December 2024 Reading Recap

Well, we are somehow already halfway through January, and I’ve still not recapped my December 2024 reads or done any year-end recaps.  Can you tell I’ve not been feeling creative lately? Cause those creative juices have really not been flowing recently. I haven’t even written any the blogs I need for ARCs yet, either… I hope at some point later this month that I can get a 2024 reading recap up…

Festive Parties, Lunches, & Get-Togethers // December 2024

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I am getting over being sick, hence this being a few days late. But, anyway, this December was full of festive activities, and honestly, feels like it totally flew by. And now the year itself is coming to a close. This was a great month to close on, however; I had lots of family/friend time and cosy days! Special…

This year was wild 🫠

Maybe one of the hardest for me ever.

But it also had so many wonderful moments! ❤️‍🩹

I had a fair share of fun and snow in the winter mountains 🏂🏻🌨️

With my friends I traveled to Khevsureti, Tusheti and Svaneti - the most amazing and authentic regions of Georgia 🇬🇪

This year I had a chance to ride horses and snowboards, hiked more than 300 kms, slept at 2700 m, saw the most beautiful sunsets and stars ✨

I learned A1 level German 🇩🇪, very basic Spanish 🇪🇸 and started learning French 🇫🇷

I didn't draw anything for approximately 200 days 😱, had about 25 meltdowns and still survived for 366 days 🥲

(oh, it was a leap year, that explains a lot)

Here's for 2025 to be kinder, because if I'm lucky I will have to make a huge leap of faith 🌚

Everyone sharing their Spotify wrapped and me being like: 🧍‍♀️(as always). Well, I share my YouTube Music recap instead. Kuumaa being there surprised me a bit, I had a phase with that one song. 😅 Also I was expecting Käärijä being my top artist but checkig out the top albums explains a lot. People's Champion and Souvenir Pop didn't make it there for the late release, RIP. 🥲

WOE. LAST DAT OF 2023 BE UPON YE

Here’s my art recap for the year! Tbh my art didn’t improve overtime as much imo this year as compared to others, but tbh I’ve been super happy with my art. I included some printmaking projects even though I planned on posting them by themselves later.

I won’t say much about my year bc frankly I don’t. Want to. But I’m halfway though my second year of art school! Frankly this has been more fun than the first year lol.

Things that weren't on my 2024 bingo card:

Seeing my principal play drums for people with 7 minutes of expirience

Hearing my French teacher(elder French woman) say "skibidi sigma"

Having my english teacher say "slut" infront of all of his classes, on purpose.

Hearing about how after someone yelled "I don't want to do cocaine!" In class as a joke, my english teacher proceeded to say "well if you ever change your mind, I have crack in my drawer"... Everybody is still wondering if it's a joke or not

Having our brand new orchestra teacher quit on us 2 months into the year(I blame the 6th graders)

Having to explain to my mom what is the Duck Song and it's cultural significance

Having to bond with my cousin in Ukraine about how stupidly teachers and the administration act during emergency lockdowns(for me it's school shootings, for him air strikes)

My Art teacher making a "that's what she said" joke

My Art teacher saying to one the students "Chill Papi"

Meeting my new Assistant Principal via hyperventilating in the middle of the bus parking lot.

Having my geometry teacher vent to a lizard, that ran into the classroom, about how our class couldn't answer an elementary level question ("Can you believe this Raptar")

Partaking in a random passing around of my friend's art work via teeth (he bit the canvas, walked up to someone, that someone also bit and took it away and the cycle continues)

Seeing a math teacher in a custom Christmas sweater with another teacher's face on it. (I don't know how to feel about this)

My english teacher explaining the plot of a myth where Odysseus becomes a s€x slave

Seeing a flute player(band teacher) try to tune and teach string instruments, (his only string instruments class in college was during COVID lockdown)

Gobbling up like 3/4 of a large pizza at a class party in a class I wasn't even part of.

Being harrased by a random 6th grader via pick up line "Are you good at math? Cause you should subtract your clothes, add a bed, and divide your legs" and as I speed walked away he screamed GYATT

Getting fat shamed by a 8 year old at a playground

Explaining the same 8 year old who is reality and how it's going to hit him.

Pretending to call 911 on that 8 year old(i renamed my friends contact to 911) and bro really thought the FBI will be chasing him for climbing trees

The 8 year old also stole my friend's fake santa beard and we ran after him for a good 10 minutes (End of the "the 8 year old" Saga)

Winning a Student President election at my school by creating brainrott stickers and giving them out

Covering for my sister's boyfriend as he ran to get my sister a Christmas present in secret and then 30 minutes later, me and my sister found him next to an ambulance (on his way back some guy collapsed right in front of him so he called 911...brother had the most eventful trip to micheals)
