic but it makes for some fun situations ... leaving bodies unburied OR burying they incompletely can make for some fucked up revivals, see cfundy/ckarl/cwilbur-to-ghostbur)

idk i dont know what else to say. tommy is stuck in the basement of a man he trusted with the person who tortured him and is completely helpless unless its grappling with his bare fucking hands, which it eventually becomes and even then hes just not strong enough . the inside of his mouth is absolutely shredded by his braces. the basement smells like death for months.

YES give me literally ALL the salty opinions on Anastasia the Broadway Musical

I feel like when I watched it I liked it, not loved it, but then the more I thought about it/ESPECIALLY the more I saw the fandom praise decisions that were made, the worse the whole thing got

The weirdest bit, to me, was watching people act as if film!Dimitri and musical!Dmitry have literally anything in common. Film!Dimitri is a great character who I love, and people used their warm memories of him to justify Klena's stage Dmitry who was, frankly, an asshole. He threatens her, he doesn't put in half the work she or Vlad does in the con, and is just ... awful. I love asshole characters, and honestly have a soft spot for asshole stage Dmitry, but as a romantic option? Absolutely the fuck not.

Anya at least has a similar amnesia backstory to her film counterpart, but that's where the similarities end. Film!Anya is 18, self-assured, and kills the bad guy. Musical Anya is nearly 26, a terrified waif, and simply lies down and waits to be killed. These characters have nothing in common. It frustrates me to no end because we've had more than one version of the story with a good, strong Anna/Anya/Anastasia, and instead we get this absolute void where a character should be.

You could literally replace Anya with the music box, making it a plot about two conmen getting Maria's favorite trinket to her while Gleb tries to stop them for some reason, and nothing would change. Gleb can still choose not to stop this all on his own, because Anya did nothing to change his mind in canon.

The biggest issue in my eyes, and the one we kept coming back to, is that Anya isn't Anastasia. She might be, but so much of the fandom takes it as gospel that she is and it makes the story boring -- and problematic, which is why people don't like it.

Morally, if she's not Anastasia, this is a story of two conmen who gaslight a mentally ill woman into thinking she's someone she's not. One of them falls in love with her because he's carried a torch for this a child he saw one time seventeen year ago. This is a deeply unsettling thing to think about, and given we never see Anya display much fire and personality (outside of the one fight scene) I'm not confident she'll hold her own when Dmitry next yells at her. In fact, I'm pretty sure she'll do what she does throughout the show; go along with being the person he says she is, pretending to be his dream girl.

And here's the thing: the Romanovs were killed in July. Anya talks about being found in the snow by the road. These things are pretty incompatible, since Yekaterinburg is a pretty pleasantly warm temperature around that time of year. So either Anya got shot and dumped twice, or she's not Anastasia.

Then we have a 'villain' who's saying saying "Hey, maybe don't take the identity of someone who's already been condemned to death. Maybe just stay Anya and also out of trouble, please."

That said, I don't like Karimloo as Gleb, so there's that. All his choices are awful and weaken a role that already isn't getting much support from the text.

Honestly, the whole fandom made me feel like I was taking crazy pills. Anastasia is a fun musical, and one with potential, but it is - critically - not good. Feel free to send me your salt as well, I've got LOTS to commiserate about.

Assorted minor complaints!

Dmitry's father was sent to a labor camp when Dmitry was young. Given Dmitry is 27 now, that means that his father was sent to (and died in) a labor camp under the Tsar's regime. Oops. Good thing he was so into that 8 year old he saw back then!

Gleb is consistently cast older when that just doesn't work. If he's any older than Anya, he would've been sent to fight in WWI, which to me would justify anti-monarchy sentiments. Since he's still living at home and considers himself 'a boy' when the Romanovs were killed, he would be Anya's age or younger -- so under eighteen at the time, and under 26 now.

The scene where they call Dmitry 'Dima', as if to establish they know how nicknames work, @ everyone who complained about the '97 film using "Anya". Except that film never said"Anya" was short for "Anastasia", and in the play it's short for "Anna". So.

The ballet that parallels Dmitry to Siegfried and Gleb to Rothbart. You know, Rothbart being the man who dresses a girl up like a princess, and Siegfried being the one to almost shoot her. But sure.

