Turtles All The Way Down
Tw: Contamination Anxiety, Germs, OCD
I'm watching and typing up everything I relate to.
It's only 26 minutes in and I'm already feeling so seen. The constant flow of thoughts about being contaminated and possibly sick from being contaminated is me. The constant anxiety of getting sick and needing reassurance that you're okay. The constant overwhelming anxiety.
It's me!
Constantly weary of surfaces and germs that could possibly hurt me whilst people aren't even thinking anything like that nor do they even care. "Germs are good for us." is something I hear a lot and I wish I could think like that so I wasn't so preoccupied with being contaminated... but I can't.
Even now, I'm sitting with the constant thought that my phone has germs on it and the door handles and light switches. So I often don't use my hand to close doors or turn off lights... In My Own House. I can sit with it somewhat but sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can't cope with it and the more you give in the more you spiral.
The amount of times I used to take myself to A&E because I was sure I was dying of something was insane but also being so overwhelmed by the germs in the hospital.
I had a conversation with my aunt not too long ago because I was spiralling with it all. She said I need to stop washing and checking and washing and checking because it's only going to get worse and it's true. So I gave myself a packet of Dettol disinfectant wipes to have on my bed for whenever I felt overwhelmed with being contaminated. It's helped and I managed to get out of that cycle. But it's only so long till I'm back in it again. It's never too long before I'm back to being overly overly obsessed again. It doesn't actually go away.
Even her talking to her therapist about her medication and not taking it. She said she's not herself on them and obviously doesn't like taking them. It's like John had written it about me. I have to convince myself every day to take this medication and I hate it. I hate not being able to do this on my own and I hate that the medication changes me because I feel like I'm not "me" but I also understand that the "me" I'm talking about is unwell and can't manage without medication and I hate it!!
I can admit I too have swallowed hand sanitiser. Overwhelmed with germs in my body. It burned my tummy and I felt so nauseous after. 0/10 do not recommend but this is where OCD takes you. Hand sanitiser everywhere. My face, hands, arms, cutlery. It's hell.
The blue light scene is soooo triggering. Oml. That's literally how my brain sees things as if I can see the germs everywhere and because I'm contaminated I'm spreading it everywhere too. The fear that it's everywhere and you can't get it out. You can't get clean enough. You can't get rid of it. It's everywhere. The desperation. The desperation. The desperation.
"I think I am better but I guess I'm just not better enough." Has me crying man. Thinking you're better or at least getting better but you really aren't is the worst. Thinking you're making progress but even with the progress you're still so sick.
Watching person after person leave because you're sick and you can't stop yourself from being this sick person. Knowing its not logical. Knowing what it is but spiralling all the same. It's hell!!

Maid in India.
Lockdown has brought forth a problem of pandemic proportions for the Indian Ladies of the House, the Great Indian Maid Issue. Such an issue is unknown in the western world. The word Lockdown, primarily, made them rush for the Toilet Tissues !
However, to come back to our maid issue, the pandemic has made the made the ubiquitous housemaid of India a scarce commodity. Most have gone back to their muluk or have upped the rates and reduced the working hours to provide more sanitised, socially distant,at arms length services. People have got over the first wave by Youtube DIYs. But, the second wave proved to be too much. The novelty of the DIY wore off, people wanted the old normal back.Left with no options, the LOH have, by and large, agreed to their made to order conditions and managed to lure/retain them. However, the attrition rate has been quite high, but a lucky few have managed to retain the old faithfuls.
For the lucky few,the morning sound of the door bell, heralding the arrival of the maid, makes the hearts go aflutter and puts a spring to the heels of the LOH. She rushes to the door, suitably masked, holding a tray containing various Sanitizers, disposable masks and gloves,a diya with burning camphor, a jug of water,Dettol soap and disposable wipers, looking like a Nurse or a Mother in Law welcoming her new Daughter in law or like the Lord Krishna rushing to welcome Sudama, depending on the viewer's perspective. The LOH ensures cleaning of her hands and feet, sprinkling of sanitizer on her clothes and on her hands. She is provided disposable wipes for her hands and feet, given fresh disposable mask and gloves and lastly a Camphor aarti to ward off the evil Corona Virus. Suitably attended to, she now enters the sanctum santorum. In the meantime,Gentleman of the House (GOH), who is WFH, has prepared an immunity boosting Kadha for her, taking time out from his Zoom Meet. She is served the Kadha reverentially, which she partakes of with an extra dollop of Honey. Suitably fortified, she takes up her duties with a whirlwind speed, and a non stop chatter of Corona Bulletin of the Colony residents, updating on their O² levels. She finishes her work 10 minutes before the schedule and announces that she will be on WFH tomorrow( fully paid absence). The LOH acquiesce meekly, grateful that the maid would be on job the day after.

