hello this is your book speaking. for your question: basically kafka died before the completion of the manuscript of the trial (& consequentelly there are a handful of unfinished chapters that don't fit in the novel as such) and the order of the existing chapters was determined by his friend/executor max brod (again kafka's wishes as you know). as far as i'm aware there are no major deviations from the 1925 publication order - some editions include the incomplete chapters at the end with indication as to where they could be placed, which should be the only major difference unless the publisher of your ebook took some creative liberties (which could be interesting in my opinion!). for further information i really recommend starting with the foreword of the 1998 english edition, translated by breon mitchell whose introduction is also worth reading (available by asking me for the file). enjoy xx

so, speaking of creative liberties. german publishers seem to have occasionally strayed a bit further away from the brod version (which, btw, is indeed the version of my archive dot org ebook). there's an indie press version that extremely confidently proposes a different chapter order and thematic interpretation (and whose author also doesn't seem to have shied away from promoting his work on wikipedia. i have some doubts as to whether this book shook the kafka world quite as much as the author promises). there's also a "historical-critical edition" that contains copies of kafka's notes and transcribes everything (including deletions) and makes no claims whatsoever regarding the chapter order (every chapter is its own booklet). curiously enough, the audio book version that i found is based on that latter version -- listeners are encouraged to pick their own chapter order, with no guide given although they had to decide on a linear version for the radio broadcast (the order of the files listed on the website -- which may or may not be the radio order -- is a bit different from brod's version). it also contains the deletions/notes/etc and tries to convey this amalgamation through frequent narrator changes and strange audio effects (it sounds like they made one of the narrators sit in another room while recording). great for fans of disorienting media. anyway here's three reviews: x x x

Hey so we all think about this a regular amount..

Like I'm not the only dude thinking of Hosea and Dutch and their suits having the exact brooches, right??

I even went to search which these could be, and their meaning. Apparently, white flowers symbolize purity and innocence — and whatever flowers these may be ( google had given me carnations and camellias—If anybody actually knows what flowers their brooches are, do say!! ). I also, believe that white carnations usually(?) partake within a wedding? Because they too symbolize "pure love" and from what I had quickly found, "devotion". I seriously do not know, I'm not at all understanding of flowers so take what I yap to a grain of salt. I just felt silly today and wanted to look into this because I had to replay The Glided Cage mission!! Okwy im done yapping im gonna make a dutch edit- everyone please have yourself a wonderful dayyy!!!! Mwahmwahhh <3

Here's one of those Procreate videos from my last artwork. I pasted in the sketch plus some ink work from another file when I realised the resolution was a bit too small. I ended up redrawing Arthur's hand/eye and adding the flowers in a different file too. But I guess it can help if you're thinking of attempting the RDR art style!

I used a combination of the standard syrup brush in Procreate and a paid acrylic paint brush from some True Grit set. All done on a really old standard iPad 😂
