I'm planning on giving my commission info a renovation soon -- more or less the same prices but updated, better quality examples and probably more variety.
I also want to post more art in general! I'm trying but I'm wearing myself out scraping together enough to buy basic groceries (I'm living on roughly 3-4 frozen pizzas a week), and the art I do draw is mostly not very postable stuff like boring chararcter portraits.😅
Health ramble-rant incoming:
I have a premolar tooth on each side with pretty bad cavities: #1 upper right side cracked and has a hole, #2 upper left side is dead, almost completely broken away, and loose in the socket with the root exposed (it's been broken for a year but has only just started getting loose this month). Left side needs to come out before it falls out on its own or gets infected, so I'm chewing VERY CAREFULLY on the right side even though it sets off the sensitivity of the cavity there.
The dead tooth now rocks inwards about 30 degrees if I bump it, and it's getting caught on, and being bumped by, the opposing lower teeth if I move my jaw too much.
Only one of my wisdom teeth has erupted correctly and the other three are impacted (both lower ones are partially out but at 90 degree angles), which is not an immediate problem aside from my previously perfect tooth alignment slowly getting messed up, but because I have to avoid my premolars I am now chewing on the gums where the wisdom teeth should erupt, so now am slowly tearing up those gums and potentially risking creating more infection weakspots.
The gums on both lower molars are torn to hell now, but both cavities are on the upper jaw -- upper jaw tooth infections can spread to the maxillary bone, and then the heart and brain, within a week. Some tooth infections and abscesses can eat the maxillary/jaw bone away without any obvious symptoms.
If I'd gone to a dentist at the start of the year they probably would've given me a root canal on left cavity but now the entire thing has to come out because there's not enough tooth left to anchor a crown.
It's like $600-$1500 of dental work, some of which is emergency 🙃
#olessan oration#/ I just had to get the rant out I am stuck because I can't do anything and have not been able to save a single dollar all year#else it would've been long fixed#I can POSSIBLY apply for a public dental service voucher which makes some treatments free#or maybe try for a payment plan if a family member helps me with the deposit or something#I'm so tired

Hey yall!
it's been one of those weeks. a very, very expensive week. my savings will be completely wiped, but I can't open commissions, so it's not looking too hot for me right now. I'm not in any danger of eviction or other major consequences, but I can't front the costs by myself.
If you'd like to help out by chipping in a little bit, I've got the tl;dr over here! https://ko-fi.com/endivinity There's a pack of every public deathclaw artwork available through that as well, if you'd like a bonus incentive.
Long version and plan of attack under the cut!
I've been medically unemployed for a couple of years now. I've also been recently diagnosed with ADHD - inattentive. I was given an initial trial course of meds for them, which so far aren't working in any helpful ways. NZ has free prescriptions... but it does not have free mental health diagnoses, and especially not for adults. The initial diagnosis appointments cost me $1100, and there are at-cost followup appointments and other medical related costs that are chipping away at it. My medication will need reviewing and possibly switching, which requires more at-cost appointments. This was fine for me to pay! But. Miraculously, I barely self-medicated prior to diagnosis but when I did.... it was with sugary foods. I'm sure you can see where this ends up :'D
The other day I got hit with a dental bill that was not only staggering, but the treatment itself was a gutpunch. I'm not quite at root canal level but two of my teeth are tending towards it, even as the dentist commended my brushing and flossing. The quote is between $3200-4000 (give or take a couple non-priority preventative treatments). I can get government funding assistance up to $1000, and anything beyond that is a loan.
And unrelated I NEED new glasses, because the vision in my left eye from uveitis has deteriorated significantly. this costs less at i think $200-300, but the government does NOT assist with this for... some reason??
The plan of attack:
I'd - hoped, that the meds would let me focus more on owed work. I'd hoped I'd be able to clear the board. That's not the case right now. I'll keep trying, but for now I have to focus on the present.
