I’ve decided that I have a good bone structure to pull off Jim Hawkins from Disney’s Treasure Planet. I’m going to do a Disney Bound/Dapper Day outfit/cosplay of him for sure this year. Might even wear it to D23 expo if I ever get to go.
I honestly think I was partially inspired by his relationship with John Silver. Silver has a similar body type to my own father and I’ve been missing him quite a bit this year. No matter how grown you are when you loose em, a good parent is mourned for life. 💔

I get that Charlie's personality is probably inspired by Disney princesses, but i like to think that even her other day-to-day clothes are still some dapper fits that give off more a "Prince Charming" vibe

So Close
Masterlist
Deuce is determined to give you your Disney Princess moment
Warning: I write the reader as female. Reader wears a ballgown. Deuce is implied to be taller than the reader.
Tumblr media
You're in my arms And all the world is calm The music playing on for only two So close together And when I'm with you So close to feeling alive
“Would you like to dance?” he blurted out, the question coming out at a louder volume than his usual voice and cutting through the quiet atmosphere of your nightly stroll. Despite the swathes of indigo and deep purple hues that blotted against the vast expanse of navy blue above you, you could see the darkening of his cheeks.
It’s no secret that Deuce is a hopeless romantic, to this day he still gets teased by his fellow card soldiers for letting it slip how much he admired the love that the King and Queen of Hearts shared for each other and wished that he could have a relationship like that. Of course, all of that teasing stopped when his longings actually came true in the best way possible as you made sure to shower him with as much affection as possible - though he was sure that it was mainly due to jealousy that he was now dating the highly coveted only female student in the school. Ace himself stopped poking fun at Deuce’s alleged sappiness when he realised that every jab at the navy haired boy’s expense would result in your praise for your boyfriend and a subsequent peck on the cheek. There was only so much nauseating mushiness and overflowing smugness he could take from his rival that he could take.
In all honesty, his sentimentality regarding all things romance is something that he’s had for a long time. Growing up with his mother and grandmother, who were avid readers and watchers of any toe-curlingly passionate love story they could find, he’d come to appreciate the feeling of wanting to find ‘the one’. Even when he fell onto the wrong path, the fleeting thoughts of yearning regarding having a significant other to love and cherish him and for him to love and cherish in return did overcome him, only for him to toss them away, dismissing them as a fool’s dream. But still, whenever he’d snuggle up next to his mother to watch those lovey-dovey movies he holds dear to his heart, or curl up in his bed with a worn out book of assorted fairytales and other happily ever afters, he couldn’t help but wonder if maybe there’s a chance for him to find love as well.
And then you showed up. A beautiful, wonderful, absolutely breathtaking girl hailing from a completely different world came bounding right into his arms. And you were much better than any fantasy his mind could possibly conjure up.
When it was announced that selected students would be taking a trip to Noble Bell College to partake in a masquerade ball, Deuce made it his mission to give you the fairytale romance you deserved, asking his Heartslabyul seniors to teach him everything they know so that he doesn’t mess things up.
Dressed to the nines in gold-accented getup, he was the most dapper he had ever been, fidgeting in place as he waited for you to make your entrance into the ornate NBC ballroom. And when the time came, and he eagerly looked up to greet you, he physically felt the sensations of all of his words leaving him.
He was not ready. He could’ve waited for a century and he still wouldn’t have been ready.
You far exceeded any fairytale; no poem nor love song nor serenade could ever compare to the inexplainable feelings of awe and love and wonder he felt when he saw you emerge into the ballroom like an angel descending from the heavens, an ethereal being formed in the realm of dreams.
The deep blue satin of your gown’s bodice elegantly embraced your torso with intricate dark blue lace appliques and obsidian coloured gemstones embroidering its neckline. Rich cobalt blue glimmery satin billowed downwards from your waist, the edges of its hemline lined with the same black crystals that decorated your chest. Multiple layers of silk petticoats, all different shades of pale blue, made the voluminous skirt flow around you, giving you the appearance of a divine being floating through the air with the way it swayed and danced about. Completing your ensemble were not only elegant elbow-length sapphire blue gloves but also a black spade pendant (a gift from him) hung on a thin golden necklace and rested snugly against the dip between your collarbones.
