People posting about how emet selch gets no rest and it's hilarious from the perspective of like. His friend or a lover and whatnot, what most people make their characters relationship to him be, and it's very funny.
And I'm laughing my ass off bc taking my own character in that is like 'remember Emet, being a parent is a Permanent Decision :)'

The Little Christmas Angel (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Bob have finally welcomed a precious little angel on Christmas Eve and your older children couldn't be happier
Notes: This was the song that inspired this fic along with a bunch of others, I tried really hard not to cry when listening to it but it's just so perfect for this (lol)
Tagging: @floydsmuse @kmc1989
He was so tiny and yet so perfect.
Bob could barely see the tiny little face hidden by his soft Irish knit blanket and the little fingers that poked over the edge. The baby's eyes were shut and his little tufts of dark blonde hair were the only other things he could see amidst the threads.
Rudy James Floyd had been born at home on Christmas Eve, just shortly after you and Bob had gotten back from Christmas Mass at the Navy Chapel in town. Thankfully, Reagan had come home before you to take the rib roast out of the oven. You and Bob would have been screwed if she had been late.
It wasn't long at all, only a few hours, before you and Bob had come face to face with the tiny little boy you had both created together. He was so tiny that you and Bob were afraid he had been born too early, but his sister had said otherwise, that he was right on time and absolutely perfect.
You happily gazed at your husband sitting in the rocker with Rudy, the dim glow of the bedroom lamp leaving a soft glow throughout the room as the snow fell heavily outside. You felt a little sorry Bob hadn't been able to change out of his white dress shirt and black pants, yet the sight of him with your son finally in his arms filled you with a warmth from head to toe regardless.
Rudy began to whimper, his tiny hand balling into a fist near his mouth. "Shhhhh, lovebug," Bob whispered. "I know.....I know you're tired, but so isn't Momma. She went through alot to get you here, you know."
You laughed a little when Bob turned his attention to you. "I thought you were asleep Mrs. Floyd," he said with a side eye.
"Joke's on you, I've been awake this whole time," you chuckled.
Bob rose from the rocker with Rudy in his arms and crawled into bed beside you. "Mom and Dad should be bringing the others back for dinner soon," he said.
"I thought they were already over there," you answered.
Bob nodded, realizing his mistake.
You snuggled against him, kissing the crown of your son's head. Sleep soon took you both and you didn't wake until close to seven-thirty the next morning when the padding of little feet at the threshold of your bedroom door, woke you both up.
"Shhhhhhh, you guys be quiet ok?" Joe warned them.
Auggie, Patrick and Deidre all quietly tiptoed into your room to hug and kiss you and to wish you both a Merry Christmas.
"Santa brought us a baby brother?" Deidre asked, her eyes wide and her voice a quiet little whisper.
"Yep, Santa brought your baby brother," Bob told her softly.
Deidre leaned in and placed a kiss on Rudy's head, everyone melting at the sight. You and Bob couldn't deny that this had been the best Christmas you had ever had and it was all thanks to the tiny little angel who had entered your lives.

C involved all her family and friends in this shitshow...I guess that 's the way B list actors make money...They have to milk their fandom till the end because nobody knows who they are outside
The narrative has been firmly in place and family and friends of both Sam and Caitriona have been involved in keeping hush about the truth and even partaking in it (think Cait's parents and Deidre). We know this already. Anon you are baiting me to go on a bashing rant about Cait and I'm not going to.
I've already expressed my incredulity about how far this shitshow has gone, in particular the birth announcement of Caitriona's son. Yes, my mouth was left agape, and yes I found it extremely disconcerting that Auggie has been fobbed off as Tony's boy. But it's not my monkey and it's not my circus.

And now let me introduce Roderick's oldest son, Randy Kingston.
Tumblr media
RANDY KINGSTON
Parents: Roderick Kingston and Tiara Angelista.
Sisters: Melanie and Bonnie.
Stage: Adult
Traits: Artistic, Flirty, Star Quality, Eccentric, Friendly and Angler.
Main Skills: Fishing, Cooking and Gardening. He's good as well with Piano and Inventing.
Music: Pop. Food: Pancakes. Color: Blue.
Zodiac sign: Gemini.
Tumblr media
Career: Angler. He's currently a Level 7, Local Ahab.
Randy followed the Angler career, for two important reasons, one, that Angler is one of his traits, and two, cause he wanted to catch a very special a very special fish that he needed to prepare a meal with which he could resurrect his deceased mother, Tiara Angelista. That fish was the Death Fish, and the meal was Ambrosia, for which he required one more ingredient: Life Fruit. That's why Randy, not only put all his efforts in fishing, but also in learning gardening and cooking.
Like his father, Randy loves the Bridgeport nightlife, but he's also a family man, loves the outdoors and being one with nature.
Tumblr media
Lifetime Wish: Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous. - Reach Celebrity Star Level 5. - Be worth at Least 100,000 Simoleons. Which he already fulfilled.
Randy had another wish, though, he was obsessed with resurrecting his mother, Tiara, so he spent many nights fishing in the small cemetery lake for Death Fish, he even traveled to Al Simhara in search of Life Fruit, which he now grows in his own garden, to prepare Ambrosia, the meal capable of bringing dead sims back to life. We will see later whether he managed to resurrect Tiara or not, and what happened next.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Status: Married (for the third time). As a flirty man Randy has gotten himself into far more trouble than his father ever could, not for nothing has he been in three marriages already. The first was to his high school sweetheart, Diedre Littler, with whom he had four daughters: Josephine, Thalia, Brenda (now adults), and Samantha (still a teenager).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His second marriage was to Belisama Hemlock (for whom he left Deidre). With her he had two children: Roderick (named after his grandfather) and Megan (in the picture with Belisama). Randy and Belisama were very happy at the beginning, but everything was ruined after the babies were born cause Belisama, being a vampire, insisted on continuing with her old nocturnal habits. Randy was fed up with that, and asked her for a divorce. Belisama had to leave the house and Randy kept the custody of the children.