So, the Ko-fi page is open! There's PWYW files of every deathclaw art I have, so if you'd like to help me out and get convenient lizards instead of browsing my posts, that's the option for you. I will also be making deathclaw designs to auction. I'd like to do customs in future because there's a hungry hungry market out there, waiting for me to do so, but that'd be a commission and I wouldn't complete it. So, premades it will be. My Inprnt store is currently barren; I will see about getting it filled. That'll be linked later. I can't mail out my print stock I use for cons, because I don't have a car or easy access to shipping packaging for larger prints. (And shipping would be immense because, NZ)
So far those are my only attainable options. If you have other suggestions though, please let me know! <3
#nz govt be like: u need a psych to prescribe meds. no gp. also u need a reassessment every 3 years#and then like: [surprised pikachu] whys the adhd assessment waitlist 6-9 months long#i am officially NOT doing well. i reached a limit with the med failure and all this is pushing at it hard. as you can imagine#re: deathclaws no it's not 'technically legal' but neither are those $70 pokemon fusions i see on toyhouse ok. disrespect zenimax#deathclaw

this FIV+ man needs a home!
hello! this very friendly little stray orange boy in Houston TX needs somewhere to live that is not my house! I’m willing to drive within the texas triangle, or meet someone halfway. He has had some basic vetting.
why is he in my bathroom and why can’t he stay here?
He is a known community cat that is the bane of my first cat’s existence, and wanted to be friends So Bad I had to put bird spikes up on my windowsills. My two cats are FIV negative, and I can only hold onto him for two more weeks.
what’s his deal?
He's about two, about ten pounds, and is extremely people social to the point it is genuinely difficult taking pics of him, bc he is convinced both hands should be petting him at all times. You can sling him around with one while he purrs up a storm. I’ve seen him peaceably hanging out with other colony cats outside, so I assume he is cat social with a slow introduction.
He is not thrilled about having his ears touched (he is ear mite free) or having his paws touched, but we are working on desensitization. He is also extremely bad at being restrained for a blood draw at the vet.
what care has he received?
Basic exam
Neuter
Rabies vax
Microchip
Dewormer
Revolution II flea/tick/mite treatment
FeLV/FIV test (negative and a faint positive respectively, he can be retested in six months to see if it was a false positive but should be treated as if he is a positive cat in the meantime)
He’s eating (grain free dry kibble since that’s what my girls are on) and drinking and healing well from his neuter.
He's correctly using the litter box with basic clay litter, he's not spraying in my bathroom or pissing up the sides of the litter box, but he is a very enthusiastic advocate of burying waste as thoroughly as possible.
He will need a dental at some point for some gingivitis, and he will need to get the rest of his vaccinations and have a second round of dewormer (I’ll give it to you) in two weeks.
who else has been contacted?
Over forty local rescues and shelters, who are all at capacity or haven’t responded since I tried to contact them a week ago. I've also been posting on local Facebook FIV+ cat groups.

Hi Dr. Kristophine, do you have any advice on what kind of information doctors need for medical issues that are more nebulous than "my knees hurt"? I've been feeling Weird and Bad in a way that has me concerned, but I'm afraid to make an appointment because I don't know what to say that will get the Weird and Bad feeling across in an actionable way. Going to the doctor takes SO much energy that I don't have to waste and I don't want them to just take a blood test and say everything's fine go home (again).
The best thing you can do with medical information you're trying to prepare for your medical provider, as a lay person, is be as specific as possible.
-Location: Is it one place in particular, or everywhere? Does it stay in one place, or move around?
-Timing: When did it start? Did it come on suddenly or slowly? Does it happen continuously? Does it come and go? Is it always there to some extent, but it gets better and worse? On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being fine and 10 being the worst you can imagine, how bad is it at its best, and how bad is it at its worst? How much time does it spend really bad vs only kind of bad?
-Quality: If it's pain, is it aching, burning, stabbing, dull, electrical zap, etc.? If it's not pain, what is it? Is it discomfort? Is it weakness--i.e., you can't do that thing? Is it fatigue--like maybe you can still push through doing the thing but it feels like you're trying to wade through mud to do it? Is it a racing heart, sweating, pressure?
-Triggers: Does something in particular set it off? A time of day, a food, an action, a medication, a thought? A surprisingly common trigger for migraines is sitting still with your neck in one position. (New research suggests that necks are critical to migraine formation, to which I yelled out loud at the paper, no duh!) There may be triggers you haven't noticed; try keeping a symptom diary, where you note down when you have episodes and what you were doing beforehand, what you ate that day, menstrual phase, etc. Any detail that you can remember, whether or not it seems relevant at the time.