With a colour scheme of black and blue, it’s clear to anybody that sees you that you wore this dress with him in mind, making a silent statement to everyone watching that you were his and he is yours, and the thought of you consciously making an effort just to match with him made him light headed with the full force of his adoration for you.
He thought he could do this, he had prepared for this. He was going to whisk you away into a waltz and treat you like the princess you are. Only his hands couldn’t stop shaking and when he looked at you he felt like he couldn’t breathe. With a seraphic beam on your lips, and the golden glow from the overhead chandeliers catching onto the glittery sparkles on your face, hair and gown, you were radiant in more ways than one and he felt way beyond his depth. You’re so captivating, so alluring, the orchestra had already started and he was still trying to pick his jaw up from off the floor. He had no idea what to do.
So you took his hand, smiled and whispered, “it’s a bit stuffy in here, don’t you think? Why don’t we go out and get some fresh air.”
So there the two of you stood, wandering through the courtyard of Noble Bell College, all alone with nothing but the dotted splatters of twinkling silver that shone on the night sky, fluttering fireflies and the serene chirping of the crickets that hid amongst the swaying strands of prairie cordgrass as company. He had long abandoned his masquerade mask and feathered hat, giving you a full, unrestricted view to the face that you could spend hours looking at.
However, he still wanted to dance with you. Great Seven, he wanted to dance with you more than anything. He wanted to hold you tight and make you swoon and he knew that this night wasn’t going to last for much longer so he just impulsively verbalised his inner thoughts with all of the charisma of a brick.
Deuce extended out a hand, ignoring the feeling of his heart drumming loudly against his ribcage. He thanked The Seven that he’s wearing his silken black gloves so that you don’t notice how clammy his palms are.
You giggled at his boyish bashfulness, lifting your skirts to dip into an elegant curtsy before rising back up and placing a hand over his outstretched one, “it would be an absolute pleasure.”
He gulped and, remembering the actions of the men in his mother’s romance movies, he brought your own gloved hand towards his lips and placed a kiss right in the middle of your knuckles before gently pulling you towards him, clasping his right hand with yours, interlocking your fingers a tad bit tighter than he would’ve liked and the letting his left hand rest on the small of your back, unknowingly bringing your body closer to his. You could feel his nerves shaking him and supportively squeeze your clasped hands in hopes that it would calm him down.
“I’m really bad at this,” he whispers apologetically, his voice wavering with nerves as he fumbled on the turning box step he attempted to lead you on, almost tripping over his boots and falling forward had you not held him in place, “I’ve never done this before.”
“Neither have I,” you smile reassuringly at him, taking a step closer so that you can press a kiss onto his jaw before pulling back with a beam, “I guess that means that we’ll just have to be bad dancers together.”
He swallowed and gave you a terse nod, tensing and untensing his body as he led you around the garden, his movements stiff and ungainly. As the two of you danced together - a mix between awkward shuffling, unsure box steps and a few twirls - you noticed that he spent most of the time with his eyes trained on the floor.
“I wasn’t aware that grass is so interesting in this world,” you say in amusement, causing his head to whip up towards you, his hands to drop yours and his face to darken.
“Ah - I-I’m sorry,” he muttered sheepishly, “I’m just scared that I might make a mistake and step on your feet or something.”
“There’s no need to worry about that,” you said placatingly, reaching out to grab his hand, “it’s just you and me here, alright. So there’s no need to worry about messing up. I trust you and all I ask is for you to trust yourself.”
“O-okay,” he stuttered, grasping your hand in his as he twirled you around, letting your skirt flounce outwards before pulling you towards him so that your arms were crossed over your stomach, back resting against his chest as you swayed in place.
