Hi! How are you? I'm so glad to see you're still writing for LA. I'm a big fan of your fics. And as I was randomly thiking about Densi, I was thinking we never got to see Kensi ask Callen and Sam to walk her down the aisle. I was wondering if you could write it? Especially Callen/Kensi because I love their friendship. Thanks again for taking the time to write wonderful stories! :)
A/N: Dear anon, so sorry for the delay (my constant anthem). Thank you for your kind words and continued support!
***
Going to the Chapel
“No, no, I don’t actually have the wedding date yet, I’m it trying to get an idea of how much catering for between one hundred and two hundred people would be. Um, I’m not sure about that,” Kensi said, tugging on her bottom lip as the caterer on the other end of the line continued to ask questions she didn’t have the answers to. “Right. I suppose I should figure that out first. Yes. Thank you so much for your time.”
She hung up, rubbing her temples. There was another hour of her life gone with no results to show for it.
“I take it wedding planning is going well,” Callen commented from beside her. His sarcastic delivery made her crack the tiniest hint of a smile. She’d almost forgotten he and Sam were in the bullpen with her.
“At this point, I’m beginning to think Deeks was right and we should have just eloped. Would have been so much easier. And less stressful.”
“I remember when Michelle and I got married. We had a tiny ceremony and reception and it still took a couple months to plan. Trying to accommodate relatives was probably the hardest part,” Sam shared knowingly.
“Oh my god, yes!” Kensi groaned. “I love Roberta, but she has so many opinions, and even though my mom is less vocal about it, I know she has just as many. Deeks spent two hours convincing his mom that we did not need crystal centerpieces to give all the guests or beef prime rib.”
“Well, we’re here to support you guys however we can,” Sam offered. “Especially if it means we get this wedding on the road.
“I will help with everything but folding napkins,” Callen specified, nodding significantly when Sam gave him an odd look.
“Actually,” Kensi hesitated. She’d been debating the whole walking down the aisle issue for months. Did she ask her mom or walk alone? Just skip it altogether?
“There is something I wanted to ask you,” she finished before she could lose the nerve again. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to though.”
“Why, is it something weird?” Callen asked. “I also draw the line at helping pick out lingerie.”
“Oh my god, no. I swear you get ten times worse when Deeks isn’t around,” Kensi said, making a face. “No, I was wondering if you and Sam would consider walking me down the aisle.”
“You want us to give you away?” Sam said, sounding surprised.
“I like to look at it more like being transported to the next stage of my life.”
“Wow, wedding planning really has screwed with your brain.
Kensi jabbed her elbow in Callen’s direction, and he moved to the side, chuckling.
“I’m serious. I was going to ask Granger before he passed.” She paused, blinking away the sudden tears in her eyes. When she spoke again, her voice betrayed a slight shakiness. “You know, since he knew my dad and he turned out to be a pretty good mentor.”
“Granger would have hated that,” Callen predicted.
“Yeah, but he wouldn’t have let anyone else do it. The man had a soft spot for sure,” Sam added. He nodded to Kensi, his expression compassionate. “I’m sorry Don couldn’t be here to walk you down that aisle.”
“I think he would be happy to know it’s two of the best men in my life,” Kensi told them honestly.
“Well, after that I don’t think we can say no,” Callen said softly.
“Definitely not.”
Kensi stood to give each of them a hug, lingering a moment in Sam’s comforting strength. “Thank you.”
“We show up for family. But “two of the best”?” Sam pointed out, feigning offense. “Not the best.”
“Only because you’ll be leading me to the very best man in my life,” Kensi said.
“Smitten,” Callen sighed, shaking his head.
“Yep, she stood no chance against the curly blonde hair and blue eyes,” Sam lamented.
Kensi just rolled her eyes, secretly enjoying their teasing.

A/N: I hope that was ok. It’s very rare for me to write a fic that doesn’t include even a tiny bit of Deeks.
Thanks for the prompt!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you @sznofthesticks for the tag!
How many works do you have on ao3?
10. I used to have around 30, but I orphaned a bunch of my old stuff recently.
What's your total ao3 word count?
112,750
What fandoms do you write for?
Shameless, 911 Lone Star, and hopefully 911 in the future? I really want to but I don't have any ideas atm.