I cannot tell you how many times I've dug deeper into a chronic issue only to discover that the patient can, in fact, tell me what the trigger is, but because it's something important to them, they simply haven't noticed. May subconsciously even avoided noticing. Do you get migraines every time you DM? Do you need to work a stretch break into your D&D session?
There can also absolutely be multiple triggers--I know I'll get migraines if I don't sleep, if I'm sick, if I sit still for too long, if I have dental work, etc.
So bring in all the info you can. Write it down if you're afraid you'll forget. Don't hand it to the MA, too many doctors will go "oh my GOD they brought a LIST how high-maintenance" and tune out. Hang on to it but tell them about everything.
I don't expect patients to be able to tell me "I believe I've had a left radial styloid fracture" but I do expect them to tell me "I fell and tried to catch myself with my left hand and now my wrist hurts," and that's good enough. The rest of it is my job. When it's something more vague, like "I started feeling different and bad about six months ago," any other information helps. Did you start a new med around then? Are you going through menopause? Do you struggle with anxiety? Do you have first-degree relatives (parent, sibling, or child) with genetic disorders, autoimmune disorders, etc.? Do you have a history of anemia? Are you vegan? Have you started having night sweats and unexplained weight loss? Did you recently travel internationally? This can go a lot more different directions than a hurty wrist, so bring in all the info you can.
And keep in mind that modern medicine is very limited--much more so than most people think. There is an excellent chance that medicine will not be able to diagnose your condition. It may still be able to offer treatment. It may fall on your shoulders to manage it as best you can, knowing that doctors don't have answers. Nobody can tell me why I have chronic pain, and I don't mean as in "I've asked doctors and they don't know," I mean "I've personally scoured the literature and had the relevant and appropriate tests and no one can know at this phase of medical knowledge." So I deal with it, I've stopped trying to push myself past my reserves because people who can't admit to ignorance tell me to, I keep my painful body moving because that helps, I do PT, I take a multivitamin occasionally because I know my diet sucks. I manage.
There are not always right or wrong answers--I don't take gabapentin, because I don't want the sedation and kidney exposure, but patients with my exact symptoms might find it helpful and may find the risks and costs worth the benefits. My mother, who has whatever it is that I have, right down to the tricky stomach, from whom I presumably inherited it, has taken medication at different points in her life, depending on how much pain she was in and what other responsibilities she has, and that is perfectly reasonable. Autonomy matters. People have to be able to make these choices for themselves, with assistance but not paternalism from their medical professionals, because the math is different for everyone.
#the attending dr. kristophine#listen I feel very strongly about autonomy#I am here to help not to dictate from on high

Writing Notes: Bites & Stings
References (Dog Bites; Cat; Human; Spider; Bee & Wasp; Snake; Jellyfish)
Bites and stings - puncture injuries inflicted by an animal that penetrate the skin.
DOGS
A typical dog bite results in a laceration, tear, puncture, or crush injury.
Bites from large, powerful dogs may cause fractures and dangerous internal injuries. Dogs trained to attack may bite repeatedly during a single episode.
Infected bites usually cause pain, cellulitis (inflammation of the connective tissues), and a pus-filled discharge at the wound site within 8–24 hours.
Many infections are confined to the wound site, but some of the microorganisms in the mouths of dogs can cause systemic and possibly life-threatening infections.
Rabies is rare among pet dogs in the United States, most of which have been vaccinated against the disease. Tetanus is also rare but can be transmitted by a dog bite if the victim is not immunized.
CATS
The mouths of cats and dogs contain many of the same microorganisms.
Cat scratches and bites are also capable of transmitting the Bartonella henselae bacterium, which can lead to cat-scratch disease, an unpleasant but usually not life-threatening illness.
Cat bites are mostly found on the arms and hands.
Sharp cat teeth typically leave behind a deep puncture wound that can reach muscles, tendons, and bones, which are vulnerable to infection because of their comparatively poor blood supply.
This is why cat bites are much more likely to become infected than dog bites.
Also, people are less inclined to view cat bites as dangerous and requiring immediate attention; the risk that infection has set in by the time a medical professional is consulted is thus greater.
