From Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 to Singham Again: 7 sequels releasing in 2024!
Just as 2023 was inundated with sequels (10 in all, including the Netflix Lust Stories anthology film), 2024, as of now, is set to have eight of them, plus a spin-off. As of now, as per reports, only two—Stree 2 and Raid 2—are likely to be true sequels, just like Gadar 2 and Tiger 3 last year. Last year, these sequels were crowded between June and December, but this year, they will begin from February itself. And this time, T-Series and Jio Studios are involved as producers in three movies each.
Tumblr media
Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (earlier film in 2010) The next in the Balaji Telefilms’ bold franchise that introduced Rajkummar Rao and was Nushrratt Bharuccha’s first hit, the film was to release in February itself, but has now been postponed to April 19. Dibakar Banerjee is writer-director and co-producer again. As of now, Nimrit Ahluwalia, Anupam Joardar and the foreign actress Rossana Elsa Scugugia are the only cast known.
Singham Again (earlier films in 2010 and 2014) The iconic Rohit Shetty character of Singham will be back after Singham (that started Rohit’s Cop Universe) and Singham Returns, on Independence Day. Kareena Kapoor Khan also ‘returns’ as his wife from the latter film. Deepika Padukone is the newest (and first female) addition to Rohit’s Cops, while the other members of his Cop Universe—Simmba a.k.a. Ranveer Singh and Sooryavanshi a.k.a. Akshay Kumar will also feature here. Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and (if buzz is true) Tiger’s father Jackie Shroff will come into this patriotic saga!
Jio Studios co-produces this spectacular production. But more importantly, this is a chance for Rohit to redeem himself after Cirkus. A small point: Singham also made a mark in cameos in Simmba and Sooryavanshi, so he will be seen for the fifth time here!
Stree 2 (earlier film in 2018) The new film once again features all the five loved characters in Stree—Shraddha Kapoor in the title role, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Stree was the first film in the Dinesh Vijan Horror Universe, and the sequel is again directed by Amar Kaushik. This Jio Studios co-production will also be an August release.
Tumblr media
Metro…In Dino (earlier film in 2007) This year’s sequels will be known for their ensemble casts. Anurag Basu repeats only Konkona Sen Sharma from the nine lead players of Life In A…Metro, and adds Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Pritam, his constant music composer, is in again. The first film had an unusual concept and theme and its music too was employed in an unusual way. The same is expected with this T-Series Films co-production.
Badass Ravikumar (earlier film, The Xpose, in 2014) This can be called a spin-off, or a sequel with a different title! Prabhu Dheva actually plays antagonist to Himesh Reshammiya’s lead character of Ravikumar, reprised from the earlier movie. The film is also produced and co-written by Himesh and has music by him, but it also marks the all-rounder’s debut as a director!
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (earlier films in 2007 and 2022) Anees Bazmee, director of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (which netted Rs. 185 crores in India) is helming the third part of the franchise that started with Priyadarshan’s cult horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was his last Hindi hit, in 2007. He repeats his 2022 lead pair, Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, with Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vidya Balan from the first film in the franchise, Naseeruddin Shah and Elnaaz Nouruzi as co-star. The music for this November release is likely to be scored by the franchise’s composer, Pritam. The film is again produced by T-Series Films.
Raid 2 (earlier film in 2018) Ajay Devgn once again plays an upright Income-Tax official in this sequel to Raid (a Rs. 100 crores grosser), which is helmed again by Raj Kumar Gupta. Vaani Kapoor is the new leading lady, while Riteish Deshmukh is the antagonist. This is yet another T-Series franchise.
Tumblr media
Welcome to the Jungle (earlier films in 2007 and 2015) Ahmed Khan directs this multi-star adventure that will try and reprise the whacky mood of its predecessors. Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, child artiste Vrihi Kodvara, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and more are in the cast, including singers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh. Jio Studios join Firoz Nadiadwala in producing the third part in his franchise of Welcome and Welcome Back, with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal repeated from the earlier movie. What remains to be seen is whether they will be playing the same iconic characters of Rajiv and Dr. Ghunghroo, which they had done earlier, with Paresh featuring in both instalments though Akshay was only there in the first.

