Electric Beach Pres. Hyperpits w/ Pinto @ Subclub 5.31
Geoffery Chaucer is the man credited with being the first person to put the idiom “it’s better late than never” into print. Good thing he did, because that quote helps justify this late announcement.
Tomorrow night New York based producer/DJ Serik Slobodskoy, more commonly known as Hyperbits, will be spinning at one of the many hot new night clubs that have been popping up all over New York City, Subclub. Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, Subclub is the new home for Corona’s Saturday night party, Electric Beach. Formerly stationed at Santos Party House, with a brief stint at Motivo, Electric Beach is known for booking some of the hottest DJs before they achieve stardom. What makes Electric Beach even more appealing to New Yorkers is how affordable they are; $20 tickets, $5 Corona bottles and buckets of Corona for $35. With fair admission and beverage prices, it is easy to be enticed to attend Electric Beach on Saturday, but make sure you don’t sleep on the talent. 2013 was a breakthrough year for the Hyperbits; With an EDC NYC performance under his belt early last May, and four consecutive singles charting in the Beatport Trance & Progressive House Top 100, it is obvious that he wanted to set the tone last year, to make way for a big 2014.
The doors open at 11:00pm, and the party goes until 4:00am. Hyperbits will be receiving support from Pinto, another up-and-coming New York City producer/DJ.

[Event Review] Gesaffeslstein @ Webstr Hall 12.3.13
Tumblr media
Mike Levy is a calculating man who puts on a brilliant pseudo act of being really authentic. While those two may seem at odds with one another, when the artist Gesaffelstein appears they flow together into a chain smoking, sportcoat wearing, Kanye-collaborating package. The French producer stopped by Webster Hall a few weeks back and delivered an incredible set to a mostly packed night and the man did it on a Tuesday. In between two columns of lights and standing on little more than a large podium Gesaffelstein dropped tracks from his stellar debut album Aleph, like the eponymous title track as well as older hits like his incredible “Control Movement”. When Gesa let the latter track hit the speakers the crowd went wild to the incredible percussion and rhythms of the song. His sound isn’t just techno, it’s got much too much variety to be pigeon holed. One of the simpler ways might be to say that he cater to anything but the mainstream. His sound is dark, filled with rich, full percussion that gives his music a truly cinematic feel; one need only look as far as his video for “Pursuit” to see that.
In the past year Levy and brother-in-arms Brodinski have been popping up in clubs all over the world often with their friends from Bromance Records like Louisahhh!!! with whom they appeared at Webster Hall just a few months ago. In fact, Louis and Mike will be back at Webster for New Year’s Eve, or going by their starting set time of 8am, New Year’s Day. His shows are dope, his music is futuristic and the people that dance to his tunes are people worth dancing with. So, if you get the chance to see him in your ‘hood, get off your ass and do it.

Live City – Child’s Play & Justified
In recent weeks the name Live City has been appearing on our site more and more. If you’re already familiar with them, then it’s likely you already know how talented they are. If not, allow us to give you a more formal introduction with the help of their two newest releases.
Live City are a music producer/DJ tandem born and bred in New York City. Their style and sound is very diverse, varying from disco house to Melbourne bounce, though they tend to stay in the progressive/electro area. In recent months they’ve been pumping out huge remixes alongside legendary DJ, Tommie Sunshine, and are finally receiving the attention they deserve. The remixes have been receiving support from a list of huge names in the industry (including Afrojack), and in the past week, their radio-friendly remix of Capital Cities’ Safe And Sound has even been played on New York’s 92.3 NOW.
More recently, Live City has released two massive original tracks that shows their talent doesn’t only come out when Tommie is around. One is free for download off their soundcloud, and the other was released on Tommie’s record label, Brooklyn Fire. Child’s Play is the former. Released the first week of June, it came with this statement from the guys of Live City themselves:
“We have so much music coming out in the next month that we felt we needed to give one out for free. Here is our newest original, Child’s Play.”
Child’s Play has a grungy, rumbling bass line that resembles R3hab’s chainsaw sound. It is a massive electro banger that we’re sure will get even more attention as more fans hear it. The creative album artwork that came with the number shows that even though this track is free to download, the time, effort and marketing needed to produce a song that earns respect, was put in to Child’s Play.
The second of the two songs that the New York duo dropped recently is Justified. Originally released on their soundcloud free to download, it has since been pulled so they could give the track the proper release it deserves (but not before Tommie tweeted about it, telling all of his followers to “grab it now!”).Justified is nearly impossible to describe, because the sound design and feel of the song are so unique. It has a progressive/electro drop that was injected with tons of bounce. It has received tons of attention from an assortment of blogs, was featured on Dancing Astronauts “2012 Best Of The Rest”, and even supported byAfrojack and Bobby Burns last week on their Jacked Radio #538.
If you’re like us, and love having the newest, freshest tracks that none of your friends have ever heard of, these two tracks by Live City are for you. If you’re a DJ looking to drop an underground heater that will spice up the dance floor, these two tracks by Live City are for you. Or if you’re just a music enthusiast who enjoys hearing inspiring musicians express themselves through creative sounds and melodies, these songs are for you.

EVENT: Chuckie & Gregori Klosman @ Governors Beach Club 7.04
4th of July is one of those holidays that you always look forward to, but have no idea how to spend it. There’s too much family, too many friends and too many parties, what’s a raver to do? This year the Dirty Dutch Gods answered New York City’s prayers when we asked for guidance. They bestowed on us the plan of how to celebrate America’s Independence Day this year: Chuckie & Gregori Klosman!
Chuckie & Klosman have become known as a duo who spread the sound of Dutch music everywhere they go.They have such a strong sense of musical nationalism, that they even went as far as to name their party after it, Dirty Dutch. The party starts at 4pm on Thursday, July 4, ends at midnight, and it’s going down at Governor’s Beach Club. A venue that is making a serious statement this Summer announcing a ton of shows with RPM and Made Event in the recent weeks.
There’s a fan presale beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5th at 12pm. Like all shows now-a-days these tickets are going to sell like hot cakes, so unless you want to buy them for three times the price off scalpers, so make sure you’re at your computer with your credit card ready. (Having a credit card on file with places like ticketmaster, wanttickets and the like can really save time and help get that ticket).

EVENTS: Live City @ Webster Hall Balcony Lounge
In the past two months or so, Tommie Sunshine has released three huge remixes: Capital Cities – Safe and Sound, Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Sacrilege and Mt. Eden – Sierra Leone. What do these tracks have in common? They were all co-produced with the New York natives, Live City. In addition to their aural onslaught with the legendary Chicago DJ, just yesterday Live City released Child’s Play, a grungy electro track free to download off their soundcloud. If you haven’t heard of these guys yet, you should look ‘em up. If you’ve been following them for the past year you’ll be happy to know that they’re spinning this Saturday in Webster Hall’s Balcony Lounge.
To be completely honest, we don’t understand how this upcoming set hasn’t received more attention; The duo has been on fire since they began teaming up with Tommie Sunshine. Their remix of Sacrilege was even supported by Annie Mac Radio, W & W, Gareth Emery, Afrojack and Bobby Burns. We also hear they have a ton of new music getting released soon, so they’ll probably play some it on Saturday.
Tickets for the event can be purchased here, but be sure to say “Live City” at the door. Every night at Webster Hall is a night to remember, combine that with Live City’s EDM intellect, and we guarantee Saturday will be no different.