Tumblr media
Currently, Randy is married to Elspeth Cook, (Jeffrey and Lady Cook's daughter), with whom he had started an affair while still married to Belisama. After Randy's divorce, Elspeth got pregnant, so they decided to get married immediately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today they live happily, with their baby boy, Ryan, and Randy's other three children. They say the third time is the charm. Let's hope that this marriage will last forever.

9-1-1 7x10 speculations
So! With the stills that came out today, and mildly silently freaking out because I was at work, I have many thoughts!
So tentative timeline at the beginning of the episode.
Eddie and Buck talking / Madney talking with Hen -> Eddies Parents arriving -> Buck and Tommy's date night / Bathena house fire -> Hospital -> Athena investigating the fire ->Chris going back to Texas
I think it will start with the aftermath of Chris and Marisol discovering Kim. So I feel like Marisol dumping Eddie's ass and Chris locking himself in his room will be off-screen and Eddie is gonna be explaining everything to Buck in the aftermath because we see him gesticulating wildly and running his hand through his hair about why Buck is trying to understand what happened
The only thing that I am unsure of is why the Diaz Parents are in town? But I feel like it was a surprise that they show up at Eddie's house, and they stumble upon this situation and Eddie has no choice but to explain what happened, especially when you see the still where I'm pretty sure Eddie is showing a picture of Kim.
I also feel like Buck will try to talk to Chris and Chris will angrily say that his Dad is a hypocrite because he is dating two women, paralleling how Chris got the talk on how he is a player at the beginning of the season by dating multiple girls.
After that Buck gotta leave because of date night with Tommy and Eddie insists that he leave to make it in time.
So date night is going well, but oh no! Buck receives a call from the Hospital? May? Chim? about how Bobby and Athena are in the hospital. Tommy drives Buck to the hospital because he physically cannot.
Eddie also gets the call from another member of the 118 and leaves Chris with his parents to go to the hospital too.
The Madney and Hen scene will happen at the same time as the Buck and Eddie aftermath scene. Henren probably got good news from Deidre/the judge about how Mara's adoption will go forward despite the councilwomen's attempt to block it. You see Madney and Hen smiling throughout the stills of that scene.
Then when Hen is going to social services or the courtroom, she'll get a call about Bobby from a member of the 118.
Athena's still shows that it will be after the events we see in the promo. Athena is gonna find out where Amir lives and she will confront him. Sorry guys, I really feel like she pulls her gun on Amir while showing whatever it is in her hand because she feels convinced that it is Amir who sets fire to her house after how Amir reacted when he was in her home last episode. Amir is going to say something that convinces Athena that it is not him because he is a red herring!!
Anyways, going back to the stills. One of the last scenes is how Chris announces to Eddie that he will be going back to Texas with his grandparents for the summer because he is so mad at him. Eddie stricken by all the events, will let him go back. But before Chris goes, Eddie will say to his son how he loves him that he is gonna work on himself, that he can call anytime, and that he will do his best to answer, because you know, work. Buck will also be there to see off Chris. Other theories that are floating in my head:
The Cartel that Herman is part of is responsible for the Bathena fire. The propane tanks are set up for a criminal fire! And it doesn't feel like it's Amir. Even if we see Amir angry about how Bobby has a family, I don't think he is vengeful.
The 118 will be split up at the end of the season and Captain Gerrard will take the place of Bobby as interim captain, while Bobby is recovering. Because I am 99% sure that Bobby will survive his heart attack and will come back in season 8 as Captain after recovering and going to more therapy!
Anyways, back to the interim: Even if Hen was a hero in the cruise disaster, she did disobey orders from Chief Simson and will be penalized. At the same time, the councilwoman or someone else will see how the 118 is too close as a team, too family-like, and someone doesn't like it and will take to the appropriate people to disperse the 118 across various fire stations in LA except for Buck and Ravi. In turn, Eddie will feel isolated just like Ryan said in the interviews, and will spiral in between seasons.
I feel like the still with Chief Simson will announce any of the ideas in the above paragraph.
Interesting tidbit. We see Eddie reading from the prayer book in Bobby's hospital room with Buck beside him.
To end all of this: Buck and Tommy are thriving! ✨ Even with all the failed dates we have been seeing!
So! With the stills that came out today, and silently freaking out because I was at work, I have many thoughts!
So here is my tentative timeline at the beginning of the episode.
Quick rundown:
Eddie and Buck talking / Madney talking with Hen -> Eddies Parents arriving -> Buck and Tommy's date night / Bathena house fire -> Hospital -> Athena investigating the fire / the 118 at Bobby’s bedside ->Chris going back to Texas
The details:
Eddie/Buck scene:
I think it will start with the aftermath of Chris and Marisol discovering Kim. Marisol will be dumping Eddie's ass and Chris will be locking himself in his room will be off-screen and Eddie is gonna be explaining everything to Buck in the aftermath. We see him gesticulating wildly at Buck and running his hand through his hair about in the stills. Buck tries to understand what happened and will counter-argument on the actions that he did while also being compassionate about the situation.
The only thing that I am unsure of is why the Diaz Parents are in town… But I feel like it is a surprise that they show up at Eddie's house, and they stumble upon this situation. Eddie has no choice but to explain what happened, and shows a picture of Kim. Helena reacts to how similar Shannon and Kim are. Understandably, Ramon and Helena are disappointed in their son, but hopefully they are compassionate about the whole thing even if it is wrong.