Sighing dreamily, you leaned into him as you felt him freeze in place for a moment before he melted against your back, letting his face rest against your scalp so that he could take as much of you in as possible. After a few seconds of staying in one spot you were able to deduce that your boyfriend still had hints of his earlier apprehension so you decided to take the lead for a moment. You let go of your partner’s hands and slid your left arm backwards over your torso and placed it’s hand over his own left hand, giving it a comforting squeeze as you interlock your fingers over his, letting both of your hands rest at the spot between the curve of your waist and your stomach. His breath physically and audibly hitched at your actions as you did the same with both of your right hands, only this time you extended them outwards away from your bodies. You gave his hands another squeeze and waited for him to give yours a squeeze back before you took a step forward, whispering so softly that only he could hear you, “just relax, handsome. Take a deep breath and follow my lead.”
And so you lead him, taking steps forwards and backwards, to and fro, and you can tell that having him behind you, out of your sight, yet still possessing the intimacy of having your bodies pressed flush against each other, enhanced his assuredness as his footwork became less fumbling and his uneasy breaths evened out into a more natural rhythm. You then brought your outstretched arms over your head as you spun yourself outwards and away, letting your skirts flare around you like blooming marigold petals as you gazed at him with a playful gleam in your eyes. Teasingly, you let your hands slip from his hold before he grasped them again and pulled you back in into a closed dance hold.
It took you a while to get in synchronisation but once you did, the both of you found yourselves fluidly and freely twirling across the grass. It was still awkward and somewhat stilted, all youthfully clumsy and lacking in finesse - which is to be expected from two amateurs - but the lightness you felt in the arms of your love made you feel like you were floating on air, gliding amongst the clouds, far away from the responsibilities and troubles of your life. Here, you weren’t a displaced magicless prefect with too many burdens to shoulder nor was he an ex-delinquent yearning for redemption - no, here you are just a boy and a girl in love, dancing to a song of their own making. The chemistry between you and the affection you held for each other far surpassed your inexperience and the jittery nerves within you.
Your laughs were unabashedly carefree as Deuce spun you into an underarm turn, his own laughs intermingling with yours in a dance of their own. Suddenly you felt his hands circling your hips, lifting you up by your waist and spinning you around, your dress flowing behind you like the shimmering tail of a comet. Wild, unrestrained peals of laughter erupted out of you in complete elation, your pure euphoria so unbridled that your boyfriend felt his own emotions let loose. With newfound confidence and sure-footedness he continued to twirl you around in the air, a lovestruck gaze in his eyes and a giddy grin on his lips, his palms never leaving your waist, even when he gently set you back down on the ground. The both of you were breathless, faces flushed from the exertion of your exuberance. You met each other’s eyes as you regained your breaths, your earlier mirth dying down and morphing into something more intense as the air around you became more and more palpable with every second you gazed at each other. The grip he had on your midsection grew stronger as he brought you closer and closer to him until you were not even an atom’s width apart. You could feel your blood rushing as you watched his dark eyes glance over and over at your eyes and lips.
He slowly brought both of his hands up to cradle your face and you wrapped your arms around him so that you could press yourself even closer to him. He looked at you longingly, so captivatingly spellbound, that you felt rooted in place, like a butterfly with its wings pinned to a board. He opened his mouth, looked right at you with that intense gaze, and whispered, “can I kiss you?”
You nodded back, “I’d like that very much.”
And so he pulled you forward, letting his lips claim yours and you melted into each other’s embrace, basking in the feeling of your happily ever after.