When asked to write a daily diary for anxiety management.
Here are a few days example....
Sunday 24th
Mood/anxiety = numb.
Additional meds =8mg of diazipam.
My whole body aches yet it shouldn't. My stomach is growling yet i feel physically sick.
Things i ask myself....
Q.1 Will i leave my safe space, weighted blanket & mountain of pillows?
A.1 NO.
Q.2 Will i manage my yoga routine
A.2 NO
Reasons....Why
I feel exhausted even though ive not been outside since Thursday. I just want the aching to subside the pain to leave. My jaw is clenched closed making eating an ordeal. I know this needs to be done.
The dread of what passive aggressive message/s ill receive today either in person or written either way im struggling to motivate myself to move.
The Internet has been blocked for nearly a wk now. But i just let it slide as the saying goes choose your arguements "wifi is not the hill i want to die on" quote from TBBT. I hear Luke (my brother) is now in his bedroom and his door is closed. He has been banging around the house sending passive aggressive messages (sms) since 4am. My belongings that i left downstairs were thrown into my room. I'm nervous to leave my room till i know he is asleep.
Flashback/negative thoughts....
1. How can my baby brother be an emotional manipulator.
2. Last time i had to justify my everymove i was in Portugal in a very bad relationship.
*****Ways im looking to excuse his behaviour. Find the cause to my sudden crash of low mood aka depression with a nice battle of anxiety.
---Logically i know its not the same.
---Emotionally it hurts the same.
The way he looks at me with disgust, resentment & impatience is the trigger. I realise this. How someone you love can make you feel this way.
Solution: i decide to find a solution to the sudden conflict of money and i know there is a receipt in the car. I go to the normal place the keys are kept and theyre no where to be found. I look in all the obvious logical places they  could be and realise theyre hidden by my loving brother. His Reasons, 1-to stop me  buying shit (his words). 2. He has decided its his house, his car so therefore his rules. (Its all my mums btw)
As im downstairs i notice the kitchen is a mess. Pots all over from a feast Luke cooked up the night before. Or should i say 2am.
So i feel defeated. Ive basically been cleaning non stop everytime i use a room as per gov guidelines and he just doesnt seem to comprehend the severity of the situation.
I decide i need to eat. So i opt for Shreddies with Oat Milk (Luke has a serious milk allergy to the milk proteins in cows milk so im not fussed about milk and am happy to use alternatives) topped with vanilla soya yogurt, bannana, a few cranberries, 3 strawberries, sultanas and crushed Almonds. My logical brain is telling me eat well as we are not leaving the bedroom again unless desperate.
I send a few messages to the family whats app (Luke refuses to be a part of this) and receive encouraging and support in return. Everyone is struggling in their own way so i appreciate having a small outlet between us all.
After food i sleep finally.
Trying now to Ready myself for round 2 which i know is coming.
My mum calls i dont want to answer but i do. I explain the situation. She knows, she has dealt with his angry behaviour since he was 11yrs old. She stated she is coming to visit Tuesday as per new gov guidelines and we will meet in the park. She then asks me to pass the phone to Luke which i pointblank refuse. Im not ready for round 2 yet. Especially since he has his own phone he is just not answering making everyone worry about him but he just resents it. Its safe to say im proud i refused to do something. Gold star award ⭐
Monday 25th
Mood/Anxiety -  still no change from yesterday but i decide i have to force myself to move. Wash, clean and pack the additional things my mum has requested.
Additional meds - i decided against taking anything today as i need to be clear headed for my appointment Tues and obvs my mums visit.
I check the weather see its a nice day decide washing is task 1. I set a bath running (multi tasking saving time from all the free time) and head downstairs to pop the washing machine on. Before i left my room i checked my phone for messages i have one from my mum telling me she has had words with Luke and that he needs to basically deal with the resentment in a more positive way.
This explains all the banging and loud music yesterday early eve. He decided to actually clean.
