Barus Lyndia, Divine of Humanity

(Disclaimer: He looks a lot better kept than this, has blue armor and a cape, and generally looks like an older guy who takes great care of himself. Just using this as a placeholder)

MORTAL LIFE

Barus Lyndia was born in Noalen during the early 2nd Age, when the kingdom that would become Evangeline, Avan-Anjeline, was nothing more than the large tribe of Balbastra, of which Barus would become an important member of for his diplomacy and goodwill.

During a mission to an ogrish tribe known for attacking people on sight, however, Barus and his party was slain by the ogre tribe. Balbastra mourned his death until he returned only a year later, now a divine.

DIVINITY

Barus decided to leave his tribe after hearing they were attacked by the ogre tribe thanks to him, becoming tribeless to protect his people.

He spent this time traveling across Noalen doing good for the people of all species, aiding struggling villages with magic he learned along the way, and giving gifts to the children of every village he came to, quickly becoming a folk legend in the region, and, later on, the center of the single dominant divine cult in the region, which would later become known as Lindism, which focused on traditional Balbastran values known across Noalen by Barus' deeds.

Many millennia later, Barus felt his fame was starting to shine more than his deeds, and vanished without a trace, Barus swearing off of interfering with local affairs. A mere decade later, his homeland, now Evangeline Kingdom, quickly began a conquering streak across Noalen, Barus watching from the shadows, refusing to interfere.

Recently, however, he has begun to regret his self imposed exile, watching Evangeline priests twist his words of wisdom into ways to oppress the people. He is still on the fence on whether he should return or not, but a person with the right mindset could potentially bring him to the fore once more.

Last night after reading a bit of the Book of Bill i went to sleep.

i had a dream that i had to team up with Bill Cipher to assassinate an angel.

I had to carve out its heart so that Bill would let me go.

I woke up very tired.

Krug, Shuck, and Yip-pi-Popo: Divines of the Swamp

MORTAL LIFES

Krug, Shuck, and Yip-pi-Popo grew up in the same region: Swampland near the Shrieking Mountains. Yip-pi-Popo and Shuck were best friends from childhood, while Krug's people preferred to avoid the swamp and its rancid odors, although Krug loved to wade through the swamps before an elder fished him out and washed him off.

Eventually, Krug became an adult and spent lots of time out in the swamps, befriending Shuck and Yip.

As time went on, they all realized they weren't aging at all, even as Shuck and Yip's tribes were aging and dying, all of them realizing they were divines.

DIVINITY

The three divines decided to unite all of the tribes near the swamplands into a kingdom, which they called Swamplandia (None of them were that smart or creative), which became a local power along with the cities of Monstadt and Kelvingyard and the kingdom of Evangeline.

Swamplandia finally met its match with a highly aggressive Evangeline during its conquering of Noalen, where it was simply too strong for Swamplandia. Krug, Shuck and Yip-pi-Popo told their people to flee north as they held off endless hordes of Evangeline soldiers, and would have fallen with their burning capital were it not for Saraia, Divine of Paleontology, charging in with her newly forged Swamp Things, monsters specially adapted for swamp conditions.

With Saraia's help, the three Kings of Swamplandia routed the Evangelite forces, and as thanks offered to raise the swamp things, Saraia allowing a few dozen swamp things to stay back in Swamplandia's ruins.

The three eventually made their own monster, catoblepas, which turned the Swamplandian forces into a fetid land even more pungent than they were before Swamplandia reigned over it. They took the regions terrible smell in pride, declaring themselves Divines of the Swamp.

These days, Krug, Shuck and Yip-pi-Popo perform river trading up and down the Refuge River, as well as raising the catoblepas and swamp things, which are now the primary large herbivore and apex predators of the Fetid Swamps, where they also keep their home, still in the area their capital once stood, fully happy to live a filthy, stank-ridden life
