The bright sunshine, the light sweat pouring from your forehead despite being inside your father's cool car made you feel young again, something in the air was so innocent and sweet that bright summer. Especially when he insisted you spend the summer with his wife's family, as if you were a little girl, you agreed, you had a very tedious and frustrating semester in college that you needed a distraction, plus a huge house with a yard, pool and near the beach didn't sound bad at all. You'd be doing nothing but sunbathing in your bathing suit, relaxing.
You walked onto the grounds of the house, it really was a mansion, the architecture was modern but there were some classic touches that for some reason got you. You were surprised, thinking that your 'aunt' really did get a rich man this time. Your father remarried when you were 17, to a woman 7 years younger than him who couldn't have children, so she always opened you up to her family, treating you sweetly, going to your high school graduation, and supporting you in your college career, so you met your stepmother's family, who had two sisters —she was the middle one— the oldest, Lilian, who had a daughter your age and you became close, however, you lived apart from each other; your stepmother Dahlia, and the youngest, Ruby, who was the prettiest of the three, was young, glamorous and kind; you weren't sure, but you thought she was at least twenty-nine or thirty and, that she got herself a rich boyfriend who kindly offered his summer home to her whole family.
Liv, Lilian's daughter greeted you as soon as you got out of the car, you felt small, like a young girl still close to your parents when you spent more time at college than with them for years. Liv hugged you briefly, making your sunglasses slip off and fall into your eyes, you both moved where the sun didn't hit you directly and greeted each other shyly.
“No shit, I have no idea where Aunt Ruby got her boyfriend from, but a house with a pool in this weather, is a house with a pool, I don't care” Liv spoke.
You let out a chuckle, you watched as Ruby came out of the doorway, and you walked over to greet her, after all somehow Dahlia always went out of her way to make you consider her as family, and she received your brief hug.
“Oh wow, you grew up a lot along with Liv, I haven't seen you since Christmas” she commented to which you smiled.
After that Ruby went over to her sister, you helped by carrying your luggage and walked into the house, it seemed unreal that you were going to be under someone stranger's roof, but at least you wouldn't be alone, Liv could distract you a bit.
“Girl, wait till you meet Ruby's boyfriend, he's kinda hot, not gonna lie” Liv whispered in your ear, helping you with your stuff and guiding you to the room you both would share.
Once inside the room you jokingly said to her, “So it's not about an old sugar daddy she found around?”
Liv pursed her lips and softly denied, “He's handsome, young, rich and has an accent. I think this summer will be fun… want to meet him?”
You nodded amused, curiosity consumed you; you and Liv spent hours talking behind Ruby's back about the strange and extravagant kind of life she led, it was a fun topic of conversation for you, you analyzed every partner she had, since she didn't know how to be alone, and just had girl talk, secreting and gossiping a little.
“Oh, honey, the cherry pie” your father reminded you once he saw you coming down the stairs.
You sighed, remembering that you had baked Ruby your cherry pie which she loved so much, just because, out of a mere act of kindness, and because your dad reminded you how much she was a fan of that dessert of yours and that you should at least give it to her as a thank you for spending the summer at her house, or her boyfriend's, rather.
You took the tart out of the car, Liv waited for you at the entrance of the house and then led you to the kitchen, where a very smiling and happy Ruby received your gift, thanking you and reminding you how delicious it should be. Liv was about to ask about Chris, Ruby's boyfriend and owner of the place, just so you could meet him and analyze him with your own eyes, but Ruby herself stepped forward saying:
“Oh, you haven't met Chris, have you? I think he's outside getting the pool ready better for you girls to swim in. I'll go get him.”
Liv raised her eyebrows and looked at you a little amused, again you felt small, giving funny looks to your cousin-friend; you had been so consumed by college that you had forgotten the simplicity of the little things. Ruby didn't take long, your father and stepmother already met Chris, as apparently he had been dating Ruby for a while and was quite serious, and once again, you lived in your college dorm and institution almost.
And the man appeared, you really didn't expect to see a man like him, with a downwards smile, a bit shy, but his presence was quite strong in the room; he was wearing a white t-shirt loose to his muscular body with the name and logo of a luxury brand, denim jeans up to his knees and sneakers. He looked young, and he was cute, and so attractive to your taste, but you wanted to instantly brush the thoughts away.
“Chris Bang, nice to meet you” he greeted, in a thick voice and a soft accent, just as your cousin had mentioned.
You returned his greeting, introducing yourself, Chris also didn't expect to meet two young and beautiful girls like Ruby's nieces, but you, there was something that caught his attention in you, it was rare, but you radiated innocence plus however your strong and piercing gaze contrasted with the rest of your tender appearance. You couldn't help but darken your gaze, you liked what you saw, he was attractive, he had a unique and clean face that you could watch for hours, the harmony of his face with his sharp, dark, small eyes, combining perfectly with his distinct nose and rosy lips, his slightly pale skin detonating small pink and tan undertones, you realized that never in your little more than twenty years of life had you ever paid so much attention to a man. You didn't understand what it was about him, besides being incredibly attractive, but something drew you to him.
“Thank you for letting us stay at your place…” you said, almost lost in him, you didn't know why you said it, maybe you just wanted to talk to him more.
“Oh, it's nothing, really.”
Chris licked his lips, staring at you, going over in his mind that if it was you the girl who wasn't directly blood related to Ruby.
“Oh, babe, Y/N brought us her cherry pie” Ruby spoke, clinging to her boyfriend's arm.
Liv held back her laughter at her aunt's immature attitude. Chris looked over to the counter.
“Did you bake it?” he asked.
You nodded, “Yeah, Ruby… Ruby really likes it.”
Chris leaned into the counter, leaning on his elbows and with his long fingers lightly played with the edge of the pie plate, you focused on his hands, so manly, big, slender and with visible veins running up his arms; then you returned your gaze to him who said, in a different tone, slower and looking deeply and directly into your eyes,
“I bet it tastes delicious.”
A shiver went down your spine, oh, you were liking it too much. Your cousin raised her eyebrows at his sudden action, instantly recognizing his gentle flirtation.
“Anyway, pool's ready” Chris added, standing up straight.
“Thanks, Chris, we'll go swimming now” Liv mentioned, trying to break the incredible tension or magnetism she suddenly felt between you and her aunt's boyfriend.
Liv grabbed your arm and almost dragged you into your room, pulling you out of your trance, you could only think about who he was and…. how was it that Ruby got him, even though you knew perfectly well that she was beautiful and had a bubbly personality; you thought about his hands, and his subtle comment that made your hair stand on end.
“C'mon babe, let's go swimming,” Liv told you, teasing her aunt for calling Chris 'babe.'
You blinked suddenly…. trying to get it out of your head and reacted, quickly grabbing your suitcase and pulling out your clothes almost in desperation, finding the most revealing swimsuit you packed, a red two-piece bikini; the rest of your swimsuits weren't cute, you were so indisposed with the idea of wearing something hot, since you thought it would just be you and Liv in the pool, so you packed shorts and old t-shirts to get wet and, clearly you were also expecting a middle-aged man not at all attractive to your taste, not a damn man like Chris.
You sighed, thinking you had to go into town to buy better swimsuits. And after you put on your bikini, you perused your makeup, you perfected it more, using your best waterproof mascara, blush, pink gloss, you didn't know what you were doing but you wanted to look good. You almost forgot Liv was there, you didn't give a shit how obvious you acted, primping with effort. Chris had awakened something in you that you hadn't sensed before, it was as if he suddenly gave meaning and fun to your monotonous college life, you suddenly felt like a complete attention whore, wanting his eyes on you all the time.
Your cousin also wore a cute blue plaid print bikini, had two braids done and grabbed her sunglasses, reminding you to take yours, replacing the ones you had when you arrived, with red heart-shaped sunglasses. You sighed as you looked at Liv, she had very nice round breasts, and you thought, how funny and in a way, dirty, the way you two would walk around, being walking temptations to an unknown man.
“Would it be too much to ask Chris to put sunscreen on our backs?” she commented jokingly with a pout and with the bottle of sunscreen in her hand, to which you laughed.
And you both left, grabbing towels, your cell phones, heading towards the backyard at the pool. You took the time to admire the scenery and noticed that a few miles from the large pool was a small pool house. Once again, unable to believe you were in the home of a millionaire and unknown man, about to swim in his pool, it was so unreal, like something that only happened in the movies.
Chris bit his lip as he watched them both, replaying in his mind fuck, over and over again, it was the perfect fantasy, two pretty young twenty-something girls in bikinis at his house, about to enter the pool, getting their young bodies wet. He wasn't being the strongest soldier, and an immensity of dirty thoughts filled him completely. He took one more puff on his cigarette, this time deeper and more intense, trying to keep himself occupied and de-stressed by the incredible desire he had to fuck them both; thinking that it would be a very long and frustrating summer, and that he would end up finishing a pack in minutes if he decided to use nicotine as an escape from his dirty thoughts.
Did he love Ruby? Of course, more than anything in the world, but he was also a man with such an active libido, incredible imagination and great sexual energy. You both noticed him, on the other side of the pool, a little far away, and for some reason you found him more attractive when you saw him smoking. Chris' intention wasn't to see you, he swore, he was just hiding from his girlfriend because she hates his smoking habit. And after meeting you, damn, he really needed a cigarette.
“Hey Chris” Liv greeted him cheerfully waving her hand, to which he responded with a soft smile, raising his eyebrows and his right hand with which he held the cigarette.
She turned to you, “I hate him so much, if he marries Ruby he'll really be my uncle and it'll be gross.”
You smiled apologetically at her sudden comments, but suddenly your mind short circuited, “Marry?”
Liv sat down in one of the chairs, leaning back and relaxing her body, picking up her book ready to rest and read.
“Mmm, honestly I give them two months tops” she added disinterested, “I haven't been aware since I also live in college, but apparently they've been dating since January, I also got a big surprise today when I met him.”
January, you thought, that made them in a six month relationship, pretty long for Ruby. You questioned whether it was really a serious relationship. You pouted and sat on the chair next to her, and convinced yourself that if nothing happened, which was most ideal and the most likely option —plus you were still a virgin— you could at least think about him and have your little summer crush to keep your mind busy.
“Aren't you going to get in the pool?” you asked.
“Mmm yeah, sure, but I want to get some sun.”
You let out an incredulous airy chuckle as Liv was in the shade, not getting any direct sun. And you were about to stand up and swim, but you noticed the sudden and noticeable presence of Chris near you, this time his intentions were clear and not at all innocent, he just wanted to see your semi naked bodies more closely and in detail. He stood in the middle of the two chairs, with his hands in the pockets of his shorts, you watched him, gently lowering your heart shaped sunglasses on the bridge of your nose and raising your eyes.
“Enjoying your summer girls?” he said to which you and Liv nodded a little confused by his sudden closeness, “Do you mind if I join you?”
Liv smiled playfully, closing her book completely, “Of course not” she replied.
But Chris was only looking at you, and you felt it, you had achieved your goal, he couldn't take his eyes off you, off your body in that red bikini and your glossy, full lips. He looked at you expectantly, waiting for an answer from you, which his gaze suddenly made you nervous.
“Sure, join us” was all you could say with your heart pounding.
“I'll be right back” he replied, walking away from you and into his house.
You and Liv looked at each other complicitly, almost feeling like you were about to do something wrong but it felt so right. You didn't understand how you went from somewhat flirtatious and confused, to feeling nervous around him.
“Oh, he's such a fucking whore” Liv added.
She didn't take Chris and Ruby's relationship very seriously, truly. But you were beginning to question so many things, but you couldn't help but want him so badly, you've never been so curious about a man, you wanted him, you needed him.
Minutes later, he appeared, wearing black sport shorts a little loose on his thighs, but tight enough for his member to be suggestively visible and noticeable, again, that was not Chris's intention, he couldn't help but have a nice penis, and that you two had to witness that. In a way you were thankful that you were wearing dark sunglasses and could blatantly see his silhouette, his strong arms and worked chest area over his tight white sleeveless shirt.
You were already in the pool, so Chris joined you, putting on a black cap before getting in and gradually getting in, wetting his body little by little.
“Agh, the water is nice” he added, getting his body completely wet, his marked abs and pecs showing through the thin fabric of the shirt.
Your heart raced again, you couldn't believe Ruby had him every day while you and Liv only had hair loss from the stress of your college. You and Liv stood transfixed watching him, as if it was such an entertaining spectacle. And when he approached, you both snapped out of your trance and pretended to look away, which Chris noticed and smirked, yes he knew he was all handsome and hot, but he was curious to know if you two also considered yourselves that way to such a degree that you dared to flirt with him.
And you began to play mindlessly, ball games, Liv getting on a float, swimming, all with Chris's nerve to watch your wet young bodies, watching the sun beat down on your skins; then you wanted to mimic Liv, getting on a float but found it difficult to get on somehow, to which Chris quickly took advantage, once again leaving Liv surprised.
“Let me help you” he whispered to you, holding your exposed waist to carry you up and onto the float.
Your breathing and heart stopped for a moment, his big hands on your waist felt so good, you couldn't believe he dared to touch you, you didn't want to make it a big deal, you wanted to believe he just did it out of kindness but you were screaming with excitement internally.
A little awkwardly, giving him the view of your ass and thighs, you were able to climb on, shyly whispering thank you. Chris swallowed nervously, your semi-naked skin made him feel good and your ankle accidentally brushed against his member as he lifted you up. He needed another cigarette to forget about you for a few moments, or he definitely had to try you. It wasn't news that, he before Ruby, was quite the gentleman who loved to enjoy the pleasures of sex with different women.
“And don't you have a farm sort of place to spend the winter when it snows?” suddenly blurted out Liv.
“Do you want to spend the winter with me too? Do you like me that much?” he joked.
“Sure, you're the best, Uncle Chris” your cousin replied again in amusement.
He grimaced in disgust, he loved it when girls called him daddy in bed, or just as a form of endearment, when he rarely messed with women relatively much younger to him, but uncle, coming from another young woman who he considered highly attractive, didn't like the idea.
“Uh no, just Chris, please,” and then he turned to you, “And you, you're not directly related to Ruby, are you?”
“She's family, but not by blood” replied Liv innocently, but Chris was a little annoyed, as he wanted to hear you talk , so he still didn't take his expectant gaze off you.
“My father married Ruby's sister” you replied, almost just to humor him and get him to take off that expression of waiting to hear you speak because it was making you nervous.
“I know” he whispered.
And before long you knew a little more about him, that he is an architect with his own company, his parents are two of the top lawyers, that he knows three languages and has a passion for technology like computers or things like that and, the question that gnawed at them both and Liv asked, how did he meet Ruby, as he seemed quite busy and an extremely wealthy and decent man, but just at the mention of her, she appeared. She had taken a nap and suddenly wondered where her boyfriend was, to which her surprise, he was friendly talking to her two young nieces inside the pool, while they were wearing a bikini, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous, but decided to put it aside, and wanted to be a cool aunt:
“Let's give the girls some drinks, they're old enough.”
Chris thought how old enough, looking appreciatively at your body on the float, wearing your red bikini and your heart-shaped glasses of the same color. How old enough were you, that you could handle being with him? He wanted to know more about you and questioned himself why he had never met you before, although his answer was obvious to him, usually Chris didn't look for young and college girls, it was very strange the occasion when he decided to sleep with them and spoil them —as it is one of his techniques— he still considered them so young and naive, even a little bit kooky and spoiled… but you, he bit his lip again, thinking that he could very well be your daddy, and that he would love to spoil you and spank your young ass. He loved being dominant but it was very strange the situation where his mind formulated these ideas of wanting to take care of a naive woman and give her everything, being slightly careful, and you had exactly aroused those thoughts in him.
Ruby also got into the pool, showing off her impressive figure, leaving Chris a little shocked, but he couldn't stop thinking about you. You looked away, unwilling to see them together.
[…]
For the rest of the evening you caught up on Liv's life, as she recounted her sexual encounters, her love life status, her college environment until it was time for dinner.
You couldn't help but think that it didn't matter if you flirted, if anything happened, you wouldn't know what to do and probably wouldn't satisfy him, you were inexperienced and a virgin, which you never made a big deal about it, but for some reason you thought about so many sexual things lately since he awakened your desire.
Dinner was normal and a little strange, eating all together, your last family dinner was maybe on your birthday. And Chris realized that your father and he were the only men, so he thought at one point to invite one of his closest friends, plus he needed him, the tension between you and Chris was growing, or at least his desire for you.
The next morning you went downstairs for breakfast, not even hungry, but you just wanted to see Chris, but he wasn't there since he was supposedly still working and you didn't see him until the afternoon. You took the opportunity to update your swimsuits and take a walk to the beach with Liv. Chris was also confused not to find you at his house, until he saw you arrive with shopping bags.
That evening he convinced his close friend Minho to stay with him too for the summer as Chris had to confess to him the reason and Minho saw with his own eyes and understood why.
Once again you wanted Chris' attention and you had no choice but to go out dressed up all the time, feeling cute, since you kind of sucked at flirting. And you got the pleasant surprise of finding another handsome man next to him.
Chris introduced Minho to you and Liv, and your mind flew with the crazy idea of a man for each other, that maybe so at least Liv would stop thinking about Chris a little bit, because honestly you wanted him for yourself only, when he was already taken, and wasn't yours in the first place. But you weren't the only one with that crazy thought, Liv was so happy that Chris got her own handsome older man to have fun with in the summer.
Minho was also so handsome, he had a muscular body too but his features were softer to Chris'. He also looked intimidating.
The next day was odder, Liv and Minho disappeared, leaving you in disbelief with the ease of things that circumstances work, when both are single, or at least you wanted to believe that Minho was single, or honestly you could care less, at least Liv didn't know his life that much, let alone if he was in a relationship with someone so the guilt didn't exist in her body; but in yours it did, Chris was Ruby's and you couldn't even hate her, your stepmother's whole family was so sweet to you, Dahlia thought you were a real daughter to her because she could never conceive and was afraid to adopt.
You were bored without Liv, you sent her messages but she didn't answer, she must be having a great day in Minho's arms, but lucky her, you thought between sighs; so bored you started to explore the house a bit until you reached a long hallway, at the end of it you saw that there was a family photograph which caught your attention, there were not so many memories of family photos of Chris so it caught your attention and you approached it, next to it there was a large room, which had the door open and you stopped in your tracks when you realized that it was Chris' office, and that he was sitting behind his desk, who quickly heard your footsteps and turned to see you.
You didn't know what to do and smiled nervously at him and he amusedly thought that all ways always led you to him. Chris quickly stood up from his chair, put his pencil aside as he was working on a project and walked dangerously close to you.
“You were looking for me?”
His flirtatious tone and the way he gently raised his eyebrow gave you chills again.
You denied, but you didn't want to get away from him.
“But I found you” you replied.
He invited you in with his gaze, closing the door once you entered, you looked around the place and Chris looked boldly at you. Your young, bare legs with your tiny skirt and your slightly carefree look as you were comfortable in his home.
Chris without thinking, went to his desk and out of habit took a cigarette, he couldn't help it, he was a recurrent smoker, not an addict, but he liked to smoke one or two cigarettes a day, or two cigarettes one day and then quit for several days without a problem, but just now he couldn't think about anything but enjoying your company, your presence and aroma combined with a little of his nicotine.
You thought that even though he smoked and you didn't like the smell, on him, he looked good and you liked him, you liked him so much that you forgot your little inconveniences and thought he didn't smell of cigarettes, he had a strong scent of a manly perfume that you found highly pleasing.
Chris put his cig between his lips and you saw him take another one, thinking he was going to offer you one but you noticed he took a pen and with his big hands, which drove you crazy and you had recurring thoughts of his fingers in your mouth, you saw he wrote a series of numbers on the cigarette; he took a lighter and lit his cigarette quickly, taking his first puff, sucking air between his teeth and then holding the cigarette delicately between his two fingers, then passing you the cigarette with the written numbers and saying to you:
“Do you want it?”
You took it, only to see the numbers on what you quickly noticed was a phone number and before he took the lighter once more you said, “I don't smoke.”
“Well, that's my phone number, since apparently it looks a little bad for us to be together and we need to be more discreet.”
Your mind stopped processing what he said, he inhaled again from the cigarette, exhaling all the smoke, losing it in the bright sunlight coming through the windows, he looked so fucking hot your legs were almost starting to shake, he walked over to you and put his free hand on your waist.
“Let's have fun this summer, I know you want me and I can't get you out of my fucking head” he spoke and you felt it unreal, for a moment you stopped thinking about everyone, it was just Chris and you, fuck the rest, “Relax a little with me, I don't bite unless you ask me to” he whispered, leaning into your ear, noticing your tense body.
He pulled away, stubbing out his cigarette in his ashtray and sitting back in his chair.
“Come here” he ordered patting his thigh.
He was wearing a white button up shirt and black formal cloth pants, you were so wet at his appearance, you were wet knowing he was older than you and dressed elegantly, you were wet at the way he asked you to sit on his lap.
Chris couldn't take it anymore, from the first night he met you, after seeing you so provocative in your bikini, he masturbated thinking about you, pulling and stroking his cock hard, filling his mind with scenarios where you were all needy, wet, making a mess and begging for him, until he cummed. He couldn't even fuck his girlfriend, his cock only reacted to you apparently. He needed you, all day he thought about how his friend did get to fuck the other girl with no problem while he was stuck there, but not anymore as you happily sat on his lap, feeling so happy, feeling the friction of fabric of his pants on your thighs as you moved to get comfortable, causing him tenderness at your reaction.
“Mmm, I guess you want it too by obey me, don't you babygirl?” he murmured, caressing your thighs and making you shiver.
Your mind spun like crazy, wanting what what, you didn't know but yes, you needed him like you had never needed anyone, your mind was lost in his closeness and that it's finally happening. You really tried to be strong too, but you lost it. He was caressing you, bringing his hands up tentatively so high almost in your intimate zone.
“Yes…” you answered in a whisper.
“Then just kiss me, babygirl, I'm dying to taste your lips since the first moment I saw you.”
You turned your face and met the closeness of his, without thinking too much, you joined your lips with his, feeling his slight cigarette taste together with a soft and fresh sensation, your hand shyly rested from his shoulder, your inside was burning, you felt as if fireworks were detaching inside you. At first it was sweet and gentle, but then he changed his pace to something slower but desperate and lustful, opening your mouth and feeling his expert tongue caress your cavity, leaving you breathless but addicted to the feel of each other.
Chris found his way to your pussy, opening your legs slightly and without wasting time, he pushed the fabric of your panties aside, playing with your clit, making you gasp and take a moment away from his lips. You were now focused on his fingertips caressing you.
Chris licked his lips, leering at you and admiring the slight trembling of your body from pleasure. By this point, he too was already so hard with an erection protruding from his pants.
“You're so wet and needy, let me take care of you” he moaned.
You were almost about to cum with his caresses on your clit, his movements on it, his light pinching and pressure towards it, turning you on so much, but his fingers went down your wet folds, in search of your entrance and, you realized what he would do, it still surprised and hurt a little to feel two of his fingers inside you. You moaned louder at the sensation of his digits sliding into your virgin hole, as did Chris who let out a groan, unable to believe you were so tight, even being in that position, sitting on his lap, there was no reason for your insides to squeeze his fingers so tight, he had never felt a pussy like that before, like yours, he love every second of it, he was obsessed.
“Fuck” blubbered Chris, “You like that, don't you, little doll?”
You whimpered high pitched in response, his fingers began to penetrate you and his thumb went back to caressing your clit and labia, making you feel like you had never felt before. You were so hot, you wanted to strip off all your clothes and feel something bigger fill your pussy, you were a mess, moaning and shivering at his hand on your cunt.
“Tell daddy how much you like it, babygirl, call me daddy when I'm touching so good your pussy” he gasped.
“Yes, daddy I love it, please don't stop” you whimpered in a squeak, feeling your orgasm so close as your heart pounded intensely.
Your first orgasm caused by a man. Daddy, daddy, daddy, you thought it fit him so well, he was older than you, and you could tell he liked to be in control. He could command you whatever he wanted, he could be in charge, your panties got wetter as you fantasized about how dominant he was. He was so hard, analyzing every part of you and enjoying your body fading for him.
You were about to cum, your pussy moistening Chris's fingers more and more, your thighs quivering and the feeling of clenching in your stomach, you were so close… but the sound of heels down the hall and door handle turning startled you too much, Chris removed his fingers from you abruptly, hurting you a little but you stood up instantly, adjusting your skirt and resting your hands on his desk, turning your back to the door. Chris picked up a book that was on his desk, opened it and held it with his hand whose fingers were touching you earlier, over his cock, at an angle where you couldn't see his erection and the small wet spot you left on his pants.
“Hey” you heard and turned your body, hiding the cigarette and found Ruby all smiles but then grimaced, “Fuck, Chris, did you smoke here? Anyways, Liv and Minho arrived with the shoppings, should I start the… grill?”
You and Chris simultaneously looked at each other, looking scared and guilty.
“No, it's okay baby, I'll go downstairs in a minute.”
“Oh, you found each other, didn't you” Ruby added, leaving you confused, “Y/n it's a little artist too, she draws and paints well” she confirmed, referencing that Chris was doing a sketch.
He didn't know that and wanted to know more about you. But fate was not in your favor this time.
“Are you okay, honey, you're sweating and look a little red?” said Ruby worriedly.
You were so wet and hot, your fluids bothered you, but you had to pretend to be okay, so much so that you went outside pretending nothing was wrong, watching the stupid grill burn, almost as much as your insides, you kept fantasizing if Ruby hadn't interrupted you what would have happened, maybe you would have tasted and had another piece of meat in your mouth before the one Minho was cooking.
You watched him, who stood next to Minho, looking manly grilling the meat. Chris had changed his clothes, now wearing jeans and a black sleeveless shirt. You felt a little jealous that you didn't even want to ask Liv if anything happened with Minho, you wanted your own moment with Chris no matter what. Chris noticed your look and in a whisper said to his friend:
“I kissed her and touched her.”
“Woah, good for you dude, what did I tell you about college girls? They are all trouble makers but they know how to take care of you very well” Minho encouraged him smilingly, giving him a friendly pat.
“But we were interrupted and now I feel guilty, I don't think I should have done it…”
You took your phone and amidst impatience, texted him, just telling him Hey and watched as he immediately pulled his phone out of his pocket, seeing the message but ignored it.
“My sexual fantasy is a threesome with Minho and Chris, imagine their two cocks pleasuring you. I'm kinda horny right now” Liv spoke as if nothing, seeing herself on her cell phone camera, snapping you out of your trance.
So were you. In fact she was talking but you weren't paying attention, you weren't that greedy, Chris's cock was really enough for you.

It was late at night, everyone was sleeping, but you noticed the pool house light on through the window, you didn't know what it was about, but you were thankful that you were a little lazy to remove your makeup and quietly put your clothes back on, taking off your pajamas, with the slightest hope that, maybe it was Chris being alone, or in the worst case, him with his girlfriend.
You texted him but he didn't respond and you were impatient so you carefully went downstairs quietly and managed to get outside, walking up to the property and slowly entered the house, which was literally another house, just a little smaller. And you found Chris with his back turned sitting in the chairs leaning against the kitchen counter.
He turned to see who it was and smiled broadly at the sight of you. You also noticed that he was drinking and smoking, or at least you saw a couple of cigarettes in the ashtray and apparently he was alone. You approached him, so excited with adrenaline at its peak to see that he could be all by himself. He smiled at you, so wide that he narrowed his eyes, he wasn't expecting you but he was just thinking about you, he couldn't sleep, you drove him crazy, when he saw you, it seemed almost like a dream since he was starting to get a little drunk.
You sat down on the chair next to him and noticed his almost empty glass of hard liquor.
“What are you doing here?” you whispered to him.
“I'm just… drinking a little” he replied, his tone of voice low and almost slurring his words.
“By yourself?”
“Minho just left, wanna join me?”
You shook your head softly, you really didn't want to drink, you wanted to kiss him passionately, and more so knowing you were alone. But Chris went there because he couldn't sleep and he kept thinking about it in that he felt a little guilty but at the same time he wanted to do so many things to you, you looked innocent, you were young and his deepest desire was to corrupt you so badly.
You decided to get bold and just blurted out:
“Why don't we continue what we were doing… I didn't get to cum.”
Chris let out a chuckle in disbelief at your comment and analyzed you, from your face with your makeup intact, to your thighs uncovered by your skirt with very easy access to him.
“Who would have thought, you look so innocent… but you are quite the dirty little whore. You want me to make you cum, huh?”
His comment made your skin bristle and gave you shivers, both for your body, and for your pussy, causing it to twinge with arousal in your sensitive core. Everything about him turned you on so much.
“Yes…”
“And what will you do for me?” he asked so quickly as soon as you answered, looking at you defiantly.
You stood there thinking for a few seconds, "You want… me to make you cum too?" you spoke uncertainly.
“I wanna see it” he challenged you, “I like you a lot” he confessed, getting carried away with the moment and the alcohol doing its thing.
You smiled, stood up from the chair and moved closer to him, Chris turned his body and let position yours between his legs, you wrapped your arms around his neck, he grabbed your waist and you, close to his lips, reciprocated his confession.
“I like you a lot too, Chris.”
He smiled, coming back to all his senses, leaving the effect of the alcohol aside, so awake and ready for you, he raised his eyebrows, wanting to correct you, lowering his hands to your ass, you understood immediately.
“I like you, daddy” you repeated.
“That's my good girl.”
You felt your body burn on fire, that had sounded so good to you, more so coming from his voice and him. You moved in with a smile to kiss him, savoring the taste of the liquor on his full lips, spending long minutes of him running down your body and both of you completely lost in each other's lips, feeling his tongue and nose collide on your face, kissing was such an intimate act, something you loved to do with Chris, whose erection in his pants grew sky high, his throbbing cock ready to be used.
Chris couldn't take it anymore, he wanted your pretty mouth around his cock, he wanted to fuck your throat until he made you cry. As he pulled away he admired your heaving breathing and swollen lips, he thought this was just the beginning of more to come.
“Fuck” he whispered with a little pain from his erection stuck in his jeans.
You watched him, for a few seconds somewhat transfixed and realized he was just as turned on as you were, you stared at the bulge in his pants, not wanting to wait any longer to get his cock out at once, but he went ahead to say.
“C'mon babygirl, feel how hard daddy is for you, and make me feel good, be a good girl.”
You got so excited, as if you had won a prize and lowered your arms off his shoulders so you could feel his hard member between the also tough denim of his jeans. You bit your lip and unbuttoned his pants. Chris gasped, breathing raggedly knowing you were about to attend to his cock. You finally released it, wanting to experience everything with it and getting the big surprise of how nice and big it looked, just as veiny as his arms. You took it, completely forgetting that you were a poor college virgin girl and, that he would most likely end up fucking you and you couldn't agree more, you could remember that your virginity was taken by a man who knows what he's doing, millionaire, incredibly handsome with a colossal cock to die for.
You stroked his glans with your thumb and spread his precum over his length, it was your first time feeling a penis in your hand, for the moment, at least Chris's, it felt so good, its texture was smooth but his muscle was so tight and rigid. Chris for his part, gasped enjoying the feel of your hands on his cock and watched you look so impressed, almost as if you were studying every part of his anatomy, making you look a little more innocent but daring.
You acted with common sense, and began to slide your hands up and down his member, stroking his length from top to bottom, making him feel great. Chris bit his lip and inhaled air between his teeth, so excited he could cum right then and there. He didn't know exactly how to ask you, but he really wanted your mouth on his cock.
“Babygirl, use your mouth please, please” Chris babbled, caressing your face, admiring it before it was ruined by his cock in your mouth and the constant motion.
Your pussy throbbed harder at the thought of sucking him off and you dropped to your knees, unconsciously sighing nervously, making Chris feel the warm air of your sigh, now giving him shivers of pure arousal.
You looked into his eyes before bringing his cock closer to your mouth, to which he looked at you approvingly, subtly shaking his head encouraging you to do so.
You stuck out your tongue and licked his entire length, losing more and more strength, you were so aroused, trembling and twitching with your hot body, until he said,
“Open your mouth wide, baby doll.”
He helped you a little, guiding his cock into your mouth, finally slowly pushing it in, doing your best to make him enjoy it, which you felt a knot in your stomach of nervousness and excitement as Chris moaned loudly, letting you know you were getting off to a good start. He fisted your hair, completely ready to be satisfied.
You sucked his cock, sucking your cheeks and giving your best effort to get as much of his length as you could deep inside your cavity. Chris moaned again incredibly enjoying the also tightness of your mouth and softness of the inside of your cheeks. He watched you the whole time, your lips wrapped around his cock, the tender expression of concentration and struggle on your face, he could cum just from the image of you taking his length.
You started to move, his whole member didn't fit in your cavity, but you did your best, your eyes were starting to bother you a little, you were starting to form little tears, your nose got slick and your jaw hurt a little, but it was worth it, it was so worth it, Chris's moans were so hot to you that you never wanted to stop. You began to move your mouth, taking as much as you could, making Chris lose his sanity little by little, he helped you, pulling on your hair gently and pushing your head to move up and down exquisitely. Your movements were imperfect but from your little details Chris became more aroused and fantasized about your innocence again.
Your saliva combined with his precum began to slip from your lips and you took a breath, pulling his cock out of your mouth, Chris took advantage and quickly stood up from his chair, you looked with confusion at his action and he lifted your chin with his fingers, making you stare into his eyes.
“You're doing great, good girl, but let daddy fuck your throat, are you okay with that?”
Your eyes sparkled brighter despite the little tears you shed, you were scared but nodded so excited. “Yes, daddy” you said.
Chris took his cock almost by its base and opened his mouth slightly indicating you to do the same, causing you tenderness, and you did, his cock and your mouth meeting again, inserting it little by little, until you felt his skin tickle your uvula, your body shuddered, you closed your eyes tightly, he was huge, but you tried to hold back with all your might your gag reflex, Chris shifted his hips and finally you felt his cock sliding down your throat, taking him pure to heaven, you thought of everything, of Chris swimming next to you, of you sitting on his lap, trying to forget the slight discomfort and tingling that his penis was causing in your throat. Chris gasped loudly, and began to move gently, ramming into you, completely filled with sexual pleasure at the feel of his cock inside another strategic spot of yours.
You looked up at him, your watery eyes begging for mercy, your body was weak and your stomach sensitive; you cried harder, drooling non-stop, dripping his testicles and even the floor; unable to breathe or speak, just his balls rubbing against your face, his pubic area bumping against your nose and his cock stretching your throat, with his glans rubbing against your esophagus. You were doing so well, for your first time, and Chris was so happy to remind you of it, moaning senselessly completely lost amidst the pleasure, babbling swear words and whimpering, “You feel so good, babygirl, I'm gonna cum in your throat sweetie.”
But you felt so good, in desperation and helpless, with nothing to do but obey him and make him feel good, your pussy throbbed harder and harder, with the same intensity of an orgasm but you weren't sure if you were about to cum.
You felt Chris's body tremble, a loud gasp escaped his lips and you felt the shot of his hot cum inside your pharynx, he was having a wonderful orgasm like he had never had before, even making him shudder and lose his sanity and consciousness; Chris gently tugged at your hair, gently pulling his cock out of you so as not to hurt you, while he kept collapsing in his orgasm, cumming still on your tongue inside your mouth, spilling a few drops around your mouth.
“Good girl, swallow everything, there you go, good princess” he spoke softly caressing your face, watching you swallow hard and with heavy breathing “C'mon up here. Look at you, your face is a mess, my pretty baby. So fucked up for daddy's cock.”
He smirked at the sight of your face stained red, your cheeks shiny from your tears and your lips dirty and swollen from him.
You stood up and Chris wiped your chin stained in his cum with his thumb and then slipped it into your mouth, which you sucked it hard.
“Let's go to the room” he spoke excitedly, arranging his cock in his underwear and pants to take you by your wrist and lead you to the room.
You were surprised that it could practically be a small apartment with all the amenities with no problem and once you entered his room, he kissed you wildly again, tasting his own cum, feeling the wetness of your lips, and began to undress you, yanking off your skirt, parting from you to remove your top and bra and leaving the best part of taking off your panties at the end.
Chris bit his lip as he slid your panties off, bending down and placing soft kisses on your lower belly all the way down to your mons pubis.
“Fuck, you're beautiful, babydoll.”
He kissed your skin, to then put his warm tongue in and sticking his lips tightly to finally suck, leaving a mark on you and making you gasp softly, he looked up, searching your gaze, leering at you playfully, he couldn't believe he finally had you all to himself. Chris stood back up and quickly began to undress as well, leaving you dumbfounded at how incredibly attractive he looked as he lifted his strong arms to remove his shirt, unbuttoning his pants and nimbly removing his them along his underwear, as you finally stood naked in front of each other, with his prominent and slightly intimidating cock exposed, it dawned on you that, it was tonight the night you would lose your virginity.
He leaned close to your ear, whispering hotly, “I want your pretty pussy in my face, sit on daddy's face princess, please.”
You shivered and watched as Chris lay back on the bed, you quickly followed him, biting your lip unsure how you would do it, but completely sure what it was all about. You climbed onto the bed and positioned your pussy in his mouth, embarrassed to let yourself fall into it, but you did, giving a little jump of shock as you felt his tongue on your vulva, Chris took hold of your thighs, to lift you up and guide your pussy to his liking and disposal. You felt his fleshy lips kiss the full length of your folds and his big nose squeezing your vulva hard each time he gently shifted positions in your pussy, making the sensation a hundred times better. Chris licked and sucked intensely and thoroughly on your clit, making your thighs quiver in desperation and pleasure, you were so close but for some reason the sensation of your near orgasm was dragging on longer and longer, building up in intensity; Chris slid his tongue, licking your labia and reaching your entrance, sucking making a soft, sonorous slurping sound of your soaking wet pussy. You were on cloud nine, completely out of thoughts, your vision blurred and enjoying your first oral sex, with an older man who was an expert at every single thing he did, you couldn't have asked for anything better.
Chris lifted you up a little and said:
“Ride me, babygirl, fuck my tongue, move over, fuck.”
Then inserted his tongue inside you, making you gasp loudly, even his tongue was reaching a sweet spot in you that made you lose your mind again. You began to move, back and forth, enjoying the sensation of him; you threw your head back with your eyes rolling, Chris caressed your breasts with one hand, pinching your nipples, then bringing that hand quickly to his cock, as it was twitching, and ached a little, Chris stroked his cock and cum intensely in his abs. Sliding scattered drops down his length. Boy had he loved eating you and the delicious taste of your young fluids.
Finally, you came to your orgasm too, so intensely that you felt sorry for yourself at the thought that maybe you had made a mess on Chris. But he was so happy, tasting every drop of you. Awkwardly, you went down on top of him, and dropped your exhausted body on the bed, with the slightest idea that maybe it still left him wanting to fuck you… still you reminded him:
“That was great, daddy, th-thank you.”
Your chest heaved up and down, your world was a blur, the sensations were so new and good to you that your delicate body was exhausted.
“Oh, my pretty baby,” Chris said tenderly.
He sat up, wiping his mouth and chin, parting your legs and positioning his face dangerously in front of your pussy. A mischievous grin formed on his face.
“I'm gonna fuck your pretty pussy, baby, daddy's not done with you yet.”
Chris went back to stroking your clit with his fingertips, getting you wet in seconds. He watched you, panting and a mess for quite a while but Chris wouldn't stop until he felt your guts. An electric shiver ran down your spine, Chris stopped stroking your clit, spit on your vulva, positioned himself and took his erection, rubbing and stroking in your folds his hard length in your puffy, well lubricated pussy, making you more needy until at last, you felt his tip slide into your orifice, stretching every muscle at your entrance, gradually filling your insides, causing Chris to whimper halfheartedly at the sensation of your core deliciously smothering his cock. You gasped in pain and pleasure until you felt his glans tingle deep inside you in your cervix, Chris finally popped your cherry that night. You were a woman now, at least in a context of traditional and conservative phrases, wishing you were his woman every day.
You were a little sore, but so excited, you still asked him, “Da-dddy, can you move slow, please?”
He smiled tenderly at you, “Whatever my babydoll asks.”
His cock was buried in your core and Chris began to gently ram your pussy, kissing you slowly on the lips and moving his caresses down to your neck, it felt so good and when you finally felt you had gotten used to and adjusted to his size, you shyly asked him:
“F-faster daddy, please” you stammered.
Chris smiled sideways and started ramming you deeper and faster, sliding carelessly into your walls, making you gasp in pain but it felt so good, his cock filling every inch of you, you couldn't help but feel haunted by the sensation. Your thighs squeezed his body and your body began to move uncontrollably, your breasts jiggled roughly at each thrust and your insides burned with desire and for his big new visitor. His body collided with yours non-stop, you were breathless, aching and about to cum intensely.
Chris was babbling and moaning things you couldn't understand, he was so close to cumming in you, completely fixated on your insides squeezing his cock. You arched your back, contracting your body, ready to release in your second orgasm.
“Cum for me, fuck, cum on daddy's cock. You like that huh? You like to be fucked hard?”
“Fuuuck, daddy yesss” you squealed, cumming and wetting his cock.
You fell down in surrender, Chris rammed you a couple of times, deeper to climax in you, with the sensation of his cum shot hitting your cervix. Chris pulled out of you, admiring the dirty artistry of your little hole quivering and spurting his bright white cum. Getting him hard in seconds again. Satisfying him so much by leaving you so weak.
“And I'm not done yet, princess.”
You blinked suddenly and Chris grabbed your arm, making you turn around, he opened your folds, exposing your newly destroyed hole, still wet in each other's cum and, he pushed his cock back into you, making you whimper, you were barely recovering when you felt the firmness of his huge cock again in your walls, this time he went in fast, his whole cock, ramming into your pussy, hitting your ass because you didn't even have time to settle, you were lying down, face down, panting and somehow, extremely aroused again.
Chris pounded you hard again, so brutal and primal releasing every frustration of his in your weak body, ramming you hard, making your ass vibrate every time his pelvis and balls collapsed into you. He moved in on you, his arm headlocking you, tightening his grip harder and harder, cutting off your breath slowly without stopping thrusting hard into you.
“You like that, don't you sweet baby? Fuck! You feel so good.”
You couldn't even answer him, besides the fact that he was slowly suffocating you, you couldn't think clearly, you only heard his gasps, yours and the sound of your bodies colliding at such a frantic act. You were so close, just as he was, your breathing was completely cut off, you heard his panting close to your ear, this time you trembled more intensely, and your vision blurred more, begging for air, but in desperation, you cum intensely, almost making yourself cry. Chris softened his grip, letting you catch your breath and cum in you again, spurting out quickly and ejaculating a few loads in your ass.
You couldn't take it anymore. You even forgot your name. You could only remember Chris, who pushed your hair aside and kissed your back.
“That was amazing, beautiful. We're going to have a really fun summer.”
He couldn't help but think of all the ways he wanted to fuck you, treating you like a doll, showering you with pampering afterwards, but damn it, he had to break up with his girlfriend.
You were trying to come back to your senses, but you were so tired and could only think that, somehow, you loved him, and didn't know exactly why.

