Lokis metaphor kit antics
The foam apple would immediately become Loki’s favorite prop. He’d theatrically monologue with it every time Mobius tried to have a serious conversation. “Alas, the forbidden fruit. Who knew the true sin was stealing Mobius’ mediocre lunch.”
Every time Mobius starts to explain something serious, Loki would slowly pull out the metaphor kit, one item at a time, until Mobius snaps:
“Put the damn frog away, Loki!”
Loki, smirking: “I thought it was part of my… development.”
Loki would insist on upgrading the kit. “I require a miniature throne to symbolize my rightful place above such petty metaphors.”
Mobius: “You require therapy, but sure, let’s add a throne.”
Loki, mid-situation where things are spiraling out of control, suddenly pulls out the rubber chicken and squeezes it twice. “This is how you sound right now, Mobius.”
Mobius: “I knew giving you that kit was a mistake.”
Eventually, Loki starts offering metaphor lessons to other TVA agents. “You see, the rubber frog represents mobility through chaos. You must leap before you think. That’s what life is, really- a chaotic jump into the unknown.”
Mobius, walking in halfway through: “Oh god, he’s corrupting people.”

Shadow and Mirror
Read on AO3, written for this prompt
Cody has a new crush.
Well, a “crush” implies something much more childish than the point he’s reached in his life.
Cody has… felt a connection and really hit it off with someone he finds reasonably attractive.
His brothers are being less than supportive.
“He is my Jedi and one of my best friends,” Rex says, “but I just… for both your sakes, life will be so much easier if you don’t go for it.”
Cody is unfazed. “You do remember he was my Jedi Commander before he got promoted and took you with him, right? I know what he’s like, and I’m into it.”
Rex makes a face. “Uh, all due respect, Cody—”
Oh, this bitch.
“—but he’s changed in some pretty big ways since he split from Kenobi.”
“So’ve I.”
This earns him an eyeroll. “Yes, yes, you’ve discovered your romantic charisma and started charming the pants off of any sentient you encounter on leave. You do realize that’s part of the problem?”
“That I have game?”
“Skywalker doesn’t do casual,” Rex insists. “Open, maybe, if you talk about it, but he doesn’t do casual.”
After a moment of consideration, Cody shrugs. “I can work with that.”
“Can you?” Rex challenges. “Can you really deal with the full force of Anakin’s attention? With him losing his entire mind if you get hurt, and calling you up at three in the morning to chat, and promising you the galaxy in a bunch of flowery words that should be hyperbole, but really, really worryingly sounds literal and sincere?”
“…did you try dating him?”
“No, but I was there basically every time he hung with Amidala, and that shit continued past the point where he gave up on romantic seduction and settled into friendship,” Rex says, more of a grumpy complaint than anything, “and she’s just as weird as he is when it comes to all that, so it’s no skin off her back to match his energy, but you are not on their level.”
“Rude.”
“I’m just saying,” Rex grits out from between clenched teeth, “that you like to have fun, and Anakin likes to dedicate every morsel of crazy knocking around his brain to whichever poor soul ended up in his affections.”
“I feel like insulting your CO that much is grounds for a court martial.”
“Echo told him, to his face, that he occasionally seemed crazy as a bag of tooka kits and about as hinged as a sliding door. General Skywalker took a second to process, and then laughed. He doesn’t care, not if it’s from a friend.”
Cody hums. “Which you are.”
“Yes.”
“Enough to warn me away before I break his heart?” Cody asks. Rex looks away, and Cody can only chuckle. “You’re not that subtle, Rex.”
“I’m trying to make sure you do what’s best for both of you,” Rex insists, glancing at Cody for only a moment before breaking eye contact again, “so Anakin doesn’t get disappointed, and so you’re not walking in blind when it comes to him being… the most.”
Cody snorts. “I can handle Skywalker, Rex. I may not be a Jedi or a Senator, but I can handle one brat with a smart mouth, a bad attitude, and a couple of super-powers.”
Rex grimaces. “I mean… it’s not really… that simple. The Force stuff, I mean.”
There’s something a little odd to Rex’s voice with that one, more than just the weird pauses. Cody doesn’t dismiss it quite as easily as he might have. Instead, he carefully asks, “the whole ‘Chosen’ thing some of the Shinies were gossiping about? Kenobi said it was an old superstition more than anything, a metaphor taken too literally, and that even the Jedi argue about it.”
“When?”
Cody’s expression must speak for him, because Rex clarifies without prompting.
“When did Kenobi say that?”
Cody looks past him at the wall, frowning as he thinks. Rex waits, and doesn’t take it too personally; they know each other too well for that. Finally, Cody shrugs. “A couple months in. Skywalker was still a Jedi Commander with the 212th.”
“So, before Mortis.”
Oh, for fuck’s sake. “This has to do with that shitshow?”
Rex looks uncomfortable. “You… aren’t 501st.”
“Yeah, and?”
“Well… Kenobi didn’t get possessed. Or channel a god. He just used an extra weird lightsaber for a bit.”
Cody gives it a few moments, and then finally says, “Rex.”
His brother continues to look uncomfortable.
“What did that place do to Skywalker and Tano?”

