Bradley’s karaoke song, which he only pulls out when he is PISSED drunk, is ‘let’s here it for the boy’ by Deneice Williams
Jake’s is ‘Fake ID’ by Big&Rich and Gretchen Wilson
We’re gonna pretend that Despicable Me was out when Bradley was a kid. He was watching it on the couch one afternoon when first Mav, then Ice did the dad thing where they stand behind the couch and watch from afar. By the time the third one came out, they all went to the cinemas to see it, and Mav was honestly more excited abt it than Bradley.
Bob plays Minecraft to chill out after work. He’s scary good at it but usually only plays single player.
Mav tried out for his schools basketball team after people called him short, but he didn’t get in. So out of spite he joined the netball team (which was so small they didn’t have seperate gendered teams, though the majority of them were girls) and he absolutely dominated. Not because he was a dude and he had an unfair advantage but because he was so short he was the perfect centre and he would appear outta no where. So when the basketball team coach offered him a position on the team (which was doing pretty shit) he declined and stayed with the netball team until he graduated.
He still stays in touch with the team and calls them ’The Girls’ to Ice.
Nat is an absolute god at ping pong/table tennis. She’s unstoppable and most of the squad learnt pretty fast not to challenge her unless they wanted their pockets cleaned out.
Slider has a video of Ice singing ‘ice ice baby’ when he was drunk, he went full out rapper, he was impressively committed, which he uses to blackmail him whenever he wants something.
Jake has a birthmark on the left side of his back, just under his shoulder blade, and Bradley loves peppering kisses around it.

Current wip of a steddie fic. So this is like a little excerpt of the first chapter.
✨️🩷✨️🩷✨️
Eddie Munson is a lot of things; poor, a liar, a drug dealer, a coward, an asshole, he's Allen Munson's kid, King of the Freaks and on the wrong side of the tracks.
Which is why he finds himself in a toilet cubicle of a nightclub - the AV club to be exact - on a Sunday night. His old black lunch box sitting on the toilet behind him, handing out ‘candy’ to whichever rich asshole is too fucked out to notice him overcharging for a couple of tabs and pills. He knows that one day someone is going to notice and probably beat the shit out of him, but Eddie has too many mouths to feed and bills to pay to really care about some hypothetical future problem.
Plus, that shithead Ronald Reagan keeps talking about ‘trickle-down economics,’ so Eddie is just facilitating where that money trickles down to.
“You got any molly?” a freckelled brunette man asks, leaning against the doorframe wearing a fucking designer polo and a familiar maroon letterman jacket. Chicago University basketball team, Eddie can spot those assholes a mile away.
“I can do one-fifty for three grams,” Eddie answers easily, taking out a little plastic bag from his lunch box.
“A hundred-and-fifty dollars, are you fucking serious?” The man sputters, looming over Eddie.
“If there is another dealer in your area, by all means, use them. Otherwise, kindly fuck off so you're not holding up the line,” he counters, gesturing to the growing queue.
Eddie watches the brunette chew on his anger for a moment until the man rolls his eyes “fine.” He groans loudly, taking out his wallet and shoving the bills into Eddie's hand, mumbling “jerk,” for good measure. The bathroom door bangs open.
“Security!” Garth shouts, and Eddie springs into action, ditching the bag of pills at the brunette, and grabbing his lunch box just as he hears a pair of large footsteps hit the tiles.
He sprints forward, shoving the brunette aside, barely missing the security guard’s large hand when he skids across the floor. He laughs manically when he sees a couple of people getting in the way of Frank, a huge dude, chasing after him, saluting them when he hears an encouraging “run Eddie!”
The music in the club is loud, lights flashing across the dancefloor, bodies moving to the pop rhythm, and Eddie grins when he hears Deneice Williams shouting out to the boys. He bobs and weaves through the crowd, spills drinks, ignores people swearing at him, and ducks out of the way of large fists trying to grab at him. He sprints out of the club, barely looks as he crosses the street, hearing the angry beeping of the taxis that have to stop abruptly.
“Fuck you Munson! If I see you here again I'm gonna fuckin' beat the shit outta you!” bellows Frank, standing at the entrance to the club, breathing heavy with his hands on his knees.
“Ok, I'll see you next week!” he calls back, laughing when Frank flips him the bird.

R.I.P. Thom Bell
Thom Bell, one of the creators of the Philadelphia soul sound, died last Thursday at age 79. Bell's earliest successes as an arranger go back to his days of working with the local group The Delfonics and producing their hits "La-La (Means I Love You)" and "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)?" He later joined Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff's record company and arranged music for The O'Jays, Archie Bell & The Drells, Dusty Springfield, Jerry Butler and Jerry Bell. The three of them also formed the Mighty Three Music publishing company. Bell's production genius went on to produce The Stylistics, The Spinners, James Ingram, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dionne Warwick, Deneice Williams and The Temptations.Bell had formed a songwriting partnership with Linda Creed that was responsible for the hits with The Spinners and The Stylistics.
The sound Bell developed with Gamble and Huff had joyful orchestration, rumbling bass lines and what Fred Wesley described as "putting the bow tie on funk." Bell's training as a classical pianist gave him the vision to add violin and the oboe to his arrangements which was unheard of in R&B. His admitted influence from Burt Bacharach was so strong that he was called the Black Burt Bacharach. The songs he produced were the backbone of '70s soul and his work with Williams in the '80s was on two of her biggest song; "Silly" and "It's Gonna Take A Miracle." Bell retired from music in the '90s around the same time Mighty Three Music was sold to Warner Chappell Music. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2006, the Musicians Hall Of Fame and Museum in 2016 and in 2017 received a Grammy Trustees Award.

CD REVIEW: JOHNNY MATHIS ~ Me And Mrs. Jones (1973) / Killing Me Softly With Her Song (1973) / I’m Coming Home (1973) / Feelings (1975) - (2023)
Before “Manilow Magic” there was the “wonderful, wonderful” music of Johnny Mathis - a very handsome man with a crystal clear voice. An uncomplicated singer, he first set the gold standards back in 1956, with his first hit record on the American charts.
This new “silver”, brings us four albums on two CDs, and includes the 1975 UK smash, ‘I’m Stone In Love With You’, formerly a Top 10 US hit for The Stylistics two years earlier.
Two years later, ‘99 Miles From L.A’, from 1977 is also among the 43 tracks. A song created by Albert Hammond who had a No.1 with it in 1975 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart. It's perhaps a softer twist on the rock & roll of, ‘24 Hours From Tulsa’, recorded by Gene Pitney back in the 1960s.
As a golden rule, Johnny Mathis has certainly covered the very best hit music since the 1950s and his long career in music has included duets with some of the best female vocalists e.g, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick and Deneice Williams. 2013 saw his last album release, he’s 87, and still on tour!
BGO’s polished approach to his back catalogue brings the delight of middle-of- the-road to audiences old and new, very much, then, as now, BBC Radio 2 playlist fare - that’s quality entertainment!
Rating: 8.5/10