Anyhow I head downstairs. Kitchen is clean, messages all wiped from the black board.
I decide i must try and communicate with Luke as we cant take the conflict with us to the park it isnt fair to our mum.
I can hear him moving so send a sms message asking if he wants anything in the oven. No response. ***He did finally get out of bed at 3pm so a peaceful day so far.
I decide food is required. I opt for protein soya burgers x2 with Spinach, tomatos, avacado, sultanas, almond pieces and some crumpets. I sit in the garden to eat.
All washing is out and drying but im to anxiety ridden and unmotivated to enjoy the sunshine.
I head back to my room to sort bits for my mum and throw away my origami collection. It was over taking my room and again causing conflict.
Lukes awake!!!. I decide to say hello. So far so good. He decides to make himself lunch and throws a fit because i ate a £0.45 avocado. I walk away as i know he is just venting and i need to not start the circle of negative thoughts or interactions. This is rewarded with resentment. Luke suddenly decides to do his own washing and cut the grass. Which means my washing is in his way. Before he even starts i am pulling in whats dry mainly because i want to go back to bed and need my bedsheets but also because he wont care if my washing turns green or is damaged. To my delight my sheets are dry but my pjs etc need another 30mins so i leave them whilst i go and make my bed.
Im bellowed at about washing as Luke needs the line. So i head down stairs to reteive the rest of my belongings.
Self soothing thoughts...
Im walking on eggshells trying not to provoke the beast and i need to keep going. Focus on my achievements. I left my room. I cleaned myself, my clothing and my pillow fort which has been my safe zone for the past 4days.
Deep down thought i am disappointed as i know isolation and distancing is not a long turn solution as the yrs pass im becoming more and more isolated and lonely.
Im downstairs again and i ask Luke if he wants anything popping in the oven as i was having toast. He requested 2 burgers and chips but on seperate trays as he was hungry. Easy to do popped into the oven. 40mins later chips are cooked he is plating up and all he says is "why have you cooked so many chips, clearly we now live in a household of wastefulness".
This was the turning point for me id had enough for 1day and just told him to give it a rest and went to my room.
Im dozing with Big Bang on in the backround and Luke is banging on my door. Mums on the phone. Confirming arrangements for tomorrow. I say a few oks with the occasional nod.
I start packing the bits n bobs my mum has asked for and carry then downstairs so theyre ready for the car tomorrow am.
Its PJs and bed time. Luke has other ideas. He is awake and up and about at 4.30am. Having a bath at 5am, doing weights after his bath at 6am then leaves in the car at 7am. He is back around 8am banging has a shower then decides to leave again in the car. He is meant to be house-bound until July 1st. This in itself causes me anxiety as i cant handle watching another member of my family die in front of my eyes.
Thoughts...
Yes this is VERY dramatic. STOP IT BRAIN!
Take precautions all will be ok.
Tuesday 26th
Mood/Anxiety = No change
Additional meds = 4mg diazipam but late afternoon as i couldnt stop shaking and fidgeting.
My mum is coming to visit. Im trying not to think about the fact Luke is out of the house.
We are having a picnic social distancing style.
We head to the coop as Luke has decided even after knowing our mum all his life never be on time, we have to be early. I buy Costa coffee, fresh bread, hummus, bananas, diet coke and some biscuits the nature valley ones theyre really good. Luke doesnt go into the shop I think at least he is listening to some rules. He rolls his eyes as i spray the shopping with dettol spray and use the alcohol hand sanitizer for my hands and door handle etc. I just tell him its how it needs to be done.
We find a perfect parking spot under a bunch of trees. I notice that all the trees are trimmed in a very even shelf across the bottom. It looked like it was designed perfectly for people to walk straight onto the park from the car park without having to fight with tree branches or go around.  But in actual fact its the deer. They eat the lower leaves this made me smile and relax for a moment. WIN.
My mum is late so im nervous that she is
1. Stuck somewhere (over reaction)
2. Lost (over reaction)
3. Just running late (normal reaction)
Im a tad fidgety as im aware i have an appointment in 2hrs. Hurry up MOTHER...
I ponder about work and whether or not ill still have a job to return too. Had an email this am stating theyre cutting 200jobs from the team i work in. So not sure if thats a good thing or not. But its also increasing my anxiety as ive read the email and now have a burning desire to do the research to see what my probability of keeping my job will be. Before my brain can go on a major tangent my mum arrives.
Shes brought Oscar (her poodle) he is so excited to see me. And the big hairy fluff ball  gave me the biggest snuggles. He has a major Covid hairdoo. My mum doesnt hug me which hurts but i know she cant.
Picnic time. We sit in the middle.of a field away from everyone. Social distancing 10/10. My mum has made me my favourite cakes, rock buns. (Apparently these are a northern thing) but im feeling the love. Its fairly chilled only 1 disagreement with Luke over blinkin avocados.
Im clock checking and aware of impending appointment, im a little (understated) nervous because ive not had positive relationships with therapists or doctors in the past.

Steps and tips for cleaning your entire house quickly
House cleaning is a daunting task for many women, and because we are all now in our homes we are definitely trying to keep the house clean and the health of our family. So here, dear, we give you important tips to help you clean the house faster without much effort and effort instead of spending the whole day in this exhausting process. The first of these tips is not to clean a room completely and then move to the next room, as this method uses a very large time. To reduce the time, it is preferable to do one task entirely at home and then the next task, and so on. This method makes you think about moving quickly, you clean the entire house and you do not find yourself focusing on cleaning a specific place, so you waste a lot of time. Also, this method will make you move more than what is considered a sport for your body at the same time.
The second advice is that when doing a certain task, always start from top left to bottom right. For example, when cleaning dust, clean it from the top shelves on the left to the ground on the right. This way, you ensure that the dust does not transfer from the upper areas to the cleaning areas below. Now we start cleaning steps, here are steps to clean the entire house faster! 1- Clean the dust: Dust the dust in every room completely, it is very important to reduce the accumulated dust on top because it moves and falls on the furniture. This is best done without using water. But a microfiler cloth can be used wet with warm water. 2- Spray the place: After the dust on the surfaces in each room has been drained, and before leaving it to drain the next room, use a pre-prepared water spray, and add a teaspoon of baking soda or water with an antiseptic such as Dettol. Spray in the air in all directions, and the goal of this step when cleaning the house is to use water droplets to drop dust and dust in the air to fix in the ground, so that you can pick it up with a vacuum cleaner. 3- Change bedding and furniture: Go from room to room to change bed linens and fabrics Covering furniture, you can also arrange the mats on the sofa. Take care to change them at least every week to ensure that bacteria are eliminated and no viruses appear in your home. 4- Spraying detergent fluids: To facilitate cleaning, use surface-cleaning fluids and let them interact with surfaces first to dissolve stains or accumulations, especially in the bathroom, sinks, bathtubs and the kitchen. And take care to use a lot of disinfectants to get rid of germs that can be present on the surfaces, to prevent the transmission of bacteria to you or one of your family members by simply touching anything at home. 5- Laying the rooms: bring a large box and put all the things you want to transfer from one room to another in this box. Then go to the next room to take from the box what belongs to this room and vice versa. Repeat this process in all rooms until everything is in place. 6- Polishing the mirrors and glass: Use two microfiber cloths, one wet and the other dry to polish the mirrors and glass surfaces in the house. Alternatively, you can use a damp cloth and newspaper to avoid any surface effects. Because with frequent contact without attention, bacteria begin to appear and spread to this alcohol or chlorine disinfectant when cleaning. 7- Polishing surfaces: polish surfaces at home completely, especially those subject to frequent touch such as light buttons, door handles, telephone, and remote control with disinfectants. Because all of these things accumulate bacteria in abundance and are usually forgotten while cleaning. Also use the wood polish to clean the parquet and furniture, as it will give you a feeling of cleanliness quickly.