Also, "Odette" does Odile's fouettes there, so you could argue that that is Odile, the fake, the whole time. Interesting choice.

I really cannot stress enough that Anya and Dmitry have no shared backstory at all yet the show pretends they do. "Crowd of Thousands" took place almost two decades ago.

I'm realizing a lot of these complaints are just, nobody looked at the timeline at all. And it seems nitpicky, but it also seems like the bare minimum they could've done, you know?

Girls’ night in to me is about movies, karaoke, and questionable beverages that come in a multitude of questionable colours.

Drinking games: set one up for whatever movies you’re watching. Some suggestions of what not to do include “every time Elle wears pink” or “every time Meryl Streep sings.” You want a sensible amount of triggers… though, I mean, if you’re staying the night, you don’t need to worry about the next morning right?

Drinking Games I remember from Cheerleading Socials:

Medusa: Everyone, on one person’s call, holds their head down, and then looks up and looks at another member of the group. If you’re making eye-contact with someone, you both drink; if you’re not, you’re safe!

Who the fuck, what the fuck?: Sounds wild, but I promise it’s great. Everyone in the group creates a rhythm together by hitting their thighs and clapping in turn (but the wise will hit their chairs or the floor and not their thighs because I used to get BRUISES!). On beat, the first person will say “who the fuck, what the fuck can I get a [name] fuck?” They say the name of another person in the group, who then repeats, passing the call randomly to other people in the group. If you fall out of rhythm, you drink!

Most Likely To: I’m sure a lot of you know this one- a question is posed eg who is the most likely to kiss a stranger? And you point at the member of the group who is most likely to kiss a stranger. Whoever has the most votes has to drink.

I think delivery/take-out is almost obligatory, with my go-do being Chinese, Japanese, or pizza, personally, or a local fast food chain to which there is no competition BUT there’s no better group bonding activity than making food. Whether your skill level is Betty Crocker Brownies (a classic) or you’re a true Remy Ratatouille, it can be fun to bring something you made yourself.

You can do this in the style of a potluck, where all guests bring a dish, or you can pick recipes to cook together for the evening. You could try making something you’ve never tried before and doing it together!

This one is self-explanatory, and I’m sure you all have your favourites that you bust out. Personally, I’m bringing my partner into the world of girls’ nights in with Mamma Mia 1 & 2 back-to-back and following up with Grease.

Drinking games that work better out:

Boat Races: get in two lines of equal length, everyone must be holding (ideally de-fizzed, formerly fizzy) alcoholic beverage, ideally of around the same amount of content. On a count down, the people at one end of the lines drinks, and the next person can’t drink until the previous person has finished, and so on until the end of the line.

Paranoia: this one works well out because its usually noisy! Someone whispers into the ear of the next person in the circle (pick a direction, left or right, but stay consistent). You ask questions such as “who would you want to live with?” or “would you kiss anyone here?” etc, and the askee says the name of one person present out loud, no context. If the person wants to know what the question was, they drink. If not, they never know.

I’m sure you’ve heard the usual- take a taxi, walk in well-lit areas if you have to walk, travel in groups,and carry your keys between your fingers.

I want to encourage you all to come up with a code. You may have heard this one too, but I really want to emphasise it. My friends and I have had symbols to mean:

What I mean with “signals” is signs you can do with your fingers such as a thumbs up, waggle your pinky, or anything else that can be done clearly. If you have any issues with dexterity, try something vocal or facial, or even a tap system with a foot.

Something else to be aware of is Ask for Angela: A scheme exists in the UK in which anyone on a night out who feels unsafe can ask bar staff a phrase such as “is Angela working tonight?” Asking for Angela is used to indicate that you need help, and they can reunite you with your group, call bouncers/police, and keep you safe. Similar concepts have been used in the US under the name Angel Shot- you order an Angel Shot neat, and they’ll escort you to a car, on the rocks for them to call a taxi, or with lime in order to have the police called.

Make yourself aware of schemes that might be in operation in your area, and research if they’re well-used.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Not generally, except for the AC Star Wars AU that has taken over my brain. I'm not even sure I would count that as a crossover so much as a fusion AU because there are absolutely no Star Wars characters in it.