I also feel like Buck will try to talk to Chris and Chris will angrily say that his Dad is a hypocrite because he is dating two women, paralleling how Chris got the talk at the beginning of the season on how it is wrong to be dating multiple girls.
Buck/Tomy scene:
After all of that, Buck gotta leave because of date night with Tommy and Eddie insists that he leave to make it in time.
Madney/Hen scene:
The Madney and Hen scene will happen at the same time as the Buck and Eddie aftermath scene. Henren probably got good news from Deidre/the judge about how Mara's adoption will go forward despite the council women's attempt to block it. You see Madney and Hen smiling throughout the stills of that scene.
Then when Hen is going to social services or the courtroom, she'll get a call about Bobby from a member of the 118.
Athena:
The Athena stills show that scenes that are shown will be after the events we see in the promo. Athena is gonna find out where Amir lives and she will confront him. Sorry guys, I really feel like she pulls her gun on Amir while showing whatever it is in her hand. She feels convinced that it is Amir who sets fire to her house after how Amir reacted when he was in her home last episode. Amir is going to say something that convinces Athena that it is not him because he is a red herring to mislead us all!!
Chris/Eddie
I’m pretty sure that one of the last scenes in the episode will be when Chris announces to Eddie that he will be going back to Texas with his grandparents for the summer because he is so mad at him. Eddie, stricken by all the events, will let him go back. But before Chris goes with his grandparents, Eddie will say to his son how he loves him, that he is gonna work on himself, and that he can call anytime, Buck will also be there to see off Chris as seen in the stills and provide support and comfort. Other theories that are floating in my head:
The Cartel that Herman is part of is responsible for the Bathena fire. The propane tanks are too well set up! And it doesn't feel like it's Amir. It is too well organized, although I don’t feel like Amir is a sloppy guy, but still not him. Even if we see Amir angry about how Bobby has a family, I don't think he is vengeful enough to try and kill Bobby and Athena. When Bobbys truck was stolen by the cartel, the cartel probably found his insurance stored in the truck because everyone does that, including me, and found his address through those papers. And then set up the fire during the night.
I am 99% sure that Bobby will survive his heart attack and will come back in season 8 as Captain after recovering and going to more therapy!
The 118 will be split up at the end of the season and Captain Gerrard will take the place of Bobby as interim captain, while Bobby is recovering.
Even if Hen was a hero in the cruise disaster, she did disobey orders from Chief Simpson and will be penalized. Chief Simpson appointing Captain Gerrard as interim Captain for the 118 instead of Hen is her punishment. To go even further, I feel like the councilwomen is angry that Henren adoption went through, and she pulled strings and also whispered in Chief Simpson ear saying the 118 is too close to each other, too family-like, and that it would be better that they separate the 118 across various fire stations in LA except for Buck and Ravi, who stays at the 118. In turn, because the 118 is dispersed across the city, Eddie will feel isolated just like Ryan said in the interviews, and will spiral  and maybe understand himself more in between seasons.
I feel like the still with Chief Simpson will announce any of the ideas in the above paragraph.
It doesn’t go in the theories of 7x10, but I feel I should include it here. When Bobby felt the metal being heavy on his chest when he was talking to his father in his dream in 7x09, it was a sign that he was starting to have a heart attack. Because of his father waking him up and the adrenaline of saving Athena from the fire, it staved off the heart attack long enough to get outside of the house.
Interesting tidbit: We see Eddie reading from the prayer book in Bobby's hospital room with Buck beside him.
To end all of this: Buck and Tommy are thriving! ✨
I'm starting to have theories for season 8, but that is another post for another day!

ok introducing my rook deiadre mercar :) hiiiiiiiiiiii <3 deia for short! like deidre but with an A. day-a-druh. day-a. anyway :) heres her pinterest lol it looks so fucking good actually i rly popped off as they say
the quick tldr stuff
she/her
27yo
taashmancer :)
Elf. very much a city elf who's barely scraping by, tho thankfully not a slave and not belonging to a liberati family either.
obv mercar = shadow dragon ! also has (former) ties to the inquisition and briefly worked as an inquisition agent reporting from minrathous
she's a rogue archer ! a veil ranger i guess
im going for a purple rook personality which tends to skew blue more often than not. an indigo rook if you will
reasonably amicable w solas and "Trades Verbal Jabs" on the regular with him. to cope. shes pro redemption within reason and shes mostly going with a lighthearted-to-diffuse-his-insanity approach.
expanded lore below for the 2 people who are interested :) its crazy down there lol
deiadre "deia" mercar is the 3rd oldest child and 1st daughter of a SIX adopted children household lol. parents are a human and elf partnership and the kids are all orphans saved from minrathous' streets or displaced by the war.
her father is human and an overly ambitious logan-roy-if-he-was-broke type figure. mother is elven and kinder but also growing increasingly ill, and deiadre has had to step up as her caretaker.
her mother refers to their family and home as "the rookery" :) she loves birds (deia does too!) and since rooks are "resourceful, opportunistic, highly social and rarely seen on their own"..... the nickname stuck :)
deia had a strong relationship between her two older brothers, also adopted. evander (elven, 31 in datv) is the oldest - kind, funny, lighthearted - she's very similar to him, and it was him who first taught her to fight against tevinter authority and inspired her to want more for elves in thedas. he's also immature, shirks responsibility in favour of his grand directionless goals, and is somewhat selfish lol. matthas (human, 29 in datv) is the second son - self-serious, quick to irritation and melancholy, and a workaholic, but also honorable, selfless, brave, and a provider for the family in all the ways evander sort of isnt. deia is a combination of both of them, and loves them both equally and inspite of their flaws.