-- study tips!
this'll be a bit of a longer post. during my time working at my learning center, we were taught to help students implement these strategies to have more effective study sessions. below the cut i explain all of them in a little bit more detail so hopefully you all will be able to try some of them out as the school year takes off!
music
how easy is it to remember the lyrics to a catchy song you hear all the time on the radio? even if it's not a song you particularly like, the chorus can wiggle its way into your memory. try transforming the concept you're learning into the lyrics to a song you already know.
visualization
everything happens twice: once in your mind and once in reality. try to visualize the concepts you're learning.
metaphor, analogy, simile
this method can be used to connect the unfamiliar with the familiar. (blank) is like (blank).
reciprocal teaching
this method is my favorite. grab a classmate, friend, family member (anyone that will listen really) and explain the concepts you're learning to them. encourage them to ask you questions to get yourself doing some critical thinking. we remember 90% of what we teach to someone else.
roleplay
motivate yourself to more actively participate in your learning. put yourself in the shoes of your professor and make practice tests, or in the mind of whoever discovered the concepts you're learning.
writing
we remember what we write much more than things that we simply read or even type. writing connects the brain and the body.
story telling
it is easy for the brain to remember stories with a beginning, middle, and end. this method works great for concepts that are processes. turn your concept into a little story.
mnemonic devices
mnemonic devices include acronyms and acrostics. these are great for remembering lists.
visuals
there's a reason textbooks these days have so many pictures! images help the brain remember and connect new information with something you may have seen before.
movement
motion connects the brain and the body. make easy to remember motions to go along with the concepts you're learning.
graphic organizers
graphic organizers are another one of my favorite study methods. mind mapping helps to better organize the concepts you're learning and makes it easier to connect key points.
drawing
drawing and making diagrams helps to further visualize and organize information.
games
games help lower stress and increase retention. things like kahoots, quizlet live, matching games (etc.) can help you enjoy studying a little more.
projects
project based learning is a very active learning strategy. think of things like science fair projects. when professors assign projects try your best to put your all into it.
field trips
field trips are another way to lower stress and increase retention. visiting museums dedicated to what you're learning is a great way to boost your interest and morale.
work study
getting more intimately involved in your field of study greatly increases your critical thinking skills surrounding it. for many fields this looks like getting involved in research, TA'ing, or becoming a tutor.
humor
what's more memorable than a good joke?
discussion
this method is a lot like reciprocal teaching. find a classmate, or someone else how has about the same level of understanding and talk about the concepts you're leaning.
manipulatives
there's a strong connection between what our hands hold and brains comprehend. manipulatives includes anything that can be touched and handled, like science models or interactive kits.
technology
using technology can look like a million different things, such as using apps to facilitate learning (like quizlet or duolingo).
i hope someone can find even one of these things useful as they continue with their academic journey. feel free to leave me any questions comments or concerns!

Cabin 7, Apollo
Tumblr media
Most Apollo kids can pick up any instrument and make it sing, and they’re often found strumming guitars, playing the lyre, or even having spontaneous jam sessions around campfires
They also tend to write songs, from humorous ditties about camp life to heartfelt ballads
Apollo kids are the go-to healers at camp
They have a natural talent for medical knowledge, herbology, and even magical healing
Whether it’s a scrape from training or something more serious, they can quickly patch up wounds and provide remedies
With their dad being the god of archery, they’re naturally incredible with a bow
Their aim is almost instinctual, and they make hitting bullseyes look easy
In Capture the Flag, they’re often stationed high up, providing cover for their teammates with precise shots
Apollo’s kids have a warm and sunny disposition, both literally and metaphorically
They tend to be optimistic and are usually the ones cheering others up or brightening the mood when things get tough
They also seem to have an affinity for sunlight and often hang out in sunny spots
Many of them are talented poets and writers, creating beautiful verses and stories
They can weave words in ways that captivate others, whether it’s through poetry, songwriting, or storytelling, and they’re known to use their writing to express their thoughts and emotions
Apollo kids are naturally athletic and quick on their feet
They often excel at sports and have incredible stamina, and they’re usually up for any physical challenge
Some even say they can run faster and jump higher than most other campers
Since they’re the unofficial medics, Apollo’s kids usually carry around basic first-aid kits and healing herbs
They’re the ones who patch up their friends after a sparring match or minor monster skirmish, and they always seem to know exactly what to do in an emergency
They have a natural charm and charisma, often loving the spotlight
Apollo’s kids are known for being a bit flashy, whether through their unique fashion sense, confidence, or the way they draw attention without even trying
They tend to embrace their creative flair in everything they do.
They’re excellent at creating campfire songs, chants, and hymns
During camp events, Apollo’s kids are usually the ones leading the chants or singing harmonies
They also enjoy teaching others the songs they write, which often become camp classics
Their archery skills come with a side bonus: keen eyesight
They’re quick to notice small details and are often the first to spot things others miss, whether it’s a hidden path in the woods or the fine print on an ancient scroll
Apollo kids are incredibly supportive, often acting as the camp’s unofficial cheerleaders
They know how to motivate and encourage their friends, and they’re the type to lift others up with a smile or a few kind words, making everyone around them feel appreciated
Though they have a relaxed vibe, Apollo’s kids are also very focused when it matters
Whether it’s nailing a shot in archery, performing a song, or healing an injured camper, they bring intensity and dedication to whatever they set their minds to
They might be laid-back, but Apollo kids have a competitive side that comes out in games and challenges
They have a knack for improvisation, whether in music, storytelling, or even in battle tactics
Apollo’s kids are quick thinkers and can adapt on the fly, making them invaluable on quests where things don’t always go as planned
Ares and Apollo’s kids tend to have a friendly (and sometimes not-so-friendly) rivalry, especially when it comes to archery and physical challenges
Apollo’s kids like to prove that their skills go beyond healing and music, often challenging Ares kids in sparring matches or competitions
Some Apollo’s kids are naturally morning people and are usually the first ones up at camp
As children of the god of poetry, they’re amazing storytellers
During campfire nights, they captivate everyone with tales of Greek myths, heroic quests, or even their own adventures
They know how to bring stories to life, with dramatic flair and perfect timing

What time is it y'all? That's right! It's time for me to procrastinate moving house by doing more rewatch notes. I dedicate this to the 4 of you who have been liking every single one of these posts almost immediately after they're up. Love y'all ❤️
Without further Ado: EP 9 - the introduction of Roy 'The Grouch' Kent, aka the '~ooooo Rebecca's in trooouuuble~' episode
-- Roy is literally Oscar the Grouch and i love it. Obviously in this metaphor Ted is Elmo and Dani is Abby or Rosita? No i will not be taking any questions.
