A meme involving I Love Video Games / Me Too from (500) Days of Summer, but with classic cartoon franchises: The recognizable ones (Mickey Mouse and Friends, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo) on left and forgotten/used to be popular ones (Felix the Cat, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Popeye, Betty Boop, Droopy, Woody Woodpecker, The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Mighty Mouse and The Pink Panther) on right.

My family and I are currently rewatching Toy Story 2 and once the movie got to the part where Woody discovers that he was the star of a famous 1950s puppet show, I spent a lot of time wondering what happened to the series between the cancellation and the then-present time of the first two movies.
Was there ever an animated spinoff during the Dark Age of Animation? Hanna-Barbera, Filmation and DePatie-Freleng did make a lot of animated spin-offs of live action properties during those times (such as Gilligan's Isle, Tarzan, Batman '66 and Planet of the Apes) so it'd make a bit of sense if Woody's Roundup got similar treatment. Were there any attempts at making a big budget Hollywood movie in the 80s or 90s? The 90s were chock-full of adaptations of old TV shows from the 60s and 70s so again, it'd make sense if Woody's Roundup was optioned at one point. Maybe the movie never happened in that universe because it fell victim to Development Hell and some of the crew or cast jumped ship over to the 1995 Buzz Lightyear movie?

Happy Late 60th Anniversary to The Pink Panther!!!!
According to Wikipedia, The Pink Panther movie was actually released first in Italy in December 18, 1963 before the character made his debut in United States on March 18, 1964: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pink_Panther_(1963_film)

Obscure Animation Subject #167: The Dogfather
Basically a parody of The Godfather if you put canines in the crime syndicate. Produced by DePatie–Freleng Enterprises as their final theatrical cartoon series, 17 shorts were released in theaters by United Artists from June 27, 1974 to April 30, 1976. Directors for the shorts are Hawley Pratt, Gerry Chiniquy and Art Leonardi, with scripts written by Bob Ogle, Friz Freleng, Don R. Christensen, David Detiege and John Dunn. Animators for the shorts are John Gibbs, Bob Matz, Norman McCabe, Bob Richardson, Warren Batchelder, Don Williams, Bob Bransford and Nelson Shin.
The series was not well-received, it was criticized for for the short rehashing many Looney Tunes shorts, which made it unoriginal, and not helping is that Friz Freleng was one of its producers, previously a director for Warner Bros., with his studio having many former Warner Bros. animators.
The legacy of the Dogfather doesn’t end there, as the titular character returned redesign as a recurring antagonist for the 1993 The Pink Panther television show. Kino Lorber also released the entire original theatrical filmography on physical media in April 2018.
Maybe it has a cult following but it should remain forgotten. It’s boring to watch.