I'm not positive this person was copying my fic, but I distinctly remember not long after I posted Hideaway coming across a fic with the same premise (Din playing hide and seek with the kids on Sorgan), which followed all the exact same plot beats as mine. And I do mean exactly. Obviously the plot itself is not particularly groundbreaking and I think there are plenty of other similar stories out there, but this one was similar enough to set off alarm bells.

I didn't end up doing anything about it because again, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and it could have easily been a coincidence, but obviously if they had fully reposted my fic then that would be a different story.

Actively written a fic with another person? No. Plotted a fic from start to finish in a months-long series of increasingly deranged DMs? So many times. Hi Parker. :)

Girl... I can't answer this. I don't know about "favourite" but if I had to pick a ship that has made me crazy for the most amount of time, it's probably Mako/Raleigh.

15. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will?

I still think about my post-Mando s2 fix-it fic every once in a while but I honestly doubt I'll ever finish it. Disney has pretty much killed any care I once had for this show and it fucking sucks. :/

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm not even being modest right now I just actually don't know lmao. Anything that I might qualify as a strength isn't consistent enough for me to feel justified in calling it a strength.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Overthinking my use of commas, editing while I write, feeling directionless when I don't do enough planning ahead of time but feeling suffocated when I do too much planning ahead of time. Also just being sooooo fucking slow, but I think that can be attributed to the overthinking.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I avoid it as much as humanly possible. If someone is speaking another language I'll usually just note it in the text somehow or, as has been the case with Honor Bound a lot of the time, purposefully write from the POV of a character who doesn't speak that language which, in addition to conveniently sidestepping that issue, works well as a narrative device.

I just absolutely hate the thought of putting Google translated dialogue in a fic and having a native speaker cringe their way through grammatically incoherent dialogue lmao.

hate to put a downer in the tag but is anyone else majorly disappointed in s&b season 2? it feels like the show was rushing to get to all the "important bits" without giving them the weight and buildup they deserved. they front-loaded the entire plot of Crooked Kingdom and got to the ending of Siege and Storm in, like, episode 2. And that ending... holy shit, that sucked.

No white-hair-Alina, no orphanage happy ending for her and Mal, no mention of Alina's full-ass cult. Does no one remember the girl with suns tattooed on her face??? I do. she was cool. And what the fuck is up with David dying in the assault on the Fold? He wasn't supposed to die until Rule of Wolves, it makes no sense why they pushed his death to this season. They're clearly expecting to get a season 3, based on the ending with the Crows (which is, inexplicably, the hook of the book that came before the one they adapted for this season????) so why would they not expect to play David's death out the way it happened in the book? And, again, why the fuck did they front-load the plot of Crooked Kingdom? Why is Kaz's most famous scene just kind of tossed in the middle of the season with no actual narrative buildup? Why does the show feel like Matthias, of all people, needs to have beef with Pekka Rollins??? Those two characters have exactly nothing to do with each other--iirc, they don't even interact in the books. It feels like the writing team just sat around a table and went "ooh what if" until they wrote enough words to fill in a script. I can't tell if Leigh Bardugo gave all of this her blessing, or if she just looked away too long and they went rogue on her.

(side-note, killing the king and Vasily at the same time wasn't a great choice. the scene in the book where Nikolai looks his not father in the eye and tells him to get out, or he'll be charged for his crimes against Genya is such a good moment of catharsis for her character, and the queen isn't in enough of the show for her little replacement scene to fill that gap.)

And I know I've mentioned this before, but the Darkling's death in the show is robbed of its weight by the way the show treats the name Aleksander. It's tossed around so flippantly that Alina's final extension of respect for him--calling him by the name he had when he was innocent--feels like she's just... saying goodbye. She's using the name he's had this whole time, rather than specifically calling him Aleksander as a show of respect for the dead. The Darkling is supposed to be a tragic character--not likeable by any standard, he's thoroughly and truly the villain of the Grisha Trilogy, but you're supposed to understand that at one point, he was innocent. At one point, he could have done something good. His death is a reminder of that, in the books. In the show, all you really feel is relief that you don't have to listen to his manipulative dialogue anymore.