Top five fics by kudos:
I excluded fics that I cowrote, so this is all completely my own writing. These are all more recent too, so this is much more representative of my current writing style.
shut the door and let go
lover, please stay
when all is said and done
our love will guide us home
will the pain stop (if we go deeper)
Do you respond to comments?
I try to respond to as many as I can! Sometimes I run out of words to say (communication has never been my strong suit) but I read every single one and they always make me smile.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
will the pain stop (if we go deeper)
This is the most I have ever projected my personal experience onto a fic. I was going through a breakup at the time and not handling it very well, and writing a breakup fic really helped me cope with it at the time.
I'm doing much better now, and my ex and I are on good terms. Even though the ending to the fic itself was angsty, I'd like to imagine that the characters are doing better now as well.
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics tend to have happy endings, but if I had to pick the most satisfying happy ending it would be lover, please stay.
Most of this fic is pretty angsty, but the ending makes it all worth it I think!
Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully I haven't received any nasty comments. I did receive a kind of weird comment once, but I completely forget what it even was.
Do you write smut?
I never did before I got into the shameless fandom, and then I kind of went crazy with it after that.
Craziest crossover:
I've never written a crossover before. It's not something I've ever considered or even know if I would want to do.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hopefully not!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Many times with my ex, back when we were still dating. It was a lot of fun and definitely something I'd like to try again in the future! I've always enjoyed collaborating with other people.
All time favorite ship:
Favorite ship I've written for? Tarlos. Favorite ship I've never written for? Tiva, aka Tony and Ziva from ncis. I also love Densi (Deeks and Kensi) from ncis la.
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have not written a chaptered fic in years and it is something I would really like to do. I have several ideas including a detective au that I've floated between two separate fandoms, but I still haven't been able to make any progress regarding those wips.
What are your writing strengths?
Angst and introspection! I love getting into a character's head and psychoanalyzing them (I am a psych student, after all 😂) and I also love writing sad shit. I'm a sucker for pain, it seems.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Transitions. We all know them, we all loathe them.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
If it makes sense for the situation/characters, of course! I wouldn't go overboard with it though, since I don't actually speak any other languages myself.
First fandom you wrote in:
Minecraft youtube, but like the old school kind. Around 2014-2015ish. And I physically wrote everything down in little journals. Fanfic was only something that existed in my head at the time until I discovered the likes of ff.net.
Favorite fic you've written:
My most recent fic always becomes my favorite, and that holds true today too!
My push coda, my baby, our love will guide us home.
This is something I'm incredibly proud of, and it's also my longest fic to date and something I wasn't sure I would ever be able to finish. I'm still kind of in disbelief that it's finally real.
Tagging (with no pressure ofc) @strandnreyes @carlos-in-glasses @freneticfloetry @welcometololaland and @lemonlyman-dotcom
I do remember this tag going around a few months ago so if you've already done this, you can either do it again if you want to or just accept this virtual hug from me. 🫂

Well, it’s been a week since the end of our beloved NCIS LA, and Sunday nights will never be the same. I’ve been meaning to post something that feels like a farewell and the first Sunday night after seems to be the right timing for it.
I found NCIS LA when I was in grad school. My first time out on my own, living in a crappy apartment with a roommate named Karen who was exactly as whacky as you’d imagine a person getting a master’s degree in opera could be. I don’t even know how I found the show, it must have been a rerun. But there was Deeks and there was Kensi my brain immediately said, “Wait, okay, one of them must have been injured at some point, right?” And I found Personal and the rest is history.
I had written and posted fanfic before, but nothing to the scale at which I posted Densi fic. I don’t even know how I had time to watch the show and write in between classes and working basically forty hours a week, but I made it happen because I had to. These beautiful characters had a grip on me that wouldn’t let go and the ideas just refused to quit.
Halfway through my first year I found Tumblr and was very excited to have a place to chat about Supernatural. Instead I found a happy little corner of the internet and friends I didn’t even know I needed.
@raccoonsmate4life, @aprylynn, @ejzah, @glenncoco4, and @wanna-be-bold you all have become such an incredible encouragement to me. I don’t know where my writing would be without your constant support and validation and endless kind words.
@mashmaiden, the keeper of the fandom, the person to whom no question was too small or too obscure, thank you for your service and kindness. I have often said you are the kindest person in the world, and I do truly mean that!