8- Kitchen and bathroom: You have previously sprayed appropriate cleaning fluids in the kitchen and bathroom, which helped to dissolve stains and clumps, as this will make cleaning very easy, especially with the use of brushes or a cleaning sponge as needed. And count on the use of chlorine and other disinfectants in cleaning because it will help you in killing bacteria. 9- Cleaning floors: You can wipe or rub floors in the house as needed and it is preferred not to use spaces in the kitchen and bathroom at least at the corners. Rather, it is preferable to use small brushes and go down on the knee and hands to reach more efficiently to the narrow and invisible areas. 10- Vacuuming the vacuum cleaner: Use the vacuum cleaner to collect all the remaining dust in the house completely from all the floors. 11- Disinfect surfaces from bacteria Take care to cleanse all the surfaces of the house from floors, tables and desks to the door handles, bathrooms and sinks, and all this by adding 1/2 cup of chlorine to a bucket of water and the house will be polished and let it dry automatically. Be careful to wear gloves and a mask while doing this task to ensure that you protect yourself from any bacteria. From time to time, disinfect your wipe device by soaking it in 1/2 cup chlorine and a bucket of water for 15 to 20 minutes, to ensure that bacteria that can accumulate are killed. In the tool used for cleaning. 12- Disinfect children toys from bacteria if you have children and want to protect them from infection with any bacteria or diseases. You should pay close attention to collecting the plastic toys they have, which have no electricity, put them in a large water bucket, add 2 teaspoons of chlorine and leave it for two minutes. Then rinse it with warm water and let it dry in the air. Be careful: make sure to wash the toys well so that the chlorine does not remain stuck with it.

19. Clearly Natural Glycerin Bar Soap, Unscented
Tumblr media
Clearly Natural Glycerin Bar Soap, Unscented is a Glycerin based soap, which is popular for complete cleansing and leaving no residue. Since it contains Glycerin so it is not a good choice for washing oily skin.
20. CeraVe Body Wash for Dry Skin
Tumblr media
Last but not least, CeraVe Body Wash for Dry Skin, which includes essential ceramides. Ceramides is important for maintaining moisture in the skin. Also, this soap is free of sulfates and parabens.
Why should you Use Antibacterial Soap for Cleaning your Tattoo
As said earlier, it is very important to keep your tattoo clean and moisturized. So, the moment you get a tattoo it becomes crucial that you maintain it, and if you fail to do so it can create problems or may be it can lead to infection. More often than not, tattoo artists provide specific aftercare instructions about what to do and what not to do. Also, he instructs about using the right antibacterial soap for cleaning the tattoo and to moisturize it with good lotion.
Also Read: Tattoo Hygiene Practices
Keeping your tattoo cleaned speeds up the healing process. Depending on the size of your tattoo, it might take a few weeks to a few months before it completely heals. Since a tattoo is nothing but an open wound, during the healing period, it can be exposed to infection. That’s why it is very important to clean it using an antibacterial soap.
Step-by-Step Guide how to wash your Tattoo
The moment your tattoo will be done, your tattoo artist will wrap it with a transparent sheet, before you leave the tattoo studio. This step is to prevent the entry of bacteria and viruses that could damage the skin. After reaching home after two –three hours you are allowed to remove the wrap, but then you need to take good care of your tattoo. If you will not keep your tattoo clean, the risk of excessive scabbing will increase. However, a slight scab is normal.
Also, it is crucial that you follow the right way to clean your tattoo. And here is how you can clean your tattoo…..
Step 1: Wash your hand first before you start cleaning your tattoo
Cleaning your hand before you actually clean your tattoo is. As we all know that our hands are actually carriers of bacteria, and cleaning a tattoo with un-cleaned hands result in an infection. So, before cleaning your tattoo thoroughly wash your hands with the right antibacterial soap, you can use any of the soaps mentioned in the post itself.
Step 2: Wet the area where your tattoo is
Now it’s time to wet the area where your tattoo is. Make sure you use lukewarm water only. Using too hot water can open up the pores and can also be painful. Also, it is crucial that you do not put your tattoo directly under running water. Instead, take lukewarm water in a jug or bowl and pour it slowly on your tattoo.
Step 3: Rub the water in a circular motion and apply antibacterial soap
Not all antibacterial soaps are in foam form, some are concentrated and they need to be diluted first. I your soap is also concentrated then you will need to dilute it first and then apply it on the area where the tattoo is, make sure you apply in circular motion. Do not ever use a towel or washcloth with soap to scrub the tattoo. Also, don’t rub it too hard, keep your motions gentle and soft. Putting excessive pressure can damage the new tattoo.
Step 4: Now rinse the tattoo and let it dry.