Alright, I’ve been on this website long enough that I think I’m starting to be viewed as a bot.
I’m not a bot, I swear, I’m the child of shadows for no reason other than the fact that that’s my Ao3. Teenage me thought that was cool, current me agrees, haters can keep hating (there are no haters yet so let’s not make that a thing, yeah?)
you can call me shadow 🙃.
im Indian (south indian, I know Tamil and Hindi and also Spanish), but I’ve never spent more than two months at a time in India. Actually, I spent about 90% of my life in Canada and the US.
My Ao3

My Fandoms:
I tend to drift a lot, and I’m obsessed with everything, so we’re going to split it down the middle.
I’ve forgotten a lot of the books I’ve read, so a lot might not be on the list. Feel free to DM me with arguments, agreements, book recs, or just anything, I love conversation.
Stuff I’ve written/read for:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (as of July 2024, I’ve only ever written PJO)
Star Wars (sue me, I love the prequels)
Harry Potter
HTTYD
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Big Hero 6
Books I LOVE:
The Inheritance Games (By Jennifer Lynn Barnes, her work is incredible)
Powerless (Lauren Roberts)
Ana Huang and Rina Kent are two authors who never grew out of their Wattpad phase, but their work is pretty good.
Shatter Me (Tahereh Mafi)
Once Upon a Broken Heart (Stephanie Garber)
Caraval (Stephanie Garber, and im scared to finish legendary bc apparently Scarlett and Julian break up?)
(booktok has me on a chokehold)
KOTLC (Shannon Messenger)
A Good Girls Guide to Murder (I read this when I lived in Canada, it’s a trivia point)
The Lunar Chronicles (Marissa Meyer)
The Land of Stories (Chris Colfer, iconic and always connects to good memories)
Warrior Cats (I binge read it in sixth grade and somehow still keep up)
(I’ve read a lot of books, just dm me, idc if you don’t follow me)
Books that I have read, but didn’t exactly enjoy:
the love hypothesis (ali hazelwood)
icebreaker (Hannah Grace, 🤮)
Bridgerton kinda deserves to be on this list, To Sir Philip, With Love specifically.
Rina Kent is on that list above bc her books sound good in summaries, but she writes like an eleven-year-old on fanfiction.net
Twilight (Stephanie Meyer, Edward and Jacob should’ve ditched Bella and run off together, bc that is a story I would pay to see)
Fourth Wing (Rebecca Yarros, it’s good but I wouldn’t want everyone knowing every time I had sex, and violence is a terrible nickname)
Movies/TV Shows I LOVE:
fantastic beasts (10/10)
Every single Deepika Padukone movie ever.
almost every single SRK movie ever
DEADPOOL (convinced me to go to a middle school talent show and do standup comedy)
The Adam Project (walker scobell is iconic)
on that vein, I absolutely LOVE the new PJO series
most things in the MCU (she-hulk was traumatizing)
The AGGGTM series (no comment bc it was amazing)
im always looking for new friends, so just dm me and I will def bother you until you file a lawsuit.

APHRODITE
Tumblr media
Goddess of love, fertility, and beauty, Aphrodite still remains powerful in comparison to the rest of the Greek pantheon due to the timeless prevalence of love and sex in society. She has been known to assume various guises, man or woman, over the years—but presently she shows herself as a Hindu woman, most often adorned in beautiful and intricate traditional dress and jewelry. The most marked of these would be the nose ring she sports—the Nath—which is associated in Hindu culture with marriage and fertility.
Aphrodite is very naturally a charismatic and alluring figure. She is understated, elegant, but thrives in the spotlight and loves to be complimented and admired. It has been remarked that she can be quite shallow and mean-spirited at times due to her focus on beauty and romance. This also leads her to be extremely curious and cunning—she immensely enjoys hearing of her brethren's romances, and even more than that, tampering with them. She is nothing if not a fiend for some drama. On top of that, Aphrodite can be very deceitful and selfish. She holds her power with a vice grip and will do anything to maintain her popularity among mortals.
As of right now, she still resides on Mount Olympus primarily. Her own arrogance reflects itself even in this, as her luscious Olympian palace cannot compare to anything on Earth.
Artemis holds a particular disdain for Aphrodite, as she has seen the ramifications of drawing her attention. Positive or not, things tend to turn out quite badly for the parties involved. What is seen as a good thing by the Goddess of love may not bode well for everyone else.

