#deep dark biome

I had a dream last night that the new Pale Garden biome in Minecraft extended through the ground into the Deep Dark and when they merge together they make a Pale Dark biome and it was cool looking as hell and also scary as hell

Made new blocks like rooted stone or something that could be harvested for both wood and stone. Looked a little like that stone forest from Hilda but with more Deep Dark shades of blue and various foilage

Creaking mobs spawned but didn’t attack because their cores were too far away or something. The Warden spawned with tiny Warden babies for some reason (like baby zombies but baby Wardens)

There were letter statues like in Terraria except made out of Copper. That’s about it on the details I remember

Well okay, one other thing about the dream that’s totally unrelated to the post though is there was a giant Enderman about the size of 8 giant zombies stacked atop each other just standing on the beach holding a spyglass for no reason

I’m slowly learning how to use commands in Minecraft and I have successfully gotten a Warden to spawn in an Ancient City (that I found due to commands) in creative mode. I’ve never seen one in like it’s natural habitat before. I summoned one from an egg once.

Currently 3am in a discord text chat talking a server friend through her first deep dark encounter, since she hasn’t really played minecraft since before the update and doesn’t know much about it.

How it started: “Wow this is like an XP farm, this weird dirt gives me almost a full level when I break it” *cue me explaining the various sculk blocks and mechanics while she also googles them*

How it’s going:

“Ok I can never return to the server. The second I do I’m dead. I alt-F4′d as soon as I saw the arms coming out of the ground” lmao

she logged back on and booked it in the other direction and lived. admin friend has joined the chat to laugh

Update:

she went back to the deep dark biome and triggered another shrieker by accident (not enough time has passed for her warning level to be at 0 yet, oh no)

also i’ve just been nicknamed by both her and the admin friend:

I’m having a great time. I get to info-dump, and experience the text-based reaction of someone encountering the deep dark while knowing very little about it. Incredible time for the oracle turnip. 

also she summoned another warden and ran like hell lol

Also decided I needed a proper tree farm and how do you make a proper tree farm with oak? You put a roof on those fuckers so they stop DOING THIS. Felt like every tree that grew while I was trying to slap a roof on them was giant!! GET SHORTENED, BASTARDS

Diamonds!! I got SEVEN!! So three of that has to go to a pick, obviously, but what should I do with the other 4.....

Ngl, I crept up there, terrified with every step, stood in the tunnel for like 30 seconds, then went NAH and booked it. But hey, at the bottom of this shaft(where i came in while mining in a very scared and slow way) we had lava so! Diamonds and obsidian! You know what would be awesome? A zombie dungeon. *sigh* Of all the things a world would make me long for...

He sleebing on the slab. I guess he was trying to swoop and just, uh, got stuck. I got my first wing membrane from him when he finally woke up! Also why is there a slab? Did I not finish the roof? No, I did. I just MADE IT ONE BLOCK SHOTER THAN INTENDED. You know an 18x18 square contains 324 blocks? Congrats, now you do. I want my birch trees back.

Haven’t accomplished much but I got more stuff!

There are so many directions I would've taken the Minecraft movie but instead they made Jack Black Steve. Like there is so much tiny lore within the game even though it's a sandbox.

There is this sense of the world being bigger than you as you explore and you find structures like sunken pirate ships to the deep dark where the treasure is protected by an almost unstoppable Warden.

There is the End where you have a dragon that is protected by these sturdy pillars and crystals that help regain her health, along with all the endermen on the ground that seems to play a part in protecting her as well. And then there are cities that can only be unlocked once you defeat her. There is so much of a story there that could've been told.

There's the nether where there are so many more biomes to explore and there is already an established people in the nether with their own kind of bartering system and way of accepting you into their own. Piglins won't attack you if you seem to have something they want on you (gold) and they have to protect themselves from the hoglins. And there's fortresses you can find anywhere that are protected by withering bones and spirits made of fire. There are reinforced fortress protected by armored piglins and skeletons. There are ENDERMEN in the nether for a reason you don't know!