Last but not least, clean your tattoo nicely, leaving no traces of soap on the surface. Once you have removed your soap gently dab the area with a paper towel and let it dry. Dab it gently and softly. How to Choose the Right Antibacterial Soap for Your Tattoo
Of course, it is not easy to choose the right soap for your tattoo amongst so many options available. But still you can’t just pick any soap. You need to choose the best soap for your tattoo to speed up the healing procedure. For choosing the right soap for your tattoo follow the below instructions……
1. See all the Ingredients
While purchasing your tattoo soap, spend some time in looking into the label of the soap so that you can know which all ingredients are used in the soap. It is important that you look for soaps that are made organically and naturally, instead of spending in a soap that contains harsh chemicals. Because harsh chemicals can affect your tattoo adversely, which is not wise! Also, make sure that the soap is free of parabens and alcohol, as alcohol makes the skin dry.
2. Your Skin Type
We all have different types of skins, from normal to extra oily. Hence it is crucial that the soap you buy is according to your skin type, as it will also impact your tattoo. For instance, if you have dry skin you should buy a soap with naturally moisturizing agents so that the area of your tattoo doesn’t remain dry.
3. Antibacterial Properties
Another most important aspect is to see the antibacterial properties of the soap. Your soap should be able to provide your 100% protection from bacteria and external allergens or foreign elements. If your soap is not doing the job properly then there is no point of spending money on that.
4. Fragrance
More often than not, these medicated or antibacterial soaps are fragrance free, because fragrances in soaps can cause skin irritation, especially when they contain chemicals. But it is always good to skip soaps with artificial dyes and fragrances. So, choose wisely!
FINAL VERDICT
Though you can choose any soap for cleaning your tattoo but the best would be the one that helps your skin to heal properly. Choosing the one with moisturizing will help your tattoo heal faster. To keep your tattoo looking its best and maintain the health of your skin use the right soap. Using the right soap will not only speed up the healing process, but also it will prevent your tattoo from any infection and other serious problems.
Happy Tattooing…. ☺ ☺

10TH SEPTEMBER 2021
Wow so much to update you all on!
Majority of the UK has now been double vaccinated, and it seems to be working. People are still getting I'll, but less are admitted to hospitals and dying now which is amazing.
Some indoor venues, like weddings and nightclubs etc aren't allowing people in unless you are double vaccinated or can proove a negative flow.. which is great in my opinion. However it is easy to fake or lie about it.. as you don't have to submit any evidence when reporting it which seems crazy to me. I guess we just have to have trust in one another.
Download festival 2021 ran a pilot this year too. So less people than normal and all had to test before during and after the festival. A few people contracted the virus. But not everyone so they deemed it a sucess.
Flights abroad are done in a similar fashion now too. Having to test before and if you show positive you have to quarantine for 10 days. Resulting is possibly missing your holiday 🙈. But at least it's trying to stop the spread.
My first experience of being back out in the wide world really was at a friend's wedding in July. We had to show a negative result, masks weren't needed whilst eating but we're for everything else indoors. And no dancing indoors was allowed. It was still a lovely occasion, and everyone sort of relaxed into it as the time went on. It definitely helped me knowing we all had tho show negative results.
I also went to a friend's hen do in york. I took my own sleeping bag, and pillow case, wiped surfaces and sprayed Dettol air spray everywhere when we arrived. But, reassuringly the hotel smelt of bleach as soon you opened the door anyway which relaxed me! And when we were out I just wore masks and at the restaurant I wiped my cutlery before using.
I also went to Slam dunk this year with 1000's of people. I about had a panic attack before going as I was super nervous. But I wore mask on and off and antibacked regularly. And at the club night we just stayed to our own little group. But a friend did get ill and miraculously none of the rest of us did! Even though we all shared hotel rooms, (some people even shared drinks and kissed) and a car with them.
Similar happend back in June too though, after a BBQ a friend got pinged and it meant we had to cancel all plans and spend my birthday indoors (even though we tested negative). That's changed now though, I think it's as long as you've been double vaccinated if you come into contact with someone who's tested positive you don't have to isolate, or even lateral flow. I did though, everyday for about a week. It's just so scary not knowing if you may have it.. and I'm petrified of passing it on to someone and not knowing - I even told my work colleagues to get tested just incase I have it and don't know - I just feel so responsible for everyone else lives! And I just hope others feel similar about mine and are sensible and honest.
Especially as we're having to go back to work now 5 days a week! I can't believe it. They even arranged a back to worth gathering which I just thought was irresponsible even if it was section ed off that's still a lot of people in one office.