@chrisodonline, my saltiest of friends, I have enjoyed our chats so much. You made the highs feel higher and the lows feel bearable. I am lucky to know you!
And @bluenet13...well, I don’t even know what to say about our friendship. LA started it, SEAL Team cemented it, and now you’re stuck with me forever. Thank you for listening to my ranting and raving and sobbing and being the first person I ever trusted to read a fic before posting it.
And to everyone else who has interacted with my posts or read my fic, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I didn’t know fandom could be like this, and it has truly been such an incredible experience because of all of you!
It seems only fitting that a show that had such a beautifully tightly knit cast has handed me the best online friendships I could ask for. The show might be over, but this definitely isn’t goodbye!
In retrospect, maybe the real NCIS LA was the friendships we made along the way...

NCIS 21×05 “The Plan” is an episode about Jessica Knight, but it’s also an episode about Knight in Shining Palmer and the relationship they have now and the one they could have in the future. It’s also an episode about the things you think you want, the life you plan for, and the life you end up with.
Jessica’s side brings out a different side of Agent Knight, one that has to do with the expectations of others and one that feels very familiar to children of immigrants. And yet, this hour isn’t just about those expectations, it’s about Jessica’s decisions and how those decisions involve the relationship she’s now in.
So let us talk about that plan Jessica has taken a detour from, where this episode leaves Knight in Shinning Palmer and that little bit of angst as we discuss NCIS 21×05 “The Plan”:
THE BEST-LAID PLANS
Tumblr media
In NCIS 21×05 “The Plan” we see Jessica’s life come into direct contradiction not just with what her father wants — and expects — from her, but what Jessica herself had planned for her life. And yet, the thing is, plans change. Life isn’t something you can control, not really. And it isn’t something you should try to control. Because Jessica Knight right now has managed something she couldn’t have expected, she’s happy. And isn’t that more important than the plan?
Her father might not think so at first. It’s so hard when you’ve lived a life that is so tied to your accomplishments, to see happiness as the ultimate goal. But by the end, he’s maybe starting to come around. He’s not there yet, but he’s trying. Because he sees that Jessica is happy. And Jimmy is part of that. But she’s happy because she’s making her own decisions. And he, as her father, should respect that.
Plans are all fine and good. We should make them. But we shouldn’t become slaves to them. Sometimes things go the way we plan them. Sometimes they don’t. Sometimes people come into our lives that we didn’t plan for. And if those people make us happy, well …happpines should be the end goal for life, shouldn’t it?
THE LOVE YOU NEED
Tumblr media
There’s a lot of good sentiments in NCIS 21×05 “The Plan,” and there’s a little bit of angst — enough that it might be easier to hold onto that, to come out of this hour feeling a tad anxious about where Knight in Shining Palmer goes next. For me, however, this episode exemplifies what makes Jessica and Jimmy work as a couple, even if it also showcases how much we need a Season 22 and beyond for them to grow together.
At first glance, they might not be the most obvious couple, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need. Someone who pushes you out of your comfort zone. Someone who makes you see the world differently. And someone who is there for you when you just need a hand to hold, a shoulder to rest your head on.
They are friends first and found family before anything. That’s the strongest foundation there is for a love that can carry you through the hardest times and a love that can support you through anything. Procedurals are the land of great couples. There’s Mulder and Scully. There’s Bones and Booth. There’s Castle and Beckett. The NCIS franchise has given us Tiva and Densi. And now, well …not we have Palmer and Knight. Who would have thought?
RIGHT NOW
Tumblr media
There’s a little bit of angst in NCIS 21×05 “The Plan,” and it comes from Jessica stumbling upon her words as she tries to explain to Jimmy what he means to her. “Right now” to her doesn’t mean she isn’t committed, it means she doesn’t see life the way Jimmy does, not yet.
“You may not be part of my dad’s plan, but you are part of mine,” she tells him later, as close to a declaration of commitment as Jessica Knight gets. But the “right now” lingers in Jimmy’s mind, one can tell. He’d fall on the sword for her if she asked. He’s ready to fall on the sword without her asking, as soon as she brings up her dad’s position, which she never intended on taking.
This is partly insecurity and partly a bad combo of who they are as people and how their personalities potentiate each other’s fears. Jimmy doesn’t know how to ask for more. Jessica doesn’t always know how to say what she feels. In the end, they both need to take a little step out of their comfort zone for the relationship to work. That’s what you do when you love someone.
