Oh I almost forgot, here’s my own personal arachnid propaganda: I have 11 of them as pets. 7 tarantulas and 4 true spiders.

i was gonna sleep but no i cant stop agonizing over how jumper's deep attachment and loyalty to her teammates makes complete sense when you consider everything she did and experienced in s5— especially in regards to vitalasy and the abyss. and how her wanting to be completely uninvolved in the conflicts of the server this season is also connected to this.

bc like okay so jumper is obviously incredibly attached to ro and rek. she has made it abundantly clear that they are her priority. they are the only people who matter to her at the end of the day; the people she will do anything for on the server. there is nobody in the server she would choose over them. no matter what rek does in his own time, or how inactive ro is, jumper ALWAYS considers both of them and has them in mind w everything she does.

which i find interesting bc at this point, rek almost exclusively refers to jumper and her alone as his teammate when his team is brought up simply bc ro is never here. they havent seen each other in months and i can count the amt of times rek and ro have been on the server together on one hand, so obviously rek doesnt seem to feel that same attachment to ro that jumper does.

which is very understandable but very interesting in how it contrasts to the way jumper seems to almost cling to that day 1 team up she had w ro. how she continues to include him in everything, and does her best to ensure he will be well taken care of should he choose to login at any point while shes offline.

and i...cannot help but feel that a very big part of jumpers fierce loyalty is her experience w vi. of him being gone. of her choice to not be alone, while he was gone. and her losing him in the end. like ro's absence almost feels like salt in the wound, but it also feels like its her getting a second chance to choose the other option— to wait for ro, to be loyal to him and rek, and to choose them and to continue to choose them no matter what happens.

which brings me to jumper's refusal to involve herself in conflict unless she NEEDS to be involved. i think her refusal to be loyal to anyone except ro and rek ties into this, actually!!! although part of her neutrality may be self interest, i dont actually agree w derap in saying its entirely out of pure selfishness. bc i actually think a large part of it is jumper continuing to choose ro and rek, and refusing to even consider putting herself into a position where she could ever be prioritizing anyone who isnt them. ally or enemy alike.

bc like yes. she is allies w minute. she considers (considered? idk anymore since chief tried to kill her LOL) the empire her allies, and once expressed that she would happily help them kill people and assist them w their schemes when it is requested of her, but i feel like that is as far as she is willing to toe the line of involving herself in conflict and any sort of loyalty to anyone who isnt her team bc shes already played that game before.

rek is always doing his own thing and ro is IA, but this time around jumper isnt looking for anyone else, another connection, or anybody to fight w. shes building a base for her team, supporting reks projects even if she doesnt understand, and she is waiting for ro. there was nothing she couldve done to ever not lose vi; he was always going to part ways w her no matter what decision she made, but she was never able to fully heal or come to terms w losing him in the way she did and mourn all of the time they never had so this time she is making the decision to hold onto rek and ro as tightly as she can, and to cherish every moment she is able to have them as long as she can in the hopes that she will never have to lose them like she lost vi. that she can have the memories w them that she was never able to have w vi.

Not so easy because I think a lot of it depends on whether they like sweets. And I'm always not so sure about their preferences …

Diana I can imagine likes more tart things when it comes to sweets, like dark chocolate. But in general, I see her as a big tea drinker, with a coffee or two in between. In winter, she sometimes goes for typical winter flavours that taste of cinnamon and aniseed. She probably enjoys her cups of tea as much as she can; but sometimes a cup is left in the kitchen and forgotten.

I can hardly judge 47. I can also imagine him as an occasional tea drinker, but coffee is probably more his thing. He probably likes to make his own mulled wine in winter. With lots of spices, good wine, all in a pot, left to infuse for a long time and enjoyed in front of his fireplace in the evening. He certainly doesn't like the mulled wine from the Christmas market (too cheap). He might also enjoy a hot chocolate from time to time. With lots of cream.

I can well imagine Olivia with a sweet taste. But idk, maybe she's more of a savoury type - depending on the headcanon. In case she likes sweets I think she also loves sweet drinks. She hates commercial things like Starbucks and the like, so she makes her own drinks at home. With lots of syrup in different flavours, coffee or sometimes just milk. In winter, she probably goes for caramel, cinnamon and chocolate. Spiced biscuit flavour with lots of cream and gingerbread? Sounds like a dessert, but for her it's a drink!