So close to reaching That famous happy end Almost believing This one's not pretend And now you're beside me And look how far we've come So far we are, so close

Top 5 Appearances of Jack Skellington
Tumblr media
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I decided to use this opportunity to dedicate a short countdown to a film I’m very thankful for: the stop-motion animation classic, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Why today? Several reasons: first, Thanksgiving falls right smack dab in the middle between Halloween and Christmas, as far as major American holidays go, so it seems a decent date, given the subject matter. Second, recently the movie enjoyed its 30th Anniversary, so that’s definitely something to celebrate. Third, its producer - and the man many agree is most responsible for the feature’s existence, Tim Burton - got his long-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this very year. Fourth and finally, it is quite possibly my favorite movie, and certainly my favorite Disney movie. By that measure alone, I am supremely grateful for its existence, and so a day of Thanksgiving seems a good time to talk about it…and its main character. Initially, I was going to dedicate this list to the film as a whole, but after some deliberation, I decided to focus this countdown specifically on the main protagonist of the feature, Jack Skellington. Jack is an anomaly for a lot of reasons; he’s one of the few times - especially in a movie that now wears the Disney brand like a badge of honor - where the main character of the story really is my favorite one. He’s become almost as recognized as Mickey Mouse around the company, as their resident face of both Halloween AND Christmas. And as time has gone on, his popularity has only continued to rise. What’s great about Jack, and makes him so unique, is the way the character is both so complex and yet so simple, just like the film he’s from. This is also not taking into account the many dualities inherent to the character. He’s the Pumpkin King, the scariest soul in Halloween Town…yet he’s also a sweetheart and finds a sense of childlike wonder in the Christmas season. He’s a dapper, charismatic, theatrical, somewhat grandiloquent fellow…yet he’s also a complete goober, showing a great deal of naivete and not always thinking things through. He’s typically a nice guy who acts polite and friendly to most anyone he meets…but if you cross him the wrong way, or dare to hurt those he considers his friends, he’ll whoop you in a second without mercy. It’s this constant contrast of darkness and light, of the intellectual master of horror and the childlike innocent, that makes him so engaging and interesting. That, and the fact that - unique among Disney heroes especially - Jack kind of creates his own conflict in the story. Yes, Oogie Boogie is the nominal villain of the movie, but even he really only becomes a problem in the original film BECAUSE of Jack’s bad decisions. If you took Oogie out of the equation, Jack could ALMOST be considered a villain in his own right; thankfully, he realizes and learns from his mistake and is quick to make things right. I thought it would be fun to look at some of Jack’s appearances since the film, much as I have done with some of the great Disney Villains (coincidentally) in the past. Now, I can only count appearances I’m personally familiar with to some degree or another, so if any that YOU like are left out of the running, it’s most likely just because I haven’t read, seen, or played them yet. With that said, let’s celebrate Thanksgiving by looking at a character known for its surrounding holidays…forever proving, by extension, that this holiday is the middle child of the yuletide family. Ha Ha. These are My Top 5 Favorite Appearances from Jack Skellington!
Tumblr media
5. Pumpkin King AND The Battle For Pumpkin King.
Not only are the titles of these two pieces similar, but so are their purposes. “Pumpkin King” was a video game tie-in to TNBC, which acted as a prequel to the movie. It was released in 2005. Nearly two decades later, in 2023, Disney would release ANOTHER prequel spin-off, in the form of “The Battle For Pumpkin King;” a comic miniseries later reformatted into a graphic novel. Both of these prequels tell the story of how the rivalry between Jack and his arch-nemesis, Oogie Boogie, got started, each with their own unique twists to the concept. As far as the game goes, playing as Jack Skellington - using a variety of crazy gadgets to defeat Oogie and his goons - is obviously a major part of what makes the title appealing. The comic, meanwhile, goes even further in showing how Jack became the Pumpkin King to begin with, and presents a more dramatic and tragic arc for the two enemies, in my opinion. Having read and re-read the comic a couple times now, and compared it to the game…I don’t think either is really a perfect prequel. Each has their own pros and cons, in terms of how things started between the two and how they tie into the film itself. However, one thing I like about both is that each has a different spin on presenting Jack and setting up the character we know from the movie: in each tale, the conflict with Oogie results in some subtle foreshadowing and parallels to the misadventures Jack faces in the film. I’d recommend checking both out, in some form or another, and deciding which you prefer yourself.
Tumblr media
4. Twisted Wonderland.
Well, if you know me, you knew this had to be coming. I was over the moon when this Event was announced for the mobile game “Twisted Wonderland”: a game that is admittedly an acquired taste, but which I absolutely love to bits. For those who don’t know already, the premise of the game has the main character - the Player - being transported to an alternate universe, where they find themselves at a school of magic inspired by seven famous Disney Villains. Throughout the game, we encounter various characters based on these villains, along with other Disney characters…but it’s rare that we actually meet any of the original Disney figures themselves. When the Nightmare Before Christmas-themed Event for Halloween of 2024 - entitled “Lost in the Book with Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas” - was announced, it wasn’t too much of a surprise to learn that a new character would be introduced in the event: Skully J. Graves, based on Jack Skellington. What was much more startling was when we found out that not only would we get this new addition to the cast…but that the player and their allies for the outing would be traveling to Halloween Town itself to meet the ACTUAL Jack Skellington AT THE SAME TIME. For me, this was just mind-boggling: getting to see both the actual Jack AND a new character inspired by him in the same Event at the same time was never something I anticipated. The result did not disappoint: Jack is totally and completely in-character for the Event, and his interactions with the students of Night Raven College are a lot of fun. Skully, as well, is a very interesting character, and the twist about his true identity at the end was, I will confess, certainly unexpected. This isn’t an example that I imagine a lot of TNBC fans would place among their absolute favorite appearances for Jack, but it’s definitely a big one for me.
Tumblr media
3. Haunted Mansion Holiday.
This was Nightmare’s big arrival at the Parks, and it’s still one of the best things to come out of the film’s ever-rising popularity. In the early 2000s, Imagineers at Disneyland considered making a “Nightmare Before Christmas” attraction, but they weren’t sure how to go about it. The answer came in the form of a holiday overlay for the popular “Haunted Mansion” ride: ever since then, for a whole third of the year (almost half a year, if you count the time it takes to set it all up and then take it all down again), the Haunted Mansion is invaded by Jack Skellington and the denizens of Halloween Town, as they bring their own twisted Christmas delight to the home of the 999 Happy Haunts. While some people seem divided about this since-then-annual change to the famous attraction, most seem to enjoy both versions of the Haunted Mansion, and I am in agreement: the original ride is great on its own, and deserves to be enjoyed on its own terms (it’s my favorite ride at Disneyland), but the Holiday version with the TNBC cast is really fun and charming, too. Arguably the biggest highlight of the ride is Jack himself, most notably in the form of a magnificently-made animatronic of our favorite “Sandy Claws” that greets guests as they enter the graveyard for the ride’s finale. I used to be OBSESSED with this overlay, and I still love it a lot. I’m not the only one, either; the Holiday version remains popular, and has even been adopted into the Tokyo Disneyland Park. Japan has a huge following for TNBC…speaking of which…
Tumblr media
2. Oogie’s Revenge.
Released at the same time as the aforementioned “Pumpkin King,” this game (originally made in Japan, hence the segue) was a SEQUEL to the movie. And, just like “Pumpkin King,” it was considered canon by a lot of people for a long time, until recent printed work left that more ambiguous. (In this case a novel called “Long Live the Pumpkin Queen,” which I’ve yet to read.) The plot begins a little less than a year after the events of the film: Jack still feels dissatisfied with Halloween, but he’s thankfully learned that taking over other holidays is not a good idea. So, he instead ventures forth into the real world for a couple of months to basically do some brainstorming and find some inspiration to make his own holiday more interesting. When Jack returns (on Christmas Eve, what a shock), he discovers that Oogie Boogie has been resurrected and has taken over Halloween Town! When he learns that Oogie has plans to get revenge on Santa and become “The Seven Holidays King,” Jack has to find a way to take back his throne and undo all of Oogie’s evil schemes before Christmas morning. As far as Jack himself goes, the great boon this game has is the option of actually playing as Jack Skellington himself, and getting to use different forms of him with different powers to combat Oogie and his minions. Chris Sarandon - who has provided Jack’s speaking voice since the original film, and gets to SING for him, too, in this game (he ain’t half bad, either) - delivers all of the moods and sides of Jack throughout the story with his usual enthusiasm, and the chance to explore Halloween Town in such wild depth is really fun. The game itself seems to be one people love or hate; most agree it’s not the greatest game in the world (though most agree it’s also not terrible), but it seems to be a 50/50 split between people who overlook its flaws and enjoy it, and people who feel it’s a lackluster and overly bizarre spin-off to a classic picture. Personally, while I do see some issues with “Oogie’s Revenge,” I’ve always had a soft spot for this game, and I still do. It’s definitely one of Jack’s shining moments, in my personal opinion.
