I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's okay for your gender to change over time. Maybe you were sure you liked your squishy internal bits for years, then started to feel you'd be happier as a skeleton animated by dark forces.
Perhaps you're like me, someone who's fervently stuck to being a spellcaster in every game, but is now considering playing a Tank sometimes. I still mostly consider my gender to be level 32 Voidmage but I've come to understand the part of me that's a tank-caster hybrid like an Artificer, even when other people would say my build is janky. A lot of people will try to gatekeep you, but frankly, 1d8 + Int modifier temp hp as a bonus action to your entire party every turn is absolutely worth the higher level spells you give up by not playing a wizard.
And you know what? I'll just come out and say it, Booming Blade IS valid and the Artificer-Artillerist's Arcane Firearm feature DOES work with it if you're using a magical focus staff as your firearm and wielding it as a Quarterstaff to make the Booming Blade attack with. Yes I'm running a 16 in Str and Int, no I'm not "too MAD". Don't listen to the optimizers trying to tell you you should pick Battlesmith instead. People like you being SAD serves to reinforce their worldview and that's what they're really looking after.
Besides, it's not like you'll have the ASIs to rush 20 int, since you're going to pick a vHuman and plan your feats so that you get Crusher, War Caster, and Polearm Master in that order.
You see, Crusher lets you move enemies if you hit them with a blunt weapon using Booming Blade, meaning they'd have to voluntarily move back to you in order to melee you, triggering the extra Booming Blade damage.
With your level 4 ASI, War Caster is a must to protect your concentration. It also lets you cast a spell with your reaction instead of an attack of opportunity. This is not that useful yet, but it is very funny to hit an enemy with Booming Blade as they are running away.
At level 8, you pick the final piece of the puzzle: Polearm Master. You won't be using the bonus attack feature, since as an Artillerist Artificer, your bonus action is spoken for and supremely valuable. What Polearm Master truly lets us do is have an attack of opportunity when an enemy first ENTERS our range. War Caster means we can replace it with a cast of Booming Blade, which on a hit will do our weapon damage, 1d8 immediate damage from the spell, an extra 1d8 damage thanks to Arcane Firearm, and an extra 2d8 damage if the target willingly moves... Which they have to if they wish to attack us, since Crusher can push them out of range right after we deal bludgeoning damage to the enemy, guaranteed since we cast Booming Blade with a Quarterstaff.
Should we hit with Booming Blade twice - once with our action, once with our reaction - that comes out to a max of 2*(1d8+3 + 1d8 + 1d8 + 2d8) or 10d8 + 6 damage at level 8, most of it the seldom-resisted thunder type.
And that's my gender.

Lokono: The Wandering Consequence
Author’s Note: Before using this build, I recommend reading the entire text thoroughly. This guide was written with a focus on character exploration rather than step-by-step gameplay optimization, so many gameplay suggestions appear later in the text. Any aspects not explicitly addressed have been intentionally left to the player’s discretion, allowing room for personal interpretation and customization.
Game: Baldur's Gate 3 Species: Half-Orc Class: Fighter Weapon: Glaive Background: Outlander Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Chaotic Neutral: Lokono views the world in shades of gray, rejecting rigid moral codes. His actions are guided by personal judgment rather than societal rules. While he fights oppression, he uses whatever methods he deems necessary, even if ruthless, to achieve his goals.
Starting Ability Scores
Ability Score Explanation
Strength 16 Core for melee attacks and damage with the glaive.
Dexterity 14 Improves initiative and AC before heavy armor.
Constitution 16 Enhances durability and tankiness.
Intelligence 8 Dump stat. Lokono focuses on practical knowledge.
Wisdom 13 Aids Perception, Survival, and tactical insight.
Charisma 8 Fits Lokono's stoic and uncharismatic persona.
Strengths of the Build
Strength as the Core Stat
The glaive is a Strength-based weapon, and Lokono’s 16 Strength ensures high damage output.
The weapon’s reach allows him to attack from safer positions while maintaining high effectiveness.
Great Weapon Fighting Style
Reroll 1s and 2s on damage dice for consistent, reliable damage.
Reach Advantage
The glaive’s reach controls the battlefield, allowing Lokono to engage enemies from a distance.
Perfect for protecting allies and mitigating damage from high-threat, close-range enemies.
Constitution and Survivability
With 16 Constitution, Lokono can endure frontline battles and maintain concentration on buffs if multiclassing (e.g., Eldritch Knight).
Wisdom for Roleplay and Utility
Wisdom-based skills like Perception and Survival reinforce Lokono’s Outlander background and add to his tactical awareness.
Helps Lokono detect traps, spot hidden threats, and navigate complex terrains.
