For the color fanfic ask: white
Thank you for the ask! (from this ask game)
🤍 White: What's a fanfic scenario or idea you'd like someone else to write so that you can read it?
*glances at all the fic fragments in my "Ideas I Probably Won't Write" folder in shame* Okay, so I have a few ideas here.
Steve/Thor getting together fic where neither of them realized they were into men until they met each other, so Steve goes to Sam and Bucky for help because they're in a happy relationship and maybe they could give him advice/help him out, and Thor goes to Loki and Valkyrie because they're both queer and maybe they can give him advice/help him out, and hilarity ensues because of all the "helpful advice." I would love to write this fic, but I have so much trouble writing Steve, and humor really isn't my strong suit. I have the whole thing plotted out, but I just don't think I'm the right author for it. Alas.
Another SamBucky fake dating fic. Look, the fake dating trope is one of my all time favorites, and SamBucky is my favorite ship. I just want more of these fics because I love them so much.
This is kind of maybe self-indulgent or whatever, but I remember seeing a post somewhere where someone (I cannot for the life of me remember who) said they wanted to write a sequel to "The Promise of Cheesecake and a Decent Wine." I want to read that sequel. I want to know where they would take the story next if they ever did write it. But also I think this is maybe a little bit of a cheap answer because I think if that author wanted to try to co-write a sequel to that fic, I might be willing to give co-writing a shot? Idk, that story feels done to me, but maybe they have a really compelling idea. I'm just really curious about it.
I could keep going for a long long time, but I feel like this is probably a good stopping point before I just start listing every fic in this file lmao.

Shame Queer Fanfic Sequel coming soon..
Right now, the fan casting is still a work in progress, as I am working on fleshing out some of the characters as the story goes by.
CW because I have to: This fic is from a queer angle. Brandon is uncovering that part of the trauma of his sex addiction comes from repressing queer attractions with his very real and valid straight ones. There will also be memories of abuse from his father to him and Sissy although the abuse was not sexual. In Brandon’s case, however, it is homophobic and biphobic.
Synopsis: The fic events happen five years after the event of the original Shame.
Brandon Sullivan is the successful Associate Director of Spectre and a recovering sex addict who is still coming to terms with trauma from his father and fear of intimacy. Brandon has also formed three meaningful friendships outside of work that have helped keep him grounded. But when Esteban Izquierdo, the new Venezuelan-American co-associate director is hired, he forms a relationship with Brandon that goes beyond the professional and will make Brandon see everything he knows in a new light. Esteban himself will have to face his own demons too.
Characters from the original Shame (meaning, not mine):
Tumblr media
James Dale Badge as David Fisher. Brandon’s boss and the director of Spectre Consulting. Divorced and only a little more humble at times than before. He has a secret.
Tumblr media
Nicole Beharie as Marianne. The colleague Brandon attempted to date.
Tumblr media
Carey Mulligan as Sissy Sullivan. She will appear later. Sissy is now married, living in Los Angeles, which left Brandon with more pain to deal with, but who will visit him. Still working on casting her husband.
Tumblr media
And of course, Michael Fassbender as Brandon Sullivan, now a recovering sex addict still struggling with other traumas and coming to terms with his sexuality. Although more sporadically, he has engaged in sex with both men and women, but rationalises his sex with men until Esteban reveals parts of himself that Brandon might have in common.
MY ORIGINAL CHARACTERS (still a work in progress)
Tumblr media
Pedro Pascal as Esteban Izquierdo, a Venezuelan-born American who enters Spectre Consulting as an associate director, not knowing that he and Brandon will have an effect in each other’s lives in more ways than the professional. Esteban is charismatic, intelligent, bisexual and proud of it.
Tumblr media
Edgar Ramirez as Ale Martinez, a mutual friend of Brandon’s and Esteban’s who is also from Venezuela. He becomes a close friend of Brandon after Brandon confides his hurt for Sissy moving to Los Angeles. He is gay and meets Brandon on a date that did not go as planned, but got Brandon a good friend instead.
Tumblr media
Wagner Moura as Joao. Half of a couple that are friends with Ale and form a friendship with Brandon after Ale introduces them. (Work in Progress fleshing out, if needed).
Tumblr media
Cristina Chang as Tina; the other half of the couple who Brandon meets through Ale and forms friendship with. (Work in progress fleshing out if needed).
Tumblr media
Matthew Goode as Simon. Esteban’s best friend in New York. British, but whose accent switches to New Yorker with ease; happily married to a woman and openly bisexual. Still fleshing out and still working on casting his wife.
Tumblr media
Deepika Padukone (in photos only) as Malini, the woman Esteban almost married, but couldn’t due to her sudden death.