during dai, evander (19), matthas (17) and - after much begging - deia (14) journeyed to skyhold at the behest of their father to meet the inquisition and potentially seize an opportunity to elevate their military family's position. on the road somewhere in emprise du lion they were attacked by venatori and ironically saved BY the The Inquisitor herself (as well as ashara's companions, including A Certain Someone lol...........). deia got idk knocked out during the fight bc she was a literal tween lol so she kind of missed everything djkdjsk but when she awoke, evander and matthas had spent several hours w the inquisition and things had changed. matthas was ENAMORED by ashara, idolized her, wanted to join the inquisition immediately and bought right into the ~ herald of andraste ~ mythos even tho ashara has always adamantly rejected it. on the other hand :) evander had spent much of the day talking to a quieter more unassuming bald man. lol. and came away from that conversation a little :) different. lol. deia herself didnt have much to do with either of them, having been unconscious for most of it.
after this, evander/matthas/deia solidify connections with the inquisition and join up as agents. matthas is allowed to remain at skyhold and starts serving the inquisition heart body and soul, and quickly rises through the ranks over the next several years. evander and deia return to minrathous and start sabotaging venatori operations on the home front, which is where deia learns the rogue trade lol, and they both eventually join the shadow dragons.
post trespasser THE INCIDENT occurs <3 what is THE INCIDENT you ask? well i'll tell you :) evander at this point had become increasingly distant and strange and disconnected from the inquisition/shadow dragon/mercar family goals and interests. much more interested in actual minrathous politics and larger wilder stuff. deia didnt think much of this until it accumulated in him being caught sabotaging inquisition missions and leaking intel to :) you guessed it!! :) solas. as an agent of fen'harel.
ashara (or someone acting on her orders) has him immediately arrested and he probably wouldve been executed if deia hadn't instantly broken him out and helped him flee. this wasnt a subtle heist situation btw. everybody knew it was her who helped him lol. and so naturally their entire family was stripped of their agent status including matthas, the person who loved and believed in and idolized the inquisition/ashara the most.
he did not take this well. he condemned evander but he also condemned deia for saving his life. and then promptly said fuck you to the whole family and dipped. evander had no choice but to go on the run, and so he left too. deia understood ev's motives and honestly kind of agreed with them to an extent (obviously neither one of them was aware of solas's true goals lol) as a fellow ~revolutionary~. but she loves matthas too and the lives they had been building so... its a whole situation. lol. anyway.
this was 5 years before datv. so for the last 5 years, deia has had to pick up the pieces of her shattered family, play the diplomat AND the freedom fighter, and walk the tightrope of fighting for change while also protecting her family. she assumes the alias rook while continuing her work in the shadow dragons in attempts to lay low, avoiding her connections with both the inquisition and - unwittingly - fen'harel.
as for her opinions on both - it's complicated. she empathizes with evander's admiration for solas, because solas represents on the surface a person she has always wanted to be. but she resents him for ruining her family's life. lol. and while she enjoyed her time with the inquisition and respects them for saving her life and giving her + her brothers a noble purpose, she resents ashara for having the gall to saved her life as a girl and then destroyed it as a woman, all while not even being able to recognize deia on the street, most likely. she sees both of them as authority figures with two much power and too much baggage be trusted, but she also sees both of her brothers in them. especially solas. and she desperately wants to FIX both of them, because if she can fix the rift between solas and ashara, she might be able to fix the rift between matthas and evander.

Audra and Bebe and Bernadette and Christine: The Good Fight
Diane Lockhart:
Tumblr media
After slapping the shit out of Julianna Margulies in the series finale of The Good Wife, Diane Lockhart became the star of her own spin-off series The Good Fight. On the eve of her retirement, Diane finds out she's dead broke due to a series of financial schemes perpetrated by friend and client Bernadette Peters' husband (whose name I don't care enough to look up). Following this disastrous turn of events, Diane becomes a partner at a Black Chicago-based firm, and is later upgraded to named partner.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's also a fashion icon, so jot that down.
Throughout six seasons, staunch-Democrat Diane spends her storylines addressing the social and political climate of the day. She handles cases revolving around fake news and the MeToo movement, briefly joins an underground anarchist group because Katie Finneran tells her to (understandable), gets SWAT-ed, has a few breakdowns, and enjoys the fun of microdosing. In short, she's living her best life.
Liz Reddick:
Tumblr media
In the second season, Liz Reddick-Lawrence joins the gang at Reddick, Boseman, & Lockhart. Formerly a U.S. Attorney, and Boseman's ex-wife, she joins the firm following her father's death. Initially, she and Diane get off to a rough start with their professional and personal differences. White name partner, Black firm... You can understand why. They spend the series butting heads as often as holding hands, and when the chips are down, they'll support each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Liz, another fashion icon, has a young son, divorces her cop husband, has a romantic liaison with Wayne Brady, has another affair with her ex-husband (and perjures herself when asked about it in court), and fucks a workplace subordinate (a white man, which is the real crime here). She and Diane briefly put aside their fight-of-the-week to lean into the rumor that they're lesbian lovers in order to win a court case. And we didn't even get a fake dating kiss out of it, so if anyone wants to join my class action lawsuit for emotional harm, let me know.
Judge Claudia Friend:
Tumblr media
Judges on The Good Fight, often have a fun little schtick that recurs throughout their guest appearances. Judge Claudia Friend is cursed to always preside over cases where the lawyers see fit to bicker like children the entire time. She is...so tired. (Hence why my multi-story saga about this minor character started with her getting absolutely railed over her desk by another judge--as played by Joanna Gleason).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to three appearances in The Good Wife, including Audra McDonald's single guest appearance where they shared a scene, Claudia Friend presides over two episodes/cases in The Good Fight. And I, for one, would have liked more of this exhausted and exasperated judge in my life.