Charisma as a Dump Stat
Lokono’s low Charisma reflects his stoic, action-oriented approach. He avoids persuasion or charm, relying instead on his blade and resolve.
Character Tenets
Protective Guardian: Lokono is a sword for the defenseless, guided by a commitment to justice. His every action serves to safeguard the oppressed and right the world’s wrongs.
Restraint in Violence: Lokono values diplomacy over bloodshed, choosing to fight only when necessary. His strength lies not in the clash of blades but in his ability to resolve conflicts thoughtfully.
Lokono's Resolve: Every injustice Lokono witnesses fuels his determination. His strength is rooted in purpose, sharpening his focus and making his actions as impactful as a demi-god’s resolve.
A Willing Tool to Be Wielded by the Compassionate: Lokono entrusts his path to kind and empathetic allies, letting their clarity and warmth guide his blade. In their hands, he becomes a tool of hope, wielded not by pride but by love and understanding.
Tactical Advantages of the Glaive
Polearm Master Feat (Recommended):
Grants an opportunity attack when enemies enter your reach.
Adds a bonus action attack using the glaive’s butt end.
Synergizes with Great Weapon Master for additional opportunities to deal massive damage (-5 to attack, +10 damage).
Control and Flexibility:
The glaive’s reach is ideal for protecting allies, zoning enemies, and punishing foes attempting to engage.
Lokono can stay in optimal positions while keeping fragile party members safe.
Sentinel Feat (Optional):
Locks down enemies with opportunity attacks, preventing them from moving past Lokono.
Combines with Polearm Master to enhance battlefield control and protect allies effectively.
Actions and Decisions to Avoid
Avoid Skipping Feats:
The build relies heavily on Polearm Master and optionally Sentinel to maximize reach and battlefield control. Skipping these feats diminishes Lokono's tactical advantages.
Don’t Neglect Wisdom Skills:
Failing to prioritize Perception or Survival checks undermines the character's tactical and roleplay depth.
Avoid Reckless Combat:
Lokono thrives as a calculated fighter. Charging headfirst into battles without using reach or positioning wastes his potential.
Don't Prioritize Dexterity After Early Levels:
Once Lokono acquires heavy armor, additional Dexterity investment becomes redundant. Focus on Strength and Constitution.

Fun D&D Builds 7: Spore-Blade
You like mushrooms? Sad there isn’t a fungus themed patron yet? Craving those spores in combat? Well here’s a build that can help with that.
You will need:
Warlock Class - Hexblade Subclass - Pact of the Blade
Druid Class - Circle of Spores Subclass
Hexblood Lineage
College of Witherbloom Background
How it works:
For this build to work, you’ll need to take Warlock and go for Pact of the Blade and specifically choose a Melee weapon (if you go for the Improved pact weapon invocation) choose the Hexblade subclass, this way you’ll only need to improve your Wisdom and for this build. Thanks to Hexblade’s Curse, you’ll also do extra damage to your melee attacks equal to your Proficiency bonus. I'd also recommend the following Invocations:
Thirsting blade - gives you two attacks with your pact weapon per turn
Maddening Hex - as a bonus action you deal psychic damage equal to your charisma modifier to a target affected by Hex
Lifedrinker - For extra charisma damage to your melee attacks
Eldritch Smite - Expend a spell slot for a looot of damage when you hit a creature with your pact weapon.
Next, go for the Druid Class and choose the Circle of Spore subclass, with your Halo of spores feature you’ll get to use your reaction to deal necrotic damage to targets within 10ft of you. If you use your Symbiotic entity feature then you’ll do an additional damage die when you use your Halo of spores feature AND all of your melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage.
You’ll also want to Grab the Hexblood Lineage, why? Because not only is it thematic, but you’ll also get to cast the Hex Spell for free once per long rest, so you’ll deal ANOTHER 1d6 damage without expending a spell slot and allowing you to choose another warlock spell to help give you more versatility (plus you can use your maddening hex invocation as a bonus action next turn)
Finally, choose the Witherbloom Student Background, this will give you more spells to choose from (which again, works with the theme of Druids and Warlocks) you’ll get two cantrips and a spell from the Wizard or Druid spell list (which you can also cast for free once per rest)
Takes a turn or two to set up (and more to stack damage) but overall you’ll be using your action to deal a ton of damage and your bonus action and reaction to chip away at your opponent’s health. You’ll also get three cantrips and two spells slots for free too!