HUMANS
Humans bites result from fights, sexual activity, medical and dental treatment, and seizures. Bites raise the possibility of spousal or child abuse.
Children often bite other children, but those bites are hardly ever severe.
Human bites are capable of transmitting a wide range of dangerous diseases, including hepatitis B, syphilis, and tuberculosis.
Human bites fall into two categories:
Occlusional (true) bites present a lower risk of infection.
Clenched-fist injuries, which are very infectious and can permanently damage the hand, usually result from a fist hitting teeth during a fight.
People often wait before seeking treatment for a clenched-fist injury, with the result that about half of such injuries are infected by the time they are seen by a medical professional.
SPIDERS
As a rule, people rarely see a black widow bite, nor do they feel the bite as it occurs. The first (and possibly only) evidence that a person has been bitten may be a mild swelling of the injured area and two red puncture marks.
Within a short time, some victims begin to experience severe muscle cramps and rigidity of the abdominal muscles. Other possible symptoms include excessive sweating, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and vertigo, as well as breathing, vision, and speech problems.
A brown spider’s bite can lead to necrotic arachnidism, in which the tissue in an area of up to several inches around the bite becomes necrotic (dies), producing an open sore that can take months or years to disappear.
In most cases, the bite simply produces a hard, painful, itchy, and discolored area that heals without treatment in 2–3 days.
The bite may be accompanied by a fever, chills, edema (an accumulation of excess tissue fluid), nausea and vomiting, dizziness, muscle and joint pain, and a rash.
BEES & WASPS
The familiar symptoms of bee and wasp stings include pain, redness, swelling, and itchiness in the area of the sting.
Multiple stings can have much more severe consequences, such as anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction that occurs in hypersensitive persons.
SNAKES
Venomous pit viper bites usually begin to swell within 10 minutes and sometimes are painful.
Other symptoms include skin blisters and discoloration, weakness, sweating, nausea, faintness, dizziness, bruising, and tender lymph nodes.
Severe poisoning can lead to tingling in the scalp, fingers, and toes; muscle contractions; an elevated heart rate; rapid breathing; large drops in body temperature and blood pressure; vomiting of blood; and coma.
Many pit viper and coral snake bites (20–60%) fail to poison (envenomate) their victim, or introduce only a small amount of venom into the victim’s body.
The wounds, however, can still become infected by the harmful microorganisms that snakes carry in their mouths.
Coral snake bites are painful but may be hard to see.
One to seven hours after the bite, a bitten person begins to experience the effects of the venom, which include tingling at the wound site, weakness, nausea, vomiting, excessive salivation, and irrational behavior.
Major nerves of the body can become paralyzed for 6–14 days, causing double vision, difficulty swallowing and speaking, respiratory failure, and other problems.
Six to eight weeks may be needed before normal muscular strength is regained.
JELLYFISH
Jellyfish venom is delivered by barbs called nematocysts, which are located on the creature’s tentacles and penetrate the skin of people who brush up against them. Instantly, painful and itchy red lesions usually result.
The pain can continue up to 48 hours.
Severe cases may lead to skin necrosis, muscle spasms and cramps, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, excessive sweating, and other symptoms.
In rare instances, cardiorespiratory failure may occur.

∆ please help us
we can not afford any of our basic needs
i usually try to keep this as light as possible, but i have put this off for long enough that i have to post this. me and my partner desperately need help. we are just two gay people trying to make it alone here with absolutely no support system. *remaking because the first post died
who we are: im j (or jet), im 24 year old trans guy whose had this account since 2014. i married my partner in 2018, we even met on tumblr when we were younger, we've been together for years. my partner is disabled (diagnosed with autism and seizure disorder and others)
what we need: basic needs, help with vet care, dental emergency assistance and general support. our cat had an emergency surgery two years ago that means he needs to be on a prescription diet (hills urinary food) for his entire life. the vet suddenly said we need to bring him in again to get his prescription renewed and we cant order any more food for him until then, which he will not survive without, and he is not allowed to eat any alternative food without risking his life. we have less than half of a 8 lb bag of it which will not last him through the next month. with the vet, food, and ubers to get to the vet and to the only place they sell the food = 200
to try to summarize our situation, we were kicked out by family and made officially homeless for the first time last year. this is right after we moved across states (wa to az) to support my partners family upon their request, only to be subjected to abuse and kicked out directly due to homophobia in an unfamiliar state after a few months. this left both of us and all of our animals entirely homeless. we luckily have an apartment now but our situation isnt stable. we lost all of our belongings at this time, everything we had built, and have not been able to replace them as we have very fixed income. my partner is especially affected by this situation, as it was traumatizing, and they have just had to power through trauma after trauma because of poverty, more than i can say.
