Dream comes bursting into the entrance way, and Patches scrambles out of his way. Big arms pull him into Dream’s broad chest and he soaks in Dream’s presence. “I miss you too, Dream.” He whispers, squeezing him tightly. He starts to pull away but Dream’s arms lock him in place. His heart pounds, “Dream?” “I did something stupid while you were gone.” Dream’s voice rumbles in his ear. “What do you mean? Dream what did you– oh” Dream finally releases him and his fuzzy, shaved head enters his vision. At Dream’s pout, he giggles. “You said my hair made me look like a doofus and then you do this?” “Stop,” he whines, “I don’t know why I did it. It was impulsive.” Sapnap reaches up and scrubs his hands over Dream’s head. His hands fall to Dream’s neck, he can feel his pulse. In another universe, Dream greets him with a kiss. But in this one, Dream jerks out of Sapnap’s hold and clears his throat awkwardly, rubbing his neck. He watches Dream take a step back, putting more distance between them and tries to not let it mean something.

Sapnap and Dream's mom start to lean on each other as Sapnap realizes Dream doesn't love him back and Dream's mom finalizes her divorce. But what do they really want?
