"Years and years ago," Mark's bundled nerves sparked when the timing got closer. "All I remember is to grip on, and not let go." Seemed easy enough to remember, but he feared all would be forgotten once things got started.

"Have you ever tried this before?" Kazuha's heart raced with excitement as a giddy giggle escaped her lips. Ever the adventurous spirit, she signed up for wakeboarding the moment she arrived in the Maldives. Now that their appointment time was here, she was only slightly nervous. "I did once when I was a kid, but I'm probably a little bit rusty."

mark liked to keep busy while jinyoung was away. most of his free evenings was to visit old friends. he was invited to one that he would make a quick appearance before leaving to the comfort of his home. he was on his way to grab a drink when he ran into his little brother. “geomie!” he said happily. “should i be guarding the alcohol? are you planning to drink it all? you might have to get charged for that.” he smiled to show that he was joking around. “what are you going to drink? i’ll take whatever you’re getting.”

the day went by much slower than yugyeom liked. between the gym and dance practice; his body was now beginning to feel a little winded, and instead of heading back home to sleep it off, he wanted to stay true to his extroverted ways and head to the home party one of his friends was throwing. one or two hours should be enough, but he knew that he would probably be one of the last ones to leave if he found somebody he was comfortable hanging out with. his body dragged up to his buddy’s place, and he gave a quick hello to those he knew, and made it towards the alcohol they had in the back to hopefully wake up his body. upon entering the room, his eye caught sight of who he would be hanging out with “been here the whole night or are you the security for the alcohol?” yugyeom asked with a big smile.

he smiled in excitement about listening to how many days his husband could come home. “that would be ideal. i would love it if you were able to come and see me. i would put on a great show for you” mark already loved performing, but now he would be motivated knowing that jinyoung was watching from backstage or maybe he could manage to get him snuck in to have a better view. mark smiled when his husband brought up the super shy performance. “i saw the video. you looked so cute up there. i must have watched it a thousand times by now. you were so adorable with the uniform and dancing to new jeans.” mark couldn’t help but give him a few kisses in between. 

their situation wasn’t the best, and mark went a lot of lonely nights lately without the love of his life by his side, but at least he knew that jinyoung was thinking about him as well. “i’ll show you the houses when we leave here. i don’t care where we live. as long as i have you, then that’s what i’ll love.” he tilted jinyoung’s chin slightly to give him a long kiss before he leaned into him while they held hands. he was thankful that the staff was taking their sweet time with their order because he wanted to enjoy the moment a bit longer. 

mark knew that this was only a rough patch in their relationship, and his husband would return to his side before he realized it. they could look back at these times like a bump on the road. he had already been gone for months, and he had made it through it. mark had to remember that jinyoung didn’t do this willingly, and if he could, then he would be at home with him. “you don’t have to apologize. you’re not doing all of this on purpose. i just have to stay strong a little longer and then you won’t be able to get enough of me once you’re home for sure” mark smiled when looking at jinyoung and he gave his cheek a quick peck. 

Jinyoung enjoyed each and every one of his husband's kisses. He wished they were in a more private so they could really enjoy themselves, but he cherished every single moment with his husband. "We can make that happen. I managed to get some vacation hours after performing in that festival for a week. Maybe we can squeeze some time in before your concert in Bangkok? Someone up front will be streaming your concert for me. While I can't be by your side, I can cheer you on from afar" He gently squeezed Mark's hand resisting the urge to pull him in for another kiss. "Did you see my performance? I heard that my dancing to Super Shy went viral."

Jinyoung glanced down at their joined hands for a moment before looking back at his husband, softness showing in his deep brown eyes. "I look at houses all of the time. Thinking about our future together keeps me from getting too lonely. You need to show me some of those houses. I'd love to see them." He rubbed his thumb over the side of Mark's hand as he listened to him talk about the cat. "Our new cat is adorable. I look forward to meeting him when I get some time off."

