The idea was an apartment from the beginning, so I figured I'd get a head start by using an existing one. However, even though I bulldozed the place, I couldn't quite match the feeling I had when I wrote the fic. It wasn't even fully fleshed out in the story, but I knew this wasn't it. I played the lot a number of times, but it never quite worked.

i’m going to be starting a job soon where it looks like almost all of my coworkers/bosses are going to be cis women and i am…terrified. especially since this is the job i’m going to have to get time off from for top surgery.

if there’s one thing i’ve learned over the almost ten years of my transition, it’s that a situation where i’m the only guy there is one where my gender is guaranteed to not be respected. it really feels like far too many cis women realize they’re alone with a trans man and just see it as an opportunity to act out some sort of power fantasy where they get to stick it to the big bad evil men by taking out their anger on the first man they see without the power to fight back. that or they decide you’re “just one of the girls” and will not hear otherwise, but honestly, given where i’m at in my physical transition, i have a feeling the former is more likely.

there was a time when i felt safer around cis women than around cis men, but now it’s just a different kind of threat.

This concludes Dissonance of Attraction (and possibly my fanfic career). When I decided that I was going to tell my original story through the Sims, I figured I'd throw myself into a crash course on turning prose into serial art. I originally wrote this fic back in 2015 and I still love it. I thought it would be perfect for a crash course: it was short, ran the gamut of emotions, and, most importantly it was complete.

I had to revise the story to work within the confines of the game itself, but not to the point that it became unrecognizable. I had fun, learned a lot, and I'm pretty happy about how it all turned out.

Thanx to anyone who liked, read, or commented on the story; I appreciate that you chose to spare some time for it. Particular shout out to @igotsnothing for always cheering me on and being quite adept with the ts4 editing skill which continues to inspire me; and @cinamun for leading by example and confirming for me that my story about messy people doing questionable things and questionable people doing messy things can and should be told. Just reading Things Fall Apart urged me to finish up this project so I could really get my hands dirty with this story of mine whose first iteration is old enough to drive.

That story is Keystone, and it will begin "airing" before the end of the year. It is completely different from the angsty fluff of Dissonance and will be full of all the things life throws at you and more, so I hope you'll stick around for it as well.

In the meantime, in preparation for Keystone, I'll be updating my game, updating my mods, updating reshade, and building up a storm, so keep an eye out for all of that too!

This is the set design I've settled on for Rent. The overall look of the theater was inspired by Theater Creation in Tokyo, but then I took liberties, as one does. Kagami and Kise don't spend any time in the lobby or the bar as far as the text goes, but who knows what might change once I start storyboarding.

I'm at ep 35 of yanxi and I love it so much but wow my blood is boiling like at least gao was an evil monster with some depth but she owned it and she was so dramatic and fun but erqing and consort Chun are pissing me off to the highest degree the absolute fakeness all over a man they spoke 5 words t their whole lives damn girls have some dignity I beg. I don't want to get spoiled but please tell me ying luo returns it to them 100 times fold I need to see them get fucked up so badly. Also consort Xian is so insidious but lmao I respect her she's the only who seems as smart as ying luo when it's their turn to battle ooof it's gonna be riveting the 3 dimensional chess will be out of this world.

(but then tbh I have to step back and admit I like that writing, because it captures the secret dark heart of humans.... that lil secret we keep inside that there is nothing in the world that will make us bite back harder & feel as much instinctive, vicious rage as when someone reveals to us that we were childisly deluded, that we are not as smart & important as we believed ourself to be. Consort Chun's villian arc is so BASIC, just like her. It's that she was wrong. There was no secret, tragic pact between her and the empress' brother! no romantic conspiracy! He doesn't hate her either, he is simply not thinking of her at all. She thought herself the heroine with doomed fate, a grand tale fraught with intrigue. and in fact she is nothing & no one. it was all in her head! ... and that revelation breaks her & fills her with boundless rage, a need to destroy. She can't accept this humiliation.)

Consort Xian is a fantastic villain and worthy adversary to our best girl Yinglou ❤. Yeah of course you know she can out plan, out last any motherfucker. 🙅

I always think her greatest edge in the palace battles is her POV she expresses in the 1st couple episodes : if she is slapped, humiliated, ground undeneath someone's heel - so be it. Wei Linglou will absorb any insult, any greviance. She will just hibernate & wait for an opportunity to take that next step towards her goals. NO indignity is too large to swallow. She will use every weapon at her disposal: including her own body & spirit. She never considers herself too precious.

This is actually incredible, ruthless self-control than few of the other players (including the emperor) can come even close to mastering. It makes her unpredictable to them.