...AND EVERY CHRISTMAS AFTER — o.so
Tumblr media
PAIRING oh sion x fem!reader ── .✦ GENRE childhood friends to lovers, fluff, very mild angst ── .✦ WARNINGS just kissing, the most fluff i've ever written ── .✦ SYNOPSIS in which you’ve spent every christmas growing up with sion, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spend every christmas after with him too. ── .✦ A/N this is my entry for the @k-films 2024 advent calendar! ── .✦ WC 1.4k+
Tumblr media
⋆⁺₊❅.─ 25th december 2024, 11:27am
It’s Christmas day, and the whole house is alive and in a hurry. Shouts of “mom, where’s my sweater?” and “get out! I need to use the bathroom!” fill the air, drowning out George Michael’s voice in Last Christmas as it plays from the living room speakers. Frantic relatives rush through the hallways past fairy lights and fake wreaths to get ready for the guests to arrive. It’s the first year in your life that the guests haven’t stayed over on Christmas eve.
“Y/N, can you make me hot chocolate?” shouts Sakuya from the floor above. “Why would I?” you reply to the brother in question. “I’ll do your dishes tonight.” “Deal.”
While you stir away at the two cups of hot chocolate in front of you, it becomes difficult to get your mind off the foreboding you’d felt in the pit of your stomach since waking up that day. You love your family, you really do. Winter break has been beyond fun with your cousins in town. But just this once you wish you could spend Christmas at your friend’s party instead. Just so you could avoid him. You still don’t have it in you to face him. Not after last December.
Almost as if your thoughts hold summoning powers, the doorbell rings, “Kids, come to the living room, they’re here!”
You walk out of the kitchen to face the family of your mother’s best friend, including her son: Oh Sion. The boy you hadn’t seen since new years, when you took a chance and kissed him and he didn't kiss back. The boy who stared back in disbelief after you pulled away which was more than enough to add to your mortification. The boy you’d made every effort to avoid all year.
Tumblr media
⋆⁺₊❅.─ 24th december 2016, 7:54pm
“They’re so stupid, why would they use that door?”
“The point of the movie is that they’re stupid Sion.”
“Okay, but-”
Before the argument you’re having over Home Alone can go on any longer, your mother shushes both of you, “be quieter, everyone else is trying to watch the movie too.”
You lock eyes with Sion and then both of you turn back to your mother, “Now you’re just lying mom.”
“Yeah Mrs.L/N, it’s a kids movie, none of the adults here care. Not even you.”
“And Saku isn’t even old enough to know what’s going on.”
Your mother reopens her mouth as if to say something, but then seems to change her mind, smiling at the two of you and shaking her head. The two of you turn back to the movie as she turns to Sion’s mom, saying something about how no matter how much the pair of you bickered, you had a habit of standing up for yourselves together. If nine-year-old you cared to listen, you would have heard them say they hoped you two stayed this way forever.
It’s Christmas eve, you’re sitting next to a boy you would realise you loved 5 years later, and your mothers already think you are meant to be.
Tumblr media
⋆⁺₊❅.─ 25th december 2024, 12:02pm
Since he got here, you had avoided eye contact, excused yourself to finish making hot chocolate, excused yourself to go to the bathroom, excused yourself to set up the lunch table. Alas, there were only so many excuses you could make before being forced to sit in the living room with everyone else. By some Christmas miracle, when you got there the only open seat was the one right next to Sion.
Sion shifted to the side, making more space for you to sit, but instead you maneuvered yourself to sit on the carpeted floor right next to the Christmas tree. You manage to get through a lot of the wait time before lunch by eating candy, drinking your hot chocolate, only speaking when asked a question (usually “yes my studies are going great” or “yes, I've started looking at a few colleges”), and most importantly by looking everywhere except at him. Yet, your mother just had to shatter your nearly flawless streak of avoidance.
“Y/N, why don’t you get some hot chocolate for Sion too?”
Tumblr media
⋆⁺₊❅.─ 25th december 2021, 1:27am
“Shhh, they’ll hear!” you whisper-yelled at him.
“I didn’t even say anything!”
You just shook your head in response and reached over to redirect the light from the phone in his hand to the stairs in front of you, tiptoeing down, hoping the wood underfoot won’t creak. The boy next to you grabs your hand with his free one, pulling the two of you closer together than you were before. You stare at the hands and then at his face.
Sion leans to reach your ear to whisper, “I thought I heard something from upstairs.”
All you do is nod in response and continue carefully making your way down. Sion’s face stays close to yours, his hand continues to envelope your own.
You reach the entrance to the kitchen at the bottom of the stairs, turning on its lights. Sion takes his hand off yours, coughing awkwardly as he moves away and turns off his phone's flashlight. You head to the shelf in the furthest corner, getting on your toes in an attempt to reach the cookies right at the top. Sion approaches from behind leaning over you to reach the cookies easily. The gesture and the proximity make your fourteen-year-old heart flutter.
He takes a seat on the floor, placing the cookies down, just as you do the same with the cola you pulled out of the fridge.
“I can’t imagine a Christmas without you. Or uh- you know. Without all of this,” he says quietly.
“Me neither,” you respond, just as quietly.
It’s Christmas day, you’re sitting on your kitchen floor with a boy, and you’re beginning to realise you may not just have a silly crush on him. You might just be in love.
Tumblr media
⋆⁺₊❅.─ 25th december 2024, 12:27pm
The kitchen has always been just out of earshot of the main living room area. The voices of both of your families fade into the background as the two of you walk in, the rapid beating of your heart becoming louder by the second and filling your ears. You start making the hot chocolate as he leans on the counter next to you, trying (and failing) to meet your eyes.
“You’ve been avoiding me. Not just today, all year. Since new year’s.”
“I don’t really want to talk about new year’s.”
“Hm?” he hums with a questioning tone.
You stop stirring, finally meeting his eyes, “It was just- you know. A mistake. Drank a little too much. Won’t happen again.”
“We only had one beer each that night. I know your tolerance is higher than that. And I’d like it to happen again.”
There’s a pause. You process what he’s just said to you. Sion can tell by the look on your face that the cogs are turning in your head and a smirk begins to form on his face.
“Oh.”
He nods, then after another pause you continue, “But you didn’t kiss back.”
“Because I was surprised! You’ve got to give a guy a second to figure out what’s going on before you assume the worst,” he shakes his head in mock disappointment while he smiles at your stunned expression, “I was surprised you liked me back.”
“You liked me?” “I might actually be in love with you.”
“Oh,” your voice now reduced to a whisper out of shock, “I might be in love with you too.”
Now your body turns to face him fully, just as his hand moves to your cheek. He leans down, his lips meeting yours as your hands go to his sides, grabbing his sweater. You’ve kissed people before but with Sion it’s different (especially when he kisses back). You pull apart for breath, “Ok now this is our first kiss, the new year's one doesn't count.” You laugh in response, “Deal.”
Sion engulfs you in a hug, the warm kind he’s always given you. His arms wrap around your waist as yours encircle his neck. As you hug the two of you confess how much you missed each other all year. When the hug breaks he kisses you again and you can feel the smile on his lips.
All of a sudden your attention is brought back to your previous task, realising the hot chocolate must be getting cold. Sion watches you with adoration in his eyes as you turn back to the counter to finish stirring. The adoration has always been there, you’re just beginning to notice it.
It’s christmas day, you’re standing in your kitchen with the boy you love, and you finally know he loves you just the same. You’re excited for new years day, and every christmas after, because each one will be spent with him.

John Price who hadn't ever considered the idea of getting married even after figuring out he's bi. In the years he and Nik were together it still held only a dim interest to him, and he knew it wasn't necessarily what Nik would have preferred, but they never butted heads over it. Nik would ask about it every few years or so, but never with much seriousness from what John could tell.
Suddenly, it's been three years since Phillip showed up and wormed his way into their relationship, and John's been... thinking. He's seen how happy Phillip is to have partners in them, and he knows Nik is in second Heaven about it. But he's also still seeing people approach them both when they're out at night, and hell, he's had to fend off advances too. It bothers him.
He caves. Fine, maybe he's still not 100% sure about the whole marriage thing, and it's not like 3 people can get married anywhere they live anyhow. But no one needs to get married just to wear rings, he tells himself as he carefully wraps the pair of small boxes while Nik and Phillip are out of the flat.
He knows it was the right thing to do when he watches Phillip's face light up like Christmas. Nik stares at his gift for a second before shaking his head and muttering something in Russian and disappearing into their bedroom. John has a few seconds to get a little nervous before Nik returns--with a small cardboard box that he puts down firmly in front of John.
Nik folds his arms and gestures for him to open it, so he does. Phillip bursts out laughing, and John puts his head in his hand while Nik explains to Phillip.
"I have been asking this ridiculous man about marriage every few years now for over a DECADE. And he says not interested! Not interested!!"
"How long have you had this?" John asks quietly, staring at the gold and silver band.
"NINE FUCKING YEARS, MY LOVE. Just in case you change your mind, you impossible man! But here! You do this?? Without so much as dropping hints??" He gestures to the gold band sitting in his gift box and the black and silver one already in Phillip's hands. "Unbelievable. Kate will be die laughing at me. Are you happy? She will die, John--"
"I didn't know!"
“It’s been so long…”
“Nik…”
“I’ve waited so long for this- My heart can’t handle this!”
“Nikolai-“
“I knew I’d have to wait for you to make the move but fuck I didn’t think it would take you this long!”
“Stop being dramatic- Phil breathe-“