Things I think I think:
Come on, McGee. All these years later and you think you can just walk into the office talking about something so sus and not dish? This is what family is all about!
Torres and Knight being so quick to look at his screen is what this team is all about, I’m telling you.
Half-sister. Yiikes.
Jessica’s dad is coming oh yay (not? I’m unclear here).
Okay, so Jessica’s dad doesn’t know about Jimmy. But why?
Look Dad, this is a really compromising situation, okay? Start explaining.
Family is also going from “Please leave” to “Love you,” okay? Okay.
The Jimmy scene with Jessica’s dad might have been the most awkward scene I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.
Kudos to Brian Dietzen, he acted the hell out of that.
MUCH MORE.
Dad saw right through you.
And still made him suffer.
I mean, I respect that, not gonna lie.
“You looked him up already?”/”Why else would I let you drive?”
We’re dealing with “I’ll take cyanide instead of speaking level perps”? Whaaaat?
Everyone not so subtly looking at Jess like “are you gonna go talk to him or?”
But don’t you love how Jimmy just sees right through her?
“Right now.”
OUCH.
“You may not be part of my dad’s plan, but you are a part of mine.”
Always so eloquent, Nick.
WHEN HE SAID I’M JUST TRYING NOT TO STAND IN YOUR WAY.
I’m gonna go stand in traffic, Jimmy.
Look, I don’t even mind the tiny angst.
“He wants what’s best for me.”
Just don’t get sacrificial on me, Jimmy.

I haven’t watched in years. This show was a huge part of my twenties and I am forever grateful for the years I spent watching and fannypacking with some dear friends from all corners of this globe. It’s so bittersweet to see it end, but many, Densi really is canon and at least one NCIS ship gets their happy ending.

Explaining my big reception party theory:
This is the last time I’ll get to do this, plus it just sounds so sleuth like to put all this into detail! So I hope you’ll try to pay attention.
Right now, what we have right now on the wedding is that it definitely has the look of an elopement. And we also have teasers of surprise guests (according to TV Guide, some have already started showing up). But how can that be when all of the guests at the ceremony clearly live nearby?
Hence, why it’s very very likely there will be a big party afterwards with the surprise guests, including Hetty, included!
Clue 1:
Tumblr media
This was the photo that early on in the finale filming period that 100% convinced me that the wedding would happen. Now while I don’t know that that is where they filmed the ceremony, this looks like it could be where they filmed the big reception!
Clue 2: TV Guide quote:
‘noting that wedding attendees have already arrived in town ahead of the originally planned big day’.
The ceremony is just the team plus Rosa and Bertie. Just another lie? Or a big clue of a big afterparty?! 🥳
Clue 3:
I know there are rumblings of Eric and Nell possibly being included. They would definitely want to included in the festivities. Think they’re already in town without anyone noticing and they hear about the elopement and decide that they must plan the reception so they can be included? 😉
Clue 4:
Does anyone really think Arkady won’t be included in this at all? That would be playing with fire in the worst way! Answer: The reception!
Part 2: How this can be how Hetty is included.
Yes, I’m aware she’s not in any of the photos. But, there ARE some clues here too that hint at how she’ll be included:
Clue 1: TV Guide Quote:
‘Although she will have a presence’.
TV Guide’s very sly way of saying that she would be at Densi’s wedding was ‘A surprise so big, we have to keep it secret’. She may not be at the ceremony itself physically, BUT, she can definitely be at the reception! (and also, leaving her out of this would incite massive social media rage everywhere, and that is the last thing you want to do when you’re promising a ‘sunny finale for everyone’)
Clue 2:
Hetty always has 1 big surprise up her sleeve. And since her being the big surprise seems to be a favorite of CBS’s, think all this crypticness is all hinting at her physically being at the reception?
Clue 3:
Sneaking back home without anyone being the wiser is how she came home in Seasons 10 and 12, she can definitely do it again here!
Clue 4: The Every Day Action auction
Yes, I know from Karen on here that the auctioned off episode scripts Linda signed were only the ones that she was in, and yes, I know she signed her name on BOTH scripts for the 2 part finale!
1 huge question that may be the real kicker here:
‘Would she sign those 2 scripts if she wasn’t going to be in them?’