She’s never been in love.  It’s an odd realization to have as she’s packing her things and he’s given up on asking her to stay. Now he just obstructs her on occasion, arguing that things which are hers are really his.

The girl is a loner.
Of her own will and desire, of course. Not because she’s a little too open about her opinions (particularly about romance), and a little too closed-off when they ask her why she has them. Not because she’s terrified what her fellow ninth graders will do to her when they realize she has no soulmark. Not because she figures that she might as well just push them away first, before they can push her.
To Unmask A Witch by @agnezztealeaf
Original fiction Language: English Prompt: Friendship Genre: Fantasy Words: 4457 CW: Discussions around amatonormativity and heteronormativity, references to blood and violence
Summary:
It wasn’t that the cottage at the outskirts of the village was actually run-down or dilapidated, but if you squinted and looked at it through your eyelashes in dim light, you could imagine that it could be. It wasn’t that it was a ruckle, it was that the children thought it should be one.
You see, if a witch lived in a cottage, then that cottage should be falling apart, its windows murky with mould, the roof broken and roof shingles scattered on the garden path and in the flowerbeds, and the garden a mess of weeds and rotting greens. It felt insulting, the children thought, that an otherwise perfectly scary and threatening witch should live in such a charming and well-kept little house. So, when they hid in the forest near the cottage, staking it out, or walked past it on their way to a friend’s house, they squinted and imagined what should have been there, instead of what really was.
Annie of Anglesey by @writelikeanaro

Original fiction Language: English Category: Short Stories Prompt: Friends and Pride Genre: Superheroes/Slice of Life Words: 5232 CWs: Background romantic relationship mentioned, discussion of aphobia and amatonormativity, bomb mention
Summary:
Some scars aren’t physical and can be all the worse for it. But maybe a woman brimming with her own hard-won self confidence and the new friends they pick up afterwards can help Allen overcome the hurtful words from his past. After all, if a dozen new friends think you’re great and a literal god chose you as a Champion it shouldn’t be so hard, right?
“Oh.” He blinked. “People usually say it’s weird that I don’t want people- women- flirting with me.”
“Boundaries are boundaries.” She waved a hand dismissively. From the depths of her hood, her eyes gleamed with light from a passing car and briefly lit up more details; the casual ease of her expression, her slightly lidded eyes, the soft curves of her warm, brown face. Shame it didn’t do much for him beyond the realisation that she really was that nonchalant about it, and also quite beautiful.
And A Monster Steals Your Children by @arosnowflake

But he’d said it, hadn’t he, at Dressrosa? That if it all went wrong Law wanted to die by his side. Naturally, it had been 80% about Doflamingo, but there had been a part of him screaming: he’s here and in danger because of you, because he does the right thing just because he can, because he is selfish and insanely determined about those he calls friends and you knew that and still let him get close, because he looked at you and called you a good man and the least you can do for someone like that is die alongside them.