Lenore Rindell:
Tumblr media
Mother of early-series protagonist Maia Rindell, Lenore is a co-conspirator of the ponzi scheme that makes Diane flat broke season one. While her husband fucks off to some island to avoid prosecution, Lenore has to stay and face the music. She's also having an affair with her brother-in-law, so there's that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, sucks for Diane and all that, but take a look at this woman and tell me you wouldn't let her do whatever she wanted? I support women's wrongs, and I really support the costume department putting Bernadette in this pretty little nightie. Anyway, Lenore is eventually prosecuted for her part in the whole financial scheme and her character is written out of the show.
Other Divas who appear on The Good Fight include: Brenda Braxton (Madeline Gilford - 16eps), Andrea Martin (Francesca Lovatelli - 6eps), Mary Testa (Amy Ann Howard - 3eps), Katrina Lenk (Naftali Amato - 3eps), Jayne Houdyshell (Renee Rampling - 2eps), LaChanze (Julius's Wife - 2eps), Carolee Carmello (Judge Eve Sebald - 2 eps), Linda Emond (Judge Leora Kuhn - 1ep), Katie Finneran (Valerie Peyser - 1ep), Judith Light (Deidre Quinn - 1ep), Joanna Gleason (Judge Carmella Romano - 1ep), Kelli O'Hara (Deirdre Kresteva - 1ep), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Juror - 1ep).
Other Divas who appear on The Good Wife include: Mary Beth Peil (Jackie Florrick - 49eps), Anika Noni Rose (Wendy Scott-Carr - 14eps), Vanessa Williams (Courtney Paige - 4eps), Joanna Gleason (Judge Carmella Romano - 3eps), Linda Emond (Judge Leora Kuhn - 3eps), Jan Maxwell (Camilla Vargas - 2eps), Debra Monk (Tracy Mintz - 1ep), Julie White (Selma Krause - 1ep), Susan Blackwell (Professor Jolie - 1ep), Tovah Feldshuh (Lena - 1ep), Karen Ziemba (Lina Banner - 1ep), Ann Harada (Isabel St. Jean -1ep), Donna Murphy (Judge Alice Adelson - 1ep), Victoria Clark (Shannon Janderman - 1ep), Jackie Hoffman (Judge Maria Felletti - 1ep).
And pretty much every other Broadway actor you can think of.

49 from the angsty prompts for Criston and Deidre 👀👀
Thanks for the ask! I had a lot of fun with this one! Enjoy!
49. “You hurt me. I didn’t think…”
The blood leaves of the weirwood shivered in a passing breeze. Deidre found Criston under the heart tree’s bone white branches when she came to the Godswood, seeking solace after recent events at court. Off shift and out of his armor, he sat in his simple linen shirt and gray breaches, leaned against the trunk, whittling a broken off piece of the sacred tree itself, carving through the white bark on the surface to sap soaked wood underneath, red as blood and the leaves above him.
Deidre froze when she saw him, a myriad of emotions swirling inside her. He studied her with hard dark eyes, black and unreadable as he tilted his head like a predator and slowly stood, tucking away whatever he had been carving. Both regarded the other silently across the clearing before the heart tree. Deidre should have walked away but her mother’s grief won out and the words slipped from her lips before she could think to hold her tongue. “Alicent is taking my boy from me. You put her up to it, didn’t you?” Her words came out sharper than she intended.
Criston smiled at her, a slight and mocking thing. “Your boy? I thought he was your husband’s younger bastard brother, your ward you call him.”
“Bastard he may be, yet Alicent covets him as a companion for her sons and a squire for the crown? She would never make such a request of me unless you put it in her ear. You are taking my son from me simply to spite me!” Deidre narrowed her eyes as she stepped towards Criston, standing tall as she could. Yet the slight stature she had inherited from her Crannogmen mother could not compare with the tall warrior’s build of the Kingsgaurd before her.
Criston let out a bitter laugh, a thin and hallow sound far from the deep, warm chuckle she had so craved to hear in her youth. “Your son, your boy? Are you so quick to forget yourself, Lady Blackwood?”
Deidre flinched at the accusation in his voice but forced herself to meet his judgmental gaze. “Why must you resent me so, Ser, after all these years? Every decision I ever made was to protect you, and countless others to come. There are things greater than our personal desires and fancies.” Her eyes flickered to the heart tree, it’s morose face weeping tears of sap blood.
Criston’s sun kissed face, normally a stoic mask of hard lines, erupted with emotion, anger curling his lip into a sneer. “You continue to speak in your cryptic riddles, using your ancient gods as an excuse for what you did.” His jaw twitched in anger. “You didn’t protect me! You hurt me. I didn’t think…”
Deidre stared up at him wide-eyed, her mouth opening but no words coming out in response. Never before had he judged her faith, her, so harshly. He had once looked at her with fascination when she talked of her old gods, accepted all of who she was freely and with love, as she had him. Her eyes began to sting and she felt a lump form in her throat.
Criston shook his head. “So many of these high lords have made their judgments of me, a brute of a knight, when none of them know me at all. Of all people, I didn’t think you’d ever be among them, but…” His brow furrowed in disbelief. “You think I would hurt you, intentionally? Tristan is not just your boy. He is my son and Dyana is my daughter! You took them from me, and you were about to do it again! Already are they beyond my reach, and you’d have taken them beyond my sight, where I might never see them again, at least ensure they were safe!”