"Maybe, I could ask for the day before to the day after Halloween off. Since I'm off on weekends, we'd have five days to ourselves. We could dress up our pets....." Jinyoung's excitement dampened when he heard his husband's second comment. While he tried to put on a happy face for the people around him, Jinyoung felt like a part of himself was missing without his husband by his side. Why couldn't his enlistment go by faster? Once again, Jinyoung kissed his husband's hand leaning forward to gently run his fingers through Mark's hair. "I'm so sorry, babe. This is situation is less than ideal, but I'm so proud of you. We can get through this, together."

mark wasn’t much for public display of affection, but things were different when the touch and kisses were coming from a man that he loved. that man also being his husband. the idol couldn’t begin to think of what the public would say nor what their fans would think if that news were to be released. he didn’t care at the moment. all mark was focused on was how right things felt at this minute. he smiled when he felt jinyoung’s full lips on his wrist. he leaned in to give a small peck against jinyoung’s cheek. a small kiss wouldn’t hurt them. to the eyes of the public; this was two members of the same group that were giving each other some love. 

“a few seconds longer wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.” mark stated right before he gave a small look around the restaurant, and leaned in to give jinyoung a few kisses on the lips. they were all too quick for him to enjoy it for long but he knew that someone was bound to come in again so he pried from giving another gentle loving kiss. “i’m hoping that the time will go by much faster, and we can spend all of the day indoors and holding each other.” 

mark adjusted himself on the seat when he heard somebody coming in, and he smiled at the loving picture that his husband painted for them. “that day will come by soon. you look at houses too? i have a few bookmarked because i wanted to show them to you. the cat was because i wanted the place to feel a little lively. it seems so empty when you’re not home.” 

Jinyoung hated being apart from his husband. His enlistment happened shortly after they married which kept them from enjoying time together as newlyweds. The idol squeezed his husband's hands and looked around the room for anyone poking around. When the last customer exited the building, Jinyoung moved over to sit down beside Mark. He brought his husband's hands to his lips placing a gentle kiss on his wrist. Being affectionate in public was very risky, but at the moment Jinyoung was willing to tempt fate for some extra affection with the man he loved. He leaned forward gently kissing his husband and rested his head against his lover's forehead.

"Don't beat yourself up, babe. We're together now, and once I get out we'll never have to be apart." He bumped his nose against Mark's and squeezed his hands. "I know I shouldn't be doing this in public, but give me a couple of more seconds. I miss being close to you. The worst thing about being apart is not being able to hold you in my arms at night. Hugging a pillow doesn't feel right."

The sound of someone entering the Cafe forced Jinyoung to quickly distance himself from his husband. "One day we're going own a house together then we'll be able to snuggle whenever we want. Before I go to bed at night, I distract myself by looking at advertisements for houses, and I think about us settling down with our cat and dog. I adore our new cat. When did you decide to adopt him?

mark’s eyes followed the drink that the barista handed hyungseo and was about to say that it looked like his drink. his mouth opened right when his friend took a sip. he watched silently to see if she would notice then began to laugh. “i was going to warn you but you’re too fast for me. i think he got ours convinced. this coffee looked much clearer than that one. you got yours mixed with vanilla, right?” mark tried to carefully exchange the drinks without accidentally spilling any along the way. “you want to try and take a few more sips? your taste might get used to the flavor”

“i think they gave me the wrong order,” hyunseo squinted her eyes as the pumpkin taste spread in her mouth. had she ordered a fall drink when she ordered? now she couldn’t remember what she told the barista except for ordering a hot beverage. it had been too late for her to return anything at the front after this rate. she would accomplish nothing besides getting a drink thrown, and having to wait an additional ten minutes for a new one after seeing how busy things were at the cafe. “what did you order?” maybe their drinks got mixed up was what she figured. “do you like pumpkin? and i’m not talking about my pet name.” she teased with a small smirk. “but this is pumpkin, and i don’t know if i’m a fan.” she said while she took another long sip.

kai had been one friend that he hadn’t seen in a while. he knew that he was currently serving alongside jinyoung. mark had almost forgotten how the younger idol looked like. he happily thanked the waiter when the man finally came over with their hot beverages. “that would be sweet and very clever. almost like a guardian angel except that you only give yourself good news. will you also try to tell yourself when you’re going to have a bad day?” 

