Limerence.

That bittersweet obsession, that dizzying high that crashes into a heartache when you’re loving someone from so far away. it’s not just “liking” them; it’s this maddening, hypnotic pull. A chemical longing, like the feeling of needing air but finding yourself underwater, breathless. that’s limerence—this intense, almost involuntary fixation where nothing feels like enough. I could drown in every word you send, scroll through every photo you share, play your voice notes on loop, and still, it wouldn’t fill this endless need for more.

Limerence wants you not just in thought but in skin and bone. It’s this fire where texts aren’t warm enough, screens aren’t close enough.

I want you beside me, breathing the same air, where your laughter doesn’t get lost in pixels. I need to feel the weight of you here, the electric calm that happens when souls touch in the same place, the kind of closeness that even words can’t hold.

It’s beautiful and terrifying, this craving, this desire to turn “someday” into now. Because limerence isn’t patient.

It doesn’t care about distance or reason; it just hums through the heart like a song you can’t unhear. Soon, soon, soon.

and i’ve deleted you on facebook.

i wonder if you wish you knew

that i’m writing again

that i dyed my hair

that i wear black lipstick and gold hoops.

i haven’t unblocked you out of prideful frailty

but i’ve conscientiously kept up the virtual appearances

one is lured to, follow parting.

i made up with the right friends,

posted pretty selfies,

changed my make-up just rightly.

i smiled widely in pictures

and avoided sharing sad poetry.

but you don’t know.

you don’t know that

i was torn the other day

that i changed therapists

that i’m playing keyboards in a rock band

yesterday,

my friend sent me a screenshot

of your new profile picture.

you looked good.

healthy and polished,

probably my opposite these days.

and you don’t know

that i sway to heartbreak pop at midnight

that i lost my mother’s ring

that on one cold night in london i sat beneath the twinkling lights and i thought

i knew who i was

i think i miss you,

but i’ve almost forgotten you.

i haven’t read your carefully written captions

and i haven’t seen your moles in over a year.

erasing each other from our social media

was a cleansing process.

i can’t even remember why we drifted apart.

i’m just pissed that you haven’t seen me blossoming,

because you unfollowed me on instagram.

and you won’t ever know

that i quit drinking coffee

that i learnt to swim

that i threw myself in the sea, wearing the dress you liked,

and the dress stuck to my thighs

and for once

i ceased to feel unwanted

like your casual distance used to make me feel.

There's a theory, okay, no, it's the reality. I have played it. In jumin's route, on one of his days, if you call Seven at night time, you will find him crying and basically fourth-wall expressing how heartbroken he is over you choosing Jumin over him this time. Theory is that the call is only available if you've played his route before or prior to playing Jumin's route. So this poetry is written from pretty boy Saeyoung's point of view in those times, when he is watching you play his route. A little tribute I made years ago.
