Hey Have you also been thinking about Tiger, Tiger by @pepurika non-stop? Great! I've made a playlist because that is what happens when characters live rent free in my brain

Yes, I am aware that wrapping him in a cloak or pulling Shadow of Menzoberranzan over his face in that post-tadpole scene would have nullified the drama.
Does it stop me from imagining it? No.

Thinking about "I always wanted my friends to call me Gerry". Thinking about how Gerry was so alienated from the world, so marked by what he went through as a kid, that he probably never got close to anyone.
Maybe the person Gerry was closest to was Gertrude - and she kind of betrayed him, by binding him to the book he had so many reasons to hate. So i guess that's something he and Michael had in common... But it wasn't the same. Gerry said he never really trusted her. He knew her work was the only thing that really mattered to her. He knew she didn't care if people suffered because of her plans - just like his mother.
Maybe he didn't mind because this was just familiar to him. He didn't expect her to care about him. Maybe he even stayed with Gertrude because of this - not only because she freed him from his mother and she wasn't ignorant, but because this was the only kind of relationship he knew. This was where he felt comfortable. If someone had seemed to truly care about him, he only would have expected to be hurt when they would eventually choose something else over him. So he kept his expectations low. He stayed with someone who he knew wouldn't dissappoint him - whom he knew he wouldn't dissappoint -, because he knew what her priorities were all along. It was the closest thing to comfort he knew.

So, we know how the prothet told Odysseus that if he ever went to war he would be gone for 20 years, and he faked being mad so he wouldn't have to go?
Yeah, well.
The Troyan war lasted 10 years. Do you guys think that Odysseus came up with the horse ideaTM because it was crazy and he was like 'Ha bet!', probably knowing it wouldn't work, cause it's been only '10 years'.
Imagine him just standing there in the ruins of Troy:
0-0 'No fucking way that worked. Suck it prothet!'
And then the moment he encountered the first eldritch horror on his way back home:
'Ah... there it is.'
