Hi!!! Stumbled upon your MC stuff and wanted to ask about your AU! I don't know where to begin so imma ask about your theory on the wardens! How do you think they came to be and how does everyone think about them?

The warden is a beast born of sculk, it shares a hivemind with the alien flora and is entirely made of its material. It came from another dimension and acts as a guardian to the sculk. A force of nature, like the creaking, made to protect the environment it was forged from against any organism deemed threat.

With the sculk having always been at the bottom of the food chain in the dimension it originates from it developed the warden to prevent being overharvested.

Even though the warden and the sculk are therefore technically the same doesn’t mean the warden is not its own seperate organism aswell, it’s difficult to explain, but think of the sculk as the mother creature the warden shares a brain with yet gets to act on its own accord even though they share the same base motivations. Some wardens build caves below the sculk to burrow within, others just merge back into the sculk, depends on the amount of autonomy they are given.

These are their AR designs (don’t mind the funky anatomy on the second one, wanted to test the textures more than anything, also a little older since my tablet is broken right now): they’re inspired by star-nosed moles for their claws and ability to dig, and a general bear in terms of body type to signal their strength. They also have many feelers all over their body, like whiskers of a cat to be able to navigate without eyes. The bright blue “face” has a lot of different sensory openings like those at the side of a snakes snout. Mouth can open basically anywhere because they’re technically not made of solid material.

Even though they appear more animal like they are actually very wise as again they share a mind with the sculk, which has been around for eons.

Due to their regenerative abilities for as long as there’s sculk around, they’re considered unkillable within tales.

i have a confession to make:

the reason i have disappeared from the rainworld fandom for so long is because i have become obsessed with minecraft. specifically, the warden and the deep dark.

i only mention this because i recently returned to rain world to play the watcher dlc, and now if i had a nickel for every time i have obsessed over a sentient colony of black mold i would have two nickels

one has the mental capacity of a godlike supercomputer and the other has the mental capacity of an autistic grizzly bear. i love them both dearly .