And even in the overworld, you have the villagers with a different type of people for every biome, and the pillagers along with the woodland mansions with sorcerers and trapped fairies, you have jungle temples and sand temples, you have the water temple that is surrounded by guardians, you have underwater structures that have drowned citizens of the city it once was trying to protect the treasure they still have.

There is so much world to be documented and to tell stories about but instead they did something that isn't even possible in the game cus piglins would turn into zombie piglins if they ever stepped foot through the portals. And whitewashed Steve again. Oh joy

You know what? I'm gonna make a Minecraft movie

This is a plot I banged out over the course of like three hours at work so bear with me.

Movie starts. Main Guy just got fired from his job or something. He goes home to his house, greets his dog, agonizes over how he's going to pay for said dog with this development. Dog comes up wanting to play fetch, has a mcguffin in its mouth. Main Guy takes it and fiddles with it that night.

Mcguffin activates.

Guy winds up in Minecraft world. Spends a day freaking out about everything. Finds a dirt house someone else made and spends the night there to escape the monsters.

There's a map there. Takes that to a village

Meets Alex. She doesn't speak.

Alex is in the middle of saving a village from an Illager raid. Main Guy helps.

It takes a turn into a rescue mission for captured Villagers. The Illagers are hunting for a Trial Chamber with a legendary weapon (the mace).

After that arc is complete, Main Guy has an Allay as a pet and a new friend in a Villager he saved. Gang's all there, all adventures from here on out will be with MG, Alex, Villager, and Allay.

They go to Alex's home base. It's neat, but it's very clear she's not the only one that's lived there.

MG manages to convey to Alex that he needs a way home. And she's got the Ender Dragon egg, but doesn't have the rest of the equipment to get to the End and make the portal home.

Trip into the Deep Dark, ancient city, Warden fight while getting diamonds.

Villager takes the diamonds and makes a pickaxe for them.

They get obsidian and make a Nether Portal. Trip to the Nether to find a fortress and get blaze rods and ender pearls.

While they're in the Nether, they come across the Wither Briar. It's a new biome that's spreading, wither roses everywhere, with a Wither at the center.

They get the supplies they need, but the Wither catches them and attacks. They barely make it out alive; Villager gets zombified.

Rush to a witch to get Villager healed.

It gets revealed that Alex and her friends once took on the Wither, but it turned out too destructive and they lost the battle and several friends. They split up then. The Wither's been terrorizing the local Piglins and spreading the zombie infection ever since.

MG gets up, determined, gearing up and reentering the Nether. Epic battle against the Wither. The Wither Briar dies, the Piglins rejoice.

MG, Alex, and Villager start gearing up to find the Stronghold, with help from the village, Piglins, witch, etc. MG gets a unique armor trim that's not in the game.

Melancholy travel. Alex and Villager are gonna miss MG a LOT, and he's considering whether or not he wants to leave.

Stronghold leads to the End, End City fight for an Elytra.

Final fight with the Ender Dragon, hesitation, then final goodbyes. The group all jumps into the portal together.

MG winds up back home in his bed, in the real world, but he still has his gear and the sword he used to slay the Ender Dragon with.

He gets the mcguffin that sent him to Minecraft in the first place and is about to destroy it. He second-guesses it. Epic montage of him grabbing the things he needs to go.

He puts on a blue shirt and dark jeans. He packs his bag with apples, a slice of cake, and a map. He grabs his dog, a fluffy gray one with a red collar, then he activates the mcguffin again.

End poem plays, followed by the credits rolling.

Post-credits at the end with Minecraft music playing, Steve rolls up to Alex's house as she and Villager are building a beacon out of the Nether Star the Wither dropped. He helps them finish it, the beacon shoots into the sky, then they go into her house.

Alex looks at the map hopefully, waiting for her friends as the sun goes down, but all it shows is hers and Steve's icons on it…then someone else's shows up, just barely at the border. It's one of the other "default" players.

End of movie.
