MEET DENVER.
TW: mentions of injury, fire, drugs, overdose, death
Age: 30
Occupation: unemployed/former child star
Denver was born from a surprise one night entanglement between a director and a woman he met at the bar. Because of that, the two strangers eventually became close enough to at least co-parent decently for their son. It wasn’t the worst house growing up, a few arguments here and there about how Denver should be raised.
His mother, Julie, wanted her son to have a normal life and grow up with a decent job and decent friends. She tried her hardest to stay out of the spotlight and kept Denver mostly in those shadows of hers. His father, Brandon, on the other hand had different ideas the moment Denver started walking. He wanted his son in every commercial out there.
Denver growing up had a mixture of both lives their parents wanted with normal schooling throughout his education while he also did a few commercials and small parts in television shows and movies. It was nothing major until the roles after high school suddenly got more involved and more bigger than having a few lines.
He became the newest heartthrob in Hollywood.
Since then, it felt like a cake walk for Denver. He never really thought about college or anything past his time in acting because it felt like a forever job. It probably could’ve been a forever job if the accident didn’t happen. He was part of one of the more popular young adult television shows. The season finale was being filmed in a way no other show at the time had even thought of doing – thanks to their director. The house burning down was real and it nearly cost him and his co-star’s lives if he wasn’t there in time to move them both out of the area.
She was whisked away to the hospital while he had only minor injuries and could walk home. The show continued on without her and now with him in his own struggles beneath the happy face he held up at work. A new character was introduced and like before a new storyline of such a happy couple working together. Denver never really held any true feelings for his new co-host, he just blindly followed his agent. Why? Well, he had nothing else to do and nowhere to go.
As the months flew by, he fell more into his bad habits of drugs and alcohol. He claimed it was to help him sleep which was the truth, but it soon was feeling more out of control than just that. It gave him an escape from the horrors he still faced inside his head. Denver quickly found himself addicted to the feeling of being free and weightless. No longer tied down to his career or trauma, he continued his usage. He might’ve kept it up until he was shook back to his life when he was found nearly lifeless in the ditch. The thought of possibly dying in the wet and cold while he laid in the hospital bed, the kind stranger who found him in the chair next to the stretcher, had him wanting to vomit. Maybe no one saw how bad it was or maybe no one else cared to do something about it.
And so his next step was rehab. He wanted to get better by finally putting the past behind him and moving forward. It took a long six months until Denver felt as if he was back on the right track and could be out on his own. An old friend had mentioned the town Aurora Bay. A town where no one knew him would be just right up his alley.

if you’re hearing AS IT WAS by HARRY STYLES playing, you have to know GIOVANNI 'GIO' GAGLIARDI (HE/HIM; CIS MAN) is near by! the 30 year old MUSICIAN/GUITAR TEACHER has been in denver for, like, 6 MONTHS. they’re known to be quite AUDACIOUS, but being PERCEPTIVE seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble JOE KEERY. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those SECONDHAND GUITAR, DEAD VAPE, SPEAKING WITHOUT THINKING, AND THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the WASHINGTON PARK DISTRICT long enough!
born the youngest of six, Gio was always the baby. everyone knew it and there was nothing that was going to change that.
growing up travelling with carnivals was not what he would say the ideal childhood was. Gio enjoyed the travelling, but the carnival? if there's one in town, he'll pass. he never had skills that transferred well to it. maybe he could sing a little, but at the carnival? that was a dime a dozen. he didn't have any of his parents' or older brother's psychic gift.
he didn't blame Vince when he left. hell, he probably would have to, if he was old enough. alas, he was only 14 and had to stick around for a couple more years.
never setting down roots growing up meant he didn't necessarily desire to do so when he got older. he traveled around the country, doing the bare minimum to get by while playing his guitar.
that was how, a few years ago, he joined Grave Danger. they needed a guitarist... he was there. that's kind of the whole reason he's in the band. he makes it work.
DRUG USE TW !!
if you asked Gio about the first time he used drugs, he would say he didn't remember. it was a pill, someone gave it to him, that was the end of that.
except it wasn't the end of that (never is, really) and he developed a little bit of a pill habit - usually Xanax or Oxy - because he said it relaxed him. he'd drink too, but he didn't think that was a problem. he's been to rehab three times, so far, but he thinks the third time is the charm? right?
DRUG USE TW OVER !!
coming to denver wasn't entirely his choice. it's where his two older brother's live, but they have their own lives. he wouldn't want to get in the way of that. vince asked him to stay with him. he says it's because of stella, but Gio thinks he might have ulterior motives.
