Demon zombies Au again:

Bi-Han and Kuai Liang coming back from their [separate] missions. Bi-Han is outside Kuai Liang’s cell at the Lin Kuei

Bi-Han: Hey…… Kuai Liang, it’s me

Kuai Liang, barely able to mumble words out: Bee……

Bi-Han smiles sadly but continues: Yeah it’s me…. Bee, I got something for you while I was out!

Kuai Liang looks at him expressionless as Bi-Han takes something out of his bag, a little dragon plushie that has a bit of grime on it

Bi-Han: I know it’s dirty bht we can wash it and-oh

Kuai Liang snatching it and holding it close to him while he is in his cell

T-T

Okay but then after Kuai Liang goes missing, that plushie is all Bi-Han has left, and it's small enough that he can take it with him everywhere

One day, he's on mission and loses his pack, the plushie with it

And Hanzo finds it.

Hanzo, looking through the pack back at the Shirai Ryu compound: Huh, that's odd

Harumi: A plushie?

Hanzo: Yeah....most soldiers don't waste space for that sort of thing, they leave it at home, where it's safe

Harumi: Poor guy, must be losing his mind over it

Hanzo: Yeah

Kuai Liang walks in, having a decent amount of freedom around the lab now that he's getting better, and sees the plushie

Kuai Liang: Bi-Han?

Harumi and Hanzo stare at him in shock

Harumi: Has his voice ever been that clear before?

Hanzo: No

Harumi takes the plushie and offers it to Kuai Liang: Do you know who this belongs to?

Kuai Liang nods, tapping his chest

Harumi: It's yours? Where did you get it?

Kuai Liang, taking the offered plushie and holding it to his chest: Bi-Han.

Hanzo: Who's Bi-Han?

Kuai Liang: Broth- Bro-

Kuai Liang starts coughing up blood, something that happens when he talks too much

Hanzo: Your brother?

Kuai Liang nods as Harumi helps him sit down

Harumi: Do you want us to try and contact him? Tell him you're okay?

Kuai Liang, puppy dog eyes: Please

Hanzo grabs his pack and heads for the door: I found that right before I came back, if I hurry, I might be able to catch him

okay, okay, so!! if the kagebros got separated from reigen and teru when mob is still fine, i imagine that their reunion would be hEARTWRENCHING also, i'm a bit curious, would mob still be able to recognize teru and reigen? or would he thought about them as strangers?

(tbh, following your lore, i imagine mob would act a similarly like nezuko from demon slayer? but instead of little hums, his zombie sounds would more like babbling and incoherent mumbles :"D)

the reunion is fuckin AWFUL man it's SO gut-wrenching. both reigen and teru feared this for Months while looking for the brothers; pretty much the worst case scenario was that mob or ritsu or Both turned—a lot of humans prefer death over being a zombie any day, so the idea of ritsu or mob having to go through that and wander around aimlessly until starvation or smth else gets them,,,

it hurts them so much to think about. teru forces himself not to dwell on it and he's pretty good at that but reigen thinks abt it a lot and he's honestly not sure what scenario is worse. best case is that they're both alive and unturned, obviously, but what's the worst case? you'd think it's both of them getting killed, or turning, but reigen also knows that if One of them got killed/turned, the other would probably lose their mind, especially if they had to watch. the fact that they're kids makes this all three times worse and reigen has to act like he's Not worrying himself sick over the brothers while he tries to keep teru in high spirits

the reunion itself is rly fuckin gut-wrenching for them. they see mob from afar, wandered off just a bit from ritsu and tome who are just around the bend looting a place, and they book it bc ofc they do, it's mob!! but then they see how pale he is, and when he turns around they don't see that light in his eyes that's usually there and the red is dulled and dead looking,, teru almost moves in for a hug before he realizes mob looks vastly different when he Rly takes him in, and mob doesn't rly react too much besides staring at them blankly. the obvious answer is almost too horrifying to even consider, so it takes them a minute to rly,,realize what's going on

tome comes around the bend and shouts, cuz when humans and zombies mix it's usually guns pointed at zombie heads. ritsu comes running out after her and when he sees reigen and teru his thoughts go, in order: holy shit is that reigen and tero ohmygod oh my god they're alive they're alive ohmy god i could fucking cry, and ohmy god they see shige ohno oh no oh no

ritsu sounds like a lunatic when he pulls mob away from them on instinct and says that he's safe to be around and that he's "still him" and he's "not gone" and he's very aware of that. he's very, intimately aware that he sounds fuckin crazy, bc ofc he does, this is what all the crazy people in zombie movies sound like. but he doesn't care, he doesn't care if reigen or teru dismiss him as nuts—he has to make them understand that his brother is still in there somewhere

and yeah, they both kinda think that ritsu's lost his marbles a little bit, but while teru is focused on that and the fact that mob doesn't look like he's rly tuned into Anything that's happening rn, reigen is a bit more focused on the fact that both ritsu and mob look awful? they're both very skinny and very dirty, obviously barely scraping by. they're cut up and ritsu's jacket is basically blood and dirt with a little bit of green fabric mixed in. and just by the look in ritsu's eyes, reigen can tell, man ... reigen can tell ritsu is like.not okay at this point he's kinda lost it.

i think the most painful thing about this whole reunion in general is that later that night, when reigen and teru r finally like ok we get it he's,, he's still mob. we believe you (they want to believe him... [they Do believe him, later, wholeheartedly]) and they settle down someplace safe, teru asks how long mob's been like this. and ritsu has to answer "since we got separated" and they both have that to stew over while everybody else sleeps

they realize that ritsu likely watched mob turn, watched the entire process, and that process takes a long time. it's at least a week of deteriorating motor functions and cognitive skill, and the fact that ritsu stayed for that to keep mob company is .ough. and it doesn't end there bc ritsu obviously stayed after that too

given how these things usually go, ritsu probably did think about killing mob. it probably did cross his mind, bc that's basically what everybody's been told to do. kill them before they have a chance to do any more damage. and it's obvious that ritsu did not have it in him

ritsu not only did not have it in him to kill him, he didn't even have it in him to leave him there. the kid fucking took him with him. a zombie. and he's somehow made it work, for months. and the next few days are filled with watching him still treat mob like a brother and take care of him and gently steer him away from a bird he tries to follow down the wrong street.ritsu is as gentle and kind as he's ever been with his brother. and even tho they're both hungry and tired and barely making it, ritsu is doing a rly good job taking care of mob with what he's been given

the kid obviously wholeheartedly believes in a cure and that mob is still There. he's gone through the trouble to take care of him, and the grief of continuously seeing a loved one that many would consider effectively dead, to get him that cure. to get him his brother back. and mob doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress, so reigen and teru think that this path ritsu has followed is probably infinitely kinder than the mercy kill method they've been taught to do

i think they have a new respect for ritsu, after that reunion

Have a little brain worm, on me. A human is saved by an incubus during a zombie apocalypse. Inspired by this post, though different characters and slightly different world building will be featured. I'll tag Pinnie and do up a proper post etc if anyone wants to continue reading. But here's a lil prologue.

300 words. Content warnings: starvation, and very light discussion of suicide

It has been three weeks since Veron fed. 

Three weeks since he last saw another living soul. Six weeks since the portals to Infernus were barred shut. Seven since day zero.  

If he ever met the cursed creature who’d started this outbreak – who'd manufactured this necrotic plague – witting or not: he’d throttle them. Probably. If they survived his hunger.  

But honestly, tracking them down isn’t really in his wheelhouse. He can barely find a meal, let alone the harbinger of the apocalypse.  

He’s going to starve.  

The only survivors left in the city would be hunkered down in too small rooms, behind barricades and living off dwindling supplies. It wouldn’t surprise him if the remaining humans fell to starvation and thirst, rather than brave the hordes outside. If the desperate took their own lives, rather than letting time take them. 

He’d considered it. Of course he had. You don’t live through the start of an apocalypse without considering all your options.  

But ultimately, he couldn’t. He’d worked too hard. Lived through too much shit. Was too damn stubborn to give up at this point. Even as pickings grow slimmer. 

He stops on an overpass. Takes a moment to survey the nearby buildings. Ignores the undead stragglers outside, searching windows instead for signs of life. Movement, distress messages, anything.  

Nothing from the windows.  

But there is one building in his line of sight that is teeming with unlife. Husks milling outside the ground floor. Inside it too – if he squints he can just make out the shattered windows, and the stumbling silhouettes from within.  

They’re slow. Almost placid. Like whatever had drawn them to the area had long since stopped holding their interest. But you don’t get a horde of that size for no reason. 

Maybe, just maybe, there’s somebody still alive in there. Somebody who’d be very grateful if Veron showed up; impervious to the plague and ready to swoop in and play the hero.  

He glides down from the overpass, and heads towards the building.

For the Demon Zombies Au, Bi-Han meets Frost

Sektor, seeing a bitemark on her arm: What the fuck?! You're infected?!

Frost: No! I'm not, I'm immune!

Sektor, pointing his flamethrower at her: Bullshit, no one's immune

Bi-Han moves to stand between the two

Sektor: Out of the way!

Bi-Han: No. Look at that bite, Sektor, it's days old

Sektor: And?

Bi-Han: And nobody takes that long to turn!! She says she's immune, maybe she's right. If we want a cure we should at least check

Sektor, grinning maliciously: Who said we wanted a cure?

Bi-Han, turning to push Frost out of the way as Sektor fires: RUN!

“Nemi’?” A knock on his door woke him up. Sanemi pushed himself up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

“What?”

His door opened a crack, letting in the smallest sliver of light. There was a hesitant moment before Genya spoke again. “I think I might be sick.”

Shit. “Shit.” Sanemi pushed his covers off and got out of bed, leaving behind his last shreds of grogginess. “You check your temperature?”

”I couldn’t find the thermometer.” Sanemi pulled the door open all the way and didn’t curse again because that wouldn’t be productive, even if Genya really did look like shit. Even in the low light of the hallway he could make out his flushed face and hear his raspy breaths. Genya was curled into himself, wrapped in his comforter and Sanemi was blindsided by the memory of Genya at six years old doing the same thing. Genya had always come to him first when he was sick or hurt. (With the exception of a few years in between everything going to shit, but Sanemi didn’t like to think about that when he didn’t have to.)

“I’ll find it.” He lays a palm over his brothers forehead and fuck yeah that was definitely a fever. “You shouldn’t be out of bed anyway, you’re burning up.”

Genya curled away from him to cough into an elbow. When he had enough breath back he said, “You yelled at me the last time I didn’t tell you right away and now you’re upset when I do. Make up your mind.”

The fucking additued on this kid. “You’re lucky you look like shit, now get.” He pushed Genya gently in the direction of his room. “I’ll be right there.”

Genya did as he was told for once and started to shuffle away, only stopping long enough to ask, “Water?”

“Yes, I’ll bring you water.”

“Okay.” And the shuffling continued, until Genya’s door closed behind him.

Reassured that Genya wasn’t going to collapse in the hallway, he turned to hunt down the damn thermometer, get some water and call both of them out of school for the day.

I bought a notebook with brown pages and I really like it because it makes it look old uwu So, I wanted to draw zenitsu or something related to demon Slayer and I wanted to draw zombies, and... This came out uwu But MY MOTHER! I had forgotten how difficult it is to take photos of your drawings in traditional ;; You have to take care of the lighting, the angle, etc, etc, etc... Sorry if it didn't come out straight, I did what I could 😔
