What would the interaction between Isobel and Darcy Daniels and, Sky and Beatrix be like?

Beatrix is flat out starved for any connection and she would want to make it work. Bea's a survivor and if she has to shut her eyes to some blatant and angry red flags? Then so be it. She sees Isobel and Darcy manipulating and she sees them lying and she knows they're doing it to her too, but she's so tired of being alone, of looking over her shoulder, so she lets them.

I don't think for a second Beatrix could be fooled, but I do think she's stubborn enough to shove her head in the dirt and pretend it's perfectly fine.

Sky in the other hand hates change and hates news. He'd hate the twins and would hate how Beatrix folds under them and would want to rattle Bea like a toy, snap her out of this.

Truth is Sky is Beatrix's brother, not by blood, not by duty, but by fate. Negatives of each other. She wants two sisters, but I do think her brother would have to pull through and get past his hatred, slap Beatrix into seeing those sisters are gonna eat people alive (bonus point if it's Stella).

Isobel sees Sky and salivates. Prince charming, golden retriever looking fella, she thinks he's a himbo and she's ready to mice him.

Darcy is throughly uninterested by Sky, but she's interested in Riven (or rather, she's interested in what Beatrix has. Wear your skin as a coat kinda vibes).

Monster Hunt: An Evil Without An End

Lady Talmere was a monster long before she rose from her grave, having taken to the recreational murder of commoners the way that others of her social class took to falconry or painting. Killing was a hobby for her, a privilege of her aristocratic birth that she could indulge while others were forced to work for a living. She chose her victims purely for the fact that it was easy to make them disappear: her country estates were far from prying eyes, her demanding nature excused the high turnover rate in her staff. She employed those with nowhere else to go, to hardworn by life to ask questions, and when complications did occur it was so easy to wriggle out of them by charming or greasing the palms of the local magistrates .

It was a true injustice that Lady Talmere died happy and of old age, moreso that her wretched spirit was not claimed by some devil and dragged to hell, instead rising some decades later as a mohrg. While most of her old self has rotten away, Talmere still possesses her love of killing and scene of digression, prefering targets that will go unnoticed. To make matters worse Talmere is now prone to reanimating her victims with the parasitic worm that makes up part of her undead corpus, simultaneously creating a new minion while getting rid of the evidence.

Adventure Hooks:

In recent weeks rumours are beginning to spread about the "Tattergaunt", a thing that wanders the night preying on lone travellers and isolated homesteads. The authorities are skeptical and have yet to post a bounty, suspecting beasts or even slavers given the lack of remains left behind. It's only when the party stumble into some of those remains on the side of the road, reanimated, worm bloated, and dragging another corpse that the picture becomes clear.

Talmere is having her zombie minions clean up after her, stashing away the undead that are about to slip out of her control in the hopes that no one will find them. Her choice of using isolated locations for these zombie stockpiles makes for a great random dungeon encounter.

The party may find themselves tasked with investigating a haunting at Talmere manor, inadvertently begun when the spirits of the lady's victims sensed that she'd risen. Unable to communicate through any means other than terrifying vision or violent poltergeist activity, the spirits long to be put to rest, and don't care how much they have to terrify or imperil the manor's mortal occupants in order to get that message across.

Challenges & Complications:

The old groundskeepeper served Lady Talmere in the final years of her life. Though he was only a boy he assisted the previous groundskeeper in all his tasks, which meant he also helped dispose of quite a number of bodies in the first few years of his employment. Riven by guilt and fear of punishment, he'll point the party in the right direction while keeping mostly to himself. However, Interrogating the old man or secretly leafing through his journals might provide the party a vital clue.

Though they want the haunting dealt with, Lady Talmere's descendants are just as prideful as any noble family and won't stand for their ancestor's honour to be besmirched no matter how true the accusations are. The party could make powerful enemies should they go blabbing about the old woman's crimes to the commons, or worse yet the local temple.

Likewise resistant to the investigation is the demon that's been lurking in the Talmere family estate for generations. It didn't corrupt the lady or drive her to violence, merely fed off the injustice of her kills and used it's power to ensure she was a little less likely to be caught. Every body burned to ash in the estate's furnace was a sacrifice on it's altar, and it seemed only reasonable to return the favour by seeding her body with the spark of unlife as she lay on her deathbed. If the party investigate well enough to disturb the demon they will soon find Lady Talmere's corpse knocking on the door of her own home with a small army of undead at her back, ready to massacre anyone inside, including her decendants, just for the thrill of it.

