“Dear Batman,

Okay, I admit that always looked weird on the Christmas cards, but I have to tell you, sometimes it felt even WEIRDER to write “Dear Bruce.” Sometimes, I wonder what you call me in your head. When you think about me, I mean. If you think about me. Reading those files of yours… I guess it was the first time I was ever sure that you sometimes wondered the same kind of things. And I don’t want you to wonder about me. I want you to be sure.

Thing is, I don’t know how to reassure you in words. I mean, there are no words. What AM I to you, Bruce? Your son? Your trainee? Your soldier? Your sidekick? Your ward? “Ward,” I HATE that word. It stopped having any meaning the minute I turned eighteen, and I was afraid I would too. Stop having meaning, I mean, for you.

So in absence of binding words, I try to show you who I am in action. And I find I can’t stop moving. Sometimes I feel it’s because I feel like I have to keep up with you, and sometimes it’s because I feel I have to keep ahead of the others. You don’t know what it’s about either, do you? All the people around you? Sometimes I think they just gather of their own accord – pulled by the same magnetism and mission that keeps me in orbit, and I’m so grateful for them – so glad not to be alone out here – that I don't give it a second thought.

But other times, Batman – Bruce - no, BATMAN – other times, Batman, I think you deliberately called them to your side, and I can’t believe you’d have the gall. You eventually heard me out on the issue, but I don’t think you ever really got how much it HURT me when you chose Azrael to stand in for you instead of ME. The only thing I hate more than wearing that cape and cowl and imagining a world without you in it is watching someone ELSE do it.

I know you have your reasons for everything you do, and I know you don’t always think I believe that. I DO believe that. I’m not ever worried that you haven’t thought things through. I’m just sometimes worried that I don’t factor into your thinking. Or that if I do, you’re worrying that I can’t take care of myself. It occurred to me for the first time today that maybe it’s not about that. Maybe you’re worrying that you can’t take care of me.

You’re not an easy man to be close to, Bruce. As much as you care about any of us, any of this, I know you’d trade it in a heartbeat if you could have your parents back. And I’ve never really admitted this to anyone, but I don’t think I would. Trade, I mean. And I don’t think I’m ready to see your face if I told you that. Which is why I’m never gonna send this letter. I miss my parents with my whole heart, Batman, I do.

But I wouldn’t trade this for the world.

Tonight, as I worked on my book (an autobiographical tale of trauma and growth), I wrote about a love affair from long ago. His name was Devin. The months I spent with him were filled with chivalry and romance.

Devin, wherever you are, I hope you know that I have never forgotten you. The gifts you gave me are lifelong. Of course, I’ll always have the tattoo that represents the spiritual conversations and epiphanies we shared. But what you have given me is far more permanent than a tattoo could ever be. I hope you are happy and your life is abundant. You deserve nothing less.

Thankyou thankyou!!! They're the Vessel from the beginning of the Survey Program, and follow Kris around as a ghost narrating. Sort of the Chara to their Frisk, but with a lot more backseating

They don't control Kris, per say, like the player in canon Deltarune, but they do have more than just the power of being really annoying and can sway Kris without their input. Obviously, Kris isn't a big fan of being told what to do against their will and tends to fight back as much as they can.

They try not to be too annoying to Kris and stay in their lane as just an observer, but sometimes a choice comes up that they get entirely too excited about (like giving the plush to Berdly in Chapter 2, or giving affection to Ralsei) and end up accidentally forcing Kris to go along with them. They rarely notice when they do this, and Kris is unable to convey their lack of control to them, making their relationship very uneven.

In the Light World no one but Kris can see them, and they can't go very far from Kris on their own, where in the Dark World they can move at will and can even physically interact and be seen by everyone else, though Kris is still the only one who can hear them, so they tend to still stick pretty close to them.

They can also possess Kris to fully influence their choices and speech, though they only did so once and it was on complete accident. Kris described the experience as taking a Back Seat to their own life, fully conscious but unable to do anything. They've sense sworn to Kris to never do this again, it's the one thing Kris trusts them on.

I haven't yet decided if they're something that's always been with Kris, or if they're a new thing that appeared around the start of Chapter 1. That's probably a decision that'll change as we get more chapters and more information on Kris themselves

This Self Insert doesn't have any self ships attached to it, per say. The Vessel is very attached to Berdly and Ralsei but in a much more "Kris you should date these people" way, which makes Kris incredibly uncomfortable so they try to keep to themselves about it.

I honestly don’t know how to write this; I have spent all week attempting to figure out what to say.

Last Monday I was informed by our factory that our merchandiser and direct point of contact with the factory passed away unexpectedly two weeks ago. She was someone who I have spent a great deal of time speaking to ever since we switched factories two years ago. She helped us realize designs for new products, sent us samples of garments extremely quickly and kept track of all our orders. She went to bat for us if something went wrong with our print shop or if I was unhappy with how a garment pattern was interpreted by their team. As their first American client and a brand that focuses on size inclusion, something that is not typical of their other clients, she handled a lot of crazy requests from us without blinking and she was dedicated to ensuring that both us and our customers were happy. We talked nearly every day, and though it was work related she was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure interacting with daily.

She was beyond dedicated to her work and to working with us. Turkey has an 11-hour time difference from me in California, which means when she was emailing me at 2pm in the afternoon it was 1am there. You can sure bet that I extended her the same courtesy and tried my best to answer her emails at night too, even when I would rather just be sleeping.

It was also clear just how much she loved her job, and now much she loved you guys. She had been silently watching our social media since we first started working with them. She got just as excited as we did on launch days and would often email me unprompted about how she was glad people were leaving such positive comments and reviews. She read your feedback when no one ever asked her to do that or even expected it of her. She did it because she really, really cared.

Even though she was miles away and we never met in person, she was like a coworker to me and the loss of her is like losing someone on our team.

The Maya Kern team, as a whole, has been dealing with a lot lately. I personally just moved (which took far longer than we expected) and Maya and Devin are gearing up to move back to Minneapolis pretty soon. With the loss of our merchandizer, it has taken the wind out of my sails a little bit. I was trying to push through, even though I am exhausted, and carry out the photo shoot for our new products this weekend, but it has become clear that my body just can’t handle it. My arthritis has finally told me to stop moving, so unfortunately, we are going to have to reschedule the shoot for later on.

We are doing everything we can to make sure our next product drop on the 21st still happens. But as of right now, due to this sudden loss, the garments haven’t even shipped from the factory yet and I am not optimistic that they will clear customs and get checked into the fulfillment center in time for the launch. This means the drop is likely going to be pushed back to December 5th and instead of a full photo shoot, we will probably have to settle for taking quick photos of everyone at home, and likely with our phones. 

We work really hard to deliver not just garments we believe in, but also pictures of said garments on bodies that our customers can relate to, and unfortunately I just do not think that is possible this time. As always, we really appreciate your patience and understanding during what has been a very difficult time for us.