“I never meant to cause you pain,” Deidre whispered in a tearful voice. “I simply wanted you safe. I just want to keep all of us safe. The gods have whispered unspeakable horrors of what is to come if the course of fate doesn’t change. I had to do something.”
Criston’s hard eyes softened, a dark brown filled with sadness and agony as he stepped towards her. “And what do you think I want for the children? I did ask the queen to let the boy stay to train with the princes, so I may watch at least one of my children grow, give him opportunities even the highest born of lordlings could only dream of, and to keep him safe.” Criston stopped not a hands width from Deidre, staring down at her with pain and yearning warring in his amber gaze, chest heaving with emotion he’d suppressed for so long.
Deidre’s lips quivered at the tenderness she’d missed in that hard face, an earnesty and devotion she had once so treasured for herself burning in him for Tristan. “This place is a pit of vipers. Tristan will get hurt, if I leave him here alone.”
“He will not be alone. I will keep him safe. Let me keep him safe, and teach him so he may do that for himself someday. Please.” Criston’s hand came up to her shoulder, the squeeze of his callous fingers soft and reassuring.
Feeling his firm and steady touch after so many years broke Deidre. She nodded as a sob left her lips. “I will let him stay.” Tears streamed down her pale cheeks as she gasped, “I am sorry, I am sorry I kept him from you.”
Criston trailed his fingers along her shoulder, up her neck, and to her jaw. His thumb traced her cheekbone, wiping the wetness away as he tilted her face upward towards his. His face drew close enough so their noses almost brushed. Deidre knew she should step away from him, a wife, a mother, but she could not. His breathe warm on her lips, she closed the remaining distance, tangling her fingers into his black hair as her mouth closed over his.
Criston’s arms wrapped around her waist as he pulled her against him, his fingers finding their home again in the soft flesh of her hips. As their lips continued to dance, Deidre pulled him back under the cover of the heart tree, the weirwood’s bone white branches shielding them from prying eyes once again, for the first time in many years. Overhead, the blood leaves of the weirwood shivered in a passing breeze.

Foolish
Deidre would never say it out loud, but for her money, the boss was the smartest man she’d ever met. He’d broken out of Arkham Asylum with a magnet and shoe strings, he organized bank robberies like some people set up play dates, and the cops still hadn’t recovered all the loot they’d swiped from the art museum’s basement four years ago.
(He also had enough sense to only make overtures to her and Nina once. Most guys needed a broken bone to get the message.)
As smart as he was though, he could also be the dumbest motherfucker to have ever lived.
It wasn’t the riddles, as annoying as they could be. Every Rogue needed a gimmick, and it was still better than anything Joker would put them through.
The problem, as Granny Vance would have put it, was that he was ‘smart’ but not ‘wise’.
Ed was a smart guy, and he liked letting people know it. And he also liked letting other people know just how much smarter than them he was.
And his favorite targets were the psychotics he shared living space with in Arkham.
One of said psychos was visibly barely restraining himself from strangling Ed. It was poker night at the Iceberg Lounge and Ed was winning, much to the ire of Harvey Two-Face Dent. “You’re cheating,” he seethed as Ed took the small pile of money. “You must be!”
Ed rolled his eyes. “Oh, I must be? That’s right, I have to be cheating. It’s not that you can’t bluff to save your life, or that your tells are as obvious as those scars on your face, I must be cheating.” He scoffed. “Just how did someone with your lack of intellect pass the bar exam in the first place?”
Dent let out a growl, and Deidre’s hand went to her holster. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Nina do likewise. Across the table, Dent’s goons were lined up behind him watching the pair like hawks.
Cobblepot at the head of the table cleared his throat. “Gentlemen,” he said. “Let’s try not to squabble. I’d rather not have to ban anyone. Again.” Dent grumbled, but settled back in his chair. Cobblepot cut the deck and passed cards around to Dent, Jones, Isley, Quinn, and finally, Ed.
The game went uneventfully for another ten minutes, until once again, Dent and Ed were the last two. Dent was glaring at Ed, who looked bored as he looked at his cards. “Well?” he asked.
Ed, smirked. “I raise the bet to $500.” Quinn let out a whistle. Even Cobblepot looked shocked. Dent simply ground his teeth. “Well, Harv?” Ed asked. “Are you going to make a move, or do you need that coin to tell you what to do?”
Dent threw the cards down on the table. “Fold!”
Ed laughed, then showed his cards. He had a pair of twos. At this, Cobblepot sputtered. “A pair of twos!?” Isley and Jones likewise looked disgusted.
“Jeez, Eddie,” Quinn whined. “You’re the meanest poker player I’ve ever seen, and I used to play cards with Joker!”
Dent’s face was red, then purple. “You son of a bitch!” He shouted, getting to his feet. “You goddamn so of a bitch!”
Deidre watched as Ed took the money and smirked. Don’t say anything Boss, she thought. Don’t make it worse.
But of course, Ed, the smartest, dumbest man she’d ever known, couldn’t keep his mouth shut. “Well Harv, as the kids online like to say, get good. Scrub.”
As predicted, Dent grabbed Ed by the collar and pulled him up to his feet. Cobblepot tried to restore order, but Deidre and Nina lunged forward, socking Dent on both sides of his face. Dent’s goons jumped in, and then Quinn did, for some reason, and what was a poker game turned into a ten person brawl.
Ed was smart, but he was also very, very dumb.

these farmcore prompts all look so good! but you’ve talked a lot about the floyd family and farmer’s markets, would you mind expanding on that with #1 and bob, please? ☀️
OOoooooh absolutely my dear, I'd be more than happy to do so (lol).