Honestly, the season doesn't suck. It's not bad (I have some extra gripes about the sound design but that's definitely a budget issue and not really anyone's fault), it's just disappointing. There were some bits I really did like, too!! Every scene with Genya in it was absolutely incredible, the show did her so well. The humour in this season was consistently good. Show-Wylan lives up to his book counterpart very well. And the subplot with the saint in Shu Han was really well-done, even if I do wish the show had kept the original catalyst for Jesper using his Grisha powers. I know the show can do the books justice (the two Nina and Matthias scenes in season 1 that are literally word-for-word accurate come to mind as examples), and I do want there to be a season 3 so I can find out where they're going with all this. I was just expecting better. I'm sure people who haven't read the books, or are more forgiving of "high-budget fan fiction" style adaptations will really enjoy it, and that's not bad by any means.

Idk. I was just hoping for something the show didn't want to give, I guess.

Yeah we're gonna make him young and sexy so it's fine." That was a real thing!! It aired on television and I was REALLY invested!! Man OUAT was such a wild ride lmao

i thought it was destiel but i checked by ao3 bookmarks and apparently newmann are still unbeat!! shoutout to the year where i was obsessed with those gay little scientists, i went absolutely NUTS for them. My newmann fics that I bookmarked are more than the #2 and #3 ships COMBINED.

there's usually an earnestness or a sincerity that either one or both of them has. where one person is just like very open about how much they like/admire the other, or where they engage with people so trustingly, or something along those lines. sometimes its sincere4snarky, sometimes its sincere4sincere, and sometimes its "i'm only earnest around you"

What you absolutely hate in a ship?

What are your hobbies? Writing is my main hobby, hence this blog so i can post it somewhere. I also like the occasional viddy game as a Treat. I also enjoy pretending I'm a stern and practical governess to encourage myself to do chores. Oh and fashion.

What sports do you play/have you played? None. I did cross country a little in school. But I absolutely Hate team/organised sports. It gives me flashbacks of being in school and being yelled at constantly about shit I didn't care about and didn't understand the rules to. My PE teacher sucked and whenever we played cricket or rounders I was sent to the farthest farthest field on purpose so I would just stand their all session (I call this the Calvin and Hobbes treatment. I remember reading that strip and relating so hard I read every single C&H strip ever made). Just Awful Awful Awful stop fucking yelling at me. Also I enjoy Ice skating recreationaly.

How tall are you? 5'7 - 5'8 depending on how shrimp-like my spine is feeling

Favourite subject at school? Maths and Biology.

Dream job? Lecturer at a uni with solid and consistent funding for research in my preferred field. Which hopefully I'm on the right track for!

4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

This is a fun question. I don't remember what I was proudest of when I hit publish, but scrolling back through, this (and just above) is the part of wanting me wanting you where I started to figure out what kind of things I could do with the idea of telepathy + sex, and it still makes me go, hey, that was a pretty good brain blast I had, thank you brain can we do that again?

“Oh,” Imogen says incoherently, and she lets herself settle backwards against the bed. In Laudna’s mind’s eye she sees herself, dress pooling around her, flushed and wanting. There’s a confusing rush of arousal at the image—Laudna’s, she realizes. She is seeing herself in the mirror of Laudna’s mind’s eye, and aching with need. It turns her on deliriously.

And this paragraph in push/pull has gotten some love, which makes me happy because I am still very pleased with it:

24. Are there any easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they?

Hmm, nothing that anyone wouldn't have caught, I think. push/pull has revivify cock ring and monkey gun. Does it count as an easter egg if in my mind the rest of the Hells one million percent knew Imogen and Laudna were heading off to fuck even though they went to bed "not so early as to be indecent"?

Also not sure if this counts as an easter egg, but I always have an internal battle over whether to be consistent with dropping Imogen's gs, and this is a spot where I went back and forth and back and forth and ultimately could just not bring myself to do it.

“You’re dripping,” Imogen says as Laudna lowers herself onto Imogen’s thigh and rocks her hips into it, and she doesn’t know what ravenous part of her the words are coming from as they spill hotly from her mouth.