-- Ted literally seeing Roy beating himself up and saying to himself 'Kent can self correct, no need to add to the pity party' and honestly yeah that's the best way to go about it. Trust your players to trust themselves (i think they say this outright later? That Ted sees the players like his kids bc he can't direct them during the match, just teach them in training and hope they learned to make the right decisions on the pitch)
-- little girls are mysterious silly and powerful, that's exactly right.
-- ah yes the No Secrets Are Secret kit room. One of my fav tropes actually.
-- Trent Crimm, The Daily Planet ❤️ sorry no notes I'm in love with this silver haired queer and mentally kick my feet and wrap a phone cord around my finger whenever he comes up
-- teeth marks on your butt you have to pay for? Beard absolutely spent the first free night he had in Richmond finding the best bdsm club
-- Rebecca talks like Ted when she's nervous and that's fucking hilarious to me
-- Higgins has an oral fixation, fine, but so does whoever wrote this episode. The teeth marks in the butt, the nibbled pen caps, etc etc
-- this series really is the Rebecca gets her ass handed to her every episode. Rupert is nearly 70 and having a child just to spite her? Fucking rough. Does start the foundation for the fertility stuff in the newest series tho
-- Rebecca set up the interview with Trent.....setting a guy up huh? Wonder if she knew Trent was gay?
-- Ted forgiving Rebecca for her bullshit is just him forgiving himself!! Letting himself be angry and sad and upset about his divorce by letting Rebecca be shitty and be forgiven!!! I love an emotionally healthy apology scene
-- fuck i forgot about Higgins goatee it's fucking hideous who let him do that
-- everyone reacting to Roy's problems with some variation of 'stop being a whiny little bitch' is so fucking funny
-- also Keeley met Phoebe five seconds ago and already they're partners in crime ❤️
-- the pub boys comforting Beard is so cute. It really shows that as much as they razz the coaches they really do care about them as people
-- Beard saying that relegation means they've accomplished nothing..... Idk what that says yet that he stays in Richmond once they do get relegated but it's gotta say something
-- drunk Ted is so fucking funny. They should let him get drunk more often. *Chest bump* 'rest in peace Socrates?'
-- ITS THE TRENT CRIMM DAUGHTER EPISODE he told her weeks ago he'd bring biscuits. He met Trent's daughter before the end of their first season. This is a revelation and also adorable. Also puts Ted's words at the front of the episode in a different perspective. The last little girl he probably talked to was Trent's daughter, who is apparently silly mysterious and powerful which. Still true. Still fair

Conceive with Confidence: A Holistic Approach to Fertility Success
Becoming parents is a dream shared by many, and for those navigating the sometimes challenging path of fertility, the journey can be both emotionally and physically taxing. However, with the right approach, conceiving with confidence is not just a possibility; it's a journey that can be embraced with optimism. In this article, we'll explore a holistic approach to fertility success, touching on lifestyle choices, medical interventions, and the importance of emotional well-being. At Somani Industries, we understand the significance of this journey and are committed to providing tools and solutions to support your quest for parenthood.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Basics: Wire Saw Machines and Fertility
Before diving into the intricacies of fertility, let's draw a metaphorical parallel between the precision required in the realm of conception and the technology employed in industries like construction. Just as a wire saw machine from Somani Industries ensures accuracy and efficiency in cutting through tough materials, understanding the fundamentals of fertility is crucial for success.
Optimizing the Terrain: Preparing the Ground with Hydro Bag Techniques
In the construction world, preparing the ground is fundamental for the success of any project. Similarly, in the journey towards conception, preparing the reproductive terrain is key. Much like a hydro bag expanding to create space and facilitate controlled demolition, optimizing your body's environment can be achieved through healthy lifestyle choices, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress management.
Cutting through Challenges: Navigating Fertility Roadblocks with Diamond Wire Saw Machines
Sometimes, the journey to parenthood encounters unexpected obstacles. However, just as a diamond wire saw machine can cut through the toughest materials, medical interventions can help cut through fertility challenges. Seeking guidance from fertility specialists, exploring assisted reproductive technologies, and understanding your options can pave the way for success.
The Foundation: Building a Healthy Lifestyle for Fertility Success
The foundation of any successful project is a solid base. Similarly, the journey towards conception requires a healthy lifestyle as its cornerstone. Proper nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate sleep contribute to overall well-being, positively impacting fertility. At Somani Industries, we believe that building a strong foundation is essential, not just in construction but also in the pursuit of parenthood.
Nurturing the Soil: The Role of Emotional Well-being in Fertility
Just as fertile soil is vital for the growth of plants, emotional well-being is crucial for fertility success. Stress and anxiety can have profound effects on reproductive health. Incorporating mindfulness practices, seeking support from loved ones, and engaging in activities that bring joy can nurture the emotional soil, creating a conducive environment for conception.
Precision Matters: Tracking Ovulation and Fertility Cycles
In the construction industry, precision is paramount. Similarly, in the journey to conception, understanding and tracking ovulation and fertility cycles with precision can significantly increase the chances of success. Utilizing modern technology, such as fertility tracking apps and ovulation predictor kits, can provide valuable insights into the most fertile windows.
Personalized Approaches: Tailoring Fertility Strategies to Your Unique Needs
Just as construction projects require customized solutions, fertility journeys are unique to each individual or couple. Working with healthcare professionals to develop personalized fertility strategies ensures that the approach aligns with your specific needs, increasing the likelihood of success. Somani Industries is dedicated to providing tools and support tailored to your fertility goals.
Breaking Ground: Addressing Common Fertility Myths and Misconceptions
Before embarking on any construction project, it's crucial to dispel myths and misconceptions that might hinder progress. Similarly, addressing common fertility myths is essential for making informed decisions. Separating fact from fiction empowers individuals to navigate the fertility landscape with confidence and clarity.
Collaboration is Key: Involving Your Partner in the Fertility Journey
In construction projects, collaboration among team members is key to success. Similarly, involving your partner in the fertility journey fosters a sense of unity and support. Communication, empathy, and shared responsibilities create a solid foundation for facing challenges together, strengthening the bond and increasing the chances of conception.
