When looking at them, I think they’re adorable, but the moment I have to do them myself I’m reminded why Pin Curls of all sorts never really made it out of the 50s.

after the flood we move as synchronized swimmers. as if my porcine gait was made for your bovine two-step. out here the water does not cleanse. it indicts. whispers to the blood marred in mississippi soil: rise up. reveals this pasture to be sacrificial altar. here they still carve their sins into our flesh like a ledger. say it’s for all our salvation. say they can still taste the atlantic in our sweat. i guess some memories they can’t breed out of you. i begged for a rainwater baptismal. but my wake was a colostrum bloodbath. still. my soul is an estuary. she fills swamps. she soothes screams. still she dances calypso in the breeze.

♫ The Devil Went Down To Georgia ♫ (Redux)
Yeah, I know I just played this one back in December, but for some strange reason … hmmm 🤔 … it just seemed fitting to play it again tonight! As I’ve said on more than one occasion, I am not a fan of country music.  However, when a legend dies, no matter his field, he deserves to be honoured.  Charlie Daniels was a country music legend best known for his award-winning country hit The Devil Went…

Nobody Wants This (prod. Erin Foster & Craig DiGregorio).
Netflix's Los Angeles rom-com series offers sparkling chemistry between its leads, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, as a seemingly unlikely and mismatched romantic pairing. It's a fun portrait of adults struggling to balance healthy relationship dynamics while testing their more destructive tendencies. Loosely inspired by the Barely Famous star's experience dating then marrying a Jewish man, there's a purely enjoyable quality to the depth of the comedic performances that reflect and heighten identifiable elements of real life. We all deserve the mostly sexy and positive relationship depictions seen the wonderful new series.

Digregorio was embarassing tonight, felt like he took a day for vacation I swear. Perin would’ve saved at least two goals, and Danilo was embarassing. Kenan was very good, hope he has this kind of explosion next games as well
I disagree!! Digre was amazing!! He literally saved lots of goals… if you talk about the penalties then Zielinski did very good. The main problem was Danilo tonight, like crazy embarrassing
Kenan is a gem 💎

This is going to be insane. Come join us for a special screening of the documentary, Of Men & Bombs, at 7 p.m., September 23, with filmmaker and desert journalist Michael DiGregorio present to introduce the film and conduct a Q&A afterward.
Go with the scrappers and range runners as they head out onto the Chocolate Mountains Aerial Gunnery Range, east of Niland on the Salton Sea, to find scrap to recycle. It's one of the more wild, and real, documentaries out there.

♫ The Devil Went Down To Georgia ♫ (Redux)
♫ The Devil Went Down To Georgia ♫ (Redux)
Given that Georgia has been on my mind for several weeks now, no more so than last night when the Georgia runoff election took place, I was going to play Ray Charles’ Georgia on my Mind today, but I realized I played it just a year ago, so I opted for this one that I’ve played only once, two years ago on the day after Charlie Daniels’ death (July 6, 2020) as rather a tribute to him. As I’ve said…

ID: Slow-Cooker Cauliflower, Potato and White Bean Soup By Sarah Digregorio and a picture of some tasty looking thick beige soup sprinkled with chives, cheese, and chips.
i got my mother the NYT Cooking subscription as a gift and we are REALLY enjoying this shit, do you know how fucking wild it is to look up a recipe and not see three banner ads, four in-line ads, and a video turtorial you have to click out of
anyway i'm making this today in the slow cooker and its still cooking but MAN the broth tastes fucking AMAZING so fuck paywalls
Tumblr media
INGREDIENTS
1 pound Yukon gold potatoes, scrubbed, peeled and cut into 1- to 2-inch chunks
1 pound cauliflower, chopped into large bite-sized florets and stems
2 (15-ounce) cans cannellini beans, drained
½ yellow onion, minced
3 garlic cloves, smashed and minced
3½ cups vegetable stock
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons dry white wine
1 sprig fresh thyme or ½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Coarse kosher salt and black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice (about ¼ lemon)
8 ounces sour cream (1 cup), at room temperature
½ cup chopped chives (about 1 small bunch)
Potato chips, preferably sour cream and onion, for topping
Shredded Cheddar, for serving
STEP ONE
In a 6- to 8-quart slow cooker, combine the potatoes, cauliflower, beans, onion, garlic, vegetable stock, butter, wine, thyme, garlic powder and 1½ teaspoons kosher salt. Cover and cook until the vegetables are very tender, about 8 hours on low.
STEP TWO
Remove and discard the thyme sprig, and turn off the slow cooker. Add the lemon juice. To make a completely smooth and creamy soup, purée the ingredients using an immersion blender. (Or, purée the soup in a blender in two batches, transferring the puréed soup to a different pot.) To make a textured, chunky soup, smash the ingredients using a potato masher in the slow cooker. Stir in the sour cream and chives. Taste and add additional salt if necessary. Serve in bowls topped with black pepper, crushed potato chips and shredded Cheddar. For leftovers, gently reheat the soup on the stovetop or in the microwave until it just barely bubbles around the edges; don’t let it boil or the sour cream will break.
