where is that image of 90s starscream from? is it a zine? its so cool to see older fandom stuff
Yep! Longtime followers of this blog know that I am obsessed with collecting and making archives of Ye Olde TF Fandom Stuff wherever I can (though with the exceptions of some con zines from the 00s, most of the stuff I have personally collected is from trawling wayback machine stuff from fansites).
That particular image is from a 1999 issue of Auto-Update, a zine that began in 1993 and which was, miraculously, preserved (in .gif format) online via a fansite. This is courtesy of the work @polyhexian put into the TF zine-and-fanwork archive:
-which, if you are looking for archived old TF fandom content, is a great place to start. I was able to contribute a few old online things to it, but Nate did the important work there especially regards physical zines. (Which, I was actually once provided a zine directory from the 90s which included TF stuff that had estimated circulation numbers- while I expect stuff like The Continued Generation 2 had a few more, a lot of the TF zines, of which there were shockingly many, had circulations in like... the sub-50s level. It's no easy feat finding this shit, scans or for sale, lmao.)
In particular, there's a backup of the whole digitized archive that was made available for Auto-Update online, though some of it is very hard to read. (I keep meaning to go through and do more transcription of the really dire stuff; I'm pretty good at that, I just haven't found the time.) I highly recommend taking a Sunday afternoon to trawl it. Absolute time capsule of a very unique fandom history.

Hi!! I love your art!! Please tell us more about your OC 🥲 💕 Also what equipment do you use? Any good (kind of affordable) tablet/computer/software/brush recs for someone who wants to get into digital art!!
for tablets, i've been using huion's inspiroy H1161 for about 4 years now, and i previously used a monoprice tablet (i have a quick review & comparison of it with wacom here). there are tablets with and without displays, and even if you're interested in a display tablet, i'd still recommend starting with a basic drawing tablet just to get used to things and see how you like it. i've found that i personally don't like drawing on display tablets, which is great bc display tablets are expensive
for art programs, you can start with free programs to get used to things (like krita, firealpaca, etc--i haven't used them myself so i don't have personal recs) or paid programs like paint tool sai (my old favorite) or clip studio paint (which i use currently, and they run sales periodically so you can get it at a discount)
out of the paid programs, paint tool sai is more approachable and beginner friendly. clip studio paint can be pretty intimidating as a first-time art program, was intimidating to me when i first got it, and i'm still learning new things about it. what really led me to switch from sai to csp though is the 3d model support (which is what lets me make these) and the expansive asset library (which has brushes, 3d models, textures, auto functions, etc). some assets are paid, but plenty are free, and csp occasionally gives away "clippy" that you can use to buy paid assets
and about radri, aw thank you for asking! hmm, idk what to say that hasn't been said... she's just really shy and afraid and cringe but in kind of a cute way (to me). i just think it's funny for her to have such a terrifying reputation and then you meet her in person and she's struggling to catch the innkeeper's attention to book a room
#sovo answers#pov you're an assassin trying to strike up a ''i'm going to kill you >:)'' conversation with her but she keeps slipping away#and avoiding eye contact bc she's afraid you're going to ask her for directions and she does Not want the pressure of answering#and when you're finally like 'i'm TRYING to kill you!!' she gives a sigh of visible relief before absolutely murdering you#art tips#radri of candlekeep

Chapter Seven - First time for everything
Bucky Barnes Mob AU x Femme Reader
You're hard at work in Pepper's Bakery when notorious mob boss James 'Bucky' Barnes darkens your doorway one typical afternoon, and life is never the same again.
18+ - see Masterlist for full list of warnings
Chapter 8
Series Masterlist
Back at your apartment that evening, you distractedly pick at your dinner with your fork as you scroll on your phone. The rest of your day had passed smoothly. Wanda had rushed back to the front after Bucky left, just as shocked as you were about how that had gone. You could tell she was concerned, worried about just what exactly you were letting yourself in for.
You were too.
There had been no accompanying SUVs on your journey home and you had decided to trust Bucky when he told you the trailing had stopped, but you couldn’t help the occasional peek over your shoulder to be sure.
You’d fallen down into a bit of a rabbit hole, scouring the web for anything and everything on James ‘Bucky’ Barnes. There were thousands of results. News articles, forum posts, photos, social media speculation, court transcripts. Violence, corruption, notoriety. It seemed he’d cleaned up his act in recent years, exploring more legitimate business options than mob activity – formal luncheons and galas rather than shoot outs and cement shoes. He had multiple companies in his name and owned a smattering of businesses throughout the city and along the east coast. Auto shops, nightclubs, construction. Still, there were suggestions that he wasn’t entirely on the straight and narrow – with accusations of fronts and money laundering littered across the web, although nothing proven. Occasionally his business rivals seemed to disappear into thin air, their digital trail coming to an abrupt end with a small news article about them going missing and police 'doing everything they can'.
You shuddered as you considered the implications.
But he also did a lot of good. He donated generous sums to philanthropic causes and charities. He ran fundraising events and sat on non-profit boards. He’d opened a centre for children in one of the city’s most deprived boroughs, and regularly paid college tuition for bright teens whose families couldn’t front the cash themselves.
He clearly enjoyed the finer things that his line of work provided. There were endless pictures of his sports cars, sprawling property and bespoke Italian suits. He was often photographed at the finest restaurants in the city, beautiful women on his arm basking in the paparazzi’s attention.
It was dizzying, intimidating. Worlds away from your rented modest one bed apartment and IKEA furniture, your simple job, your $30 hoodies and Target undies. A fancy night out for you was the local sushi restaurant, or vodka sodas at a dive bar with Wanda. You could barely afford a side salad at some of the places Bucky frequented.
One listicle that got your attention had the headline “The Dating History of the Notorious James Barnes”. It was an endless inventory of photographs of gorgeous women – socialites, models, It girls…the occasional actress. Each more beautiful than the last, long legs and perfect bone structures, draped in expensive gowns and showing off flawless updos. The kind of women who never seemed to have a bad hair day or a hormonal zit outbreak, just relentlessly glamorous and immaculate. The article spoke about his known womanising, his playboy reputation cemented as he became linked to more and more beauties.
You felt foolish. Here you were shamelessly flirting with Bucky, fantasising about him, giddy with excitement that he’d asked for your phone number. You were nothing like these women, you couldn’t compete with them, or his chic lifestyle. You felt embarrassed for letting yourself get caught up, for briefly thinking you could fit into his world.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a buzzing on the table. Your phone is ringing, an unknown number. You sigh - probably a robot sales call but you answer it regardless.
“Hello?”
“Evening, Doll” comes a low voice from the other end.
You jump to your feet, your chair squeaking on the floorboards as you feel yourself go rigid. You’re hyper alert, fleetingly guilty as if he is somehow aware of your web sleuthing. Not that he could be annoyed even if he knew, he’d done his homework on you – you could do yours on him.
“Oh…Bucky, hey” you respond timidly as you settle back down in your seat.
He chuckles. “Not quite the enthusiastic response I’d hoped for”.
“Sorry…I was expecting a robocall”.
“A what?”
“Oh you know…one of those automated spam calls you get? They always have a weird robot voice”.
He chuckles again, his laugh is syrupy and smooth and sends sparks through you. “Well, sorry to interrupt your big plans for the evening”.
You know he’s just teasing but in light of everything you’ve just read you cringe, it just further highlights how quiet your life is in contrast to his.
“What can I help you with, Bucky?” you ask tentatively, sitting back down in your chair.
“I’d like to put in a custom order” he says smoothly.
Your stomach drops slightly, disappointed this seems to be a business call rather than a personal one, but not surprised.
“Oh right, sure” you lean over the table to grab a pen and paper.
“What are you looking for? We do 6-12 inch cakes in any flavour you want – we can write personalised messages in the icing too. Or we have cupcakes…”
“No...no Doll…not that” he protests.
You wriggle in your chair, moving your phone to your other ear. “Ah…um….wha-”
“I’d like a date with the store manager. Maybe Friday, at Gambino’s…say 8pm?” he purrs.
You flush as your heart soars, hardly believing what you’re hearing. A date? With you? You’ve never been to Gambino’s but it’s fancy. Fancy fancy.
“Oh!” you utter in surprise. “Um…are you sure?”
“I’m always sure, Doll” he fires back without missing a beat. You’re glad you’re already sitting down.
You pause for a moment, not quite believing this is happening and that he has asked you out. Those thoughts of him come flooding back. You imagine what his mouth feels like…what it would be like to be held in his arms…how his stubble might scratch against your cheek…
“You still with me?” he asks, breaking you out of your daydream.
You open your mouth to speak. Yes. Yes of course, Bucky! You want to say. I’d love to! I can’t wait!