Gio WANTS to be a nice guy. he really does.... he's not though. he's an asshole and he's actually not really sorry about it either.
he doesn't know how to deal with kids, yet he teaches them to play guitar. a prayer circle may be needed.

Tory Lanez Denied Bond, Will Remain in Jail
September 14, 2023 12:59 PM PST
Tory Lanez will stay in jail.
His request to be released on bond pending his appeal was just denied.
If you recall, Tory asked the judge to let him return home to live with his son and new wife during his appeal process.
The judge wasn’t having it, noting that Tory has been convicted of a violent felony along with a history of violating court orders — and he’s not a U.S. citizen.
via Rolling Stone:
Representing Peterson in court were attorneys Crystal Morgan and Michael Hayden of the nonprofit legal group Unite the People, which is representing him for his appeal. The group’s CEO and director, Caesar McDowell, previously spoke about Peterson’s character during his sentencing hearing, noting that Peterson has donated time and resources to the organization. Outside the court Thursday morning, McDowell brought up concerns about the initial trial and said Peterson’s conviction and punishment wasn’t fair. “To be convicted for 10 years in state prison for your first time being in prison, we feel that that’s disproportionate, We feel that he wasn’t given a fair shake,” he said. Given the results of Peterson and his team’s previous efforts to lessen his punishment, getting granted bail was never the most likely outcome. The request came after Peterson was denied probation prior to last month’s sentencing when his attorneys said Peterson suffered from alcohol and drug addiction and should go to rehab instead. Herriford also denied Peterson’s request for a new trial in May. Peterson was sentenced for the shooting in August, nearly eight months after he was found guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. Ahead of his sentencing, Pete wrote a statement about the hardships she has endured since the shooting. “I struggle with being present. After everything that occurred I cannot bring myself back to being in the same room with Tory,” Pete wrote. “He paid bloggers to disseminate false information; he treated my trauma like a joke when I could’ve been dead. He blamed the system, he blamed the press, and as of late he is using his childhood trauma to justify his actions.” Peterson pleaded for leniency from Herriford prior to the sentencing, noting he needed to be in his son’s life and refuting that the shooting represented who he is as a person. “I’m standing in front of you as a father to a six-year-old who needs me every step of the way,” Peterson told Judge David Herriford. “There’s been this misconception about me being this monster, not having remorse, that’s just not true,” he said, noting that he couldn’t go into specifics about the evening at the advice of his legal counsel. “That night, everyone was drunk, I said things I shouldn’t have said. The victim was my friend, I still care about her. We both lost mothers, we’d sit there and drink until we felt numb. Everything I did wrong that night I take responsibility for.” Never having admitted to the shooting, Peterson wrote a letter to fans days after his sentencing maintaining he was wrongfully convicted and refusing to apologize. “I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will,” Peterson wrote. “This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved… that’s it. In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do.”
We bet he wishes he would’ve taken that plea deal now…

UTAH
2023 Jun 2 (Fri) – Again, we drove through the mountains today. We took a different route and drove through places called Eden, Huntsville, and Brigham City. The Wasatch Range was breathtaking. Such a beautiful place.
Since we are moving tomorrow, we did laundry and food shopping. There was some kind of fun carnival going on in the field adjacent to the campground. It was the Summer Kick Off. There were lots of kids activities, drawings, and food trucks. It looked like fun. We walked around looking at everything then returned to the camper.
We wandered over to the fitness center to take a look. It is a world class gym. They have a 45 ft climbing wall, 2 racquetball courts, 2 basketball courts, aerobic and weight resistance machines, a weight room, and classrooms. We were very impressed. There is also an outdoor track right next to the campground. Paul walks around it every morning.
2023 Jun 1 (Thu) – We drove to the Family Research Library. The Mormons have a worldwide database on the population. I was hoping they could help me trace my grandmother back into Ireland. Aside from confirming her maiden name, I didn’t really find out anything new. It was a little disappointing.
After the library, we toured the state capitol. There were four floors we explored. The staircases were sweeping and there was lots of stone and granite. The senate, house, and congress were all open to look in on. There was nothing going on.
Next stop was at the Gourmandise Café. It was an interesting French pastry café. We got a table outside on the patio. We both got a grill cheese panini. It was good.
When we got back on base, we stopped at the BX to restock our libations.
2023 May 31 (Wed) – We are now in full on mode to complete our Alaska plans. I have been making calls to campgrounds and vendors; Paul has been finalizing our map instructions and route planning. I took time to pay the bills. Gotta love that online banking!