Fine-Tuning the Process: Lifestyle Adjustments for Improved Fertility
In construction, continuous adjustments are made to ensure the success of the project. Similarly, fine-tuning lifestyle choices can have a positive impact on fertility. From avoiding excessive alcohol consumption to managing stress, small adjustments can contribute to a healthier reproductive environment.
The Power of Patience: Understanding that Fertility is a Journey
In a world of instant gratification, patience is often underrated. Fertility, like any worthwhile project, requires time and perseverance. Recognizing that the journey may have twists and turns fosters a mindset of resilience and hope. At Somani Industries, we understand the power of patience and the beauty that unfolds when it's combined with determination.
Somani Industries: Your Partner in the Fertility Journey
Just as construction projects benefit from reliable partners, your fertility journey can be enhanced with the support of Somani Industries. Our commitment to precision, innovation, and personalized solutions extends to the realm of fertility. We offer a range of tools and resources designed to empower you on your path to parenthood.
The Blueprint for Success: Planning Your Fertility Journey
Every successful project begins with a well-thought-out blueprint. Similarly, planning your fertility journey is essential. Seeking guidance from fertility specialists, understanding your reproductive health, and setting realistic expectations create a roadmap for success. With Somani Industries by your side, you can approach your fertility journey with confidence and optimism.
Cultivating Confidence: Embracing the Possibility of Parenthood
In the world of construction, confidence in the project's success is cultivated through meticulous planning and reliable tools. Similarly, embracing the possibility of parenthood requires a holistic approach that combines lifestyle choices, medical support, and emotional well-being. With Somani Industries as your partner, you can navigate the fertility landscape with confidence, knowing that you have the support and tools needed to turn your dream of parenthood into a reality.
In conclusion, conceiving with confidence is not just a goal; it's an achievable reality. By adopting a holistic approach that encompasses lifestyle choices, medical interventions, and emotional well-being, individuals and couples can increase their chances of success on the journey to parenthood. Somani Industries, with its commitment to precision and innovation, stands ready to support you every step of the way. Remember, your fertility journey is unique, much like a construction project, and with the right tools and mindset, you can build the foundation for a future filled with the joy of parenthood.

THREE GIRLS WHO CRIED WOLF by ester cuervos
an introduction !
○ genre: literary fiction / low fantasy ○ category: adult ○ pov: first person retrospective ○ that feeling you get from an indie movie, lgbtqa+, the “wolf” in the title isn't a metaphor there are actual wolves, found family, childhood wonder with the reluctance of a teenager, werewolves but whimsical instead of sexy ○ cw: graphic death, gore, mental illness, toxic relationships, discussion of suicide ○ themes: avoiding accountability, denial, the power of choice, actions have consequences, narrator bias ○ tone: melancholic, raw, quiet, wistful, soft & sharp
a b o u t : told in three parts about best friends iris ibarra, winnie gil and maree peña who one day find an abandoned litter of wolf pups in the forest of their lake-side town. each part is dedicated to one of the girls and we follow each of their version of the story for two years: before and after they graduate high school… and how the bad things might have been caused by the wolves.
WINNIE GIL... loves someone who doesn’t want to love her back so she tries to love two other people, doing things her own way so she doesn’t have to conform to others, hasn’t accepted the idea of people in her head will never be as they really are. IRIS IBARRA... has herself convinced of her own invulnerability and confidence, doing things for others so it turns out the way she wants it, her type of kindness isn’t exactly ideal, consciously forgets to consider consequences might not just affect her. MAREE PEÑA... is incapable of telling people no or standing up for herself, learned to be okay with getting overlooked, struggling with keeping a mess from spreading, trying her very best to remain kind because if not her then who?
c h a r a c t e r s: ○ iris ibarra. she/they. asexual. hierarchy of needs: leaf?? < be a brat unprompted < i hope the forest critters know i am their friend or else i’ll cry < hold s/o’s hand < be an actual wolf. an older sister. ○ winnie gil. she/her. lesbian. hierarchy of needs: a cool snow globe < turtleneck worn with an overall < kiss a girl < be right in every situation < ice skating. a younger sister. ○ maree peña. she/her. aromantic. hierarchy of needs: bright coloured lipstick < oversharing emotions with strangers < the smell of new book < to be liked by everyone < a hug. a middle sister. ○ argyle macbay. they/them. asexual. hierarchy of needs: a good night’s sleep < the aesthetic of hanging photographs from twine with wooden clothes clips < an old camera < be held gently by gf. an older sibling.
aesthetic: wolf howls in the distance, bare ribs half-buried in the snow, a light drizzle, low-hanging mist, mossy rocks at the bottom of a river, bubbles rising to the surface as you sink, a bridge entangled with kudzu vines and flowers, feet sinking in mud, jumping on rain puddles with rubber boots, a blackout that lets you see the stars, snow globes with glitter instead of fake snow, the bells of buoys, friendship bracelets, trails of blood on the snow, ripped stuffed toys, branches reflected on a cup of coffee, the low sunlight through a bathroom window, the whisper of the wind, star doodles on the margins of notebooks, astrological birth charts
playlist: ribs / the crane wives ; wolves without teeth / of monsters and men ; rebel heart / first aid kit ; achilles come down / gang of youths ; feel something / jaymes young ; forest fires / axel flóvent ; just my soul responding / amber run ; hunger / florence + the machine ; organs / of monsters and men ; stomach it / crywolf ft. eden ; howling / wild rivers ; running with the wolves / aurora ; see you through my eyes / the head and the heart ; lover, please stay / nothing but thieves ; on the wing / owl city ; tomorrow / daughter ; sick of losing soulmates / dodie ; crash / eden ; soap / the oh hellos ; older / sasha sloan ; believe / mitch king ; in a week / hozier

Inside the dedicated metaphor kit
Mobius, tired of Loki stealing his salad for the third time, slaps a brightly colored box onto the table. “Here,” he says flatly, “a metaphor kit. Use it wisely, since you clearly don’t get the point of boundaries.”
Loki raises an eyebrow, intrigued. “A metaphor kit? How… quaint.”