2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 for the ?s NERD !!
35 Questions for Fanfic Writers!
calling me a nerd is homophobic and i will be suing you in the tort of queers, see you down the courthouse, cunt (thank you for all of these, i enjoyed sweating as i forgot every tv trope in the entire world!!)
2. Why do you write fanfiction?
because tom hanks is a coward.
he owes me 40 minutes of additional AndyEddie scenes and i decided to rectify that personally. usual general reason; i write what i want to read and have 0 shame in reading my own fics. additional reason; i got tired of bad or boring portrayals of gay men. i want stories as interesting as everybody else gets but written by and for gay men, so I started doing just that.
4. Are there any writers that inspire you?
for writing, Mark Dapin took his book Spirit House and hit me square in the face (inspirationally). honestly, while i wouldn’t say reading other people’s fanfics (like yours, gimme another chapter) inspires me, it brings me so much joy that that alone is inspirational. (i’m not gonna tag everyone because frankly, they know because they have receipts of me telling them i love their fic)
6. What element of writing do you find comes easily?
Answered here but what i should’ve said was none of them, writing sucks!!
8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
Edward “Hillbilly” Jones, big gay ball of low self-esteem! if i’m not writing Eddie’s POV, consider it a flex because it’s a step outside the old comfort zone!!
10. What’s your favorite genre to write for?
so I was recently told (by @ktredshoes!!) my writing was “romantic” and that, I think, sums it up better than i ever could. i love writing romance – the idea of two people devotedly in love with each other including all the trials that causes – underpinned by various genres. (i got a biggest, softest boner for sci-fi and historical period dramas on the side)
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
well, I’m fucking stoked to write an AndyEddie modern AU (there’s two of them in the docs; a raunchy romp of fuckbuddies-to-lovers where Eddie works at Dunkin’ Donuts, and a more serious one from Andy’s POV where he’s a therapist)
i’m working on a sequel to When it Rains, it Pours!! fucking stupid, right? it’s about the years Eddie and Andy spend together after the war in Boston, living their lives and dealing with domestic problems such as the pests nibbling Andy’s petunias!!
I’m always excited about the AndyEddie Avatar AU but rarely talk about it because it’s essentially unwritable; the avatar universe has distinct visual and lore design that isn’t really compatible in writing. besides that, another fic idea bit me in the ass yesterday but you’ll have to wait to see if it comes to anything lmao
14. What’s your favorite fandom to write for?
this question is unlawful. do not pass go, do not collect $200.
16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
none of my pleasure tropes contain guilt, let that be said!!
enemies-to-lovers gets me every damn time, mutual pining, robots (kills me instantly, maximum damage), general whump to be frank, last stand (or perceived last stand), evil parallel universe, god complex, accent slip up, the satisfying payoff of a good chekchov’s smoking gun, big softie, save the person not the cause, revenge is best served violent, found family, unhealthy devotion to another party, silent but deadly
18. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?
probably First Priority atm, I’m just ripping off alien to allow Eddie to fuck his robot boyfriend. i did write a wilder fic a long time ago, it was Skip/Malarkey about ancient Judea, that was wildly self-satisfying at the time