I say NO!
All in all: I say there will be a big reception at the end, and that Hetty and possibly Nell and Eric plan it, and that everyone gets to be all happy and merry, and there is potentially 1 last big emotional toast, and that’s how it all ends. Everyone gets to be happy, and I get to be happy about this show 1 last time, and we all get to see the ENTIRE team be happily reunited!
I say this is the absolute best way to end the show. It entirely fits the ‘sunny finale’ promises, and it fits other things as well that we know Hetty and CBS like to pull off. And it opens the door for any future cameo on any other NCIS!
Everyone wins with this. Whose with me?

15 Questions, 15 Mutuals
Thanks for tagging me @herveiwfromthefloor
1. Are you named after anyone?
That’s a debate actually! Am I named after my dad’s ex-girlfriend? Or am I named after his cousin? Or am I named after a combination of both? WHO IS TO SAY?
2. When was the last time you cried?
Oh, I definitely teared up earlier. I know I’ve cried recently, though. It’s not uncommon when I feel ANY kind of strong emotion.
3. Do you have kids?
Nope x1000
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Sarcasm? Me? That neverrrrr happens.
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Hmmm, I’m so bad with faces. I think their hair color usually so I can try and remember their names. When I meet two people with the same hair color at the same time? Good luck to them! They will always be the same person to me no matter how different they look in all other respects!
6. What's your eye color?
Deeeeeeeep brown.
7. Scary movie or happy ending
Happy ending. Don’t you dare give me a scary movie. If it is spookier than SO WEIRD, I am OUT.
8. Any special talents?
I don’t know, man. What’s a special talent? At work I’m good at remembering things, and I am excellent at forecasting well enough to foresee problems and pre-solve them, if we’re going for LinkedIn skills and talents. I like to imagine I have some writing talent. But is that special?
9. Where were you born?
[REDACTED] IYKYK -- but it’s Deep South.
10. What are your hobbies?
Hahaha. Does procrastinating count? I like to do different types of crafts, write, and watch TV shows only to rewatch them 1,000 times.
11. Do you have any pets?
Yes, my two cats. I love them even if they are stinkers. Ollie has needed a lot of attention lately.
12. What sports do you play/ have you played?
For some reason, my parents let me play T-Ball, softball, and even basketball. I sucked at ALL of them. Each year of T-ball led to a permanent, physical scar. And I didn’t even get those injuries during actual games. Just practicing.
13. How tall are you?
5'4 -- though that’s debated, too. I’m on the lower end and have horrible posture.
14. Favorite subject in school?
K-12? English. (Maybe Math comes second.)
15. Dream job?
If I could write -- or actually help people write -- all day long, that would be great. (I like helping people workshop their ideas and things, and I did want to be an editor when I was leaving high school. Did not happen. Obviously.) I would also not be mad about crafting all day, though I know that as a business can wear you down. If I had to dream super big, I have always wanted to have the job that Frankie has on Community, where you just go in and help people fix their problems. I don’t think it’s a real job, but I want it. I do it all the time at work already.
Tag 15 mutuals (but it will be less for me):
I think most have done this??? Not sure. I’m just going go to through my activity list.

Thanks for tagging me @chicgeekgirl89!
ONE: Are you named after anyone?
Possibly a great aunt, but it’s never been confirmed.
TWO: When was the last time you cried?
I think a random Instagram video?
THREE: Do you have kids?
Not unless you count the few hundred students I’ve worked with and the twins I’ve manifested for Densi.
FOUR: Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Yes. But I also am quite self-conscious, which makes an odd mix.
FIVE: What sports have you played/do you played?
I played three years of softball (terribly and way too old) and now I’m trying to run. I’m not very good at the either.

spoilers or maybe not lol:
its no secret i hated the wedding lol but the fact we got nallen at the end and chris’ son guesting and nate back made up for it lol. and the 50 ideas we now all have of them on a mission together hehehe.  as much as charlie looked like chris in s1, this kid chip is the spitting image. looks & sounds just like him lol. i kinda called the densi baby but i’m happy for them. though my heart still wanted deeks’ friend ray back (which we were promised years ago) and nadir to see callen ‘cause they had such an impactful episode & it would've made total sense to reconnect. i originally thought since the guy delivering the letter was arabic it’d be from nadir but i’m glad it was from hetty. and understand the possible reasons linda couldn’t be there even though we all wanted to see her. and as they said it was typical hetty & nell to have that side mission hehehe and loved seeing nate back as i apparently missed his appearence last year? oh and i looove arkady flirting with mama deeks!!