A tiny rubber chicken: “This represents your chaos, Loki. You pluck the calm right out of the situation”.
Loki stares at it, grinning. “Clever. And here I thought you were all about order.”
A foam apple: “A temptation. Just like your need to take things that aren’t yours.”
Loki holds it up, mocking a bite. “Yes, how mature of you, Mobius.”
A small sand timer: “The time you waste. Literally. Stealing food, ignoring warnings, wasting my patience.”
Loki flips it over. “You’re being dramatic. It’s just a salad.”
A rubber frog: “Represents how you jump into chaos without thinking.”
Loki snickers. “And you think this will help me reflect? Pathetic.”

I’m not a minimalist in nigh any aspect of my life, but I have a reoccurring fixation on what my witchcraft essential kit is. I think you could build an entire practice on the foundation of book and bone and blade, and that sounds snappy and I like it. Maybe the key is to think of it as main pillars instead of bare minimums.
But I mean, it SOUNDS good, and it’s viable, but is it accurate?
book is accurate--I keep records because I have to. so book is journal but also not quite that, and I think for some people “book” would mean bible or book of psalms or practical sigil magic by What’s His Name or a volume of The Invisibles by Grant Morrison, or whatever. I have my kindle in a book style case for ease of use but also because it occasionally subs in for the role of “book” in a magical sense--which it should, given that it has a bunch of magical texts on it, my own included. there is no better handy dandy reference grimoire than something with a ton of data on it that’s also very portable and readable in sunlight. but usually “book” means notebook, and my entire life is contained in whatever notebook I’m currently using. I don’t have a separate book for witchcraft, because then I would have to keep track of two notebooks at a time, and I would always manage to lose one or the other. So I’m close to a bullet journal og pursuit in that respect, but then also not because I like refillable systems where you rearrange the pages to your liking. but the point is: BOOK. you’re probably gonna write some sigils in it! maybe PEN or PENCIL or KEYBOARD is implied with “book.” maybe.
bone is accurate and I think the general idea idea doesn’t need to be explained, at least not to anything with a death leaning aspect to their practice, but I also mean a specific physical sacred object, but you can’t really explain that to anyone because it’s just One of Those Things. as you practice and go along one day you are gifted The Object, and it’s a ridiculously occult very unsubtle event that’s probably different for everyone and you don’t really force it. it is one of those Mysteries. when you are ready, you acquire the object of power. or it acquires you. like, honestly, I try not to think about it. but people who are new to this kind of thing always want to know--how do I get it, how do I know, is this feather I saw on my walk today a sign? in reverse order: no, you just do, and it’s not entirely up to you.
blade--I mean, OBVIOUSLY and of course, and I mean an actual fucking knife you use to do knifey things, not a symbolic representation of blah blah blah. a KNIFE! you can open boxes with it! gather plants! cut yourself loose from whatever! stab--something. if you have to.
so, accuracy: kinda, yeah, sure.
but realistically, I mean, I’ve probably DONE the most witchcraft with pen and ink and a pendulum and none of that is a metaphor, except for how it also is, as writer. but that doesn’t sound as snappy.
and that’s not even getting into consumables:
graveyard dirt and instant coffee
crushed rose petals and manzanilla
+ many many tea lights.
I like buying fancy rocks but whenever I have NEED for a rock, what does the job is almost always the rock that you trip on while you’re on a walk. what is that? like, granite? hell if I know. it works. humans and rocks have a long history together. there’s one of those sketchy speculative theories of species development out there that says we got our great big brains in part because we had to figure out how to throw rocks real good just to eat. so, rocks: VERY helpful, since forever.
so now we’re up to--bone and book and blade and rock (and graveyard dirt and rose petals and coffee and candles and chamomile)
“then you talk to the trees,” I always start to explain, and then I stop, because it doesn’t explain anything, and anyway it’s not even an accurate description of what happens, exactly, so setting that aside
bone and book and blade and rock and key
quite like using keys, me. good and straightforward symbolism. problem is: I’m hellaciously allergic to metals so I can’t actually wear ‘em, right? so maybe scratch that, idk, although key on a cord does make for a pendulum, which, as I’ve said, is very handy.
but really
when I think of most used items, you know where we get to?
bone and book and blade and rock and key and mirror.
extremely useful item, practically and magically speaking--much like the knife, much like the book.
just noticed I switched the order of the words in  my alliterative phrase and I am not going back to change it, ty
and I think that’s something core to my practice: maybe you don’t need stuff, but if you have stuff, it had better be damn useful stuff, stuff you actually CAN use and stuff you actually DO use.
there’s a lot to be said for ritual specific tools, and how that primes you for the right headspace, how you can condition yourself to drop into the liminal mindset, how it helps to set the scene and how it’s sacred and special to have things set aside for one dedicated use, and that use alone.
but that’s what the priestessing is about, for me, I think. some of it, anyway. the witchery, the witchCRAFT, can’t be cumbersome. I really do think of it as being like workouts and physical training: if the whole thing is too hard, too intense, or requires too much prep time, or leaves you too exhausted, you are just NOT gonna do it.
and, again, much like how you can do bodyweight workouts with only your darling self, and that works--yeah, okay, you don’t NEED equipment but you probably have some versatile favorites.
and I guess listing five to six items as “essentials” is pretty maximalist.
so anyway--today I bought another mirror, so...
We’ll see.
Gotta go find my rose petals.

There's a new issue of Kolaj Magazine!
Our goal with every issue is that Kolaj Magazine is essential reading for anyone interested in the role of contemporary collage in art, culture, and society. Kolaj #29 reports on collage in this critical moment of world history.
SUBSCRIBE OR ORDER A COPY
Electrum #47 by David Crunelle is on the cover. Crunelle’s lenticular collages were the subject of his virtual exhibition, “Electrum”. The opening of the show “was actually a lot of fun, even more than during a regular, stressful and exhausting opening.”
In his editorial, Ric Kasini Kadour reminds collage artists, that even though we are in the “Cool Zone” of history, this is no time to pause. Artists have an important role to play in making the unseen, seen.
