These are semi automatic "assault rifles" although the term is made up, this is what the left wants to take. I actually don't care what you call them, at all, as long as you don't call them "modern sporting rifles". That term is a pathetic attempt at the gun movement trying to placate the left.

I dont own these rifles for sport, I don't hunt with either of these rifles although I could. All 3 of these rifles are owned because they're effective against two legged predators at varying distances. I own these rifles incase someone or a group of people intend to kill me or my loved ones. These rifles are owned specifically to defend myself against humans.

Let's not mince words.

Every attempt at banning them only makes me buy more and more. No legislation will make me give them to you, no tragedy will ever make me anti gun. Each shooting I see in the news makes me want to buy more and train harder to be more effective against the evil in this world.

These guns don't make me a psychopathic killer. I'm not a violent person but I'm also not an idiot who believes the world is a safe place. As the world gets increasingly more dangerous look for better and better tools to defend myself and my family. As the government gets more corrupt and the economy crashes I hedge my bets with effective self defense tools and the skillset to effectively deploy them.

My guns aren't a threat to anyone that isn't trying to kill me. So you can cry, you can protest and you can even legislate, these are mine and you'll never get them. They're absolutely no danger to you unless you're someone who means me harm and tries to kill me.

How many people need to die before I turn in my guns? There isn't an amount. What do my guns have to do with shooting rates in this country? Do you advocate chopping off your penis to help prevent others from raping?

Dissipator Thoughts

I’m not super into cloning all of the various retro stuff these days, but one particular rifle has always peaked my interest. The Dissipator as it’s commonly referred to was one of the first iterations of an M16 carbine for a more handier style of rifle. A standard M16 back in the Vietnam era was the M16A1 and associated variants. The military wanted a shortened version of this rifle and numerous attempts were made…some with some success and others not so successful. One of these is the Dissipator of course. So what exactly is a Dissipator? Essentially a Dissipator is a shortened M16A1… they took the 20” barrel and cut it down to a 16” while maintaining the rifle length gas system. This did cause some problems, however with proper function. The system then became somewhat gas starved, so they ended up opening the gas port slightly larger to account for this. The advantage? Well, you maintain the soft shooting rifle length gas system and longer sight radius, but in a shorter package. Seemed very much like a win all the way around, however the Dissipator wasn’t long lived and the shorter carbines took it’s place.

So very recently, Brownells got in a batch of C7 carry handle uppers. Man it had been so long since seeing these in stock, so I jumped on it! Brownells has been in recent years the king of Retro M16 based firearms. Originally Brownells was producing complete rifles, but has scaled back to just part production the past couple of years. The parts come in and go out of stock just as fast for the retro stuff…it is HOT!!! As soon as I got my C7 upper ordered, I found that Brownells had their chrome retro bolt carrier group in stock and on sale, so I grabbed one of those. The one piece to the puzzle that proved to be very hard is a Dissipator barrel assembly. The majority of the barrels out there are carbine or midlength gas system barrels. I chose to pick one up from another vendor that happens to have a midlength gas setup as well as the front sight assembly. The front sight assembly isn’t “correct” but it will do. I really want the look of the original A1 Dissipator! I still haven’t sourced any of the lower parts that I need, but have been looking hard. Hopefully in the coming months I can locate an A1 buttstock, grip and a suitable lower receiver.

So what are your thoughts on the Dissipator style of rifle? I truly believe there is still a place for one of these, provided that optics aren’t on the table for the firearm. Iron sights will be the main focus AND just that little bit of retro look if you please. I’m a big fan of the irons used on the M16 platform and no doubt these will perform nicely. Once I complete this particular Dissipator project I might try and do a “what if” version with more modern components, but only time will tell.

Objectively kind of a bummer that if you drown your soul belongs to the water for all eternity as a wet ghost but this is possibly preferable to an afterlife you have no guarantee of, because who knows where you go if you die on land but if you die at sea you know exactly what to expect. Fish

Goddamn Liam and Robbie have so much chemistry together. Their scenes as Dorym are just so tender and wonderful. Orym is shy but he's being so brave and careful, taking the lead in discussing his feelings with Dorian, for Dorian, because he's done this before, he's been in love and he's known what it's like to go day by day healing after experiencing devastating loss, and he knows how he feels for Dorian, sees how he is hurting, and wants to be with him, take joy in him, help him shoulder his burdens. And Dorian who is inexperienced and freshly hurting and feeling so many things for the first time sees this little halfling, who he believes is so much more of a leader than he knows, stepping up and leading them toward this wonderful new relationship between them and he wants it so badly, even if he can't find all the words for it yet, so all he can say is an immediate "ok. yes." to anything Orym asks.