i also have severe and painful dental problems that are not covered by medicaid in az and i have no way to afford. this includes wisdom teeth, root canals, and many cavities that will turn into that crazy expensive treatment if i don't fix it. some may remember my post about this (+this) showing the work i need. i cant keep ignoring it, because they are worried about two of the cavities becoming root canals, and i want to prevent another infection, but thats at least 250 each i also lost a cap and need to replace it to save the tooth, but that's at least 600.
we are still not going to be able to afford rent in future months because our EBT was delayed last month and i had to spend money we don't have, and without student loan forgiveness, my partner will not have loans anymore so we are in serious jeopardy even affording rent, let alone bills. our pets (2 cats 1 small dog) also desperately need vaccinations, which is dangerous to keep going this overdue without with their health problems. our dog has also been limping for the past week and he needs to be seen when that is ever possible, at least 65 plus ubers.
any donations would go first to the vet appointment and cat food, then the other needs in order of priority. will keep updating this, i know its a lot and i really don't expect anything as i know it's well over 1000 for it all, i am begging for help with any of this.
we are both students, we are trying to work towards stability, while being stuck here. i do everything i can to bring in money to support us on my own. we make 200 less than rent is monthly. i am in school to become a caseworker so i am aware of a lot of resources in my area, and have applied for everything, but we can not do this alone which is why i have to ask for help. i am so sorry for having to do this but i appreciate any support that i do have because of this website. you guys literally save my life. helping out other poor people and getting helped out on here has been the most compassion ive ever been a part of. dollars, even pennies, worth of donations has kept my cat safe, has affected me in real ways. it actually matters to us, no matter the amount.
thank you anyone who reblogs, donates anything at all, or reaches out

(대충 아미들은 머릿속으로 떠오르는 계절감 모르겠는 유닛 라이브 짤)
(Most ARMYs are probably thinking of that clip from the unit live where you couldn’t tell what season it was)*
(T/N: A reference to Jin’s birthday live on December 4, 2018, when he, Jimin, and RM were all wearing such different styles of clothes that fans joked they couldn’t even tell what season it was based on how they were dressed.)
저는 오늘 진 처럼 맨투맨을 입었는데 이더라고요,, 아미들은 진? 지민? RM? 누구처럼 입었나요,,, (아니 이게 주제가 아닌데)
Today I’m wearing a crewneck just like Jin and I think that’s just right,, ARMYs who are you more dressed like? Jin? Jimin? RM?,,, (No wait this isn’t the main topic)
아무튼 방림이가 아미들에게 금요일,,! 곧 다가오는 주말을 위해 조금만 더 힘을 내라고 포스트를 들고 찾아왔읍니다,, (찡긋)

Help a disabled, neurodivergent, interracial family get back to the US for medical treatment
After three bouts of COVID and other medical issues over the past six years here in the Philippines, my health has deteriorated to the point at which I'm worried I won't get to watch my little girl grow up unless I can get back to where I can use my Medicare and VA benefits for various surgeries and treatments.
Unfortunately, even with all y'all's help, @thesurestthing and I are still in debt from the two-year ordeal of fixing our daughter's stateless status, so we can't do this on our own. My little sister started a fundraiser for us, and there are a couple of other ways to help, as well. If you can't help, please reblog. Thank you! (The PayPal link takes the lowest fees, but whatever works for you is best!)
If you want more details, they're under the cut:
Six years ago, while still grieving the deaths of my adult sons and a painful breakup, I moved from the US to the Philippines with just what I could carry, in large part because it's actually possible to survive here on the pittance US disability pays. I had kind of given up on life and figured I would sort of drift off eventually. I wasn't going to kick my own bucket, mind you; I just wasn't going to try very hard to keep living. And I figured I'd just pass away someplace beautiful.