KNOW THE DARK TRUTH OF CELEBRITY WORLD
Bollywood stars are also human beings like ordinary people. A tide of emotions rises in them as well. These stars, who meet each other warmly at parties, are in fact so surrounded by a feeling of competition, jealousy, and insecurity that the pressure of this keeps pushing them towards depression. To avoid this, they resort to liquor or medications,  due to which this depression gets worse, due to which it is difficult to handle both success and failure. Last year, on June 15, 2020, when the news of the suicide of film artist Sushant Singh Rajput was published, the entire nation was stunned. . What happened due to which the star, while moving towards this stardom of the film world, taking his life by hanging.
Why only one Sushant, who lives a luxurious life on screen, shows romance with beautiful heroines, Superman who beats ten-ten in one punch and makes millions crazy with his style, charging crores for each film. There is so much in the real-life and reel life of the Venus of Bollywood which is shocking.
Deepika Padukone, the heroine of films like 'Piku', 'Chhapaak', 'Chennai Express, 'Bajirao Mastani', has also been a victim of clinical depression, which she disclosed at the World Economic Forum in the year 2020. Guru Dutt, a well-known director of the Indian film industry in the seventies, producer of 'Pyaasa', 'CID' and 'Kaagaz Ke Phool' and the best actor, was found dead in his apartment in 1964. The reason being, he had ended his life by consuming a lot of alcohol and sleeping pills.
Synonymous with success, director Manmohan Desai, who gave films like 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Coolie' and 'Mard', died in 1994 at his Gir village home. No one could understand why the 19-year-old Divya Bharti, who had made crores of people crazy in the films 'Shola Aur Shabnam' and 'Deewana', jumped off the fifth floor or Silk Smitha, the sex bomb of the South. Why did he embrace death?
Talking about some more names in this, MTV's famous VJ Nafisa Joseph, Jiah Khan, who has worked with Amitabh and Aamir, Indian TV industry's girl bride Pratyusha Banerjee, TV actor Kushal Punjabi, as many names as can be taken. Can't believe that this can also be the face of this glam world. There are many reasons behind these famous names of the Bollywood industry full of glamour, fame, and glitz going into depression or suicide in the final stage of depression. Let us try to take a look at them-

Remembering Jiah Khan on her 10th Death Anniversary, a Young Actress Who Passed Away at the Age of 25
Tumblr media
Summary: On the 10th death anniversary of Jiah Khan, a beloved Bollywood actress, here is a glimpse into her prolific career in the film industry from inception.
Jiah Khan changed her name to Nafisa Khan after Gia, a movie starring Angelina Jolie (1998). The actress was born on 20 February 1988 to her parents Rabiya Amin, a yesteryear Bollywood actress known for her role in Dulha Bikta Hai by Tahir Husain, and Ali Rizvi Khan. She studied in New York at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts after getting done with A-levels in film studies and literature in London. But soon she quit her studies in between on receiving an offer for a film from Mumbai.
She was 16 when Mahesh Bhatt offered her the lead role in 2004 for Tumsa Nahin Dekha. But Jiah backed out from the role as she felt the character was too mature for her. Thereafter she starred in Nishabd, her Bollywood debut in 2007, which was a controversial film for its storyline of an older man falling for a young girl, despite being married. The movie was directed by Ram Gopal Verma, and Amitabh Bachchan played her love interest.
The plot of an illicit affair was compared to the Hollywood classic Lolita of 1962. However, the character portrayal by Jiah Khan seemed genuine as she exuded attitude, confidence, and sex appeal. For this, she even was nominated for her performance as the ‘Best Debutant’. Then she landed with Ghajini in 2008, which was a super hit movie starring Amir Khan. The movie was a remake of a 2005 film by A R Murugadoss, of the same name, which had the actor Surya of the fame 'Raktha Charitra'.
Before the release of Ghajini, there were rumors that Jiah Khan is the step-sister of Amir Khan, as the latter’s father had worked in Dulha Bikta Hai with Rabiya, Jiah’s mother. But the rumors were ended after clarification. Then the actress moved on to Chance Pe Dance by Ken Ghosh in 2010. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor. She was then replaced by Genelia D’Souza after shooting a good number of scenes for the project.
However, she starred in Housefull, a hit comedy film in the same year. Jiah Khan was the supporting actress in Housefull, which contained a huge star cast. Sajid Khan was the director of the movie. The film starred big names such as Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, and Lara Dutta. Here, Jiah did the role of Akshay’s wife. But the film, unfortunately, remained the last one where Jiah was seen on the big screen. Because on 3 June 2013, the actress reportedly died of suicide and was found dead in Juhu, Mumbai, in her flat. She was found hanging and a suicide note was recovered after a probe by CBI. Jiah was too young at that time and passed away at the tender age of 25.

Indian cinema, commonly referred to as Bollywood, is a vibrant film industry that is known for producing movies that combine drama, music, and dance. With a history dating back to 1913, when the first full-length Indian feature film was released, Bollywood has grown into one of the largest film industries in the world, producing hundreds of movies each year. The name "Bollywood" is a play on the words "Bombay," which is now known as Mumbai, the city where the industry is based, and "Hollywood," the famous film industry in the United States. Bollywood is known for producing films that are colorful, extravagant, and full of song and dance. These movies are usually several hours long and can be categorized into various genres, such as romance, action, comedy, and drama. One of the most unique aspects of Indian cinema is its use of music and dance. Bollywood films often include multiple song and dance sequences, which are used to express the emotions of the characters, advance the plot, and entertain the audience. The music in Bollywood movies is diverse, with influences from Indian classical music, folk music, and Western music. Many of the songs from Bollywood movies have become hits and are popular not only in India but also around the world.Another characteristic of Indian cinema is the prominence of its actors. Bollywood stars are highly regarded in India and have a large following. Some of the most famous actors in Bollywood include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan. Bollywood actresses are also highly popular and include names such as Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor.Bollywood films often have a strong cultural influence and are reflective of Indian society. They often address social issues such as poverty, corruption, and gender inequality, and showcase Indian traditions and values. However, Bollywood has also been criticized for perpetuating certain stereotypes and for its portrayal of women. In recent years, there has been a push for more progressive and diverse representation in Bollywood movies.Despite its focus on entertainment, Indian cinema has also been recognized for its artistic merit. Many Bollywood movies have won awards at international film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. »