Lyndon Barrois, Jr. is the winner of the 2020 Stone & DeGuire Contemporary Art Award and five Canadian collage and assemblage artists are long listed for the Sobey Art Award 2020, each winning $25,000. {th ink} 2: objectextion, dedicated to those affected by coronavirus, is the latest volume from Aaron Beebe Collage. Kolaj LIVE Online is a series of virtual programs that manifests Kolaj Magazine by bringing together artists, curators, and writers to share ideas that deepen our understanding of collage.
How is the COVID-19 pandemic informing collage? We profile a selection of artist responses: Wing Chan, Mario Sostre, Elena Øhlander, Lunel Haysmer, David Crunelle, and Dominik Senaq. Danielle Cole writes about how to make a collage kit and, in doing so, how to respond to a pandemic. Collage Communities around the world are adjusting to COVID-19. Christopher Kurts reports that “despite the loss, collage artists continue to push forward with the things they can do; making art where they can and lifting each other up as they go.”
A conversation between artists Andrea Burgay and Clive Knights evolved from a discussion planned for Kolaj Fest New Orleans 2019. Introducing the atypical collage practices of both artists, the dialogue focuses on the use of physical methods of excavation as a metaphor for ideas that drive their work. Part One, in Kolaj #28, featured Burgay interviewing Knights. Part Two, in Kolaj #29, features Knights interviewing Burgay.
Polish collagiste Marta Janik describes “Collage Language”, a project started in 2019 to document and activate collage artists in the Praga Północ district of Warsaw.
Over the next year, Kolaj Magazine is publishing a series of articles that investigates the strategies and approaches artists use to go big, increase the scale of their work, and engage with the larger art world. The second of these articles examines the Black Warrior River Mural that was the result of a proposal from University of Alabama professor Teresa Cribelli’s Environmental History of the Americas class and CollabSlab, a project originally designed for Kolaj Fest New Orleans 2019.
Billy Renkl reviews “Max Ernst: Collages”, which was on view at Kasmin Gallery in New York in January and February 2020.
Amsterdam-based collagist Bob Bunck is the subject of a profile. The artist says, “My philosophy concerning the free mind of the artist, implicates that freedom of choice for any material should be an undisputed starting point.”
And a Kiss for Good Measure is this issue’s Cut Out Page by Aylmer, Quebec artist Louise Héroux.
Each issue of Kolaj Magazine is dedicated to reviewing and surveying contemporary collage with an international perspective. We are interested in collage as a medium, a genre, a community, and a 21st century art movement.

TS7 Theory: Metamorphosis
Yes. I made a second theory. This is what happens when Taylor is cryptic then drags us about looking for clues on live national tv fsjklfdsjkldsfjkldsfjkldsjkdsfjkldsjkldsfjkl “you’ll be the first to know” sHuT uP
So!! Butterflies!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s discuss.
So like. She’s been Going Off™ about butterflies lately and there is literally not a single goddamn chance it’s just because there were a lot of butterflies in LA jsdfkldsfjkldsfj this is Taylor we’re talking about here. Ever since she started going down this butterfly route I started trying to connect the dots and think about what it could mean... and tbh the underlying theme kinda connected to my other theory but I decided I’m just making a new one.
Metamorphosis. 13 letters. The process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The metaphor is pretty self explanatory. Reputation was her cocoon while she recovered and now she’s emerging as a butterfly.
Then I found this post by @9w1ft that’s!!! Absolutely wild!!!!!!! Essentially, there’s this caterpillar that disguises its cocoon as a snake head so that predators don’t eat it while it’s turning into a butterfly. Also.... its metamorphosis cycle,,,,,,, deadass is 13 days. Thirteen days. 13. Yeah. Mhm. I’m screaming too. Also the cocoon looks,,,, literally just like Karyn from the rep tour fsjklsjfdklsjdklsdfjkldskl
Which then got me thinking about other costumes and stuff on the rep tour... and then I was like!!! Holy shit!!!! The dress performance!!!!!!!!!!! She and the dancers literally look like butterflies.... and the dress performance.... is dedicated to Loie Fuller.... and is inspired by her, and i shit you not, “butterfly dance”. It gets better... on the rep tour setlist....... dress is the 13th song.
Tumblr media
The butterflies mean something.... and tbh I think this is all connected. She was literally wearing a butterfly on her shoes at the iheartradio awards.... and then she posted that instagram picture just of the butterfly shoes. She’s trying to hint at something!!!
And frankly like, I wouldn’t put it past her to have planned this all out so long ago... bc honestly she probably started planning ts7 before reputation, and then that whole nightmare happened and ts7 was put on the backburner for a bit and she did reputation. So honestly... it would make sense that she had already started writing some songs off ts7 but then ended up writing reputation instead. That also ties into the whole theory about the “real taylor” in the lwymmd music video who was chopping off the plane wing and spray painting reputation on the plane... she had planned for a different album but then reputation happened.
But, she’s gone through her metamorphosis now.... and the butterfly is emerging!!!
Okay so I’m going to like keep updating this theory and I’ll put anything else I think of below!! I also might edit above this too but yeah lmk if you have thoughts!!!
Tumblr media
Also this post by @9w1ft which talks about how there was a blue butterfly taymoji on the swift life in the delicate box kit thing
Tumblr media
YALL IT’S A BLUE BUTTERFLY. (x)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also this style of dress (iheart) is a butterfly tunic dress!!!!!
AND!!! as @holyreputaytion pointed out to me, the dress looks like what butterfly wings do under a microscope!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yall it’s true here’s some screenshots from dress on the rep tour movie guys it’s so gay im crying

The best thing about Unicorn Store was definitely the multidimensional message it has. The movie tackled a lot of different topics, some playing minor parts and other pieces carried the film. Hitting hard in a lot of places for me personally, I think this movie is a great way to take a step back and take a look at your life. Are there things you want to change, do you need change in your life, what makes you happy, how do you achieve that happiness?