Soon after I got here, though, @thesurestthing (also American) started messaging me from the states, told me she was going to come to the Philippines and be my girlfriend (even though I told her no at first), and eventually joined me here. We had a baby under lockdown, and got married.
So now I had something to live for. (And most of y'all know the drama with the error on El's birth certificate that left her stateless and took almost two years and a lot of money to get fixed.)
But I have had health scare after health scare over the past few years, including three bouts of COVID (some of you remember the month I spent hooked up to an oxygen machine), two bouts of pneumonia, a persistent two-year foot infection that took surgery to clear up (and is going to require another surgery to keep cleared up), damage to my heart and scarring in my lungs from long covid, a literal hole in my throat that is growing bigger, a spine injury, joint injuries, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, a traumatic brain injury that affects my memory and concentration, adhd, bipolar disorder, autism, and other issues.
(Not even getting into the dental stuff--Hope to be able to get that done before we go back, here where it's cheaper, because Medicare doesn't cover that.)
I'm terrified that I won't be alive to watch my little girl grow up unless I can get someplace where I can use my Medicare and VA health benefits.
An old friend of mine is a social worker and on the school board in a small Minnesota city with its own VA clinic, and has offered to help us get settled in there, but we still have to find a place to live (suitable for a couple that includes a physically disabled adult, and who have a toddler), some basic household goods, some cheap used transportation, and need to survive for a couple of months while Zoey looks for work.
Given our situation in general and the fact that right now my disability is our only income, we're probably looking at having to pay at least six months (or possibly an entire year) of rent up front in order to get anyplace to lease to us.
We can't stay with friends because every single stateside friend we have with a spare room also has a cat--and I have an anaphylactic allergic reaction to cats, meaning that I will literally die if I'm around a cat for too long. I've had to go to the ER because I slept in a room that had a blanket in the corner that a cat had momentarily lain on. The only way I can be around cats is if I'm on massive doses of immunosuppressive drugs, which, well... The whole issue here is that I keep getting deathly ill, so suppressing my immune system even more is a non-starter. Oh, and Fel D 1, the protein secreted in cat dander, saliva, and waste, can stay even on hard surface for up to two years, and even longer on porous surfaces.
Again, if we weren't still in so much debt from El's birth certificate debacle, we might be able to do this at least mostly on our own. But as things stand, we can't do it on our own. We need your help.
If you read all of this, thank you very much. And again, if you can't give, please reblog.

Veterinary medicine is reliant on universal human healthcare.
If humans are paying out of their own pocket for their healthcare, there's less funds available for their pets.
It's a trend we see often during recessions or cost of living pressures, like people giving their pets up for adoption or trying to stretch out elective procedures or checkups as long as possible while things are tight. It's just one of the things we do to try and ease the financial pressures.
With shifts, particularly in Australia, of reduced bulk billing for GP visits and Medicare struggling to cover most procedures this trend is becoming apparent.
We don't have Medicare for pets. Everything is out of pocket unless you have insurance.
If there's less money due to cost of living pressures and rising healthcare costs sadly pets are one of the things we stop spending money on. And if we do, we might be forced to choose high interest loans that can lead to further pressures.
Universal healthcare is a human right. We deserve to have our health issues covered by the taxes we pay.
But it's also essential for animal health and welfare. If society doesn't have to spend its money on their own health, there's funds available to ensure pets get vital veterinary care including check-ups, dental care and diagnostic procedures. We can act early with less invasive treatment and better chances of success.
Veterinarians struggle to practice preventative medicine and are forced into reactive medicine when human healthcare isn't universal.
#probably articulated this poorly but well#its not a jab at people not paying for their pets healthcare#its understandable in a cost of living crisis#but its a pattern ive been noticing recently and thought it was interesting to explore#vetblr#vetmed#veterinary

Things you should know before having SEX
There is absolutely nothing rude or accusatory about asking a new partner about their STD history
Use both a barrier method (male or female condom) AND a hormonal method for the best bet at preventing pregnancy
When you’re considering stopping using condoms with a partner, you can ask them if you can go together to get tested first
Don’t have sex with anyone who would hesitate to slow down or stop if you want to or who would be angry or upset with you because of it
Get tested regularly, every 1–3 months
You can go on PrEP if you feel you are truly at risk of getting HIV
Look at your partner and make sure they do not have cold sores, if they do, don’t kiss/do oral with them!