i hope hetty gets a happy ending in the end with everyone else. it wouldn't feel complete with her
NCISLA has a loyal wonderful fan base. I hope the series finale makes all the fans happy. As a Densi fan, I was happy that Hetty played an iconic role in their wedding. Hopefully the series finale does justice to her character.

hi!! could you write a draft where the whole team is together, like hanging out at a bar at the end of a case or something, and deeks and kensi are being super sweet to each other and another member of the group (probably callen) watches them and thinks about how wonderful it must be to have something like what they have. sorry if I'm asking too many prompts I'm just obsessed with your densi's fics hahah
A/N: Hi there!
You’re not asking for too many fics! Glad you’re enjoying them.
***
Here’s to Happiness
“I still say that was a lucky shot,” Sam insisted as Callen racked up the pool balls and Kensi and Deeks replaced their cues on the wall. “There was something on my cue.” He glared at the offending stick.
“Uh-huh,” Callen said, chuckling at his partner. “Pay up.” He made a “gimme” gesture until Sam grudgingly reached into his pocket and pulled out a $50, slapping the bill into Callen’s outstretched hand.
“You didn’t seem to be having any problems with your cue when you beat me,” Kensi pointed out.
“Yeah, that was before I switched with Deeks.”
“Oh no, I am not getting in the middle of this argument,” Deeks said with a chuckle as they settled back in at the two tables they’d pushed together to make one long one. He draped his arm over Kensi’s shoulders, the gesture comfortable, like he’d done it several times, before he caught himself, and hastily shifted to the back of her chair instead.
Even then, Kensi leaned back a little, like she was searching out his touch.
“Ok, who’s getting the next round?” Nell asked loudly. She’d decided to sit the last round of pool out with Eric in favor of spectating. Callen noticed she’d also taken the opportunity to finish off two more drinks in that time. Which meant she was even more energetic, and entertaining that usual.
Sam nudged his shoulder. “C’mon, spread around some of your ill-gotten winnings.”
“It’s ok, I got it,” Deeks said before Callen could protest, reaching for his wallet. “I’m feeling generous tonight.”
“Ooh, in that case, make mine a medium,” Nell requested. “Sugar on the rim.”
“You got it. Same for everyone else?”
He got a round of nods.
“I’ll help you,” Kensi offered, unnecessarily.
Callen watched approach the bar, practically on top of each other as Deeks gave the bartender their lengthy order. They were given a couple of beers almost immediately, then moved down the line to wait for the mixed drinks.
A few minutes later, Deeks leaned in closer to Kensi under the guise of grabbing the rest of the drinks. His hand rested low on her back for a moment, mouth close to her ear. Whatever he said must have been hilarious, because Kensi did that weird snort-cackle thing of hers. Or, they were so head-over-heels in love that she found everything he said funny.
They lingered at the bar for a couple extra minutes. If Callen hadn’t already known they were together, he would certainly guess they were sleeping together at the very least after tonight.
“Ok, they were all out of that fancy beer you like,” Deeks announced, setting a cold bottle in front of Sam. “So, you’ll have to deal with good old Miller. Sam made a face at that, but took a drink anyway. “Beer for Callen, frozen peach and strawberry margaritas for the Wonder Twins (Kensi set two wide stemmed glasses at Nell and Eric’s end of the table), and of course, only the best for my Ladybird.”
Deeks presented Kensi with her favorite beer with a flourish. She rolled her eyes, but couldn’t completely hide a pleased smile.
Callen wondered if they knew just how obvious they were. Sure, Deeks had always called Kensi nicknames, just as they’d always bantered, and been way more hands-on than most partners. The touching and names had shifted, taking on a distinctly more flirtatious tone in the last couple months.
They hadn’t gone so far as to engage in full-blown PDAs in front of the team, thankfully. Though Nell had adamantly warned against anyone entering the burn room without knocking after an incident she refused to discuss.
“What are you smiling at?” Sam asked, interrupting Callen’s musing.
He jutted his chin in Kensi and Deeks’ direction; they were leaning into each other, Kensi giggling again.