Tumblr media
"You got her?" you asked, unbuckling yourself from the passenger seat of the truck.
"Yep, I've got Deidre if you've got the two little demons next to her," Bob chuckled.
You jumped out of the truck and into the crisp fall air, cool and almost biting as you unbuckled Auggie and Patrick from their carseats and helped them down to the ground in the dirt and gravel parking lot where you had parked. It was one of those days where it was peak season for the markets and for all the things that came with the fall.
Bob lifted four month old Deidre out of her own carseat, kissing her soft pink cheeks as he wrapped her loosely in her Irish knit blanket his grandmother had made for her.
"Do we need to get the stuff out of the back of the truck?" you asked.
"Nah, my brothers can get it," Bob said with a dismissive wave. "Besides, I think Hangman and Rooster are driving my mother and father crazy."
You laughed as Bob's brothers, Sean, Michael, Eugene and Liam, all went around to the back of the truck and began unloading the produce, crates and baskets for the stands.
You couldn't believe how huge the market was this year, nor had you seen so many people in one place. So many farm and ranching families had come to make an extra penny, some as a side hustle and others just to keep the farm or the ranch afloat. All around the bright reds, yellows, oranges and browns exploded from the tops of the trees while the smells of cinnamon, pumpkin, apples and hot autumn lunches reached your nostrils.
Sure enough, you found Rooster and Hangman both with Bob's mother, Irene, and his grandmother, Marty. The Nguyens had the stall across from the Floyds, both Philip and his wife conversing back and forth in rapid Vietnamese that was easily lost in the cacophony of chatter surrounding you and Bob.
"Dare you to eat one," Hangman told Rooster when Rooster was done filling a basket full of long, thin, wrinkly looking chili peppers from Irene's garden.
"No thanks Bagman," Rooster told him. "I don't wanna be parked on the can, shootin fire outta my ass all day long."
"Oh c'mon," Hangman insisted.
"Jake, we are not burning down the farmstand," Irene said, pretending to chide him. "This is the one thing that helps keep the ranch afloat and the last thing we want is the newspapers reporting that the market burned down from you two lighting your own farts on fire."
"Oh honey come off it," Marty chuckled as she filled the small wooden barrel buckets with apples and peaches from the orchards. "Navy boys used to do alot worse back in my day."
You and Bob caught the tail end of the conversation, greeting your friends and family as the first few customers came up to make their purchases. "You guys all doin ok?" Bob asked.
"Yeah save for the fact that ass-jack over here is trying to make me eat one of your Meemaw's chili peppers," Rooster pointed out.
"Hey!" Hangman cut it.
"Any idea where the other numbskulls are?" Bob asked.
"Mickey's helping your dad and grandfather and so isn't Natasha," Irene explained as she plated some of Marty's soft, cakey cinnamon cookies and stuck them on the counter with the rest of the baked goods. "Javy and Reuben? I have no idea where they went."
You and Bob glanced at each other curiously, but no matter, they were bound to turn up somewhere.
"Alright my lovely queen," Joe called out as he placed a crate full of glass bottles full of milk. "This is the last of the milk, straight from the cow herself."
Bob snorted and smothered a laugh. You carefully put Deidre in her little wicker basket while your two sons ran off with their grandfather to finish off the last of the unloading.
You and Bob were in absolute heaven as you helped people with their orders, handing out hot cups of cider, little bags full of apples, peaches, little teal colored containers full of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, chili peppers, potatoes, lettuces, cabbages, carrots, onions and so many other things that had grown easily on the Floyd land.
The baked goods of course had been the biggest hit with Marty's cinnamon cookies being the favorite of the kids who would come by, along with slices of Irene's coffee cake, chocolate and caramel turtles, carrot cake bites, cinnamon and pumpkin cake donuts and steaming hot cups of pumpkin and cinnamon flavored coffee. However, the antics that had ensued were a little less than expected.
"Hi, I'm cute, why don't you take a photo with me, it's just a dollar," Jake said, holding a giggling Baby Deidre up in front of his face, his voice as high pitched as it could possibly go.
"Jacob Glen Seresin! Put my baby down!" you demanded.
"Oh c'mon (y/n)," he pretended to whine. "She's cute, it'll help rake in extra money."
You rolled your eyes, handing off a carrot cake square to an elderly woman and her husband. "I wouldn't worry about it (y/n)," Bob assured you. "Ten to nothing, she'll spit-up on him later."
Bob had spoken a little too soon when a flabbergasted Jake looked at the two of you, the front of his shirt covered in a splatter of white goo. "Um.......um......I dunno what just happened," he stammered.
"C'mere princess," Bob said, taking your daughter from her uncle's arms gently putting her over his shoulder and patting her back.
You handed Jake the dish rag, feeling a little bad for him. "Thanks (y/n)," he said.
"No worries dumbass," you replied with a chuckle. "This is why we love you guys."
All day long you and Bob did what you could to help out at the farmstand, selling all the goods that had come from the farm. You and Bob lived for days like this, when you could be surrounded by friends, family and all that came from the land itself.

Happy STS! Did your OC ever have a favorite lullaby or bedtime story when they were a kid?
Happy STS! I've written about a character telling another a story to help them calm down before, actually! I dont remember if I posted it before, but when Mavros and Amara were small, Amara would go to her older brother when the storms got scary and crawl into his bed. There, he'd tell her the same story about the storms each time.
-
When she was young and scared of when the Anemoian lightning storms got bad, she would find herself in Mavros’ room. Mavros never seemed scared of such things. He was never scared. He’d get up to light the lantern on his bedside and invite her to share the covers.
