MPV Tehran Type, 1972. The product of a rare collaboration between Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Volkswagen who were commissioned by the German government (under Chancellor Willy Brandt) to create a gift for 12-year-old Crown Prince Rezza Pahlavy, the son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran. Designed as a bespoke desert-racing vehicle which would assist the young Prince to learn to drive, the Tehran was powered by a rear-mounted Volkswagen engine. The car was supplied with two keys, a silver key that limited the Prince to 30km/h or a gold key that allowed full power and a top speed of 170km/h. Since the fall of the Shah it has been on display as part of the collection at the National Car Museum of Iran as it is considered part of Iran's national heritage. The museum also houses other cars once owned by the last Shah of the Pahlavi Dynasty, including sports cars, limousines, motorcycles, and carriages.

i think that speed racer the video game for the ps2 is one of the best combat racers ever

specifically the ps2 version because the cars actually have weight in the game!!! unlike the wii version, which means you have to balance out using car-fu and getting boost vs keeping up your speed and whenever you pull off a really well done move that does both it's so satisfying

the combat system also makes it so that you can basically do every single car-fu move (not on rally circuits) in the movie and chain them together, and counter-attack/dodge if you react fast enough!!

the bullet time in single player is also such a satisfying addition to car-fu, and the dialogues for different drivers when different actions happen gives it such a nice charm