Outside of Combat, you’ll be able to turn into creatures for infiltration and stealth, have access to more cantrip choices as you’ll be getting three cantrips for free in addition to your Druid and Warlock ones. You’ll have a range of invocations to pick and choose from and you can prepare different Druid spells every day while also having more healing and/or support spells (like cure wounds and goodberry) and be able to use them without burning through your limited Warlock spell slots (as multiclassing with Warlock gives you extra spell slots instead of having to do maths to figure out how many slots you have if you go for Wizard and Sorcerer, for example.) Thanks to Hexblood you'll also be able to cast the message cantrip for free and if be able to cast Disguise self too!
Thanks for reading, hope y'all are having a great weekend :)

Fun D&D Builds 4: Fear Itself
This is a pretty easy build but fun for crowd control
What you'll need: Aasimar (Either Volo's Guide to Monster’s or Monsters of the Multiverse version) Paladin Class (Level 7) Oath of Conquest Subclass Warlock Class (At least 1 Level) Undead Patron Subclass
How it works:
At level 3 your Aasimar will be able to "Bamf!" out it's wings, but you'll need to select the fallen version of this feature. This is because you'll be able to make every enemy that can see you (and within 30ft of you) make a saving throw or be Frightened of you thanks to Necrotic Shroud.
Next, you'll need to get your Paladin class upto level 7 and choose Oath of Conquest subclass at level 3. At level 7, your Aura causes all creatures within 10ft of you that are frightened of you to have their speed reduced to zero. If your Necrotic Shroud feature fails then hey! you have your backup Channel Divinity to use Conquering Presence to try again.
Did both your Necrotic Shroud and Conquering Presence fail? No worries! Just take one level is Warlock and choose the Undead Patron. This will give you Form of Dread, which will give you 1d10 + your Warlock Level Temporary HP, but every attack you do will force your target to make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you.
The icing on the cake? The Undead Warlock gains the Bane spell, so if you cast it as an action then use Necrotic shroud/Conquering Presence then they'll have to subtract 1d4 to their saving throws.
Now, you could use a Leonin for this build and if you do then you can automatically gain Proficiency in the Intimidation skill as well and gaining Daunting Roar (which will also cause your opponents to become frightened of you) but Aasimar also gives you a form for 1 minute which will allow you to do extra damage either equal to your proficiency bonus or your level (depending on what version of Aasimar you chose)
The Good:
Really good for Crowd control, as long as your opponents are within 10ft of you as they cannot move and will have disadvantage on attack rolls while they can see you
If you choose Volo’s Version of Aasimar then you can deal an additional 3-20 damage to one attack (depending on your level)
Thanks to the Undead Patron, you are also immune to fear if you use Form of Dread
You’ll have Bane to give you an edge against your opponents
Due to being a Conquest Paladin, you’ll be able to cast Spiritual Weapon and the Fear Spell
The Bad:
You’ll need to be Level 8 to fully utilise this build
If your opponent is immune to the Frightened condition then this build is kinda useless...so...err...smite?
If your AOE effects fail then it can take time to attack and Frighten your opponents with attack rolls.
Aura of Conquest only has a range of 10ft until level 18

Fun D&D 5e Builds 3: The Silver Tongued Build
Alright, buckle in coz this one's wild!
What You'll Need: The Ranger Class Fey Wanderer Subclass The Bard Class College of Eloquence Subclass Skill Expert Feat High Wisdom and Charisma
How it Works: The Fey Wanderer Ranger has an ability where you gain a bonus to your Charisma checks equal to your wisdom modifiers. So if you have +5 to your Wisdom and a +5 to your Charisma, your Charisma checks would all be +10 to your rolls. This is NOT including your proficiency bonus so at levels 1-4 you'll automatically be getting a +2 to your charisma skills, or a +4 if you grab Expertise via the Skill Expert Feat. So automatically your Ranger can out-do the Bard on a Performance check to dazzle the audience.
Now this is where it gets fun, if you choose to multiclass as a Bard then you get your Bardic inspiration plus Expertise in two more skills. Then you choose the College of Eloquence subclass which thanks to it's feature any charisma roll of 9 or lower is automatically treated as a 10.
So to summarise: you get your charisma and your wisdom modifiers to your charisma checks plus your expertise or regular proficiency bonus, plus your bardic inspiration die, plus any roll of 9 or lower becomes a 10. This means that if you max out your Wisdom and Charisma stats, all rolls of 9 or less automatically become a 20 MINIMUM.
The Good:
INSANELY HIGH CHARISMA SKILLS.
Social and supportive rolls will be easy for you.
Thanks to bard you’ll also have spells like Enhance Ability, Gift of the Gab (etc) to further guarantee your success
The Bad:
A natural 1 is still an auto-fail.
It will spread your stats a little thin as you will need to buff your Wisdom and your Charisma which can make your offensive stats weaker in comparison, but you'll have Bard Spells so it's kinda a non-issue if you rely on them
