Reading the previous post about when you tell Diavolo that he’s wrong got me thinking and I wonder if everyone else gets the impression that Diavolo was pissed off and wanting to punish the human for "disrespecting” him. Tbh I don’t think this was the case. 

Diavolo’s only real point of pure seriousness was when he went to capture Belphegor at Purgatory Hall. I don’t think when you tell him he’s wrong in this instance, that he was pissed or wanting to discipline you. (Barbatos gives off those vibes but Dia don’t) 

Diavolo seems more surprised because you told him he was wrong. Think about it, pretty much nobody in the Devildom has ever spoke up to him (except I guess you could count Belphegor when he was proposing his exchange program, but he was more disrespectful about it.) 

But in Lucifer’s Colorful Panic Devilgram during the Devilrun, it’s shown no demon will shoot Lucifer or Diavolo and if you attempt to throw paint on Diavolo instead of Lucifer, it only curls around Diavolo’s arm. It is terrified of hitting him, even though Diavolo just laughs about it. Where if you throw paint on Lucifer it will just hit him. 

I think Diavolo wasn’t feeling any kind of anger when you told him he was wrong. I honestly think he wants people to be more open with him and he probably wants to be treated like a normal person in just everyday life outside of work. 

(Don’t get me wrong I think he enjoys the respect and power he has, but not to where he’d blow up if someone questioned his actions) and IF we do get to date the side characters, I have a good feeling this would be one of the reasons Diavolo would fall for MC. They don’t care about his status and treat him like a normal person. 

They wouldn’t be scared to talk to him casually, tell him he was wrong, do events with him and not be scared of hitting him if they were playing some kind of game that requires tagging/hitting someone else. 

In conclusion, Diavolo may be shady sometimes, but it’s not the type of shady like Solomon is. Diavolo knows what he’s doing when he has a plan and he just chooses to keep it under the table, but he generally wants to be able to have moments where he can relax and just be treated equally with a friend/partner that doesn’t care about who he is.

Obey Me! Devilgram Posts and Comments: Show Your True Colors/Rub That Lamp

Ahh, it’s quite late, but it turns out that it’s hard to translate comments when your notes are in South Carolina and you are in Colorado lol.

For what I think was the first time ever I actually had every single one of these Devilgram stories unlocked so I had context for all of them for once lolol.  I don’t think there’s much to make note of this time, all the notes are more like when I felt like a nuance explanation was needed.  Since I like to keep it direct, sometimes I have to figure out how to best arrange the direct translation so it doesn’t sound really weird.

1. From what I read, 偉い is used when the speaker is looking down on you. 2. っつーの gives the connotation that Mammon is angry. 3. とは is an expression of surprise, and “to think” sounded the closest to that feel to me. 4. Literally he’s saying he’s a mirror of Lucifer. 5. Lucifer satisfaction seems to be a lot lower than how it was written out in English lol.