But then you think about that article, all those beautiful women. Those expensive suits. The fancy cars. The paparazzi clamouring for shots of him. You imagine yourself on his arm, your modestly priced evening dress making you stick out like a sore thumb amongst the well-heeled clientele. You imagine the slick restaurant staff giving you a double take, surprised at Bucky’s choice of girl for the evening, raising an eyebrow at you. You imagine that you use the wrong fork, mistake the palate cleanser for dessert, stumble on your cheap heels on the way to the bathroom. You see Bucky, meticulous and assured Bucky who likes everything just so, embarrassed that his date doesn’t understand the unwritten rules of this scene. There’s practically an illuminated sign above your head – a big arrow pointing down to you – She doesn’t belong.
You want to stay in your small bubble with him, harmlessly flirting together in the bakery where the stakes are low and you’re in control. The prospect of the next step, venturing out into the world with him, dipping your toes into the pool of the mob and all that comes with it – is just too daunting.
“Uh…I’m sorry Bucky, I don’t think that would be a good idea” you finally reply, your voice meek and resigned. You don’t even sound like yourself.
There’s silence on the line and you briefly wonder if the call has disconnected until he clears his throat.
“No problem” he growls.
You can hear the barely restrained anger in his voice. You realise Bucky Barnes must not be used to hearing “no”. Certainly not from women.
“I-” you try to respond, you want to tell him the truth – that you feel uncomfortable, that you don’t fit into his world – either of them, not the mob one and not the affluent businessman one either. Regardless of how much you might want to.
“It’s fine” he interrupts sternly. “Have a good evening”.
He hangs up. You stare at your phone in disbelief for a short while, willing him to call you back so you can tell him you’ve made a mistake.
*
Bucky slams his phone down onto the mahogany table so hard it cracks the screen. His anger swells, furious and embarrassed at your rejection. He was so sure that you were on the same page when the two of you had spoken earlier. You seemed to have forgiven him for the tracking and he must be getting rusty as he was sure he was picking up all the right signals from you. He was so looking forward to getting to know you better, away from the prying ears of his men and Wanda. He wanted to hear that laugh of yours again – outside of your workplace and unrestrained when you were off the clock. He wanted to treat you to a nice meal, make you feel special with the finest food New York had to offer. Maybe later take you home and get to know you even more intimately...
This is why he shouldn’t flirt unless he knows for sure that it’s a done deal.
“That went well” mutters Steve from the desk across the room, not looking up from his paperwork.
Bucky ignores him, rolling his eyes and adjusting his shirt sleeve as he sits down.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen before…” Steve smirks. “First time for everything, I guess”.
“Shut up” barks Bucky, tracing the big crack in his phone screen with his finger as he huffs in frustration.
Steve looks over at his best friend. Bucky is fidgeting awkwardly, he looks as if he’s physically trying to shake it off, cracking his neck and attempting to concentrate on his computer screen.
“Can you arrange for this to be fixed please?” Bucky says bluntly, gesturing to his broken phone as his eyes remain on the monitor.
“This girl has really done a number on you, hasn’t she?” Steve smirks.
Bucky meets his eye. His face is stony, livid.
“What did I just say…” he warns.
Steve holds up a hand in surrender. “Sorry. Just…I can’t remember the last time a woman got you this riled up, is all…”
Bucky ignores him again, sighing as he reaches for his whisky tumbler.

hey, i was wondering if you had any advice on starting a shop as a crippled artist? i'm mainly thinking of making digital designs but redbubble kind of sucks lol. although it would be cool to sell jewelry too (your jewelry inspires me a lot!), i just don't know how to go about it.
sorry for the delayed reply! thanks for sending an ask! i love your blog!
it's challenging, but worth it if you can find a niche. selling physical goods can be taxing at times, but there are some free resources. UPS and USPS give free mailing supplies in the United States. Etsy is tricky to sell on. they charge you 0.20 USD for every listing you make, every 3 months, iirc. they have better organic foot traffic so you have to do less advertising, but they also take a bigger cut out of every sale. that's why things are so obscenely expensive on there. ko-fi is good for physical goods , but you have to generate your own labels and shipping prices. eBay is really nice for selling collectables, old clothing items that are no longer wanted, video games, etc. and honestly is my favorite to use out of all of them. generates its own foot traffic as well and if its something like a video game it can auto generate most of the info for you
selling IRL is really hard. its really physically taxing because you have to lug stuff around everywhere. you need a license or permit to be able to sell things IRL anywhere most of the time, and also permission from a business, and usually they want to charge you a fee for selling on their property. i did IRL markets for a while and they weren't worth it. the organizers are generally bad at advertising, which shouldn't be your #1 concern. it only really works if the organizers do a good job of advertising
selling digital goods like art and zines is a bit easier. ko-fi makes this extremely simple. i use medibang as my image editing software currently. typesetting can be a pain, and some people may find it monotonous, but i find that bundling my writing into zines helps me focus and stay on track. i like digital zines the best. handwriting makes my hand cramp up within moments of grabbing a pen or pencil. typing is really where it's at for me. but digital arts and goods are much easier to sell by far than physical ones
redbubble and cafepress are snitches for things like royalty free art and clip art, so if you plan on selling through them, sometimes you can't even use stock fonts or they'll nuke your entire store. also they take *massive* and i mean MASSIVE cuts from every sale. dropshipping sites are difficult to work with. if you wanna make buttons, pins, shirts, etc. this is the cheapest way to do so but both of these sites absolutely gouge you. and refuse to pay out until you get absurdly high amounts of sales. its why i don't promote my cafepress much even though i like my designs. i do NOT see anything from those sales. i see under $1 from every sale.
i hope that can be of some help to you! take care of yourself, glad you stopped by! feel free to ask any more questions you may have! appreciate you and your blog!

Leading Thieves Say Millennials and Zoomers "Ruining the Crime Industry"
A variety of criminals have spoken out over the past few weeks, saying that crime just doesn't pay like it used to because Millennials and Gen-Z-ers are so broke, they have nothing of value to steal.
Stephen "Fingers" Gilligan, Pickpocket: Pickpocketing has been on the decline in America for a while, but it's getting ridiculous now. Nobody carries cash anymore, and even cards aren't paying out. The other day I stole a wallet with five debit cards, and all but one of them declined. The last one had just enough to buy a Sierra Mist from a vending machine. That was my second best score all week. The best was a $40 Olive Garden gift card and a crumpled, discolored $5 bill that I had to use archeological techniques to retrieve without it disintegrating in my hand.
Burt Crustman, Mugger: Man, nobody walks through dark alleys at night since the pandemic hit, and when they do? Jackshit. The only valuable anyone under 40's got on them these days is their phone. Admittedly lotsa people have $3000 phones, but you know what the market for fencing iPhones is like? It's shit! Everybody's buying new phones because their phone's the only nice thing they can afford!
Monty Derailleur, Bike Thief: Well the bike theft business would be going good, if people ever used the bikes they bought. The sales are high, but the fact of the matter is, the bike lanes around here are shitty or nonexistent, there's no room to take them on the bus, and there's no bike racks so everybody knows it's gonna get stolen.
Jerry Rigby, Car Thief: I don't know what you're talking about, Grand Theft Auto is booming. There's $75,000 pickups, $60,000 SUVs, $100,000 Teslas, and most people can't even afford to buy a used car legally so fencing's never been easier. The reason it's hard for those of us in the business is twofold. First, too many people living out of their cars. Second, the competition. You see a nice car parked somewhere, you gotta be on it like that, or the fucking illegal towing rackets will beat you to it. It's nearly impossible to make a living as an independent car thief.
Dwayne Pipe, Burglar: The only reason to be breaking and entering in the post-Pandemic years if to use somebody's shower. I swear to god, half the time when I break into a place, the only furniture is a mattress on the floor and a mid-sized computer monitor as a TV, and those are only good for scrap because with planned obsolescence the way it is, they have a life expectancy of about 6 weeks after theft. To be honest with you, I'm running a loss on most jobs. The only reason I haven't gone straight is because all the legal jobs pay jackshit too. That, and I really like replacing people's family photos with pictures of Nicholas Cage.
Brittlyghn McKannyck, Shoplifter: Shoplifting these days is a hobby, not a career. Half the time the stores are too understaffed to even stock the shelves, and if they're not, everything's locked up. I had to get a guy to unlock a magnetic tag on a box of Crispix the other day. If I didn't live with my parents, there's absolutely no way shoplifting full time would be viable.
Norman Gore, Master Hacker and Identity Thief: Scamming people out of their financial info or cracking passwords has never been easier, but the scores just aren't worth it. I keep getting into bank accounts that pending overdraft fees. It's pathetic. I have to leave the lights off so my hacker den's only lit by the monitors, and type on three or four keyboards at once to hack enough people to make ends meet.
Jack Gazebo, Digital Pirate: Oh my fucking God, people, stop paying for streaming! Learn to torrent! I'm telling you, man, this generation just doesn't have the technological literacy to pirate media.
Captain Tom Stillcutt, Analog Pirate: Let me tell ye something, matey, it be a sad day for piracy. No more galleons laden low with gold doubloons, rum, and exotic spices, nay, it be all scurvy container ships full o' mass produced plastic now. Me last prize was a forty foot container loaded full of over a hundred thousand Funko Pops, en route from the East Indies. The worst part of it was as the cap'n I gets a double share o' the booty, whether I want it or not. I've been makin' one walk the plank every day, and my cabin's still full of the blasted things. Shiver my timbers, I hate these damned Zoomers! At least the ones in me crew are happy.
Geraldo Cardamom IV, Gentleman Thief: The economy's just horrible for heists these days. Art heists? Jewelry theft? All the rich idiots are blowing their money on crypto, NFTs, and custom furniture from hipster woodworking YouTubers. Nobody just has a gallery in their house with priceless antiques in glass cases below a conveniently placed skylight, or millions of dollars in cash and gold bullion in vaults behind secret doors with seven different elaborate locking mechanisms anymore. Nobody secures their valuables with networks of criss crossing laser motion sensors. The only guys with that kind of money are assholes like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, and they don't have the sense of style for that. They just hire a bunch of assholes with guns.
Carmen San Diego, Legend: You must be joking, right? The reason I retired is because the infrastructure in this country is so dilapidated it's impossible to move it without it disintegrating. My last heist was "stealing" the World's Largest Pothole in Lansing, Michigan. I lifted the entire six lane wide, fifteen foot deep pothole out of the ground, disassembled it, and shipped it across the country to a warehouse in Las Vegas, then filled in the hole with pristine asphalt so it looked like it was never there. Nobody investigated. Nobody came after me. The city threw a parade in my honor. It didn't even take a month before my record holding pothole was dethroned by one in Cleveland, leaving me with nothing but a bunch of dirt, crumbling asphalt, and broken dreams. That's when I realized it was time to call it quits. Well, maybe the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid, but it already looks stupid enough in the middle of Tennessee that the only way stealing it would be funny is if I put it in the original Memphis.

BTS Tutorial: Pandora's Unlimited Looping
As Whoopi Goldberg once famously said in the movie Ghost: "You in danger, girl." Many chart accounts on Twitter are saying our streams have Jimin dropping out of the Top 20 already.
Looping on Pandora is a crucial strategy at a critical time when YouTube is deleting views, radio is reluctant, and our Spotify playlists must support several members. We must make use of all tools available.
Please read this post and share the link to this tutorial with all big accounts and your social media. We need all hands on deck.
Pandora is an old and trusted streaming service that counts for Billboard charts.
If you have a free 90-day premium trial, it lets you make your own playlist that you can loop for 24 straight hours without clicking around or signing in.
Here's why you don't want to just use the free version:
--the streams count three times LESS than premium streams
--Pandora will auto-play other songs in between the songs you want
--there are constant ads you have to sit through to get to a song
So just bite the bullet and use a free trial. It's good for months and they will remind you before you get charged!
Okay, so, let's assume you've been a good ARMY and you've made your free premium Pandora account.
You want to start straight away searching for songs to save into MY COLLECTION.
Today, we need to make a playlist to promote Face--specifically Like Crazy. (We can also use this strategy later to help all of BT'S songs. Our goal right now is to prevent freefall in Week 3 before D-Day is out. But this will be good practice for all our boys once we get it down pat, especially if YouTube doesn't get straightened out!)
My playlist looks like this:
Now look here. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. We know Like Crazy is 3:32 minutes long. In theory, you could loop this song 410+ times in a day and all those plays will count. We know that 150 premium streams is the equivalent of buying the song once, so looping like this is like buying the song twice that day.
THIS IS HOW WE BEAT THE DROP IN SALES AND CULLED VIEWS.
I am not saying you shouldn't buy. You should. In fact, both SHERRY and JIMIN FUNDS will be prioritizing Like Crazy digitals in Week 3, so please buy if you are US/PR ARMY and can make new accounts!
Either way, when you make a Pandora playlist of all of Jimin's Like Crazy versions, remember to click that loop button once on the bottom ribbon:
And then just sit back every day and let those streams pour in.
Puppykitties, I know you must be so tired. I have an eyestrain migraine a mile wide and am not supposed to be on the computer right now. I'm certain the last thing you want to do is delve into making new accounts when you're already working hard.
Word on the street is that using Pandora WORKS WONDERS:
We already know this is a tried and true technique for other K-pop fandoms whom I will not be mentioning here. I appreciate their hard work and respect the knowledge they've earned. Please leave them alone. ARMY needs to focus on BTS and make good use of the techniques they have learned.
For visual learners, here's an instructional video on setting up Pandora, but honestly, it's pretty intuitive.
youtube
PLEASE COPY THE LINK TO THIS TUTORIAL AND SEND IT TO EVERY MAJOR JIMIN-SUPPORTING ACCOUNT YOU KNOW ON TWITTER AND TUMBLR.
I know we have some very important conversations that need to be had, but I strongly feel we need to put shipping and solo discourse aside right now. We are losing precious time because ARMY is reluctant to use this app. But we cannot maintain buying records like we did for the first two weeks of Face.
We NEED to use Pandora--in addition to requesting radio play and using Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube, and Facebook-- and hope those streams supplement sales drops.
Please do not abandon any platform even if they frustrate you. I'm just saying I don't think I can over-emphasize how crucial Pandora is going to be for Week 3 for Jimin. And isn't Jimin what unites us all?
I really, really need your help to get all major Jimin accounts familiarized and on board with this, so Jimin fans can hop on Pandora early this week and go hard. It is the most effective use of our energy right now.
FIGHTING!
Love, Roo

Why Are Social Games Are More Than Just Playing: The Community Impact
Hello again! :D I hope everyone is doing well <3
Online gaming communities play a vital role in the digital age, transforming gaming from an individual pastime into a shared social activity. With improved technology and widespread internet access, players can interact, connect, and work together with like-minded gamers. This evolution has reshaped social interactions and strengthened connections within the gaming world.
What is Social Gaming? 👩🏻💻
A brief explanation of what social gaming is :)
Social gaming refers to online games that are designed to be played with or against other people, often through social networks, online communities, or mobile apps. Unlike traditional single-player games, social games encourage interaction among players, promoting social connections, collaboration, and competition. These games are typically more casual and accessible, allowing people of various skill levels to participate and enjoy the experience together.
It is also important to note that social media has played a pivotal role in shaping social gaming in recent years, transforming gaming into a more community-centered and interactive experience.
Gamers have various reasons for playing. A 2023 report from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) highlights that some of the main motivations include having fun, passing the time, and relieving stress. Regardless of their reasons, many gamers are able to experience the benefits of gaming.
The Cultural Impact of Gaming 🕹️
Gaming has evolved significantly from its beginnings and has had a major influence on our culture. It’s no longer just a pastime; it’s become a way of life, shaping music, fashion, and even communication. Gaming has developed its own unique language, complete with specific terms and slang.
One of the greatest cultural impacts of gaming is its ability to unite people. It has enabled individuals from around the world to connect and interact, creating a space for communities to form and share experiences. Online gaming allows players to meet and play with others from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and countries, breaking down barriers and fostering understanding between people who may never have crossed paths otherwise.

Gaming has also influenced the entertainment industry, becoming a major source of entertainment that competes with movies and TV shows in both popularity and revenue. The gaming industry is now worth billions, with titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 each earning over a billion dollars in sales. Additionally, gaming has grown into a popular spectator sport, with esports tournaments drawing millions of viewers globally.
One of the most profound effects gaming has had on our culture is its ability to spark creativity and innovation. It has nurtured some of the world’s most inventive minds, with many game developers later becoming entrepreneurs and founding companies that have transformed industries. Gaming has also driven the development of new technologies and inventions, such as virtual reality headsets and motion-sensing controllers.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic 😷
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, social interaction was restricted by government mandates and business closures, including schools, workplaces, restaurants, and gyms. The stay-at-home orders that followed significantly reduced opportunities for in-person interactions.
The restriction on in-person interactions had significant societal effects. Social interaction and support are crucial for positive emotional well-being, while isolation and loneliness can negatively impact mental health.
During the period of social distancing, online social gaming became a safe and accessible source of entertainment and interaction.
The Positive Impacts of Social Media on Community-Building in Gaming 💆🏻♀️
Social media has brought significant improvements to the gaming industry, offering players a platform to connect and form communities. Social media allows players to share their gaming experiences and connect with others worldwide, fostering a sense of inclusivity and belonging within the gaming community.
Furthermore, social media offers game developers a direct way to engage with their audience, making it evident that it plays a crucial role in the growth and success of the gaming industry.
Building Connections! 🌏
Online gaming communities bring people together through shared interests, often focusing on specific games or genres like first-person shooters, role-playing games, or strategy games. Connecting with others who share a passion for the same games can be highly rewarding, providing opportunities to exchange strategies, share tips, and build friendships with those who understand their enthusiasm.