Warnings: B99 references, fluff, Y/n being a little evil 🤏
You sigh exasperatedly as your brother begged you to come with them because they were short a member to have a paintball match. "Why don't you take Paddy with you?" You asked, "I'm sure he'd love to come."
"I already did! But he's got homework." "Seriously?" He nodded, "And I told you, I'm not coming if he is." You pointed at the blue eyed boy standing behind your brother.
"Title of your sex tape." Harrison chimed in and earned a glare from both Tom and me. Tom turned to you and continued to beg, you sat on the bar stool of the kitchen deciding not to budge. "Tom, I hate him." You whispered, motioning towards Harrison who was busy scrolling on his phone.
"Hate is a strong word." "Yeah that's why I used it." You defended. "Oh come on love, I'm not that terrible." Harrison joined in the conversation.
"Title of your sex tape." Now you shot back taking your revenge, there wasn't really a valid reason for you to hate him but his flirty mannerisms really annoyed you, it wasn't that he was not easy on the eyes; you always felt he was a bit too smug.
"I'll take that as a compliment, thanks." You narrowed your eyes at him. "I mean just think of it, we'll be in a room, you with a gun and against me; doesn't that sound a bit of fun?" And then the cogs in your brain start moving and you begin to imagine shooting where it might hurt him the most. After you finish painting a mental picture you thought you laughed manically in your head but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. "Let's do it!" You told your brother, a lot more excited than before.
"S-should I be worried?" You couldn't believe it, Harrison was scared? Of you? This was going to be great. "You bought this on yourself man." Tuwaine clapped his back and everyone piled in the car, on to the paintball arena. You were bubbling with excitement the whole time, this was the first time you were so happy to do some activity that included Harrison. As you were gearing up Harrison walked to you, "Good luck out there Y/n," He bent down to your ear, "you're gonna need it." He whispered and sent you a cheeky wink.
"Believe me," you let out a dark chuckle, "you will be needing it more than me." You said looking him in dead in those ocean blue eyes and then picking up the paintball gun, scaring him a bit more.
"I am loving this color on you Y/n." You thanked Tuwaine for his compliment and divided yourselves into your teams making sure you were against Harrison. Tom, Harry and you were on one team whereas Harrison, Tuwaine and Sam on the other. The game stared off by everyone going easy on the other and then everything went to hell within fifteen minutes. Boys. But for you, your sole purpose was to take out Harrison in the best possible way; who knew all those hours of playing video games with your brothers would finally pay off?
An hour later and you and Harrison were the only ones left, and things just got more interesting. You were walking around searching for Harrison and then you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, pulling you and pressing you against the wall; of course it was Harrison. You looked up at him and stared into his eyes, you could see the glint of mischief in them. "Do it then." You whispered and closed your eyes taking your defeat with all the pride left in you. But then the unexpected happened, instead of feeling the pain of the paintball you fell his soft lips on yours and you didn't pull away; you even let him deepen the kiss, his free hand was now on your waist pulling you even more closer if possible.
You pulled away breathless and once again looking at him and thought of the perfect plan, trying to be as subtle as possible you swiftly lifted the gun, aimed at his vest covered chest and pulled the trigger and before he knew it you were sprinting out. At the end of the line Tom and Harry were cheering for you as Sam and Tuwaine groaned in defeat as Harrison emerged from behind you. "Ha ha in your face sucker!" You teased Harrison but nonetheless he was smiling proudly and kept thinking to himself how seeing you smile was worth it.
Before you and the gang could head back Harrison caught up to you while you were alone. "Uh, Y/n?" He stuttered, "Can we talk about earlier?"
"What's wrong, surprised the Harrison charm didn't work on me?" "Well, yes and no." He shrugged, "But I wouldn't call that the Harrison charm." "Then what is the Harrison charm?" You crossed your arms over your chest waiting for his explanation.  "Why don't I take you on a date and see for yourself?"
"Hard pass." You chuckled. "One date," he pleaded, "please?" After a lot of pleading you finally went out with him and you did end up falling for the Harrison charm and the charmer too.