We went out for lunch at Phoenix House. Back home, Phoenix House is a drug rehab house. Funny this should have the same name. We stopped at both Office Depot and Staples to get binders and tabs for the Travel Guide we are putting together for the Alaska Caravan. We didn’t find all of what we wanted. When we got back, I placed an order online for items to be picked up at Staples when we get to Great Falls.
We drove into the mountains this afternoon. What beautiful country this is! We were going to drive through a pass but it was closed. Probably some kind of land slide. We drove through another pass but it wasn’t as nice as the one that was closed (Paul drove it while I was gone). We stopped at a little café on the side of the road and got coffee and a muffin. It was very nice.
2023 May 30 (Tue) – I got back from New York yesterday. What a whirlwind trip it was. I stayed with my sister, Susan, this time. I saw the oncologist, ophthalmologist, gastroenterologist, general physician, and audiologist. Everything is fine. A colonoscopy found 3 polyps that were removed. I got to visit with Miranda and her family and even took them out to dinner one night. I played rummy cube with Susan and Bill almost every night and took them out to dinner the last night I was there. There was a delay in my flight out of Denver because of thunder storms. I finally got back home at midnight. It was a very long day. LaGuardia Airport is fantastic! The construction and renovations have left the airport looking very futuristic and sleek. It is also very large. I had over 5,000 steps before I ever got on my plane in New York.
Paul worked on the RV and truck while I was gone. He bought new tires for the RV, had the tires on the truck rotated, and had a tune-up completed on the truck. He also worked on getting the slides shored up.
Our forwarded mail arrived. Unfortunately, a package we ordered did not arrive. UPS transferred it to USPS and the base does not accept postal deliveries. This mail thing can be so annoying. We did get the package forwarded from the Iowa fairground.
We did the laundry today, then went into town for lunch. We ate at Famous Dave’s. I had ribs and Paul got fried chicken. It is good to be back together again.
20 May 2023 (Sun) – We waited to hear from the post office this morning. We are having another “fun” experience with having our mail forwarded to us. I sent a message to Escapees asking to our mail sent on Monday, May 15. Then I sent a second message asking that they send it on May 16 by 2-day UPS or FedEx. I got an email acknowledging the change and saying it would be done. On Tuesday, May 16, I got a note saying the mail had been send out by postal service. That usually means at least a week for it to arrive. I sent an email saying that it was supposed to be sent UPS or FedEx and asking them to intercept the package. They said they couldn’t but would pay for the return postage. I got an update from USPS saying the package would arrive on Saturday, May 20. That was the day we were leaving. Arrrrggh!
So I went to the Fair office to ask them to forward the package when it comes and they said they are closed on the weekends. So we drove into town to the local post office. I explained the situation and asked if they could stop the delivery and have us pick up the package on Saturday morning. The clerk got on the computer to check the status of the package. She found it was held for two days in North Houston, then sidetracked to Kansas. It would not arrive on Saturday; maybe Monday. I gave them our forwarding address at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
We packed up and left Twin Falls, ID, at 10:15 a.m. The drive was long. We didn’t arrive until 2:30 p.m. The scenery passing by was so beautiful – tall mountains, verdant valleys, open grassland as far as the eye could see. It made the drive very enjoyable.
When we arrived at Hill AFB, we were met by the camp host. She gave us the campground map with rules and regulations and said the office would be open tomorrow. We have a pull-through site with concrete pad and FHU. Paul thinks the row we are in was added to the original FamCamp. There are three rows of campsites. The first two rows are back-to-back sites. The third row is pull-through. A row of trees separates the first two rows from the third row. A very big mountain range with snow caps towers over the town. It is stunning.
Around 5:30 p.m. the power went out. Someone said they thought a transformer blew. We went into town for dinner. Paul picked up some gas for the generator. We got back, he pulled out the generators, got they primed and fueled, turned them on, and the camp host came by to say the power was back on. At least we know the generators work.
Upon reviewing the rules and regulations for the campground, we found that the base does not accept postal mail (like some other military facilities we have been at). I called the Filer, ID post office and left a message explaining the situation and asking them to have the local post office hold the package for us. Send it as a general delivery. We will see what happens.
And to boot, we thought Paul’s replacement credit card was coming in the package. I got a note from Escapees showing the credit card came in yesterday. So we have to get yet another delivery.
I leave for New York tomorrow. I will be gone for a week, returning on Monday, May 29.

"Barry, you need to go back. You need to make sure she's okay. We have no idea if she's stable and what she's capable of. You need to be careful though, if both of your dark matter counteracted, it could be harmful to you and possibly her." Barry nodded in agreement then raced off into the night back to the lab where they left their friend. With a feeling of mixed emotions, Caitlin spun on her heel to face her friend. "Seriously, Cisco?"
His brown eyes glanced up at her and she felt a twinge of guilt in her stomach when she saw his own guilt shimmering through his eyes. "What?" he snapped.
"That's why you've been so mean to her? For a mistake you both made? Do you have any idea how you've been making her feel, Cisco? I get that you feel bad about hurting Gypsy and doing something like that so quickly but it wasn't just her. It was you too. You have no idea if we just lost our friend, our teammate."
"I understand, Caitlin."
"I don't think you do, Cisco. We have no idea what went wrong and what happened to her. She's obviously unstable right now." taking a seat on a bench where it's a bus stop, she had an idea form in her mind. "We need to find Y/N's mother. She knows more than any of us."
Team’s perspective
3 days later
“Did you guys find anything?” Barry flashed into the Cortex in his suit, taking off his mask to reveal his face to his friends. The disappointing expression on everyone’s face was enough to give him his answer. “Really? Nothing at all?”
“There haven't been any traces of dark matter anywhere and nothing in the facial recognition. She knows where everything is, Barry, along with knowing what we are doing.” Caitlin declared, sympathy seeping from her words and she was beginning to sound hopeless. “It’s going to be hard to find her when she knows everything.”
“Nobody ever explained to me what happened,” Joe piped up from the wall he was leaning on with Cecile next to him with a frown plastered on her face.
Barry sighed glancing at the floor, “Cisco and her had-”
“Barry tried to share his powers with her and it triggered the dark matter that was coursing through her,” Caitlin gave Cisco a knowing look and he continued, “We had sex last month and I was-actually I’ve been a complete douchebag to her because I was still hurting a little bit over the break up and I felt guilty for sleeping with Y/N so I took everything out on her.”
Not everyone knew the truth about why he was so angry with Y/N so when it was spoken of, shock rippled through all of them at once but a tiny bit of anger was thrown in the mix with Cecile and Iris. Cisco kept his eyes glued to the floor finding it more fascinating than the judgmental stares coming from the team he looks up to as family. He was tearing himself up inside about how the whole situation came about and how he treated his best friend with so much hatred when it was a two person thing. Not only did he lose Cynthia, but it looks like he lost his best friend and he was the only one to blame for that area.
“As much as I’d love to give you a really big lecture, Cisco, we need to find Y/N before it’s too late. DeVoe still wants her and with her out there alone, it’ll be easier to take her.” Iris claimed, taking a step forward to wrap an arm around Barry, a glare set in stone for Cisco who gladly accepted the feelings towards him. He deserved it. "Have you found her mom, Caitlin?"
"No, I haven't. I even looked through Y/N's phone and she doesn't have a number for her or her dad. She had no text message or phone call in this phone's history that pointed to her parents direction. Her father isn't in the system either. I found her birth certificate and that name for her dad is nowhere. So either he doesn't exist or-"
"Her real father doesn't know he has a daughter and her mom put something else down." Barry finished her sentence. "Let's continue trying to find her mom. Did it say in her profile where she last was?"
"In Denver, Colorado at a rehab facility. But that was 2 years ago. She hasn't checked in anywhere that we know of. She could've changed her identity. There's an endless amount of possibilities of what happened to her. All we know is that's the last place anyone ever saw her."
"Okay, then, we go there. It's a little over an hour drive."
"I'm in," Iris states and Joe, Cisco, and Barry nod to show where they stood too.
Caitlin gave a small, gentle smile but in her gut, she felt something turn and it didn't feel good. This visit can give them all the answers but will the answers be worth it if they're bad?
~
"This is it. This is the last place anyone saw Y/N's mother." said Caitlin.
"Think she's still here? Just hiding under a different name? She did say something was coming so it would make sense for her to get another identity." Barry questioned, taking a step forward to examine the place some more.
Cisco shrugged, "Who knows. I mean it wouldn't make sense for her to stay here for this long. She could've been talking about the particle accelerator too when she told Y/N about something bad coming."
The team started walking into the place one by one with Barry the last one. His eyes danced around him catching a small glimpse of y/c/h but shook it off thinking his mind was playing tricks on him and continued his way inside. Y/N couldn't be here of all places, she told them she didn't want to see her mother again but on the other hand, she wasn't stable and she doesn't have any other family members. Barry knew Y/N couldn’t possibly be here especially if she really knew the team, they’d eventually come to see her mother.
The secretary peeked up from behind the big glasses that sat on the bridge of her nose and grinned, “How can I help you?”
“Uh, hi, we’re here to see Y/M/N Y/M/L/N.” Caitlin revealed with a small smile of her own. Immediately the secretary’s entire body language changed and the sweet smile she once had dropped from her face. She knew something.
“I-uh I’m sorry but she isn’t here anymore. She was released last week.”
The team was baffled, only last week? It was most likely why they couldn’t find anything on her, she was still here at the facility and has had barely any time to get on her feet. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am very sure. That lady could not be forgotten. Kept going on and on about how people have powers and what not, that her whole family has powers at that. She’s an adult who lives in fantasy land, we only released her because she requested to be let go. The doctor she was assigned to signed the discharge papers within those hours. Everyone was ready to let her go.”
It wasn’t shocking to say the least that a woman who struggled with drug abuse and was put on more drugs would not have sensored herself. They knew what kind of medications she was on, some very strong and were antipsychotics continuously being upped through the dosages. This woman needed the help to get off these drugs and was constantly being put in rehab by her own flesh and blood only to get put on prescriptions that could’ve easily altered her mind.
Caitlin nodded to show she was listening and Iris was the next one to speak letting the secretary’s eyes fall on her, “Do you know where we can find her?”
“I’m not legally allowed to give out that information.”
“We know that you don’t allow patients out of the facility without having a place to go. We really need this information. We’re trying to find her daughter and we think that she might’ve gone to see her.” Cisco announced from behind Iris.
“Look, I’m not allowed to give out information but,” the woman grasped onto her glasses taking them off of her face to appear more intimidating. “if you are telling the truth about her daughter, I may be able to help.”
“We are telling the truth.” Barry spoke.
Nodding, the secretary put her glasses back on to the bridge of her nose and turned to type away on the computer in front of her. The team heard the printer go off and looking around to make sure no one was watching, she got up from her desk chair to retrieve the paper. It was a copy of the discharge papers, front and back. “You didn’t get that from me. Are we clear?”
Everyone nodded and spun on their heel to head out but Barry stopped causing everyone else to as well. “Barry?”
“Thi-this isn’t right,” he stuttered.
Iris furrowed her eyebrows, taking a closer step to her man. “What do you mean, Bar?”
“This says Y/N’s address.”
“Damn it,” Cisco cursed under his breath at the news. “That means Y/N probably has her and we can’t get anything from her if the person we’re trying to ask about has her.”
“I’ll speed around the city, try to see if I can find her in any public places.” the team stepped outside trying to find a good place to hide Barry’s secret and to let him do what he needs to do in order to find the mother of their friend.
“Check alleyways. She may have just gotten out of rehab but she could be shooting up already meaning she’s also off her meds.” Cisco said.
Caitlin nodded, “If she’s off her meds, she could be out of this world to put it nicely.”
With that knowledge, Barry sped off leaving the team to stay put where they were. Despite not knowing the city very well he sure could find everything pretty easily. The public places didn’t hold the woman he was looking for so he sped off to look in alley’s. One alley, two alley’s, three, four, five alleys and he caught a glimpse of a person in a black zip up hoodie and a woman not any taller than 5′5 at least. This woman fit the description of their friend’s mother and the saddest part of it was Cisco was right, she was using again.
“Y/M/N?” he called out. The man in the black zip up hoodie barely even glanced up before taking off down the alleyway leaving the woman to fend for herself. It was her. Y/N looked almost identical to her mother taking every feature she could inherit from her but the difference was the holes that stopped healing on her arms from the heroine and the bags under her eyes. She looked older than she really was and much more scrawny than the picture they found a few days previously or more the mugshot. Grey hair was starting to come from her roots and wrinkles were forming around her facial features.
“H-how do you know who I am?” she was understandably terrified of the sight before her, she didn’t know who he was. “Who are you?”
“My name is Barry Allen. I need your help.”
“Why would I help you? I don’t even know you.” she fires back. So Y/N also got the sass from her mother, that was good to know.
“It’s about your daughter, Y/N.”
Her body language changed almost as quickly as the secretary’s did when the team and himself talked to her but this change was more positive, it looked almost relaxing to see her transform like that. Her shoulders dropped from the defensive state they were in and her eyes had hope shimmering in them.
“Y/N? My baby?” she covered her mouth attempting to hold back the tears.
He nodded, “Yes, ma’am. Could you help my friends and I please?”
“I want to know what I’m helping with first.”
“We don’t know what happened but your daughter unleashed her powers and she’s missing. She almost blew up an entire building, ma’am.”
She gasped loudly, “She got her powers? Oh, no, no, no,”
“Are you alright?”
“What was she doing? What were her powers like?”
Barry furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at the question but answered it nonetheless, “It was like lightning,”
“Oh no, what have you guys done?”
“Ma’am, I don’t think I understand what you mean.” said Barry.
“Those powers weren’t supposed to come out. They weren’t allowed to, I had them sealed shut. Take me to your team now. I know exactly who you are, Flash.”
He didn’t have much time to say anything before she was throwing herself at him telling him to speed to his team. There were many questions, some now involving how she knew him but ran to where his team awaited for his arrival only to find something he didn’t want to see.
His whole team was on the ground, blood dripping from each of their noses and knocked out cold. Something happened.
“Y/N,” was all he could get before he felt a bolt of electricity slither through him causing him to yell out in pain and fall to the floor not able to bare his own weight any longer. The darkness was calling for him and he desperately tried to stay awake to see who the culprit was, to see if he was right and to make sure his friends mother was alright. His eyes were trying to flutter close, to succumb to the darkness as the pain was so intense it hadn’t felt like anything he’s ever felt before even though he’s been through his fair share of fights. This was a trap, Y/N knew they were here and wanted her mother. How could they not have known?
“Go to sleep, Flash,” Y/N came into his view, squatting down in front of him. “Otherwise, I’m going to have to take you out completely and I’d rather not do that in front of my mother.”
Despite everything in him begging him to stay alive, he couldn’t fight anymore and fell into the darkness.

( alex fitzalan, twenty-four, cis man, he/him ) HUGO AUGUSTIN! we’re so happy you’re here. you’ve been her for TEN YEARS, working as a STRUGGLING ARTIST, right? yeah, everyone’s already told us all about you. they said your very INTROVERTED, ARTICULATE, and HOT-HEADED. which we think is just awesome. of course they told us that you remind them of LOUD MUSIC IN A SMALL APARTMENT, COFFEE ADDICTION, & AN OLD GUITAR CASE ON THE SIDEWALK and RUNAWAY by AURORA. so we feel like we already know you so well. we can’t wait to get to know you better. ( autumn, est, 24, she/her )
hugo was born in paris, france. his father was a business man, and his mother was a socielite. he grew up in the upper class. he went to a private boarding school for the majority of his time in paris. he was there for the majoriy of his time, so when he was fourteen and his mother and father informed him they were moving to america. his father was offered a job and was getting a work visa. they were going to move within a few weeks.
being at a boarding school did put a wedge between hugo and his parents. he wasn't around them very much, and now that he was going to be around them constantly, he felt he had to get to know them again.
when they moved to america, they moved to denver. everything seemed perfect at first, but slowly hugo was shown who his parents truly were. or more like who his father truly was.
by the time he had started school in the area, his father had picked up drinking ( a habit he had in france, but not something that hugo ever really got to see.) and thats when the fights started.
at first it was small, but as time went on the fighting got louder. three months after they got there, hugo heard the sound of his father hutting his mother. it shook him to his core, and as a fourteen year old boy, he had no idea how to handle the situation.
at first he thought maybe he had heard wrong, but then he heard his mother's tears and her face the very next morning. she lied of course, not knowing that hugo knew the truth.
from there, it all spiraled down hill. when he was sixteen, hugo finally stood up to his father. they got into a physical altercation, and his mother, in fear of what his father might due, took his father's side.
that was the first time, hugo was ever put into juvie. he was only there for a few days, but it was enough for him to know what type of family he was born into. from that day on, hugo was running away constantly, getting into more fights at school, doing drugs, drinking, and just about everything he possibly could so that he didn't have to go home.
when he was seventeen, his father forced him into rehab. of course, hugo couldn't help but find the irony in the situation, but while he hates the man's guys, rehab was where he found his love for art.
it calmed him down, and even took his mind off of the situation he was in. once out, he graduated high school and went to college for a degree in graphic design. once he moved out of his parents house, hugo cut them off.
he didn't want anything from them, nor hear from them. while he gets small jobs here and there, hugo is struggling to put his name out there.
he also goes by hue, because he got the name hugo from his father, and it makes him very angry when someone calls him by that name.

Numbers 26:52-28:15, Luke 3:1-22, Psalms 61:1-8, Proverbs 11:16-17
Today is the 18th day of March welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it's wonderful to be here with you today as we do what we do, which is take steps forward. Kind of hard…I don’t even know how we would take a step backward and read the Bible in reverse or something but we’re here to take steps forward. The only way is forward. So, let's dive in. We’re reading from the God's Word translation this week and we’re in the book of Numbers chapter 26 verse 52 through 28 verse 15 today.
