These images are placeholders until I photograph or scan my cards
Curiously, while Roachmon is listed as Bo-23 in every list and image I can find online, my Roachmon card is numbered CP-17. Similarly, Elecmon is supposed to be Bo-61 but mine is CP-33 I'm not sure why this is - I cannot find any information on it.
If you know why, please do let me know!

Note
I wanted to know if you could explain what the Digimons attributes mean? Some Digimon are vaccine types, then theres data and virus and in some cases ive read about digimon having the free or variable type.. i thought it could be something like a typical strength-weakness thing but then i read a part of a wiki where it said that virus types and vaccines dont get along? So now im just lost about what it means
I am so confused im sorry this is probably a really stupid question haha
It's basically a game mechanic. You know how games will have elemental alignments, like for instance fire-aligned characters taking 2x damage from water attacks and fire attacks doing 0.5x damage against water-aligned characters? Virus/Data/Vaccine form a rock-paper-scissors relationship like that (Virus > Data > Vaccine > Virus). It's a defining feature for V-Pets, since it adds a factor regarding whether they have an advantage or disadvantage over their opponent besides just stats. and has been a franchise staple since the Pendulum 1.0, which introduced it as part of multiple factors that made Digimon raising more complex and interesting.
So every time Bandai or whatever comes up with a new Digimon, they'll usually assign an attribute type for it as part of the lore. There are times there'll be exceptions, and the old card game (Hyper Colosseum, not the new one) was kind of notorious about messing with these -- a good number of the "exceptions" chronicled on Wikimon are that game's fault -- but for the most part Digimon are pretty consistent with the typing you see on their Reference Book profile. Different attributes are often the major distinguishing factor between variants as well, so for instance the orange Greymon we all know from Adventure is Vaccine, while the blue one is Virus. Free Digimon are ones that aren't typed at all, so from a game perspective they give and take damage with no modifier; the most famous ones are the 02 quartet's Digimon (V-mon, Wormmon, Hawkmon, Armadimon) and the Armor Digimon, and Variable ones are ones that mimic their opponent's type when they battle (basically the Frontier Hybrid Digimon).
From a meta perspective, the attribute triangle corresponds to the Chaos-Neutral-Law alignment system in Shin Megami Tensei (which Digimon takes a lot of cues from), so that's why angelic or "holy" Digimon are usually associated with Vaccine while dark or edgier (?) Digimon are associated wtih Virus, and why you saw that comment about Vaccine and Virus Digimon often being portrayed as at odds with each other. Takato is implied to have made Guilmon a Virus type because, like many ten-year-olds, he thinks being edgy is cool. In theory, it should be an even rock-paper-scissors triangle, but in practice, the franchise is biased towards Vaccine types, because it has a tendency to portray most of its holy Digimon as unambiguously good while its chaotic dark Digimon are usually evil. (In comparison, Shin Megami Tensei's Law demons would often be even worse than the Chaos ones, because when taken to extremes Law vs. Chaos basically meant authoritarianism vs. anarchy.) Even the naming probably reflects that bias, since while there are a lot of positive chaotic entities, it’s hard to argue that a computer virus is likely to be good or beneficial. The Vaccine bias is a problem that's dated back all the way to the original Pendulums, since Vaccine was the default Ultimate and most commonly used type to the point it influenced the meta. It probably even says something that we didn't get a Virus-type Digimon as a main party character in the anime until Tamers.
(Weirdly enough, Digimon doesn't have any restraint portraying the dark side of Lawful behavior or even organized religion -- Yggdrasil being one of the franchise's most recurring antagonists is proof of that -- and it's also been comfortable with "sacred darkness" like Kouichi's Spirits, it's just that for some reason the actual typing doesn't reflect this.)
Tumblr media
That said, typing has been irrelevant in the anime for the most part, probably because it really does have "game mechanic" written all over it, and also probably because being too stuck to it would limit storytelling options, so anime between 02 and Adventure: hasn't even included it on their Analyzer segments (a big deal was made out of Ghost Game bringing it back). It was brought up at the end of Adventure (as if driving home the franchise's Vaccine bias dating back all the way to here, everyone flips out negatively at the idea of Agumon evolving into a Virus type, which is then reinforced further with 02's MetalGreymon incident), and if you count Tamers battle statistics Guilmon/Terriermon/Renamon's win records and which Digimon they struggle against do seem to be mildly influenced by their Virus/Vaccine/Data typing, but that's about the most I can really think of in terms of story impact. Even the Sakurada series (Xros Wars, Adventure:, and Ghost Game), which tend to be really enthusiastic about Digimon null canon, haven't really delved much into it at all. So that's why Takeru's Patamon changing his type out of nowhere for no reason probably isn't that big of a deal, since most of the time Takeru will have him evolve into his Vaccine-typed angelic forms or the Free-typed Pegasmon anyway if they need to battle. But it still does play a big role in the V-Pets and console video games, and in the latter, party composition often depends on it. In fact, playing a console game often involves experiencing the franchise's Vaccine bias firsthand, because a lot of the time your party will end up full of Vaccine types without you even trying -- the infamous Demon Lord endgame quest in Cyber Sleuth basically depends on you having a party full of Vaccine types.

FrontierFest - Day 18
(Full prompt list here)
What aspect of the series would you like to have been more developed?
I really like when Digimon explores the familial backgrounds of the characters, and considering how Takuya, Tomoki and the twins’ families figured into their character and development, I’m genuinely sad we never got anything about Junpei and Izumi’s families. We know they’re only children and presumably each of them have a mother and a father, and that’s it?! I heard the Frontier manhua’s profile for Junpei states he comes from a wealthy family, and I’m not sure where they got that from, but considering how horrifically condensed the manhua were for previous Digimon series I’m not confident I’d even get an answer from the text itself if I could even find a reliable place to read it... though ironically, that wealthy family tidbit does line up with my headcanon for Junpei.
But headcanons never feel like enough! I want to know why Izumi ended up in Italy in the first place, was one of her parents on a diplomatic mission or business or was someone in her extended family living there for any reason? And if Junpei’s family is wealthy, where does that wealth come from? Is that how he can afford all those chocolate bars he never actually eats? Please tell me more!
Another thing: I would’ve loved to see more of the combination attacks from episode 29!
Tumblr media
I mean, it was such a cool concept and highlighted cooperation between the kids, but it was so severely underused! Considering how later arcs have spirit combinations as an evolution mechanic, with the final evolution being all spirits  and all kids working as one, and the criticism regarding most of the team being sidelined for the final arc... I really feel like not relying more on attack combos was a huge missed opportunity.
Speaking of, I just recently found out there were extra combined attacks exclusive to the old Hyper Colosseum card game, and they're all extremely cool looking. Now I just want more combo attacks for the entire Digimon franchise.

The current Hacking art is something I was pretty ashamed of. Not so much because it was bad, it was amazing. But because when making Base Release set and I got down to the Options—yes I made the cards in numerical order...anyway, I was incredibly burned out. I had made over 150 cards by that point and at break-neck speed. Most of those BR Options came out pretty bad and have been or plan to be replaced sometime. Hacking is one of the ones I hated immediately. What I did was use someone else’s art because I was just done. At that time, I was already using some general Digimon renders but trying to avoid stuff that was exclusively made by other people. Like opening a model in blender and just rendering it without changing it isn’t really a person’s art, right? But Hacking’s art was definitely something someone spent time on. In my defense, I was just making the game for my partner, as I’ve said a dozen times. But now it’s for everyone so I’m busting my butt trying to make real art instead of keep placeholders.
For the new Hacking art, I posed Hagurumon, fixed up the eyes to look overloaded, and ripped the actual sprites for Hagurumon’s “Command Input” attack from DDCB. As well as the Analogman hack scene. Arranging those elements so they could be seen but not overly-crowd the screen was really difficult. I think it turned out really good and I stuck with the red-green theme of the actual Hacking art from DDCB and Hyper Colosseum. But not actually remake that art because it’s boring. It’s just some binary serial with some of the numbers colored red so you know it’s “hacked” or whatever, lmao. I almost did it just to be accurate but stopped when I realized they were just abusing the fact that they can use a tiny black square to define their whole art space. Anyway, this is better!

Update On My Thoughts On Takeru/TK and Hikari/Kari roles in the Digimon Adventure 2020
-reblog snip-
Right when the feathers touched their hands the crest of Light and Hope is shown. And as we all should know, TK is the holder of Hope and Kari is the holder of Light. Once their crest was shown, Garurumon and Greymon DNA digivolved to Omnimon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part honestly kind of disappointed me when they already DNA digivolved even though they can only do that when they are in their Mega forms, not champion.
-reblog snip-
Adventure Omegamon is a fusion, not a DNA digivolve. They might call it that in the dub but in the Japanese version they don’t call it a jogress but a gattai which means it’s not a DNA digivolve.
(Incidentally Apocalymon, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode and Millenniumon apparently are all also considered fusions in the Hyper Colosseum card game at least, as well as MaloMyotismon who is a fusion between VenomMyotismon and Devitamamon (lol) in said game for some reason)
Also to do a “read more” do a line break (enter/return key) without entering any text and hit the horizontal bar with the three white dots next to the “gif” button.
Tumblr media
For some reason it doesn’t work on xKit’s “enable reblogs” addon though...
Update On My Thoughts On Takeru/TK and Hikari/Kari roles in the Digimon Adventure 2020
(Spoiler for Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 2)
First post here
So I'm definitely gonna do updates on my thoughts on their roles most likely every episode that comes out, if they are shown at all.
So just to be clear these will be shorter than my first post, especially this one.
In this episode, it mainly focus on Tai and Matt and their digimon trying to stop the Digimons who are inferring with the cyber terrorism in Tokyo and the US, with the help of Izzy. The missile was then launched and it was set to hit Tokyo. Garurumon and Greymon weren't strong enough to stop it since the Digimon digivolved even further, but then we saw TK and Kari.
What it looks like, Kari is walking home from after the train incident with her mother, and TK is still looking out his window. We then get a glimpse of a feather falling down near TK and Kari, and when they both caught them, this happened:
Tumblr media
Right when the feathers touched their hands the crest of Light and Hope is shown. And as we all should know, TK is the holder of Hope and Kari is the holder of Light. Once their crest was shown, Garurumon and Greymon DNA digivolved to Omnimon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part honestly kind of disappointed me when they already DNA digivolved even though they can only do that when they are in their Mega forms, not champion.
But moving on, what I believe is that TK and Kari were part of the reason (other was Matt and Tai, obviously) why they DNA digivolved. Just think about it, they digivolved together right after they touched the feathers and their crest were shown. And in the OG, Agumon and Gabumon were able to warp digivolve because of Angemon and Angewomon, who are TK and Kari's digimon. And who the feathers most likely belong to.
Some people even think that this will be the only time to show Omnimon until later in the new series. They also think that Omnimon was also there to foreshadow Angemon and Angewomon, also TK and Kari's role in this.
I am so excited to watch the next episode (which is in a week and I can't wait that long) and as I said before, I will most likely keep updating on this.
Can someone also teach me how to make that under the cut/"Keep Reading" Thing here on tumblr, I don't know how to.