12 Days of Steddie-Mas
Day 3:
I’ll be home on the 23rd
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Waiting by the phone, Steve watched the TV broadcast of the show. Corroded Coffin had completely blown up in the last year. They managed to get one song on the radio and it seems like the stations just can't turn them off. Their small venue tour had to quickly be upgraded to arenas and more dates added. They've sold out every show. Steve couldn’t be more proud of Eddie, this is everything he’s ever dreamed of. He does miss him, of course he does. Steve had prepared for three months apart, so when it turned into six months and then nine, he was just a bit shocked. Eddie had promised to call every night and he has yet to break this promise. Sometimes they are short and sweet, usually when STeve has to be at the school early the next morning. Other times they last for hours, Eddie so full of adrenaline that he just spews out anything he thinks about, and Steve is just happy to listen.
About a month ago Eddie called to strike a deal.
“Stevie baby,” He drawled into the phone hesitantly.
Steve sighed into his end, “Eds, don’t start like that.”
“I just want to get the bad stuff out of the way!”
“What happened?”
“They want us to do a live show on Thanksgiving”
“And?” Steve presses, knowing there’s always more.
“And— a live show right before Christmas.”
“Ed—”
“But I have a deal for you!” Eddie interrupts, trying to smooth the situation.
“What is it?”
“We do the shows, but I'm home by the 24th and stay through New Years. The last show is in February, so after that we are doing nothing, for a whole year Stevie.”
This piqued Steve’s interest, “A whole year? You sure you wouldn’t get bored?”
“Jeff and Gareth both agreed, we all need a fucking break. We want a year just to be normal again,” Eddie sighs, “It’s not like we won't write music or hang out or have small jam sessions together, there’s just no pressure to do it. I want to be with you sweetheart, I hate waking up and not seeing you there next to me.”
Steve smiles into the phone, “Well I’ll never complain about seeing you, but I don’t want you to give this up.”
”We’re not stopping, it's just— a pause, a moment to fucking breathe.”
“So the 24th?” Steve checks.
“The 24th.” Eddie confirms.
“See then, Eds.
“See you soon, baby.”
So here’s he was, December 22nd, watching his rockstar boyfriend shread on stage. He smiles as Eddie jumps aroun the stage, messing with Gareth and Jeff, showmanship on full blast.
The rockstar leans into the mic, “For our last song, as always, I’m going to dedicate this to the love of my life,” he says looking directly into the camera, “Be home soon baby.”
The crowd erupts.
Gareth leans into his own mic, “Awe, Eddie you sap.”
Jeff joins in on the teasing, “Eddie, stop over compensating, everyone knows they love me more than you.”
Eddie laughs and shakes his head, “You two are impossible to work with.” He starts playing the opening notes as the crowd roars.
He wrote the song years ago for Steve. When they finally got a record deal, it was the only song Eddie really cared about making it on the record.
“I want the whole world to know how much I love you.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re mine for life sweetheart.”
Everytime he hears the crowd singing along it brings tears to his eyes. He’s seen couples dance to it at weddings, getting proposed to it during concerts, making cute videos to it. Love speaks to all. He loves how their love is so fully on display. Even though Steve has asked Eddie to keep his name and identity a secret to the public, that doesn’t stop him from constantly talking about how much he loves Steve at every chance he gets.
Eddipe wraps the concert up waving goodbye to the crowd, “Happy Holidays everyone! See you in January!”
Not more than an hour later Steve’s phone starts to ring.
“Hey there Rockstar,” Steve says into the receiver.
“Hey there lover,” Eddie yells through the line.
Steve yanks the phone away from his ear at the volume, “Jesus, Eddie, no need to scream,” he scolds half heartedly.
“I’m just happy to talk to you,” Eddie says now in a normal volume.
“I’m happy to talk to you too.”
“Excited to see you in two days.”
“Well I’m excited to see Gareth more,” Steve teases.
Eddie huffs, “Yeah right, I know I’m your favorite, even if you won’t admit it.”
They talk for a bit. Steve goes on about how crazy all the kids were on the last day of school. How his usual go to was a Christmas movie day, but he wanted to be different this year. So he set up games and crafts and music. And now he has a headache. Note to self, stick with the movies next year. Eddie talks about how Steve works too hard, which Steve shoots right back at him. They both work themselves to the bone, but there is nothing in the world either of them would rather do. It just feels harder when they are apart. Steve asks what Eddie wants as his welcome home dinner and of course it was something dirty that cannot be repeated.
Steve yawns into the phone sometime around one in the morning.
“I’ll let you get to bed baby, see you in a few days,” Eddie says softly.
“Love you, Eds.”
“Love you more, Stevie.”
———————————
The next day Steve cleaned the whole house top to bottom, every corner and nook and cranny. He scrubbed and whipped and washed until there was nothing left to polish in the house. His excitement kept him running and he needed an outlet. After the house was sparkling he wrapped the last of the presents. Steve wanted Eddie to come home to a perfect house. Even though he would go through it like a tornado, Steve didn’t care that it would get ruined immediately. He needed to keep his mind busy. Otherwise he would pace around the house just counting the seconds till Eddie came home.
Eddie.
Eddie.
Eddie.
His brain repeats on a loop. There was no way he could actually be productive outside of the house, so he stayed inside and perfected their home.
The doorbell rings and Steve thinks it's probably just a package with one of the last few gifts he ordered. He doesn’t get up to check, he’ll just get it later.
There’s a knock on the door a moment later. Once again he ignores it, thinking the delivery man is just double checking before leaving it on the porch.
The knocking gets louder and more aggressive. Not stopping. Just continuous knocks right after another. This gets Steve to finally get up and walk to the front door. Normally he would check the peep hole to check who it is first, but the knocking distracted him.
Steve threw open the door, “Who—” he cuts himself off.
There in front of him was Eddie, bags in hand, snow sticking to his messy hair, and a coy smirk on his face.
“Sorry, Stevie, I left my keys last time I was here and it's freezing,” Eddie says standing there.
Steve looks to the front entrance table. There in the bowl sits Eddie’s set of keys on a cheesy keychain they got in Chicago when they visited a few years ago. He looks back to his boyfriend in disbelief.
Eddie adjusts the bags on his shoulders, “Can I come in, or are we just going to stand here till I get frostbite?” he jokes.
Everything clicks for Steve at that moment. Eddie was here. In the flesh. For the first time in months.
Steve grabbed Eddie by his coat and pulled him in the house. He connects their mouths as he pins Eddie to the door. His boyfriend comes willingly and drops all his bags to wrap his arms around Steve’s waist, pulling them closer together. Steve’s fingers wrap themselves in Eddie’s curls desperately trying to deepen their kiss. Their hot breath fogs around them in the lingering cold air.
“You’re early,” Steve says, breaking for a breath.
Eddie moves to Steve’s neck, coating the skin in hot touches, “Surprise,” he whispers into Steve’s ear. He wraps his hands under Steve’s thighs and lifts him up.
Steve wraps his legs around Eddie and plants kisses across his boyfriends whole face. Cheek to cheek, the bridge of his nose, his chin and forehead, and especially his mouth that tasted like the usual cigarettes and coffee.
Eddie carries them the stairs towards their room.
“WAIT!” Steve gasps as he remembers all the gifts he left all over the place in there, ones that Eddie cannot see before Christmas.
He scrambles out of Eddie’s arms and runs to the room, “Give me a second to hide everything!”
Eddie knows not to argue, and not to snoop. Steve takes Christmas very seriously and will not stand for gifts to be spoiled.
Steve runs around the room, shoving things in drawers and under the bed and in the closet. Once he is satisfied with everything being out of sight he opens the bedroom door, “Welcome home, baby,” he says waving his hand towards their bed.
Eddie is on him again in a second, closing the door once again behind them. Although that did little to muffle their sounds. Not that there was anyone else in the house to hear them anyway.

"Hey, Natalie? You got a minute?"
Looking up from sorting the papers on her father's desk, Natalie saw Max in the office doorway. It hit her again that this was now his office and she was relieved that the pang in her chest wasn't as sharp this time. "Yeah, sure," she said, standing. "What's up?"
He waved at her to sit back down and stepped inside. The apron he wore made him look a little odd in her opinion, though she knew she would get used to seeing him wearing one. She knew that he and Eve were technically living in town now. Oscar had told her there were just a few things left at their place in Fairview to bring down. Now that he wasn't going back and forth, Max had begun coming to the bakery every day. And though it had felt weird, having him standing next to her while she prepped croissant dough for the next morning, over the past week she had come to enjoy his company. He fit right in, the customers liked him, and he knew nearly as much as her father did about baking. He was as likeable, with a bit of sarcasm in some of his quips, and she had seen him work enough in the past week to know that he was a perfectionist.
"Is everything okay?" she asked when he sighed and shoved his hands into the pockets of his apron. An instant later he was pulling his hands out and fiddling with the snow globe on the edge of the desk.
"Yeah, no, everything is fine," he said with a quick smile. "I just wanted to…"
He sighed again, and Natalie frowned. "What, Max?"
"You know Eve's pregnant?" he asked, picking up the snow globe.
"She is? I didn't know. Congratulations," she said, grinning.
"Thanks." He grinned as well, reminding her that he was a devoted father. "We're not telling everyone yet because it's early, but… " His grin only widened. Turning the snow globe in his hand, he tipped it until the glitter and fake snow inside collected at the top. "We're pretty excited."
"New town, new house, new business, new kids… You two just have to go the extra mile, huh?"
"No kidding," he chuckled. He held the snow globe upright, watching the snow and glitter swirl. "Anyway, she won't be able to help out for long. Her pregnancy with Lucas wasn't easy and she was put on bedrest. I'm not saying that's gonna happen this time around, but we're gonna need to be careful, you know?"
"Yeah."
"And I'm still learning my way around here," he went on, setting the snow globe back down. I know Mark's only a phone call away and unless I've got him wrong, he'll show up at least every other day, but…"
"You don't want to bother him," she guessed, warming to him even more.
"Exactly. And, um, you know this place better than I do."
"Not really."
"You do, Natalie. And you've done a damned good job. Mark told me he couldn't have kept everything going these past few weeks without you." Max sighed again. "What I'm saying is…"
Natalie waited for him to either gather his courage or his thoughts. Looking down at the paper in her hand, she wondered if her father needed a receipt from an order he'd placed six years before. Knowing him, he would want to hold onto it just in case. She leaned to set it in the stack of receipts that she would later work to organize by date and then find the spot in the filing cabinet for them.
"Would you consider staying on?" Max asked.
"Staying on?" she echoed.
"At least part-time. Until after the babies are born and Eve can get back to work."
"That's a year from now," she murmured.
"Yeah, at least," he sighed. "I don't know what your plans are after Mark's surgery, but if you're gonna stay in town, I'd love for you to keep working here."
"I—" Natalie faltered. She thought of the voicemail she had saved on her phone from Katie in Atlanta. Katie, who'd emailed her photos of a cute apartment with a nice view. Katie, who'd offered her a bonus to assist her in her move. Katie, who she hadn't called because she was still warring with herself over whether she wanted to accept the job. She both did and did not.
"You're good at this. You're great at baking. You'd be a huge help. I'm not trying to guilt you, but I know Mark would rest a little easier knowing you were here. Hell, I'd be a little easier knowing you were here. And I think the people that come in here every day would be less upset about me taking over if they knew a Webber would still be in the shop." He cleared his throat and pulled a slip of paper from his pocket. "I sat up late last night doing some figuring, and this is what I can offer for pay and benefits."
She took it, looking at the neatly written figures. "Can I think about it?"
"Sure. Just let me know in a couple days, because if you don't want the job, I'll have to look into hiring someone else."
She nodded. "I'll let you know tomorrow."
"Great." He smiled and turned to leave the office. "We're still on for tomorrow night?"
"Yep." It had been her father's idea to have a Christmas Eve party and invite a few people over. Nothing fancy, mainly finger foods and treats and Mark's special Santa's Whiskers cookies, hot cocoa and coffee and eggnog, Christmas cartoons and carols. When she had left the house he had been at the kitchen table, making lists of what he needed to get done. It had given him a new sense of purpose, especially when Max and his family, her friends and their partners and kids, and Oscar had said they would come.
"Perfect, you can just tell me tomorrow night, then," he said before leaving.
Turning back to the papers, she began to sort, softly humming along to the music Max had playing in the kitchen.
The bakery was moving into good hands, she thought, smiling when she heard Eve's laugh as Max began to sing along with Nat King Cole. It would forever hold memories for her, both good and bad, but she now accepted that it was time for a new set of memories. Lucas would no doubt picture his father at the counter, grinning and offering him a cookie. Grace would soon learn all the nooks and crannies where she could tuck herself away to read or play quietly. Max and Eve would love the building and everything in it. Maybe not as much as her father did, at least at first, but they would with time. And their obvious love would keep customers coming.
She picked up the slip of paper Max had given her and read it over again after she had sorted all the papers in the desk. It was a generous offer. Not as much as she would make in Atlanta, but… The cost of living here was a lot lower.
Another tick in her mental pros and cons list.
After storing the keep pile and tucking the questionable pile into a large envelope, she glanced around the office. Her father had already taken out the things he wanted at home. A few photos, gifts customers had given him over the years.
She turned slowly to look at the hook on the wall, expecting to see her mother's apron where it had always been. The hook was empty and the air left her lungs in a shaky exhale. Had he taken it home? She hadn't seen it in the box of stuff she'd carried inside from his truck. She reached for her phone to call him and ask him, then remembered he was busy in the kitchen. He wouldn't answer, if he even had his phone on him. She could wait until she got home and ask him.
Stepping out of the office, she spotted Eve heading out the back door and stopped her. "Did you see the red apron hanging in the office?"
"The one with flour?" Eve asked.
Natalie nodded, a bundle of panic forming in her gut. "Yeah. I-it was Mom's."
Eve's expression softened. "I didn't know. When Mark was here this morning he took it down."
The panic fled and she let out a soft sigh. "He took it home?"
"Yeah. I offered to just throw it in the laundry but he said no." The woman's eyes flashed with sadness. "I hope I didn't upset him."
"You didn't, I promise. He told me once it would hang there until the place was no longer his."
"That's beautiful." Eve smiled sadly. "I wonder if…"
Her gaze drifted to her husband and Natalie knew what she was wondering. She doubted she should comment, since she didn't know them intimately, but she was already starting to nod. "Yes."
"You think so?"
"I know so."

Penny cautiously circled the room, nose pressed to the floor. Her tail wagged slowly as she explored, occasionally snorting, and when she reached Oscar's boot she stopped, head tipping in confusion. Then, with a snort, she moved by him and slipped into the next room. It was the kitchen, and all Oscar could smell when he followed was the faint aroma of fresh paint, but she showed keen interest in all corners and especially in front of the stove. The dog circled the room again, tail wagging faster, and after giving a quick bark she trotted into the little utility room, tail banging against the washer and dryer. After a moment she was back, tongue lolling happily, and stopped in front of him.
"What do you think?" Oscar asked.
"I think I've seen a many things in my life, but I've never seen somebody need a dog's opinion before deciding to buy a house," Carlos said.
Oscar chuckled. "It's gonna be her home, too, if I buy it."
"You still don't know?" Carlos looked up from his phone.
Sighing, he looked around the kitchen. It was small, and the cabinets would need replacing. He had no idea if the L-shaped counter was enough space, or if the spot near the window would hold a table and chairs. He closed his eyes for a moment then looked again, imagining the things he would like to do. Turning, he did the same to the living room and thought of the two bedrooms and little bathroom. Nodding to himself, he leaned down to clip Penny's leash to her collar. She groaned lightly, still unused to it, perking up when he offered her a treat.
"I think I do," he said finally. But still he hesitated, Natalie's words the night before echoing in his mind.
With the bonus they're offering I could hire someone to help Dad out around the house.
It seemed she was leaning closer to moving to Atlanta, despite her whispers that she needed him.
He thought of the offer his father had given him. Back home, he would be close to his parents. Not that they needed him nearby. They seemed more energetic now than they had when he was a child. And even if they did need one of their children near, one of his sisters lived two houses down. But he would be close to home, even if it hadn't felt like home since his grandmother had died, and he would have steady work, even if it did feel like a nepotistic handout.
"I'll let you know for sure in a couple days," he told Carlos as they walked outside. Then, realizing the date, he chuckled. "Or maybe the first of the week?"
"You know where to find me," Carlos told him with a grin. "Or let me know at Mr. Webber's tomorrow?"
Penny buried her nose in the rosebush next to the steps as soon as her feet hit the ground.
"Mr. Wright grew that from a cutting his mother gave him." Carlos watched Penny sniff around the rosebush. "She grew hers from a cutting her mother gave her, and the story was that her grandparents brought he original plan over with them from Scotland."
"Is there one at his sister's?"
"Yes. We have one at home, Sasha was given a cutting when we moved in." Carlos shivered. "Weather's changing."
"Yeah," Oscar agreed, though he had no idea how the man could tell. It was almost warm, the sun peeking out occasionally from clouds that spit pitiful rain every few minutes. "I was hoping for a white Christmas."
"It'll happen." Carlos nodded.
Oscar squinted as the sunlight appeared, as though to prove the prediction wrong. "I'll take your word for it."
Promising to let Carlos know by the first of the week, Oscar opened his truck door. He unhooked Penny's leash after she jumped in, and waited until she had moved to sit on the passenger seat before climbing in. The dog gave a small whine after he started the engine and began to back out of the driveway, and he sighed as the sunlight disappeared and rain began to splatter on the windshield.
"I know, girl," he murmured. As he drove towards Max's house, he wondered if the dog would enjoy his old home.

Christmas Eve dawned, cold and cloudy. Natalie shivered when she pulled back the curtain and saw the heavy frost on the ground, sparkling in the early morning light. The sunlight was weak. When she looked up to the sky she could see clouds starting to creep in, and thought of her father's prediction for a heavy snow.
There was music playing in the kitchen when she got downstairs, and the smell of coffee and pancakes and sausage. She slipped around her father to fix her plate, quickly getting out of his way. The counters were covered with ingredients and utensils and the beginnings of his prep work for the food they'd eat that night. She ate her breakfast quickly, almost silently, her father too focused on his different stations to be conversational.
There was a fitful snow starting to fall when she rinsed her dishes and put them in the dishwasher. Unsure what else to do, she pitched in to help her father get cookie dough and pastry dough ready to chill, mainly moving behind him to wash dirtied utensils and wipe off the floured surfaces once he finished. She wasn't needed, she realized when they bumped into each other the third time. At a loss, she finally washed her hands and looked out at the softly floating snowflakes.
"Max offered me a job," she blurted.
Mark stopped chopping pecans. "Did he?"
"At the bakery."
"Doing what?"
"What I've been doing." She paused. "He can offer me a decent pay."
"Do you want to?" he asked carefully.
"I think I do."
"What changed?" There was no hurt in his voice and for that she was glad.
"The bakery doesn't hurt anymore," she admitted. "And it would be part-time, so I could still do writing on the side. Plus, he needs the help."
"He doesn't."
"Eve's not gonna be able to help him out for long." She told him the news, enjoyed the warmth of his surprise and joy for them. One day, she hoped, she would be able to tell him that she would be having a baby and could only imagine his delight. At one point when she had imagined her future children they had been vague, dreamlike figures. When she closed her eyes and thought of them now, they had distinct grins and chocolate brown eyes.
"I thought you were going to Atlanta."
"I thought I was too," she whispered. Opening her eyes, she saw the tiny flakes were growing larger.