Commentary:
Okay. In the book of Numbers today we have begun a transition and it’s gonna take us a while to get through this transition. But it's a major major transition, a transition of leadership, a passing of the torch as it were from Moses, who we've been traveling with so long…like a long time now - many many miles together with Moses, many trials and many of…of God's miraculous deeds and provision for His people. So, that transition is…is beginning. It will take us a minute to get there because we’ll conclude the book of Numbers less than a week from now but then we will enter the final book of the Torah, the book of Deuteronomy. And, so, we won't be leaving Moses. Deuteronomy really is the last speeches or discourses of Moses to the people, to the people that he's been leading before he dies. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We’ll talk about that when we get there. But there is a transition beginning here now, where God is instructing Moses that he will leave…leave the scene basically, leave the stage, die, join his ancestors and then we will continue to move on without Moses. Joshua is being commissioned to take the place of Moses in the future when Moses is gone. Ironically, Joshua or Yehoshua, or Yeshua in Hebrew might sound familiar because it's the same name as Jesus and this name means God's salvation. And, so, we see connecting threads and ironically they’re very…they're very connected in our reading today because when we turn to the book of Luke we are at the very inauguration or consecration of…of Jesus who is at the Jordan River being baptized by John and he comes up out of the water and the Spirit comes down on him and says, “you are my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.” The irony is that Joshua is being commissioned to lead the people forward. Jesus is God's son, leading the people forward and we have shared names with shared meanings with redemptive threads with stories of redemption kind of tying a thread between the two today. And we’ll be able to watch both of those stories unfold before us in great detail as we continue our journey forward.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for all these connecting points that connect over centuries in the Scriptures of an ongoing redemptive thread that winds its way into our lives as well as we carry the story forward. And, so, come Holy Spirit into all that we've read today. Plant it into the soil of our lives. We continue to open ourselves to You fully inviting You to rearrange our lives, shape us, conform us to Your image we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com, that's home base, it’s where the Global Campfire is burning, it’s where we all come together in this virtual community. And, so, be familiar with that.
Check out the…the Community section. Of course, on the web or in the app you can do these things. So, on the web there's like, you know, a navigation up at the top and you’d be looking for the Community section. If you’re in the app you would just push the Drawer icon in the upper left-hand corner and look for the Community section. But this is where the different links to get connected on social media are. This is also where the Prayer Wall lives. And, so, we are a community of prayer and we have done a really, really beautiful job of praying for each other over these years through…I mean…we have brought each other through some really, really difficult things over these years. And God has honored that and been in it with us. And, so, Prayer Wall is always on. You never have to be without. You got stuff going on, you can poste it on the Prayer Wall and brothers and sisters will pray.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at dailyaudiobible.com as well. There is a link on the homepage. If you are using the app you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner, or the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart or the top of my heart, from a full heart, from a heart that’s in awe that this is even happening. I’m grateful that we’re in this together. Thank you for your partnership.
And, as always, if you have prayer request or encouragement, you can hit the Hotline button in the app or you can dial 877-942-4253.
And that's it for today. I’m Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
DAB family Kathleen Mount Zion IL I am calling today…I tried calling earlier on my way to work and for some reason I just kept redoing and redoing these recordings. So, I finally just stopped and said I will just wait till after work. But I just wanted to pray. I…I read something about Nigeria again and Nigeria’s always been dear to my heart. I have called in the past. It's been a couple of years at least calling for Nigeria and every once in a while, I call in about that. But I'm just asking you to pray with me right now because there was another recent kidnapping of Christian children right out of their school. They've done this before. The last time the girls came back many of them had children they had been forced into marriage with Islamic extremists. And, you know, I just…it's just awful. Anyway, just pray with me. Lord Jesus I pray for Nigeria. I pray for this country Lord. There are many many Christians in Nigeria. Lord you are the King of all, you are the one’s…with you we can walk on water we can move mountains and I pray that the people of Nigeria the Christians of Nigeria will bind together, they were bind together and they will force Boca Ram out of their country and they will first however retrieve what has been lost, their lost children, lost young Christians. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Hi this is Gloria calling from Florida. This call is for Tammy from the Adirondacks. She is in remission from ovarian cancer. I don't know what you're going through, but I want you to take comfort in a God who loves you. He has healed your cancer and He can also heal your heart and your mind in what you're going through right now. Jesus came to bind the broken hearted. Take heart that He has overcome. I pray that you would wear the full armor of God, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith and yield the sword of the Spirit of the word and pray. I pray that you reach out to those that are close with you, that you share your burdens with them so they can help you carry this burden. I’m so glad that you called so that we could pray for you. In Jesus’ name. Amen. We love you.
