The latest installment of DJ John Digweed’s Quattro collections is just starting to hit shops, so while we wait for our copy to arrive, we thought we would revisit Quattro II on this week’s episode. We include several uptempo selections as well a couple more ambient trippy tracks from DJ/Producer Robert Babicz. As is often the case we go a completely different direction on Side B, with a nostalgic look back at late 80′s dancehall reggae with a conscience vibe. It was fun to hear some great vocals and riddims from the “golden age” before AutoTune ruined so much of it.
Side A
Howling at the Moon-Hank Williams Rust (Breaks Mix)-Stelios Vassaloudis Persuasion-Science Department Tracer-Emerson, Digweed, Muir Raise (Quivver Mix)-John Digweed & Nick Muir  Bizarre Color Bending-Robert Babicz Walking with Closed Eyes-Robert Babicz
Side B Til I’m Laid to Rest-Buju Banton Any Which Way Freedom-Mutabaruka Do Good-Yami Bolo, Joey Wales, Jack Radics, Charlie Chaplin Roots and Culture-Shabba Ranks Bam Bam-Chaka Demus & Pliers Santa Barbara-Taxi Gang I and I Survive (dub)-Burning Spear Brain Food (dub)-Burning Spear

Ghost Posters
So, while trying to get screenshots from Spark of Rebellion, I saw that the posters in the common room of the Ghost actually have translatable aurebesh on them!!
(Bonus weird Ezra)
Tumblr media
The red one on the right is an ad for the glorious Max Rebo himself!
Tumblr media
The orange one on the left I THINK just says Star Wars 😅
The pink one is a poster for DJ Rangthang, who was present when Quinlan Vos and Obi-Wan were talking to Jabba!
Tumblr media
And the blue poster is actually for a character named Dasha Sigweed, which is a joke about real life Global Underground musicians Sasha and Digweed.
Tumblr media
Thought it was interesting, especially since these are probably Sabine's posters and this is the type of music she would listen to!

So this is my Wednesday fleamarket finds. It started out basic. When I found Super Troopers 2 and an empty Switch case, both for $2.00. After that I found, quite a bit of nice stuff. An old lady had a table full of goods. Many in bad condition. But I still got decent stuff after checking them. Some good blurays! I've been holding back on buying a few of these new in hopes of finding them used. And patience paid off! And I also got some videogames too, a few have outer water damage and a few dusty. But I had hopes I would get a deal on them. I guess I did, as I paid $26 dollars for all.
Another seller had good media this week. He had like 5 or 6 milk crates full of music cds. A lot of people were going through them. And I saw they got good tunes. I took a look through one, and I grabbed a bunch of Electronic trance/dance music. Years ago I had some of these, but they got old and worn-out. But I recognized the font. So yeah I got them. And going through more boxes, I picked up some manga and comics. I tried real hard to find volume three of that manga, but no luck. I also found a Tokyo shock dvd. Those are weird movies but fun to collect. Speaking of weird. I also got a VHS of Saturday morning fox kids/ Saban Entertainment Beetle Borgs. That show was quite goofy, especially since they didn't have much to copy from it's Japanese source material. And all of this fine media cost me $23 dollars.

INFINITE DEEP PROGRESSIVE HOUSE MUSIC #AtoZ_HOUSE_MUSIC
youtube
Progressive house is a subgenre of electronic dance music (EDM) characterized by its uplifting melodies, layered textures, and gradual build-ups. Originating in the early 1990s, this genre emphasizes a more melodic and emotional approach compared to other house music styles. The music typically features a four-on-the-floor beat, extended breakdowns, and a focus on atmosphere. Tracks often progress through evolving musical phases, creating a sense of journey for the listener. Progressive house tracks are commonly between 125-130 BPM, making them suitable for both club settings and personal listening. The genre's pioneers include artists like Sasha, John Digweed, and Paul Oakenfold, who have contributed significantly to its development and popularization. Over the years, progressive house has evolved, incorporating elements from other genres such as trance and techno, further enriching its sound palette. Festivals like Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland often feature prominent progressive house artists, highlighting the genre's widespread appeal. Its hypnotic and euphoric qualities make it a favorite among DJs and dance music enthusiasts alike. Today, progressive house continues to thrive, with new artists and producers pushing the boundaries and keeping the genre fresh and exciting for global audiences.
