Watching NCIS LA rn. Am I the only one who thinks this guy is really hot??

Made a rewatch of NCIS: LA and finished it by watching season 13 and 14 for the first time. It was a hell of a ride but I enjoyed it like watching it the first time.

I still think the vibe changed with the death of Granger and Hettys Hail Mary in Syria, but it will always be one of my favorite shows.

On of the reasons is the amazing writing of Kensi and Deeks. Their journey and story is on of the best on TV. I just know one better written couple.

OMG, my friends are AMAZING!!!!!

Seriously, I have some of the best friends in the world. As I showed you guys last year, for each of our birthdays we always make each other fun cakes. They usually end up fandom-y themed in some way, but not always. This year, my friend Florencia OUTDID everything we've ever done before. I was very confused when she told me I needed to bring over my pops, but I did. And well, just look!

She not only made me a regular human-sized cake, but she also made a POPsized cake for my #popdensi too!!!! And EVERYTHING on the table is edible, from the dishes and the silverware and the two different coffee mugs, the "fruit" and the "fritatta", she even made clear GELATIN OJ glasses and put orange pulp in them! The color of the cake was to match the walls behind them and the pearls had a "wave" theme in its patterning, and the surfboard has one of the wonderful quotes from the scene.

Densi themselves are a lemon/poppyseed ("sunshine and gunpowder") sugar cookie, which she made by printing this screencap, cutting out their shapes, and using that to cut the cookies. Then she used watercolor frosting pens to color them in (which is why Deeks's white shirt is a little greenish).

But there is one downside to such a cool cake - I could hardly bear to even CUT it! 😭

They also spoiled me with some pretty fun little fandom gifts too! =D

(Sorry for the not-so-humble brag, I just wanted my friend to get the praise she deserves for this masterpiece!)

Also, I’m so mad. I 10000% planned to liveblog with you good people but then my in laws were here and work stuff that was supposed to be ready this morning wasn’t ready until tonight so I had to focus on that.

But I love you all so much and thank you, LA fandom, for the past 14 seasons of fun (and well, 9 that I’ve been on tumblr)

Who is up for Densi-mber 7?!

Even though the show is over (😢), I think TV's best couple deserves at least one more big celebration! I can't believe this will be the SEVENTH one! Densi-mber December is almost here! 31 days of Densi, sounds like a great time to me!

If others are up for enjoying the event, and/or helping plan things and contributing to the event, I'm up for hosting it at least once more! (Not to say it won't continue past 2023, but at this point, I'm committing for this year!)

@ejzah has agreed to again write some of her awesome ficlets for the event, and I plan on gif-ing moments from throughout the entire series. Any suggestions will gladly be taken into consideration! Especially moments from more recent seasons!

That said, Densi-mber number 7 is just 2.5 months away! Please reach out if you'd like to help take part this year! As long as it's Densi-related (which this year will include their growing family), we want to see it! Gifs, stories, photo edits, art, whatever Densi things you want to share, we are up for it! (side note: Although the event takes place in December and we sometimes use that to have some holiday themes/prompts, that is not a requirement for the event! It's just in December for pun's sake (and also when their "all-in" anniversary is)

If you're not feeling as creative to make your own things, feel free to reach out with ideas you'd like to see from the rest of us! I'm also going to try to add in some fun questions and trivia that anyone can take part in!

As in years past, the event mostly takes place here on Tumblr, but we do have both an Instagram and a Twitter/X/whatever-it-is page too. They're both @densimber (no hyphen). I'd love to spread the Densi-mber love as far and as wide as possible! If anyone would like to volunteer to help with sharing the event on either of those accounts, I'd love the assistance! After watching all these scenes from the earlier seasons I desperately need to rewatch Hand-to-Hand, Human Traffic and Plan B. Those will forever be some of my favorite eps ever.

One of the (many) frustrating things about Callen and Deeks not really getting to work or interact on screen with each other over the years is not just the entertaining chaos we have missed out on but also how much they’d actually get done. 

Like, the Pembroke thing would’ve been wrapped up the minute Callen learned about it. Deeks would be like, “Wait, someone tortured children? Let’s go find that bastard.” And then they’d be able to. They’d hunt him down, outsmart him, and Deeks would probably even figure out some legal loophle to get him put away.

And Callen’s love language is really in acts, specifically acts he does because he’s perceptive. He listens and sees more than people seem to remember. He also knows it’s hard for people to ask for favors. So he’d totally start helping Deeks with something before he even asked. 

ANYWAY, that’s my rant for the day.