Tumblr media
1. Kingdom Hearts.
Given my love of the KH series as a whole, a lot of you probably saw this coming. However, I actually had a really hard time choosing between these games and “Oogie’s Revenge.” The greatest pro of “Oogie’s Revenge” is that Jack is the main character: you spend a lot of time with him, it’s all his story, and Chris Sarandon gets to sing as well as provide the voice in general. However, I think that - despite the fact Jack and his pals in Halloween Town (and Christmas Town) are only one small part of a much grander puzzle - the Kingdom Hearts series actually handles the character and his world slightly better…mostly just because of the writing. (And because they are better games, in general, when you really get down to it.) As far as Jack himself goes…honestly, I love how absolutely ADORABLE Jack is in the Kingdom Hearts universe. (How many undead skeletons can you call “adorable,” anyway? At the moment, I can only think of maybe four others…which is still a surprising number, honestly!) The games really lean hard into Jack’s childlike, exuberant, impulsive personality, but they also still give him elegance, charisma, and even touch onto a philosophical side we really haven’t seen anywhere else. Some of my favorite lines and moments in the games come from Jack, and of all the Disney allies Sora makes along the way, I think I enjoy his interactions with the Pumpkin King most of all. (He also isn’t too bad of a Party Member.) Sarandon delivers here just as powerfully as in Oogie’s Revenge, and a lot of the story-based elements I love about Jack’s character arc in OR are just as present in these games. Overall, while he may not be the star of the show, Jack is certainly a major highlight of these games. For me, and hopefully for many others, Kingdom Hearts will always be a shining moment in the King of Halloween’s career. It’s not an easy call, to be honest…but I’m gonna name Kingdom Hearts as My Favorite Appearance from Jack Skellington.
HONORABLE MENTIONS INCLUDE…
James and the Giant Peach.
While this is a totally non-canon appearance, Jack cameos as the leader of a band of skeleton pirates in this cult classic adaptation of the Roald Dahl story. I have no idea if this decision was made because of budget reasons or because Henry Selick (director of both TNBC and this film) was in a whimsical mood, but either way, it’s such a weird but fun one-off return.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.
A fireworks show performed around Halloweentime at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Jack acts as the host of the event, portrayed by a life-sized and absolutely immaculate puppet, crewed by multiple performers. This puppet has appeared in several other places since, including one of the “Nightmare Before Christmas Live” concerts!
What’s This? The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along.
Performed every Christmastime at Disney’s Hollywood-MGM Studios, this combination of stage pantomime and sing-along concert to some of the songs from the film is hosted by Jack. Our favorite Pumpkin King is played by the same great puppet that appears in the “Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” fireworks show!

This is going to be a long post, but I am posting my drawings that I have drawn in the past few days related to the theme of Duckvember in several ways. I drew mostly through redraw scenes, but in my own way in my own style.
The first drawing is actually a redraw of a scene from one of my favorite series "The Legend of The Three Caballeros" where the Three Caballeros hugged each other plus Clinton Coot, Donald's great grandfather who is sadly dead. Yes, it's from the episode "Mt. Fuji Whiz" where the Three Caballeros get stuck in the underworld, but luckily get out.
The second drawing is a redraw scene from the classic 1946 short "Donald's Double Trouble" in which Dapper Duck begs Daisy Duck instead of Donald, and I added Donald who is broken after seeing who is replacing Daisy's boyfriend.
The third drawing represents a redraw scene from the classic short "Donald's Dilemma" from 1947, in which Donald, after his head was smashed, completely changed his character and became a famous singer and avoids Daisy Duck and throws her a coin, but actually Daisy only wants Donald back. Yes, that classic short is very controversial because Daisy almost kills herself because she lost Donald. Eventually Donald returns to normal and Daisy Duck returns.
The fourth drawing represents a scene from the classic short "Donald's Crime" from 1945 in which Donald, who wants to propose and impress Daisy and who is unemployed, secretly takes a piggy bank from his sleeping nephews (Huey, Dewey and Louie).
The fifth drawing is a redraw of a scene from the propaganda classic short "The Spirit of '43" in which Donald is confronted with a good conscience (embodied in the good duck prototype Scrooge McDuck) and bad sin (embodied in the bad duck prototype Gladstone Gander) and who must understand that taxing the state is the only way to ensure the security and progress of the state as well as the supply of weapons, in the fight against the Nazis and other Axis powers. Yes, it's a propaganda cartoon drawn during World War II.
The sixth drawing is a redraw of a scene from the first Disney television series called "The Wonderful World of Color" in which Professor Ludwig von Drake is the main character and this is actually from a scene in "Inside Donald Duck" in which Ludwig is a psychiatrist and wants to solve the problems his nephew Donald has. Yes, it is from 1961.
Most of the classic shorts represented by these drawings were mostly directed by Jack King. I hope you like these drawings and these characters and that there are fans of the classic Donald Duck shorts.

Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo
Tumblr media
Genre: EXO AU
Characters: Kyungsoo x Female Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1,000
Summary: A sweet short story about Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo using adjectives that seem to fit him and that correspond to the letters in his name.
A/N: This kind of just happened, as I am very in my Valentine’s Day feels at the moment, so I hope you enjoy it.
**Disclaimers: This is just me using my imagination based on what I’ve seen of DKS via media, so not real just for funsies. Credit for GIFS and pics should go to the original owners ( thanks Amino Apps and Martha Stewart!)

K
From the start you were attracted to Kyungsoo’s KIND personality. He was always helping the staff complete tasks, worrying out whether they’d eaten. You respected that he cared so much about others. And of course, this extended to you. As an “acts of service” man, Kyungsoo spoiled you with small things that brightened your day–flowers after a routine trip to the grocery store, filling your car up with gas, and home-made lunch made with love. You felt giddy knowing Valentine’s Day was coming up soon and wondered what your sweet Soo would prepare.
Y
You sighed in sheer bliss as you bit into your second YUMMY éclair of the evening. Kyungsoo smiled at your adorable reaction and as always, appreciated your enthusiasm for his creations. Kyungsoo didn’t claim to be a baker, in fact, he preferred the savory side of cooking. But you loved baking and he loved spending time in the kitchen with you. These days your apartment was practically a boulangerie, with both of you having to fend off hungry members left and right. Valentine’s Day was just around the corner and Kyungsoo was more than ready to whip up a slew of delicious treats.
(A/N: Kyungsoo creates yummy things and is, himself, also very yummy 😉)
U
Growing up as a theater kid, you loved nothing better than a good musical. Why act out lines when you could sing them? With any live concert, musical, movie, or show, the most important thing was the voice. Honeyed vocal runs and the soulful sounds beat out dancing and stage presence anyday in your book. Not long after you’d started dating, Kyungsoo obliged a request to sing at a Christmas party. It was there that you were introduced to his UNIQUE singing voice, so different from any other that you’d heard before. Was he really a Disney prince in disguise? Sources said possibly. He could sing for you any time, any day, anywhere.
N
Gentle rays of sun bathed the rooftop deck in a warm glow. Kyungsoo hummed softly as he collected his treasures–cilantro, tomatoes, parsley, peppers, green beans–all home-grown from his little, urban garden. Working with his hands in the dirt brought Kyungsoo a measure of peace from his hectic work schedule. Kyungsoo was a NATURAL at nature–green-thumbed and incredibly enthusiastic. You…were not, but he somehow found that endearing. He pictured you sitting in the lounge chair nearby “supervising” as you munched on snap peas. It felt natural to have you here in his little veggie kingdom. Taking the fruits of his labor, he whistled happily down the stairs, off to prepare something special for his someone special.