He held up a thin blanket so they could use it like a tent, and tell her the origin of the storms. The lightning was Lord Pinnas' love for his long gone wife and children, the thunder his battlecry, and the rain was his tears because he lost them; but it's okay because now he brings the rain to keep us fed, the thunder to sing us to sleep, and the lightning is sent through the heavens to guide us in the darkest nights.
-
On a related topic, Iasis, (Mavros and Amara's uncle) often plays his mandolin and sang lullabies to all his kids. First to his late son, Arius, and then later he'd sing these poems to Deidre and Arias. He had all sorts, but most of them would have to do with themes of Iasis protecting them, safety, and about their Lord Pinna. Before his own children, he would sing to his youngest brother, Fluvius and his younger sister Janu. He made a lot of these songs, but some of them came from books and the stories are from his tutors and books. Iasis loves to write poems, but he has a lot of shame around it so he usually only recites these songs in privacy or to the young he cares for.

The Rings in Lythos.
Marth - The Emblem of Beginnings
Marth's ring was on Alear's finger for 1000 years as they slept. The pair have a deep connection which enables Marth  to serve as personal adviser and confidant.
Part of the reason Marth was chosen as the first ring met and the one closely associated with Alear is because he was the first lord. Their personalities are very similar, both are kind hearted, talented, have a strong sense of duty, idealistic, trusting and humble. Just like Marth, Alear wants to keep all his allies alive, especially after his mother sacrificed herself to protect their child when the ring vault in Lythos was attacked. Marth understands what it is like to have someone sacrifice themselves to protect him. When the Dolhr Empire attacks Altea, Elice stays and sends her little brother away for safety. Vassal Frey deguises as Marth as a decoy to aid his escape. Eventually they are reunited but he still experiences guilt. He has also suffered from losing his family and home when Altea fell. Both are humble and need reassurance from their allies when making difficult decisions. Marth and Alear undergo situations mirrored in Shadow Dragon such as when Marty goes to retrieve Falchion from Khadein and faces Gharnef who is undefeatable due to welding Imhullu. Alear faces the same humiliation and helplessness of defeat when Sombron and Veyle take all the Emblem ring and fills them with fell energy at Destinea Cathedral.
Marth's relationship with Tiki mirrors the relationship between Alear and Veyle. Marth views Tiki like a little sister and promises to protect her forever. They have a bond of trust and familial love. Just like Veyle, Tiki was forced to harm people against her will due to possession. Marth does not blame her and offers her comfort, similarly Alear forgives Veyle and comforts her. Marth promises Tiki that she will never have to go into a long sleep again. Alear promises Veyle that her efforts will bring happier times.
Sigurd - The Emblem of the Holy War.
Sigurd's role is as adviser and father figure to Alear in the same way his spirit gave guidance to his son Seliph. When he was alive Sigurd made many mistakes due to being short sighted, overly trusting, rash and a warrior. When he invaded Agustria, he failed to consider the safety of the citizens. His naivety and trusting nature enable Arvis to manipulate his actions and evidently murder him. As an Emblem, he offers guidance based on understanding his mistakes. He is also a replacement parent figure for Alear when Lumera dies. As a father who left behind a son he understands her pain and swears to protect Alear as a result.
Sigurd and Deidre's love resembles a fairy tale gone wrong. They fell in love at first sight but their love resulted in his demise. Without Deirdre being exposed from her isolation in the forest it is likely that many of the events that are necessary for second generation's story may not happen, Seliph may have not been born and Loptr Church may have never found her. Alear is treated like a fairytale figure by many of their allies but they realise that Alear isn't a fairytale, they stand equal as treasured allies.
Deidre and Veyle mirror each other in many ways. When Alear first meets Veyle, they are enchanted by her, as though she has a magical aura about her. She then ends up fleeing without Akear knowing where she went. When Sigurd meets Deidre he is filled with fascination and enchantment. Deidre also flees to the forest spirit without Sigurd knowing where she went. Like Deidre, Veyle meant long periods in isolation and suffered from deep loneliness. She is also aware of the blood that flows through her veins and how it could leepad to great evil. They are both humble, kind-hearted and naive. Veyle almost leads to Alear's downfall in the chapter; 'The Fell Dragon Sombron' but is able to escape whereas  Sigurd is unable to escape his.
The stolen rings
Lucina - Lucina is a symbol of hope despite the odds and the determination to change fate. When Lucina is stolen it symbolises all of Lumera's hopes and dreams of a family being taken away. Lucina being in Lythos also symbolises that Alear had already changed their fate. Alear could have been another of Sombron's children fed to the corrupted but instead they built a bond with Lumera, defeated Sombron for the first time and while asleep was imbued with divine power.
Byleth - Byleth being taken symbolises all the lessons that were enable to be taught to Alear because Lumera perished. Byleth being in Lythos symbolises Alear's lack of knowledge about who they are.
Eirika - Eirika being taken symbolises the end of peace. Eirika is described as a person who defeats violence. Eirika being in Lythos symbolises the growth Alear will have throughout the story. Eirika is thrust as leader of an army from a sheltered upbringing and Alear is thrust upon a journey to collect the Emblems and stop Sombron when they have only just awoken. They both start as naive but end up becoming thoughtful, level headed leaders.
Leif - Leif being stolen symbolises the end of wisdom. Lumera's wisdom has been lost and Alear is in the same state as Leif at the beginning of Thracia 776, seeking vengeance for the loss of their family. Alear mentions their hatred and desire for revenge against the cloaked figure who killed their mother and Sombron. Like Leif, when Alear starts to learn the truth about Veyle's double personality they change from wanting vengeful to wishing to help her, when Leif learnt of The Empire's oppression of its own people who arrived to help them and take out their rulers.