I raised my concerns about going back to work with HR. And it was such a weird experience. O felt listened to. And semi reassured, to their degree. Bit I don't think they understand it from other people's points of views. Like do they realise I'll be having to spray and clean toilet seats and chairs before I touch them?! 😂🙈
And ok, they say I can wear a mask if I chose too. But it's not practical and I've also read masks predominantly prevent others more than me.. so what's the point if no one else is?
I've also realised I've lost a stone since start of lockdown... But more predominantly the last 10months... Without really trying.. just a change of diet and a bit of exercise. Which all stemed from my stress ibs.
So yeah, a lot has happened. And it has definitely got easier to deal with in small doses. It also helps that the news isn't banging on about it 24/7 too! But double edge sword - it's also making people act like it's gone for gone and it hasn't, and I'm not sure it ever will.....

As we approach a time where more people are thinking of their late-summer holidays or staycations when we're able, I thought it was fitting to look at those things you may need to stock up on or that you may not usually think of packing! I must admit, I take a bit of everything with me - need it or not. I'm a terrible example to follow for packing... But sometimes those little bits and bobs come more in handy than you'd ever think. You may even thank me when they save the day. 1. Washing Detergent I've posted about this before but it's my absolute top tip for travelling - always take a travel bottle filled with washing detergent. It's so so handy and the best thing I take with me. I personally bought a travel bottle for about 50p from Boots and I fill it with a combination of washing detergent and fabric conditioner and Kas and I use it all the time! It's so useful for any spillages on clothing, hand-washing if you haven't packed enough of something, any spillages on hotel carpets (I spilt Coke all over the carpet in a Hilton once... I was mortified! Although admittedly more concerned when my patch was then cleaner than the rest of the carpet...) or spillages on the duvet if you're like Kas who gets Tikka Masala on the white sheets every time. 2. Wet Wipes/Baby Wipes/Anti-Bacterial Wipes I honestly couldn't travel anywhere without wipes. Honestly, going through my backpack I just pulled out a packet of baby wipes; a packet of anti-bacterial wipes and TWO packets of "Wet Ones"/Carex wipes. But to me, they're essential, now more than ever. Before COVID I still travelled with my multiple packets of wipes because they're just nice to have there for when the only table in Wetherspoons hasn't been cleaned yet or when you eat a massive burger and end up with sticky fingers. I constantly find myself reaching for a packet of wipes and I'm glad that I always have them there. A newer addition is the anti-bacterial wipes, I'm well prepared (or so I like to think) for when we're able to travel again and invested in some Dettol wipes and I fully intend on wiping every surface in sight!
3. Plasters Plasters are another very important thing to pack for me. This one might seem obvious but I know a lot of people who would forget them! I like to keep a box of plasters with me and readily available and generally, not even for cuts or injuries. I'm a stickler for absolutely covering my feet in plasters if I know I'm going to be walking for a long time... Or at the very least having them in my bag ready to put on. Not only that, but blister plasters in particular and also the ball-of-foot pads you can get are extra handy. Your feet will thank you for it after a long, hot, day's walk!  4. Power Bank Although getting increasingly more popular, I've had a few instances now where I've played good Samaritan and loaned my power bank to a person in need so they definitely make the list. A power bank, for those who don't know, is essentially a re-chargeable battery that you can connect your devices to in order to charge them up. They're typically used to charge up your phone, but I use mine to charge my wireless headphones and I also intend on using it to charge my wireless fan! I use one by the brand "Poweradd" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Poweradd-Portable-Universal-External-Red-Black/dp/B00XVTJKCQ/ similar to this) and I get a good five or so full charges of my iPhone. Remember to also pack any charging cables you may need! 5. Fan ...I know what you may be thinking, a fan?! Don't worry, I don't mean you should all struggle to get a full-size fan into your suitcases. I recently moved on from using my £2 foam hand-held fans (I'm sure you can picture the ones) and invested in an excellent wireless/rechargeable fan and I can already see it coming in so handy. I have this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FJSJ2QK/ - thanks again go to Kas' sister, Saara, for the recommendation - and it's great. On it's lowest setting the fan lasted me about 10 hours and even that setting is so pleasant on a hot day. Though, my main reason for suggesting this is for those who travel by train. I'm sure anyone who's ever travelled via Northern Rail knows the struggle of a hot carriage where the windows don't open and it's often over-crowded. A fan, in this situation, would be a life-saver and I'm so looking forward to using mine for that purpose when I'm able.

