For everyone who asked: a dialogue parser for BG3 alongside with the parsed dialogue for the newest patch. The parser is not mine, but its creator a) is amazing, b) wished to stay anonymous, and c) uploaded the parser to github - any future versions will be uploaded there first!
UPD: The parser was updated!! Now all the lines are parsed, AND there are new features like audio and dialogue tree visualisation. See below!
Patch 7 dialogue is uploaded!
If you don't want to touch the parser and just want the dialogues, make sure to download the whole "BG3 ... (1.6)" folder and keep the "styles" folder within: it is needed for the html files functionality (hide/show certain types of information as per the menu at the top, jumps when you click on [jump], color for better readability, etc). See the image below for what it should look like. The formatting was borrowed from TORcommunity with their blessing.
If you want to run the parser yourself instead of downloading my parsed files, it's easy:
run bg3dialogreader.exe, OPEN any .pak file inside of your game's '\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data' folder,
select your language
press ‘LOAD’, it'll create a database file with all the tags, flags, etc.
Once that is done, press ‘EXPORT all dialogs to html’, and give it a minute or two to finish.
Find the parser dialogue in ‘Dialogs’ folder. If you move the folder elsewhere, move the ‘styles’ folder as well! It contains the styles you need for the color coding and functionality to keep working!
New features:
Once you've created the database (after step three above), you can also preview the dialogue trees inside of the parser and extract only what you need:
You can also listen to the correspinding audio files by clicking the line in the right window. But to do that, as the parser tells you, you need to download and put the filed from vgmstream-win64.zip inside of the parser's main folder (restart the parser after).
You can CONVERT the bg3 dialogue to the format that the Divinity Original Sin 2's Editor understands. That way, you can view the dialogues as trees! Unlike the html files, the trees don't show ALL the relevant information, but it's much easier to orient yourself in.
To get that, you DO need to have bought and installed Larian's previous game, Divinity Original Sin 2. It comes with a tool called 'The Divinity Engine 2'. Here you can read about how to unstall and lauch it. Once you have it, you need to load/create a project. We're trying to get to the point where the tool allows you to open the Dialog Editor. Then you can Open any bg3 dialogue file you want. And in case you want it, here's an in-depth Dialog Editor tutorial. But if you simply want to know how to open the Editor, here's the gist:
Update: In order to see the names of the speakers (up to ten), you can put the _merged.lsf file inside of the "\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\Data\Public\[your project's name here]\RootTemplates\_merged.lsf" file path.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions! Please let me know if you modify the parser, I'd be curious to know what you added, and will possibly add it to the google drive.

Baldur's Gate 3 Datamined Dialogue (Patch 7)
Hello! So, I've been using @roksik-dnd's uploaded parsed dialogues for a while but there has been a few changes in the game since the last time they've uploaded. Luckily they've also made this post on how we could parse the dialogues ourselves!
Because I am impatient this happened to be one of the first things I did after the patch and I am releasing the files into the wild in case if it's useful to anyone else, like how I've used roksik's shared files for so long!
Don't forget - you need both dialogues and styles folders for it to work properly!

see cute wyllach post including tiefling party dialogue i thought was fun. open up my copy of the dialogue parser. spend quite literally 2.5 hours looking for dialogue, sifting by hand through every. single. file. containing "karlach" anywhere in the name. her file weirdly missing from the CAMP_GoblinHuntTieflingCelebration_CRD section containing files for all other origin character tiefling party dialogues in the Camp_Relationship_Dialogues subfolder. huh. dont think anything of it. arduously comb through Campfire_Moments and SoloDreams subfolders under Camp folder. switch to Companions folder. bang head against wall. comb through Origin_Moments and World_Relationship_Dialogues subfolders (please understand how many files are in both of those subfolders. my god.). search through every fucking million word Karlach_InParty file hanging out loose outside of the subfolders. barely able to read at this point, eyes glazed over. fucking nothing. comb through every. single. subfolder under Act1 folder, reading every. single. file. with karlach in the name. do the same for the Act1b folder. nearing tears. search in all of the expected, normal places for wylls romance dialogues, just in case it was on his side for some goddamn reason. lose god knows how much time from limited mortal lifespan. go back to Camp folder to search for loose files not organized in any subfolder. see CAMP_GoblinHuntCelebration_CRD_Karlach just chilling nowhere near the tiefling party files for the other characters. scroll to the end. its not there. see, at the very end, karlachs dialogue for one of the branches ends with CAMP_BurningUpForYou_State_UnlockedWith. holy fuck. that might be it. go back to the loose meats section of the Camp folder. file not there. open up Camp_Relationship_Dialogues because, again, thats where the other party files are. file not there. open up Campfire_Moments subfolder. holy fuck. file is there. in the wrong section and without karlachs name on it. open it up. dialogue is not wyll-specific
yanno what? im just glad its over
#3 AM now btw#being overly-meticulous about wyll content is wyll nations greatest pastime#how many of us have the dialogue parser? show of hands please