G
“So tell me again, why is Kyungsoo picking you up from my place?” your friend, Suzy, wondered aloud. “I mean–you guys live together, so…” she trailed off after giving you that look. You shrugged, unsure of how to explain to this self-proclaimed non-romantic. “He just thought it would be more exciting…”. And it was. Truthfully, it felt like your first date all over again–good gosh, you were even getting nervous. A knock sounded at the door, spurring you to smooth your dress and check your hair one last time. The door opened to reveal a GALLANT suitor looking resplendent (read: ) in a dapper, black three-piece suit. Kyungsoo extended his hand, gently taking your hand and placing it on his arm. He led you to a sleek, black town car, and soon you were speeding down the highway.
S
It had been difficult, but Kyungsoo had managed to keep his Valentine’s Day plans a complete surprise. He was a SECRETIVE man by nature, his job demanded it, and it was easy to hide details about his personal life from those who weren’t important. You were important and it almost physically hurt to keep something from you. Though he’d almost slipped once or twice he was confident you had no idea what was about to happen. Sliding a blindfold out of his pocket he motioned for you to turn so that he could secure it into place.
O
Even though your world was dark, you weren’t afraid at all. Kyungsoo kept a warm hand on your back as he guided you up a set of stairs. A door squeaked and you were hit with a  rush of cool, night air. The soft, lilting tones of Ed Sheeran drifted through the night and you could swear you smelled Italian. Kyungsoo whispered in your ear, making you blush. He told you he loved you and was so very happy to spend another year with you. In the beginning, Kyungsoo hadn’t been so OPEN with his feelings. These days words of love spilled from his lips like wine, though you continued to treasure each one.
With a flourish, he removed the blindfold, revealing the most perfect setting you could imagine. Twinkling fairy lights lit up the familiar rooftop garden, a table set with gleaming silverware and fresh, white linens sat front and center. Pressing a kiss to your hand, Kyungsoo led you towards the table.
O
Kyungsoo couldn’t take his eyes off you. He observed as you savored the freshly baked bread rolls and twirled chicken fettuccine (your favorite) around your dainty fork, and inhaled a piece of divine dark chocolate cake. He knew you were wowed–the venue, the decorations, the food–you’d more than told him so. Yet, he was still unsettled, as he palmed the box hidden in his pocket. He was taking a big step–the step, in fact. He was OPTIMISTIC about his future with you, more than ready to truly have you as his own. After years of waiting, he’d finally have the love and warmth he so desperately craved. With shaking hands, he bent down on one knee…
You said yes. Of course you said yes. How could you ever say no to the love of your life? The newly added weight to your left hand was a constant reminder of the most perfect Valentine’s Day. You weren’t sure how you were going to top this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration, but you figured you were up for the challenge. After all, there would be many more to come.
~*~
Thank you for spending Valentine’s Day with Kyungsoo. I really enjoyed writing this one. Just fun imaginings and whatnot! Please re-blog if you enjoyed this too so that others can find it more easily. Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
XOXO,
Emmy

Small art dump!
Started doodling Sunny during school and then it evolved (though the suggestions of my friend) into Sunny the Disney Princess
He’s very well suited for the roll, imo!
That same friend also dared to draw Sun or Moon in a suit, so that’s where dapper Moon came from
Last one’s just a few doodles a did a few days ago that I liked! (Angry sun is so fun to draw help-)

Oh! I think I would have enjoyed picture shows in your day with the live music. Last year I went to Orlando to see Coco (Disney movie that takes place on Dia de los Muertos...you should recommend it to Charlie for a movie night!) in a huge theater...they had a live orchestra performing the score along with the film. It was wonderful! Music is everything, no? 🎶
I have acquired a gift for you and the hotel. I hope you like him. His name is Stanley and he is quite the dapper fellow. He knows some basic commands. Sit. Stay. CHOMP. You know, the usual.

I'm sure you would, darling! I shall tell Charlie about it, she does adore Disney movies! The last movie night was a bit of a disaster. I do hope this movie Coco shall redeem it. Music is everything! You're absolutely right!
Ah, he is quite a dapper fellow! Alastor pets Stanley on the head and glances up at Gator. Stanley makes a happy alligator noise. Thank you so much! His eyes sparkle when he looks down at Stanley. My, I have plans for you, my good gentleman!