Some US influencers are starting to address the coronavirus situation while others in the UK are also asking where to get hand sanitising lotions because the drugstores have run out. Here's a tip in case you need it: buy the next best thing - Dettol wet wipes. Not only are they gentle enough for your hands, they're great for wiping down surfaces if you're concerned about being in a crowded public space.
Just to be clear, I'm not, in any way, linked to Dettol - as an ambassador, affiliate, whatsoever. This is not sponsored, not an ad and I do not make a cent from my suggestion. I'm sharing purely because we're 'ahead of the game' so to speak and have been coping with the situation for awhile now. We've also had past experience with other virus outbreaks and passing on our knowledge will help more people to deal with the current situation.
I'm also grateful to the influencers in the US and UK who've spoken out against xenophobia as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and encouraging people to be more nuanced when talking about the situation so as not to cause mass hysteria. From someone living in the midst of it, all I can say is, life goes on as normal, as long as we take the necessary precautions against catching and spreading the virus.
Bottomline: stay calm and do your best to protect yourself and your loved ones. Eat nutrient-dense foods, explore alternative medicinal herbs (cordyceps are great!), exercise whenever you can, get enough rest, destress with music, books, meditation, singing, dance or Netflix and practise better hygiene.
Speaking of dance, the bluish-haired babe in this video is probably not considered curvy but...
OMG her hair is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 I know curls are popular in Western countries but for Asians in Southeast Asia, many of us love the sleek, straight look for a reason and this IS the reason. Waves and curls just don't have that same movement, even if they're also attractive in their own way.
In my early to mid 30s, I had almost waist-length hair like this. Seeing it again gives me all the feels, especially since I love dance... 😍
Tumblr media
Anyway, I digress, sorry! 😋 It's good to see Americans paying more attention to health matters, because it truly is necessary during this period if we're all to weather the storm together. Yes, it IS tough, I won't deny it. However, rather than panic and go crazy, our emotional wellbeing can be better protected when we know there're ways to take care of ourselves and our loved ones.
Before sharing the curvy babes, here's a tip for busy bees who really cannot set aside a full hour block to get active. Each time you get off the couch or bed to use the washroom or grab a glass of water, do 5 to 10 squats. When you get back, before you sit or lie back down, do another 5 to 10. When bedtime rolls around, you'll have done plenty.
Now if you already squat and are looking for other calisthenics exercises to do, here's the babe you should check out.
You wanna work those glutes, right? There're several to choose from; just swipe right!
What if you don't wanna be indoors and you prefer some fresh air and sun, both of which are especially helpful for dealing with virus outbreak situations?
Well, you take a cue from Ebony and get out there with cardio and plyometrics! Cardio has gotten such an unfair bad rep in recent years, especially from gym rats and bunnies. But let me set this straight for you: in the 1980s, aerobics was the rage and guess what? People were like... healthy too, you know? 😂
Just a heads up, you will pant. And that is perfectly normal. Because what panting does is, it expands your lungs, it gives them a good workout and it keeps them strong. 1 of the coronavirus symptoms is pneumonia and a good set of lungs is so important during this period, so run, jump rope, do those jumping jacks and dance, yeah, even on the streets!
Other ways to get strong are:
Lifting/gymming...
Big weights or small doesn't matter, and...
Cycling. It's fantastic cardio too, btw!
And now we have the favourite way to get active, by far. I mean, really. So many laydehs are great at dancing and it's an exercise that makes everyone happy.
I've loved Hawai'i since I stayed there in my mid-20s. What a treat it is to see the gentle, sensual sway that is their form of dance!
When curvy babes take to the dance floor, they work it like anyone else can.
Another sexy dance form like salsa and zumba, the samba can also be done outdoors!
If you're looking for an inclusive and safe space to dance, check out this group. They hold auditions to join them too 👌
Tumblr media
Let's get real, ok? Ok. Many of us think that the coronavirus is on its way to becoming a pandemic. However. Since when has panic and hysteria gotten anyone anywhere? The best thing you can do - for yourself and your loved ones - is to keep calm and find ways to boost your immunity, as well as take the necessary precautions.
It's also about time that nations unite to fight the spread of the virus rather than turn against one another (hear that Trump and all those bozos demanding an apology from China?). Being myopic and bigoted isn't gonna get us anywhere, so let's all have some humble pie, sit down together and start the conversation. We'll benefit from this.
Till the next post, stay sweet!