(copying over a ridic long twitter thread where I rambled nonsensically about Rolan post-Lorroakan fight, don't mind me. I have even more thoughts since I read through the Dialogue Parser and saw how his behavior changes if either Cal or Lia, OR BOTH, die that has me even more gdkghkhkh ok i guess i rambled about that in the tags, anyway, i'll copy those bluesky posts over later)
didn't make it to HoH but I did beat Lorroakan finally (I just had to change Lae'zel to battlemaster and give her goading strike and she carried me the whole way lmao) and ROLAN... ROLAN.... ROLAAAAAAAAAAN... i am 100% satisfied with how his story concludes
I'm still kinda surprised how much a fairly minor side character, whose death in the game has negligible impact on anything, stil got to me so bad... the way you can tell from the first scene that he's deeply insecure + deeply stressed over responsibility for his siblings' safety
(instead of trusting his siblings to be able to watch out for themselves as much as him). And he covers it all up with really embarrassing self-aggrandizement, just so conceited, gets mad at TavDurge for showing him up in a way that makes him look weak and incapable.
THE WAY HES AN ANGRY ABUSIVE DRUNK IN ACT 2 AND EVEN when you rescue Cal and Lia he's still so angry and yelling, and Lia is too. i get the impression Lia was the one who always looked out for Cal and Rolan as kids so she has her own issues with needing to be the Strong one
and Rolan is chafing over being the weak adopted brother and has developed even WORSE issues over being the Strong one, and neither can concede ground on who has is the most responsible sibling, and the dynamic is all fucked up and Cal is the only one trying to find some balance
neither of them ever learned they can express they were terrified for the other's sake, and terrified of being too weak to look out for the other, without wrapping it up in protective anger and finger-pointing. it's just ;________;
it really hit hard when he actually apologizes for the way he acted while horrifically drunk in act 2 lol... but then if you stand around him and Lia are still arguing. they really just need to hug it out. cal sitting off to the side desperately wishing they'd hug it out
anyway the fact Rolan is so conceited and assured of his own power and greatness and ability to handle Everything On His Own, that he desperately convinces himself his new master beating him for no good reason constantly has a meaning, he just has to survive to prove himself...
and survive to provide for his siblings (who can't even live with him because lorroakan is that much of a dick???), and is just, a shadow of how he was in act 2, angry and aggressive and ready to take on an army himself for cal and lia's sake, just gets to me sooooooo bad. god.
I just think about what kind of mental gymnastics he must be doing since he got to the Tower, feeling so angry but needing to square everything happening with the image he built up of this guy he HERO WORSHIPPED FOR YEARS, trying to just focus on the needs of his siblings... ugh
And then how it hits all of his insecurities with weakness, of being the one who rescues and protects others instead of needing the rescuing and protecting. Surviving near-certain-death twice only to end up stuck in an abusive apprenticeship. god how stupid must he have felt
(and when i say that i mean that with all the empathy and sympathy in the world, mind). anyway i'm rambling. i really love rolan. i really love how happy he is in the convo after defeating lorroakan, how he SMILES and seems so excited to finally have cal and lia LIVE WITH HIM
#rue in baldy gate#i wrote all of this and then i read the dialogue parser for all the alternative dialogue you get#if either or both cal and or lia die and i am now planning to make sure they're both dead in next playthrough#because i get off to rolan experiencing maximum suffering. whump that man to oblivion. i need to know what his journal says if theyre dead#ok but i wrote another rambling thread about this on bluesky but the different ways cal and lia are written#failing to cope with each others deaths and or rolans death get to me SO BAD#esp if rolan is still alive because he still throws all of the blame on the surviving sibling to deflect from his own feelings of grief#and failure. except lia gets angry right back and draws her sword fully ready to strike out at him#while cal just agrees with EVERY abusive awful thing rolan says. just agrees its all his fault. while sounding so suicidal#and on that note if cal and lia both die rolan still makes it to baldurs gate. hes a shadow of himself but hes still alive#if rolan and either of the other two die and cal or lia are the lone survivor though they both just. walk into the shadowcurse to die#its so upsetting lmao like god damn. rolan is also depressing because theres no chance to sweet talk him away from lorroakan if theyre dead#rolan#cal#lia

Hi, because I'm an insane person and a freak for looking at data files, I compiled a masterlist of every single BG3 dialogue file that has Dark Urge origin-specific dialogue in it. This was achieved by using the BG3 Dialog Reader, and honest-to-god manually combing every file for the Dark Urge origin tags (listed at the top of the document).
This document is a list of file names, as they appear in the Dialogs folder, listed by the subfolder they appear in. To read the actual dialogue, you will need to either download the BG3 Dialog Reader, or download the parsed data from roksik's BG3 datamined dialogue drive.
Alternatively, this project has also been part of a larger pet project of mine: to transcribe all of the Dark Urge dialogue in the game. At the bottom of the masterlist doc, you'll find links to all of my docs of transcribed dialogue (including a separate doc for Gortash dialogue). However, I've only gotten through most of Act 1 and a decent chunk of the Companions interactions. How much I continue to add to the transcriptions will be determined by how much free time I have and how autistic I'm feeling on a given day LOL

UPDATE: recent patches and the parser are here! See the newer post.
A friend who wanted to stay anonymous datamined BG3's dialogue, alongside with tags, approval, roll requirements, dev notes... 9300 files total! I'm sharing it now. Make sure to have both Dialogs and jscssetc folders to have proper formatting. The Link lines have the Jump function - click them to jump to the associated line. The rest of the tags can be shown/hidden as per the header. The files are separated by acts, but be warned that there might be spoilers in the tags and game files.

With reference to your time travel tense puzzle concept: may I ask what 'parser fic' is?
(With reference to this post here.)
Parser fic is a type of text-based interactive fiction where instead of selecting pre-defined prompts or dialogue options in order to take action, the player types natural-language commands, which the game interprets (or "parses") to translate into in-game actions. One of the most popular genres of parser fic, the text adventure, is the precusrsor of graphical, point-and-click adventure games, and plays very similarly, focusing on investigation and complicated inventory puzzles; other genres tend more toward artsy experimental stuff.
(To anticipate the obvious question from certain quarters of this blog's readership who are finding that description eerily familiar: yes, this is the genre of games that Homestuck is parodying in its early acts; yes, it's real; and yes, you should totally check it out. I suggest Emily Short's Counterfeit Monkey; it's esoteric as hell, but also one of the few modern parser fics with a proper tutorial chapter, so it's a lot more approachable as an entry point than its writeup makes it sound.)

Here is the full dialogue for Spawn!Astarion reaction to the player sleeping with Mizora. I used this parser to get dialogue and voice files. The dialogue does not trigger yet in game!! So this is a spoilers.
VIDEO WITH SUBTITLES HERE
Please DO NOT REUPLOAD. Only share the link. It took me ages to put it all together, but also this is technically not in game yet.
To understand the dialogue tree, this is how it looks (I added a picture in cut):

a little detail i like about Wyll's point & click dialogues is that all the ones where refers to himself as the Blade or hero happen at neutral or negative approval of the target character. its like if he has a positive or romantic relationship with them they've helped him realize that there's value in being just wyll and that he's very much appreciated as well :)
#making dialogue parser screenshots just barely more legible one bad ms paint job at a time 👍 not much but its honest work#no one say any nonsense about the spelling/grammar thats how they came and not everyone in the world speaks perfect english#wyll ravengard#bg3

All right, since the analyses are already starting to crop up, I'll upload the link to all of BG3's EA parsed dialogue. Shout-out to Aloija and her dialogue parser!! As well as my husband (not on tumblr) for adding a batch convertion option to it.
The dialogue contains all the lines for every scene and interaction, as well as information on approval changes and required plot flags.
The folder structure and the file naming (I kept both) are solid, so finding whatever it is you want shouldn't be difficult. Not all dialogue files make sense, not all tags are deciphered, and not all dialogue is yet written (the placeholder text | is written like this | ). There are minor spoilers, unused lines, unfinished scenes, but nothing beyond what's currently in EA plot-wise.
UPDATE: the game is out, the new parser is also out! Please find them here:
