Alastor doesn't get it.

Yes, I know Alastor is only confirmed Ace but the way Viv has danced around the confirmation that he's Aro for years now (She's literally said she knows the answer but won't reveal it) to me means he's definitely aro too. Do not leave a comment telling me that he's only ace and I used the wrong flag, I will tell you to read the description in a not nice way. Anyway god Rosie is complicated to draw how do the animators on the show do it- but she is one of my favorite character designs in the show. It's so appealing and fits her time. Also Rosie is up there with my favorite characters.

I got the idea for this comic when I got my lesbian flag a few years ago and my little brother (who is 11 years younger then me) saw it and just asked me "What country is that?" Which was both the cutest and funniest fucking thing ever. I thought of it recently and thought "This is perfect for Alastor,"

I also really like the idea of having a character who's queer but doesn't know that they're queer. It makes sense for Alastor as a character due to the time he was born in, and his refusal to use modern technology even after his death in hell. Of course he doesn't know wtf aro/ace is or means and that he is aro/ace himself. Honsetly the majority of people in the modern day don't even know what it means. Even within the queer community.

No joke, my first identity was asexual because I was like "Well I don't have any attraction to boys so I must be ace" ...i didn't even realize I liked girls yet. Didn't even consider it lmao. Much later I found out im demiaro/demiace so me identifying as aro back when I was 12 made sense in the long run LOL.

DEMI-ACE COMICS: “TOUCH AVERSION”

Of course, no-one can speak for everyone, but this is a pretty good summary. For more information, check the cut below!

Touch aversion - the opposite of skin hunger - is when someone experiences a desire for personal isolation and doesn’t want to experience an excess of contact. They enjoy their space, and sometimes it’s even a requirement for their own personal mental health. Touch aversion affects different people in different ways, both physically, emotionally, psychologically, and mentally (yes those last three are all seperate).

Touch aversion is commonly found in Asexual Spectrum people, Autism Spectrum people, sexual and physical assault victims, people with anxiety or PTSD, and people with trust problems. People that do not fall under any of these labels can be touch averse; people that fall under these labels do not have to be touch averse. Like all statisitics, this is just where it crops up most commonly, and it makes sense.

Some forms of touch aversion are not inherent, but are traumas inflicted by past experiences. Like all trauma, it can be treated with patience, therapy (good therapy, not manipulative bs therapy), and tiny steps forward.

BUT! Not all forms of touch aversion are trauma-based. Some are inherent, particularly in the case of Asexual and Autistic pals. These identities experience touch-aversion as a facet of the identity. Therapy could lessen its influence, but it won’t make it go away. It’ll probably only make the person kind-of unhappy. In cases where touch aversion is inherent and not traumatic, it’s simply a matter of communicating with your t-a buddy and understanding boundaries. Everyone has boundaries. T-a people’s boundaries are just.... more pronounced.

It’s perfectly fine if you manage to grow out of your touch aversion. It’s perfectly fine if you’ve been touch averse for months, years, and even decades. What’s NOT fine is making someone uncomfortable because you believe that ‘nobody doesn’t like being touched’ or ‘I reserve the right to touch X because I’m X’s Y’. That’s insensitive and rude. And as I tend to preach and practice here--

Respect above all is what makes a community work.

A Foreword:

Hello! I’m Mod Lyca, currently the only operator on this blog. Most of the comics you’ll see at the beginning feature me as the protagonist, and for good reason: I’m demisexual!

If you ever have questions about asexuality, demisexuality, aromanticism, demiromanticism, touch aversion, or even about me, feel free to send in an ask! (Keep in mind that I am reasonably reserved about names/locations and will protect the identities of my fellow “comic characters” with my own life).

If you ever feel like sending negativity or hate-mail because you don’t agree with asexuality, I recommend you leave my blog. Why are you even here if you don’t like it? I’m all for educating the public on Ace Stuff, but if you’re sending hate-mail, I don’t really think you’re in a Learning-Mood-Mindset at the moment. Try coming back later when you’re ready to be a positive influence!