Always meet in public first
Have boundaries and don’t be afraid of kicking someone out/leaving
It’s easier and cheaper to change condoms than diapers.
If you're planning on having a lot of casual sex, you must accept that you will be exposed to STIs.
There is no such thing as safe sex - just risk reduced.
Pinch the reservoir tip of a condom as you slide it down the penis to make sure there is enough space for the semen to collect
Oral/vaginal/anal sex all have STD risks.
Do NOT use oil-based lubricants with a condom
Abstinence-only is a terrible idea, and statistics show it: STD rates and teen pregnancy rates are higher in areas with abstinence-only sex education programs.
Some people enjoy a little acting or role-playing during sex so it helps to have a pronounced safe word that nobody will say by accident.
Don't dominate on the first physical meeting.
Don't introduce new, undiscussed elements into a scene in the heat of the moment.
Dental dams for oral sex, surgical gloves with LOTS of lubes for fingering, trim your nails, and wash your hands.
Vagina penetration isn't going to be as easy, like they show in porn
it's essential to clean off the semen before putting on another condom.
Buy plenty of condoms
Pee after sex as it is important to prevent UTI.
Throw out everything you see in porn, it's unrealistic and most of the positions are not possible or enjoyable as they look on camera.
Have plenty of foreplay before penetration
When you get on the pill, ask your doc how long that pill takes to be effective.
Cum will drip out of you, and you will look silly waddling to the bathroom to go pee and clean up
If you take any kind of antibiotics, it will render your birth control pills ineffective for the rest of that month.
Never be ashamed to have cleanup supplies near your bed.
Doing kegel squeezes in the restroom really helps push most if not all the cum out.
Two people with a vulva can give each other STIs.
Let someone know where you are and when you'd be back.
Your hookup doesn't have to be for penetrative sex
Don't drink anything you're handed that you don't see poured and doesn't leave your sight.
Oral sex is very risky for things like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis (especially syphilis and pharyngeal gonorrhea).
Asking for Snapchat always does a good job of weeding out the fakes.
Always bring your own condoms and lube
Always let the person know that you’ll only have sex with condoms before meeting up
Obtain pepper spray just in case you’re put in a dangerous situation.
Clean your toys appropriately, and make sure it's body-safe material (if it starts to smell even after cleanings, throw it away).
Be sure to use the correct kind of lube
For any kind of sex, there generally shouldn't be pain. If there's pain, something is probably wrong.
If you brush your teeth before doing oral, wait till the minty flavor is gone before going down on them
Your pubic hair is normal and healthy. Trimming is fine, shaving I recommend a lot less.
Sex is a marathon, not a sprint
Not liking sex is okay.
HIV is no longer a death sentence. With proper treatment, your viral load can be so low that transition is impossible. You'll have to manage it for the rest of your life, and your partners would have to take PREP and HIV prevention drugs.
If you decide to practice kink, be aware that consent becomes much more explicit and requires a lot of prep to properly establish. Without consent, it's just abuse.

How would you seduce podiatrist Larys?
I think the girlies need to hear this!
Oops! Here's a short story for you.
Title: Dr. Strong
Pairing: Modern!Podiatrist!Larys Strong/Female Reader with foot fungus
You were surprised that the student health plan at Westerosi University had coverage to see an on-campus podiatrist. It was disappointing not to have dental insurance, but your current dilemma involved your toes, and not your teeth.
Your mother drilled it in your head before leaving for school.
Make sure you always wear your shower flip-flops. Those communal bathrooms are bacteria mines! Her voice echoed in your brain as you made your way into the small, brightly lit office where a handsome, muscular, curly-haired receptionist sat, his eyes glued to the computer screen in front of him.
Of course, your mother was right. One time. One time without shower shoes and your big toenail on the right foot turns a shade of Simpson yellow.
Foot fungus. You were sure of it.
And it was your resident advisor who suggested taking a visit to Dr. Strong's office down at the student health clinic.
