Recently finished reading the Scarlet Letter and designed this.

Dimmesdale is pathetic, but I can't help feeling bad for him. I also think he'd be hot. Anyway I had some free time so I designed this plushie of him! I actually think he would make a great plush, and his characterization lends itself very well to a plush- he is so soft, in every sense of the word, and I love his habit of putting his hand on his chest so I had to include it. And of course, the A-shaped scar on his chest which would be embroidered. His hair would be made of minky fabric and his robe out of velvet. His robe would also be removable for the purpose of displaying his scarlet letter and allowing it to be touched.

His appearance is mainly based on the 1926 silent film as well as my general interpretation of what he would look like. I gave him very fluffy hair as I just personally like that headcanon a lot.

Daybreak: On May Bell and Rose

The 5th and 6th courts of the Garden are here! It's hard for me to process that I'm halfway through talking about the individual courts, but I hope you're all looking forward to the second half of them!

just read the scarlet letter (yes the old one idk when it was published but its pretty old) and uh. i should not relate as much to Dimmesdale as i do. but oh. oh

people all across time have felt shame so deeply. even alone as i feel, others know and have known what it is to hide your shame and let it burn you alive.

Teaching Scarlet Letter right now and while I'm usually more in the "stop casting Chalamet in everything!" camp, I do think that at least as far as appearances are concerned, he'd be a pretty perfect Dimmesdale.

"He was a person of very striking aspect, with a white, lofty, and impending brow, large brown, melancholy eyes, and a mouth which, unless when he forcibly compressed it, was apt to be tremulous, expressing both nervous sensibility and a vast power of self-restraint. Notwithstanding his high native gifts and scholar-like attainments, there was an air about this young minister,—an apprehensive, a startled, a half-frightened look,—as of a being who felt himself quite astray and at a loss in the pathway of human existence, and could only be at ease in some seclusion of his own. Arthur Dimmesdale x reader headcanons

Just finished reading The Scarlet Letter and this piece of shit pathetic wet cat ended up being my favorite character. He sucks but god is he my type.

Cuddles with him are heavenly. He's so tender and passionate at the same time

God damn this dude is touch starved... he MELTS at the faintest touch and always begs for more

He has repressed his desire for love for so long he practically collapses when he finally gets it

Loves when his hair is touched

Surprisingly good kisser

Doesn't mind at all when you use his chest as a pillow, in fact it turns him on when you trace the 'A' that's been carved into it with your fingertips

He has a calming sort of energy around him, his soothing voice combined with his willingness to comfort anyone who needs it just exudes such a warm vibe

there was a jeopardy category called "books and arthurs" today and the first arthur from literature i thought of was arthur dimmesdale. the 200 dollar question was in fact about him! it gave his name and some stuff about him and asked for the name of the novel and when i said "the scarlet letter" my mom asked how i knew that and well i didn't say anything to her but just know you're the reason why i knew that 🤜🤛
