DekuLissa Angst AU Headcanons

In this AU, Melissa was born not only quirkless but also with a form of cardiomyopathy, one that could kill her in the near future.

By the time the events of the Two Heroes movie take place in this AU, Melissa takes plenty of medication for her condition to try to live a relatively normal life. She also keeps EpiPens (epinephrine) with her (at the request of her doctors) in case her heart begins to fail.

When she meets Izuku Midoriya (AKA Deku), the two become friends almost immediately as they bond over the fact that they were born quirkless.

As Izuku becomes aware of Melissa's condition, he understandably worries about her health.

As the events of the movie unfold in this AU, Melissa becomes noticeably more and more out of breath and overworked.

When she learns truth that her father David hired Wolfram and she cries her heart out...that did it.

BA-BUMP! BA-BUMP! BA-BUMP!

Melissa's heart starts to give out and she collapses to the floor, gasping for air. Her body briefly spasms and seizes up before stopping altogether.

Izuku immediately rushes to Melissa's side to see if she's alright, just in time to hear the girl's heart beat irregularly before stopping entirely.

Without hesitation or thinking, Izuku began performing CPR on Melissa, trying and seemingly failing to restart her failing heart.

As a last resort, Izuku uses one of Melissa's EpiPens and injects it into her chest.

Suddenly, Melissa gasps for air and her body spasms, her newly revived heart pumping rapidly from the adrenaline.

As Melissa tries to catch her breath, Izuku hugs her, tearfully telling to not leave him like that again.

After the events of the movie in this AU, Melissa reluctantly agrees to undergo a surgery to replace her heart and (hopefully) live a relatively normal life with Izuku, the one who saved her life.

Prompt/Title - Japanese Horror Movies

Cold autumn wind whistled outside Midoriya’s apartment. It was October 31st - so what better to do than to cuddle with your girlfriend and watch classic American horror movies?

“What do you want to watch now?” Melissa held the TV remote in her hands, waiting for her boyfriend to fire a suggestion.

“What have we watched so far?”

“Too much to count,” Melissa didn’t want to think about the incredulous amount of time they had spent watching movies.

Midoriya thought for a moment as he stretched the hours of binge watching out of him. “As much as I love your American movies, why don’t we watch some of mine?”

“You have horror movies?”

“Not just any horror movies - the scariest Japanese horror movies of all time!!”

Melissa laughed, “Okay, let’s see if they’re as scary as you say they are.”

Midoriya shuffled through his collection of DVDs and shoved one in the DVD player.

“Prepare yourself…” he chuckled.

—LATER—

The living room was dark, which was good, because then Midoriya couldn’t see Melissa’s petrified face. But it also didn’t matter, because she clung to him like Velcro anyway.

Midoriya held back a laugh, “are you scared?”

“Maybe…” admitted Melissa. “I hate this movie…”

Midoriya pet the back of her hair, “Ju-On is a classic.”

She scoffed, “so is IT.”

He laughed at her quip and pulled her close. “Don’t worry, it’s all fiction anyway.”

As the movie moved to its credits, bold, white words stood out from the dark background:

Melissa despite how dimly aware she was and how close to death she was heard the plea from her creator/lover and despite the dark whisper in her mind telling her to let go and accept the cold embrace of death...mustered up all of her willpower to fight on for life. Not for her sake but for Izuku sake.

Izuku felt his own cheeks turning red, similar to the shade of their fellow hero Red Riot. Midoriya felt happy, with the two women he loved so much. He had to inform his mom about the proposal, who fully supported the relationship. The One for All User kissed both of his beloveds, who would soon be his wives.

My Hero Academia. Midoriya and Uraraka dynamic is cute but it isn't my favorite Midoriya ship. Two Heroes got me really into Dekulissa and some great fanfiction/fanart got me shipping Midoriya x Mina.