You hand your ID to the receptionist. The silver rectangular nametag had HARWIN written in bold print. His large hands point to an empty exam room to his left. "Room 4. My brother will be with you in a minute."
The posters with graphic images of foot diseases along the walls made you queasy as you make yourself comfortable, sitting down and taking off your socks and sneakers.
As promised, Doctor Larys Strong entered the room not 5 minutes later, his greasy curls falling over his eyes as he limped towards you.
You felt a pain in your heart, seeing his struggle as it came to your understanding that this job must be personal to him.
"Good afternoon. I'm Doctor Strong. And you must be Miss Y/LN."
"Y/N is fine." You smile, his blue eyes shining brightly as he returns it.
"So what seems to be the problem today?" He flips up the chart in his hand, clicking the back of his pen, already jotting down several notes.
"Well... um..." You place your naked foot onto the stool provided in front of the chair, flexing your big yellow toenail.
His eyes divert to the ground and his cheeks seem to redden.
"Oh god... It's bad isn't it?" You panic. You knew it. Your toe would have to be amputated.
"Well-" Doctor Strong begins, leaning down, carefully supporting his weight on the wooden cane he carried with him. "It's definitely not ideal."
A tear rolls down your cheek. "Are- Are you going to chop my toe off?"
Larys' eyes shoot up to meet yours, carefully examining your expression, unsure if you were being serious. "Chop it-? No! Of course not. I'm just going to prescribe some anti-fungal cream and advise you to keep your feet dry."
"Oh thank god." You breathe out a huff of air you hadn't realized you had been holding.
"Might I be so bold?" The doctor interrupts your thoughts. "As to mention that yellow is my favourite colour." He smirks, causing you to chuckle, a tiny snort erupting from your nose as well.
"Oh..." You twirl your ankle around, examining the infected nail. "It's actually... mine too."
Your heart flutters has he takes your heel in the palm of his hand. "I feel like your gentle foot would benefit from a massage."
"I don't know if my coverage-" You begin.
"It would be on the house." He replies, his nose pressing against the skin and taking a sniff.
You're surprised by his actions, but you admit that the attention feels nice. Cinderella had always been your favourite Disney movie growing up, and though your sneakers were no glass slippers, you had still found a prince.
"Would it be possible if I could take some pictures of your feet... for the medical journal I am publishing, of course. Some before and after shots of the treatment progressing." Larys asks, and you nod shyly as he pulls out his phone.
Your foot still rests in his hand, as he snaps a few pics. Moaning as he does so, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
"Is everything okay?"
He nods. "I've had many patients walk through those doors... but none with feet so... immaculate as yours."
He puts his phone away as he finishes, quickly jotting down some more notes and handing you a prescription pad.
"Apply this cream twice daily and we should start seeing results within the next couple of weeks."
You nod, as he holds out his free hand to help you from the chair. "Follow the instructions closely. We don't want to risk the infection spreading... though a pop of colour isn't the most... horrible thing..."
You feel your face heat up with embarrassment and flattery.
"I would like to schedule you in for another appointment 4 weeks from today."
4 weeks? Could the throbbing between your thighs wait that long for your feet to be touched again?
"Yes, Doctor Strong."
"Please, call me Larys."

"The Yukon is giving residents up to $1,300 a year for dental care bills that aren't covered by other forms of insurance.
The program, that started taking applications on Wednesday, covers all dental treatments that will relieve pain or infection, treat cavities and restore chewing function. Routine procedures, like dental cleanings, will also be covered.
Stephen Doyle, the Yukon's acting deputy minister of health, said the program should be able to help up to 8,000 Yukoners.
"We've already received a few applications," Doyle told CBC. "The intent is to get them processed as quickly as possible and get people ... seeing the dentist as soon as they can."
The program is open to Yukoners that have a territorial healthcare card, no other dental insurance plans and make less than $60,000 per year as an individual or less than $90,000 for individuals with two children. After that, the threshold increases with family size.
The Yukon already has a dental care program for children under 12. Any children that are not eligible for this program could be eligible for the territorial dental plan if their parents still meet the income bracket requirements.
People will have to re-apply each year to the program.
The government is committing $1.8 million towards the program. Doyle says that should be enough money for all 8,000 Yukoners who could be helped by the program, even if they max out their benefit."