Furthermore, online gaming communities have broken geographic barriers, uniting people from various cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. This creates a diverse and global gaming environment, offering players new perspectives and promoting inclusivity and understanding.
Teamwork! 💪🏼
In many online games, teamwork and collaboration are key to success in many online games, requiring players to join forces to complete quests, achieve objectives, or overcome opponents. This focus on cooperation fosters social interaction and helps players develop interpersonal skills, as they must communicate, coordinate strategies, and support one another to reach their goals.
Collaborative gameplay helps players develop important skills like leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication. These abilities can be applied to real-life situations, enhancing social interactions beyond gaming.
Emotional Support 🫂
Online gaming communities offer a sense of belonging and support to individuals who may feel isolated or overlooked in other parts of their lives. These spaces allow gamers to connect with others who share their interests and provide emotional encouragement, which can be especially helpful for those dealing with social anxiety or challenges in forming connections in traditional social settings.
Gaming communities provide a space for forming lasting friendships and meaningful connections. Many include forums, chat rooms, and social media groups where members can discuss not only gaming but also personal topics. These platforms often become places for sharing experiences, seeking advice, or enjoying casual conversations.
Challenges ⚔️
Despite the benefits of online gaming communities, they also come with challenges, particularly the risk of toxic behavior and online harassment. The anonymity provided by online platforms can lead some individuals to act abusively towards others, negatively affecting the gaming experience and deterring people from engaging in these communities.
To combat this problem, many gaming platforms have introduced strict rules to encourage respectful behavior and penalize offenders. Players are also urged to report harassment or abuse, while community moderators are essential in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
Gaming, once a solitary activity, has become a global phenomenon due to social media. These changes have transformed both the gaming experience and the structure of gaming communities.
Social media has become essential for gamers and developers, connecting people, building communities, and introducing new dynamics in gaming.
To conclude this blog 🔏
Online gaming communities have had a profound impact on social interaction, revolutionizing the way people connect and engage with each other. These communities provide a space for gamers to build connections based on shared interests, collaborate and work together towards common goals, and seek emotional support from like-minded individuals. They have created opportunities for individuals to connect and form friendships across geographic boundaries and have fostered a sense of inclusivity and understanding.
With the existence of social media, it has greatly influenced gaming communities by connecting players, building communities, and enhancing the experience. While challenges exist, the benefits are clear, and it continues to shape the future of gaming in exciting ways. When used responsibly, social media can foster connection, learning, and engagement, making gaming more dynamic and inclusive.

How to Buy a Car Online
Buying a car online offers a unique convenience, but it’s essential to approach the process with a plan.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you purchase a car online confidently and securely.
1. Set a Budget and Define Your Needs
Decide on a budget and list your must-have features. Consider whether you need a new or used car, your preferred make and model, fuel efficiency, and any additional features that matter to you. Establishing your needs early on will help narrow your options and streamline your search.
2. Research Reliable Websites and Sellers
Stick to reputable online car marketplaces and dealership websites to avoid scams. Look for verified sellers, read customer reviews, and check the Better Business Bureau for ratings. Some popular and trusted platforms include Carvana, Autotrader, and Vroom. Many dealerships also offer virtual showrooms with secure purchasing options.
3. Conduct a Thorough Vehicle Inspection
Once you’ve found a car that interests you, request detailed photos and a video tour. Look for any signs of wear, rust, or damage, and ask about the car’s history. For used vehicles, check the VIN and obtain a vehicle history report through CARFAX or AutoCheck. It will provide information on the car’s maintenance record, previous ownership, and any reported accidents.
4. Verify Pricing and Value
Use tools like Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds to get an estimate of the car’s fair market value. Comparing the asking price to these resources ensures you’re paying a reasonable amount and gives you leverage for negotiation.
5. Arrange Financing and Insurance
If you’re not paying in cash, arrange financing through your bank, credit union, or directly through the online car platform if they offer financing options. Shop around for the best interest rates and terms, and get pre-approved if possible. You’ll also need to secure insurance coverage for the car before finalizing the purchase.
6. Schedule a Virtual or In-Person Test Drive
If the car is within reach, test drive it in person to assess comfort, handling, and overall performance. If you’re buying from out of state, many sellers offer virtual test drives via live video calls, where they can demonstrate features and provide a closer look.