As her life (and subsequent unlife) suggests, Lady Talmere has a knack for escaping punishment. Any time she is slain, her mind transfers to another of her worm-animated undead, beginning a process of transforming it into a mohrg. As such she always keeps a few of her undead in reserve, scattered about the countryside or mixed in with those stockpiled zombies that've slipped her control. Once she's "settled in" to a new body she can start making more zombies provided she finds someone to kill, meaning unless the party stikes her hard and fast (ideally getting rid of her stockpiles before fighting her) she'll always be one murderspree away from cheating death again.

As she exists as an emboyment of moral and cosmic injustice, it seems only right that a weapon of true justice would be Lady Talmere's end. If they haven't already gone searching for divine aid, Midway through their troubles the party is approached by a temple scholar dedicated to the goddess Erathis, who has received a vision compelling him to help the party and lead them to a weapon wielded by a saint of the lawbearer herself. This might be as easy as swearing an oath on the saint's tomb, or as dangerous as tracking down where the stolen relic was hidden by the goddess's enemies.

More popular ships have been launched with a lot less (Sett/Aphelios comes to mind, or Zac/Riven), so it's not that it came out of nowhere so much as it is a pairing of an extremely cute uwu smol bean with a cool, composed edgelord swordguy and that makes for a naturally compelling dynamic.

i think the ahamkara should be more like the demons in dm. like FUCK. every time i get a panel about them im like. WHAT if riven was like this. what if being fed upon by an ahamkara was as violent and intimate and violating as the way kui ryoko draws it. an ahamkara granting your wish should feel like that panel where the demon is feeding on mithrun. i dont have any extrapolation to add im just putting those panels in a snowglobe with the TTP line ("IMAGINE HOW SHE FEASTED UPON YOU") and the line from WQCE ("I laugh much less since that day. But I am more content.") and rattling it around and staring at it with macabre fascination.

A Mini Rant about Yasuo’s Lore and what could be done with it

There were so many missed opportunities here and examples Riot could have drawn from, and I’m gonna lay it out.

The main problem is that Yasuo’s story premise was based on him being ‘The Unforgiven’, and through progressing his story via Confessions of a Broken Blade and Yone’s return, in order to have that same conceit he can never fully forgive himself, and therefore literally every story arc he has gotten since Spirit Blossom had been him learning to forgive himself again and again and again. Ruined King did it, the Yasuold skin is implying it, Riot won’t let him do anything else.

And I just. Ok there are ways to do this and I think the premium example to point to is Graves.

Graves was also released with a specific concept; he was hunting Twisted Fate for revenge. That was his whole thing. And in Burning Tides, he actually confronts Twisted Fate and moves his story forward. Riot would’ve been arguably more justified in keeping Grave’s lore state the same than in Yasuo’s case, but no; he and Twisted Fate legitimately start working together again and their story permanently moves forwards after that. And just - Yone’s release and the whole Spirit Blossom event was PERFECT to do that for Yasuo.

Imagine if Yasuo decided to hunt the Azakana with his brother - maybe in an effort to redeem himself in his own eyes even if Yone doesn’t want him dead, maybe to help his brother learn what he’s become, there’s many reasons why he would do this. Imagine a Demon Hunter Yasuo lore skin that shows him in a better mental place, travelling alongside Yone killing Azakana. Honestly you could make that happen in current lore - it would not be hard to have the brothers meet each other again. But just - do ANYTHING with him, have Yone’s return MEAN something. Yasuo is a popular champion and a lore update like that could be a great marketing ploy as well, if we’re also thinking from the business side of things.

Another option would’ve EASILY been giving him a Sentinel skin. The event kind of sucked, yes, but there was legitimate set-up for him to be there. As it is, he returns Braum to the Freljord and then goes to free Riven… only for the Sentinels to get there first. The Sentinels could’ve burst in mid-jailbreak with both Yasuo and Riven there, and there’s no reason for Yasuo NOT to join them if that happens. Again, missed lore skin potential for a popular champion (I do not count Sea Dog Yasuo, that’s just… ok why? Sentinel would’ve been a better fit), he would’ve been an interesting personality to add to the mix, and if he returns with Riven to their village at the end of it, it could’ve been an ACTUAL book-end to his character arc with him CHOOSING to return to his hometown instead of staying the wanderer.

Either of these could’ve actually done shit with him but. Eh. Anyways I have brainrot so I may actually end up drawing either a Sentinel or Demon Hunter Yasuo for the fun of it. Probably Demon Hunter, I have a way you could theoretically get him to that point from his current place in the story so. Anyway.

Could you tell us about the witch and witch hunter fic!

Well, like many other of my ideas, it started when I watched a review for a book that executed the witch x witch hunter premise (I think) badly. So naturally, I went "I can do it better!" only to take the very basic premise and run with it.

The idea is that Valtor was "raised" (read: held captive (just like Rapunzel)) by a witch (Belladonna) until he killed her and completed a ritual that transferred her ability to do magic to him. However, he wouldn't be classified as a witch but as a demon instead due to the specifics of the ritual. He became a witch hunter because he wanted to get rid of the other members of Belladonna's coven. However, looking into it, it turned out to be a huge, international organization that is constantly recruiting new members by making use of the current political climate.

Because of the Coven, all witches are perceived as a threat so witch hunting is completely out of control. The Coven only pours oil into the fire to force more and more witches to seek the protection that only they can grant and thus expand and become even more powerful. There are few independent witches that haven't joined them yet and they're all in hiding to avoid being executed.

Because of the reach and scope of the Coven, Valtor figured he cannot destroy them alone. He will need more resources so he decided to join the most openly witchphobic kingdom, which would be Eraklyon. He cannot stand Erendor but sacrifices have to be made for the sake of hia goal. He's pretending that his magic isn't dark and due to his efficiency, Samara is pretending to buy that even though some people in court are openly suspicious of him. However, despite his effectiveness, the Coven remains ever elusive.

Enter Griffin, who was on track to steal something important from Eraklyon (I haven't figured out all the details yet). She would have handled any other witch hunter but the uniqueness of Valtor's abilities proves to be too much for her and she gets captured. She gets offered a deal, however. The Crown has designed a new plan for infiltrating the Coven. Griffin accepts, not so much for herself as much as because of her mother who's afflicted with a magical disease and needs intervention from Griffin's magic to continue living. That is a secret, however, that Griffin is trying to keep. She does marry Valtor and the two of them travel to Andros where they are supposed to get help from Crown Princess Layla and her own inside man that has already joined the Coven - Riven. The Coven is full of young magic users and is led by the Trix (who may or may not be possessed by the Ancestral Witches or are their reincarnations - I haven't decided yet).

I haven't figured out the rest yet but the Coven has plans for Domino's Dragon Fire (which incidentally, Valtor's power is identical to because the ritual he used to gain magic powers allowed him to pick any kind of power he wanted and he chose the one Belladonna was after - to spite her). Griffin and Valtor are, of course, going to fall in love over the course of their mission and uncover each other's secrets to leave them at a precarious position once the mission is over since it's unclear what Griffin's fate will be. No one promised her freedom after the end of the assignment. In fact, their most efficient witch hunter will be more useful without being married to a witch.

Monsterhunt: Thousandfold Sorrows

The hardest part of moving on is finding the way forward

A spirit of the plane of mirrors, Thousandfold Sorrows hunts those riven by great grief and loss, harrowing them with visions of a moment from their past from which they are unable to move on. Pain, shame, false hope, as the victim's mind is fractured by a multitude of emotions reality starts to go with it: different versions of their life playing out the possibility of what could've been.

Adventure Hooks:

A tragic cart accident goes even more awry as an out of control wagon runs into a girl walking down a busy market street who proceeds to shatter into thousands of mirrored shards infront of all the onlookers, horrifying the boy she was out on the town with. Stranger yet, the girl's description matches that of a young woman who went missing from her job at an antique store some weeks ago, as well as numerous other incidents all around the city. As it turns out, the shopgirl has fallen victim to Thousandfold Sorrows while she was lamenting wasting her youth in the dusty old shop instead of out there living life. Now she wanders the labyrinth of the mirror dimension, and the only way to get her back is to convince one of the impulsive duplicates that've slipped free in the previous days to take her place.

Seeking to undo the mistakes of the past, an aging mage has summoned Thousandfold Sorrows to ruminate on a tragedy from his youth, where the lives of his closest friends were sacrificed in the process of averting a magical disaster that would have ravaged the countryside. Increasingly desperate to know if he really did make the right choice, the mage has had Thousandfold sorrows run through endless permutations of events, eventually causing a chain-reaction of mirror magic that's split the local area (and nearby village) into three time lines: The present, the idealistic past, and an alternate version of events ravaged by wild magic. Caught in the middle, the party must discern the boundaries between truth and illusion and overcome paradoxical hazards in order to set the land right once again.

Like many creatures of the mirror dimension, Thousandfold Sorrows does not bear explicit ill towards those it haunts, instead existing in a state of perpetual reflection from a very limited viewpoint. It can communicate only through flawed reccolection, asking questions (sometimes radically inappropriate ones) about what its quarry WANTS as it desires to understand. One could perhaps say that it is hyperempathic but when that empathy is focused on something the quarry would really rather be left alone, conflict and tragedy will invariably ensue.

For the asker: Using Thousandfold Sorrows as a warlock patron will require your character to create a rough outline of their character and something tragic in their past, then have the mirror spirit relfect it back at them over and over and over as it tries to empathise. As for actual stats, I'd recommend searching 3rd party mirror magic and the unearthed arcana subreddit.

If you're not feeling particularly mirror focused, I could also recommend a number of possible patrons:
