You'd been struggling in your Applied Magical Potions class, and Satan had volunteered to partner up with you to better assist in your learning. He always enjoyed supporting you, teaching you all sorts of things about the Devildom and magic in exchange for information about the Human Realm. He wasn't sure why the information seemed so much more captivating than when he read it from his books, but he could never wait to learn more from you or about you.

In class, you two had been tasked with mixing a powerful aphrodisiac as a partner project. Gathering the ingredients had went off surprisingly without a hitch. You’d spent the week seeking out what you needed and had had no issue obtaining things like the scale of a Demonkiller Remora, three petals of a Hell Jasmine plant, and even the spit of a succubus, which hadn't been an issue asides from Satan coming out of the ordeal with a face as red as a Hell tomato. The final part of the project was just successfully mixing the ingredients together to make the finished product, and everything had gone right until his and your hands had accidentally bumped while transferring the flask.

It was a tiny splash, and of course you were both wearing gloves as part of the safety procedure. But, if anything can go wrong, it often does, and the splash landed just beyond the safety of the barrier, onto Satan's uncovered wrist. You'd immediately fussed after Satan, making sure he washed it off right away and kept your eye on him afterwards in case he started to feel any effects. But he brushed off your concerns, reassuring you that he was fine, that he wasn't feeling any changes and that the amount that had splashed was maybe even negligible in amount. He was totally fine.

And for a while, he was. The rest of the class passed by without issue, and you two were awarded high grades for your excellent collaboration on the project, celebrating with an excited high five at the end. Once the bell rang and class was dismissed, you realized your next destination was different from Satan's, and you made one last check with Satan to make sure he was still okay. But he just waved you off, even pushing you out the door so that you wouldn't be late, and you couldn't really protest as he looked normal, so you simply shrugged and moved on.

Satan quickly gathered his things and went out into the hallway, intending to go to his next class. But as he was walking down the hall, a spike of heat flooded his body, stopping him in his tracks. Satan gave it a moment to double check, but he knew without a doubt what caused it, and given the strength of the potion he had made with you just barely an hour prior, he could only anticipate what was awaiting him.

He booked it down the hallway, in search of any kind of secluded spot, and happened across a custodial closet. It felt so uncouth, jacking off in there, but he wasn’t sure he could keep quiet enough in a bathroom, with the echoing quality of the tiles. After ensuring no one could see him, he quickly slipped into the closet, sweat already beading along his forehead. Even in just the seconds it took to get to the space, Satan’s body felt like it was on fire, and he couldn’t remove his school jacket fast enough. Just trying to undo his bowtie and open his shirt was a struggle, a true testament to the strength of the potion,  given how quickly it was acting.

It wasn’t his first rodeo with an aphrodisiac, thanks to Asmo (that he would never elaborate on for the sake of his own sanity, and did his best to forget). He knew roughly what to expect, in terms of how he’d be feeling and for how long, common side effects, etc. And he also knew the only thing that would help him now would be satisfying his urge, terrible location notwithstanding. But the potion had also been powerful stuff, and Satan was doing his best to keep his head on straight, trying to make sure the door was blocked to prevent any unwanted witnesses. His groin was already aching, as well, his cock straining against his pants in desperate search of relief.

He unleashed a huge sigh of relief as he opened his pants, and just took a moment to take a deep breath, trying to stabilize himself before moving on. He spit on his hand and wrapped it around his shaft, and the relief was immense. He wasted no time in stroking himself, building up a nice rhythm. But now with this burning lust in his veins, those curiosities grew more heated, darker. As he continued stroking himself, you came unbidden to his mind, picturing your lips, the shape of your body. How did you pleasure yourself? Did you like to use toys, watch some kind of media? Or maybe you liked erotica, a fellow bookworm like him? What kind of noises did you make? Some tiny, sane part of Satan’s brain was telling him this was wrong, that he shouldn’t be fantasizing about you like this when you’re not together. "Satan, are you in there?" Lucifer's voice called from outside. Just hearing it grated on his nerves. "You're late for class! Whatever you're doing, you'd better be done soon or I'll report you to Lord Diavolo."

The entire time, Satan's hand couldn't stop, almost as if it had a mind of its own. And as Lucifer gave his warning, really a half-assed threat as Satan didn't give two shits about being reported, the anger it sparked simply fueled him on. He kept his voice quiet, but his panting and the slightly wet fapping sounds as he fucked his fist filled the small space.

How dare Lucifer threaten him? Where did he get off on ordering him around? It wasn't like he wanted to be there, anyway, lusting over someone he wasn't with, struggling with the effects of that damn aphrodisiac he'd had to make with you. It was infuriating. He wondered, then: what if he was with you? He knew Lucifer was interested in you; really, all of his brothers and even himself were, if he was being honest. What he would give to be fucking you right now, right up against the door where Lucifer could hear. Maybe that would knock his asshole brother down a few pegs, show that you belonged with him by having you scream his name, loud enough for everyone to hear.

He could have you making all the most gorgeous noises, show Lucifer that he could never pleasure you as well as his little brother could. Okay, you know what I think? Shadowhunters urgently need a Child Protective Services or something like that. I realize, of course, that the race of halfangels-demonkillers too cool to take care of their offspring normally, but I'm sick of it and it's really a huge problem that their society doesn't care about children at all.

If they had CPS or at least a culture of caring for children, no one would allow Tatiana, a known crazy woman, to raise Jesse. Like, what the hell, who let a crazy woman who is known for her antinephilim views to raise a child, especially since this child has two uncles with excellent reputations, one of whom could take him in. Didn't anyone want to check the conditions Jesse was living in? If anyone had, he wouldn't have died. And if they had CPS in the world, no one would have even given Tatiana the option of choosing orphans, much less adopting (buying, even better) Grace. None of this bullshit would have happened.

And what about Céline Montclair, for example? Why the fuck would a kid be allowed to literally live in Shadow Market? Why the fuck the Institute refused to shelter her?? WHY THE FUCK SHE WAS RETURNED TO HER PARENTS, WHO HAD BEATEN HER??? So no one asked her why she ran away? Nobody thought "hmmm, why did this little girl run away from her parents? A child doesn't just do something like that, it means there's something wrong in her family"? They just returned her to her parents... No proceedings... just...

And let's remember that after the Dark War there were a lot of orphans left behind. One of them was adopted by Magnus and Alec, but there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of people like Rafael all over the world. Children who live homeless in the Shadow Markets or with questionable people like Tatiana.

I understand that Alec and the rest of Clave-in-Exile don't have time for them yet. The issue of the Cohort is more acute now. However, soon these children will grow up. And that will be a huge problem. It will be a lost generation that does not have any good education or upbringing, but has a very great sense of grievance against the Clave who abandoned them after the war.

It seems to me that the war was the last straw in this whole centuries-old problem and it is now a matter of life and death for the system to solve it.

Obviously, there's nothing they can do about it in TWP. I hope that Alec, because of Rafael and Max he is closer to this situation, will think about it and take steps to solve this problem. Or someone after him.