Lucas unfortunately has a very strong headcanon in my head. Coffee. Black. And lots of it. If he ever drinks something else (e.g. mulled wine from 47, a sugar drink from Olivia or a home-made tea from Diana), at least one shot of alcohol is added. Or two. He probably spends Christmas in a kind of permanent drunken stupor, never too much, but just in such a way that he lets Olivia hang fairy lights around his neck and lets 47 dress him in a Christmas jumper. He couldn't care less (but he also enjoys family time very much)

The Ramble of Relativity

I read one line and went “I could psychoanalyze that.”

I find it interesting that, when Sayeon asks “am i a bad person or just a weak one?” to Ryujin, after a moment Ryujin replies with “well, it’s all relative, isn’t it?” and considers how she’d look depending on someone else’s point of view. I was wondering, did she say that because that’s what she genuinely thinks, or is this another sign of how distant these two are? Or is it both?

What We Know

Ryujin avoided the question. Instead of answering, she diverts the attention to what others (specifically the Corps) would think instead of what she thought. I believe that she did that because she’s aware of how little she knows about Sayeon as a person.

Consider her perspective; Sayeon Lee, someone she’s thought strange since day one, someone who has deliberately done something cruel just to cause her harm, someone who has unintentionally proven herself to be the kind of person who says something and does another, offers her a deal that involves giving her information against the people who’ve (maybe) killed her entire family and caused her to experience hell for a year. All in exchange for using her gift (which she was extremely well-versed in despite not using it for over a year.. Something tells me playing instruments wasn’t all they did in the concordat.). Ryujin avoids answering the deal here.

Not long after, Sayeon runs off alone into an abandoned warehouse again and the rest is history. Keep in mind, she knows Sayeon had done something to Father Hope’s partner, though she doesn’t know exactly who or what. This leaves her with a couple of questions that I’m sure she wanted to ask, but didn’t get the chance to because the next time she sees Sayeon she’s crying.

They start talking and that’s where Sayeon says the most obvious lie she’s ever told (quote unquote “I don’t even remember why I cried”) and, surprisingly, it’s the only one Ryujin doesn’t press her on.

Now that I’ve summarized what we already know; let’s move on to the ‘theory’ part.

Speculation

Combining this information together, it’s no wonder why she thinks she’s not an adequate person to decide whether or not Sayeon is a good person. Why would she, when she doesn’t know the reasons as to why Sayeon does half the things she does?

I believe that the reason Ryujin decided not to call out yet another one of Sayeon's lies is a simple one. She knew offering words of comfort was way out of her range so instead she decided to call her out on a different lie she told, which, by all means, would make the situation worse if it weren’t for Sayeon’s mind being somewhere else. Ryujin said what she said clearly expecting a rebuttal, so did she want things to return to the status quo? (was her way of comforting her basically making her feel bad about something else?)

…UNRELATED but Heron's cut off fingers are definitely going to come back in the future. Are Aberrant fingerprints superior to humans? Are they going to.. I don't know- make Rapture with it? What can you do with just two fingers other than cross ‘em?

im deeply fascinated by ash and ro's relationship in s5 bc its so obvious ash thought of ro as below him even before any sort of betrayal happened, yet on the final day ash hesitated to hurt or kill ro despite squiddo and jumper telling him to just fight back bc the lala legion is dead, and ro has BEEN gone from the team. but hes unable to bring himself to do it in the moment— and ash even admits later that he regrets not killing ro when he had the chance.

and when ash was tryna distract ro to give jumper more time to run, it was like. so interesting to see him berate and insult ro only to beg for him to come back to him and see reason in the same breath. even after ro says the reason he betrayed, ash doesnt understand it or see it as valid so he dismisses it and tries to make ro see things HIS way. the only reason hes unable to keep going is bc zam has clown call ro away from the conversation.

idk ash is interesting bc he clearly sees himself as above everyone else, above the chaos of the server, and yet hes unable to completely get rid of his own petty attachments in the end. which includes ro, the person he Seen betraying him from a mile away