Hey DABbers, this is Keira from Denver I am so grateful to God for everything He’s done for me. And y’all I would like continued prayer for my son, Nish. Tonight…today was the second day this week that I had to call the police because…because I had concern for my own safety in regards to my son. The earlier one last Tuesday they took him to the hospital and they…he went to the psych unit but then he got released the next day. Tonight, they took him to the hospital again and this time they took him to this city detox place. And I know this place is not that great. It’s not a rehab and it’s not a lockup. He can leave anytime. But I pray that he stays till…until tomorrow and I pray…I pray and I would like for you…you guys to stand in prayer with me that he…everyone he comes in contact with…with is Spirit filled and Christ filled and can give him guidance. And I pray that maybe this is…this is the moment, this is the moment that Nish makes a decision to change and that he can actually go into a rehab and get the help he needs. And he’s had these issues of psychosis ever since 2012 but he’s continued using drugs this whole time. So, it’s just a compounding of problems. And please pray, please pray everybody with me. Thank you. I love you DAB…
Good morning friends and family this is Justified Smile I am a new listener from late last year and this is my first time calling. It is the morning of March 16th and I just heard C’s prayer request about her postpartum depression and her feelings of worthlessness. And also, just last night dear friend and sister of mine that I’ll call M texted me last night about suicidal thoughts asking for prayer. I’ve seen in the past year that a spirit of death haunts this world. So, I ask you all to join me in prayer. Jesus, teach us to pray. Lord You are King, comforter and shepherd. You are goodness and life. And in Your name, we repel death from the hearts and mind of C and M and all Your children who it attacks along with its every backup replacement and contingency. Let Your life and joy rule in the lives of Your children. Protect those who pray for retaliation and comfort, those who have been hounded and antagonized. Keep us good Shepherd. All this for Your glory oh God my sovereign King.
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask for some prayer today. Been listening for a while and this is…Daily Audio Bible’s really been an encouragement to me. Last year I had a…a pulmonary embolism and it’s kind of been…otherwise been really healthy but it’s kind of since last year seem to have gone downhill. So, I had this embolism and then about…about a month ago I started getting these really bad migraines and…and some double vision. Went to the doctor and he told me to get an MRI. It came back with a…a…a…s brain tumor that’s 3.4 cm. It’s called an acoustic neuroma that kind of grows in my ear next to my brain but it’s pushing against my brainstem. And, you know it…it…it…it…it would be pretty dangerous. They’re gonna have to take it out in the next couple weeks. So, I am praying for obviously as a successful surgery but I’m also praying…there’s…there’s two risks. They…they have already told me I’ll probably lose my hearing in my right ear but also the…the risk that…that…that is possible is kind of almost permanent, is Bell’s palsy because it’s right there on the facial nerve as well. So, just praying for that, praying for my family. I can’t drive right now because…because my double vision and so my wife’s having to take me around everywhere and we have three small boys. So, I really…I pray…I pray for the prayers. I have lot’s of people praying for me but if, you know, more…more people going to the Lord on my behalf would be amazing. The only last thing I pray well…

hes the second youngest of the carlton family (lucas being the oldest, jennifer being the second oldest, and kylee being the youngest) (rys only older than kylee by about 5 minutes tho)
hes from a very tiny town in colorado called creekwood (its an entirely fictional town, hehe)
he has asthma
he was diagnosed with lung cancer when he was about 5 years old, but was found to be in remission by the time he was about 7!
he was a really shy, nervous kid growing up n was bullied a lot because of it
his father was very abusive towards him growing up, n it took ry a Long time for him to feel like he was healed from it
he started getting into drugs when he was ~14
most kids in creekwood did the same bc theres fuckn Nothing to do there But drugs
ry rly struggled with sobriety for most of his 20s, but he finally went to rehab in his late 20s n managed to Stay sober!
he moved out to the “big city” (aka denver) for college n met n started dating this guy, hunter, who turned out to be... very abusive
he left him when he was ~22 n moved out to new york to stay with his sister, kylee!
a couple years later, he met his partner, shaun diaz :)
their relationship was very tumultuous n filled with lots of up n downs that would take me a while to explain! i am planning on writing a book/maybe a short series of books about them someday in the future, we’ll see, hehe
a little while after him n shaun got married, he finally got Officially diagnosed with depression and got onto medications that did a World of help for him
him n shaun eventually had two kids! first, their son, evan, n then three years later, they had their daughter, raleigh!
their son was diagnosed with autism fairly young, n because him n shaun noticed a Lot of similarities between ev and ry himself, they got ry in to be tested too, n what do you know! he got diagnosed with autism too!
aaaand thats about all i can think of right now :) theres the gist of ry :)
