From now until June 16th, 2024 Toronto Distillery District is hosting the Bourbon St. N. Festival. Come hear the traditional jazz music that cemented New Orleans as the jazz capital. Come hear music created by jazz greats such as Sidney Bichet, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, King Oliver and many, many more. There are so many famous musicians who got their start there such as Kid Ory and Louis Armstrong. The band on stage is the Trash Panda Brass Band. Here's a link to The Distillery Bourbon Street North Festival https://www.destinationtoronto.com/event/bourbon-street-north-at-the-distillery-district/14154/ *** All photos are taken by Mike Kirkby***

Back in Toronto, in the historic distillery district, I was met with a sign I needed to see.
I met it with warmth. I hope this is the sign you needed to see today.

The HIDDEN GEM of Toronto: Exploring the Distillery Historic District!
Discover one of Toronto's best-kept secrets in my latest 4K walking tour through the Distillery Historic District! Often referred to as a "hidden gem," this charming part of downtown Toronto is rich with history, stunning architecture, and unique artsy vibes.
The Distillery District, located just east of downtown Toronto, is a vibrant area filled with cafés, restaurants, and shops, all set within beautifully restored heritage buildings from the old Gooderham and Worts Distillery.
Spanning 13 acres, it's home to over 40 historic buildings and 10 streets, making it the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America. Whether you're there for a bite to eat, a stroll, or to soak in some history, the Distillery District offers a unique and charming escape right in the heart of the city.
Join me as I explore its cobblestone streets, showcasing beautifully preserved Victorian-era buildings, local art installations, boutique shops, and cozy cafes. Whether you're a tourist or a local, the Distillery District offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Watch the video to uncover this iconic landmark and let me know in the comments if you've visited or plan to explore it!

One weekend in Toronto, ON
"O Canada" - it feels good to be back! After visiting the Canadian side of Niagara Falls in early spring, it was time to visit our neighboring country once again. This time, we've spent one weekend in Toronto and explored this dynamic metropolis. We walked along the Distillery District, what once was the home of a large whisky distillery is now a residential district with lots of shops, restaurants and art with a very special charisma and atmosphere. We also explored the Toronto Islands, a chain of small islands in Lake Ontario, and enjoyed the beautiful view of the skyline. And we got lucky and were able to experience some of the late November fall colors.

Shadowhunters filming locations: Part 1/2
A year ago, I decided to try my hand at a bit of photography and went around to a couple filming locations in Toronto. I've seen a couple photographers take photos in this style and it looked fun!
Location: Toronto Distillery District