“Mm. What are those two knuckleheads up to now?”
“Eh, the usual.”
“Thinking they’re being discreet, when I’m reality anyone within a mile radius can tell they’re stupidly in love.”
“Pretty much,” Callen agreed.
“Idiots,” Sam said fondly. He watched them too for a few moments, then sighed. “I just hope the fall out isn’t too bad when they eventually crash and burn.”
“You think it’s inevitable?” The thought bothered him more than he liked to consider.
“This is a hard job, and they’re passionate people. Mix the two together,” Sam shrugged. “The odds aren’t in their favor unfortunately.”
“I hope they do,” Callen said, drawing a surprised look from Sam. “Everyone deserves to be happy.”
“Oh, when did you become Mr. Romance?”
“Easy now. I’m just saying, they seem happy, and I’d hate to see them go back to tension of before. Or worse.”
“God, let’s hope not,” Sam groaned. “I think I’d end up shooting somebody.”
Callen shook his head as Kensi, probably with the help of several drinks, threw caution to the wind, and kissed Deeks’ cheek. Although Nell was right next to them, she was too busy teaching Eric some overly complicated looking card game, to notice.
“Of course, this all stays between you and me. Officially, I think it’s a terrible idea,” Callen stressed.
“Absolutely,” Sam agree, clinking the neck of his beer against Callen’s. “Can’t make it too easy on, ‘em.”

A/N: I’m almost certain this isn’t really what you were asking for, but it’s what came out. I hope that’s ok.
Thanks for the prompt!

Why ‘NCIS: LA’ Star Daniela Ruah Is ‘Thrilled’ About Densi’s ‘New Beginnings’
NCIS: Los Angeles ended its 14-year run with a series finale, titled “New Beginnings,” that delivered happiness and left quite a bit up in the air about the future. For Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), whose journey to parenthood hasn’t been easy (remember back when the top of kids first came up?), she found out she’s pregnant just before Callen (Chris O’Donnell)…

How to Say Goodbye
Fandom: NCIS LA
Characters: Marty Deeks, Kensi Blye, Monty
Summary: After an extremely hard day Kensi and Deeks reevaluate their careers and consider where the road ahead might lead. A post ep for S14E12 "In the Name of Honor."
A/N: Wow, hello old friends. It's been a while. In light of the recent announcement about cancellation it only felt right that I come out of retirement and give the couple who changed my writing life a little bit of a sendoff. This may not be my final Densi fic, I'm leaving the door open for the rest of the season, but if it is, I'm happy with where I've left them. Enjoy!
Also, Monty lives for as long as I write in this fandom. Does it make sense? Probably not. Do I care? No.
Read on AO3
Kensi slides into the passenger seat and lets her head fall back against the headrest, eyes closing as her body relaxes into the leather. She’s going to be sore tomorrow. Like take two Advil before she even gets out of bed sore.
“Hey, you okay?” Deeks asks as he gets in the driver’s side and pulls on his seatbelt.
She nods. “Yeah. Yeah I’m just tired.”
“That makes sense, you had a rough day,” Deeks says.
She snorts. “Yeah, right, that’s what it was. A ‘rough day.’”
Deeks is quiet for a moment and then he reaches over a hand, sliding it between her head and the seat, gently massaging the back of her neck. She sighs and relaxes under his touch.
“Let’s bail on Callen,” he says softly. “He’ll understand. Let me take you home. We can order delivery, go to bed early.”
She opens her mouth to protest, to say that it’s not fair to bail on their friend, but honestly, if she closes her eyes for too long right now, she’s probably not going to open them again, so she nods and Deeks sends a text and then they’re heading for home.
She must doze off on the drive because it seems very short tonight and when they get inside she face plants directly into their couch without even taking off her shoes. Monty shuffles over and she blindly reaches out a hand to give him a scratch behind the ears.
She hears Deeks drop their bags and then call for Monty to go outside, the back door opening and closing so he can go out and take care of business for the night. When Deeks comes back about ten minutes later he sets something down on the coffee table. Squinting one eye open she finds a glass of wine sitting in front of her face and then grunts out her thanks as she feels him reach down to gently unlace and slide off her shoes.
Once that’s done he settles onto the far end of the couch and pulls her feet into his lap. One hand lands on her calf and squeezes gently. “Rosa is going to stay at my mom’s tonight,” he says quietly.
