Activating Excellence: The Role of Bleaching Earth in Oil Purification
Oil purification is essential in the chemical and food industries. It ensures the oil we consume is of high quality and safe. Activated bleaching earth is the key material that is used in the process of oil purification.
What is Bleaching Earth?
Bleaching earth is commonly called bleaching clay. It is a fine and powdery substance that is made from natural minerals like attapulgite and bentonite. These natural minerals contain montmorillonite. Montmorillonite is a type of clay that has high absorbent properties, which makes bleaching earth a great component for removing impurities from oil.
Bleaching earth can be found in many parts of the world including the USA, China, Brazil and India. Before using it for oil purification, it is processed and treated with acid to boost its ability to absorb the impurities.
How Does Bleaching Earth Work?
The role of activated bleaching earth is to remove the impurities that can affect the colour, taste and stability of oil. The impurities present in the oil include pigments such as carotenoids and chlorophyll, phospholipids, trace metals and oxidation products.
Role of Activated Bleaching Earth in Oil Purification
The following are the points that explain the role of activated bleaching earth in oil purification:  Absorption: During the process of absorption, the activated bleaching earth absorbs pigments and colour bodies like chlorophyll and carotenoids. It gives crude oil its dark colour. This product makes the oil clearer and lighter. Bleaching earth also removes metals like copper and iron that can cause oil to go rancid. This helps the oil stay fresh for a longer time. Degumming: It is a process where bleaching earth removes phospholipids and clarifies the oil. The gum-like substance can make oil unstable and cloudy.
Neutralization: This process helps the bleaching earth neutralize components like fatty acids and oxidation products. Neutralization is done because these products can degrade the quality of oil during oil processing.
 Benefits of Using Bleaching Earth
There are several benefits of using activated bleaching earth in oil purification. Some of them are:
It helps in giving improved oil quality by removing impurities. This helps in increasing the shelf life of the oil.
Using bleaching earth from a leading activated bleaching earth manufacturer in India can improve the smell and taste of edible oils. It helps in making the oil look more appealing to its consumers.
By eliminating trace metals and other pro-oxidants, bleaching earth can help in the prevention of rancidity. This helps in keeping oils fresh for a long time.
Purified oils can be used as vegetable oils, animal fats and even for biodiesel purification.
Process of Oil PurificationThere are several steps included in the process of oil purification. Some of them are:
Degumming: It is a process where water or an acid is added to crude oil for the removal of phospholipids and hydration. It is done by using a centrifuge which helps in separating the hydrated gums from the oil.
Neutralization: During this process, the oil is treated with sodium hydroxide. It helps in freeing the oil from fatty acids by forming a soap stock.
Bleaching: For bleaching, the mixture is heated and stirred continuously to ensure the absorption of impurities. Using the filtration process, the oil and bleaching earth are separated.
Deodorization: The final step involves the removal of any remaining volatile compounds that can majorly affect the smell and taste of the oil. For the process of deodorization, the oil is heated under vacuum conditions to achieve the best quality oil.

Transitioning to Natural Deodorant: What to Expect
Transitioning to natural deodorant can be a significant change for your body, and knowing what to expect can help you navigate the process smoothly. When you first switch to a natural deodorant, you may experience a detox period, during which your body adjusts to the absence of the chemicals found in conventional deodorants. This detox phase can last from a few days to a few weeks and might involve increased sweating and body odor as your pores unclog and your body expels toxins. It’s important to be patient and allow your body time to adjust, as the long-term benefits of using natural deodorant far outweigh this temporary inconvenience.
During the transition period, maintaining good hygiene is crucial to manage any increase in odor. Washing your underarms with a gentle, natural soap can help reduce bacteria and keep you feeling fresh. Some people find that using a detox mask made from bentonite clay or activated charcoal can accelerate the detox process by drawing out impurities. Staying hydrated and eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables can also support your body’s natural detoxification processes. Remember, the goal is to allow your body to return to its natural state while providing it with healthier, non-toxic odor protection through the use of natural deodorant.
After the initial detox phase, you will likely find that your body has adjusted to the natural deodorant, and you experience less sweating and odor. Many people report feeling more comfortable and experiencing fewer skin issues, such as irritation and rashes, compared to when they used conventional deodorants. The key to a successful transition is finding the right natural deodorant that works for you. This might involve some trial and error, as individual body chemistry can affect how well a particular product performs. By being patient and attentive to your body’s needs, you can enjoy the benefits of natural deodorant and a healthier, more natural approach to personal care.

Witch Tips- Crystal Deodorant
What? A witchcraft related post on this blog you followed for witchcraft related things?! Absolutely wild.
No but this is actually a purely secular witchcraft related thing which I feel like I haven't posted something like that in ages. So buckle up, it's going to be a long one.
Anyway....
I am a very reasonable hippie. I love "unnatural" things like my contact lenses, antidepressants, and vaccines, but I also tend to seek out the green or more natural version of things provided that
A- It actually does what it says it does
And B- the price and effort required doesn't outweigh the benefits
And this new thing that I've been trying for the past 3 months or so definitely meets those criteria and is a great addition to my witchy toolbox: crystal deodorant.
What the hell is that?
It's a salt rock that you use as deodorant.
No I'm not joking.
I've been looking into a few different natural deodorant options for awhile now, simply because there's a lot of conflicting research on the long-term effects of ingredients in antiperspirants (aluminum, propylene glycol, parabens, various fragrances, etc.)
Again, I'm not against artificial ingredients solely because they're artificial. Everything is chemicals, after all. But as I've been studying for my personal trainer certification exam, I"ve learned more about the importance of being able to sweat during physical activity. Antiperspirants clog sweat glands. That's how they work. The armpits also contain lymph nodes, which filter out any bacteria/bad compounds that eventually excrete through waste. So the less work I can make for them, the better.
But most DIY "natural" deodorant recipes suck. Maybe for those that live in colder climates or aren't as physically active, they could work.
Native Deodorant, which is probably the most popular natural one on the market right now is thirteen dollars for a single stick. No thanks.
Crystal deodorant though- that's a game changer.
Tumblr media
There are various brands, but this is the one I tried. About 5-6 dollars depending on where you buy which is about the same as the Old Spice I used to use, maybe a dollar more.
It's a literal stick of mineral salts. You apply it onto wet skin (or run the stick under water briefly), and it deposits a layer of particles that are too small to absorb into the skin but kills any bacteria that accumulates as you sweat. It's advertised as lasting 24 hours with no odor. I've found that I can get 18-24 depending on the weather and my activity level.
Y'all- this thing works. I've been out working in the garden in 90 degree weather, sweating like crazy, but no smell. No residue getting on my clothes, no fragrance or other things that might irritate sensitive skin. It also lasts quite a bit longer since you're not using a ton of product per application. I've been using it for nearly three months straight and my stone is barely smaller than it was when I first got it.
The few drawbacks is that it's kind of hard to take with you and reapply quickly. You have to get the stone wet/put it on wet skin for it to work so it's not something you can just throw on at random.
If you've been using standard antiperspirant for awhile, it's common to sweat more/smell worse the first few days using natural products. Mixing a bit of ACV with baking soda or bentonite clay and applying it like a mask before a shower will drastically reduce that "transition" time period.
I typically put it on right after I shower but be warned- don't put it on right after you shave. Because even if you didn't cut yourself, shaving still creates micro-abrasions on your skin that fucking hurt if you put salt on them. Literal salt in a wound. (Found this out the hard way)
Kate, this is neat but why is it witchy?
It's a massive stick of salt! Salt is a key component in many spells for cleansing and especially protection. I drew a simple sigil on the bottom of the stick and now I've incorporated a mini protection spell into my daily routine. This kind of spell is so helpful especially if you get into a rut/have trouble maintaining a regular practice.
I hope this is helpful for y'all, if you have any questions about natural skincare/hygiene products please message me because I love talking about this stuff. (I could write a full essay on my diva cup, for real) Or you can just message me in general to say hi! I'm traveling for a wedding this week so I may not be able to respond right away but I'm always down for making new witchy friends.
Have a wonderful day fellow witches, brightest of blessings!-Kate