Episode 22: Courage and Loyalty
Tumblr media
797/488. The Imperial aristocracy continue to think they have a shot against Reinhard and his crew; they continue to be wrong. Littenheim fires on his own supply ships to make an escape route for himself, sowing seeds of distrust among his subordinate soldiers. Meanwhile, Kircheis is nice, Mittermeyer is snarky, and Merkatz is in a tight spot.
You may have noticed that the official Icebergs summary for episode 22 is like, a fraction of the usual length! Well, this episode is a fraction of the usual interesting things happening. As you probably got from the narrator’s heavy-handed foreshadowing, shit is about to get pretty intense in the Empire, and episode 22 is basically treading water before that happens—the calm before the storm, if you will. So I’m going to take my cue from LoGH and, in a vaguely connected sequel to my episode 18 post and Rebecca’s episode 12 post, talk for a little bit about what’s really on everyone’s mind:
Imperial Hairstyles
Okay, so haircuts in LoGH may not merit a super-deep queer analysis (you’ll have to wait for hair color for that; no I’m not kidding), but as I’ve mentioned before, they do have some characterization significance and never is that more glaring than in episode 22.
Fancy Boys of the Aristocracy
Tumblr media
You’re welcome for the nightmares.
Back in episode 18, I touched on the fact that Braunschweig’s apparent George Washington cosplay wig (unpowdered variety) is one of many indicators not just of how old-fashioned he is, but specifically of how regressive he is. Unlike Reinhard and his subordinates, who talk varying levels of openly about what they hope to see change in a hypothetical Reinhard-led society—this can be boiled down more or less to “the path of your life not being determined by how you were born”—the goal of the nobles is to prevent change. Which helps to explain why so many noble underlings have their hair styled like that of a young Venetian man in the 1500s. No seriously, spot the difference:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you said “hats” you were correct, that is the only difference.
Anyway, at the risk of underestimating the LoGH creative team, my guess is that there isn’t any monumental sociopolitical significance to the particular era that inspired the standard Imperial noble haircut. Rather, like the ostentatious 18th-century-esque ponytails sported by men of Braunschweig’s rank, I think we’re just supposed to get a general impression of “these idiots are extremely out of touch.” And... yes, that message is coming through loud and clear.
Tumblr media
This is what people were really like during the Italian Renaissance, probably.
Other than Flegel (above), the only Standard-Haircut Fancy Boy you should be paying attention to is Lansburg, who can be spotted below, on the far left:
Tumblr media
But I don’t have much to say about him at the moment besides that for some reason he is the noble who repulses me the least, visually speaking.
Finally, I’d be seriously remiss in a post about Imperial hairstyles not to at least bring up Wilhelm von Littenheim, whom I have so far failed to mention—despite the fact that he is co-leading the nobles’ effort against Reinhard—because the most interesting thing about him is his hair.
Tumblr media
I’m grateful for Littenheim’s existence for one reason, and that reason is this highly relatable gif.
Sadly for Littenheim, though, Mecklinger seemingly exists to put his mustache to shame, and there’s only so far a big purple hairbow will get you in this world, so that’s all the space on Icebergs he’s going to get.
Wahlen and Lutz: Hair Twins
Tumblr media
And as long as we’re on the subject of hair, allow me to introduce you to Cornelius Lutz (left) and August Wahlen (right), whose hairstyles are mirror images of each other, and otherwise seem to have basically the same character design. I have trouble picking them out in a crowd individually, but when they’re together, the mirror-hair thing is a great help for me—and I hope it will be for you too!
I also hope you enjoyed this frivolous Empire-side post, because it’ll be the last one like it for quite some time. Buckle up.
Stray Tidbits
According to Rebecca, “like good boys” isn’t strictly speaking an accurate translation here, but it’s still the one we’ll be using as Icebergs canon, because Mittermeyer totally would say that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The question of the inherent value of being willing to die for a cause has been a theme in recent episodes, and if you still had any doubts that LoGH takes a hard stance against indiscriminate self-sacrifice, this frankly ridiculous scene should put them to rest:
Tumblr media
In episode 21, Jessica asked, “Do you think it’s all right to commit any atrocity as long as you’re prepared to die?” In episode 22, the over-the-top absurdity of the Imperial nobles confirms the subtler Alliance-side answer: No, the fact alone of being willing to die for it does not make your cause just or worthwhile.
On a similar note, here one of Littenheim’s soldiers gruesomely takes him to task for the pointlessness of the war that killed his friend—right before pulling out and detonating a bomb. I can’t decide if this gesture is sad, funny, or romantic as hell, so I’m going to go with all of the above.
Tumblr media
Free idea: a 90s-sitcom-inspired fanfic about adult!Konrad adopting and raising child!Konrad and the hijinks they get up to. You can call it: The Konrads.
Tumblr media
The only reason this lazy trope is even remotely forgivable is because judging by how fucking on the nose it is, it’s possible that LoGH actually invented showing a picture of someone’s newborn babies right before they get blown up—and, if not, it surely perfected the “art.”

The first three scenes of the Shame Queer Fanfiction sequel have been drafted. And of course, we have Pedro as the face claim for Esteban Izquierdo, the person Brandon falls for, but doesn’t know what to do with that information, especially in light of his recovery from sex addiction.
I am still wondering if I should publish it here.

I feel bad that I couldn’t finish the birthday twins special thing. But the fic is on… Will publish tomorrow in another account. Meanwhile…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Any plans ?” Esteban leaned on Brandon’s desk winking at him.
Brandon looked up surprised. Nobody other than David, his boss has invited him for anything after work.
“Just work.” He answered.
“Come on, Brandon. You have done nothing but work these past three days. You need to relax a bit.”
Brandon found endearing the way Esteban pronounced his name. A very New York accent but the inflections of a person whose native language is Spanish.
“Esteban, I don’t know.” Brandon replied. “I need to get this pitch done.”
“I can help you with that tomorrow.”
“Would you be able to, though?”
“That’s why you guys hired me, isn’t it?” Esteban then turned off the monitor. “Let’s go have a drink tonight, relax and I will help tomorrow if you need me.”
“All right, stubborn man. I’ll take it.” Brandon chuckled and then they both walked to the door.