At that her eyes pop open and she rolls over onto her back so she can look at him. “Oh no, I wanted to see her,” she says sadly.
“I’ll bring her by in the morning before school,” he says.
She sighs. She knows Rosa is safe and happy at Roberta’s, but she misses her daughter and after a day like this it helps to have her presence in the house. “Okay. Thanks.”
“And dinner is ordered, it will be here in forty minutes,” he says as he begins to rub her feet.
“You are the perfect husband,” she says, enjoying the way it feels as he works the arch of her right foot.
He chuckles. “I’m going to go draw you a bath okay? You can relax until the food gets here.”
He starts to get up, but she catches his hand. “Don’t go,” she says softly.
He nods and sinks back down into the couch as she sits up, crossing her legs so she can really look at him. “What’s on your mind Fern?” he asks.
“Today was close,” she says. “Really close.”
“Yeah,” he says, emotion flitting through his eyes. “It was…yeah. Really close.”
She looks down and toys with his fingers as she tries to put what she’s feeling into words. “I thought about Rosa,” she says finally. “When they took us, when they tied us up and put us in the back of that van, before they knocked us out. I thought about everything that she’s lost. And I thought about you having to tell her that one more person she loves isn’t coming home.”
Deeks blows out a breath and shakes his head. “My mind didn’t even get that far,” he admits. “I just couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that I wasn’t there. That there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop what was about to happen to you and Fatima.”
Kensi swallows. “Deeks, if Fatima hadn’t woken up, if she hadn’t been there, I don’t think I would have been able to save myself today. I don’t think I would have made it out of that car.”
Silence fills the space as they both process what she’s just said. “Okay,” Deeks says finally. “Okay, what do we do with that?”
She shrugs. “I don’t know. I just, I can’t stop thinking that this is a young person’s game. We have Fatima and Rountree now and maybe…maybe this isn’t working anymore. I’m not sure I’m willing to keep sacrificing our family for the greater good.” She leans back against the arm rest and shoves a hand through her hair. “I don’t know Deeks.”
“You don’t have to know,” he tells her because he is good and kind and would never, ever try to make a decision for her. “Not right now.”
“We’ve been saying that for years,” she tells him helplessly. “We’ve been talking about how this is going to work with our hypothetical kids for years. But Deeks, Rosa is here now and she’s ours and we have a responsibility to her and we can’t just keep talking about it like it’s something that’s going to happen in the future. We have to make a choice.”
“I know,” he says. “I know. You’re right.”
“Yeah,” she says, with a sigh. “I am.”
“What do you want to do?” he asks after a long, heavy moment.
“I’m not sure,” she says. “We’ve had offers. Maybe it’s time for me to start seriously considering some of them.”
“Time for us,” he corrects. “If you’re going, I’m going too.”
“Deeks, just because I’m ready, that doesn’t mean you have to—“
“You’re going to leave me to third wheel it with Callen and Sam all by myself? Ha! Not a chance,” he says.
She leans forward and cups the back of his head, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips. “I never thought this would be my life,” she says. “This was…this was not something I planned for. I thought I would do the agent thing, maybe move into something else after a couple years, I don’t know. But you and Rosa, you were never part of the plan.” She runs a hand through his hair. “God I’m so glad you’re part of the plan now.”
He takes her hand, kisses her palm. “You two are the only plan I want. My girls,” he says, voice thick, eyes bright. “My two perfect, beautiful, amazing, kickass girls.”
“How are we going to tell them all goodbye?” she asks, her own throat feeling tight. “Sam and Callen and everyone else. They’re our family too.”
“We’ll figure it out,” Deeks tells her. “Nell and Eric did it and look at them now. Happy as two little clams. Really rich clams. Clams with only slightly less money than Jeffy B.”
She snorts and rolls her eyes. How is that after all these years he can still make her laugh with all his ridiculousness? “I love you,” she tells him.
“I love you too.” He stands and holds out a hand. “Now come on. We’ve run out of time for a bath, but I think I can rustle up a reasonably good shower before the food gets here.”
“That is the sexiest thing you’ve ever said to me,” she says, letting him pull her up off the couch.
“How about I do you one better and tell you there’s ice cream in the freezer? And I DVR’ed the new episode of Below Deck?”
“Best. Husband. Ever.”