Money saving stripper tips
Personal care
Razors: safety razors are about $35 but they essentially last forever (as long as you take them apart after each use and let them dry out) and you can get blades for as cheap as $1 per pack if you buy in bulk. Also they shave way better and spread less bacteria than cartridges. Less to zero plastic waste compared to cartridges as well.
Setting spray: make your own. both use ingredients you maybe already have. Spray, witch hazel and or rose water (use alcohol as a small part of your spray if you like it, too much alcohol can break down your makeup).
Setting Powder: 1 part cornstarch, 1 part arrowroot powder, 1/4 part bentonite clay, 1/4 part cocoa powder and/or turmeric depending on your skin tone, mix well, use a small glass container (reusable/sanitizable). Wash your makeup brushes at least weekly with mild soap and water to prolong their life and prevent bacteria spread.
Fragrance: oils instead of sprays. they last way longer and you don’t have to use as much. Find them at natural food stores or occult shops.
Period products: Menstrual cups are about $40 but if you take care of them they can last for a year or more. Same goes for menstrual discs but they’re only about $25. if they work for you, cups and discs are amazing. You can leave them in for 12 hours and they hold up to an ounce of fluid at a time. Unless you’re on a super heavy day you shouldn’t have to empty it during ur shift. If you do, dump ur cup out in the toilet, rinse it and pop it back in. Discs are even easier, you just bare down like you’re gonna poop and the blood comes out while the disc stays in place (still rinse it out at least once a day). Be careful not to forget about it. 12 hours max! I wash my disc out with soap every night after wearing it. I use heavy absorbency period underwear to sleep in (you can totally sleep with the disc or cup in. I just find period undies more comfy). Def wash urs at the end of ur cycle with soap and water and make sure it’s completely dry before you put it away for the month. Here’s a quiz to find the best menstrual cup for you: https://menstrualcupreviews.net/quiz/. My preferred non-toxic and affordable period underwear company: https://period.co/collections/all
Deodorant booster: bacteria can build up in ur pores of ur armpits especially if you shave a lot. Do an armpit clay mask whenever u feel like your armpits are extra dank. It gets deep inside ur pores and gets rid of debris that could be holding onto bacteria and smells. Mix 1 to 2 tsp clay powder (I use bentonite but there are many more types) with a small amount of water in a small bowl until it has a uniform consistency. Spread a layer of the wet clay under ur armpits with ur fingers wherever u shave. Lay down on ur back with ur arms up until the clay has dried or mostly dried. Jump in the shower and let warm water rehydrate the clay and wash it away. If u do this regularly, even just a couple times a year, you won’t have to use a much or as harsh of deodorants.

The potent anti-bacterial properties of basil leaves can heal acute stomach infection caused by eating tainted foods and / or drinking contaminated water. Basil leaves also provide immediate relief from diarrhea and vomiting which are the main symptoms of food poisoning.
Grind a handful of fresh basil leaves in a mortar and pestle. To the freshly ground basil leaves, add a pinch of black salt, a pinch of black pepper and three to four tablespoons of plain yoghurt.
Mix the ingredients well. Have the basil leaves and yoghurt blend a couple of times a day (at least three to four times) to overcome food poisoning.
Purple basil tea is also an excellent option
Garlic:

Information Tuesday Urban Mystiks ❤️ Kaolin clay is an ingredient that I use in my deodorant and my clay masks. Kaolin removes toxins but it is more designed for sensitive skin.It softens the skin, leaving it toned and healthy. As a gentle cleanser, kaolin removes the impurities and dirt from the skin without drying it or causing any redness or irritation.Even though white kaolin clay is not as powerful as bentonite, it is still absorbent. It pulls the excess oils from the skin and helps to balance the oil production in the long run.Whether you’re dealing with irritated skin from bug bites or red rashes, kaolin clay can soothe the problematic area. It has mild healing properties but it has been effective in treating sore muscles, minor cuts, and bruises.Since kaolin clay is stimulating to the skin, it can tone it and tighten it at the same time. For the best results, you need to use it long term. . .click the link to shop and if you happen to have any more questions, DM me or text me at 302.650.9317 .