The year seemed to go by in a rush now that he was far from home. Jongin felt like he had to play catch up during the days he had off. Ask around, and see if anything different had occurred. He liked to hang out with friends just the same. He happily sat down with Mark, and was already bouncing his knee from anticipation of his drink arriving to the table any moment now. ❛ My younger self ?  ❜ Jongin took a long time to think. ❛ I want to say something profound like admire every moment but I think I would highlight the best days on the calendar, and not say anything. I won’t give details or any information. That way I know something important is happening that day. ❜

shownu and got7 had gone far back in their friendship with being trainees together. it did break mark’s heart in the beginning that shownu couldn’t be a part of their group but it wasn’t too long before he had become monsta x’s leader. the years hadn’t treated them kindly with them having strict schedules and always missing the chance to hang out. 

“more patience?” mark had to laugh at that. shownu had been known as the calm one even from back through the years. “that would be impossible to see you more zenned out.” he took another sip of his drink. “maybe the same thing you said. have more patience and be more daring. i think that i would be a lot further in life or be a lot happier than i already am.” 

the year had been one that hyunwoo was still getting used to in spite of the fact that they only had a few months left before the end of the year. hyunwoo had lived the last two years serving in the military and going based on their schedule that now he had all of this freedom that he didn’t know what to do with himself. he was still struggling with getting things back into normal, and some days, he struggled. 

“that’s rough,” hyunwoo rubbed his chin while he pondered in his seat. “maybe to have more patience which seems impossible.” he laughed. hyunwoo had been known of being the most patient one in his group. “i have patience, but i get really anxious when i feel like i’ve waited a long time. there are days that i want the answers now instead of later. what about you? what would you say to your younger self?”

mark tried not to be as vocal about missing his members. he didn’t want to think too much about the time that they weren’t spending together or how they were each doing their own projects but mark kept a close eye on what each member was doing. he didn’t have much of a hold on any of them seeing how spread out most of them were but he was proud. he knew that got7 would eventually come together after much separation so he tried not to be too upset. 

his smile while listening to yugyeom slowly faded at the remembrance of how easy things were back in the day. they were overwhelmed and overworked, but they had countless memories being together. “we did have a lot of fun, geomie.” he placed his hand over the maknae’s shoulder and gave it a soft squeeze. “we’ll come back together. we’ll have to be patient a little longer.” 

the last few months had been busy for the maknae. yugyeom had performed at several shows without his brother, and still hadn’t shaken off the gut feeling of missing them on stage. any time that he did have off; yugyeom would make the excuse to visit one of his older brothers to annoy them whether it be for a few minutes or for a simple lunch. luckily, it seemed that he could have a meal with his eldest hyung. 

“aye, hyung,” the youngest one had a whiny tone when the question popped out of his mouth. “i have no idea,” he leaned his head back on the chair as if it would provide him with the knowledge he was searching for. “perhaps to take more photos. i’d like to make photo albums or have countless hours of filming time with us. we had so much fun back then.” he said almost wish some sadness behind his voice.

Mark felt like his love for fashion grew as he got older. Always wanting to look great while also attending as many fashion shows as he could. There was no way he would deny or skip on an event that they invited him on. He also needed to fulfill his empty time now that Jinyoung wasn’t at home and was enlisted instead. He tried not to pay too much attention to it this evening now that he was trying to locate his seat. His eyes lit up seeing who he would be sitting next to. He sat comfortably and waited for the show to begin. “Hey!” He said with a smile. “I did, and thank  you. Your outfit also looks stunning. Love the whole fit. I thought I was going to get sat next to someone that I’ve never met before and I was getting nervous.” 

The YSL fashion show is one of the highlights for fashion week, and Rose ended up being one of the few people with invites to the event. Sitting down in her assigned seat, Rose examines the stage, a small smile forming on her lips. Soon a line of models would be showing off the brand's collection. "I can't wait for the fashion show. YSL has the best models." She glances over at the other person, brown eyes widening in shock. What was Mark doing here of all places? She didn't know much about the other Got7 member besides his status as one of her boyfriend's brothers. Jinyoung also had a peculiar look in his eyes whenever he spoke about the other man. "Hi Mark! Did YSL invite you too? By the way, I love your outfit. You look super sharp."

mark had seen how hard jinyoung was working even when he was in the military. he disliked the leaked photos of him during his shifts in the base from the lack of privacy that his husband was receiving but did feel happy to know that he was doing okay. he still wished that the time would move forward much faster and they could both be at home and enjoying a day in instead of squeezing afternoons like this where it was just a small outing. 

mark’s heart doubled in size listening to his husband. things would have been much different had mark gone with his heart instead of what his dumb brain was telling him. he took jinyoung’s hands over the table into his own. “we have now to make up for it. i wish i wouldn’t have left for as long as i did. i thought i was getting over you and that it was better for me to stay away. i was really wrong.” 

September had been good to him. With another award under his belt and some Mc gigs he had plenty to be happy about. Being able to spend time with his husband was the best feeling in the world. Jinyoung scooted closer to the table examining the other man with a soft expression. The worst part about military life was being apart from his husband.

"I think I would tell myself to be more honest about my feelings, and be true to myself. In the past I used to hide parts of myself because I feared rejection from others. It made me very depressed." Jinyoung placed his hands onto the table. Over the past two years he had grown as a person. Now he found himself in a better place mentally. "And I wish I told you about my feelings earlier. What would you tell your younger self."

it was still odd to run into groups that were involved with the former label mark had been a part of. mark never knew if he should avoid talking business or if enough time had passed that he could comfortably ask about how work had treated them. mark did hope that jyp had changed since got7 decided to change labels, but one could never know what was happening behind closed doors. 

mark sympathized by not muttering a word. he didn’t want to add fuel to the fire but he could recognize pain when he heard it. mark gave a good glance around the room to make sure that there had been no one spying into their conversation. “you guys are doing great. i’ve seen how talented you all are, and i know your fans see it too. you shouldn’t be too hard on yourselves, and you definitely shouldn’t listen to him.” 

Changbin can't believe that he's sitting in front of one of his former label mates. He deeply respected and admired Got7, and he felt kind of hurt when the group chose to leave JYP. Stray Kids busy schedule prevented him from spending time with the other men before they went away. The hyperactive boy really hoped that he could keep himself together after drinking coffee.

"Hummm....I'd tell myself to stand up to the old man JYP. JYP, well ,you know, the guy can be a bit of an asshole." Changbin glances around to see if anyone is listening into their conversation before he continues speaking. "The guy is a major perfectionist. sometimes I would go back into my room and cry after hearing the things he said about me. JYP can sing and dance. He can't rap. I should have told him to back off of me and my friends."

september had started off with a bang once his new release came out following with his 30th birthday. it didn’t take long when a surprising trip to jeju happened, and he once again felt like he was living happily. the year kept strong, and he had high hopes that it would end just the same. happy, loved, and hopeful for a bright future with his loved ones. 

“if you could go back and say something to your younger self, what would it be?” mark wondered as he sat with company while they awaited their coffee orders together.

Kai: The military gives us limited time with our phones, and I'm not complaining about that. Kai: I'm complaining that I spend much of my phone time looking for apps to play. Kai: I don't want to be known for the game guy around here ㅠㅠ. So I'm texting you to make it seem like I have friends ㅋㅋ @seoulessrp