"Penny go?"
"Of course Penny's going. Mister Mark would turn us away if we didn't bring her." Max laughed and held up the pair of pants. "Get these on."
"Cookies."
"Not now, you'll ruin your appetite." Max grabbed his son's swinging leg and before Lucas could slip out of his grip he had the pants up to his knees. Then he paused. "…Do you need to pee?"
"Need cookie."
"You want a cookie. You don't need a cookie."
Lucas shook his head. "No want. Need."
Max sighed with defeat and turned to Oscar. "Help."
"Hey, you created him, I'm just the guy that spoils him rotten."
"He's got his mother's sweet tooth. Do you know what he had for breakfast this morning?"
"Yeah, waffles."
"Before that." Max tugged his son's pants up and caught him before he could slide off the bed. "Shoes, Lucas."
Oscar handed over a shoe. "What did he have?"
"Brownies."
Oscar stared at his friend. "You gave him brownies? And you're still alive?"
"Barely," Max muttered. "It's not my fault that he got his mother's pout, too."
"Not to mention your stubborn attitude," Oscar pointed out when Lucas began to crawl across the bed after one shoe had been slipped onto his foot.
"It took me two hours to get my ass out of trouble." Max leaned forward and dragged his son back towards him. "I don't even know if there is a rosebush that grows purple roses naturally."
"There is."
"Thank god." Max slipped the other shoe onto Lucas and stepped back with an exhausted sigh. "Done!"
Lucas slipped off the bed and stood, brow puckering, one hand clutching the edge of his mattress. "Pee."
"You've got to be kidding me." Max dragged a hand over his face. "I just asked—And you said—If I give you a cookie will you go pee in the potty?"
"Cookie!" Lucas squealed as he was scooped up, and his giggles rang in the air while Max hurried into the bathroom. "Cookie for pee!"
Laughing, Oscar pushed himself to his feet. "You're bribing him."
"I'm doing whatever works. I'm trying to get some headway on this before the baby comes."
"That's months away."
"Do you not know how long potty training can take?" Max snorted. Then his voice softened. "You done?"
"Pee."
"Yeah, son, pee. Have you finished peeing?"
"Cookie."
"After you pee."
"Cookie."
"In a minute."
There was absolute silence. Oscar counted along in his head, biting back a laugh as the seconds stretched on. Then, triumphantly, Lucas clapped. "Cookie now!"
"I don't have a cookie right now."
Lucas's long-suffering sigh was audible even to Oscar. "I done."
"I can't do this again," Max announced after helping his son wash his hands. "Grace was easy. He's stubborn as hell and has me wrapped around his finger. He pouts just like Eve and I give him whatever he wants."
"Grace has you wrapped around her finger, too," Oscar told him, following them into the hall.
"You're right," Max chuckled. Swinging Lucas up onto his hip, he headed down the stairs. "You ready to go?"
Oscar opened his mouth to say that he would drive himself, not wanting to be squeezed between the two car seats in the back of Max's SUV. His phone began to vibrate incessantly and he pulled it out, frowning when he saw Mr. Wright's name on the screen. "Yeah, almost. I'll meet you there."
He barely heard Max's reply, turning to go into the guest bedroom to answer the call. "Hello?"
"Oscar?"
"Yes, sir." He frowned, walking over to the window to glance out. It had snowed off and on for most of the day, but not heavily. The grass was covered and there was a soft dusting on the road. Squinting at the streetlamp at the corner of the lot, he couldn't see any evidence of anything falling.
"I just got an offer on the house and unless you want it, I'm gonna let them have it."
He almost asked who, but the man went on.
"Tommy's son is getting married in the spring. His girlfriend lives over in Lakefield and he brought her to take a look at the place this morning. She fell in love with it, and…" Mr. Wright sighed. "Have you made up your mind yet?"
He hadn't. So many things were up in the air at the moment. Drawing in a breath, he hesitated. Mr. Wright didn't rush him, and when he saw Max's car pull out of the drive he squeezed his eyes shut. "I…"
Tumblr media
"We shouldn't stay long. It's really coming down."
"You don't have to stay. I'm just glad you stopped by." Natalie took a sip of her cocoa and slipped her arm around Susie's shoulders for a squeeze.
"We'll stay a bit longer. Michael is having so much fun."
Looking over to where the boy sat near the tree. He and Grace were chattering excitedly while building some sort of intricate tower using the building blocks Natalie had given Michael. Next to them was the half-finished page from Grace's new coloring book featuring horses and cowboys. Her gaze moved around the room, looking for Lucas, and she smiled when she saw him leaning to get another cookie from the platter on the coffee table.
Hannah was on the couch, talking animatedly with Amira and Sasha, who accepted Lucas when he crawled into her lap. George was squatting next to Mark's armchair, the two chatting while Lilli danced with Carlos to the song playing. Another glance showed Pato and Amira tucked close to each other, talking with Franco and Ollie and Mrs. Jones, who'd arrived with them. Max and Eve were sipping eggnog and talking to Esteban, who was inexplicably wearing a cowboy hat.
"Do you know Esteban and Max were joking around that Michael and Grace should get married?" Susie grunted. "At least, I hope they were joking."
"Arranged marriage?" Natalie asked with a grin.
"Pretty much." Susie was not amused. "It's so disgusting."
"Misogynistic," Natalie agreed with a nod.
"Oppressing and sexist."
Natalie looked on while Grace jumped to her feet and grabbed Michael's hand. The two walked to the center of the room, giggling, both staring up at the ceiling. Her gaze shifted and she saw the bundle of mistletoe her father had insisted she hang from the light fixture.
"Aww," Susie cooed.
Snapping her attention back to Grace and Michael, Natalie laughed. Michael's lips were pressed to Grace's cheek. She could hear the exaggerated smack of the kiss, and then again when Grace kissed his cheek. Giggling, they skipped back over to the blocks and resumed their play.
Natalie turned to her friend. "Then again, they may have a point."
"Guess I should drag Esteban over for a kiss."
Natalie rolled her eyes. "Like he needs mistletoe to kiss you."
"No, but it's tradition." Susie smoothed the front of her sweater and flicked her hair over her shoulders. "Excuse me."
Shaking her head, she watched Susie move across the room to her husband, who was still chatting with Eve. Max had been with them, and she now saw he had stepped into the dining room. She watched him frown at his phone before slipping it into his pocket, and when he reentered the living room she softly called his name.
"Have you heard from Oscar?" he asked.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." Everyone else had arrived nearly an hour before. She hadn't worried, because he had promised he was coming. He had sent her a text just before Pato and Amira had gotten there, saying he would be a little late. Reaching to pull her phone from the pocket of her jeans, she groaned when she saw it had died.
"I just called him, it's going to voicemail."
"Did his phone die again?" she sighed, setting her mug of cocoa on the mantle and heading into the kitchen. "That happened the night of that bad storm a couple weeks ago."
"Either that or he turned it off. He does that when he's got to think about something."
Plugging up her phone, Natalie drummed her fingers on the counter for the entire three minutes it took for the device to charge enough to power on. It seemed to take twice as long for the Apple logo to appear, and four times as long before the lock screen finally loaded. She unlocked it, then gave the phone time enough to catch any missed calls, voicemails, or texts.
"Anything?" Max asked, looking up from his own phone.
She opened the text she had received and frowned, confused, as she read the words that had been sent more than thirty minutes before.
I'm coming. I've just got to figure a couple things out. I might not be able to get the house. I might take the job with Dad. But I need to know what you're gonna do. I know I shouldn't make life decisions based on just four weeks of knowing someone but I am.
"Well?"
"I've gotta go," she blurted, pushing away from the counter. Max stumbled when she bumped into him, and she muttered a quick apology as she heard his phone hit the floor. Hurrying out of the kitchen, she noticed but didn't really see Esteban and Susie kissing sweetly beneath the mistletoe. It occurred to her as she snatched her coat off the rack that she should tell her father where she was going, but she heard his warm laugh and decided she didn't have time.
The snow was coming down thick and heavy. The street was white and she walked quickly as she could, slightly lightheaded from the snow whirling around her. When she reached the corner of Halifax Street her steps quickened, and she heard the snow crunch beneath her boots as she reached the beautiful Victorian house. Bedecked in lights, trees twinkling through the upstairs windows and the large window downstairs, it positively glowed with warmth. She skidded to a stop, gasping, and saw that Oscar's truck wasn't in the driveway. She looked at the house again. The lights and snow created an aura of merriment and she could almost feel the joy that would fill the house in the coming years.
She wanted that joy for herself.
Where was he? She walked to the driveway to make sure his truck wasn't there. Saw only Eve's car backed up to the garage. Turning, she began to slowly walk back down the street, barely feeling the cold or the snowflakes landing on her cheeks. He was going to leave. She couldn't blame him. Guaranteed work, close to his parents. She didn't want him to stay here just for her, even if she had called Katie that afternoon and told her she wouldn't be taking the job. Even if she had thought of seeing him every day at the bakery while she worked for Max, who'd seemed overjoyed when she had pulled him into the kitchen as soon as he'd arrived to tell him she would stay on. And when she'd confirmed her father's appointment for pre-op bloodwork the next week, she had thought of Oscar's comforting presence while she waited during her father's surgery, and his easygoing company in those first days after her father came back home to recover.
Stopping on the corner, she wiped the mixture of tears and melted snow from her cheeks, groping in her coat pocket for a tissue. Oscar would leave, and she would stay, and every time Max or Eve mentioned him she would think of everything that could have been.
She was about to start walking again when she heard a dog start barking. It was too loud and clear for it to be inside one of the nearby houses, and she glanced around. Turning, she heard the bark again, coming from down Brickyard Avenue. Funny, but it almost sounded like Penny, she thought, finally finding a crumpled tissue to use to wipe her face. The snowfall grew heavier and she sniffled, about to continue on her way home when movement caught her eye.
A small dog coming up the street. It passed below a streetlamp and she saw the green dog sweater. She blinked in surprise as it bounded towards her. "Penny?"
Of course it was Penny. No other dog in town that she had seen had the same coat and coloring. As the dog approached she heard the jingle of her collar. Glad as she was to see the dog, worry pricked through while she squatted to greet Penny with a hug.
"Where's—"
"Natalie!"
There he was. Coming up the street in a jog, breath fogging around him. Penny ran back towards him and Natalie followed, stride lengthening to close the distance. "Where—"
"My truck broke down, I turned my phone off so I could think, and I left it at the house." He stopped, catching her arm when her boots slid on the snow. "I had to run see Mr. Wright."
"What hap—"
"I don't know, I think it's the alternator. I left it out at Mr. Wright's." He drew in a breath. "I bought the house."
"What?" she gasped, grasping the front of his coat.
"I'm staying. I couldn't let someone else get it, because when I took Penny to take a look yesterday she loved it and because I kept seeing things I wanted to do with the house and the land. It's taking all my savings, and I'll have to eat ramen for a year, but I want it. For the first time since I broke up with Lauren I want to own a house." He was breathless, either from excitement or his run. "Mr. Harrell was at Mr. Wright's, and he said he needs someone to do maintenance on his rentals."
Natalie nodded, though he was speaking so fast she could barely keep up.
"I start week after next. Doing what I did for Max and Eve. It's not gonna be easy, but I know I can do it." He paused and swiped snow from his cheeks. "I don't know what you're gonna do, Natalie, but I have to stay here. Yeah, I know I'm falling in love with you, but I fell in love with this town and all the crazy people in it."
"I'm staying," she told him before he could continue. "Max wants me to stay at the bakery, and Dad needs me. And I'll be able to do my writing. I don't know if I'll find anything I can do remotely, but I'll try. If nothing else I'll start a blog or maybe write that book I've wanted to write since I was a kid. I can't leave again, because if I do I know I'd never come back—"
"Thank god," he breathed, pulling her to him.
"What?" she whispered after his lips pressed to her forehead.
"You're staying. And not for me."
"You're a little bit of the reason—"
"You're staying because you love your dad and you love the bakery enough to help it keep going and because you love this little town," he insisted.
"Yeah," she admitted with a small laugh. "I do."
"And I'm staying because I love this little town and I love being close to my idiot friend and I love that little house."
At their feet, Penny barked.
"And I couldn't take her away. She'd never forgive me for taking her away from Mark."
"Neither would he," she said.
"I'm glad you're staying," he murmured. His arms wrapped around her.
"I'm glad you're staying," she returned. Leaning against him, she felt a giddiness rise up within her as his words finally registered in her brain. "And I'm falling in love with you, too."
"Yeah?" He grinned, his beautiful, adorable grin that warmed her heart.
"Yeah," she whispered just as his lips found hers.
She pulled back moments later, a little dizzy and weak, and gazed up at him. "Come on, Dad's gonna get worried when he realizes I left the party. And there's presents waiting for you."
"Presents?"
"Dad got you something. I did, too."
"I think Max brought my gifts with him," he said, keeping one arm around her as they began to walk. He called to Penny, who trotted alongside them until they reached Natalie's street. Then the dog gave a tiny yip and bounded ahead. Oscar laughed, tucking Natalie closer to his side. "What did you get me?"
"I won't tell you everything, but one of them is a phone charger for your truck."
"A charger." He nodded. "Useful."
"You need it."
"I do."
"What did you get me?" she asked, watching Penny jump up the steps and onto the front porch. Her friends' cars and trucks and Max's SUV were still parked out front and she was glad. All those closest to her would be there to celebrate both her news and Oscar's news. Penny began to scratch at the door and she tried to remember if she'd placed a towel near the door to catch snow. The dog would need a good rub down.
"I won't tell you everything," Oscar chuckled. "But one of them is a book."
"A book?"
"Yeah. It'll come in handy, since you're going to keep working at the bakery."
"What is it?" She stopped halfway up the walk, waving to her father when he opened the door. Oscar waved, too. Mark waved back with the towel he was holding, then closed the door after Penny slipped inside the house.
Oscar turned to her, arm slipping around her waist and drawing her close. "A cookbook."
"A cookbook," she repeated, lifting her eyebrows.
"Baking for Dummies."
Before she could give an indignant reaction, he swept her close and kissed her. She laughed against his lips, too full of hope and joy to be outraged by his gift. She heard the front door open again, music and laughter spilling outside.
Pato's voice rang out, disgusted. "What the hell is with you two and standing outside in the cold?!"
The End

The wreath thing is strange but how is that a relationship setback? I don’t even think the waleses think it’s that deep but from an outsiders perspective that is weird to a lot of people.
William does strange things sometimes and he needs to be more aware of how he is perceived! I don’t think it’s a big deal but walking all the way past the gates and leaving Kate behind is going to rub people the wrong way. They didn’t have to walk that far when they literally could have just waited by the gates. Also, if you watch the video of them speaking to people he keeps looking for where she is etc
Ok, I see I have to walk you through it step by step.
Step One: Kate signed the Remembrance Sunday card for the last few years. Reason tells us she would sign the card again this year. But she didn't. Why didn't she?
Step Two: Given Kate's extraordinary attention to detail, not signing the card isn't something she'd forget about. Plus it's a signature. Takes two seconds to do. So this feels like a kind of intentional omission.
Step Three: Was it intentional in a 'we haven't spent much time together' kind of way?
Step Four: Was it intentional in a 'whoops it's not protocol for me to sign it so I won't sign it' kind of way?
Step Five: Was it intentional in a 'why didn't Jason bring jeans for Jason' kind of way? (I.e., Kate has left it to William to be responsible for William's shit and her not signing the card is because he didn't think to have her do it.)
Step Six: Maybe it wasn't intentional, maybe it was just an oversight they forgot about with everything else going on in their lives right now.
Step Seven: Nah, I don't think so. William signed his name in the center of the card. When he signs with Kate, he signs on the left side of the card (in the "first" position). When he signs "alone", he signs in the center. I don't think this was an oops. If it was an oops, he'd have signed in the first position/on the left.
Step Eight: But Hello said that it's possible they didn't think Kate would attend the Remembrance Sunday service.
Step Nine: That's pretty plausible but even if they didn't think Kate would be there, they'd have written the card in advance and she could've signed it anyway at home or before/after at the Festival of Remembrance. That's what they did for Philip; he wrote the note in advance and someone else laid it on his behalf.
Step Ten: Nah, I don't think so. This doesn't make sense.
Step Eleven: I mean, it does, sorta. Rules for me but not for thee when it comes to Kate, but I don't think that's it this time.
Step Twelve: But y'know, William being responsible for William's jeans now does explain that Earthshot outfit.
Step Thirteen: Anyway. I don't know what's going on but it's certainly a sign to me that William and Kate's relationship has changed in some way.
Step Fourteen: Did the relationship change in a good way or a bad way?
Step Fifteen: I don't know. It doesn't look like the relationship changed a whole lot but then again, they're very private people and we barely saw them together in public this year to be able to make a definitive judgment one way or the other.
Step Sixteen: Eh, let's not worry about it till next November.
Step Seventeen: (And just to be clear, I don’t see the Waleses that way. I do see them having had some kind of relationship setback in 2024 owing to the stress of illness - which is perfectly natural - but they’re healing and healing together.)
Step Eighteen: Oh, anon wants to know where I saw the relationship setback.
Step Nineteen: Should I mention the note for Remembrance Day? It's really not that big of a deal, but it did make me ask some questions and I did look up some information for it and I did conclude that something in their relationship has changed.
Step Twenty: Ah, I'm going to mention it quickly but then I'll spend more time talking about how some of the things I saw on the Christmas Walk doesn't add up to other behavior I've seen from William and then I'll remind everyone about where the divorce statistic comes from and how relationships can suffer under stress.
Step Twenty-One: Hopefully everyone understands this is just my OPINION based on what I SAW FOR MYSELF and not actual receipts.
Step Twenty-Two: Dammit.