*spoilers ahead*
The greatest parts of the movie is the journey and process of Kit's self discovery, finding and obtaining her unicorn. In a lot of interviews Brie Larson has always referred to herself as "introverted" and how acting was a way past that shyness and anxiety, being told how to act and what to do was learning like how to be a person in situations and everyday life. This movie literally puts that notion directly on paper, via... wait for it... Unicorn Care instructions/prerequisites! What a clever way to represent the idea of, learning to "adult", learning to take the steps in self reflection, care, and self love.
Step one, was to build a home worthy of a Unicorn; build a safe space, find a home, put down a foundation. Whatever way you see it, a safe space to express yourself, a home literally if you struggle with unstable family conditions, or like Kit, you need to rebuild from the ground up.
Step 2 was about caring for the Unicorn making sure you were financially stable, had food and water, and the means to take care of the wellbeing of this animal. The biggest metaphor for me for this step was knowing what feeds your soul, what makes you happy, comfortable or safe. As part a of the instructions, Financial stability, that I don't think was a metaphor at all; its big part of what the modern idea of what it takes to be an "adult", and I think is something we all have come across once or twice and found money can take a huge toll on our ability to care for ourselves. Money is stressful, I've let the idea of working hard to get money, to make enough money to make me feel comfortable, has often times removed me from enjoying other things in life. Months of just compelete autonomy, wake up, go to work, come home, decompress, sleep, rinse and repeat, all dedicated to making paper with imaginary value. It interferes significantly with our ability to take a step back and remove ourselves from reality for even a small moment.
Step 3, the Unicorn cannot be in a hateful environment, it needs constant love affection and good vibes surrounding it. This being the most obvious metaphor in the movie, surrounding yourself with love. That doesn't just mean family situations and having a significant other, but putting yourself in situations that are positive, that feed your human spirit, after all Uncle Iroh said it best "while it is always best to believe in one's self, a little help from others can be a great blessing.
Those are the most technical messages of this movie that I think really struck a chord in me, and were best brought out via this film. The realness, that grit I love Brie Larson for being able to portray is perfectly counterbalanced with the fantasy of this film. Unicorn Store is simple in plot, but the ability to expand that plot with the messages it has and the creativity in Kit, the world she lives in, and the metaphors this movie uses makes it an A+ movie.
This movie was important for me to see and experience because, like I'm sure many of you felt, Kit's story was relatable, not just likable or generic, but I think it strikes into the heart of my generation. We feel lost, struggling to make things work in our life trying to stay above water after treading it for so long. The burden of living paycheck to paycheck, the juggling of school, work, and personal life so many of us can't seem to find a balance of, sacrificing one or the other. It takes a lot know a days to really pursue what you want, a lot of forethought, venn diagrams and pros and cons lists; when pursueing your passion, taking care of your soul, what makes you happy, shouldn't be a task or something you have to sacrifice or require sacrificing something else. I quit my job after 4 years of hard work and dedication, unemployed for 6 months, and am now working my way back from the bottom.
I still don't have my "happy ending"; a friend is still a friend, I'm still working at a dead end job, and I'm not satisfied with my life yet. I am not unhappy though, through the last year of battling through depression, anxiety, self doubt and down right laziness, I can say that I am a happier person. All the struggle was a necessity in finding myself and starting the journey of who I want to be and where I want to go; finding my unicorn.
So thank you Brie Larson for a wonderful film. A film I was able to reflect on at a personal level, which rarely happens, a film a I was able to enjoy watching and gained an experience I wasn't expecting to go on and won't soon forget. If you personally aren't ready to build a stable, buy bales of hay and see a real unicorn, take your time, just remember to love yourself first, make you happy.
Side note this movies humor was A1. The outfit choices for Kit were hilariously perfect and the lighting and color of this movie were dreamlike.

kamilah x mc - the warrior queen
Dedicated to @riyalovestaylor ! Thank you for your request x
-
Amy had her arms wrapped tightly around Kamilah’s neck, with Adrian, Jax and Lily following close behind her as the vampires managed to retreat to the former Clanless hideout.
The finance CEO slowly laid her lover onto a nearby couch, watching Amy’s chest rise the slightest bit as the pale arm clutched over her abdomen protectively.
It definitely hurt to breath, but now there was that strong scent of fresh blood and every single vampire in the room is trying their best not to pounce on the scathed Bloodkeeper. Kamilah was practically fighting every inch of her being to not reveal her fangs.
“Gah! Amy gasped. “Good...lord, that...hurts.”
Jax popped back into the common room with a first aid kit in his hands and handed it to Kamilah. She delved her hand into the box and picked out the tweezer and a needle needed to suture the nasty looking wound at Amy’s side.
Thank god Kamilah took pills before all of this happened so she wouldn’t go berserk at the sight of blood.
Kamilah side-eyed the rest of the vampires. “The rest of you, out. I need some space.”
Adrian didn’t need her to repeat any more, so he just reluctantly dragged Jax by his arm and placed a gentle hand on the small of Lily’s back and retreated to the bedroom, closing the door behind his back.
-
“Love,” Amy sighed. “For the final and last time, I can walk.”
Kamilah said nothing but gently placed Amy down on her feet. The blue-eyed woman was only onto her third step on solid ground before she winced and hugged her injured side again. The vampire queen sighed, picking Amy up bridal style and huffed.
“You’re going to tear open your stitches if you’re going to keep that up, sweetheart. Just let me handle you.”
Amy shook her head against the crook of Kamilah’s neck. Instead of the usual sweet earthy scent that Kamilah usually was, there was a hint of musk cologne along with it. “You were much too overprotective over the past week, Kamilah. I was there when you were in a catfight with Adrian and Jax, remember?”
Ah, fond memories. Amy had to watch Kamilah, Adrian and Jax squabble right in front of her desk, with Lily silently joining her for the showdown.
In the end, Kamilah ended the quarrel with a question.
“Who, within this circle, has bedded Amy Ashryver?”