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

I mean here is how my smut-writing career began:

so honestly, writing smut to begin with was a big step outside my comfort zone! I'm glad I started with a First Time fic because it let me explore things more slowly rather than vaulting in with more of a charged dynamic. I think it's probably safe to guess that the more smut I write the more interesting the range of attached tags is going to get.

When in doubt I'm pretty much always going to default to talking process! My process was really different for these two fics--wanting me wanting you is the least-outlined fic I've ever written (had a typically thorough outline for the introductory scene, but almost nothing for the sex, just a little section at the bottom of the doc labeled LET'S INCLUDE SOME OF THIS STUFF with some ideas/scraps of scenes below it. I figured out what I wanted to do with the fic, including the entire telepathy sex conceit, as I was writing. push/pull, however, had not only an outline but a beat-by-beat bullet point sketch of almost the whole fic before I sat down and started writing any actual sentences. (My usual for non-smut is somewhere in between these two things, although definitely closer to the push/pull side of things.)

[Disrespectful Replies Pt. 1]

Starting a new tag series. I will be responding to the latest controversial/idiotic topics or thoughts I come across. Starting with height.

No you wouldn’t. Team USA just got their ass handed to them by Team Germany which consists of what looks like a bunch of white dudes and 5’11 Africans. Also, you still should be able to shoot at whatever height. Remember, there are FEMALE basketball players standing at about 5’6. You just either aren’t athletic or can’t shoot. Also, you’ve clearly never experienced the strength difference of a growth spurt. It’s like 10,000 bricks to 1 free throw.

“I’m only short because my dad made me like this.”

I’m about to have all my baby mommas be short to debunk this bullshit. How does it prove anything? You only need one tall gene to accomplish this. It’s also because BOTH your parents are short, dumbass. Your genetics are assigned based on necessity in comparison to the opposing genetic. Meaning the genetics you have fit BEST with the ones you get from the opposite parent. Example: Long legs, small feet. Sounds ridiculous right? How is that best for survival? DUMB ASS THOUGHTS. My father and I are 3 inches taller than my 6’0 grandfather. My other grandfather is about 6’0 or just under. It is possible for an individual to be taller than their parent (or same as). It just has to be the best genetic combination. You all are idiots. Also, some of you aren’t strong enough (NATURALLY, dumbass) to support the weight of the human body, if tall. In addition to this, are you aware taller people (statistically) live shorter lives? Some of us are already dead. Genetics are about strength and survival. Not the life you wanted. Life is not supposed to boost your mental strength into forming an ego because of your genetics or physical strength to allow you to become a bitter villain. Adding, joint pains are not typically a short person issue.

There are fat, skinny, ugly, pretty, athletic, non-athletic tall people. Have you watched sports? Someone has to be the loser. Not all tall people luck up in the gene pool. Some of us are just average talent wise or looks wise, even below. Taller people do not receive special treatment. Those over 6’0 are taller than over 80% of the world and 90% at 6’2. We do not receive special treatment. We are not approachable. We are not well liked, other than when envied.

These are not issues. It is just not something to complain about from the outside looking in (short). Not every instance of being tall is as great as you believe…better than climbing on counters and complaining though. In the modern world, you may benefit more from your situation. The world feels you are approachable. The world FEELS they can manipulate you based on your size, take advantage (employment). As opposed to us being consciously or subconsciously assessed right away. The world is majority money focused today, so in a world where you are seen as a better option, in whatever way. Stop looking at unique opportunities like sports, “success” and “relationships” as a privilege we have over others. In sports, we can’t ALL make the roster in professional sports. We can’t ALL be the best. We can’t ALL have the absolute best opportunities. We can’t have all our problems solved by seeing over crowds and refrigerators.

The world is unique. What is the difference? Every life has it’s challenges. Shut the fuck up. You have never experienced SHIT. Not even in your own life. What do you know about being successful in someone else’s life?

EDIT: 6’0 or under is short (to me). The 5’10-5’11 mafia complains so much about “feeling” short/not tall enough that I have to consider them as short as everybody 5’3-5’9. Shit is ridiculous.