Okay, so I want a little angst fic where Robs twins and Milo get kidnapped, and the kidnapper is doing the whole cliche thing with ‘cHoOsE oNe, will your twins or Milo live??’ and, Rob thinks, it should be obvious, right? Pick ur twins! But, it’s a difficult decision, he can’t let any of them die, and he’s stressing Tf out. Like, Milo is fourteen! And the twins love him! (Kinds? He bullies them sometimes but it’s fineee)
At the end, the bats come and save them, but it’s still an eye opening experience.
The Gooners Christmas kidnapping fic that exactly one (1) person asked for
Word count: 3,375
———————
“What’s the password?”
Milo chuckled. “Jackie, you’re only supposed to do that when you get picked up from school.”
“Dad said to always ask before getting in the car with anyone,” the six-year-old replied.
“But you know me.”
“What if you’re a shapeshifting alien trying to abduct us? Or an evil robot clone?”
He sighed. “Unicorn ice cream. Now are we going Christmas shopping or not?”
“Sure,” she said, “when Gunner quits being a slowpoke.”
As if on cue, the other boy stumbled out of the three’s shared bedroom, tugging his blue snow boots on. Since he didn’t know how to tie the laces yet, Milo kneeled down and helped him.
“Now remember, the mall’s gonna be really busy, so what do we do if we get separated?”
“Meet at the food court,” they say in unison.
“And what do we not do?”
“Go to a security guard.”
“And why don’t we do that?”
“Because they don’t work for people like us.”
“Good job.” He patted the pom-poms topping their matching hats.
Once Milo buckled the twins in and put his favorite rock album on, they set off. There was a light dusting of snow on top of the salt laid down earlier that morning, but the fifteen-year-old managed to weave through the holiday traffic and beat the lights in time to snag the last parking spot at Gotham City’s shopping hotspot.
“Any idea what you’re gonna get your dad?” he asked as they walked into the bustling shopping mall.
“How about a watch?” said Jackie. “I saw a really cool gold one last week.”
“Hm… maybe,” he said. “Gunner, what about you? Any thoughts?”
Gunner stifled a laugh. “Pants.”
Milo rolled his eyes playfully. The kid was in that phase where pants were the funniest thing in the world. But in the nine months since he started living with the Steelers, Milo hadn’t seen Rob get anything—buying or stealing—for himself. It was always for the kids or to sell on the internet. And, frankly, the man looked like he spent a year on a deserted island.
“We’ll start with pants,” he said.
“What about you?” Jackie asked. “What are you gonna get him?”
“I’m not sure.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Probably something as a thanks for, you know, not leaving me to the wolves.”
“Like what?”
Gunner said, “How about a World’s Best Dad mug?”
“That might work for you, but he’s not my dad,” said Milo. He shrugged. “Eh, I’ll figure it out.”
They perused a few clothing stores, the twins pointing out pieces of clothing their dad might like. Milo kept a mental inventory as he fiddled with the magnet in his coat pocket. He also made notes about where the cameras and security guards were placed.
After about an hour, the kids were whining about being hungry (breakfast wasn’t exactly filling—they shared an egg and a slice of toast between them). Milo took them to the food court and used some cash he pickpocketed the other day to buy them both kids’ meals from the Batburger pop-up stall.
Once they sat down, he said, “I’m gonna go get the gifts for your dad. Do you guys have your phone?”
Jackie and Gunner nodded and pulled out matching rose gold and black smartphones, respectively, that totally weren’t stolen and jailbroken.
“Good. Stay here and don’t move. I’ll be back in about fifteen minutes. Call me if you need anything.”
Milo still had a thing or two to learn before he could begin swiping electronics and jewelry, but shoplifting clothing was easy. He grabbed a shopping bag from behind an unoccupied register and wove through the aisles for the list of things from earlier. He took them to the dressing room and removed the security tags with his trusty magnet before putting the clothes in the bag. Then, for good measure, he stuck them back onto random clothes throughout the store before walking out while using his phone like any other teenager.
When he didn’t see the twins at the food court, there was a small spark of panic. He called Jackie and it rang three times before she answered.
“We’re in the bathroom,” she said.
He should’ve noticed the quiver in her voice. When he stepped into the all-gender restroom, he was met by the kids pressed against the wall with a haggard middle-aged man towering over them.
Gunner cried out, “Milo!”
As the door fell shut, the stranger whirled around, pointing a sawed-off shotgun at Milo. “You with them?”
Stunned, Milo nodded numbly. He wasn’t sure if that was the right move or not.
The man’s hands trembled. “Do as I say or I shoot.”
Milo reached for his batarang—the one he found on the street—inside his jacket, but before he could grab it, the man walked around him and prodded Milo in the back with the barrel.
“I know you heard me. Now all three of you move it.”
The bathroom was five steps from the exit, so there wasn’t any chance to make a getaway without putting Jackie and Gunner at risk. They were ushered roughly into a white van with the peeling logo of an electric company. A second person was in the driver’s seat so the guy with the gun got into the seatless back with them. He slammed the door shut. Milo motioned for the twins to get behind him.
The driver turned the radio up as they made their way onto the road.
Smart. Milo thought. Mask any calls for help. This obviously wasn’t the kidnappers’ first rodeo.
But neither was it Milo’s. Being a runaway street kid, he had his fair share of close calls with bastard adults who tried to manipulate him because of his age. While he couldn’t call himself an expert, he had a general gist of how these situations went.
Traveling at sixty miles per hour in a windowless van with no clue where they were headed, Milo didn’t have an upper hand. He needed information. Something was better than nothing.
He studied the man with them, who had tucked the gun away. Even in the dark, he could see the man wasn’t doing well for himself. The worn-out clothes plus the crudeness of his weapon ruled out the mafia. What would Falcone or Maroni want with some random kids from Burnside, anyway? Milo could also rule out some of the major Rogues—Riddler, Two-Face, and Mr. Freeze all had standards.
The man’s graying blonde hair and beard were both overgrown. His face was hollow and his breath smelled like spoiled leftovers. Clearly, he hadn’t taken care of himself in a long time. Mental break? But unless it was a case of folie a deux, there’s no way he could’ve gotten a second person to be his getaway driver. More likely than not, he was on his last legs and holding people for ransom was his Hail Mary.
Milo also tried to analyze the man’s body language, but the low light and the moving van made it difficult. Kellin would’ve probably deduced everything with their assassin training by now.
He glanced over his shoulder at Jackie and Gunner. Gunner always had more braggadocio, but underneath he got more scared easily, and Milo saw it in the way the kid clung to his sister’s arm with tears running down his cherubic face. Jackie appeared calmer, but her big brown eyes looked up at Milo, silently begging him to do something.
Milo took a deep breath and turned to their kidnapper. “You mind telling me what you want with us?”
“We don’t want anything from you,” the man replied.
“Then what? You gonna sell us? Because we’re pretty unmarketable.”
“No,” he said. “This isn’t about you. It’s about your father.”
“Axel Carr? Good luck with that. I’m as dead to him as he is to me.”
The man pointed to the twins. “I meant theirs.”
“How do you know their dad?” Milo asked slowly, careful not to let a name slip in case the man was bluffing.
“I worked with Rob Steeler under Scarecrow. When he left, instead of getting promoted, they let our entire crew go since we lost our key player.”
The man was clearly getting started and Milo hoped he’d keep going until the boy could formulate a plan.
“My whole life torpedoed after that. No gigs meant no income. No income plus a disabled kid meant I had to give up custody.”
While unfortunate, Milo was more focused on the clock and speedometer up front. Eight minutes had passed since they started driving and the speed had stayed consistent. The hum underneath the wheels told him they were still on the highway.
“Without that money, I can’t get my kid back. So here’s what’s gonna happen.”
They came to a stop and there was the sound of a garage door opening and closing. Gun back in hand, the man prodded them out.
“I’m gonna make Steeler pay,” he said. “He gives me cash for his little tikes. Otherwise, if I can’t have my family, then neither can he.” He turned to Milo and cocked the gun. “As for you, I’m afraid I can’t have any witnesses.”
“Wait!” Milo exclaimed before the man put his finger on the trigger. “Don’t you think killing me right away will cause a huge scene? You’ll end up with cops at the doorstep before you can even ask for the money.”
The driver muttered something to the gunman.
“True,” the gunman said.
The driver whispered something else. The gunman’s face lit up and he nodded.
“Better idea,” he said. “I was going for around thirty grand. That’s ten grand for each of you. For each one he can bring me, I’ll let you go home.”
Jackie piped up. “What if he can’t?”
The man smiled. “For your sake, little girl, you better hope he does.”
The gunman forced the three to surrender their phones while the driver bound them with rope to a water pipe against the wall. The windowless garage offered no clues to the outside, but the fishy smell in the air meant they were close to the harbor. It hadn’t been used in a long time because every step someone took left a footprint in the dust. Off to one side, underneath a mountain of scrap wood and netting, was a speedboat with a gaping hole in the hull. On the other side was a small, messy work table where the driver and gunman were making the ransom call.
“Milo, what do we do?” Gunner whispered.
“Just stay here and don’t move unless I tell you to,” he replied. “I’m gonna get us out of this.”
“What if you get hurt?” Jackie asked.
He smiled. “Remember when I did a cartwheel with a twisted ankle? A little hurt doesn’t bother me.”
His arms were pinned to his side, but he managed to maneuver them enough to grab his magnet and batarang. Normally he would have had a trunk full of inventory to work with but this was going to have to do.
While the kidnappers were on the call, he sliced himself out of the ropes with the batarang. He also loosened Jackie and Gunner’s restraints to prepare for a quick escape.
The only exit was the garage door, controlled by a red button on the wall. If he was one of the bat-people, he could easily throw the batarang and hit the tiny target far away, but as just Milo, the risks far outweighed his chance of success. Normally he would have tried anyway, but he had the kids with him.
He gestured to Gunner’s boots. “I need to borrow something real quick.”
The boy nodded. Milo undid the laces, resulting in two long strings in his hands. He tied them together to create a single, even longer cord, which he then put the batarang on one end of.
The kidnappers turned toward them and the gunman shouted, “Hey!”
Milo muttered a prayer to Wonder Woman on the off chance that’s her thing.
He twirled the string and released it. It wrapped around the driver’s knee, causing the man to stumble and fall. His joint cracking echoed through the garage and a red stain grew on his cargo pants.
He reeled it in before throwing it at the gunman’s face. The tip grazed the man’s cheek, drawing a thin trickle of blood, before spinning back around into Milo’s hand. Milo threw a punch, but the man caught it. The gunman twisted before shoving Milo to the ground and pointing the shotgun at him.
“Had fun playing Robin?” the man asked, finger nearing the trigger.
Stall. That was all there was left to do.
“Heroes are overrated. They always have to follow some stupid code,” Milo said, doing all he could to keep his voice steady. “You and I have more in common than you think.”
“Whatever deal you’re trying to cut won’t work,” the gunman replied. “Steeler’s already on his way and he accepted all my terms.”
“What if I tell everyone what you did? Then what?”
The gunman laughed. “Tell who? The same cops you’re always running from? Don’t think I didn’t do my homework on your little posse.”
The driver was pretty much down for the count because he was still on the floor with the pool of blood slowly growing. Plus, he didn’t seem like the fighting type to begin with. Unless there were more kidnappers lurking, Milo just had to make sure the gunman stayed focused on him.
“Your kid. How old are they?” Milo asked.
“He’s ten, and unlike you, he’s actually suffering. He didn’t bring it on himself after a fight with daddy.”
That plucked a nerve. For a disheveled ex-henchman, the man knew a lot.
Milo clenched his jaw. “And what would he say if he knew about this? Even if you get the money, what makes you think he’d want anything to do with you?”
Smack.
Milo fell back as the gun met his temple. His head throbbed and black speckles swam in front of his eyes. His fingers traced over the spot and came back red. Through the dull ringing in his right ear, he heard the twins cry out his name.
He turned back to the gunman, still kneeling. “If you’d do this to us, what’s stopping you from doing it to him?”
This time, a kick to the stomach forced the wind out of him. He doubled over, gasping. He reached for the batarang but the gunman kicked it away.
The man raised his gun for another strike but the garage door interrupted him.
“Step away from the kids.”
The twins exclaimed, “Dad!”
Rob made brief but reassuring eye contact with them before turning to the kidnapper.
“I got as much as I could, Frederickson. Now let go of my kids.”
The kidnapper walked over and snatched the water-stained blue duffel bag out of Rob’s hand. He opened it and counted through the banded bills before turning back to Rob.
“I said thirty grand. This is only twenty-five.”
“That's all I got, I’m telling you! Just take it and let my kids and I go home.”
“We had a deal.”
While the two men went back and forth, Milo crawled over to the batarang. The open garage door meant the bright lights inside flooded the harbor with nothing blocking the way. The bright lightbulbs dangled from the ceiling.
It was sheer luck the batarang flew over the adults’ heads and wrapped around the base of the brightest light bulb before dangling in front of it. It wasn’t very distinct, but his makeshift Bat-Signal would have to do.
The man cocked the gun. “Now you gotta pick. It’s them…” He pointed it at the twins. “Or him.” He pointed at Milo.
What kind of choice is that? Milo thought. Of course pick them.
Rob stood there as if nailed to the spot, fists clenched.
“Fredrickson, think about this,” he said, his normally firm voice edging on pleading. “Is five thousand dollars worth having this on your conscience?”
“You were always the soft one,” the man sneered. “You never let it on around the boss until our last sting.”
“There’s ransom and then there’s this,” Rob said. “Fredrickson. Darren. You’re not okay.”
“Rob,” Milo said.
The men’s heads both swiveled around.
Milo swallowed. “Give him what he wants and he’ll be out of your hair. It’s obvious. Pick the twins.”
Rob sputtered, eyes wide. “I-I…”
“You trust me on the field all the time,” he said. “So do it again.”
“I can’t.”
The gunman said, “So the little ones go.”
“No!” Rob yelled. “I just—I just need…”
“Take. Your. Pick.”
His eyes darted between Milo and the twins. Milo knew his boss was an idiot at times and the proof was right here. The twins were younger. There were two of them as opposed to one of him. They were actually Rob’s.
Before the gunman could repeat himself again, a brand new voice chimed in.
“I’ve seen this trope before. Spoiler alert: the good guys win.”
With a swish of her purple cape, Spoiler released her grapple and knocked the shotgun away. She coiled the rope around the gunman before kneeing him in the ribs. Milo didn’t think much of heroes given how they beat up people like him and Rob, but he couldn’t help but marvel at each fluid strike. As easy as one, two, three, four, and five.
The gunman hit the ground and she clasped a pair of handcuffs on him. Nearby, Orphan collected the driver.
Spoiler crouched beside the twins and freed them. “Are you guys alright?”
They nodded. Gunner said, “Is the supervillain defeated?”
“I’d hardly call him super, but yes,” she said. “He’s not gonna bother you anymore.”
As red and blue lights flooded the room, Milo’s head pulsed even harder like a kick drum at a rock show. Some of the blood from his temple dripped onto the floor. His stomach rolled.
Rob answered some of Spoiler’s questions before she set them loose. Of course cops would be at the scene. Why didn’t Milo think of that?
The twins ran into their dad’s arms and he scooped them up. Milo had never seen his boss so relieved or so scared. He staggered to his feet, one hand in the brick wall for balance. His head spun and a sharp pain was finally sinking in.
Rob put the kids down and turned toward Milo.
“I’m sorry,” Milo said. “It’s my fault we got into this mess and—”
He was cut off by a pair of arms wrapping around him.
“Rob, what—”
“Just shut up and take it.”
The hug ended before Milo could fully register it. After one of the medics patched his wound, all they had left to do was go home and pretend this never happened. Business as usual.
“The car’s still at the mall,” he said.
“I borrowed one from Otto,” Rob replied. “I’ll get ours in the morning.”
Once they were back at the apartment, Rob tucked the twins into bed with an extra-long story. Meanwhile, Milo cleaned himself up in the cubicle-sized bathroom and changed into something more comfortable.
He tried to sleep after that but wound up tossing and turning for hours, replaying the night’s events in his head. What if he hadn’t left the twins alone? What if he’d brought a better weapon? The Steelers were already hanging by a thread and he just cost them twenty-five grand. If one of the others was in his position, they could’ve figured a way out by themselves. Blaise would’ve siphoned the gas from the van and turned it into a flamethrower. Booker and Molly would’ve been better negotiators. Kellin would’ve fought their way through.
The door opened. The thin bar of light cut between his side of the room and the sleeping twins’ bunk bed.
“It’s two o’clock,” Rob said.
Milo propped himself up on his elbow. “And?”
“I could hear you down the hall. You’re gonna wake the twins up at this rate.”
“Not on the clock, not my boss.”
Rob quietly chuckled. “Get some sleep. I’ll be in the living room if you need me.”

Or… A series of interconnected one-shots of people from Will’s hometown noticing there’s something different about him throughout the one year he spends going to school in the mortal world.- Archive Of Our Own
A strange string of disappearing children: cult or coincidence?- "So you guys know how Drew and Lacy are big true crime fans?" Piper said, biting her lip to hide the amused smile on her face as she addressed all the demigods who had gathered together in Rachel's cave. Drew and Lacy were currently sitting with their hands over their mouths to hide their own smiles as they waited for Piper to reveal what they had discovered a few days ago, "Well one of their favorite channels did a video about us." Instantly everyone was rushing to crowd around the laptop she was holding to try and see the mentioned video. Piper shushed them quickly, fearing the noise would alert one of the patrol harpies that they were all out of their cabin after hours and with mortal technology no less. Once everyone quieted down, Piper looked at the group with a grin, "Lets watch it. " Or... Buzzfeed unsolved make a video looking into a handful of different demigods and how their disappearances all seem to mysteriously overlap with one another. When the Aphrodite cabin finds the video they gather all the other cabins together to do a watch party and maybe to cause a little chaos once they learn just how interested the country is in their current whereabouts.- Archive our Own
we'll pass around the easy lie of absolutely no regrets- Nell Brackman has been a high school guidance counselor for a long time. She’s seen troublemakers in every variant, dealt with more kids with shitty situations than she likes to think about, and practically has the understanding, comforting, yet firm tone on lock. Her wife thinks the job can be too tough on her, being the one to see Nell deal with the frustration of not being able to do more for kids who just won’t help themselves the way that they need to, but at the end of the day, there is nothing she would rather do more. That’s what she thinks most of the time, at least. The sheer chaos of Percy Jackson’s file might be something that ticks today over into one of the times where she starts feeling differently, though.- Archive of our Own
Introducing: Dock Guy- “I thought we were going to the lake?” Fern turns them around, fidgeting nervously. “Yeah, sorry. Maybe later. Just… you should stay away from the guy on the docks.” That doesn’t sit right with Mel, but they mutter, “Okay.” They’re not really sure what’s gotten into Fern. He befriended Mel, the Crazy of Casper, after all. They're pretty sure that Fern could get along with just about anyone. Mel glances back at the docks. They hadn’t noticed before, but there’s a person sitting at the edge. Dark hair and facing away from them. A pair of shoes are set aside and his feet are dangling in the water. Even from here, he looks deep in thought. They wonder why people, why Fern, is avoiding him. Or, a new camper is told to avoid Percy. They think it's because Percy is the 'weird kid' of camp. They're wrong.- Archive of our Own
Think of the Children- Lauren Bennet has dealt with plenty of overzealous parents before, but this one takes the cake. Maybe they could skip the holiday pageant next year.- Archive of our Own
someone's halls are getting DECKED- “Paul, school let out 3 days ago, and I know damn well you just showed those kids The Muppet Christmas Carol the last few days instead of assigning them any actual work you’d have to grade. Just come over! It’s Christmas, and the last time you saw any of the family was at Thanksgiving 3 years ago. We’re your family, sweetheart, we’re supposed to be together for the holidays. You shouldn’t be spending them alone in your apartment with a cheap fake tree you bought at Lowe’s. Give me one good reason why you can’t come home, no shoddy excuses.” Cynthia said with finality. On the other line, Paul let out a shaky sigh, then went quiet for a minute. “Well?” “Mom, uh… You might want to sit down. I have some… news.” or the blofis family don't know about percy or sally. that is, until paul brings them home for the holidays.- Archive of Our Own

Christmas in Velaris - Chapter Three

Chapter 3
December 5th, 17:55
Evening announced its resting call half an hour ago, when the darkness of night replaced the bright sky. Normally, Gwyn would be sitting on her sofa with her feet resting gently on the coffee table. A cup of piping hot sleepy time tea in one hand, and her latest smutty book in the other.
Not today.
With an increased heart rate and hurried steps, she made her way down to her neighbor. Why was she nervous? She just needed to be herself. And bring muffins.
Last night, she promised herself to go as soon as everything opened, but when she left the bookshop at nine a.m. the maintenance guy showed up.
It would be fine. She could still meet them today. Most people worked until 6 pm, didn’t they? Either way, she couldn’t remove herself from the chores any earlier than that.
Every finished task brought two new ones with them- when she cleared the piles and piles of old books in front of an old chair, rotting wood hid underneath. When she fixed the door that didn’t close properly, a part of the roof fell down. “That’s not my area of expertise,” the elderly man responded with his hands in the air when he looked at the thousands of white pieces fall down.
All it did was add urgency to the Christmas competition.
The Christmas Competition, she suddenly remembered with a jolt.
She reached the door in seconds. When she flung it open, the steep rackety stairs that led to her apartment were revealed. With two steps at a time, she reached her goal faster: the chocolate muffins that she baked last night. At least she would have, if she had not mis stepped and landed flat on her face with a loud shriek.
Mouse, who appeared out of thin air, seemed to be awakened by the sudden noise as her tired brown head peered through the small crack in the door. “I know, I know,” Gwyn said to the animal who always appeared without making any noise.
No time to lose, she thought as she pushed herself up and made her way to the kitchen. Even though her chin ached, and her knee throbbed, she had to meet her neighbor. One look down revealed her dirty overalls, her knitted red turtleneck, and her beaten-down all-stars.
First impressions mattered but she was all out of time, the chocolate muffins would have to do. She gave one final goodbye to Mouse, who resumed her nap on the couch, as she grabbed her coat and her keys, “Wish me luck!”
With more considerate steps, she finally made it to her neighbor. One hand ran down her overalls, whilst the other held the muffins tight to her chest.
One breath in and a long one out eased her nerves enough to observe the building.
That’s strange, she thought. The building was black and made entirely of marble. No sign to be seen. Two humungous glass doors offered the only clue as to what lay inside.
With two gloved hands and her nose on the glass, she peered inside.
Small spots of condensation formed on the place where her breath met the coldness of the glass.
What sort of shady business was this?
The last time she was here, the whole street was filled with cozy little shops- flower stores, bakeries, and bookshops.
This looked like a villain’s liar.
She almost turned back when the doors opened and a deep voice said “Are you stalking me?”
Was she living in some kind of Groundhog Day?
With raised eyebrows and wide eyes, she perceived the large frame in the expensive suit. Without looking away from those scrutinizing hazel eyes, she said in her most confident tone, “Azriel.”
Of course, he was her neighbor.
The gods had a wicked sense of humor. Only she wasn’t the one laughing, and neither was Azriel. With a shake of his head and narrow eyes, he looked her up and down. Even though she was wearing her warmest winter clothes, she felt utterly exposed under his watchful gaze.
“What are you doing here?” He finally asked.
With two outstretched hands, she said “I made you these muffins.”
She could swear that was an eye roll as he said, “I hate muffins.”
“You still hate muffins?” She said in pure shock. In all her years she still hadn’t met anybody who hated muffins with as much passion as Azriel.
“Maybe you can give them to your secretary. Or your colleagues?” She said as she attempted to look over his shoulder.
Without thinking she blurted out “Or do you plan the destruction of Velaris all by yourself?”
Internally she slapped herself. She needed to make friends, not enemies. She was still here with one goal. “I mean-“
Was that… laughter?
“It does look like that doesn’t it.” He said with a genuine smile that even reached his eyes.
“I will give them to Mor, she will bother you to bake more as soon as I give these, you know that, right?
She tried not to let jealousy run through her body at the mention of the beautiful blonde's name. Just as she pushed away the speculatory thoughts that entered her brain. It was none of her business what -or who- he did.
So, instead, she asked, “How is Mor?”
“She’s good. As long as Emerie is not in the vicinity.”
Emerie. One of her best friends when she still lived in Velaris. A mixture of sadness and nostalgia quickly made its way into her chest. Memories of late-night readathons and Saturday hangouts ran through her brain. Something inside her kept her from reaching out earlier. Maybe it was fear of rejection, or the guilt of leaving them. Either way, she needed to see them.
This was also a chance for new beginnings. With a smile, she made a mental note to hunt both of them down tomorrow.
Suddenly, Azriel's hand moved to her face and her treacherous body became paralyzed in anticipation until he spoke the words, “You have something on your face,” and all tension slithered away.
“Here,” he said as took a handkerchief out of his pocket. When he removed whatever was on her face, brown stained the previously pristine white cloth.
“Gross!” she exclaimed.
“You can say that. What is that?” He asked as he leaned nonchalantly against the black marble wall.
“Azriel,” she said as she slapped him against his chest. “You let me walk around with that on my face?” With her entire being she wished for the ground to swallow her up.
“Is it gone?” she asked feeling incredibly vulnerable. Two strong hands moved to grab her shoulders to guide her to the glass doors. When she stood in front of the giant reflecting surface, she saw his body towering over her smaller frame. And she saw hazel eyes that bore into her with such intensity that her breath caught in her throat.
“See you look fine,” he said as he resumed his earlier position, seemingly unaffected by whatever she thought she saw.
“Why are you really here?” he asked with his arms crossed.
Time to spill the beans.
Although she could already guess his answer, she still had to try. “The Christmas competition it’s-“
“Absolutely not,” he said before she could even finish her sentence.
“Absolutely not? That’s interesting” a deep voice said from around the corner. “Do tell me more.” The stranger urged.
When she saw the black hair and unique eyes that she could swear were purple some days, she finally recognized the male.
“Brother,” Azriel replied in a slightly annoyed voice.
“Uncle Az,” the beautiful child with the same black hair and unique eyes practically screamed from behind Rhysand.
In one easy swoop, Azriel picked the child up as if he’d done it a thousand times before.
“Who is that?” the child said from his uncle’s arms.
“Nyx, meet Gwyn, Gwyn meet Nyx,” Rhysand said smoothly.
The little boy stretched his hand out, one she gratefully accepted as she said “Hello Nyx, nice to meet you. I love your hat.”
“Thank you, my mommy made it for me,” Nyx said.
“She is beautiful, Uncle Az,” he whispered loudly into Azriel’s ear.
Gwyn could swear she saw Azriel’s eyebrows slightly elevate and his eyes widen before it returned to its stoic position.
When Azriel remained silent, Rhysand filled the empty space when he said “Welcome back Gwyn, how have you been?”
He was still as kind and charismatic as he was in high school. With a smile she answered, “I’ve been good. Thank you. How have you been?”
“Busy,” he said as he playfully ran a hand over Nyx’s head.
“So brother. What were you talking about that warranted such heavy exclamations?”
With a sigh, he answered “The Christmas competition.”
“CHRISTMAS,” Little Nyx answered with his legs shaking so hard she was impressed with Azriel’s strong hold.
“Uncle Az, Uncle Az, Uncle Az, do it, do it, do it.”
With a smile she raised her hands in the air, to tell him ‘not my fault’.
His threatening eyes told her ‘very much your fault’.
“I will come by tomorrow and I’ll discuss it, but I’m not promising anything, little man,” Azriel said with an honesty she admired. Most people would sugarcoat it only to never come back to it later.
“Okay, okay,” Nyx said surprisingly understanding.
With a pang of sadness, she admired the sight in front of her.
She missed the easiness of family. The brutal honesty and the total acceptance.
Sudenly, it felt less like a reunion and more like an intrusion. With a soft cough she anounced "It was so nice to meet you Nyx. And really nice to see you again Rhysand.”
With determinate eyes she looked straight into his as she said “I’ll see you tomorrow, Azriel. And remember CHRISTMAS." Was it evil? Maybe. But was it worth it? Definitely.
"CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS." Little Nyx exclaimed. And Gwyn couldn't help her smile.

Second Chance at Goodbye (Part 1)
Tumblr media
(Story about my oc trying to find closure. Ft @idiotwithanipad 's oc Amy)
-
"HAPPY SAM-HAN!"
Silver blinked at them all; "Happy what-now?"
"Sam-han! Isn't that right?" Alison asks, "The Wiccan name for Halloween?"
The Neo-Pagan stifled a laugh as she stood in Higham Suite, having just woken up from another of her month long sleeps at the rise of the full moon. Both Amy and Robin had been chilling beside her bed, acting cool as cucumbers, waiting for her to rise. They'd made the most basic of small talk with her as they'd headed back to the hotel, only for the rest of the ghosts - plus a greying Alison - to jump out in a cheer as she walked through the door.
The room was decked to the nines in fake skulls strung up like Christmas tinsle, tiny pumpkins a lit on the windowsill as well as a big one on the table, along with scary movie posters stuck to the walls. Alison wore a Morticia Addams costume which Thomas seemed to be appreciating out the corner of his eye a little too much.
"Guys, thanks, this is incredible. But just so you know, it's pronounced 'Sow-wen'." Silver giggled, "Robin, you know that."
"Yes, but it funny watching them get it wrong." The caveman said, cheekily. Amy gave him a light kick to his boots.
"Other than that, thanks, this is so fucking cool!" Silver grinned before going around the room to inspect everything.
Kitty was very eager to show her the fake severed limbs that Alison had skillfully made our of paper machet, piled up in the corner.
It was rare that she got to be awake for her favourite Sabbat, cliché as she knew it was. What Witch or Pagan didn't love Halloween? Most of the time, Alison and the ghosts did a party for her before or after but it felt extra special to be awake for the actual day. The New Year on the Wiccan calender.
"Kinda bummed we can't wear costumes. Stupid ghost bodies." Amy tutted, picking at her hoodie.
"Well, we can play What Would I Wear Today - Halloween Edition!" Pat suggested.
That kicked off the games for the night, while Alison put out some little Halloween cakes she'd baked for Robin and Amy to sniff and some of the others just to eat with their eyes, as it were.
Silver had sadly missed the rare ghost ability to smell food and drink and most other things - except for incense, which Alison lit for her pleasure, filling the room with various scents until it smelled like a New Age store.
"I suppose I would dress up as a member of the enemy. A Jap or a Jerry, I wouldn't need to change much except for the badge." Cap said when it came to his turn.
"Oh, that's really, really not a good idea." Alison dissuaded.
"Yeah, didn't a Prince get in big trouble for doing that once? Harry, weren't it?" Amy frowned.
"Little Prince Harry? No fucking way!" Silver gasped, not having seen anything of the royal family since watching live footage of Princess Di's funeral. "Bloody rich people. Full offense, Julian."
"I guess I would dress up as a member of the Green Party then." The disgraced MP said, rubbing his knees.
"Isn't your daughter a member of the Green Party?" Mentioned Fanny.
"And as a loving father, I have never held that against her!"
They continued around the group, Thomas choosing Byron, Pat as a member of Bradford City FC, Fanny as an Australian convict, Humphrey as a member of the Queen's guard, Robin as a bear, Amy as a character from a video game that was after Silver's time, while she herself went with one of the nurses from Silent Hill.
"Ooh, sexy nurse, classic."
"Definitely not sexy and also shut the fuck up, Julian." Silver sneered at him, though at this point she knew that most of his lewd comments were only to wind her up. Hopefully.
"I suppose I'd be a spider. Or could I be Spider-girl? Is there a Spider-Girl?" Kitty mused aloud.
"You guys do know you don't have to dress up as your greatest traumas right? Halloween is supposed to be fun." Silver informed them all after seeing a pattern.
It was honestly just a wonder to have them all participating, especially Fanny who often derided Halloween as a sinful heathen holiday.
"Mike's taking Mia trick-or-treating." Alison told Silver, showing her snaps of the father and daughter out dressed as zombies.
"Aww, that's adorable. I wish she'd come, feels like ages since I saw her, she's getting so big."
"They're gonna come by tomorrow. I wanted it to just be us guys tonight." Alison smiled, looking around the group.
"Hmm, not exactly child-appropriate, what you've got in mind, is it." Humphrey commented.
"Shh, you spoil surprise!" Robin hissed at the Tudor who was in one piece for a change.
"Another surprise?" Said Silver.
Were they going to watch some 18+ scary movies? Was Kitty desensitised enough for actual horror now?
"Was gonna leave it closer to midnight but I guess we can start now before everyone's too tired." Alison said, standing up and moving over to the table.
A small black cloth had covered something in the centre which Silver hadn't noticed until now. Robin gave her a nudge and gestured for her to go take a look.
She stood, curious now.
"Ta-da!"
Alison pulled the cloth away with a flourish. Silver felt the air leave her lungs. She stepped back.
"What the..."
She stared down at the rectacle ivory board covered with letters and numbers in jet black ink.
"It's a Ouija Board." Said Alison.
"T'is said to be a way to communicate with the dead." Thomas said, with a haunting lilt to his voice.
Silver narrowed her eyes at him; "I know what a Ouija Board is! Why is it here?" She gestured to Alison; "You're a walking Ouija Board! And anyway, we're already dead, so I don't-."
"It's not intended for us, Silver." Fanny told her, plainly. "It's to attempt to contact what's beyond...well, the beyond."
Beyond the beyond?
"You mean...?"
"The next layer, of course!" Kitty exclaimed, giddily; "I can't believe we haven't thought about it before, it's such a wonderful idea!"
"Well we did joke about it once or twice but given that whole experience with the Vicar and the exorcism-." Pat's words were cut off by Thomas and Humphrey shuddering at the memory; "...Yeah, I think we thought it best not to dabble, just to be on the safe side."
"So what changed? Why you guys so eager to 'dabble' tonight?" Asked Silver.
Everyone looked to the girl with the headphones standing next to Humphrey.
"Hey! Why you all making out like this was my idea?" Amy asked.
"Because it was your idea, Poppet." Said Humphrey.
"I...Okay, fine, shut up." Amy huffed and met her best friend's eyes; "I know you weren't keen on it when I asked about it before but, I just thought tonight might be a special night to try, if you wanted? You're always saying Witches believe the doorway between the living and dead to be thinner on Halloween. Maybe that's true for the doorway between the dead and the...deader dead. And if it doesn't work then, hey, what's it matter? We can have fun trying, can't we?"
"Amy, these things can be fun but they can also be extremely dangerous."
"Then it's a good thing we've got an actual Witch who knows her shit to make sure we do it right, ey!" The other teen said with a gentle thump to Silver's arm.
The young Pagan blushed, especially as the others in the room seemed to murmur in agreement.
"It's not like I'm Willow from Buffy or anything, but I guess I know more than...." Ugh, is she really going to agree to this? Just for a Halloween game? "Anyway, who would we even...?"
She knew the answer to that question before she finished asking. All eyes were on her. Eyes of sadness, perhaps a little pity, mixed with concern. This was her night. Her party. Her present.
Silver felt her chest tighten.
"I don't...I don't think I can..."
"You don't have to if you don't want to, pet. I mean we've all got folks you could help us contact instead if you'd like." Said Pat, sweetly; "I've got a great aunt who I'd love to see if I can get a Yorkshire pudding recipe from. Not that it's much good for me, but for Daley and Little Pat."
"My grandfather was said to have buried a chest of stolen gold on the moors, might be worth getting that info." Murmured Julian.
Even Humphrey threw his hat in; "Might give me some peace if you can let Sophie know there's no hard feelings-"
"Guys! Please." Alison shut them down. She looked to Silver; "It's your choice, hun. We know it's gonna be a while until you're awake for this time of year again, but I guess we can try any other day-."
"We could. But you're right. This is the most likely time to get results." She admitted.
"Harvest festival and Full Moonah." Grunted Robin in agreement; "Big big power."
Silver was a little bit surprised that he seemed on board with this. Usually, the caveman was the skeptical one, funnily enough.
"You think it will work? You've seen it done before?" She asked him.
"No. But, like Stompy say, no harm in try."
She could see in his ancient eyes, also, a tiny glimmer of hope that maybe...Just maybe...
He loved her too.
Silver shook her head; "Look, I just don't think it will work. I mean, when I used to research these things, all of them said you needed an item or a photo that belonged to the person to reach them. We don't even have a grave for Mary, let alone a photo or belongings-."
"Not exactly, no. But I wondered if maybe these might be okay?"
Alison lifted a handmade basket onto the table. Contained within was the sketch of Mary, recently redrawn to replace the previous one smashed and desecrated by vandals, who also set fire to Silver's bed...among other things. Bastards.
"I know they weren't from when she was really alive, but they are linked to her, in a way....?" The living woman suggested.
The eyes of the woman in the sketch met Silver's. She took a breath.
Could she...? Could she dare to hope that...?
"I...I can't..."
She turned and fled from the room before anyone could stop her. There was a dark closet nearby with her name on where she needed to hunker down and fucking breathe.