The two male vampires dropped their heads in silence and raised their hands in mock defeat. The former Egyptian nomarch basked in the glory of her victory before walking towards Amy and called it a day.
Lily’s jaw had dropped.
The last Amy heard from her boss, Jax and himself were apparently drinking to their defeat with whiskey on rocks at the Shadow Den.
“I…” Kamilah started, hanging her head in shame. “Well, ever since Gaius decided to worm his way into my head, the only thing I care about is to not let him touch you. And I failed my duty.”
Her breaths came in short. Her skin grew hot. Her grip on the coffee table became knuckle-white. Those deep, warm brown eyes flashed into a dark rage of crimson red, with the predatory behind all that fury.
“He made me vulnerable. He managed to lure the real me, within these walls inside of me, out.”
Amy slowly reached out (without pressuring on her stitched wound) to gently over her hand over Kamilah’s on the table, and started to trace small circles on the back of her lover’s hand. A technique that Amy had learned from her ex-girlfriend back in college.
Kamilah tensed at first, before relaxing into the gentle touch. “I was afraid. If you’d seen the real me within all of the walls that I’ve built for all the years I’ve been alive for my defence mechanism...I would hurt you.”
The blue-eyed girl only managed a chuckle, before resting a hand on Kamilah’s cheek. She never really got how her skin was the smoothest out of all the women she had ever been with. “Well...I already got myself deep into this queer vampire rabbit hole, and I already knew the consequences of it. I think Jameson forcefully reaching into my mind for memories that he needed would be more painful than your truth, darling.”
Kamilah cocked her head to one side. “Was that...a metaphor? What are you saying?”
“You see, our minds are beautiful treasures,” Amy started. “And they are your personal archives for every single memory you obtain as you grow older and the years pass. Jameson invaded my personal space, and that is rude of him to do so. He did it against my will.”
Amy was staring deep into Kamilah’s eyes, lost into those chocolate pools of a warm brown. “I would never ask for your truth against your will, baby. Like you said before I left for Paris, I would see the real you...someday. And it won’t be anytime soon, I just know it. Well, even if you had the bloodiest history in the world, I wouldn’t mind.”
“Why?”
“You’re my dangerous woman after all,” Amy winked.
Kamilah shifted nervously. “C...Can I join you under the blanket?”
The Bloodkeeper patted on the empty spot next to her, and let the vampire slip in the warmth, and into her arms.
“I’ve never had someone understand me like that before.”
“What can I say? I’m a diamond in the buff.”

"A SONG FOR YOU"
"Let's break up. I'm tired"
That was my boyfriend's last sentence before turning his back on me after a huge fight. My heart shook, adept to a huge stone being thrown at the water's calm surface, and ending up to my shoulder.
I couldn't imagine the heart wrenching pain it brought me, comparable to being gnawed on by wolves and bombed right after, turning into very tiny fragments. Taking the life out of it.
I was never a fan of poetry, until he gave me one. I was drowned in his profound imagery and indulged me with all kinds of metaphors. I was carved in every one of his masterpieces. What a fantasy I deluged myself into—before.
Now, seeing his newly written poems that's filled with life, I just can't accept the pain knowing it would be for someone else. Not for me anymore.
"Keilla, are you ready? You're first!" the restaurant owner shouted from the side.
"Yes, sir!" I answered.
I immediately got my guitar and went to the backstage for my performance. Tonight is the restaurant's weekly concert, and I am one of the performers.
"Sing from the heart, okay?"
"Yes, sir"
The moment I sat down on the small stage's seat, my heart began pounding uncontrollably. My grip on the guitar tightened, gathering my courage on the decision I made today.
I closed my eyes. As I strum the first melody of the guitar, flashes of vivid memories rushed through me. Strenghtening my stand on my resolution.
🎶My shattered dreams and broken heart are mending on the shelf🎶
"You don't need these make up. You are much more beautiful without it"
He said, putting aside my makeup kit and kissing me on the forehead. I giggled. He lifted my chin up and rewarded me butterfly kisses on my lips. Damn. My face heated up.
"Kievve, stop teasing me!"
He chuckled seeing my reaction.
He always made me feel my own version of cinderella. It made me fall for him. Hard, and deep.
🎶Now I sit all alone wishin' all my feelings was gone
"Baby, why me?"
I asked out of curiousity. I mean, there are a lot of fishes in the sea, why me?
He looked straight into my eyes.
"Because it has to be you."
🎶 I gave my best to you, nothing for me to do
I must've indulged myself too much on this fantasy. I forgot we weren't living in fairytales, and reality slapped me real hard.
He became cold and distant. His replies became shorter and shorter until he rarely sent me messages anymore.
"You said you'd never leave."
"That was before, Keilla."
"Kievve, baby, please don't. What had I done wrong? Please tell me. I'd fix it. Just... don't."
"Let's break up, Keilla. I'm tired"
🎶 I was here, you were there. Guess we never could agree
"Baby, please"
"Let go, please. Let go and make me happy"
The hand that was clinging on him lost its strenght, along with dying hope. My mind went blank. I stiffened.
He's not happy with me anymore?
🎶While the sun shines on you, I need some love to rain on me
I cannot measure the amount of tears I poured for him. Every night I go out with my friends to drink, and I always ended up wasted.
I was wrecked.
🎶 One last cry before I leave it all behind. I gotta put you out of my mind this time. Stop living a lie🎶
Why do people came into our lives just to leave us broken at the very end? Like a calm evening disturbed by a raging storm, left deformed.
🎶 I know I gotta be strong 'coz life 'round me goes on and on...
Realization strucked me. I shouldn't have loved too much, to avoid hurting so much. I should've left some for myself, to heal the scars once broken. Because the only thing that would be left with me once abandoned is myself. And giving away too much would only slow down my healing, 'coz I don't have enough love in me to cover me with warmth.
That I should've loved myself a bit more.
🎶 I guess I'm down... to my last cry 🎶
The last drop of tears fell from eyes, symbolizing the final song I'd ever dedicate to him. Embracing for a stronger, tougher Keilla.
This is ... my last cry