7. Negotiate the Price
Don’t hesitate to negotiate, especially if you’ve noticed minor issues or can provide lower price comparisons. Negotiating online is often straightforward, with many platforms allowing you to make offers and negotiate via chat or email.
8. Finalize Paperwork Securely
Complete all necessary paperwork securely, including title transfer, bill of sale, and any required warranty information. Ensure the contract includes any promised services or warranties, and carefully read through all terms. Most online platforms and dealerships will offer a secure digital signing process, or you may be mailed the documents to sign.
9. Arrange Delivery
If the car is far from your location, work with a reliable transport service to have it delivered to your home. Many online car sellers provide their own delivery services, while independent transport services like Viceroy Auto Transport also offer secure and timely vehicle delivery.
10. Inspect Upon Delivery
Once the car arrives, thoroughly inspect it to ensure it matches the listing and is in the agreed-upon condition. Verify that it includes all promised items, such as spare keys or additional equipment, and perform a final test drive if possible.
By following these steps, buying a car online can be a smooth and secure process. With the right preparation, you can find and purchase a vehicle from the comfort of home, making online car shopping a convenient alternative to traditional dealerships.

Streamlining Sales: The Benefits of Auto Dealership Management Software
In today's fast-paced digital era, businesses that do not adapt to technology risk being left behind. One industry that has particularly felt the pressure to modernize is the automotive sector. With consumers now expecting seamless and efficient experiences, the role of Auto Dealership Management Software (ADMS) has become indispensable. From inventory tracking to sales analytics, these tools are revolutionizing how dealerships operate. Let's delve deeper into how ADMS is streamlining sales and bringing manifold benefits to auto dealerships. If you need more insights, then visit us at “Aithr X”.
Enhanced Customer Experience
Today's customer expects quick responses, easy access to information, and a hassle-free buying process. An ADMS offers all these by providing real-time inventory updates, quick quote generation, and an efficient purchase workflow. This not only enhances the customer experience but also increases the likelihood of closing a sale swiftly.
Efficient Inventory Management
One of the most significant challenges auto dealers face is managing their vast and diverse inventory. ADMS enables dealers to keep track of vehicles, parts, and service equipment. With advanced tracking features, it ensures that stock levels are maintained appropriately, eliminating both excess and shortages. This leads to reduced holding costs and improved profitability.
Improved Lead Management
Handling potential customer leads can be a herculean task. ADMS offers sophisticated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools that help dealers track leads, maintain customer databases, and send out timely reminders. This ensures that no lead slips through the cracks and increases conversion rates.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Modern Auto Dealership Management Software is equipped with robust analytics tools. These tools provide insights into sales trends, customer preferences, and inventory turnover. Dealers can make informed decisions based on real data, ensuring that their strategies align with current market dynamics.
Seamless Integration with Other Tools
Many ADMS solutions integrate seamlessly with other business tools such as accounting software, email marketing platforms, and even third-party car valuation services. This interconnectivity ensures a holistic business approach, reducing manual data entry and the errors that come with it.
Digital Document Management
Gone are the days of physical files cluttering up office spaces. ADMS offers digital document solutions, allowing for easy storage, retrieval, and sharing of essential documents like sale contracts, vehicle history reports, and customer details. This not only saves space but also time when retrieving crucial information.
Streamlined Financial Processes
Offering financing options can be a competitive advantage for dealerships. ADMS can integrate with financial institutions, facilitating quick loan approvals, credit checks, and EMI calculations. This expedites the sales process and offers customers a smooth buying experience.
Enhanced Marketing Strategies
With an integrated marketing module, dealerships can leverage their customer database for targeted marketing campaigns. Whether it's a new car launch or a seasonal discount, ADMS can segment customers based on purchase history, preferences, or demographic data, ensuring more effective and personalized campaigns.
Reducing Overhead Costs
By automating several dealership operations, ADMS can drastically cut down on manual labor and associated overhead costs. Tasks that once required multiple employees can now be handled by the software, leading to cost savings and increased profitability.
24/7 Accessibility
Many modern ADMS solutions are cloud-based. This means dealers and their staff can access the system from anywhere, anytime, as long as they have an internet connection. This flexibility is especially valuable for dealerships with multiple locations or for staff who are on the move.
Conclusion
In the competitive world of auto sales, having an edge can make all the difference. Auto Dealership Management Software offers that edge by streamlining sales processes, improving customer experience, and optimizing operations. As technology continues to advance, it’s safe to say that the role of ADMS will only become more prominent. Dealerships that embrace these digital tools will not only keep pace with their competitors but set themselves up for future success.