10 Facts about Kari and Bucky
Considering these two have not had a truly official start to their relationship as far as the modern MCU is concerned, this is going to be tricky. I've been writing out of sequence at points in their story, so I need to do a timeline to get things in the correct order.
The Brooklyn Boy and the Girl from Naas did not exactly hit it off right away back when they met in the 1940s. Like Steve, Bucky had his eyes firmly planted on Peggy Carter during their first meeting. It helped that Peggy was dressed to the nines and Kari was dressed more like a motor pool mechanic. Kari also thought Bucky was a tad full of himself where the ladies were concerned. And Bucky more than once said Kari was a bit pushy and loud.
Kari doesn’t talk much about it, but she vividly remembers when Bucky started to see her in a different light. The Howling Commandos had been in a bit of a rough fight, and a few of them were in the infirmary after being patched up. When the unit was asleep, Kari walked the ward healing the hurt soldiers until she ran smack into the Peggy, Steve and Bucky who had been watching her from a doorway. Peggy had seen her do it before, and she had tried to keep Steve and Bucky from walking in on Kari. It was kind of hard to miss a woman with glowing green hands in a darkened medical ward.
A few days before his fated fall from that train, Bucky had asked Kari if she would join him for a drink after the mission. A night to remember under the stars. A bit of conversation. Some likely very bad booze. How could she say no?
The night of the fall, Kari came clean to Peggy, Howard and Steve about some of her history because she wanted to go and search for Bucky. She chose not to explain everything in minute detail. They somehow managed to keep General Phillips in the dark. She never found Bucky but saw enough blood to convince her an animal had taken his remains.
Bucky and Kari almost killed each other several times during the years between the accident and their current lives in the modern MCU. She never knew it was him until their fight in November 1991 in Katowice, Poland.
In the flow of the main parts of the story, Bucky has no clue yet about the fact Kari has parts of herself scattered around the multiverse. She knows what they are doing at any given time, and they can reach back to her as well if needed. Bucky also has no idea that some of those parts are involved with his variants in other worlds. Kari does, and part of her is terrified for him to find out any of it yet.
Kari was the one who nudged Bucky to go adopt a cat after he kept playing with her cat Hickory all the time. He adopted Alpine the Christmas before their first kiss.
There are times Kari flinches if Bucky moves a certain way. He choked her during several of their fights, and the “muscle memory” kicks in more often than she wants to admit. She isn’t sure if he’s noticed yet, but she figures he probably has.
They have not been on an actual date in any of my posted stories or my WIPs. For some reason I am having a very hard time with that concept.
I think the saddest thing about these two right now is that I am not sure they will get their “happily ever after” in any story I write. They may have brief glimpses of what happiness is or at least what it is perceived to be by the world around them, but the nature of the MCU makes such a thing a long shot at times. I hope I can, one day, give them a reason to smile.

3.
Do you put candy canes on your Christmas tree? Yes, I do, and honestly it's a waste because we never end up eating them.
What do you currently hear? The fridges humming.
Do you get snow where you live? I wish! It's very, very, very rare to get snow here. Last time we did, it was like…2017 and it was so wonderful and beautiful, and it stuck around for like a week. I was outside every day in it.
What’s your favorite flavor of Doritos? The spicy sweet chili variety.
Do you prefer to listen to songs with meaningful lyrics? Sometimes.

Do you have any clothing with animal print on it? Yes, I have like three leopard print dresses.
Do you like bagels? I have to be in the mood for a bagel, but sure.
Do you ever worry about what the world will be like when you have kids? Well, I'm certain I can't have kids, and my husband and I are pretty much set on the idea of never having them anyway. But yes, I do worry about the future because I have to live in it, too.
When was the last time you climbed a tree? I pretend to climb this huge tree we have on the playground at my work, probably at least once a week, haha. The kids get a kick out of it.
Has anything eventful happened today? Hmm… my dog finally pooped for me. She usually just does it for my husband for some reason.

What’s something you do too much? Talk to myself, haha.
Do you currently have any bruises? I'm sure I do somewhere on my body.
Do you have a hard time remembering stuff? Sometimes. It's weird. I can remember things from like, 20+ years ago (I'm old, okay?) but lately my short-term memory hasn't been that good. I had covid for the second time last month, and honestly, I haven't felt like myself since. I get brain fog, and I'm tired even after like…nine hours of sleep.
Do you like the band A Skylit Drive? I don't dislike them. I think I had a mixed CD with them on it. Told you I'm old, haha.
Are you any good at HTML? I used to be really good at it. Like, in Myspace days? My friends would ask for help to make their profiles look different. That's right, I said Myspace. Told you I'm old.
What’s stopping you from going after what you want? I need to make money to pay bills. What I really want is to be home, all day, and just create. I want to write, and draw, and paint, and bake, and that can't happen unless we somehow become very rich, or my husband's job decided to pay him double what he makes.
How often do you have nightmares? I get them once in a while.
Have you ever had a re-occurring dream/nightmare? Yes, they were horrible nightmares.

What was the last thing you watched on the television? Friends. Right now I have the football game on, because I know my husband is coming home soon, but the tv is muted and I'm not really watching it.
Have you ever had someone threaten you? Yes.
When was the last time you received flowers from someone? Valentine's Day. I got real flowers and a Lego rose bouquet. I love flowers, and getting them makes me feel special, but I prefer other things.
Is there something you want to say to someone, but don’t have the nerve? Oh yeah.
If you suddenly went deaf, what would be your most missed sound? Yikes, that's actually one of my biggest fears. I can't pick just one thing, so enjoy a word avalanche: I'd miss my husband's voice, especially in the morning or when his southern accent comes out stronger than normal. I'd miss listening to any record The Used has made. I'd miss my mom's voice, my dad's loud-ass yawns, and my older brother's laughter when we've said something stupid. I'd miss hearing my dog snore. I'd miss hearing all my students playing outside, and hearing them call me when they need something or they want me to join in. Hell, I'd even miss hearing my own farts.
Have you ever been to a different country? No.
Do you laugh when someone falls down? If I know they're okay, sure.
What was the last thing you were confused about? Why the kids from the house next to our school were coming to our playground during school hours, when I know damn well my boss had spoken with that family before about that very same thing.
Who’s your favorite band? The Used.
Are you paranoid? A little.
What was the last movie you saw in the theaters? Shit, it's been like a year since I've been to the movies. I'm pretty sure it was the newest Exorcist movie that came out last year.
When you tell someone you’ll call them back, do you usually forget to? Yes, I'm guilty of that.

Most of 11/5/2020 is a blur for me, but I do have one clear memory. It was our first public performance for my high school's production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. We were let out of classes early; we had from 12 until 2 to get into costumes and put on makeup. At least one girl was following the election religiously. I was leisurely scrolling tumblr (I had yet to become seriously involved in any community) when the episode aired. Slowly I watched as my dash was filled with "in your orbit" posts chronicling the degression into insanity. We started our performances. I got home at nine. I did not use tumblr for the rest of the day.
The next day was a Friday. I had school in the morning. I didn't see the aftermath of the confession until November 6th, 2020. At the time, I only had a vague notion of what Destiel even was -- my knowledge of Supernatural was limited to the post about God's cousin Phil. I was under the impression that Sam was the older brother. Most of the content I had seen was from Pinterest.
For the rest of the day (and subsequent week), my dash was filled with the same three screencaps. One of them wasn't even from Supernatural (although I wouldn't find that out until much later). All of them preached about love, about triumph, about sadness and defeat.
I don't have a single clear memory about my performance that Thursday, November 5th. But I do remember the excitement, the anticipation, the energy that I haven't been able to channel since. Now, if I were to go back in time to that day with the knowledge I currently possess, I can only assume that it would be even more potent.
The last three years have felt like a lifetime. They also feel like they passed in a blink. My high school won several awards with that show, and others after. I graduated. I got a job, and started university. The world didn't collapse (yet).
I started watching Supernatural in February of 2023, two days after Valentine's Day (or, as Dean would put it, Unattached Drifter Christmas). At first, I just wanted to make fun of it. Understand why so many people were affected by it. I was dead set against Destiel from the start. But sometime in the last ten months, something changed. I got invested. I started care about the characters, about their story. When I focused on their problems, it helped me relax from/work through my own.
Maybe I wasn't truly there for November 5, 2020. But without it, I think I would be in a much different place.
Or maybe not. I could've found another piece of media. Or maybe I didn't truly need it at all. Only God knows that.
What I do know, is that Destiel has affected a lot of lives. Perhaps some for the better. Perhaps some for the worse. In any case, thousands of people have been brought together because, 18 years ago, a TV show aired the first episode of one of the most well-known TV shows in the modern world. 16 years ago, an entire industry revolted for better working conditions, and introduced a character that influenced so much of modern media. 3 years ago, two actors put their hearts and souls into ending a story 15 years in the making, even if the network it belonged to wanted to end a 12 year relationship. All of this led to where we are now.
Maybe I can't remember November 5, 2020 the way others can. But I will always hold on to that one clear memory of the sheer anticipation running through the world.
Happy November 5th.

Percy Jackson Outsider POVs
Only a glimpse into the lives we lead- With all the wars and prophecies finally compete Will decides to take up his mom’s offer to return home for the school year for the first time since he was nine. After everything he’s been through it’s a little strange to go back to the mortal world once again, and people in his town take notice of how different he seems.
I have some… news.” or the blofis family don't know about percy or sally. that is, until paul brings them home for the holidays.- Archive of Our Own
Question!! Are there any Percy Jackson fics where it’s told from the perspective of absolutely normal people who are friends with Percy at school and know absolutely nothing about his demigod life but think he’s some weird cryptid?

Paring: Five Hargreeves X Wife!Reader
Summary: Five storms out to time travel after an argument with his wife and comes back to an unexpected surprise.
A/N: Five time travels at the age of 26 instead of 13
He was angry, that wasn’t mistaken, “ You aren’t listening to me! “
“ Are you hearing yourself?! What you’re about to do is dangerous! “ She yelled in response, and he scoffed.
They stood in the main room of their apartment. Y/n was placed in the kitchen leaning on the island while Five was dangerously close to the door. Both of them at the age of twenty-five. They had gotten married only a year before finding each other during one of his trips to Griddy’s with his siblings. He thought she was the prettiest thing he had ever seen.
Five stalked closer to her, “ You are so stubborn. “
“ I am the strongest one. “ His voice was dangerously low as they stood only a foot apart, “ I will do this. I don’t care what you say. Nothing will change that. “
“ Five, please. “ Y/n begged, “ I’m- I’m just worried about you. “
“ You don’t need to be. “ Five snapped, and he fast-walked to the door.
The male swung open the door, “ Five wait, please- “ But before she could finish, the door slammed, “ I’m pregnant. “
It was new news. She didn’t find out until a week earlier. She didn’t know when to tell him; there never was a suitable time. Now he had just threatened to fulfill a lifetime goal of his– time travel. Since he was a boy, he’s wanted to prove his worth. The only way Five could think to do that is by time-traveling into the future. He didn’t know what the future would entail. He definitely didn’t plan to get stuck in an apocalypse.
So for nine torturous months, Y/n endured a pregnancy. She was carrying a child of her presumed to be dead husband, which she didn’t believe in the slightest. Five Hargreeves was alive, and she knew that regardless of what anyone told her. She had a baby boy who she named Malachi. The same bright, alluring green as his fathers.
Despite his birth father not being around, Diego was a significant help. Diego stepped in where Five couldn’t. He was there for all of Malachi’s firsts and everything in between. But he was always Uncle Diego. A constant reminder that this man wasn’t his father. As far as the little boy knew, he didn’t have a father.
Things got more tricky as he got older. Malachi realized that a father figure was more common than not, which brought raising questions. She answered to the best of her abilities, but nothing was ever valid. None of her answers could be a hundred percent true because she didn’t know either. It was killing her to see her son this way.
He longed for a father. Wanted nothing more for a father-son relationship. Every birthday, every Christmas, he wished for his father to come home. It was killing Y/n because she understood his pain. The amount of dread, guilt, and sadness.
Maybe if she had told Five sooner, he would’ve never left. The guilt ate away at her. It was like an insect slowly crawling its way under her skin into her bones and nibbling them until they were gone. It didn’t help Malachi was an exact replica of his father. The dark, almost raven hair parted to the side, the glittering green eyes and a defined face.
No matter how long Five was gone, Y/n never took off her rings. She was a married woman until proven otherwise. Malachi had never even seen photos of his father. That was normal to him. All he knew was that his Uncles and Aunts told him he looked the exact same. Despite the same appearances, they had clashing personalities.
Malachi was the sweetest guy you could ever meet. Kind no matter who the person was. Wise beyond his years and intelligent like no other. His strong suit was English while he struggled in math. The irony was amusing. His father excelled in math, but he couldn’t do a two-step equation if he tried.
In the grand scheme of things, this didn’t matter. He got all the way up to high school. He was seventeen, to be exact, in his junior year of school. It was the summer before his senior year, and he couldn’t be more excited. As the years went on, the hope of meeting his father diminished to the point where he didn’t even think about it anymore.
He had his mom, and that’s all that mattered. His mom was his rock, his number one supporter, and his best friend. Malachi loved his mom more than anything and would give anything to keep her safe. Diego had grown to be like a father to him, but it was never the same. Malachi was sitting at the island doing homework while Y/n was cooking.
“ Hey, mom? “ He called, “ Yeah? “ Y/n turned to look at her son.
Malachi fidgeted with the pencil in his hand, “ Can I- Can I see your rings? “
“ My rings? Why? “ She asked, “ Well, dad gave them to you, didn’t he? “ Malachi replied.
Y/n nodded, “ Of course he did. We were married, technically we still are married. “
“ I just wanted to see what dad gave you. “ He murmured.
Hesitantly Y/n twisted both her engagement ring and her wedding ring off her left ring finger. She set them down on the granite island before her son so he could look at them. Gently he picked the engagement ring up and looked at it. It was the only time he’s ever seen the ring this close. She never took them off.
“ We got engaged in the snow. “ Y/n informed quietly, “ I really wasn’t expecting it. He never seemed like one to settle down. “
Malachi listened intently, “ Regardless. It was almost Christmas, and he took me to go Christmas shopping at one of the malls which was outside. “ She chuckled, “ Why he did that, I don’t know, but it was amusing. We got hot chocolate despite his love for coffee, and I made him wear a Santa hat. “
“ He was never into festivities before meeting me. Neither were your Aunts and Uncles. I started making holidays become more festive when you were born. Eventually, they got the hang of it. “ Y/n continued, “ Why was dad's name a number? “ He interjected.
“ He never got a name like the rest of his siblings. “ She answered plainly, “ Why? “
Y/n sighed, “ His father, more specifically your grandfather was a cruel man. Still is a very cruel man, which is why you’ve never met him. Reginald made the Umbrella Academy, where he adopted your dad along with his other siblings. “ She explained, “ They endured long days of training without breaks and horrid living environments. They were treated as experiments rather than children. “
“ They all got names, but Five didn’t want one. He rejected it because it didn’t matter. Name or anything. Their numbers would always define them, and Five was the only one who understood that. “ She finished.
“ What really happened to him? I know you’ve given me vague explanations, but I think I’m ready for the real thing. “ Malachi stated, “ I’m seventeen now. “
“ I know. Your father had powers. His others siblings do as well. They all do certain things. Five could travel through space and time. “ Y/n began, “ Growing up, he always felt the need to prove himself, to be better than everyone else. “
“ So, one day, he told me he was going to time travel. It was a big argument that definitely didn’t need to happen. At the time, I was a week pregnant with you, and I didn’t know how to tell him. “ She swallowed the emotions arising after remembering Five’s glare,
“ When I told him, it was too late. He was already out the door and gone. “
Y/n walked forward and took the rings back. She placed them back on her ring finger carefully as her son watched every movement. He knew she was upset. Malachi couldn’t help but be a bit resentful towards his father. All this to make a point? It seemed far-fetched.
“ That solution seems a bit absurd. “ Malachi commented, “ That's what I was trying to tell him, but he was very prideful and stubborn. “ Y/n replied.
A knock echoed through the apartment. The room felt tense. It wasn’t right; something felt off. Malachi felt it immediately cause he stood up and began walking to the door, wanting to protect his mother if a threat was there. Secretly Diego may have given him some defense classes, but that didn’t matter.
The boy opened the door to see almost the exact same face staring back at him, “ Who are you? “ Malachi snapped.
“ More importantly, who are you? “ The man retorted.
Every hair on Y/n’s body stood up. She knew that voice, and she knew that tone. It was him. He was back. It took everything inside her not to scream or cry but seeing Malachi hold his defensive stance against his own father was worrying her.
“ Malachi. “ She called, and he turned to her as she began to walk to the door, “ I need you to go to your room and promise not to eavesdrop. “
He wanted to protest, “ Please, sweet. I’ll be okay. I promise. “
Reluctantly Malachi backed away from the door giving the man a harsh glare that made the man evidently tense. Y/n waited for Malachi to be fully retreated in his bedroom before looking at the man in front of her.
“ Well. It looks like you’ve moved on. “ Five murmured, “ No- please. It isn’t what it looked like. “ She pleaded.
Her hand took his, and he recognized the rings on her finger. The same rings Malachi had just been examining. The same rings he took months to search for to find the perfect fit for his perfect girl. Everything seemed so colorful in his greyscale world now. His wife was still his.
“ Who- Who is he? “ His voice trembled as his lingering suspicion felt more accurate than ever, “ Come in and sit. We need to talk. “ Her voice was gentle and held no malice.
Five entered the now unrecognizable apartment. It wasn’t the same as when he left. In fact, everything seemed moved out of place. Y/n walked to the stove and turned off the burner that she was using. Five had peered at the papers on the island that were math worksheets and took a seat beside them.
“ Where did you go? “ She asked, “ The future. “
“ No shit. What did it look like? “ Y/n retorted playfully, “ It’s not as I hoped. It’s an apocalypse, love. “ His voice held so much pent emotion it was almost radiating off him.
She sighed, “ Okay. We need to talk about that- “
“ I- I want to know who that kid is. “ Five interrupted, and she gave him a knowing look, “ Malachi, can you come out here. “ Y/n called, and instantly he was out of his room.
The boy stood beside his mom, still not comfortable with the unfamiliar man. This time Five got a chance to really look at the teenage boy in front of him. The defined face, the almost raven hair, the same sage green eyes. His posture was protective and territorial, obviously for his mom.
“ Y/n… “ Five began as he swallowed the tears in his throat, “ Is- Is he mine? “
She nodded, “ Five Hargreeves, I’d like you to meet your son, Malachi Hargreeves. Malachi, I’d like you to meet your father, Five. “
